Hello, I used to have this phone a long time ago, but replaced it with a new "smart" phone. Now, fast forward 12 years - I want to see if I can extract a few photo's that I remembered I had on my old sonyericsson w-300 phone. I got this phone second hand and nothing I have found since comes close to the quality, this a brilliant little phone, the UI is easy to use, the sound quality is amazing and it's a lot tougher than it looks. my one sadly died as the cable that connects the screen to the rest of the phone wore away from 8 years of constant use and I can't find a replacement, so that's something to keep an eye on. also, if you have more than 99 songs on the phone the Walkman will sometimes glitch, making the phone freeze, which is an annoying inconvenience, other than that I have nothing but good things to say.

Good phone... VERY reliable. Since 2007 (just had to get a new battery in 2012). Good speakers, small & compact to fit in jeans. Don't hope too much for the camera but gets the job done. Good work SonyE !

Going on 5 years now and I have no desire to change. I bought this phone with only two requirements 1) good reception and 2) durability. The phone has exceeded in both categories. The past week gave me a bit of a scare as the phone would shut off just after booting. But thankfully, after a five dollar investment in a new battery, things are good as ever.

This is a great phone, one of the first one purchased from Sony and after the experience with this, everyone at home as well as in-laws have one or the other Sony Handsets. About W300i, purchased it in Feb-2007 for 8450/- and today proud to say it is working just as great as it did on day one of purchase. Had a problem with the display in 2009, spent 300 to repair it and some 500/- for the battery in 2011 though. Working as it did even after the repair and battery change. Overall, This phone is still going great guns. Thank you SONY for this great experience.

It's 1 of d best phone ve ever used i dnt use fone 4 3months but its case was quite diff. d battery is superb it can last up 2 5days of normal usage,very rugged,ve been usin 4 more dan a year nd ve never have a flex prob. Good Quality sound but does not support WAVE formaat of sound, i have many ringtones in wave format and it does not play the tune, but camera is horrible. I am not able to configure email but with gprs i am able to login in sites like yahoo,gmail but not able to configure dedicated emails

Using a 4 gig M2 card, works fine. Just uses more battery power. Battery needs charging after 6 days instead of 8, no big deal. Great sound, call someone when using the earphones it sounds like they're sitting beside you!

Accepted that the microphone has not been that sensitive and I need to shout over the phone, otherwise the other end will not be able to hear me clearly. I purchased my w300i 3 years ago and I am still using it presently. The Walkman feature is definitely the best feature of this phone. The sound quality is crystal clear and I think it is one of the very few phones with such superb sound quality for its time. The Mega Bass setting on the Walkman feature is phenomenal, especially when you listening to music via the ear phones. The only down faults with the phone is it's small screen and terrible camera quality. I've seen many older phones that take much clearer pictures than the W300i. However, besides the poor camera quality, I think it's an awesome, stylish flip phone.

I paid £159 for the Robbie Williams edition of this phone a few years back, and I must say that it is a nice phone. Voice/music quality is the best I've heard because of Sony's Walkman! Battery is one of the main things of this phone too. You can leave the phone unattended for about 3 days before the battery runs out. The big Cons however are: very small screen size, you cannot add any apps (but you can add small wallpapers and add your own MP3's to use as a ringtone); Low quality VGA Camera creates the worst pictures ever -very grainy/blurred pictures which lacks clarity and colour; display and buttons too small and cramped; needs Sony special M2 memory cards. Would I buy this phone? No not at that price again! However, I now want an Android phone, but not at Iphone hiked prices!

my handset is aprox. 4 yrs old and still working! The hinges are "tired",but they are doing their job. The batery lasts 3-4 days. It is a very good mobile,too bad is not in production. I allso have a z530 that I am very pleased of and is practicaly the same phone.

What flip-count??? I have this phone since Dec-2007(if i remember correctly), and I had no problem. Now I notice that the battery give me sickness signs. This means the battery do not resist 7 full days, but only 5-4 days.

I have a W300, its nice and handy. But the problem is that, I cannot save any FM channels in the set. I tried the given procedure (I also have Sony Ericsson 810i, the channels saves normally in this set)but whenever I shut off the FM radio, and later starts it, I can not find the channels (in the list; and it shows empty). This mobile phone is so light weight but ironically, so robust. Out of all the mobile phones that I've had over the years, this little fellow had to be my favourite. Simple content, Java enabled (so it could run bespoke software) and durable. Sadly like all phones, they are eventually discontinued so RIP w300.

Well folks, I just had to say........I have loved my W300i for 2 1/2 yrs and she has finally started to bite the dust. she's been thrown, dropped countless times, withstood harsh conditions and still kept on working. The screen is starting to tweak out on me and only the speakerphone is working now. I bought this phone for the music player and have been very satisfied with the sound quality. It does have a video player, but can only play 3gp files. I had this phone for over 2 years, until I was dumb enough to spill water over it. It actually survived the water, simply the charger port corroded and I was unable to charge it anymore.

this phone is fantastic. i got it in australia on vodafone network and now use it on vodafone nz. all the specs are great. awsome sound with and without headphones and carries alot. easy to navigate. and the camera is great too. have had it for 2.5yrs and is still going strong. i have a 2nd phone with telecom also but i won't ever give up my sony until it dies. I have had this phone for a year or so and have loved it the whole time. But the best thing is that my daughter had it in her purse one day while retrieving the mail from the back seat of our van; she accidentally dropped it on the ground without her knowing. My husband drove over it and guess what! It still works! Even the camera! The only thing that happened to it was that the internal screen got cracked. But closed you cannot tell anything happened! I use it to this day! I love it still!

I was pretty satisfied with the phone. Good sound, fast performance, good upgrade abilities, great conectivity and support. Altough my phone wasn't that reliable. It had a few hardware defects that forced me to get a new phone. Yet before it crashed it was great and long lasting (battery).

I have got this fone couple a years ago i loved it alot but i was disapointed that it didn't last a month then went to the repair shop for software and somthing called flash(dnt know exatly wt is that) then i got it back but after another month i took it back again but this time they said they r unable to repair it. Goods: good sound the rings creator fair internet great phone for calls with good quality the photo editor the bads: hell alot of lags music lags alot sometimes VERY fragile the softwere breaks down hope thats helpful. Did any 1 had any of these problems or was it just my unit. Lots a thanks

I have this phone for 2.5 years let me tell u something about it , U can flip it shoot it throw it make it wet spit on it and still working like a charm , no software problem at all i had to do the software once coz a virus and that's it ,I don't recommend it if u want a came phone it's the best in Music the head set it really gold u can feel the base like u are in the club the screen is not so wow but do the trick it's clear just normal the Voice is so clear the Signal is good the battery OMG it last for so so long till now it's so strong after more than 2years of usage If u want a phone not so $$ and can take the hit take this phone by the way my flip counter is 69.926 times and still working I'm telling u this is the good deal u can't find any damn phone now in the price spec that can offer ....

using this beauty for the last 2 years. Its really worth the money. The sound is awesome. Much better then the expensive music handsets from other brands. Camera is Ok not that good. The sound from the headphones is amazing, but could have been a little louder like the W700i. The phone also is very stylish and makes a nice style statement.

