Very solid phone, I've had it almost four years now and only has some minor complications. Battery is still really good. Headphone attachment is no so great, you have to be really carefull not to break it.

good fone, problem seems to be batteries degrading more than im used to from other fones, mine is only good for around 2 days very light usage (its not my main fone ofcors). low resolution LCD is a problem for many java apps, and no 3G, so all in all i say k810i is the best one if you are buying a used reliable fone that can do "everything".

I have had this phone for over 4 years,And seriously its evrything it says that it is.Its really strong and the battrey life lasts about 3 days when it is fully charged.This W610i is truley one of Sony Ericsson best creations.The sad thing though is that i want to buy another one but i cant find any anywhere at all.Does anyone know where i can find one?

I've had this phone for 2 years and it's performed pretty good. Considering the fact it's video quality is very average and photo quality is the same, the 2mp camera has lived up to it's name. The phone itself has taken a few knocks, fallen out of my pocket multiple times and still has lived to tell the tale. I'm starting to think that the battery may have to be replaced soon.

Of course there are better phones than this, but I bought it because it has all I want in its simple and cool candybar design. I don't care about sliders, 3G, touchpanel and all those things you don't need /never use and are just to pretend you're cool. If want a simple designed mid-range and complete phone buy this one without hesitate. Highly recommended.

Great phone,i have it almost 2 years and never had a problem with it although i drop it so many times and the shape of my 610 about 50% cause the silver worn out and on the edge of my phone there small crack (drop cause freefall from desk,slip through my hand,etc).what i dont like is the camera (not to good indoor) and keypad (so small,hard to text).but im happy with my silver 610 cause ure so durable. have this for 3 years now and just updated their latest software on their site, this fone is very awesome to me, when you play your mp3 or fm radio and then somebody will call you, after the call it will resume again to play your music, unlike other fone it will go back again from where you start your music. this fone is very very very good... this fone plays like a pro.

This is the best phone i'd ever had... i brought this on September 2007 and its still working perfectly... The camera is AWESOME even if its on 2MP, FM Radio is GREAT considering i can also get a signal 500kms away from my location, MP3 Walkman is good but 2GB data storage is huge on time when its made... All I have to say is W610i is a perfect phone when i comes to its quality. sound, image and durability... speaking of durability I kid you not i throw this phone like im throwing a rock hitting it very hard and i dropped it onto a water accidentally and it still working with no problem... i've had this one for almost 2 years, and it's been a while since i last had it in my hands, but honestly, this is one of the best phones ever. if you're not looking for a james bond device and are pleased with a mediocre cellphone, than you should stop looking right now and buy it! it's main qualities are: it is fast, supports most of downloadable applications and will serve you well. besides, he has a very enduring screen and whole body. mine fell few hundred times, and i never needed to take him to anyone to fix him. yes, after two years his screen slowly began to shut down by itself, but hey, two years! it's a long period. anyhow, i would recommend it to anyone :)

Great phone, light and compact, had it for a while now and don't think I would change anytime soon. Experience no lag what so ever between menus and programs, what more can you ask for in a low-mid range phone, cool flash menus, ok auto focus camera, loud speaker and superb sounds through headphone. 4gb M2 work great also. Keys pad take a bit to get used to but still good!

I own a W610i as a backup phone to my W995, it's kept in one of those clear plastic cases...it's so awesome, very good battery life, 2 LEDs for the autofocus camera can be used as a flashlight in emergency...all features I need, very very good!! Just take good care of this phone and it's perfect.

Well it was a good phone for me around 1 and half years. But now it is a headache to me. Giving so many software errors, such as once I send a message it pop ups with My shortcuts menu, sometimes Theme colors get changed specially the font colors. And itz hardware is giving hell of a trouble, such as camera is showing some horizontal lines in the vies and those lines get printed in photos, charger port is so loose have try a lot to bring it to charging mode, even the hands free is not easy to connect to that port. So please avoid buying this model. It is good in first 1.5 years. Not good for long time usage.

Great for music and can go 2gb + in terms of storage...the camera is okay being at 2mp camera with flash which raises the interest of the phone..it is slick and thin and will not put a dent in your pocket..the phone is durable and is definately what i would expect from the number one phone provider ''Sony Ericsson'' so go get it!

SE W610i A very underrated phone it is. It is highly durable. Great internal audio quality and the speaker is not too bad too. The camera? I think SE was initially trying to label this phone as one of their CyberShot series because the camera quality is very outstanding for 2MP. Drop it, throw it, baptise it or even burn it (joking) it is still stand strong. I wonder why did I sell this phone. I thought Nokia phones are better but uh, how many times did I change Nokia phones after that moment? Nokias are like glass; easily brittle. I miss my W610i.. wonder where are you now? Please forgive me for what I've done. Hope you serve your current owner well. Thank you, legend!

The screen is MUCH bigger on W705, W705 also has 3G and Wifi. But, sound quality from the W610 speaker is better, W610's camera is better (even though 2 MP it has autofocus) and W610 also has Infrared port.

Mine has been good over last 2 yrs, but now 3 keys don't work and the screen is getting star like shapes on it which are slowly multiplying (it has 4 at the moment). There are cases & keypads and screens on EBAY but I don't know if its worth fixing.

I think your problem with the purple spot on the screen is from u placing the phone next to a magnetic object or the magnet from the clip of the cell phone case.....magnet tends to damage the screen in cellphones or devices that have an LCD screen so avoid cases with magnetic clousure...the magnet pulls the ink in the LCD into one area...sometimes it returns to normal if u r lucky...

Sony ericsson w610 is so good a user-friendly phone. The sound quality when you listen using headphone is nice. In addition, the phone comes with flash light so that you can use it as torch at night when you can't see anything. Moreover, the contact list of this phone is convenient too. You can add several phone numbers for a person in contact list. Every plus there is a minus, this phone equipped with 2 mega pixels camera but the picture quality is not kind of good. It is less clear than sony ericsson k750. Anyway, i like this phone and it cost only 135 us dollars when i bought it 6 months ago. Now i think the price will be approximately 125 or less than that. I recommend this phone to those the sony ericsson user.

