Fun fact. We've used a lot of Nokias. All made in different European countries. All have at least one minor gripe, some failed completely. We've also had Samsungs. Made in Korea IIRC. Mostly good but some had their share of trouble. Two Sony Ericssons as well. (This one and a T630.) Both MADE IN CHINA. BOTH 100% functional today. Just think about it.

Use it since 2008 up to today. Now, after a million times of falling onto floor, the display isn't working properly and I'm really sad to switch to another (smart)phone. I love it and it always did great service. Real cool thing. 1 negative: the usb-cable/headphone connection to the phone is the worst I ever seen. The inventor of this must be on hell of bad drugs that days, geez!

I have this phone since it was released. I took a shower with it, threw it out of a driving car, tossed it to the ground really hard a 100 times... It looks like shit, cause half of the red paint wore off. But it still works, every button works, everything is in place, the back cover stays in it's place.. This phone NEVER failed me. This is an awesome phone. Pure quality. :D I am very pleased. If only phones were that good these days...

i have use this phone for 4 yrs . i m typing it from this phone. still full condition , no complaint , awsome sound clarity with super bass. but sound is not loud to compare with other phones . one day i REMOVED THE BACK BODY PORTION of the phon , i really shocked with that ,what the amazing really loud sound . I have been using this phone for more than 3 years now. got a xperia X8 a year ago but I have been using it without a sim card cuz it was in my W660. I wanted to keep my old phone forever. its sound quality was much better than the x8 and the bass was amazing. I have dropped the phone countless times but its still working well. keypad is not working well, cover has worn out, screen is scratched badly. But I still use this phone in public alot. But I think its time to put the phone to rest since I cannot use it much anymore cuz the 3.5 mm jack earphone thingy is not working well so I cant hear music. I will miss my phone. it was very beautiful and functional. I'll keep it in My drawer as a backup phone D':

I have this phone, had it on March 2008 stopped using it June 2011.. bought an android phone.. It looks cool and was contented with it.. Casing is now destroyed, together with the keypad and keypad flex. its too hard to find original replacements for this model... The Programmimg or its software is still good now though.. I carry it now.. i use it as a decoy in case some one tries to Steal or Rob my android phone.. Ill hand that if ever.. lol I was haapy with the phone.. Battery did grow like a ballon and had to replcae it

I've had my little W660 since about April or May 2007, and like you say, I've used it hardcore! :D I even used to use its bluetooth mouse cursor remote to watch movies from my laptop on the TV! I'm very keen on an Android device now (obviously not moving away from SonyEricsson) but what I will miss most are the physical buttons and keypad.

Since I got the phone 2 years ago I've had nothing but problems with it. Everything from the the battery not wanting to recharge because the coard doesn't end up in the exactly right position to the screen freezing so I had to rip the battery out to be able to use it. And the phone last summer refused to send text messages for 2-3 months in a row without a reason. I even asked a friends mom who works at Ericsson what might be wrong but she couldn't solve it. But fortunatly for me the phone started to work again so I can send text messages. If you won't use the phone a lot then its a good extra phone. If you are gonna use this as your main phone then I suggest another one. And even though this is a walkman phone the sound from its loudspeakers aren't even worthy to be called louderspeakers. The sound is low with todays standards and if you have the sound on the highest volume the sound gets "bad" and destroys songs. That's at least what I've gotten out of this phone.

i just bought this phone yesterday in used. i checked it on the shop with a mobilink sim, it was working perfectly then finall when i was to pay the price, i changed the sim. it was perfectly working even then. after leaving shop,in the next 20min i did messages and 1 0r calls and put in my pocket. after sometime when i took it out of my pocket there was a message "insert sim" even when sim is inside. i checked it by changing sim again but same result. kindly tell me what kind of a problem it can be? wether solvable or not?

