Sony Ericsson TM506 - User Reviews

  • I had this phone since 2008 and there's not a scratch on it (though had to get new chargers and batteries). My newer touch screen phones have all so many broken screens...

  • Real nice phone ever

  • its a nice phone ever

  • I can n't open camera and take a picture.I have no memory card into my cellphone.

  • One of the best phones that ever came out! I wore it out and now I miss it! I love this phone!

  • internet and camera broken

  • Its not supporting airtel sim india

  • why my phone is not supporting for airtel sim

  • Try Airtel then.

  • vodafonwe sim not ascepted my tm506 mo whay

  • Sir, I am afraid poor connectivity has nothing to do with the phone itself but rather your service provider. If your service is provided by a small player like mobilicity you will most like experience connectivity gaps within the city let alone in aereas away from the city.

  • i am from eritrea .i have a phone of this type.it was working with in the city but it doesnt out of my city.but now it doesnt work totally,it says no network coverage.can u tell me what to do.

  • its good bt nt wrking proprli like supports onli 1 ntwrk Zong anibody hv idea about to unlock instead of country cod??????

  • its awesome!!!!! i got it as a gift(its green)

  • where i can buy this phone and how much it is ??

  • This is one of the best phones i've owned three snd a half years old still works great.

  • this phone is fantastic and reliable for me,i have use this phone two years i have not sent to repair before.it is quality and affordabl.

  • Where can I buy battery for this phone and how much is it?

  • THIS PHONE IS COOL. i have it for 4 years and it's still ok

  • I love this phone, expect after around three years the hinge starts to go bad (buy a new phone - but their cheap). Also, if the phone acts wierd and won't hang up on calls, do a software upgrade (from sony ericsson). World-wide phone with 2Mb camera and the ability to record your own mp3 files and use them as your ringones is great. Battery life is good in 2G and bad in 3G, and the USB/battery/music interface is terrible.

  • From the moment I purchased this phone I have had nothing but trouble. All of the constant sporadic hang-ups, lack of service (in areas where it should work fine), cut-in-half voice mails were really starting to get to me and to top it off, this afternoon I was unable to send or receive text messages due to the apparent "Phone Memory Full" which appears cannot be rectified since every single message is "corrupt" and cannot be deleted. Also my phone is showing me that I have 1495 drafts saved in my phone.... ridiculous. I bought this phone because I trusted the Sony name... boy was I wrong.

  • I have the same issue. The phone will not hang up.

  • Terrible, waste of money doesn't say enough. No wonder T-Mobile gave this phone free when I upgraded my account. Or possibly T-Mobile is the root problem. Leaving them as SOON as my contract is up even though I need a new phone NOW!

  • gave this to my mom as a gift. she said it's terrible that i need to return this. cant call to her phone many times and also she picks up but you cant hear her nor can she hear you on the phone...sucks! so frustrating having to return things like that...dont get this phone

  • Don't waste your money on this phone! I have never written a review on anything before, but this phone is so frustrating I had to. After talking to someone for about one minute the other person can no longer hear me (i can still hear them). Then after about 30 seconds I lose connection totally. The texting sucks! It is slow and just as frustrating. This phone does nothing for me but raise my blood pressure!

  • TM506 users,the TM506 is actually the T Mobile version of the Z780

  • i want to update the firmware on my s.e tm506,how i do it?can anybody help me?pls

  • your sol

  • do a software update

  • It's not a bad phone, especially for the money. I'm using it on Mobilicity, and it hasn't had any issue with freezing, or shutting down, or rebooting, etc. The only problem is Mobilicity poor signal in some parts of the city. Also, the display is actually a bit over 2.2 inches, not 2.0 inches.

  • I'm pretty positive this phone is the worst phone I've ever had. It sucks, all it does is freeze, heat up, and turn off and on. It would have been a good phone if it hadn't done that.

  • my phone will not hang up !!!!!! i can hit the red button or close the phone....... after 1minute and 32 seconds it will hang up anyone have a cure ?