But we all three loved this phone for durability, simplicity and music... Yes yes the camera isnt up to snuff but all else is great. Oh by the way I got a top score of just over 9 million on the quadrapop game lol!! Go Me!!!

totally love it, when i bought this phones it had the same price of the motorola rarz v3 and it has better quality and more features and nobody can,t steal this phone because it looks very simple phone and nobody believe it has all those features. i dropped it 100 times and still working excellent, only thing i can complain is the camera but after that it could be the best phone ever and im not going to change it

this is going to be the phone that i buy as an upgrade from the z310a, the z310a holds 1000 messages at a time which is a pro of course (for all the big texters), it alerts you when you hit 965 b/c of ltd memory. as long as you have the memory saved for it, I guess that could be +/- an amt of msgs, but i only have 1.1 MB left and the memory is not full at 1125 messages.

Hi, is there a way to increase the inbox capacity of SE phones? Is there like a patch or a software update that i can install to increase the inbox capacity of this phone? I believe that this phone can only store 150 or 200 SMS messages (inbox, outbox, sent messages, drafts). I also have a Z610i phone which i noticed that it can store more messages compared to my W300i. I'm planning to buy a new SE phone as well (preferably Walkman), how do i know the SMS capacity of the phone just by looking at its features posted on this website? Solid and reliable, this phone has never missed a beat. Not the best camera and the screen is a bit on the small side, but the colours are great, the keyboard is good in both size and feedback and the case hasn't picked up any scratches. And the music player rocks, it holds a charge for 3-5 days - I'm only getting a new one to update (and this is a bit on the tubby side) but I'm so hoping the next one I get is as good.

PS: If you get the WSOD (White screen of Death) you have 50% of saving your phone. you can try and hook it up to your PC using the USB cable and update the firmware of the cell phone (It's under the support section), if that won't help you than you'll have to fix the screen contacts inside the phone.

Great features for the price. HOWEVER! I've had it 3 months, and am very careful, but it has had one small fall. This has ruined it, if it is closed quickly it goes dead, caller-ID is broken, and other anomalies like instead of saying "message delivered" for delivery reports it will give my current call credit balance. TL;DR in short: great features for the money, bad quality of design.

I've been using this phone since February 2007 till now. The battery is superb. It is still consistent till today. I don't seem to need to charge it more often as most batteries deteriorate. Very satisfied with this phone.

The only major problem with the phone is the camera which is poor, but if you don't mind that it's a great phone. I had this phone in black and it was very slick, not the good kind. Every time i would reach into my pocket to get it out it would almost always fall out of my hand. the phone other than that was ok. But i would not recomend this phone to anyone and i would not buy it again

I would advise against anyone buying this atleast from India. The sound was pretty good, so was the battery, and the phone appeared to be value for money but the software used to get stuck at times. Sometimes memory card was not being detected. I had to flash it once (because of white screen syndrome) within the warranty period . It fell down later and again was not powering on. The authorised service people say that I need to shell out Rs 3500 to get it replaced. Please be informed that this phone is not at all meant for any rough handling.

I love the w300!!!! I've had it now for about 10 months and everything about it is great - it took many hard falls and yet the scratches are very limited - the battery performance is FABULOUS - I put a 1GB memory card in it and it works great, you can even remove it while it's on and it won't complain! - great looks! - comes with all the gadgets needed I wasn't expecting much of the camera that's why i'm satisfied, the camera sucks at night, in daytime it works just fine all in all THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED EXACTLY :D

People, keep the phone out of the Babies mouth it is not a toy, also , it should be kept in a cse like most expensive devises, respect your phone and it will serve you the way you care for it, i hear stories and they always end up with how many times they dropped there phone. I am on this phone and it is a hand me down from my daughter, I cleaned it wiped out the baby spt and it works like a new phone, bye the way I have a new and supposably beter phone and I use this one due to the fact it does everything it said it will do and my smart daughter did her homework and knows what to and not to purchase for her dollar, I saw her make the buffalo shit twice and got a dome from the nickle so there ya go folks

Hey peeps i've been usin this fone for 11mnths now. It's ear buds give u real gr8 musical experience. Its a music edition n sure lives up to it. No match for any other brands music fone effect. No probs with software(mine is an origi one made in sweeden). It connects to PC internet fine and gprs too is gr8. MMS and Edge werk at gr8 speeds. Display is real Awesome like all other SE fones. Memory capacity is cool.Cam is ok but this is not a K series fone!!! Some dis adv i could say is no options for 'not saving sent messages' and the ear fones base gets a lill loose afta heavy usage. dats it... Over all gr8 fone 8.5/10 frm me.... Swami www ji (India)

This phone ROCKS! I came across it by accident...and fell in love with it immediately. I bought it about a month later. I've had it for about 1.5 years now, and it's been awesome throughout. Even now, I think it's one of the coolest phones made by Sony Ericcson. If you are on a low budget, this is probably the best since it's an old model.

This phone is not bad in my opinion. I've had it for half a year, and it hasn't failed me one bit. It never freezes up, and is quite fast. I usually bring it into the shower with me for music, so light exposure to water has never been a problem for me. I've dropped this phone a countless number of times after the 1 year mark (when I felt like getting a new one), and it only ended up with FEW scratches. This is a very good phone for its price.

I love this phone. It is sensitive to water damage and is a little delicate. When I water damaged/destroyed my first one I went out and bought the exact same one again. Nice Features: Voice dialling/receiving Voice name of person interrupts on call waiting - very handy if you want to ignore or receive that person while on another call. Address book is comprehensive and I use it for all my necessary info, email addresses, web addresses, street addresses, birthday/reminders etc. FM radio is great. Music is great. Have Bluetoothed it to several people and get lots of laughs/funny looks as it sounds so authentic - especially in the library & airport immigration/baggage control. Hey I've had this phone for ages, It's great Sometimes it freezes when I'm playing a game but generally it's good, the mp3 player is good as is the video the camera takes clear shots if you fix the settings to how you like them to come out. Overall it's a nice compact phone.

This its a really good phone have mine for like a year and still works great, true the camera sux but i never use it nor need to. i use it most as an mp3 player the sound and earplugs are great, display its cool too and i have a dozen of flash themes that make it look great.. works with a 4 g m2 so i have heaps o mp3... really a good choice also really resistant i have dropped it so many times yet not a bad thing... if you want a cheap cool phone this one its the best option

Dude .. i has been use this W300 about 1++year, the phone is great, no problem at all until one day i am try to update the software then the camera not function coz wrong driver etc, send to SE service center they restore back, this is hardcore phone for those who dun appreciated the pretty thing then this is yours. I am still using it to hear the music with sony MDR-NX3 and the sound was SUPERB..try it you will love it. i dun need 3G, camera as i have the P1 to do that.I give 4 of 5 star.