I have had this phone for 2 years, this phone is very cool, the sound is great, i'm using shincan acoustic in this phone, it's better than peter acoustic, if you want to download it, you can go to se-indo dot net. I'm using hemo's camdriver, so when i take a picture with this phone the quality of my images is like cybershoot phone, and the other advantage is flash menu, u can use flash menu in this phone, and also u can change the model of this phone by cross flash it, u can change this phone into k610, k618 and k530. So if you want to buy a music phone u have to buy w660. It's the best music phone i ever had

this is really a Walkman phone. It gives fabulous sound from the head set ( bass,midd & treble ). Battery can use for long when listen to the music. 3g video calls working properly. key pad is so soft & easy to use. but don't buy if you are looking for good camera. coz this is music phone. but the gold paint of the strip of the housing can be scratched. this perfect & i love it.

This was my fifth mobile after Nokia 2110, Samsung R220, Nokia 2600, 6610i & 6280. I bought it in July 2008. It was my first foray in SE. Unfortunately I could not use it much and lost it in November. In 3-4 months in which I used it, I loved its sound quality. Camera was not good. Screen size and buttons were small. Overall it looked more feminine. I think it was targeted for that market. If someone's first priority is sound. If somebody wants a walkman which can make calls, take notes and can take average pictures, this is the ideal phone.

I have the same problem with the headset connector but i had solved by sticking some paper beetwen every jack of the headset and it doesnt pop up anymore. Simple and quick and you do not have to change the connector tough you might not find it in other sonyericsson model.

I own this w660 phone. It is a good phone and never regret getting it. The only thing I don't like is, if you notice there's this round gold paint in the middle of the phone, the color fades away after sometime, but still look good if you do not notice it. Camera quality good without flash. Thumbs up!

The great music phone.. I had this set around 9 months and it works is fine..Never given me anyproblem.. As far I know,it has good soundspeaker, Very loud and crispy sounds also pretty well design.. After 4 years, it still does not improve! My first phone was a SonyEricsson T610. Just like T610, W660 headset socket does get a bit loose after approx. 6mos of usage. And they marketed it as a WALKMAN phone. Tsk!

definetely not a good idea to buy this one:) I mean it's a great phone but you will save some money purchasing K530 and flashing it with the w660 software. I have this combination for about a year and it's damn good :) also the K530 looks better( in my opinion) so now I have better looking phone (than this one), cheaper, with walkman software and everything that w660 got :) Just google and you'll find out how the flashing is done, it's not too hard :)

one year now i use this phone. anyway its great phone sound, use and hard work. but buttery become slow now . it was 2 days with hard use. 3 days with normal use now it give me 1 day in hard use and may b in normal use not last 2 days. and in this year i had changing the charging slot. in the bottom of the phone. and last week i changed the ear speaker. :(:(:( i don't know what matter with sonyericsson company. i used that its great company with great cells u have the cell and forget about it more than 2 or 3 years. even it here in Egypt cost more than any brand. i love this phone and i love sonyericsson. but plz they must take care of the quality of they products now. I'm worried about buying a new sonyericsson cell phone.

I and my friend have been loyal to Sony-ER brand for last many years. BUT on this occasion we are extremely disappointed with W660i as I/we are regular buyers of SE phones. We used K-750 / K-500 for over 3 years those handsets never gave us any problems. We bought this phone for PKR 11,3oo/- from SE authorized dealer and it was ok set with some good features, but a below average 2 MP camera. Suddenly within one week time, the W 660i started to give trouble us and rather became a nuisance to use. We are not concerned whether people say or this site says that it is a good phone. Reviews are not always correct even if rendered by a professional. The user is the best judge as he or she has suffered in the hands of the manufacturer. The W-66o has the following major defects Rapid battery discharge during conversation Reoccurring Hang-up problem Self switch off problem As we told old SE phones were reliable but current SE phones are not reliable. My office colleague has SE K-810, he also faced Hanging problem and was fed up with his set and finally got rid of his set. We are sorry but compelled to say that build quality of Sony ER phones has come down to a level of a cheap Chinese phones. Most of the parts inside are Chinese hence prima facie poor. We do not mind if this SE PHONE is mostly Chinese, but at least the chaps sitting at SE headquarters should have actual quality control dept in China and other countries where these SE phones are currently assembled. Now we have concerns over the build quality of other SE models. Sony ERIC is supposed to the best in the market which excels in design, sound, camera as compared to Nokia and Samsung and other manufactures ---THEN WHY such a abysmal product from such a branded Entity. i would recommend this phone as ive had itfor nearly 2 years..however it is getting quite slow over the last 6 months..switches itself off ocaisionaly..and feezes sometimes..now when i plug in the usb cable my computer doesnt reconise it which is really anoying..yes it does sratch really easily aswell..i won it on a radioshow so cant take it back as i dont have a reciept and dont know where it was bought from!

