The phone specks are good but some things previus phones had are missing,such as fm radio ,the camera needs a better quality and precision on recording videos or photos,the 5 sec super slow motion is to little time for simple user to catch and dificult to achive if you have only one try for recording,the zoom feature on phones are not so good they need improvement,if they use sd835 or something better you should ad more memory ram and storage on phone ,64gb are not enough ,128gb internal is needed,the screen also has to be visible on sunlight such as samsung s8 visibility and not like xperia z5 visibility,these are my thoughts for better user experiese for sony phones

If Sony wants that bezel-less design everyone wants, they need to move the logo to the top of the phone to squeeze more screen space. I'm glad they're moving to the 5.7 inch screen. Front facing speakers is a must. 64GB internal is still too low, 128GB. I disagree with 19-megapixel rear sensor, I think 23 is a good marketing number, though I know 19 is enough and capable of laser focus and can do all the slow-mo and everything. I need gyroscope, sometimes they take it off. 4K like the Premium series and I'm into the higher 120Hz refresh rate like the Razer Phone (gaming phone) does. Hello, Brava TVs and Playstation; it's easy for them to do 120Hz screens.

i was a big fan of Sony and the waterproof thing... unfortunately im done with waterproof features it will just make ur phone overheat due to very tight seal...and the dedicated camera button but i realize what the hell who gives a sht about camera button anymore? its just another button to repair Incase it fails...im currently using asus zoom zx551mL and upgrading to asus zenfone 4 pro...s8 is good but i really not into Samsung phones... And yes look at Xiaomi their sales are better and better every year and the price is lower and lower. We had Xiaomi Note 4 for like 180 eur and now we have Xiaomi Note 5A for like 125 eur. Man about screen you were right because screen in past era were horrible but 4k is really useless. Man reason high battery consumption, other main reason Full HD and 4K have no difference for naked eye. And apart 4K display cost much more to produce it offers nothing extra just an bigger battery consumption. Anyway what next? 8K screen or 16K on a 5 inch display? You know i asume you are a very clever person it will have no use and FULL HD is more than enough. Instead of spending money for research into the batteries which should be long time ago companies coninue to waste money on researching new and better screens where for a basic human is no difference. They continue research on Iris scanner where Hashtag app could secure your phone more that having Iris scanner with slight chance to being unlocked by any other person. In present ERA from 1A chargers we have an option to buy 5A chargers but thats the limit not many batteries in phones are build for a 5A chargers. Instead of producing screen which will never breaks even after fall n concrete they make curved screen which apart from being very slippery and resistant to put glass protector on it have no practical use. VR is nice tech on a big screen not 5 inch. There it have no practical use and using VR on 5 inch screens makes your eyes blind very soon. Its definitely not healthy. J7 and Meizu will probably not last me 4 years or more due to their average performance. I prefer phones with extra performance under the hood, so that the phone can keep up with latest games and apps even after 3 years. Xiaomi I've already tried so not at all interested in Xiaomi device for now and also Xiaomi phone's a pretty common sight in India. Was originally planning to get Huawei P9 and I tried to get it from Flipkart on Big Billion Day flash sale at 15k INR, but that sale was over in a flash...lol. Then I thought about Honor 8 pro but that also never got the same discounted price as on Big Billion Day and now Honor V10 release is upon us, will wait and see how the review and price goes. Maybe I'll buy honor 8 pro if the price goes even lower after the release of V10 in India.

I recommend you cheap chinese, another xiaomi phone with latest miui, it brings many features n improvement, meizu phone or zte phone. You will find it fun and easy to use, its like everything is already there for you. I am currently using sammy J7+ and meizu m5 note. Both are beautiful full metal unibody phone. What can i say is j7+ is quality phone, ofcourse it isnt the best or super powerful. It excels in all features it has, its good for vlogging n live. I love the trendy dual camera with its live focus features. Also AOD and Always on fingerprint sensor, the best thing is bixby. M5N is more beautiful phone, feature rich beautiful and fun ui, i love their signature home button and clean front. Best UI, its like everything is there and works perfectly. I am a bit worry about its quality, but its 8 months of using and no problem, so far i am highly satisfied.

You are not ready for them but sticking with old SP is poor choice, buying chinese phone is best choice for you. Hope this help. There are three kind of chinese phone, the popular chinese and cheap chinese and rarely heard chinese. Huawei, oppo, vivo are popular one, they are on top 5 smartphone vendor, their phone are pricey. Xiaomi, meizu, zte is cheap chinese, they have skills, they can make quality phone if they want but they opted to make cheap phone.