  • This is a good 3G phone, at least acceptable low-cost use, though I suspect I got Revision 2 of this item since I have no problem whatsoever, and it is not T-Mobile version but unlocked, only gripe is Triband.

  • this phone works well

  • The worst phone I have ever owned. I am on my second one!!! Both phones freeze up. Impossible to check messages as it has long delay from when you push numbers to retrieve calls to when the phone registers the number pushed. Phone doesnt record half the call numbers of missed calls that come in and doesnt record half of the call numbers I make!!! Now my phone is turning on and off and the screen will not turn on. I am done with Ericsson and will NEVER buy another!!!!! Buyer Beware!!!!!

  • I have owned this phone for 3 months, and have experienced the occasional phone turning off. Currently, it is the volume that is out. When I place or receive calls, I can not hear nothing. I have tried everything but nothing. I am really disappointed with Sony.

  • Worst phone that I ever used froze every time, don't waste your time or money in this crappy gadget!!

  • yes it has pic id on it

  • I currently have this phone and it is AWFUL! It keeps turning on and off on me randomly. It freezes almost every time I open if and I have to wait until it processes me selecting the menu button or any button. I keep dropping calls and not receiving missed calls or text messages. I am currently on my 2nd phone waiting for the replacement (3rd) to come in the mail. Luckily I bought insurance on it so I will be getting a different phone. I feel awful for anyone who did not buy the insurance because for the most part people think it is a scam, but after the nightmare I have had with this phone and my previous phone I decided to pay for it which turned out to be a good investment.

  • i got thism phone and i had an accident and my phone"s display screen is broken.. so please suggest me if this screen is replaceble or not.. if yes then where can i find the one

  • This phone has Died and No one At T-Mobile Can Help me.

  • I have a sony ericcson tm506 and have been loving it. i have watched movies that i've loaded onto my memory card, played games, made mini movies, listen to satellite radio, email, and so much more. hell i can text while talking on the phone or even listen to my downloaded mp3s while surfing the web and when i'm walking i can listen to my music and still have my phone closed. most people i come across have paid big bucks for their phones and it can't even do half of what mine can. i can even control my friends' ps3 from it. that's a hell of a phone for under 50 bucks. i have had my troubles with the phone. one time the phone would not access the internet ut after doing some troubleshooting that was fixed. then another time the phone wouldn't turn on, but t-mobile replaced the phone.then another time the buttons stopped working and sony ericcson replaced it. if anyone is having troubles with their sony ericcson just contact the company and they will replace it, regardless if you have a warranty or not.

  • this phone is a piece of ---- you know what. try to get online, it is too slow. i can't even get into my yahoo e-mail account. i think get a nokia 5630 1s better, because i ownen one. stay away from this phone.

  • My brother has had this phone and now i want it but i cant seem to find this phone in stores in macon but his phone has not been workin for quite a long time and he tells me that yhu dnt wnt this phone but i want it for some reason becaus ei have this side kic.k omg this phone goes dead so quicc in a hour and im like i havent even been using the phone so now i want me one of these they just arent selling it anymore im disappointed

  • I have two of these phones, the scarlet, and the emerald (my mothers). I have had a replacement phone and battery, and the phone is having the same problems, its sluggish, and turns its self off randomly. My moms does the same only it shuts off more frequently (at least once a day), and she was told it was the battery. I called to ask about the issue again, and I was informed that there is an update for it, but I would have to do it from my home computer. I was then advised I would need to purchase a usb cable for this phone, which I am upset about since it didn't come with one. Now I have to probably go spend money just to try and fix the phones, and waste money on a cable, I will probably never use again. The phone looked nice, but it turned out to be very dissapointing.

  • I want my money back. Two phones in 14 months, now out of warranty. No manufacture should be allowed to foster this junk on the public. T-mobile or Sony should be required to make good on this terrible product. How can I get my money back?

  • Hi, I'm using a Sony Ericsson TM506 and when trying to access an option in the menu, it display blank but U press the OPEN button it displays it correctly. For example, when U open the CONTACT, it seems to be blank, but when select OPEN, U can see the detail concerning the contact that U have saved. So How could I resolve that please?