i have this phone for more than a year now, i am a guy and i have the red one with flowery design at the back part of the phone. i havn't had any problems with my phone, keys are good, music is very good, especially with the high quality headphone, better than all headphones instead, comparable to shure or bose headphones. dropped it a hundred times and still worked perfectly. the only problem that i have on this phone is it is full of scratches now, looks ugly but works perfectly.

CAMERA QUALITY: But the camera quality is real bad compared to W810 which i owned previously...u ll b disappointed 4 sure... 2.NO REWIND IN VIDEOS: Also there is no separate player for videos. i was using w660i and now i am using k660i..k660i is much more better for walkman and camera..it has 3.0 media player..the k660i sound is same good to w660i if you use walkman earphone...i am using M2 4GB and everything is fine run smoothly without hnag or restart after i updating the software from sony ericsson's web...

I've had the W660 for the last year now and it has been excellent!!! I just had it jacked by some stupid **** kid... I'm thinking about upgrading to another Sony Ericsson but this phone was great. I just might buy it again. Camera's great for a 2.0 its fast great display everything.

The sounds, display, UMTS, Walkman, messaging, connection and especially for java...are perfect. This phone support more than one multitask for java...I did'nt expect that this phone would be this magnificent. And also, keypad is soft - comfort for typing... I am satisfied, good job SE!

Hi sahan, actually the maximum memory support of this fon is only 2GB. If u use 4GB, it can work, but later on it can damage the mainboard n u will start 2 experience problems like system hang & freezes, system becomes slow, phone don't turn on & so on. I have had my w660 for more than 6 months now and I still adore everything about. I have the red model with intricate designs at the back. Since the memory card that came along with it was limited, I opted to buy another with a higher memory capacity. It has everything you need - from music, to radio, to pictures and videos. My only problem is it has no flash so its not advisable to take pictures and videos when there is limited light. Just think of it this way, when I put my phone out in the mall to call or text, I hear people whisper "Look at her phone, its so shick and feminine, what unit is that?", leaving me smiling to myself. :) Its a must buy guys, but I see that this model is not that common in the Philippines anymore.

The camera in this is OK but nothing special. Phone cameras are limited by space - the larger your lens size the clearer the photos you can take. To be honest, 2MP on this phone's camera is overkill. You don't get that much info out of the picture. Most stock kinda phone cams won't give you better than 1.3MP WORTH of IMAGE INFORMATION.

well for the past 1 yr i had been using 2 cellphones cause i need to use 2 sim cards. i have a primary phone a Nokia N81 and the secondary is an old W810, as much as fun the Nokia Power Phone is i really think i otta sell the old W810 and buy this instead so should cause i never actually liked SAMSUNG cause they make you feel the money you spent on it just isnt worth it so should i ditch W810 for this or keep playing with N81 and later replace 810 with a better phone

I have one of these and it's a lovely phone but I agree with j get a K530 instead or cough up for a W760 - may be twice the price but is twice the phone too. It really is a K530 in a new suit with a play button. My case rattles when it vibrates so build quality maybe not as good as other SE phones ... have to say I hate SE's connector thing it's not as reliable as 3.5mm plug + mini USB so on that basis you might want to get a Nokia.

i loved this phone, its been through everything and still going strong 18 months later, but just got offered a new contract, i would defo recommend this phone. great quality photos (once transferred to your PC) great sound quality. the only downside is that you can't zoom when taking photos and i could never figure out how to put it on the right settings for night photos (or it just can't take good photos in the dark)) all in all its a good phone

to ddd.hi guys im a w660i user so i heard you are having problems in transfering muzik. so here goes. transfer of files is possible in 2 ways either from blutooth or from computer. simply put the cd given and install the disk 2 software into ur pc and by doing so a new drive will be shown in the my computer that iz ur phone. if u r still having problem contact me at [email protected].