Interpolated means that it takes pixels that it knows are real and it makes up pixels around them using that known data. This makes a larger image. I think it can do a 1200x1600 that way. It's a little fuzzy/less clear because of the made-up pixels. Great phone for the money. I've had two. Only thing I can say is I dropped the first one once and the screens started flaking out, not displaying properly or at all sometimes. I'd have to close the phone and reopen it to get the screen to display. Also I've got a 1GB card upgrade that was buggy straight out of the package I'm troubleshooting right now... ugh

ive had this phone for almost a year now, and i have a few problems with it. 1) it sometimes doesn't even recognize my micro ms card (using 1gb) whenever i listen to music. 2) it's turned off automatically twice whenever i hit dial on a contact. 3) im really unfortunate, but i hav a giant sticker popping up at the central bottom of the phone. 4) the mp3 player makes snaps and pop noises while changing tracks. 5) you cannot turn off camera shutter sounds (unless if you do know how to, please let me know). 6) sms storage capacity is big yet limited. 7) you (i) cannot enter the browser offline in menu, or main screen. 8) videos cannot be viewed widescreen 9) this is just me, but i like the option of gapless playback. i had that on my samsung x660 but this phone has a 1 second gap before looping again. 10) you cannot zoom on the largest picture size. 11) sometimes i get the white screen of death. 12) i wish the screen was at least 176x220 overall, its a good phone, but for me it has a lot of problems..i wished the annoying sticker at the bottom of my phone was removed, cuz everytym i look at it i just want to smash it against the wall or something. i really regret choosing this over the z550 at the time, since the z550 was cheaper, and had a bigger screen and more features.

attach your usb cord to your pc, the phone memory and the memory card appears, its better to put the vidoe on your memory card. convert it to a format the phone can understan ag 3gp

I found it a lot easier to use a small piece of that non slip plastic sheet you can get from almost any $2 shop. Simply turn the phone off then cover the back cover of the phone with the the antislip material and slide the cover off as smoothly and with only just enough strength as it takes to dislodge the cover. Great phone! after a dead w810 i got this phone and, beside the camera (that really sucks) I would say w300 has a much better cost/benefit if you don't use the camera! Batery life is great, display is great, walkman is great and to me it's a stylish mobile... just get a 2gb MS and you are fine! i just complain about the keyboard... (get often the wrong key... keyboard isnt that bad tho.) recomended!

Everyone Ok. Stay Calm. The Camera Has Now Be Upgraded To 1.3mpx. AND you should only get the "WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH" if you download lots of games, i have had mine for ages now and nothing "bad" has happened. Its completely reliable. If your really worried go and delete the games, you can download games for free of the Sony Ericsson website if you want them back! Hope you found this useful!

has anyone ever had this problem with the w300i?? i bought it and after one month it froze, i had to remove the battery and try and turn it back on and it got stuck on a white screen. It got sent into the company and they could not fix it. They then sent me a new phone, and two month after that, it did the same thing!!! This phone has died on me twice!!! Regarding the probloem of "busy Tone" there is a function in this fone called Call Restriction which sends busy tone to the callers immediately when they try to call you. try turning it off may work! Go to main menu > Settings > Calls > manage calls> Restrict Calls> All incoming and then try to deactivate the function Might work; other wise it can be a fault in your fone

Had this phone for about a year now, had the handset replaced three times and the sim twice,I repeatedly get cut off mid phone call,Orange deny its anything to do with them and are blaming the handset telling me other folks have complained of this too.Never had any problems with Orange in over 10 yrs SO, it has to be the handset.It will be replaced soon, probably go back to Nokia.

Yeah, camera is bad. If you are willing to put your whole phone at risk, there is a new Camera Driver available that you must replace yourself. I have flashed the latest firmware (R9A036) because SE Update Service kept telling me that my previous firmware (R9A031) was the latest yet I knew it wasn't, updated the camera driver, updated the acoustics, installed some flash menus and debranded all of the T-Mobile & Robbie Williams crap to be left with an incredibly LOUD phone with an 'ok' camera and decent firmware and customisation that stands tall. My problem is, the way it comes as standard with all that Robbie crap or even without it and average camera, small screen resolution takes away quite a bit from this.

I got the W300i today and its great I loooove the sound quality, camera sucks but its kool. I wanna know the memory limit it can use. And it froze on me. is it normal to have such long pause while loading? Especially at power up. HELP!!

W300i is not produced anymore, but some shops still have it in stock. I like the phone because its clam-model and quite light and small. It has radio-receiver and good music-sound. The camera is crap (0.9 Mpx) so if pictures are important to you, buy something else. Other than that, I recommend it, it's good value for the money (ca 140 Euro). Oh, one more thing... it has Bluetooth, of course, but not version 2 which is required for stereo, so the radio and music-player dont work with a bluetooth headset, you need a wired one.

I just purchased a W300i and looks like I bumped into a software bug. I replaced the factory-supplied 256MB memory-stick with a 4 GB stick. After that, trying to download any of the free themes from Sonyericsson results in a "Memory Full" message. Switching back to the 256MB stick, the downloads work again. (I suspect the 4GB gives an overflow error in the memory-calculations, thereby the faulty error-msg.) I also tried the firmware Update Service, but it says the software is already the latest version. Anyone else here that can confirm this error?

HOWEVER, u can install Sony Ericsson DRM Packager , and convert ur MP3 to a "protected" format, and then u can use the converted one as ringtone. good luck

@Symon The mp3 ringtone problem is a simply to fix. Go to Settings, General, and deactivate the voice control!!! You cannot MP3 ringtones if the voice control is activated! Deactivating it may fix this problem!

@Symone Yes symone i had the same problem with my w300 and then its software got corrupted so i had to install new software in it and now my w300 can make mp3 a ringtone.. so i think ur software/firmware dont support that option ... Try updaating the firmware.

I understand bantumiboy carelessly made a mistake - w300 does support M2 Memory Stick, so don't buy microSD.

phone is average. sound quality is best. sometimes it gets abnormal by showing "play back failed" so must turn off / on to play music again. sometimes slow processing when you have to many messages for inbox and sent messages. so hard to find other compatible micro sd brands. so if you are willing to buy sony, then go for the 2 gig. maximum video format is 176 x 144 only. I tried 320 x 340, no videos showed only sounds can be heard. overall phone is good. if you're not a picture addict but a music bumm, try the phone.you won't need you mp3 player anylonger. just make sure you have 1 or 2 Gig micro sd. Update software are available. you can view pictures by date added, etc. cool update.

A tip: (I suppose the majority of the w300 owners already know this, therefore I'm referring to those who don't) In order to increase the sound/volume during the mp3 reproduction through loud speaker, you can do the following: 1. Manually adjust the equalizer (almost) to the maximum; 2. Save the changes as default; 3. Every time you intend to play a music/file from your phone via loud speaker, just do that directly from the Walkman menu, not from the file's default position ("Sounds" folder usually). If you do like that, you might notice that the sound/volume is pretty much higher in comparison with playing the same file directly from the Sounds folder. Cheers!