First I love this phone, I have had it for over 2 years now without any problems. I have a few comments to clarify on what you've said here: 1)You are correct you cannot listen to the radio when the phone is being charged, but that is because the wire that is connected to your ear phones is the antenna. Other than that, if I had the choice I would buy it again. :) 2)The speakers are extremely good they blow any phone of this range, out of the water (good job Sony). They are very loud, good quality and I use them whenever I can. 3)I haven't had any problems with the keypad, the phone is small so they keys are small as well. The only drawback would be that the menu shortcut cannot be changed which you can also find it by pressing the orange play/stop button in the center of the keypad. 4)Obviously, if you have pressed the start/stop button on the side of the device the song stop abruptly, rather than increasing/decreasing the volume buttons. If you want to check the status of your phone, you cannot while a song is playing you will hit the increase/decrease the volume. Hence, just press the stop button and check your status. 6)Obviously, the song will stop playing when you want to record a video. When you record, you want to pick up the sounds of what you are recording. My Feedback on the phone+++ Texting: it allows you to put your own words in your dictionary. It doesn't take long to charge. The color orange of the phone is what made me purchase it, it's gorgeous. Ear phones are very good, and better when you change the equalizer to your own taste. The memory card is very accessible. Speakers are loud and useful, when you're out and you want something to listen to. The pictures look great for a 2MP camera, tho the flash is a flashlight, but illuminates well in any case. The flashlight is bright and I use it often. The menu is well set up. Song track id is good, if you don't know the same of the song you are listening to, it can look it up for you. drawbacks: I bought an 8gb memory card and I have over 900 songs on my phone, although, I have to reboot it to load all the songs into my play list(I do the same with a computer with updates. The picture has a few seconds of saving time before it is saved, you might miss the shot you want. No zoom on the camera, you can only zoom once you have taken the picture.

hm.. interesting feedback... I recommend to use VGA mode for zooming~ Use 2mp mode to capture and edit it to zoom which part you want and save it. I've test it, it is much clearer than the VGA zoom.Honestly,VGA zooming is useless. Telling the truth, I feel little bit of annoyed playing my music and i cant even see my phone status by pressing the "next" button too, but my tips is go to menu , press"#", and move up to find phone status, it is much better than scrolling down many options. And one more thing, when night time you intend to capture an object photo, on your light, do not too close to the object due to blur after you capture,keep a distance with the object. And edit it and zoom the part you want and save.

it is really very gr8 phone * amazing sound quality * gr8 out door camera * gr8 design . too sexy looks * ya u cant zoom in 2 mega pixel mode but who wan to do tht bcoz digital zoom only reduce picture quality and also u can zoom after taking pictures . so tht is no way a drawback. * a charger is avaliable from sony by which u can attact headphones and charger at same time. if u try to look for drawbacks intentionaly than u may find lakhs in garbage by nokia and and others.

this is not a fone for those people who live by their phone. there r so many drawbacks of this fone. 1st the conection socket is the only way in or out of the fone{except wireless) so when it is being charged u can not listen to radio... f u... u can do only one thin at a tym . either chager it or plug in the ear phone, u cannot do both simultaneously.many fone hav 2 different sokets for these purposes. 2nd is u cannot zoom to take pictures in pixel modes. zoom is only available in vga mode for still photography... f u.... 3rd is u cannot zoom the pictures to get a closer view. only 100% view is possible. if anyone knows how to do it in w610 i please inform me.... 4th the speakers arnt good compared to other fones of same categoery(price) (like nokia... even the cheaper nokia fone speakers hav better volume level n quality.-pls mind it m Not trolling - deliberately antagonizing) 5th the key pad is not friendly. if u use some mobile IM and u r a regular chatter then u might find the keypad annoying.the buttons r not wide n they cause much pressure than the regular flat keypads.at this poin u realize how good the flat keypads r n this keypad is more pain than style. everytime u try u press the rt select key u mis press the short cut key 1st n then the rt select key which cause the running program to end abruptly. hahaha everything goes down n u will again hav to start he program b it a game or a chat.if u havnt saved it or it cudnt b saved then u regret getting the phone... 6th the play misic button on left side n increase/decrease vol button on rt side of the phone r exactly opposite. n when u try to to increase/decrease vol while playing a song in walkman it abruptly stops bcoz u hav pressed the play/pause button... n guys the vol up/down key is shortcut to see the phone status(like free memory, battery%) when its not playing. so when u try to get the status from the short cut it asks if u want to play the song... lol... coz now u hav pressd the play/pause button on left side. well it might b my mistake but how do u press those keys when they r oppsite to each other n there is no ther place to support. i will hav to use my both hands or press it in akward manner, supportin ur finger in different area than the opposite button. if u do it u know what i'm saying. 7th u dont know eher is the infrared port .. i know it is on top side but is it on rt or left. u might think m a fool but when iu want to use it with some ifra red devices or link it with other fone thru IR it doesnt recognise easily or the connection keeps on breaking. so i want to know here exactly it its so that i can make it work better. 8th the space bar key... its on lower rt corner, u may think now whats wrong with this. its very difficult to get a space now n then when u type a long one coz u will hav to bring ur thumb to the exterme lower rt.many phones hav space button in the lower center button which is much easier to use. 9th my w610i socket got damaged in a year. not i cannot charge my fone by a charger but i hav to connect it to computer for charging which obviously is slow n need of computer just to charge a fone makes u sick.actually it was damaged a long tym back. then only the head fone didnot work.ppl cud not hear i said from hedphone mic. i had to hold it tight to the socket. now the charger wont charge. 10th u cant play the song while recording the video.it stops playing the song when u record a video. if anyone knows how to do it please let me know. i will b gr8ful. well it also has good things though. but after reading all these u probably arent interested to know. 1st it has memory card slot which can b accessed from outside. u dont hav to open the casing/housing n battery to change the card or to take it out n put it to reader 2nd u can minimize any application n run in background. u can acces the main menu n other files without closing the application which i find very important n useful. 3rd well it is sony ericssion. n d name says it all. stands out in crowd which u will surely lov to hav. please comment on my experience... i wud luv to hav feedback. thanks

I had this for a year and a half and it developed network signal problem. Its just something that can happen to all fones. What i want to know is, do the silver ones have the same paint peeling problem that the black/orange ones have on the front fascia. I want to replace my broken black/orange one with a silver one while they still available. Then i can use the same 8gb card that i was using in that one, without the stress of having to migrate all my stuff. I LUV THIS FONE!

You must have bought a faulty one. I doubt that you have 5 friend who all have the EXACT same fone and had the EXACT same problem, thats just a lie my friend. Get another one, read the other opinions, this is one of the best fones around. I have dropped mine in concrete, tiles, tarmac, ants it still went strong. And i'm very tall so it fell a long way. They don't make them this good at sony ericsson anymore, this is the best!

mine has done the same, if it is like mine then it's broken. i have sent it in two times now and on the second they said it's unrepairable and said if i want it back it'll cost me �10. Send it in anyway and see what they say....mine was fine when it came back, i turned it on sent 1 txt and then it froze again, so i turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on again! i'm getting on to them new to try and get a new phone as the fault with the phone has nothing to do with me. See what they say.

I do not recommend this phone. Has the defect that if you receive a small shock makes it a point on the screen and grows more and more. The same problem has more than 5 friends have this phone. In addition has a very bad signal. It is a terrible phone!