Heyy all! w660 is a great fone but i have an issue with it, dunno if it's an issu even...when i send a message and then put on the walkman but dont play any song, when delivery report of the message comes, the orange lights of the fone start flickering and blinking and the dont stop unless u go to dthe fone features and then return to the walkman, and i have also turned off the 'lighting effects' of the walkman...2 other of my friends also have w660 and they also have the same issue, dunno if its normal...plz do try it wth ur fones and leem know! And wht do u think could be the reason for this? Do respond people! Thnx!

I really want this phone although i have w910i but i am still unsatisfied with that feature that i can't use it like sense me and also the HSPDA that my area can't detect it.I want to change it to W660 because of the eccentric design and the loud sounds other reasons are i really want the simple feature n also the circles on the back phone which is incridible but i am worry about the small screen and the small music button overall i really love the design very much hopely my parents will allow me to change it

i had posted b4 that i just got this phone. now after few days of using w660i i will say that its amazing phone. battery life with me now using gsm and 3g networks is 2 days. sound in ringing and in earphone is very good. and for the camera i don't use it alot but i can say it is good. and what i like in this phone its slick small and have all things u need in ur handset. i think i got the best phone that i can use in my daily needs.

Nice price phone.. Everything u can expekt from a Walkman phone, (yes it includes megabass in the equalizer), here in Sweden its at an amazingly low price right now, about 150 euro.. Its worth the double in my opinion.. Go get it! :)

i had this phone yesterday after reading alot of comments about it. i didnt discover all about it but its very nice. sound is good. earphone is good 2 and have a great network reception. also its easy to use and keybad is good useful 2 me.also the screen is great even its less pixels but its good. i'll post again after i use its all futures .

@Johny, Of course K530 is also very modern handset. But it is disappointing that it has no music button. What will you do if you want to pause the music just for a moment, while in standby or while reading messages? But 'K618i' though not completely a walkman handset, has the music button in addition to the great sound through its speakers. But a walkman handset like W660 is more music oriented - has the music key as well as megabass.

guys you can see k530i instead of w660i b'cause k530 comtain 3G and the same camera(2mp),and great PROCESSOR SPEED exceeding nokia N95,It also enables GPS by connecting HGE-100, which is not seen in w660i.K530i is also a budget phone that contain similar facility like w660i.I request to the guy's please also verify k530 in this website about k530 great function and also read the enthusiastic user opinions of k530i.

This Phone mirrors the Sony Ericsson K610i!! if you ask me, i'll just buy the K610i. its cheaper and it has the same features of W660- minus the radio and very minor stuff... it just costs more because it carries the Walkman trademark!! in short, its a K610i with a Walkman features...no wonder a K610 can be converted to a W660 through flashing...

I've been using this phone for over a month and there's nothing I can complain about. Haven't downloaded the photos taken with it, so I can't really tell how they really look on a computer. Incoming calls are, obviously, heard when music is playing. The battery lasts pretty well, considering that I listen to a lot of music with it and talk on the phone a lot. The menu isn't very easy to get used to with, but it's okay. Overall, it's a pretty good phone. And that rose/cherry red is absolutely amazing! :D

nice phone. the sound is good, u can install a lot of games.u can use different themes, u can even use it as a flask disk for ur file when u really need it. u can watch a movie on it. very flexible. just need to re charge it all the time.

For those saying the battery doesn't last long... 3G Sony Ericssons do have very poor battery life, however they do have the option to turn off 3G mode and just use GSM. If you do this the battery will last much longer...

This is a not so good fone for you. Its walkman but the battery life would not speak of its characteristic. The camera isnt good, video is pixelized and very poor during the night because it has no light/flash. But its slim and handy.