I just retired this phone after using it for 6 months, the 2nd longest used phone for me. I would have kept using this phone if I had not got my new Nokia. Absolutely great phone, The buttons are EXTREMELY user friendly, the battery life DOES last 400 hours even including heavy texting and calls. The music quality is almost or as good as a ipod shuffle's and the phone is dirt cheap.

Overall it's a good phone, except for the camera. Batery Life it's very good (9 hours talk time), sound it's loud with a good earphones, display resolution it's poor, if you don't care about the camera this phone it's an excellent choice :)

its not the most reliable phone ive seen.im on my 3rd within the 3rd week.a word of advice is that if u connect to ur pc, go to disconnect hardware safely because my second phone had a common problem. type out white screen w300i on google and ul find alot of people have this problem where the screen goes white and black, and then ur screwed. this happened to my second phone. so my m8 said u have to safely disconect your hardware other wise it will corrupt the phone. fingures crossed this works. there are a good variely of games available although alot of the best games are too large to fit the screen. V RALLY 3D CAN BE PLAYED VIA BLUETOOTH WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY SICK.the mp3 player is good,but u need to have the artist labeled to make it work correctly.

Pros: Sound from headphones is really good. From speaker lacks bass (as most others). Camera is good compared to a Nokia 6131 in which the photos have green lines and are very noisy. Very good battery duration. Comes with a 256mb M2 memory card. Low price. Cons: Handsfree doesn't have a volume control Camera is VGA. Night mode doesn't change anything. Overall: It offers a good features/cost ratio.

Brought this W300i AP unit last month. Use it until now, don't have any calling problem, good signal, STRONG battery life, plus CUTE and SMALL design (suitable for girl, but still can use on boys with middle and big size finger). About the hand phone software, sometimes have a bit delay if you press your button/command to fast. The Walkman Features still ok, Radio fucntion not bad. After all, this handphone is NOT EXPENSIVE but with A LOT OF FEATURES (But not with high-end SE model with quality button and great megapixel built-in camera, some other have 3G too). I hope this handphone will not give me much trouble after use it for 1~3 years.

Looks very good, has a good sound, but the volume is a little low. The camera sucks, if you try to take photos at night, don't do it, you'll get disapointed. Good signal. Also the interface is cool.

Hi..to answer your question..The camera on this phone is not very good at all... It uses software to make the photos taken 1.3MP when infact they are less then 1MP( mega pixel).. I wouldnt suggest this phone for taking photos... Its great for music and the display is ok... i would look else where though if ur lookin for a good imaging device. the Nokia 6233 is great..

well i just purchased this phone since i finally decided to change mine...i had a nokia 1100 phone which good for nothing really except that it wud never mash up...so was rather excited when i got this one...i read that ya'll have problems using mp3s as ur ringtones? my ringtone is an mp3 i had on my computer n with the usb i had put it in the phone memory instead of the memory stick and i put it in the ringtones folder and it worked...and it's a pity some of u didn't get a memory car and/or a usb cable with it...anyways i love this phone; it's design its features...the camera ain't all that but i don't need the camera as much cause i've got the digicam, but i love it...looks really slick in black as well

I love this phone. I only wish the screen was bigger. I regret choosing this over the Z550i. I bought this for AU$199 while the Z550i had all the features and was only $149 on the Vodafone network. ALthough everything is great, what I don't like is the camera shutter goes off even when it's on silent. My friend took a picture during class and my phone went off! Pros: -VERY fast Bluetooth (v2.0) -Good colour quality (256k) -Radio with good reception -Great earphones -Decent memory card given Cons: -Camera very very bad quality -Camera shutter goes off in silent mode. im using a W300i right now and it was nice. i just got it 2 months ago and its still okay. it has loud sound...i use it in school..i download themes in the internet..large memory and my friends would get jealous because of it...i have uploaded 40 songs + and i still have enough memory to add more. a great device...wonderful style...my cellphone got bumped into such hard things almost 3 times and its still alive without any cracks or slashes. a great cellphone. loud..accurate...and easy to use. no problem about it actually right now.

have had this phone for coming up to a year and it is superb...its even waterproof ( i dont recommend intentionally bringing it into contact with any liquid though!! the photos are poor in comparison with other models but the other features alone are great...if it had 3g it would be perfect.

Yes, the flip does get loose and the camera isn't so amazing! It also does not have a lock for the menu and stuff..but its really good for music.. Plus it's really user friendly!

Great phone, The design is love or hate, which is good. It is rare, it has everything you want from a phone, it is quick, pretty durable (I personally dropped this phone at least 20 times - noting happened). And the best of all it is cheap - which when you are 22 matters! Actually they stopped selling the phone because it is pretty much the same as w710 but half the price.

Hello to everyone! I bought my W300i just a month ago and it was awesome. Both stereo and mp3 player are great. Not to mention this is "The smallest in the se walkman series". This small size gadget will definitely gives you quality sounds just the way you want to hear it because of its options. Another is the voice control, still exploring on how to use this option. Although this phone have a vga camera or 0.3 megapixel, well at least can take pictures. For those who wanted to value their phone with nice camera, just prefer to buy a digicam instead because when it comes to music there's no upgrading unlike the camera megapixels.

Hello guys, I own a w300i, it is beautiful, the walkman feature is great, however 2 major problems: 1- it is based on java, so you cannot install .sis (symbian installer) files on it, while Nokia 60 series like 6600 are compatible with both .jar and .sis files 2- the camera is not cool! Hi to all of you! I bought this phone a month ago. So, I'm impressed. I'm all for music player + phone in one, and walkman phones are the best out there. Then, it's obvious that I don't care about camera. Still, there is one and is not so bad for sporadic use in case of emergency need for camera. Beside camera, the only drawback would be a relativly small display. But, again, I don't care - it's good enough for all my needs. Sound is simply amazing. Other features and performance are excellent. This phone has far more pros then cons, and great cost to features ratio. I'm very very satisfied. As far as music is concerned, this mob is appropriate for it but the photos taken from the camera which is quoted as "interpolated to 1.3 Mpx" is really awsome. The pictures are almost unrecognizable.

Im not so sure bout "Interpolated to 1.3 megapxls", but on my experience with my k300i, i think it means that eventhough the camera is just 0.3mpx, it has the ability to capture photos and produce a size close to what a 1.3mpx camera can produce. normal vga cam can render 640x480 images right? but SE's interpolated vga cam's can also produce image size of up to over 1024x768pxls resolution, like SE K300i, thats all i can say..

What end is this phone? i thinks its a mid-high phone cause it has all the things high end phones have ( heard it has nearly identical software the w810 has) the resolution isn't that bad just above average. ok the camera is the only thing that doesn't make it a real high end phone but if you download an application called facewarp the photos look much better.