Err... looks like I made an error there writing OS instead of ROM. But I definitely did not meant GUI alone. As UI only means the skin of the phone, but I wanted to include the bloatware in it hence ROM, but somehow I wrote OS....lol I planned to use Mi3 for 3 years but that got stolen so I had to fall back on my other phone Xperia SP, I didnt't bought new one as I am currently saving for a PC and maybe PS4 Pro as well. Wow this conversation is turning into a lengthy essays now..lol, I'll try to keep this concise so we can bring this conversation to an end soon.. At first glance it may look like majority of population can't afford high end phone, but if you'll look at Samsung and Apple sales figure and unit sold you'll notice its actually the opposite. Samsung and Apple keeps on increasing the price of their phone every year and yet every year more or at least similar amount of units are sold. All the features like water-proofing, 4k screen, DAC, 120Hz screen may look like unnecessary add on to you, but I see them as a sneak-peak into the future. For example: 15 years ago we use to use phones with 1.5 inch screen 128 X 128 pixel resolution phone and now 5" 1080p is a common thing. So if we apply that logic here 4k screen is actually the future and mobile manufacturer will have to begin using these tech at some point so why not now?, VR will benefit from 4K a lot. Now, what I understand from some of your previous comments is that you believe that Sony phones or the likes of it doesn't last long enough to justify its price (I may be wrong though). But all the phones I've been using since 2002 never once failed on me. Bought Samsung Wave in 2010 for almost $400 and it still works though at the beginning of 6th year it developed the random reboot issue. Used Xiaomi Mi3 for 1.5 years before it got stolen, and currently I am using Sony Xperia SP 3.5 year old bought in 2014 hangs like there's no tomorrow but its due to it only having dual core processor though it still works and get the job done. So all I can say is since expensive Sony phone failed on you multiple times, you now don't find any confidence in expensive phones from big brands. I on the other hand never experienced anything of that sort, so I can continue to have faith on big brands phones to last me a good 4-5 years.

(not even their codenames like previously for 2017's Gxxxx : Yoshino, BlancBright, Pikachu, etc.). We have to wait for few months until we heard the name from leaks and sources. Do i need to remind you all the codes of Sony phones since the announcement of Xperia Z? But in present era like 80% of global population maybe more cant afford 600 eur phones everything cost more and more every year where sallary improves just by a very little i can say from here in Slovakia my country in heart of Europe. Here people at average have 500 eur per month from which like 70% goes on living and other bills rest is for food clothes etc. To the all rest you said it was interesting to read and i thank you for your research and time you did to check everything but as always ( water-proofing, Superior DAC, Stereo Speakers, Cooper heat pipe, 4K video recording with EIS or OIS, Optical Zoom, 4k screen, 120hz panel and what not ) I honestly can say Waterproofing is just a stupid add on which cost lot of money where if people are niot very clumsy will never need this feature anyway a water resistant cover from alliexpress for 2-5 eur do the same tricks for much less money. Superior DAC is another money hungry feature which 90% of global population never oproperly use. Most of the phones in present era have stereo speakers in case of Lenovo or Motorola phones Dolby Atmos is included. Cooper heat pipe is great and not many phones have it. My Lenovo Vibeshot also dont have this and i am heavy gamer and after more than 2 years the phone is excelent as it was when i bought it first time. Only i had to replace battery which is typical for me due to heavy gaming. 4k video recording sounds great but for a half price of a phone you can have camera which do much better. Anyway on a 5 inch screen a 4k resolution is useful as having laser sight on a slinger. Despite 4k recording will drain your flagship 3000 mAh battery in 30 mins from 100% to 0%. And trust me but naked eye will not see any difference unless you have same eye sight quality as eagles or so. Most of the phones in present era have EIS or OIS and almost any even a chinese ones have an optical image stabilization. And Razer phone is yet the only one with 120 HZ panel. As typical from other companies no sae money on research or why to research something which other companies use over a long time period. Its called shared technology. Like apple took wireless charging from Samsing Ip rating as well superamoled screens instead of retina display (typical for apple research of retina display cost too much and yet Iphone X cost 1300 eur despite of many shared tech where Apple saved a lot of money on research) 4k recording from Sony etc. As we know Z5 premium from Sony vere first mobile with 4k display and recording and as we know from its review at 4k resolution its battery drained in 20 mins when phone was used and in 40 mins when stands still. From then lot of things were improved but not enough to consume much less battery. But what i am really trying to say most of these so called flagship features have no use because you either cant see the difference or the price is so high its useless to have it. Like for example gorrila glass 5 on phone. When your phone drops on concrete you can have a gorrilaglass 10 or 100 it will breaks. Phone with no gorrila glass at all but with a screen protector hardeness 10H or Panzer glass for 2-5 eur will be much cheaper and much durable display than phone with just gorrilaglass 5. All or most features are just an beautiful illusion which sounds nice to have but can be covered for much less price. Hope i said eough. Now try to judge me for my honest comments.