SE W610i has both pros and cons, being the lauch year was 2007, now it is not find in many store locations, the best buy would be in between Inr.7500 to 8500 depends on the availability. Pros: The Walkman Seriers comes with 2mp, browsing enable, A2DP Streo Bluetooth. - 2 MP camera with autofocus (+++), flash, picture mode, panaroma, and many - mp3 player (+++), Video Player - sound quality: loudspeaker (+++), w/ dedicated headset (+++) - memory storage (++) (hope i could find a 4GB or 8GB card here) - design (+), Flight mode (+++) - radio (+++), RSS (+++) Blog, - price (+++) - signal (+++) - USB (+) D-Keys (+++), Dedicated keys functions(+++) - infrared (++) - durability (+++?) i dropped this 5 times already...no hangs/ problems as of this time..LOL Cons: - No 3G, Convertor, Google Maps, Office Document, 512 MB, Battery drain upon usage, still able to give upto 7 Hrs Perhaps, this is best phone for its price range and simply ahead to any Nokia 6300, 5130, 7120.

I'd had w610 several months ago and I can say that this phone is really good regarding to sound. The sound is really great! However, the cam is really bad. Although it is said it has auto focus, but it still produces yellowish blurry photos. Though, this is still a good phone. SE rocks!

to safira: i have never experienced phone restart while multitask. your other probs are mayebe due to the phone's cable port or even the cable itself (probably this). my phone can last for 2+1/2 days with 15 mins of calls, 2 hours of in-ear music, 30 mins external speaker usage (max.volume) and charging to full battery only takes a few hours (i think less than 5 hours)

there r three ways to update software of your phone: 1. download a small piece of software from this linkhttp://www.sonyericsson.com/cw...?lc=en&cc=i­ n install this on your computer. and then run this and connect your phone to your computer and follow instructions. 2.take your phone to a service station and ask them to format your phone and put new software on it. 3. if u hv gprs activated in your phone then u can update your phones software by using a option there in settings of phone.this is done over air. this applies to all of sony phones

I have used this phone for the past 1.5 years. Sadly its not as loud as the old walkman phones like the W800 and W810. The Auto Gain Control(AGC)reduces the loudness. The bass is very low. Its not a phone for the bass junkies. But the output from the external speakesr is superb. Rest all features are very nice.

Hei .. I just found out something... If you want to have the maximum volume, in the walkman2.0, go to equalizer setting , and choose Manual, set all bars to maximum, and you will get the loudest volume. I found that the loudspeaker sometimes are not so loud caused of noisy condition. example, Ceiling Fan is spinning,which creates noise. So, you may set to this equalizer mode.

This is good robust type of phone, but it is not up to nokia's express music standards. THE GOOD: slim design fine tuned performance like multitasking and options walkman v2 pop port is on side THE MISSING FEATURES: poor camera if you compare with old w810 or w800 blank and grainy picture when you snap in little light or dim light walkman v2 is not up to nokia express music software standards at all no proper 3.5 mm jack (you have to plug all these accesories in only one port) screen is dull and there are no 16 million colors and screen resolution is low at 176 x 220 you can't make SMS FOLDERS (sms limit is 1000 only) the call log can't give save the different timing for one caller ( only the last timed alert will be saved) so call log is not that good, which is must for a cell phone. keypad buttons are way too small.(although i like w880 keypad,there is a difference in both keypad you will only notice when you will use both cells at the same time) notepad feature can only save upto 1000 alphabats, which makes notepad almost useless, or you could use the task manager instead(atleast you get the reminder). handsfree is same old with no rewind play and fastforward buttons. and its not symbian.

4 any one who wanna know about all kind of W610,.. I think this is a great music phone that I ever had. Complated w/ 2mpix camera w/autofocus n led flash which is it can be us as a flash lite.. Usefully isn't.. The photo results may printed directly to printer by using 'pictbridge' feature. I've printing my photo by measure 25x20cm, and it still great no blur n noisy.. If u wanna browsing, u've better install the 'Opera mini' which is u can download for free on the site.. So what else..

I own this phone for one year and a half and i can only say good things about it. Never had serious problems with it. I droped it many times and the only damages are a few scratches. Very very good battery life if you ask me...i am more than pleased as i can listen music for hours and hours. I have to recharge it once every 2 days as i listen music "severly". I also like the radio, it's reception is good but it depends of the area wich you are in. The camera is ok, it does well the job during the day. At night i rather not use it but instead the flash LED i find very useful since i use it often as a torch. The sound during calls is loud enough, you'll never miss a call unless you're in a very noisy environment. What i like most about this phone is the music player, ofcourse. It has a very user friendly interface (walkman 2.0). The music through earphones is awesome, rich bass and loudness and if you use a suitable equalizer setting, sound gets even louder. I use the one below and so far a think it's the best( the first, fourth and fifth bar at maximum; second and third bar at half) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If anyone has questions about this phone, i'd be happy to answer. Salutare la toata lumea!!! :)

As far as I hav used this fone, I found it lacking in terms of the camera result @ nite... During the day time it works perfectly fine... Otherwise it's a very good fone, especially its ability to play various sound formats and videos as well which was lacking in W810i...

Very nice phone. Quick and smart with excellent camera result. This is is all what i wished to get. Decent, fashionable with good performance, fast processor and cool interfaces. But BEWARE! If you are a sms freak, you really need some time to get used to it's keys since they are tiny and hard. But you'll get used to them once you start using them. But they can really make you feel somepain in your thumb :)

1- Goto the contact...edit it and Copy the number. Them goto msg n Paste it. I'm afraid there's no direct way of Inserting a number in the msg. 2- If u'll ask me, i'ld suggest White and Black. Though black from front looks more cool but the wholeorange back does not attract me much. I've white and black...n i'ld suggest the same. 3- No....back cover doesn't drop off. There might be some problem with just your set, otherwise it's all fine.

hi, laura i also once had virus from net in mine pls try on of the following way to change software of your phone . 2 method way will definitely delete virus although i am not sure of 1st and 3rd way but u can use 1st & 3rd method for update of your sofware by your self in future. there r three ways to update software of your phone: 1. download a small piece of software from this linkhttp://www.sonyericsson.com/cw...?lc=en&cc=i­ n install this on your computer. and then run this and connect your phone to your computer and follow instructions. 2.take your phone to a service station and ask them to format your phone and put new software on it. 3. if u hv gprs activated in your phone then u can update your phones software by using a option there in settings of phone.this is done over air. this applies to all of sony phones

trust me, video recording is horrible.... it is not even worthy of youtube uploads. Camera is OK for casual mediocre snaps. This is a music phone but yet the options are so limited. This phone needs a lot of revisions, internally and external. i have some squeaks when i press around certain ares on the phone. also, when connecting to blue tooth device, it mixes up with connected and disconnected. the customizing of the middle keys tend to lose its memory. after leaving the top key stock setting and change left right and bottom, it kept its memory. voice quality is decent at best. My motorola V3i was near 10/10. W610i, i would say 7/10. speaker is quite good for a phone and can be tuned for louder settings.

I have one of this since Dec 08, in general, I think this is an excellent phone; you get used to its small keyboard really fast. It is has a great camera in HQ (unfornatelly you can't zoom in with this setting, only when the VGA option is selected), nice shots and clear images....it looses a bit of quality when you try to take a picture without much light even with the "night thing option" but this is not really a big deal. It was difficult for me to find a case that I could consider useful, since most of em cover the whole device, I finally found a plastic one. I can use the phone without taking the case out of it ;), some people say that it can be hard to get one since not all are fitable to its small keys.