  • Yup....I'm browsing on here trying to find solutions. It's still shuts off...Piece o' crap....hard to navigate, spent money on memory and it doesn't recognize it... I did like the big outside time display sold me. But getting it to come on is another trick. Now I'm suppose to upgrade to a text phone...I think it's all a scam.

  • from nigeria.i have sold over 10 pcs of the refurbished phone and people keep on asking for more sugesting that the model is good. my wife uses it and it is rugged and battery lasts for a long time. it is portable and good for women. it is a good model and i like it.

  • have had the phone for a few months but from the start there have been problems and yes it is extremly sluggish at times but it is a good phone but the processing time it has is way too long and slow and some buttons randomly stopped working i had too shut it down for a while then restart it then the buttins were working fine the phone for minimal use is good but once u start to down load, its down hill from there honestly i didn't expect this from sony they have a better reputation than this

  • very bad phone.I have this one for 15 months and only problems.Bad softwear.Never buy this phone.

  • phone bite no record of missed or recieved calls only if the feels likde it somebody calls you the call drops and you would expect to revert back to incoming call list and guess what yuo see the guy that called 4 days ago the phone is a failure sony snap out of it why go out of your way to sell junk crap

  • Quit trying to put the hype on even t-mobile have problems helping you thru the problems and they are looking at the features on the screen to help walk you thru it. Reading a manual only goes so far, the average child knows how to make calls, text and some of the other stuff, don't try to be rocket scientist manual reading is not the problem, the problem is this phone is another sony loser products.

  • I totally agree w/you some people need to quit turning the pages experience is the best teacher. They need to stop making up excuses the phone is crap olla.

  • The phone was new I had not even had it six months before experiencing problems w/the phone. They replaced it and I am still experiencing the same problems. Please do not try to hype this phone it's horrible. I have replaced the phone once, the phone was new and it slow when you make calls, make a mistake in texting the recovery time is slow, it shut off by itself, turn it off and it time a long time to turn on, if it turn on, get many drop calls, then it take a period of time to get the reception back. Do not hype the goodness of this phone I have seen cheaper phones perform better. Sony is still not up w/technology times and it's a shame many companies are moving forward they are moving backward.

  • who wouldnt want this phone

  • This phone is good when it comes to storing files, making calls, and I think it has a great battery life. The problem is that it's slow (sluggish), freezes or turns off from time to time, the transfer cable is different than the regular USB one you get, the memory card is M2 (not SD), and the "T-Mobile" display in the screen is annoying if you're using a wallpaper since it blocks the image. Being notified of a new event is this phone's worse feature because you get a notification screen for anything (anything!) and it slows it down. If you spelled something wrong while texting you get "Word Not Found..." in a giant display pop-up. The same with new text messages or again, anything. You also put words faster on the phone while texting than how it's displaying them. Overall the phone is good, but the downfall is the sluggishness.

  • With out a doubt the worst phone I have ever owned. Constantly locks up, lags, or otherwise does something it was not supposed to. Stay away from it, or Sony in general for that matter.

  • I have this phone and my sister gave it to me.. The best phone and its features are the best. Pictures taken by its camera are good and sound quality is the best compared to other phone brands. I use it as a music player too. All negative comments about this phone specifically about its hang ups and turning off by itself are just lies. Excellent phone. For me, I think am the only one here in the philippines with this phone..=)

  • this is a great phone. and those of you who cant send picture msgs really need to talk to your provider. it also helps if you save most of your info on your memory card and not on the phone. that helps speed up most functions on this inexpensive durable phone. and as far as battery life. when you purches this wonderful product, take the time and shut the phone off and let it charge TILL IT TELLS YOU CHARGE COMPLETE. DUH

  • We have two of the tm506. It would be a good phone for a kid. Dont buy this if you own a business it locks up ALOT. Cant press 1 for english, cant hangup on solisiters, cant see the screen (because its blank). We have the update cable and did the update (several times). when you call tech suport thats the first thing they say is do an update. We have returned the phones a few times (fourth phone now)and still have the same problem. Some people say (its a free phone) no its not unless you want to be married to t-mobile. The first phone I purchased when it first hit the streets about 17-18 months ago and it was around $150 with the 2 year contract then. Good luck if you get one. I belive this phone has a software issue.