-Saandeep, you can't instal files with the extension .sis on this phone, just in smartphones. the games you can install in w300 have .jar extension, and to install you have to put them in the "others" folder in the fone memory or in the card. Then you select them to install.

actually the mp3 is SUPERRR GREATTT!!! and flight mode is cool :D when u buy the phone a free 256MB memory card should come with it. I haven't had any big problems (it shutting off for no reason etc.) with this fone and the keypads are cute :D they can get annoying tho if ur hands are sweaty :P and the battery is really good... it sometimes stays alive for a whole week :D The camera isn't too great but if u change the picture size to extended its okey and it has nice effects lke black and white or negative :D the frames are super cute..there is one that looks like mona lisa or elvis :D The music dj is reaalllyyy fun :D it's a good mp3 fone :D i give it a 8/10 :D

As a phone, this is just ok. The camera is satisfactory, the screen could be better but does the job, the user interface is good and so are most of the other features. Overall, nothing bad about the phone really (apart from the design-a little iffy but not too bad, and get it in black-looks a lot better than the white one). I owned this phone a year ago, and i now own a K800I. You may be thinking that i may be being a bit harsh as you cannot really compare the K800 with the W300, and you will be right, perhaps my expectations are way higher now i have a K800. However, the point that i am making is that i am just about to go out and buy another. Why you may be asking? Because, well, THE WALKMAN MP3 PLAYER IS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!! Its quite simply perfection. The sound quality is brilliant, you can search for tracks by artists, album names etc and the earphones that this phone comes with are brilliant. I have been looking for an MP3 player for around �60 for a few months now (music playback on k800 not that great-but its not a walkman phone so it wouldnt be), and i have found nothing that would beat the music capabilities of this bad boy for this price. I wont be using it as a phone atall, just as an MP3 player (yes its that good) although as a previous user of this model, i can say that for a casual user or for those who dont want to spend much on a phone, this is the one to go for.

The Sony Ericsson is a good phone, but trust me when i say that when u see the phone on the web u think that it is more than the reality of the cellphone. My Provider give me 1 year guaranty on the phone and when i had only 2 months and a half with the cellphone, everytime i close it the cell shuts down, and my service provider had to change it. The new cellphone, same model, give me the same problem but just some times, not ever like the old. How can i say it, the phone is good, everytime u don't get this error. I'm agree with the one that says that the pics quality is really poor so if u are looking for a good camera cellphone, this is not your model. I bought this for 70 Omani riyals ie 7700 INR. With one year warranty. 256 MB memory card is available. And guys out there please read the manual properly before reaching into any conclusion. Using the software provided with the phone, you can do wonders . You can copy mp3 or images TO and From the phone. Can save upto 70 songs. There is expandable slot also . The walkman headset is very good one. I use to listen music every time, and the battery backup is more than 2 days. There are options of forwarding songs, which is not present in the SE750i. Also memorywise this is better than SE750i. The joystick of low end SE phones including K750 i�will be spoiled very easily� But w300i is very nice�Iam very much satisfied with this..It gave me more than wat I wanted. Also you will get cable to connect to your television set also. Themes are good nice ones. The only poor thing is camera(a normal VGA, same as that of a k310i) . I did not prefer a phone with camera, hence if you are looking for a camera mobile, don�t go for this� All other guys, this is the best midrange phone ever. If your budget is less than 8k, Go ahead�..this is ur phone.

But the walkman and the memory card do make up, opera 3 works well. can upload pics to the web. the cable and software are also a plus. the battery life, up to about 4 days on standby, regular phone use, about 2 days.. good phone..

I just got the W300 from Fido a week ago on a contract renewal. The phone looks nice, but my previous phone, a simple Nokia, had clearer reception, a clearer speakerphone, and was able to receive a signal in a few places where this phone cannot. The main reason I switched phones was to get an mp3 player, because I would rather carry one device instead of two. I haven't had a chance to try out the Walkman feature, but I hope it works well and has good sound. Overall I am reasonably satisfied with the phone. To be more satisfied, I'd like a better camera and more memory built in or on the included card. I give this phone a 7 out of 10. I have to add I'm disappointed at the discrepancy between how Fido treats new versus repeating customers. I did get back the $25 charge for the phone (free to new customers @ Best Buy!) after calling and complaining, but new customers also get things like a car charger and Blue Tooth receiver. It doesn't seem sound long-term business policy for repeating customers to be rewarded for their loyalty by getting less than brand new customers.Customers tend to remember that kind of thing!!

sunny, I don't know if the master reset is effective for the virus, nor the preset themes could be recovered. But if you want to secure the themes, you can forward the files to the memory card, then you reset the phone.

guys the camera is great if you know how to use it. you bought the phone take a pic & it suck but you do nothing to make the results better. guys to get better results you have to change the picture size to extended which is 1.3 megapixel. when your taking a picture hold the phone side ways with the keypad in your left hand (keypad in right hand if taking a picture of yourself). after the picture is saved go to the folder the picture is saved in and view the picture. click more then click rotate OK. email [email protected] if you have any questions about the w300i

Not possible to watch videos in landscape orientation, which makes the actual resolution even worse since you cannot use the whole area of the display. Almost useless external display. I bought the phone 4 days ago and have been using it for 3 days. Haven't used all the features yet, but it seems like a really decent phone. I bought it based on two main criteria that i looked for in a phone: 1. Decent battery life 2. To use for texting and making calls 3. It had to be a clam shell So far i've been using it for 3 days and the battery still indicates that it has 66% more charge left (another 6 days). I haven't been using the phone that much other than for a few texts and a few short phone calls, but it definately indicates it will last at least 3 times longer than my previous phone (Samsung D600). So far i'm very impressed With regards to texting the phone makes this easy to do and it is very user friendly. Phone calls are clearer and the reception is stronger than my D600. So all 3 criteria have been met. Ok the camera is not the greatest, and the screen resolution doesn't compare to the excellent clarity of my Samsung D900, and the mp3 ringtones are slightly less pleasing to the ear as my D600 (the W300 sounds more tinny, but it is bearable), but that is probably why the battery lasts so much longer, and this is exactly why i bought the phone. The phone is light weight and quite small (not too small though). The only other small irritation i have is that the vibration (when on silent) isn't as powerful as i had hoped, so i have missed one or two calls when the phone has been in my pocket. So far a great phone, and very good value for money.

The walkman phones are the best music phones on the market. you can use the bigger headphones for a louder clearer sound and you can plug the music cable in your radio for loud wicked music to blow your roof off. buy it. i say its better than a 2gb ipod. this phone is wicked.