I have owned this phone for a couple months and I love it. The camera is 2mp and I think it is awesome, it takes really good pics well except at night the light helps little, but I love it... if you want a sony ericsson that can take boss pics try the cybershot series... This phone rocks for music... I turn it on at full blast almost everyday and play the music.. it sounds like a disco... Just kidding.. but its really gr8... The quality sound of the music is the bomb... Just try interchanging the equalizer and u will see how this sound quality rocks.... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

just droppin by... my W610i just turned 10 months dis December. as of today, i can only comment negatively on its camera...other than that..none. i like this fone... but some part of the keypads were worn off...so i was thinking to replace the casing with a new one (preferably, the black/orange one)...however, i cant find an original casing of this model..too bad.. =( maybe i'll just save up more money so i can buy an upgrade fone for this...eheheh.. rate: 8.5 out of 10 �

usually the antenna of a cell phone is located at the top just behind the screen. obstructing the antenna may cause shorter battery life though

i try my best to unlock w610i .. but it went fail. There is no free unlock software for this phone for the moment. please not to try to unlock it, or else you need to send to the shop and pay some fee to unlock your network. haha.. i'm one of the victim . i just bought this w610i, the photo quality went horrible and blur if u take photo under low light condition. But, the speaker is amazing , if you play a 192kbps mp3 in w610i just like playing song on a compaq with altec lansing speaker.. great phone... i like the structure and design of this phone.. cool

I suggest W810i due to it's brilliant sound quality and excellent and Easy and comfortable Keypad. But I think W810i is now discontinued by the manufacturers.

W810i is for more better that W610. Because of it's sound Quality and some other features like free focus camera and some more I just used W810i a long time ago, so can't go in detail. But Remember there is not competition between W810i and W610. They are from different series of product line.

Ebay has them lol. i just bought one for 150$ with 25% off from live.com cash back. i hate sony ericsson's designs for their earphone. the buttons can be agitating since they are medal-like materal but if you are a part time texting person, this is good for you. Holding down the button for a long amount of time will dent your fingers. it also kind of hurts too! i wish they would have an easy access to unlocking and locking on the side of the phone (like the w600i). FYI video quality is horrible. Camera is mediocre for a 2Mp camera. there are a lot of good things about this phone; for alarm, you can choose any day of the week and apply any music file as alarm tone. Flash light is a nice touch to the phone. while listening to music you may change the song via the volume rocker (wish they had lumps on them so i can change it by feel) you may also play and stop with a dedicated top side button. Battery life is awesome. i was playing music through earphones (approx 4-5hours?) only 25% battery used. you may also customize the middle circle buttons (top bottom left right) to most applications and what not. if that is not enough, there is a shortcut button (right side button inside the half circle) which you can add more for easy access. Phone feels really solid and durable. this a good choice to choose from within the w series!

im not an expert in se's but so far i am satisfied with it. ive been using se's for the past 5 years. now i have 6 (t68,t230,t630i,w800i,w660i and k800i) though t68 only has ericsson as its brand but t68i is. so far all of them are still working.. and about the virus? just use a pc (with an updated virus scan) to scan the memory stick using a card reader. but don't reformat it using ur pc. usually u'd get a warning if a virus hits ur phone. just open the "other" folder in the file manager and delete it. peace

Reading comments about separate headset of HPM-70, HPM-77, HPM-82, HPM-85, I bought a new handsfree HPM-82 for my cybershot-walkman phone. I got it in a plastic coated cover not in any finished box. It was lebeled made in china. It is most same as it looks in various seller's web. Sound quality I am getting is good but I am not too excited as I expected. It cost me only Tk. 700 ($10) which is very much lower than the other countries. The average price on the net is $35-$40. Now I am confused whether I have bought the original as produced from SE. I can listen music, music controller (call receive, play-stop, up-down volumn) works fine. But the radio reception is very bad. Almost no channel can be heared well. Whereas the original supplied with the K550, is awesome for radio as well as music. Can any user of HPM-82 help me telling the FM music quality through it? Where it was made of? Its loudness compared to the original headset supplied with the phone? Please reply. Thanks advance for your reply.

If you are using a mac, the easiest and safest way is to a. pair your phone to your mac via bluetooth. b. create a folder on your desktop where u can drag the files from iTunes to. c.then through the bluetooth file transfer app. (upper right hand corner, next to spotlight) select your phones, hit send and BOOM! but be prepared to sit there and manually hit ACCEPT for every song.

Being a longtime and faithful Nokia user, it took a extreme leap of faith to purchase this phone. I was highly impressed with phone #1, until it died on me the same day I got it. Whether it was caused by a manufacturing defect or from an iffy usb connection between it and my Mac, I'll never know. Take #2 Forget my qualms about the first phone dying, after really getting to use it, I have to say that it is a fantastic little phone. I would agree that the keys are a lil funky, but I've found that its remedied easily enough by putting it in a case, for some reason the plastic covering the keypad makes it significantly easier to use than without. The really key thing for me when purchasing a phone is its signal reception (here in The Bahamas... our cell service isn't too good), and so far this has been more than comparable to any of the nokias which I have used and certainly better than any junk Motorola that I've seen. The camera is decent, though not spectacular... but with me being a pro photographer I naturally dont expect great things from my phone camera. It is good for what camera phones have always been intended... taking quick snapshots. The walkman player is great, it doesnt have a whole lot of customization or features but that has proven to not be 2 bothersome to me. The included noise-cancelling headphones are really a treat, though I just wish they hadnt designed them specifically for use with the headset, as without it.. well the headphones come up a lil short in the length dept and no one I know wants to wear their iPod as an earring. one feature I discovered which I hope to never prove useful is the SOS signal. There is an option tucked away in Organizer that will either turn on the dual LEDs for the camera at full power or will flash them in the international distress signal of SOS. For those of us who are boaters, you never know when you may need it. My only real qualm about this phone is the battery life... but such is life

hey there... actually, u can zoom in and out in camera mode. just choose "VGA" mode in "size." moreover, u can transfer songs to your fone from your pc by connecting your USB cable to your pc. when connected, choose "transfer mode" from your fone. and your pc shoulf detect your fone memory and memory card. from there, you can drag songs to the destination folder that you want. hope this helps...lol �

It's a total FIASCO! 1>The keypad is very cumbersum. 2>During sms writind no option to enter integers. 3>All the inlets including head-set,charging adapter r pretty loose so often cant get connection resulting in terrible fuss. 4>The speaker quality is horrible...very much low! 5>During pc attachment the connection is established after many desperate attempts. 6> THE MOST HORRID IS CAMERA!At night all the pics taken seems that as if the persons r suffering from anemia...so very pale!!!! 7>The walkman enhancements r just 4 show they hardly produce any effects! 8>If it gets infected with virus u have 2 rush 2 the service center bcoz no antivirus can heal it....the problem remains even after formating the entire memory. 9>Doesnot support any softwares which r meant 4 it only! 10>The display is very small. So it's better not 2 buy any cell ph at all than buying this crap n waste money.

i've used this phone for about 5 months. Nearing the end of it's lifetime, some glitches appeared. the photos of my contacts sometimes don't show up when texts come in. Some of my phone numbers were found missing. But I'm someone who doesn't really take good care of his tech. But the worst that's happened to this one was falling off the bed. My point is, even though there won't be any visible damage to the outer casing of the phone.Eventually, there will be problems for its lack of durability.