  • I have had my phone since July. I have had to replace it 3 times because it will not make calls, hangs up on calls in the process because the phone lags so bad, can not use my camera anymore, turns it self off, battery sucks, call history sucks, deletes messages before I get a chance to read them and so many more things. Now t mobile wont give me a different phone cause I exchanged them in the store. This phone is the worst phone I have ever had.

  • dont lie this phone is da BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've had this phone for almost a year now, and I really do enjoy this phone. I can put music, movies, videos, pictures on it via the computer, which is nice. The display is bright with sharp colors, which is really good when I play movies and videos. The music player is very good too, with various sound settings and equalizer. Calls sound very good and texting is no problem. Picture quality isn't too bad with the camera. The "pan and zoom" feature is nice when viewing pictures. The size took a little gettin' used to though(I had a small Samsung flip phone before this one), but overall this is a really nice phone.

  • One of the worst phones ive ever had. Ive actually gone out of my way to tell anyone that looks here not to get it. I'ts slow, choppy and unpredictable similar to a computer with a virus

  • When I try to get my camera on, to take a picture, it brings up the loading page and immediately goes back to my main page. Can anyone help me?

  • I have a problem of finding the last dialed call. it does not show me the last call i made.

  • Yes i had this problem and if you have droped it then that is what starts to happen i have been in the middle of phone calls and it will happen. They will tell you to Restart your phone but after a while it just dosn't stop. I LOVE MY PHONE and even though this happens i deal cuzz i just love my phone!

  • do a software update

  • I have been using this phone for 8 months now, and just couple days ago it has started to turn off by itself. The battery is charged, and somethis it can be ok for whole night, and another time I have turn it back on every half an hour. Did anybody had this prblem with TM506?

  • I think this phone sucks.Very weak battery.Very slow motion.Returned one get a second (because the stupid contract with t-mobile)Second one the same.Think to use it like a spare.Think to buy Nokia 5800.Heard its great one.

  • I feel that a lot of the people that purchase this phone don't take the time to read the manual that come with it..... the TM506 is a great phone..... for those of you that like to text a lot more than talk on your phone.... it great.... just take the time to learn as to how this feature works.... you would not be desapointed .... the 3G technology on it is great.... the web comes quit (at about 1 sec w/3G full signal)... there is no radio on it.... only nokias have that.... it is better to buy the memory card reader than the usb cable ... i recomended..... so please get to know your phone like you would your first date .... adios i gracias....

  • go to www.sonyericsson.com then downloal PC-Suite 5.0.0.91 version. then use.

  • Good Signal, Sounds Good, it's a Sony Ericsson. Only problem is that's a slow version! Open apps. or everything you want to work with it is slow, CPU slow! Is a good equipment, just the slow of the CPU don't make it Perfect!

  • Hmmm.... I can hear my heart

  • very nice but only cuitable to tmobil

  • you gotta download the drivers from their webwite...

  • I have the Cable USB Sony Ericson for Transfer Data to Computer . After use a several times . Then use again . Pug in phone with cable to PC . IT show new hardware found but cannot use ( cannot install Driver wizard . Please Help . Thanks a lot .

  • this is the 2nd TM506 i've had. the camera just stops working and the messages delete themselves. the phone is not good.

  • the reason you can't send picture message because your receiver is using factory Unlocked phone , this TM506 is the same as Z770i but the TM506 is a little bit slower then Z770i because T-Mobile have to down load there software on it , this phone is supper for a Free phone at T_Mobile , good picture 2PIX & video is 100% satisfies very loud & clear music player , the best thing on this phone is the screen solution supper clear & bright i love this phone i had expensive phone before like Sony c905 or other Motorola phone but this TM506 not bad at all , good luck people.