I just bought this phone 3 days ago. I chose it over k750i, because it's cheaper and I was reluctant to buy k750 because of the joystick. I had a k608 before, which got stolen, and it had joystick issues after a month and a half of use. Though, I love SE phones over Nokia, the drawback will always be the joystick. Advantages - Nice design. Cute and small - The speaker is and sound quality is great! Disadvantages - It can play WMA files, and some MP3 files when you transfer files by just copy and pasting like using it a a flash drive... BUT, when you use Disc2Phone to transfer music files from your PC to phone, even if it's WMA, it will be converted to MP3 that can be played on the phone! Awesome! :P - The camera, isn't really that good cause it only VGA. Overall the phone is 8/10! :) If you're looking for a walkman phone, and just a basic cam phone, then this is the right choice! :)

i also wonder why every time when i push the stop/pause button when the flap is closed it wouldn't start the walkman. I made sure i configured it to start walkman and not the radio. It will not start the walkman in speaker mode.. it needs the head set.. is it the behaviour or is my phone acting wierd?

I have been using this cell for 2 weeks, generally I am satisfied with it, but I noticed that the sound is not so clear. I hear lots of noise, especially when I put it with low volume... @ Riob: W300 has a beter sceen than Z530 and worse than w700. The screen of the z530 is UBC 65000 colors and the other 2 have TFT 262000 colors. Both w300 and z530 are 128x160 pix and the w700 is 176x220.

Before SE ever sort out the crashing issues you can't consider the w300 as a serious communication device.

This is my sixth phone (after motorola talkabout, t105, t230, t610 and p800) and the keys of w300 is as good if not better than any of them except for the talkabout which had an ultra comfortable rubber keypad. (yes the p800 had touchscreen but only talking about the keypad) i find the speaker a bit louder than w700 (though i dont use it much). the only problem is i am not able to play the cricket games due to the smaller screen battery life is smashing isnt it?

I have had this phone for a month now. The keypad took a little getting used to but now I have the hang of it and I don't have small fingers. I very much enjoy this phone. I like the fact that it's a clamshell and mp3, I don't have to worry about locking the keys all the time. I am also curious if the 2gb m2 will slow the phone down at all. I think the w300 is a wonderful phone.I always say that i do not want any flip phones but when i say the w300 i said i have to get one. My only problem is the is not much security on it Sony Ericsson need more security on their phones eg. APPLICATION LOCK is a wonderful feature that every phone should have.

this phone supports up to 1gb m2 card. a single battery charge, when playing songs, not just lasts for 12 hours. it can take you up to 20 hours, or 28 hours if you use the walkman application solely (walkman/flight mode). i recommend you buy this phone. at a cheap price, you'll be contented as if you're using a w710 although not having a nice camera (you can just a buy a digicam). this phone sounds great; the mono speaker is really loud but not as loud as w550's which is stereo-channeled. although somehow bulky in the pocket, don't expect it to be heavy; it's very lightweight. again, this is a MUST-BUY! :)

Hi, I got this mobile last month and i am very much satisfied with this phone. In India i got this at 8750/-.It has bluetooth, Infrared, 256 memory, USB cable, Walkman series, Radio, Extendable memory, Beautiful themes, Games, Softwares and average Camera. But day light photo graphs are good with this cam. First i too worried about the cam but insted of paying 5500 extra for W810 i, i can buy a digital camera with 6.0 Mega Pixels by adding some more money. So friends this mobile is perfect in all and battery back up is simply good. On 100% charging, i can listen 12 hrs continious songs with high volume.. Hats off this phone. hey sasi, i own a w300i but out of those three phones, i have to say the w550i tops it all. it's a reliable phone. if i could trade my w300i for a w550i, i would. my mate owns one, very good phone. my w300i is running on a 1gb m2 memory card so therefore, it does support 1gb. if you want sound and camera quality, i suggest w550i. the camera from my phone isn't that good. it's not a big issue for me because i don't touch my camera. but the w700i, not that good on sound compare to w300i and w550i. if you're still not satisfied, then just chip out a few hundred more and go for the w850i. it has everything you need. i hope this has helped you. goodluck.

look man i own a w300i for 2months now, it it a real great phone it matches up to w810i no regret. although the w800 sounds a bit louder the w800 has no edgewhich is bad! also the screen has less protection than the w300 ( clamshell screens are better protected) the camera is 1.3mpx take a extended phot at daytime when the sun is out u will see then if it is vga or 1.3mpx. one thing don't take photos at night though can't see hardly anyting.don't care if w810 has led light i use my torch or my w300i lcd screen it's bright enough for me.

Coz i saw this guy trying to buy a 1gb memory card for his SE K610i (coz K610i & W300 has the same memory card, sony M2) and at first he was looking for a 1gb Sony M2 card, to replace its stock memory card 64mb, then he saw that his memory card isn't a M2 card its a 64mb micro SD card in his fone all along. so he just bought the 1gb SD card, then he inserted the memory card in his fone and worked perfectly that day...so is it possible to use a SD card instead of a M2 card? Pros: -really good at being a phone, that is the most important for me < very good earpiece sound, good signal, clear and loud speaker, good size, really good battery, quick at sending sms or mms, nice phonebook and last call record systems> -very fast and easy interface, multi task (you can access and use several functions at the same time), run every java game or application that its tried -internal display very bright and clear, but not as good as a 65k colors nokia display, at least for me -external display surprisingly good, especially under sun were you can see the information totally clear. -lots of nice extra features such as alarm, calculator, calendar, stop watch, timer, music mate, radio fm, some of the games, video/photo DJ (can't say the same about the music DJ feature wich is very lame), sound recorder (even the sound getting kind of low), bluetooth/infrared, complete software CD and walkman player* -the walkman player is just perfect.Of course, that isn't a surprise, everybody knows, but I didn't expected to be that good. You have total and very easy access and control of all your songs stored in the phone and in the card, you can sort them as you want, you can set the equalizer yourself or select the preset ones, and there's the megabass one that is really awesome. Its quality boosts with the top high quality earphone that comes with the phone. There's more good things about it but not so relevant. -its camera is not a megapixel one but I'm ok with it, have nice diferent effects, takes bright pictures. I didn't expected a digital camera and I didn't get one. For me it can be cosidered as a pro. There's just a few cons, and all a little irrelevant: -lack of the activity menu, were you can create and access a lots of shorcuts, bookmarks and were you can see the running apps. to me its a shame that this menu its missing, it is very useful. -its possible to create just 2 shorcuts due to the lack of the activity menu -can't see videos in fullscreen mode, and to see the pictures in fullscreen you have to rotate them, you don't have the specific option to do that. -The browser of the phone its not as good as I expected so I had to switch to the good and old friend operamini browser. -can't change the on/off animation -the flip is a little little bit loose, I don't know if its my phone that came defective, but I got used to it. Also the phone make some creeky sounds depending on the way you hold it, I had to get used to that either. Thats all that I remember now, if I remember something else later I'll write it.