I have one in black/orange and it's a pretty good phone. The buttons are not hard to press, at least not for me. Overall it's pretty good phone and for hearing music is awesome(on par with iPods), even though the external speaker is a piece of crap, but who cares? I have mine mine since January and it hasn't given me problems. Another thing, you can't listen to music with headphones while it's charging. the builds feels solid but fragile, so watch for that. If you want one, I'd recommend it, buy it!

I will advise that you do purchase this phone. I have had one for almost a year and it is a great phone. The sound quality is excellent and even more impressive once you use the headset. The bass is simply awesome and the ear piece blocks out all noise so all you hear is your music. Its indeed an excellent phone. The camera quality is great too, but not so great at night but its still pretty good

I bought this phone for more than two-three months and it still rocks until now. However, there are some problems I experienced with it, such as: 1.The battery is not lasted long enough. It just can lasted for about 1,5 day and lesser if I use it to play the music and games. 2. The camera is not as good I thought before. Although it has auto focus and flashlight, still the photos it taken have noises and do not too focus. It getting worse when I use it at night or in a room with dim light, the photos are full of noises. Really reminded me with my old K700. Other than that, this phone is worthy to have. Especially the sound. It really rocks.

I love this phone, but one thing that really bothers me is that i'm unable to send any picture messages (media messages in general) because sending eventually fails and it tells me "communication error." I also can't receive media messages, and the same "communication error" notification is displayed. Is this my phone company's fault, or is it something about the phone?

just keeping an update: (using 1Gb mem card) before, i only had 270+ songs in my playlist (wma file) = 513mb now, i converted my mp3's to m4a's (through dBpoweraamp) so currently, my updated playlist has 430 songs now! (m4a file) = 430mb (largest size is only at 1.6 mb and the smallest can be at 400 kb...still same audio quality)

It amazes me how you guyz keep asking these questions about which camera phone looks the best, the answer is NONE, All these cell phones use cheap lenses.. PERIOD ive got a nokia 1.3M, sony 1.2M and another sony 2M pixel phones and all outcomes are the same! Clear in the middle and blurry going out toward the edges. Nothing changes, i go to my sony digital camera and go to VGA mode and the picture is IMACULATE from the inside and out!! No blur's at all its all about the LENSE. And until these cell phone companies realize to put in better lenses, the pics will always come out half way descent. But then again its a cell phone camera.. How much quality do you really expect to get?? Try it for ur self, if u have a camera phone and digital camera, set them to the same resolution and snap the same picture and look at them on the computer closely..

i have been using this phone for about 10 months now and i only have one complain. 1. why is this phone so tough? i have dropped it like, 6 times already, 2 drops were serious. the keypads are still going strong, all of them even the navigator, seem like it's never been used. it has withstood the harshest weather conditions: i bought it in the philippines (which is a very humid country) and i am now in saudi arabia (very dry and very hot country, temperature could go as much as 54 degrees celsius, severe sandstorms). unfortunately, some of the dust managed to get inside this phone, which i believe i do not have any idea on how to remove them.

I have over a year with this phone and its a good phone, it has good features. The camera has good resolution, not awesome but acceptable. The pros: slim, easy menu, mega bass, walkman button, loud speaker, flight mode, track id. The cons: battery and keypad uncomfortable at the begining. You should buy it only if what you want in a cell phone is: music, camera and memory in that specific order. Its a good phone if your needs are a little more than basic. Dont buy it if you are too picky!

1. sound quality. the sound quality is pretty impressive as it has several equalizer presets. you can do your own custom too. the sound through the speakers could be very loud but it is not as good as nokia 5300 (64khz vs 72khz). however, it can rival top of the line music players such as ipod on headset. also, listening through the headset will be a lot pleasurable as it comes with noise-out seals. 2. camera. you may be a little disappointed with the camera as it performs very poorly under dim to dark conditions. if the environment is well-lighted, you could also capture a very good caption. also, the light is very bright but not as bright to illuminate the subjects. 3. battery. it is expected that new batteries take time (about 1 week) to perform to their maximum potential. after about that "breaking", you will be surprised that the battery could last to up to 10 days.

Its a nice litte phone, but i have constantly had problems with the 4 and 6 buttons. They sometimes freeze, preventing me from dialing or writing texts. Th camera will not let you zoom in either if i wasnt for these major problems i would score it 8/10 but instead it gets 6/10

LOL when openfile manager.. int free 50mb ex free 1803mb no upgrade firmware version, drops about 4 times, but, never gets hang or somethin bad.. indeed all of my mp3s on my w610 are 64kbps!!! i listen 2 my songs threw standard hpm-70 headset or hbd-ds970 bluetooth headset n tbh i couldn't tell the difference between 128kbps n thats why theyre low quality !! 1mb = 2mins so a 3min song = 1.5mb !!!!! ive just tested cam driver v2.4 & v3.0 n tbh i think v2.4 performed better as ive got 2 w610 (I dunno why lol) to find out press >*

yea 4GB works fine keypad takes a little getting used 2 tho but good imo i think w610 is better than w810 ...w810 v.slow wen browsing pics on file manager n zooming on pics n camera interface is v.slow aswel compared to w610 !!! w610 is v.sleek n the glossy black front looks stunning with the orange back n imo i think w610 camera is better as it has a better n more reliable focus n sharper pics with better colours !!!!! w810 is abit better in the dark as w610 produces noisy/grainy pics in the dark !!!!!! hope this helps

My W610i now: 4GB M2 Card free memory: 82MB on M2, 16 on phone Songs: 1812 MP3s @ 64kbps usin 3669MB of the M2 memory!! :) Experience slowdown when on walkman only, theres a slight delay when goin threw songs artist tracks etc Cam version 3.0 (better pics in daylight although abit noisy at times but alot better colour than V2.3 but 2.3 takes alot better night pics) had the phone since 01/05/07 (15 months!!!) no automatic restarts unless it gets dropped hard!!

well I have this phone for one two weeks... so far so good :) I love the flash, the autofocus (the autofocus helps a lot) ut I don't know if there's a way to change the camera style, I mean taking photos vertically... Hi guyz! ^^ This fone won't let u down. It's better than any 2mpx-cam fones of other brand, I think. Especially when we mod it to the fine cam driver. The sound quality is top. 9 flash themes..... . quickly! remove your battery to avoid electrical shortcut.. then, use hair drier to remove the water inside.. but, dont make the phone too hot with that.. do that 3-5 times, then the next day u turn on it..