  • Hello People It's a FREE phone from T_MOBILE what are you expecting the best Phone , free phone is for communication only lucky this phone has some other features , if you want good phone go buy the Sony Ericsson C905i .

  • I got this phone just two days back. It takes photographs pretty well and video recording is not bad at all. I just have one problem I have no idea why I can't send the pictures I take to someone as a message and how do I use the internet on this phone?? Also is their an FM radio in it or not? Everytime I try sending the pictures as a message using a phone number to someone I keep getting an error, and I can't send it to an email address either. The GPS doesn't seem to work, I need help with this.

  • They give you one ear phone, you can only stick in one ear. No memory card included. It has a stupid Sony Ericsson plug on the bottom of the phone so you can't use any plug-in device but theirs. This phone is also a giant finger print magnet. I returned this phone so fast that I didn't have time to see how much this phone stinks.

  • Contrary to what many reviews have said, this is a 3G phone, and missed calls do show up by the arrow on the front screen, and when open. Great sound, and my red looks awesome.

  • This is the WORSE phone I have EVER had. It is a WORTHLESS piece of crap. Navigation is impossible, I can't text, can't make outgoing calls, recieve calls. When I record a 2 second video and want to delete the video, it will prompt me with "Delete Failed." It's slow and can't seem to catch up with itself. It glitches out and freezes all the time. This is the 3rd phone TM506 I have bought. Waste of money and your time. I had better results with a an ancient Nokia from 2000, with a 1 megabyte memory! Overall, whoever designed this phone should forever hang their head in shame. Once again, WORTHLESS piece of crap!

  • you have to debrand the phone to get the radio feature

  • yep

  • Purchased this phone and am on my second one in less than a month and it's going back. The battery life is poor!!!!!!! I use the phone very little and the battery has to be charged every other day! I find this unacceptable. I'm sorry I purchased this phone.

  • I recently purchased this phone and I like the features. Kool little phone, very satisfied!!

  • Awesum phone. the red colored one is sweeeettt.

  • The information is false, the phone no have Radio.

  • does this phone have picture caller I.D.?

  • can anyone say how much is the expandable memory in this plz anyone help me know this.............

  • I got this phone for few month now. Overall its really nice, especially for the price. Its got a nice keypad feel, however the outside top clam is made out of cheap plastic, and it looks really cheap, but once opened its a different story. And the phone is pretty damn slow.. so if you text fast or know your access to the phone and you press really fast, it won't like lag..but it just runs slow..at times.

  • how do slide of the back cover to get to the battery/sim card?

  • could someone tell me where i could find and use the fm radio?

  • i have been using it for 3 months now and i say it has a good fell and a good fast im and email but how do you use the gps and radio i dont know how to use and find that somebody hep please

  • errr. make sure you plug in your headset ofcourse to make your fm working, and not all station is not recognize by RDS.

  • You must have used some crappy phone. Most average phones out there lasts for at least 3 days standby.

  • the camera on my phone doesnt work for months, can anyone tell me how to solve this problem

  • If you are disapointed, that's only your fault. This is not the manufacturer page, it's just a page about mobile phones. And if you read well, that's a disclaimer in the end of the page: "WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE INFORMATION IS 100% CORRECT". Just let me see if I can understand, you bought a phone without reading the specs and now you're mad about it? BIG LOL FOR YOU. Please think before posting that type of things in the site. Sorry for my bad english Best regards to all, James

  • Please, What is the max. M2 memory capacity it can get?

  • Where again is FM radio with RDS? If it's not there, then the specifications on this site should be corrected. I purchased the phone in part based on this faulty information and am pretty grumpy about it. Now I hesitate to trust anything I read here.

  • This is actually a pretty great phone. I love it. I've had it for about 5 months now. My favorite thing about it is the picture id with text and personalized text ringtone for contacts. I love that I can have a j.holiday text tone for my Boyfriend and a regular for everyone else. The screen is a little slow when you open it up, but you get used to it. The color is brilliant and the camera is amazing. I would def recomend this to someone.