Hi! I have the w3ooi black since Thursday, it is a really graeat & value 4 money phone. However, I would like to ask a few things: 1. Can FM radio be displayed on the orange external screen? 2. When I listen to music or radio via hands-free & I have an incoming call, I don't hear the ringtone from the earphones. Is it possible? Bcos in Nokia phones with hands-free, music is interrupted & u hear the ringtone from the ear phones. 3. How can I change stations when listening to FM radio? Again, in Nokia I used to have, u can also do it by pressing the button of the hands-free. In the hands-free of w300i, by pressing it it says something about voice recording only. 4. When the phone is deactivated, I don't see the clock screened, although I have activated the function of displaying hour even in deactivated phone (I can see it only when it is charged deactivated). This is the best phone around it has everything u need 1.3 mega pixel camera 256 megabyte stick and 20 megabytes internal also it has good quality and very loud sound. This phone is probably the loudest Walkman.Also it has a good standby so u don't have 2 recharge that often very light perfect design. And has the best headphones on a phone. Its got fm radio and and has quad band. I would recommend this phone.

I tried in the store and man - what a terrible, horrible keypad! It's a real shame, because the rest is not bad at all. Not only the keys are so small but they overlap. I could not type a single fone nr without a mistake, let alone txt. And the buttons for walkman and power are so tiny, it's just ridiculous. I know SE meant this fone for the 'youth', but this is not even suitable for an average 15 yrs old kid. Pity!

ive just brought this phone and i really like it, its got very good memory, and the memory provide also. BUT, the camera picture quality as a bit bad compaired to other 1.3mp cams. but the internet is fab on orange and is really simple to use also. the games are ok but a bit girly, such as NEO PETS, but over all i would say 8/10.

Photo caller id is supported on w300i. In bluetooth while receiving multiple files from 'my devices' i always have to click 'allow' for all the receiving files. Even though i have selected 'always allow' for that device(phone). Is this normal? coz its annoying to click 'allow' every time while receiving multiple files. Thanks

All in all I think that Nokia 5300 is a better deal than W300. It has better keys, better speaker, MUCH better screen, better camera and better call quality. It supports stereo bluetooth and supports 2GB memory card. On the down side it has worse earbuds (which you can change) and worse battery time.

The w300 is a great phone. to get great photos with the camera, change the picture size to extended which is 1.3 megapixel, when taking a photo hold the phone horizontaly (keypad in left hand) when the photo is saved go in the camera pictures folder and select the image, press more then rotate. the photo displays fullscreen and is much sharper and brighter. (if the photo is up-side-down, rotate two more times).

the quality of picture of w300 is not werry good, i think teh z710 is beter. But did you see W710? The sound quality of z series is not so good, you will get a 64 mb Merory card with it. But if you choose W710 you will get 512 memory card, and a w series stereo hand's free, witch makes the difference!

Hi all, on 19 Jan i bought this phone. But, before doing so i searched and searched lot of websites for a good phone. Esp. i browsed this site many times. Read user opinionm seen ratings, pictures etc. Finally i decided to buy z530i. But at the last moment i realized about the USB data cable, stereo headphone, 256MB M2 card. Display is beautiful and themes are simply superb. Right now i do have only 4 themes in my mobile, How can i add more themes in to my mobile??I transfered one theme from other sony ericsson, but my mobile does'nt accept that theme. . good news my frend has a new w810 i checked in school how high the volume is and guess wat the w300i sounds louder like about 7% but like 3.5% less than w800. the camera in 1.3 mpx is so great if it's past 4:00 pm but during 10 -3 when the sun is strong it looks great. i think if u put the w810 vs w300 they would both die.

My back cover was extremely hard to take off too. But after taking it off like 5x, it becomes managable. I took it back to the store and had the employee open it so if it broke, I ain't responsible.

To use mp3 as ringtone branded phone, you have to use the DRM packager which is downloadable at the SE designer website. It makes the mp3 file locked and usable (like the games). The more DRM ringtones you have, the slower it is to browse through your ringtone list...and don't add DRM to your normal music files.

I had a w800i for over a year but it got stolen.. I loved that phone soooo much! it's complete and perfect! now that I'm looking for a new phone, I still want a walkman SE.. I'm wondering if this is the next best for its cheap price.. I don't mind the camera coz I've got one.. I'm just concerned about the memory and sound quality.. coz before in my w800i I could fit 400+ songs in 512mb by decreasing its quality in the pc, but when I transfer it to my phone, it still sounds great! can I also do that with this phone? [OR before, I had 300+ songs and still had memory for 100+ games..] also another is concern is, I found w800i easier to use [specially File Manager] than my friends w810.. what about this one? is it also easy to manage files? or roam around the phone without a joystick?? hope you answer my questions.. it's been almost a month since I lost my phone and I still can't find one that would really suit my preferences.. I forgot: I also use the alarm everyday about 2-5 times, which uses the mp3/speaker combo, and which should use a lot of battery. With all of that (+2-5 sms messages a day), my battery lasts that long.

But I think mine doesn't have it because my operator's SIM card has changed one of the icons on the regular menu images and that's why that one won't come up. @ the person who asked about the battery life: Yes, again, mine lasts 5-7 days with about 5-10 calls a day, 1-2 hours of music-listening, about 5-10 minutes of WAP and occasional picture and video-shooting.

The phone is equipped with a mere VGA camera. There is an Extended Mode in the camera menu, that raises the resolution up to 1.3 megapixel but that resolution is interpolated which means that the software merely stretches the real 640x480 image in order to reach those dimensions.

Just got the black version of this phone for christmas, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's better than my old NEC N343i in nearly every way, and I don't miss the i-mode one bit! - Camera is pretty good for what it is. Much better than my old phone (also VGA). - Headphones are very similar to Sony MDR-EX71 in both appearance and sound quality - and these cost around €40-50! There's also a 3.5mm jack on the wired handsfree cable so you can plug in any standard headphones instead. - Sound quality is pretty good, however there is significant noise when things are quiet. If the volume is quite low and there's a quiet part of a song, it can sound quite distorted. It's fine with the volume up 1/3 the way or higher though. - I never had a clamshell before, and had doubts about getting one, but I am actually quite happy with it. The earpiece and mic are a lot closer to where they need to be so things are a lot clearer when making calls, and there's no keypad lock to worry about! - The buttons aren't great for texting, and it's kinda weird having the top row (1,2,3) bigger than all the others. - Battery is great, and the charger doesn't make annoying high-pitched noises like a lot of modern transformers (I couldn't sleep with the one from my NEC phone on!) - Radio is great - I can pick up distant stations I can't get on any other radio with this! RDS AF (alternate frequency) is very useful when travelling. - "Disc2Phone" software is next to useless. It tells me nothing about what it does to the music (if it's re-encoding or what), so I just don't bother with it and copy over music manually. - It doesn't seem to have any way of sorting music tracks by their filename or by the tag's track number, which is kinda annoying when putting albums on it. - Screen is pretty nice - even on the lowest brightness setting it's still quite bright. The external screen is OK. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect, but what is - especially at this price!

I just bought my SE W300 and i absolutely love its sleek form and the sound clarity. It costs a bit but it really is a good bargain !! But dont buy it if you are looking to shoot pictures with ur phone

We just got this phone, then got a 1GB MS Micro and we are having real problems with the memory. it is only transferring part of the files and in somne cased it is scrambling the songs and actually mixing them together - weird! Has anybody else had this problem or know what I should do?