Hi. I got this phone 2 weeks ago, after losing my Sony Ericsson K700i. I HONESTLY think this phone is good. It's slim and light, and the music is AWESOME - except when you play it out loud, because the speakers are small. But otherwise, if you plug in earphones (the way that you SHLD be listening to music), then this is really a good walkman phone. The battery seems OKAY-okay. it can last up to 4 days. Is that considered good? I honestly find it okay. The camera is not that good, but when you transfer the photos to a computer, the quality actually gets better. In total, this phone really is a rather good choice. I don't regret buying it (: I'd rate it 8.5/10

This phone is not for someone who fancy high quality camera but for music very excellent, better than most mp3 player. Size and design are very good. I'm happy with the purchase. You need to spend more $ in order to get better specs phone. At the price i pay around US200 i think its a value deal. 3G connectivity is limited to 384kbps only via UMTS 2100Hz. No HSDPA, this is another down side.

Nyah. For all those people who always whine about loudspeaker thing and image quality of these fones, please cut it out. If you really want great pics, then buy a digicam or dslr if you can afford one and if you really want loud and crisp music, then buy a home theatre system. Everything here are fones, Fones that try to give you a lil more than just the usual communications feature. You guys have been whining too much almost about any fone. Jeez!

Well this is my second post here. I previously posted earlier saying how my camera just stopped working on this model. So now since i live in the US and i bought the phone when i was in sweden, i had to send it to my cousin in sweden so that she can take it to have it fixed. the warranty is not international and they were gonna charge me 185$ to have an attempt to fix it. so they told my cousin it would take 3 weeks, and then she gets the phone back and its not even fixed. also, my cousin bought this phone too and within 7 days she had problems with it. when she called someone she would hear hissing sounds or something in the background. so yeah, i def would not recommend this phone, since its not just me having trouble with it. i am so very disappointed. i always had nokia phones, and i dont know what made me decide to get a sony, but after this one, i will never ever buy a sony again!!!!

i've been using this phone for 3 months now. i do not recommend this phone, the keys are very badly designed, pressing back key, the navi-down or the cancel key makes you press 1, 2 or 3 respectively. it's so nice to look at but the usability is very bad. if you do SMS more than calls, this phone is not for you. horrible keypad sound quality is nice only if the mega bass is turned on while using headphones, the loudspeaker is very weak! i did not expect a weak loadspeaker from a walkman phone at all. the screen display is very bad (coarse pixels) considering the fine pixel screens of the W610, W880 and K810 (the SE phones that released in the same time period as W660). the keys's color coating will fade too, starting from the 2 bulging points of key # 5. but its nice size makes it nice inside the pocket and it looks nice, these are the only good things about it.

It's just that my friend likes a few SE Walkman series phones including this model & I was thinking of gifting her this one. But my main concern is the Speaker. Yes the speaker, can anyone please tell me how is the speaker volume output on the SE walkman series phones while playing mp3 music & incase this model does mot sound good, then which particular walkman series model would be a good option that sounds loud. I love everything about this phone except for the fact that I can't get the MMS and WAP set up to work. My carrier said to use the Vodafone install and I tried that, I tried downloading from the SE site all with no luck at all. I bought the phone from a company in Hong Kong (i'm in Australia) does anyone know if this makes a difference? Amra You will have to send your phone to the Sony Ericsson warranty. Otherwise, you can download the SEUS program from the Sony Ericsson site and try to download some update firmware which could fix your problem.

Ok, I bought this phone (it is a w660i actually) when i was on holiday in Sweden about a month and a half ago. I loved this phone from the get go, but i seem to be having a problem with my camera now. When i try to go into the camera mode, the screen turns black and on the bottom of it, it says for help press 0. I try to press 0, but then the phone shuts off and turns back on after about 5 seconds. Can someone please tell me what that means and how i can fix it?? I am unable to take pics or make videos anymore:( Please dont tell me that the camera funtion is doomed:( Thanks to anyone who answers this :):)

Hey, I've got this phone and the battery isn't Li-Ion it's Li-Pol (polymer) which is much lighter and much, much better than any li-ion battery, and is also more expensive. I love my phone though and wouldn't change it for any other except maybe the K850i...when it comes out!

hey guys flash are only for cybershot phones, other phones has only photolight. photolight are not flashes.. they are just a white light that helps in dark places, flash are different one, its 5x brighter than photolight. so that makes a cybershot different from any other non cybershot phones. so dont fool yourself asking a flash on a walkman... its just photolight. besides if you really cares for camera and a flash then why ask for a walkman with a photolight??? photolight really doesnt have a big difference at all like flashes do.... you guys are asking for a photolight thinking it will make your walkman to be a camera phone hahaha!!! what a dumb all you are... you want a flash, then buy a cybershot, you want a good music then buy a walkman phone dont be dumb. just as simple as that.