  • Missed calls do show up, the icon is a red arrow and you have a missed call log dumbas

  • the C905 ??? you got what you pay for the C905 cost you $500-600 and you want it to be free ?

  • Piece of crap. I have had mine replaced 2 times and am requesting a new phone all to gether. It is slow, screens blackout flash, have to press request buttons multiple times, missed calls to not show up,...I could go on. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!

  • the processor for TM506 is super slower, not a good phone for me.

  • Hi guys, I am upto buying on of these from T_Mobile. Did anyone try to upload games (I am specifically interested in T_Mobile TM506, as they lock them sometimes)? Thanks.

  • Yes baby, comes with T-mobile and works like a charm. I only whish that T-mo starts to range more Sony Ericsson phones. I'd like the C905 for sure!

  • go buy yourself another phone .

  • it really looks alike SE Z770i and Z780 ehehe

  • So what is it?

  • hahaha!! sony ericsson rocks!

  • To all SE owner. Secret message in service menu. At standby mode press > * < < * < * then select info then select MODEL INFO then press 2,4,6,8 you'll be amazed =D (> right, < left, * asterisk)

  • ive had this phone for about a week and i love it, although its laggy and slow navigating through menus. but once i updated the firmware with SEUS it didn't seem as laggy anymore. It came with Telenav, a gps software, which is only a 2 week trial, so i downloaded a free gps program called amAzegps. I also put in opera mini because it loads websites so much faster than the original browser (on 2g). no other complaints so far other than the slow interface

  • your absolutely right dude... your the man...

  • no matter what phone is it, none will ever suit your need. so wake up and start realizing that these phones are not perfect. if you are unhappy about the little glitches here and there, go get yourself a new phone or don't use a phone at all!

  • Oh, okay Thanks =D

  • $29.99 after rebates from t-mobile, $160 out right

  • The screen pops up so slow and the battery does not hold a charge very well. My missed calls only show up if I look at call history does anyone know how I can have my miss calls to pop up on my screen with out going to call history

  • it is most interesting *-*

  • Cheap? how much was it? Please tell me..

  • w980 is better

  • I have had this phone for 2 weeks now. Overall, I like this phone because it's cheap and has good features. I can go to Google maps and GPS with this phone. However, the battery life is so bad especially when I use it for YM, GPS and e-mail. It's only take 2 days stand by for me and 8-9 hours for talk time. It's too bad. Now, I am looking for the battery replacement and it might be longer life time than eom. Any suggestion?

  • if u start using gps on this fone the battery will be dead in a few minutes. i had this fone and took it back because of poor battery life. the response time was slow also. i put a song as my ring tone and it rang very loud. i did like the feel of the keypad which made texting fun.

  • I found the in store demo a bit sluggish in response, but the phone I bought has a GUI that is plenty fast. I wouldn't call it instantaneous, but not at all a problem.

  • i have gt a samsung omina.. and i like this phone... so should i stay with omina or take this phone??

  • about 48hours of standby time.

  • There is none.

  • For the average user this phone is perfect. I typically spend maybe 5-10 minutes on my phone daily, and send like 5-10 text messages as well. I use this nothing more than as a phone, I am a pre-paid T-Mobile customer and have been for about 3 years, I just don't spend enough time on my phone to see myself commiting to a contract. The camera on this phone is fairly nice, I bought a cheap OEM USB cable and it works great, plan to get a 2GB M2 card as well for more storage of MP3 ringtones and photo space. You can find them online for a fraction of the cost. I personally love the design and look of this phone. I got a new emerald version of it for about 20% off of retail, so I am quite pleased with it. The only downside to this phone is the constant need to charge it. I have to charge it every other night even with my minimal usage of it. Kinda annoying when my 4 year old Motorola was about once a week. But I will deal with the constant need to recharge for the overall sound quality performance I have gained by upgrading to this phone. If you are fairly regular phone user and need it for texting, calls and a picture every now and then. I don't see why this phone wouldn't be for you, just remember the battery life that they state is a lie and rated the phone down significantly for me.