1 year pass away n still w610 is the best mediocre phone that I ever had.. Excellent phone with sleek design. Walkman is awesome with crystal clear sound. FM radio is also good. It works pretty fast with the 2GB M2 memory card with songs and pics packed over 1.5 GB. Browsing thru the mp3 files is cool. Camera is OK with 2MP. What i dont like is the extravaganza of the color at the battery cover. I hurt my thumb when i browse thru a long webpage coz of the tinu button. In fact a very good pick for a walkman freak.

Excellent phone. Easy to use track ball for browsing. It is also camera phone. The best thing is the FM radio and MP 3 player Battery life is good. The only bad thing I can say is the firmware that came with that. It hangs and does not work with the my computer both vista and XP. I use it with Explorer or my computer to transfer the songs from my computer tot he phone.

Hi mike. All sony ericsson phone software updates are available at sony ericsson website. I searched it through google. So u too search sony ericsson update service. First it will install a software and then use the Software to flash ur phone. In the mobile select screen select w660 and then it will download the update and finally install it in ur phone. Hurray u got urself a w660. Reply if success.

The W610i is a great phone.It has all the right specifications and it performs all its functions admirably.The Walkman feature is the best with great sound quality.Camera is excellent in daytime but it falters slightly while taking pictures at night.Mine is 6 months old but it has developed problems in its lighting system which are: 1)When the keypad is unlocked(keypad is locked at first),the phone light comes on after 5-6 seconds. 2)When the charger or headphones are plugged in the phone,the phone light turns off and then turns on after about 10 seconds(this happens instead of the usual blinking of the phone light 3 times).

Hey sid Well the one i am using is w610i but i have also used w810i and w660i. Forget the w810i. Choose w660i for looks and 3g. And choose w610i for edge and flash. Well personally i like w660i more than w610i. They are exact in every way other than the once i notified you. But the choice goes to you.

I bot dis fon 3 days bak n i hav bin on cloud 9, err... cloud 10 since den. Bliv me dis fon is gr8! Sound quality is very gud, the Mega Bass equaliser preset may b a reason alone to prefer the wakman series over others. The bundled earfons r really nice but they r tooooo gud in cutting off d ambient noise as u may not b abl to hear even ur friend shouting behind u! I ws a bit dissapointed over the fon's inbuilt speaker, but its gud. Crystal clear sound but lacking bass all together, but dats xpected i think. Camera is gud too. Daytime pics r wonderful but at nyt, the quality degrades. The keys may discourage heavy texters, but is gud 4 othrs well spaced n not at all as bad as it luks. The screen luks gr8! Man dont say a thing until you are 100% sure. The thing is that you might just have got a faulty w610i or maybe you are a monk (ha ha ha). None of the thing you said is true. The walkman sound quality is same as w950i. The camera result is good as honey (same as w810i). The batery life is as good as w700i. And the headset is so cool (hpm-70). So w610i is as good as honey.

i've just bought this phone recently a few days ago..and i'm going to mention the bad points first.i have to say that the MP3 sound quality is not as good as what i've expected..it's even worse than the W200. and the pictures i take comes out "yellowish" in some instances. and the earpiece speaker is soft and i can hear cracking sounds. might be the fault of the phone itself. Taking it back to the shop and see what he'll do about it. and the battery life goes down really fast after a few calls and listening to some songs. but it's still a nice phone..lol

Hey guys i wanted to give some usefull info. In the walkman player while playing music press and hold the volume buttons to go to the previous or next song.(this is usefull if the keypad is locked). In the same way use it to change frequencies. when using the radio. The reason is that the side keys are active even in the locked keypad. (Excluding the camera button) This is really great if you have automatic keypad turned on. This can be even done in the standby screen. The play/stop button is usefull too.

I got this fone yesterday and it's not as gud as my old W810i but from the specs...it's W880's bigger brother...it's reli kool. Ai like it. it'll take a while to get used to the keypad though. W810's was al about comfortable typing but i'm not as fast on this...at least not yet...

@ lake Thanx but this problem doesn�t resolve here. After pressing the last option �>add media� you will reach to the folders exist in fone memory not in the memory stick folders (music files usually kept in the memory stick due to their large size) so items from memory stick can not be loaded� :(

I found something weird about my W610. There was one night, when i m editting some photos while listening to songs with the WALKMAN player. ( i m using the Walkman theme on that time) Then after i done, the cursor in the menu changed, it changed into some part of my wallpaper( i m not using the wallpaper from the theme) After i reset the theme, it turned back normal. Does this happen to anyone of you ? Or something wrong with my phone ? Or maybe i worry too much...sorry if i am.

Friends, this mobile though have few negative issues like small keys, no 3G, no document viewer and low profile camera it has a lots and lots and lots of possitive points. This mobile can be your phone, mp3 player, mp4 player, voice recorder, camera with auto focus( good enough in bright light ), a torch, email and internet tool and organiser. I have used lots of mobiles old till latest from Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung. Plus PDA phones from Palm, HP and O2. I have never been able to play mp3 6 hours straight and still have about 52% of remaining battery to go even further. Superb sound quality. And above all just take a note of the price. If is one of the cheapest mobile with so many great features. Get used to the keys and you will not be able to live without this little friend. Have a great life.

@edward Well it could be a bug aswell as a virus. Anyway you can try this. First remove the memory card and then settings>master reset>reset all (your phone will be restarted and you will lose all data of your phone memory) Your problem may solve. Reply me if it helped you.

@Zara (In Walkman player play list can be easily made but can�t add any new item in existing playlist. Every time make a new playlist�) you can add new item in existing playlist. menu -> walkman -> more -> my music -> playlist -> selected playlist -> more -> add media if you are listening to that particular playlist when you add the items, then u have to change to other playlist then listen to that playlist again in order to make the items appear in the playlist.

to dy but i think you should really by the k800i it has a similar price. according to my experience, k800i has a 3.2mp, autofocus and 16times zoom (compared to 2.25 zoom). the screen is bigger and walkman or no walk man is no difference. the mp3 player is one of the best in the k series fone. only down point is the xenon lights only goes on when you are taking a picture

I hav been using W610i for one year and I think its a best mobile in much lesser price. Definitely the sound with its handsfree is awesome especially the mega base option in equalizer but if we compare the speakers� voice I found it slow and seems much light even my one LG mobile�s speaker sound is much higher and clear than it. This mobile never hangs if anyone got this problem then it would definitely the single set problem. Keys look hard but very easy to use as when u become used to it u will probably not like the flat keys of other mobiles. Camera gives gud results especially when using in yellow lights it gives quality pictures. Very nice pictures editing options. Flash is very sharp and may also be used without camera option. Screen is very bright and u can adjust the brightness as well. In MMS the slides may also be sent & received and the slide timing can be increased and decreased, more slides can be added and the formatting can be done with fonts and background. The MP3 can be used as Ringtone as well as Message alert tone and even in Alarms. Browsing is good and quite speedy in this mobile, although its also depends on wat services u are using. While talking about faults and errors first of all one thing which I really don�t like is that no FM recording� Second when we record any call the caller voice will be very slow than urs and a sharp beep is heard after every one minute and this is as obvious as even other person could hear this beep. So no hidden call recording� In Walkman player play list can be easily made but can�t add any new item in existing playlist. Every time make a new playlist� While using Bluetooth the sender mobile name doesn�t appear and after accepting the data the sender name appears on screen. Isn�t this dangerous�. Speaker voice is vague and not loud� Why didn�t yet sony erricson include the security coding system for messages (inbox) and for data (files). Why�.??? And finally the same problem that also born with nokia�s N70 & N73 sets that call history doesn�t repeat itself with different timings, only the last timing of any call will be shown. Faults are the parts of every mobile and W610i is a kind of very comprehensive mobile with minor faults. U will not find big errors and huge bugs in this set.