I also like how they didn't remove the 3.5mm jack, proves just how silly it is when people say OEMs removed the jack because of the large bezel-less screen. I'll ignore certain topic like first phone or about Motorola as I don't any meaning in continuing it any further. Even though Apple, Samsung or Sony make their phones in China doesn't mean they have the same quality as Chinese brands. They have their own testing methods and quality standards. Its not like if Foxconn is making Xiaomi, Apple and Samsung phones in China they all will be of same quality. So the point that all phones are made in China and people shouldn't differentiate between Chinese brand vs Other global brands are invalid. Information collection: I am not situated in USA so I can't comment on that. And I never said I am against data collection, all I said they should either notify the user about the type of data collection or ask for their consent. Camera Quality : Lenovo Vibe shot maybe able to take decent shots but I don't see how it can compete with the likes of Galaxy S6 or other flagship of that year, that phone just doesn't have the hardware to be as good as S6. No EIS or OIS, aperture is F2.2 and SD 615 has DSP v50 compared to SD 810's V56 DSP so with all this I doubt vibe shot can take low light shots or even daylight shots as good as older top tier flagship phones. You say people who use Chinese phone don't complain about camera quality? Well,they probably don't complain because they know what they are getting and it would be unreasonable to ask for image quality like Tier 1 flagship phones that cost twice as much. Design: I only mentioned Apple because many Oppo phones including the most popular Chinese phone OnePlus 5/5T looks similar to Apple phone from behind. I don't like Apple design language so I naturally will not like the Chinese phones who copy Apple. 4k recording, water/dust proofing and AMOLED all are important and must have feature on phones, so I don't see why they should not be used by other brands; but when it comes to designing the phone it should not be copied blatantly IMO. It doesn't cost much to design a phone and even after that if Chinese brand will copy without any shame then I can't help but to hate it. I looked all the phones you've mentioned Redmi 4X (which I believe you mean Redmi Note 4X), Oukitel, Doogee. I liked Doogee's design and even Oukitel looks better than many phones including some flagship phones. But that's it! I don't find any other reason to buy those phones while I have many reason to not buy those phones. Like: Oukitel's thickness and ineffcient Mediatek SOC that too low grade with older Nougat version and I can't get it serviced if it broke. Not to mention can't have smooth gaming experience. Doogee Mix 2 again no serviceability in my country has inefficient Mediatek but still a decent SOC and no LED notification a big deal breaker for me and bad sounding speaker also I doubt it support the 4G band of my country. I won't call this phone a worthy competitor to even a 2 year old flagship phone but its definitely worth more than $200 its asking price. All in all most Chinese phone are worth the price they ask but nothing more than that. They price there phone low by cutting corners here and there. HTC got boom sound pretty good camera and fast OS. Xperia get updated very fast and has efficient and extremely fast OS, dual speakers, most of the Samsung phone comes with AMOLED screen,best camera in the market and what not. Most flagships nowadays comes with cooper heat pipe which is needed for gaming. All of these are missing from the phone you've mentioned. In the end you get what you pay be it a Chinese brand, Korean brand or American. $300 Chinese brand phone will get the work done and can be more than enough for most users but can't really give you all the features of a $600 flagship phones ( water-proofing, Superior DAC, Stereo Speakers, Cooper heat pipe, 4K video recording with EIS or OIS, Optical Zoom, 4k screen, 120hz panel and what not ) and even if they have some of the features they will not be of the same quality.