  • How do you get to the fm radio feature?

  • can someone tell me how long the battery work at standby or talk time ? :) thx

  • Moderately high SAR level. That's one reason battery is draining very fast

  • 50 hours of talk time?? G3 network??? Can you explain your typos??

  • Yes, the phone can use mp3s as ringtones. THe phone is beautiful in my opinion, extremely fast on the 3G network. I've benchmarked its speed more than once, and it is always around 770kbps download and almost 100kbps upload. the sound is good on the speaker, for music. The speakerphone is ok, not nearly as loud as the music for some reason, but better than my previous phones, so I'm not complaining. The call volume is decent, I think it could be louder, but again... better or the same as any of my previous phones, so no complaints. Camera is nice, pics look good, but I don't really use that feature. The only real DRAWBACK to this phone: Battery Life. Forget whatever you read. the phone only gets about 50 hours of charge life with Bluetooth turned off, no use of internet, gps turned off and maybe about 15 minutes of calling per day, no texting. this is in a G3 Network Environment. I've been told by the Tmobile retailer that it is just the nature of the phone. I've been also told that this is one of the fastest G3 phones around, and that is part of the reason for the fast draining of the battery. It is with certainty the fastest G3 phone that Tmobile has to offer. Faster than the G1 phone. Using the phone costantly tethered to my Nokia N800 tablet PC through bluetooth, and sporadically accessing internet thorughout the day, including downloading youtube videos, and letting my e-mail and all other applets costantly access the internet, refreshing every 10 minutes through it, the battery lasts from morning to night, and is left with about 30% life by the end of the day. The more you access internet, the more it drains battery. All in all. It is definitely usable, but must be recharged daily if using it heavily. I really like this phone but I am bummed about the battery life. I bought the phone expecting longer lasting battery, but I've been told that had I bought other G3 phones I might have been even more disappointed in that regard. BTW I also called Sony Ericsson and asked about it. THey just said: "Do you want to send the phone in for repair at your expense?" I said no and asked if there were any known issues regarding the phone's battery life, and they had no idea.

  • Can you use the mp3 files as ring tones?

  • i think the is 1 of the best phones tmobile has out......i can wait to get mines!!!!......but yea....i heard from ALOT of people that sidekicks really suck and nobody like RAZRs anymore their played out but i really love the look and all the cool features.

  • nice phone and does this phone has a 3G?

  • Does anyone know why the screen shows up slowly?

  • Actually that's not true. In my other phones (Samsung T619, Sidekick 3) I received regular sized pics. If a friend sent me a 240 x 320 pic, that's the size I received it in. But now I receive the pics 120 x 60 IF anyone knows how to fix it, may you please tell me. BTW it's true I can receive pics thru bluetooth but not everyone will always be within the maximum amt of feet. AND I tried sending a pic from my email, but the same thing...I get them tiny.

  • MMS on any phone shrinks the pic size. If you want reg size pics, use e-mail, or bluetooth.

  • what's the difference between this and Z780?? i'm sure the hardware are quite identical..just different looks? is this only available from T-Mobile?

  • Hey wanted to know how or what to change so I can get actual sized pictures in MMS instead of really tiny.

  • i turn the GPS off already but the battery still ends fast.On the SE website it says the talk time up to 9 hours and standby up to 2 weeks but mine only up to 2 days for standby

  • How come the screen shows up very slowly?

  • i love this phone! the 2.0 megapixel camera takes really clear pictures!its very sleek, and fast. the only thing i dont like about it is that the exterior could have been more modern...like a bigger color screen, etc. and also, the loudness of the speaker when ur talking on it-seems a little lower than most phones even with the volume all the way up. if that doesnt bother you then go for it! its really nice!! !!!and about all these other people saying it has a low battery lifetime... hello?? plug it in the charger! thats what your soppoused to do! atleast everyday. what did you expect? to use a phone for a whole week without having to charge it? c'mon people! lol.