@ali The only difference is that k550im have a better browser (i-mode). No difference in shape or led. I recommend you to buy k550i because k550im is a buggy mobile, many bugs. Or if you want better internet, go for a 3g phone.

@ali Congratulation on the purchase of SE W610i. Well the finger prints problem seems to be in the orange version. I am using the silver version and there is no finger prints problem. Anyway you can ask me anything about w610i if any problem persist. And how do you like my suggestion about k550i.

This phone looks stylish and i like it. i bought the black and orange one, the only problem with me is it does leave a lot of fingerprints on it. (maybe i do sweat on my palm). Well, I have to be honest, before I have this phone, SE W610, I had the SE W810. In some applications it is much better the SE W610, because it's newer, the menus are faster than w810, have Track ID, Bluetooth Stereo for Hands free, the walkman 2.0 it's better than the mp3 player of the W810, by the other hand, the W810 has a better camera, the display TFT it's much better then display TFD which has the W610. However, I prefer the w610, but it�s not much the difference. I give you a little advice, if you have the W810 and you�re thinking to change for the W610, please don�t do that, change for another model o wait for something better.

To OxJN I have had the same question, when buying the phone. And i'm fully satisfied with my w610i. It's slim and stylish. Sound quality rocks and it has Flash menus. These phones are allmost twins, except of camera cover in K550i. Some may say, that camera quality in K550i is better, but my opinion is, that pictures taken with phone are all poor quality. Let's speak honestly, for a pictures - buy normal camera. Phone camera is only good for simple everyday shots. Choose which one looks nicer to you.

@Ranjan if tou want better camera,you should try k800i and don't k790i because its product has stoped... about music quality you should believe me the w700i is still better than w610i or k800i... the sound in w610 or k800i not loud as w700i(when using headphone) but in loudspeaker the w610i slightly perform better... my advice u just stick with your old w700i if you like listening song via headphone.... really walkman player 2.0 or 3.0 just better in the interface but sound's quality still the first walkman version is the best(in headset) trust me....

I've got this set last week. Its really gud for musik lovers, camera also nice but not as gud as k750 or w810. Its slim and stylish as compared to w810. I've satin black color that looks more appealing. Sounds not as loud as others, but this set really rocks with hand free and speaker cable and the myphoneexplorer s/w to use with pc.

great phone =) im really happy with mine replying to previous comment, if youre going to play games get the K790i, as the screen resolution is higher. The K790i probably has superior hardware, although the W610i comes bundled with some good accessories.

For those of you complaining that W610i's camera doesn't have zoom, please note that digital zoom is a synonym for 'no zoom'. The digital zoom available on other phones achieve zoom only by degrading the picture quality and no other 2 mpix camera can produce larger images than the W610i. If you need zoom, use your PC or image browser.

Got this phone last week as a replacement of W810. So as compared to W810 most of the features are same but Camera is pathetic. No Night Mode, No Zoom (in 1 and 2MP Modes). After 1 week, cam got some error and there is a verticle blue line in it. When checked from the service center they said that Camera will be replaced and it will take a week. Otherwise Walkman is good (V2).

well got a replacement phone on the friday, and did not connect it to that computer, i works great now. Thanks for the info, but i really think the phone got a virus, because there were duplicate files of the phone's folders that were not deleting, and when you tried to send somethin it said memory full. It did do that before. Btw great phone i compared it to my friends w810i and the screen and sound is way better on the w610i

I bought this phone as a replacement for my old K700i and I have been using it for almost a month. I am shocked that nobody reported the main problem with this phone: the call quality is TERRIBLE! Voices are very muffled, sometimes metallic, and there are often interruptions or echo during conversations. Only 10% of the time, I get a clear enough call sound, comparable to what I was used to with my previous phone. Conversely, the person on the other end hears all too well: sounds are so amplified that it becomes hard to talk on a busy street, since background noises can cover my voice. Sure, it has an excellent sound for MP3 music with earphones, decent picture quality, etc... but it seems other users are forgetting that this is primarily a phone, and that call quality is the most important. I know I am in a excellent reception area (my old phone still has perfect call quality), so I assume the W610i phone is to blame - or that I got a faulty model. I had two other Sony Ericssons and never experienced this before. I hope this warning may help other people considering to buy this phone, because it is fast becoming useless to me...

REPLY: DCIM - this is the folder in which the photos taken from the w610 camera. You cannot delete it, this is a default folder. Installing Games - try to put the games files on the Memory card folder and not on the Phone memory. Virus? - Java phones can't be infected with any virus. I have had this phone for 2 months now. Absolutely no complaints. The walkman/in-ear headphones are GREAT (even on a airplane). No need to invest in noise canceling headphones. I don't use the camera much since I am a photographer and own professional equipment

camera is typical k550 types , very little difference not noticeable to the untrained eye , which implies the camera is very good for still shots one of the best 2 meg pix around try reducing the image size to vga if you have to use the zoom feature for the camera but people this is a music centric phone , and extremely good at it peace out :)

to people who think that the w810 is better than the w610 the slot of the charger and the headsets in the w810 is at the bottom so when u listen to your music on the go the headset disconnects very quickly especailly when u set or move quickly unlike the w610 as the slot is at the left side which is very comfurtable and u wont face this problem at all. I had both of them but the w610 is better in sound quality, the camera which have new interface and new settings also the size and the thickness beside the colors and the style.

this phone is much brighter than the W800i for example, so i keep it at 80% brightness. i had problems with it at the beginning but it was all solved after i replaced my SIM card. it's an excellent mobile phone and while the buttons may seem strange at first, u get used to them after 1 hour playing around

to Dani the w610 doesn't have alight sensor and the secreen brightness is very strong and it is brighter than the w810 one. The sound of the speakers is higher than the w810. the headsets are the same of the w810 with the same quality of pass.

hey I just got mine today Iam an old walman user I used the W700 W810 w850 and finally the w610 it is fascinating and i really recommend it specially it doesn't have the light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment which really gave me hard times in the W810 and W850 but i guess the camera of the w810 ia better great phone