Man i dont. Had Sony phone for 2 and half year past times and cost me 500 eur. From a 500 eur U8i vivaz i was expecting a lot but phone failed and failed 20 times i had to sent to to repairs over 2 years when i can claims my guarantee my GF got same phone on Xmas and her phone went 7 times on repairs over a 2 years of period. From then Sony brand fall deep in my eyes. Now have Lenovo Vibeshot almost from release date for over 2 years it never failed never went to reopairs and only i had to replace was battery because i am heavy gamer. Despite that phone looks like brand new because i care of my phone. My GF got Lenovo X3 on Xmas i bought day it has been first time on sale in my country. And still works as a brand new phone. So i can highly doubt times when so called top brands were really top. I am selling cell phones and accesories in my country for many years and honestly i can say chinese phone for half price are equally good as 2-3 times more expensive flagships you would say. I can assume or understand that you will not trust me but i know what i am saying and i can prove that. About phone looking why you mentoided apple? Did you know they took 4k recording from Sony? Or Amoled screen from Samsung? IP67-68 also from Samsung etc. Iphone werent first to make a wirelles charger. They copied as much as its not healthy for this brand. Most of the ophones are unique on their own. Design its not everything. Xiaomi 4x is a good example for less than 200 eur you can have a really excellent device for a reasonable price. And thats not only xiaomi. Oukitel K10000 pro or Oukitel K10000 max are also another phones i would select over Samsung for example because for 210 or 240 eur depends on model you have a phone worth every penny (check them and be surprised) despite is so much china that it doesnt exist even on this site. Cubot or Doogee are simillar examples of a brand. To last set of words you said you are right present phones are unique on their own but they all come from Dynatac. But with much mre features than phones had 40 years ago.

Maybe but their era is gone. Now as always they sell higly expensive devices at lacks of quantity. Samsung does the same but in high quantity and poor quality. In past times Sony was great then they unveiled Playstation and so. But in present era its just a very expensive competitor who loosing customers due to lot of chinese brands where they cant cope with their price and almost same quality. For example xiaomi bitten like 1/3 of full cake where full cake is all customers worldvide which bought phone over a 1 year period. You saying that because you never had any other phone. Man past times had U8i vivaz which was best phone on the market from Sony. Paid 1000 eur for 2 phones one for me one for my girlfriend as Xmas present. You know what? After 2 weeks it went to repair touch screen frozen. After next month same issue again. Over 2 years as lasted my guarantee phone went to repair almost 20 times with same issue. And they 3 times gave me new device. When my guarantee ended phone was forking next 3 months then frozen for good. Thats to your Sony phones. My GF had same problem but her phone went for repairs 7 times in 2 years and once she got a new device. From then i forgot there is Sony company. Even though you maybe able to buy 2 chinese brand phone for a price of one tier 1 flagship phone (though I doubt that) and it maybe last you a bit longer but you'll never get the same user experience as those from the tier 1 brands like Sony (though I admit OnePlus has pretty good OS implementation). Chinese brand either don't update phone regularly and it they do they are pretty much only on older Android versions. Also I've heard some chinese brand collect info from your phone for enriching user experience and sends to some server in china or other country . Though their is a option to stop data collection, situated deep in settings menu; I don't like how they keep it enabled out of the box and without users consent (OnePlus I am looking at you). Then there comes the camera department where pretty much all of chinese brand lag except maybe Huawei. But then again Mate 10's almost cost as much as tier 1 brand phone, so why bother with chinese brand ?. Also when I buy Android phone I would prefer my phone does not look like iPhones from behind ( OnePlus and Oppo I am looking at you ). Some brand do make their original design, but at the same time they are expensive so why bother or them instead of top brands ?. Lastly, today's phone are not the replica of Motorola's first phone "Dynatac 8000x". That thing weigh over 0.5kg and today's phone weigh less, far exceed in features so there is no way that today's phones are replica. All they have in common is the fact that they both can communicate through audio wirelessly.

If you've used the xz1 ul know for a fact that the battery life is on par with most mobiles with 3500mah Optimization is the key. But Sony can definitely squeeze in a Lil extra juice. Don't hav any complaints with the xz1 douh.

Thats your opinion. Having Lenovo Vibeshot almost from release date which was top model from Lenovo at his time when he came on the market. Its still perfectly working for over 2 years and its a great phone which cost me 400 now you can get brand new for 220 eur. So all you said its just stupid. Hmm. Not good. 5.7 inch is not enough I believe. Why? Rivals have phones with bigger screen. Battery capacity is not big enough too. I am not bashing Sony, but I believe they should come up with a great feature if they want more profit. They should make dual camera phones already and add optical zoom, or they should make a shatterproof device, or add both of the features. If they will not change their view, they will sink. Now, newer companies are growing stronger than Sony. This is kinda sad. I would like to see Sony to come up with something great. This is coming from a Sony user by the way.