  • can we flash chinese rom into the phone

  • the battery end fast because of the GPS you have to close it: go to GPS - settings - disable GPS. and that's it.

  • I had the tm506 for 3 days. I ended up returning it due to poor battery life. It would last 2 days with light use on 2G network. By light use I mean about 30-40 mins per day of talk and less than 5 texts. No music, BT or GPS use. Otherwise I liked the handset. The screen was quite nice.

  • I got this phone yesterday. IT IS AWESOME!!! It works perfectly fine. I had a k750i before, and its basically the perfect upgrade in a flip form. Only downside tho... no light... oh well =]. Next up... the XPERIA!!!

  • the phone dosent look bad

  • I like! I think i gonna buy. Maybe is not perfect but how bout this: HSDPA GPS $159 with no contract

  • Battery life will be aroung 8-9 hours talk time

  • Nothing is more annoying than clueless posters that thrash phones with baseless comments. 1. This phone has a slick design - find me another flip phone by other brands that looks this good. And again, design is a matter of taste. 2. It's exclusive to T-Mobile and T-mobile commissioned SE to make this phone and price it low to mid-range so that they can reach a greater customer base. So don't expect flash specs. Not everyone needs or wants or can afford a Swiss-Army knife of a phone. 3. SE has been maligned of having remained stagnant. I don't see ground-breaking or earth-shattering efforts from other makers either.

  • I've had a chance to play around with this phone and while it is not a pda nor extremely nice to look at; it really has alot going for it! This is probably one of the most well equipt handsets I've seen. It has an option to tag photos with gps. It also has a video editor in which you can add music, captions, and special effects. Its pretty impressive. Before you shoot it down, give it a chance, you'll be impressed.

  • Same old style from SE... I am so tired with their design... haiz...! no innovations. SE must relace all R and D team. This phone will be a failure again...

  • ordinary SE phone.. dont need it anymore

  • this phone does not have the fm radio in it. SE took that out so tmobile could afford it. Not like it was a big cost, but the phone is nice, no lag, great feel. The green color it also comes in is hit or miss

  • What is the battery lifetime?

  • I do not think that sony is tryeing anymore... and when the heck is the xperia coming out>???

  • well I'm a SE fan too but nothing to expect to much from this phone...

  • This will probably 'Sony Ericsson' 's last phone .. until they split up or give up all toghether SE R.I.P:(

  • Specs is soooooo bad and looks

  • Im no 1 SE Fan but my country Mozambik need more thats phone

  • big ups to sony ericsson for having location services on low end phones. this phone has a big heart!

  • This phone will be available exclusively on T-Mobile USA tomorrow, September 3, 2008. It is currently listed as "Coming Soon" on T-Mobile's website. Check it our here

  • Actually, the phone will be available September 3rd for Tmobile. Features are good; gps, camera, media player, smart search, zoom on the web is nice, and 3G whenever Tmobile will release that, not sure. Good feel and look, I like SE designs, the TFT screen I can see it outside no problems.

  • It's nice phone but can't video calling.

  • Good...... Balenced design. Now SE releasing good mid range phones.

  • great design

  • how very random by SE

  • Looks nicer than Z780 in my view, even though it has the same specifications...

  • its ugly

  • Its Keypard look like Motorola, i see the design is bad, but feature is really good for a low end phone.

  • Excelent mid range phone Very good.

  • this fone s.u.c.k.s but i have to stop saying that since i am a die hard SE fan. :)

  • i think SE's designs for their flip phones are pretty bad.

  • No complains, low end phone. For me its a very decent phone 4 its price range. A very solid ordinary phone.

  • Nothing special... and yet again SE has made another phone which diverses only by its style from the previous models... its becoming simply boring.

  • a very simple mobile with good functions for my mom. can makes call, i guess thats enought. when its goin to be available? can anyone tel me?

  • Unique Phone, and yes its a Low range phone so dont complain about its features!