From what I see this is just a better version of the W610i (which is a great phone), with UMTS instead of EDGE and a secondary video-call camera. And of course has a "funkier" cover. BTW it doesn't look like it has an LED flash, the W610i has two of em, and they look quite different from what can be seen on the back of the w660. Anyways, Sony Ericsson makes great and price- worthy phones.

I got this phone a few days ago, the only bad thing is the camera, otherwise it is EXCELLENT !!! I guess it is one of those phone where you LOVE or HATE it. I simply love it, mine is the black color, more masculine type. The MP3 is definitely loud. The SMS Font are big enough. The DPad need a bit to get used to as it shaped like a Joystick and I keep pushing it, hahaha. One Design Flaw is the Volume Key and Play/Pause button EXACTLY on Right and Left. I'm used to holding my phone with both fingers, pressing Volume will cause me to press the Play/Pause button too, which its irritating. The weight feel heavy initially and I feel the grip is not so good, too smooth, almost feel like it is slipping away from my hands. I dont like the way the Eyelet is designed, have to remove the Battery Cover to installed Handstrap, the hole are just too small, thus I dont use hand strap for this phone. otherwise, this is an EXCELLENT phone =) My pix of W660i :

who cares about autofocus, if you are out to get a picture with a better focus there is accessories for it to buy later, a kind of small magnifying glass that you put on over the lens. Tip: cover the lens out from dirt and moist during non-usage.

I think this looks awsome, love that they've used the similar keypad from the k800 as opposed to the tiny little button traditionally seen on a walkman handset(W880i!) Looks impressive, different choice of colours which is always good fun, for those who like to be different. Shame they didn't incorporate the auto focus feature and at least a basic light function somewhere on the set. Would seem as though the W810i & W850i still have the lead in this department. This would have made an ideal mid-way point inbetween the cybershots and the walkmans. Other than, i'v had my eye on this since i herd the k810i was on the loose! Have continually checked the systems at work and have now discovered that the product code has been set up on it! I.E. when the code was set up for the k810, it was about 4-6 weeks then we had the first lot come in to cpw. Fingers crossed peops, not long now...

Can anyone tell whether new SE phone, does it play video at native resolution, like this phone 220x176? My old W700i only plays at 176x144 only while my W850i thankfully enough it does play at native 320x240 resolution Been thinking of buying this phone to replace my W850i (its too bulky) if it does play video at 220x176. to all of you guys saying w660i has bad design looks, and rated the design very low, you might be drunk.. or maybe because you are just seeing the only main available photo here which is the rose red color version. i agree that yes its only good for girl's eyes. the specs are good enogh for my needs, but the looks is godlike walkman!!!! 10 rate is not enough for the design! should be 20/10!! :) try seeing this black photo to enlighten your eyes once again.

although this is a typical SE model, the color and goldish trimming, imho, does make quite a difference. I personally find this phone very attractive coz it gives an "exclusive" impression, especially the red one. but... given that SE has recently launched it's first HSDPA phone (z750), i think i'll wait for the rehashed version of this phone with HSDPA that i assume should also be coming soon.

mmm.. ppl keep on comparing. for me i think this phone will be a nice walkman phone with big screen. to be sorry to say that, if you want a phone that have everything. then go to SE and ask them to custom make u one. money solve everything. want a better camera, spend more. get a digital camera then. even human can't do not much thing at one time. don expect so much on the phone. phone company add other features is for making the phone more convenience not for superb feature. they don want to put all the fancy function in one phone because they want to make it a budget phone. besides, if they do so. all the engineer and r&d personnel will be out of job soon.