The w300i is a great phone- no joystick means no more constant cleaning and the display is bright and clear. The sound is better than an ipod and the camera is fine in daylight. Ignore the phones critics- 97%

@haider Actually, the camera isn't that bad. I've been putting it to good use. Sure I could use some more resolution, but then phone cameras all have purple fringing and you can't get good quality with those small lenses anyway, so the debate over the camera kind of becomes useless -- that's unless they come up with new technology that wozld make that sort of lens useful. I haven't exactly measured the time the walkman could go non-stop, but I listen to music a lot, and my battery's charge remains for about a week. And btw, I went and took a close look at the z710, you were right about the size, although at first the w300 seems smaller. My bad.

@Haider I totally agree with the cam quality when compared to w550i. W550i was my previous fone and the cam was awful. W300i has a gr8 VGA cam, looks stylish (shadow black with black earphones), got EDGE, 256mb Mem card, awesome ergonomics. Only disappointing thing was the small screen(128 X 160) and the display aint as crisp as W550 but again that accounts for the awesome battery life. Overall, W330i is a gr8 buy

@ parham u are right w300i has best sound quality over but i have a problem that my w300i has a bit less mp3 playing time from speaker thats about 6-7 hours when completely charged i have robbie williams edition that came with an extra fone cover and in ear fones the fone plays about 20-25 hours music at maximum volume when fully charged o0ver all the best walkman fone if u ignore the camera (i feel camera of w300i at extended mode has better pic than w550i)

Alright folks, after having used this phone for 3 months now, these are the observations I can make: - This is a fantastic phone! There's nothing as good for this price. It has replaced my iPod, the sound is actually better than my iPod due to the earphones - it's just that it doesn't hold as many songs, even with the 1GB card. - The call quality is excellent, nothing to say there. - Entertainment-wise, it tops all the phones I've had so far. - The camera is VGA, but it's not that bad. It does what it's supposed to do. - The looks are great, though I could have done without the orange keypad at my age. - The battery is fabulous. You charge it for 2 and 1/2 hours and it keeps on going for 5-7 days, no matter how you use it, or whether you use it in the cold or not. - The only (and really the one and only) nag I've had with it is the fact that sometimes I can't see the letters on the keypad clearly in the dark. But then I need glasses. - I would have liked to have tried A2DP on it, but the current earphones well do the job, plus bluetooth consumes a lot of battery power. In short, you won't be able to find a better phone at this price. It's a great little marvel. And I'm not exagerating. My wife constantly now wants one too, and she has an LG Chocolate. If I had to consider another phone, I'd consider the z710, which has A2DP and a 2MP camera (with blue keypad!), but then I'm not sure about the quality of the sound on that one. Cheers.

To Paige: - For opening the back: Hold the phone with both hands, the back towards your face, and put both your thumbs on the center of the back of the phone. Now slide it easily with your thumbs. This is a technique the guy at the phone shop taught me. He had the same phone! - The earphones plug in the cord that plugs in the bottom of the phone. It's in the manual as well.

First the answer to the guy who asked if it played WMVs, yes it does. Now, I'm very happy with this phone. I work developing mobile content, and I needed a phone that supported lots of formats and the w300i delivers. Sure, the camera is VGA, it doesn't bother me, when I want to take pictures I carry a proper camera... Only complaint is that it doesn't seem too sturdy, it makes me feel if I drop it it surely breaks. Other than that, it's a good phone. Music sounds OK through the earphones, reception is good, has bluetooth, IR, EDGE. For the money it's a winner.

well to convert ur camera to 1.3 its simple just go to "camera" select "more" select "picture size" in it and select "extended" it will give u the pic converted to 1.3 mp resolution but its the digital extension of phone but never mind its camera bcoz its just vga and i thjink its a very good vga camera For all those who keep on comparing it to n series or k800 etc etc plz consider their prices first then compare u cant compare a BMW with a toyota so use common sense see what is most cost effective according to ur needs , need a good camera go for k800 definitly but requires atleast double the amount of rs for w300 , k800 and w300 has no major diff in walkman so for walkman i consider w300 the best i told u guys before i have a w800 and a w300 and my w300 beats w800 in mp3 and ringtone volume

my W300i can hold about 60 songs with 256mb card. I assumed you've been ripped off for not getting the M2 card as it comes as standard. As for camera, I've to admit its not up for the job but bear in mind, this IS the CHEAPEST SE Walkman phone series. Perhaps you need to do research first before blindly purchasing the phone.

well 7 songs in w300i , hello i think u must have mistaken theres a 256 mb card included in it which on average can hold upto 50 songs easily and if ur phone is holding 7 songs on the 256 mb card than its funny infact its strange it wud be some problem with ur phone second i should comment on the suggestion to buy a 6233 , first a buyer of w300i should neevr try it because its not a flip second its price tag is way much bigger to that of w300i , well 6233 have anyone really tested that phone , i did and i should say its a good phone which has only average camera its 2.0 megapixel is quite starnge it makes ur pictures look quite funny becaus eof its over sharpening second lack of autofocus make picutres pretty foggy , mp3 player in 6233 is just like the one in 6230i no bass no clearity flat tones thats it , speaker volume is just ok but quality is of second grade if u compare it with w300 so dont experiment ur money buy a w300i just for mp3 radio flip speaker quality and looks , for camera try w800i or w810i

The 256 MB card can hold far more than 7 songs. I had about 7 full-length albums sampled at 160 kbps before I changed the card to a 1 GB one.

sree, I've never downloaded songs directly on the phone (I always transfer them from my Mac), but I do download quite a lot of themes, which usually take 2 or 3 seconds. Sorry I couldn't help you more. If I download a song directly, I would let you know though. I think you shouldn't worry too much about the EDGE performance though, because that really also depends on your network as well. Mine is very fast.

Hello guys, Good day to all of you and i hope and mean its a "good day".hehehehe..well, i have been reading all your opinions regarding sony ericsson w300i and i find some good to the ears and others not quite good.i am a w300i user for a month now and for me, its a nice phone of its class.great sound quality, kinda user friendly to me, dunno with others..the screen is nice to the eyes..262k colors...and also the Internal Memory is big(23MB) and the card included is 256MB,whew thats big for a cheap price, and when i bought it, all the accessories u need are already included in the package..that's a great deal for a low price..i bought it at 9,300 pesos here in the Philippines...wherever i go, listening to music never became a problem.side buttons made my music life easier.although the camera is not that good compared to other phone models, still its worth it..if u want better quality pics...go for a digicam....i really loved this phone because VIRUS never became a threat because it supports only JAVA programs...unlike Symbian OS phones...Viruses are always guests on their phones..hehehehe...you know wat will happen to the phone if virus sets in...and have you noticed that SE phones are more durable and long lasting?hehehehehe....other brands are good too but for me SE is the best....if you have any questions bout W300i, feel free to email me..ok?