No problems at all. 4GB M2 is the nearest possible option but I am also considering 8GB so that I won't have to buy an mp3 player to replace my 4GB Ipod Nano (which sounds terrible). well...i just change da acoustic file n make it louder n more deep bass when i used 1G M2..Then i change to 2G M2 and still this brilliant phone performing reeaalllyyy good..no lags n hangs at all.. n now...i already change to 4G M2...NO LAGS at all.. still i can keep all my songs and videos..and keep my baby loaded.. i think W610i is one of the best model that SE ever produced..some of the user also use 8G M2..but i dunno whats the affect..they said that the phone still performing well n no lags n hangs.. =) .. And about the wmv, yea..i CANT play video with that format.. this phone only support MP4 n 3GP format in either 240x320 pixels or 176x144pixels

Yea...you cant zoom in megapixel image in camera mode..but u can zoom in the pictures folder. In the camera mode u can zoom only when u change the size of the photo to VGA mode.

for camera part my w800i pictures looked great both on phone and on pc. Much better than n73 k800i and nokia 5700. I owned all these phones and have uploaded their photos on pc. Well, there is 1 word to discribe thiz fone: "AMAZING". First iz the speed- very fast, battery life better than the other Music fone i think, sound quality iz over greated , especially when listen wit Walkman headfone(it also has Megabass). Image quality iz not really well when u see it on ur comp', but if u still not satisfied wit cam quality, turn on the Twillight Landscape Mode, then u'll see W610i iz Top of the Great! Luv it so much.

I have compared between w610 n w810 n also k550 for camera result.. yeah, w810 has more focal lens, & at glance, w810 result better than w610 when u see at TFT 1.9" display.. but,,, w610 camera pic result better than w810 when u see at computer monitor! superb, rich colour n better white balance! 10/10 for w610! for: camera, sound, price, interface! And no, this phone is fairly good for texting as the small buttons are spaced quite far apart. The 2 MP camera this phone has is also one of the best mobile 2 MP cameras out there as it has autofocus, digital zoom for videos, and dual flash.

The keypad isn't something that you can scratch easily. Since the buttons are so small, if you managed to scratch it (I haven't and mine's 6 months old) then it wouldn't be noticeable.

w610 is the best phone for the money. Picked up two @ $200 each last week. 4gb mem stick makes it the perfect music player. The UI is very easy to work with. The camera is not that bad. Multitasking is a joy with this phone. Maybe I will buy the c702 when it comes out in april...but for now..this is it!

sound quality through speaker is high and it is too loud. but if you are looking for a sound that's stereo quality through it is impossible because the phone is so small. when you switch it to maximum volume, the whole unit vibrates. sound quality is superb. it can rival an ipod nano. trust me. just use the stock headset. i couldn't believe the quality of sound it produces. maximum volume is too loud. i just look at this small device and wonder in amazement how could so much features be fitted in one tiny package.

(+) slim, new java software, speakerphone sound quality better than w810, but the loudness same like w810., batt life is decent n better than w810.. thanks to TFD display tech. walkman 2.0 friendly UI. (-) cam quality not better than w810.., n the keypad quiet tiny.. but, thats not troubled me.. although my thumb big.. LOL. but in my opinion, the keypad has better respond than w810.. arash, pick w610..

The cam quality is decent. For a 2 Mega Pixel camera it is above average because it has autofocus. You shouldn't have any troubles, but then of course it is a phone camera and that will not rival a proper digital camera. The sound quality is NOT better than an iPod Nano, or any iPod for that matter. Very few mobile phone MP3 players actually rival a proper MP3 player in terms of sound quality or loudness at the moment. Don't ever expect an all in one device to beat a dedicated device. Not for a few years at least!

@ lrak_nayr dark shots is w610's weakness. But when there is good lighting condition (outdoors, gardens, living room etc.) it will knock out N73's 3.2 MP. Sound is superb. I suggest you buy headset HPM-64, has better bass than the bundled HPM-70. If you want to update the firmware, just go to the nearest Sony Ericsson Shop near you. Glorietta, MOA, Megamall etc.

guys! i bought this phone yesterday..and as i've checked all the specs/ features..i found out that there are some pros and cons in this phone.. first.. CAMERA: not that good (compared to my gf's K610) when i took pics at night, it seems that the flash mode is not that worth it! K610's night mode is better with w610's light on feature! and when i took pics in my room just this morning, it seems that that pics taken turn a little bit yellowish! (is there something wrong with my camera's setting? pls advise) MUSIC: not that loud enough when loudspeaker mode is on (compared to my previous n3110 classic) but when playing music with headphones...hmmm..that's a total blast! hehe MEMORY: i still have the 512 MB card and had it loaded with 100 mp3s already..hehe.. i am also storing the camera pics, themes, ringtones, etc in the phone memory coz i still have 65+ MB free...hehe.. Oh dear, I seem to be having some more problems; 1) When I open a playlist then try to add media, it doesn't open up the mp3 folder, just ringtones,videodj etc. Is there a setting to change this?? 2) When you open tracks in 'my music' they are all in aphabetical order, is there any way to change this to album track order? Any help appreciated!

@lafayette thanks for your response dude... actually, i checked again the prices at SM frvw, and i saw the price of w810 as low as Php 7,700 and k810 for Php 10,500..now, i'm still quite confused because i saw that they have a stock of w850 and w910! well this phone's software is absolutely as good as it can get ! Sound quality is as usualy with Walkman phones (AWESOME). Buy it wont regret...o and takes awesome pictures too:D !

This is now the only fone anyone should buy! The price in my country (U.A.E) has been crashing this week. It used to be more than the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic but now its the same price, Im not sure why - could be because the W890 is on the way, or maybe its not selling coz people are scared away by the keypad. I personally like the keypad, great for texting by feel. I think it is also the last of the "cybershot walkmans". It seems SE have decided they won't be putting camera lights or even autofocus in any more W series phones,judging by the models that came after the w610 and the ones that are still to come. This is probably to differentiate the walkman and cybershot brands more. So the moral of the story... hold on to your w610i. Its very special, or better still, go buy another one for someone special, they are going cheap!

@ naresh, some say the memory can be expanded up to 4 GB without any noticeable lag in performance.

@iraknayr, w610 is the best phone among the 3. the only edge of the k series is its camera. trust me, it would be a big mistake not to consider the audio quality. im not saying that the audio in k series is bad, but really not better. and oh yeah, w610 now costs a little more than 9k, choose w610. it's tough, cool, and great.

yeah you can use led light as flash light. just go to organizer>light>on/on for 10 minutes. by the way, i know you must have known it by now. silly me for being such a stupid to not have known that.

I own both Ipod and SE w610, the latter wins by a wide margin in terms of music quality. My friend has Nokia N73 ME, still the w610 wins.

I have a question. I like to text people with my Motorola Razr and i am thinking of getting this phone. Are the buttons really bad for texting?

yeah, there areeee many phone with 2mp BUT not identical.. w610 has 2mp but cannt be compared with k750 that has differnt 2mp lens.. in fact, w610 has 3.8mm focal lens compare to k750: 4.8mm longer focal lens could produce more quality shot.. hey, my w610 louder than k750.. check the firmware.