thanks ellen. hello guys, we should be happy for what SE is doing, maybe you cant see the real advantage. we should be thankful, why? because they are creating phones to compete w/ other brands and not to compete w/ their own product, like other brands is doing, just like the n70, who will buy it? because there is n73 and the n73 got all the features of n70 and much upgraded. so you see n73 competes w/ other brands and at the same time out do his pal n70. too bad for n70 users. so the old n70 is dead. but not for SE they creates phones that really will not out play the old ones, just like w810i and w880i, you cant say w880i is better because its new, cos w810i has better camera... and you also cant say the old w810i is better cos w880i is very stylish and has 3G over w810i. so things like that, the bottom line is if you have an old SE phone its still has value because SE phones dont compete w/ each other, they compete w/ other brands, and that makes SE very successful.

You're right. For me SE is realistic. If you want a phone then that's it! If you want a camera then buy a camera instead. From the technical point of view a phone-sized camera would only need 2Mp. How can they put a big sensor if the the size of a camera is small? 2mp is well enough to produce a good picture provided the sensor is big enough to capture a true 2mp picture size. I suggest we read about digital photography so we will know about the no. of pixels in relation to camera sensors. For me W660 is a good phoen based on its specifications.

What is wrong with a 2MP anyway? So many of you are complaining it's too low, it's too low.. But I get the feeling that it's because you just want the security in knowing you have the highest quality camera available. Some people - like myself - don't need a 3.2 MP camera or a 5MP camera.. 2 MP will do me just fine. I, like i'm guessing would be the majority of users, won't be printing out photos on big A3 sheets. 2MP is enough to fill the screen of a computer with great detail. As a matter of fact, I would not purchase a phone that had a 3 MP camera, simply because the camera would then jut out of the phone (see N93, K800i, etc). For those who DO want a 3 MP camera.. Go out and sacrifice the shape and size of your handset for such a feature. THAT is why this walkman handset is not a walkman 3MP camera. Because that would defeat the purpose of a walkman phone where shape, size, sound and cost are more important, with the younger generation who would buy these phones not all looking to pay the extra cost of an upgraded camera.

syed shahzaib zaidi hello, let me explain to you. the reason why walkmans have 2mp because its just walkmans. its really built for music, not for camera. if they put a 3mp on a walkman, who will buy a cybershot like k800i, or k810i? everybody will go for the walkman 3mp. so you see its business strategy, and to survive with your business you have to spread your assets in all of your products. if they make a walkman with 3mp, it will not produce them any better. yes its good for that phone because everybody will love it, but how about your other products?? nobody will buy a cybershot because there is already a walkman-cybershot...the business will go down. thats why SE made a cybershot brand for camera lovers, and walkman brands for music lovers. and i agree with SE, no problem with me. you just have to think wisely for the customer and buisness, you just cant let your company go down just to please the customers. thats not the way to run a business, you have to think of both sides. you want a good camera? then buy a cybershot. you want a good music? then buy a walkman. just as simple as that.

I agree with you AGC. What a like about SE is that, all their phones have almost the same design. It reminds me of cars. Take Mercedes Benz for example. I also like the fact that SE produces affordabale phones that look expensive (it looks and feels better than in pictures). The W660 have some downside but I bet many people would enjoy using it because SE always make reliable phones. The size of SE phones are also small.

Ok two comments which I hope you read because I have owned almost every SE phone you see here in GSM's pages. 1) If you continue to compare each of SE's phones to eachother, you are simply confirming your ignorance as a consumer. You think that SE's engineers' job is to just come up with the "best" design and the "best" features all the time? Do you know anything about market strategies? They could have EASILY put your precious autofocus and flash in this phone, upgraded the screen, and done numerous other things. Why don't they? THEY DON'T WANT TO!!! Maybe some of you do, and you're probably the ones that respect what SE has to offer. I think that Sony are doing exceptionally well with their handsets. All the other manufacturers don't even compare to the spec and reliability that Sony are currently producing. In my opinion, Sony are the new force in mobile phones. With respect to the previous comment about the handsets being released are lower spec than the w900i, what about lower tier users? Have you no brains? They are a company and MUSTcater to all walks of life. Get a job and stop moaning. Well done Sony-Ericsson.
