Some people are getting camera prob.(blur image) for them:- just download the software "repair my phone" from official xperia website, when its done open it and it will give you option's for repair. During last two years, I'd sent xperia ion to service center three times. The phone suddenly dead without reason. They said something wrong about battery or board. This happened over and over. The funny thing is it took a month or two on service center until fixed. After that the phone is dead again having same symptoms. And again..and again.

Xperia Ion cannot be said just AMAZING or BAD in one shot! I used this phone for 2years 3 months.... and the only reason I was forced to let it go is because of his unfortunate RAM,, with available ram of 600+mb you can't do much!!! i m using this phone since 1 year and i have faces problem and solution - 1.Battery -- battery sometimes shows 1% directly after 20% or 14%, so i dont get proper use of battery Solution -- of this problem i found is that if u have installed any battery management app just delete it and reset phone if required 2.Camera - sometimes in the auto mode the focus is not proper mostly in indoor Solution -- change the mode to normal and see the difference in quality and for daylight auto is perfect 3.Power off suddenly and dont switch on with power key Solution-- dont get nervous and keep the phone for 5 or 6 minutes after that press the power and volume up+down keys simultaneously, mobile will tun on. 4.Volume up dont working -- volume up is not working but down key is working solution -- just restart it and it will be solved 5. Hi friends. I am using this fone last more than one year. When I purchased it then it come with ICS version after some day I upgrade this and there is no problem with it. Initially it get hanged but slowly this problem get of. Today it working good but sometime it get slow. OTG cable worked well here but you have to search for it as I do. Camera, video all are working good. But maximum users are suffering from this and same with battery too. I have little problem with its battery backup, needs twice charging in 12-14 hrs

I ever had same problem with camera; I came to Sony Centre shop and they told me to change the lens (of course at my own cost). I did not agree; coming back home I used the cotton bud with alcohol to wipe the camera glass and it has become excellent!

Clean your outside lense with a cleaning Liquid or something. I had the same trouble before. eventhough the lense look clear it might having some kind of layer or something sticked which make the picture quality bad. my camera is totally ok after i done this method. Just give it a try. :)

There is a problem with this phone that from 20% - 30% the power drops to 1% then it shuts down. Not a battery issue and not a software issue. I replaced the battery, same problem. I did a repair device thru Sony PC suite, the same thing

Hi Elyas, maybe you should try to enter manually your service provider settings for 3G Network. I had that problem on my Xperia Z. Just enter it manually or try to Download it using Internet Service App (Settings>More>Internet Settings)

Hey, don't be worried too much, this is a common problem but some systematic approach may help you. Your problem is actually a software related problem and this problem will be solved if repair your software via pc companion. You may visit the Sony support forum also.

one more thing, xperia ion have some strange film/coating on lens cover, and it is hard to clean it, my photos were blurry but then i cleaned it up with glass cleaner, but you really have to make an effort here, just be careful not to break it

please read this! Xperia ion is great phone, all problems with battery or camera are software related, and most of them are because of last android update. there is solution! connect your phone to computer and install pc companion from sony. first BACKUP ALL DATA and then click on repair option. Repair option will completely delete android and install it fresh again, so all data will be lost, that why you do a backup before. another option for battery problems is to recalibrate battery, try a few apps on play store.

Dear try to rub wet silk febric on the lense with pressure. Ur cam will be as it was earlier but remember always keep cover of lense with lemination or anything tht will take care of ur lense nd whnevr u want shoot pics take it out. Thats the only way I found to my Ion.

I have the same,but now I am ashamed to tell that it has 12MP camera, bcos it does not even has 5MP clarity, I tried with 9M,5M all resolutions, but the picture clarity is not upto the expectation. Hello Sony, I'm from sri lanka.I have xperia ion LT28h. I am facing problem of auto shutdown (even in safe mode). Sometimes the screen dims down and shuts down. Sometimes while surfing internet (90% battery), suddenly the battery goes low(1%) and shuts down. If put to charge then it shows the initial charge that was showing during surfing (90%). i got an update yesterday on my xperia ion,but the serial no and android versin remained same at 6.2.B.0.211 and 4.1.2.Had to use computer to carry out the update,was worth it.Phone felt snappier afterwards especially during photo saving on a camera click.The contacts app and sms app and even the homescreen scrolling is faster now.Congrats sony mobile,that's all i could say.

I've been an ardent fan of Sony's mobile phones for last four years however, with the kind of issues I have been facing over the past one year with ion aka lt28h, I've alreafy begun looking at other brands. It sucks after upgrading it to Jellybean 4.1; it has a bug that doesn't efficiently allow editing texts, overlapping the next line when you press enter. Battery drains by seconds, thereby compelling it to be connected to the charging port continuously when on standby mode. Reboots on its own quite often. Has only 680mhz RAM contrary to the 1GB that the manufacturers claim. Seriously, guys, think twice before buying this particular model at least.

After update to jb, phone always hangs when using mobile data and need reboot so i went back to ics. Sent a message to sony but no reply. I had x8, before. Updates and bug fix to sony phones are slow and their support to their phones only lasts for 18 months. My friend's s2 still got an official update from samsung and that model was released las 2011. I will never buy sony phones again.

good info for all those guys who have got camera problems in their ions ie their cameras r producing blurry images.I was thinking it to be a software issue but actually it is not so.there is a coating on camera glass on external side which is normally not visible to normal eye and the scratching of the same causes images to look blurry.even the scratches r not normally visible..but I finally found an easy way to remove the same.... just took a little bid of Collins(glass cleaner) and apply it to the camera lens with some cotton and apply a little bid force while rubbing the glass,u will see the coating coming off and lens getting clearer.keeping rubbing untill it gets clear...now click the image and see the difference and don't forget to thank me...

Bro,if u plan to buy a phone i can give u some help by my experience,sony cell phones r v good in use with fast 3g,2g signals,internet speed and camera but as the time passes they start to give problems in hanging,freezing and battery backup get worse. As the same matter to htc but htc gives lot more lesser problem in hanging or freezing but battery get worse by the period of time. samsung has improved much in all scenarios but still need to cover battery backup bcos after 6 to 8 months battery power is started more consumption in samsung sets whether u change new battery. nokia is best in reliability and built with good body n chips along with battery back up.only worst part they have not adopted android.if they did so they would remain the leader in cell phone market.

the sad thing after upgrading to jb are the bugs. your camera is blurry,, hd recording lags and shifting of your phone's signal from H to H+ sometimes hangs the phone and needs restart.

My ion had simmilar problem, it was scratched fine coating or cover on lense and I removed it by soft alufolium like one on kinder egs. Be careful not sure if it's with your phone same problem check. And if so try carefuly not to press to much and brake lens! Good luck.

Hi, you can update your phone manually by using flashtool. I have also did it. Go to www.xperiadownload.cz then manage an account /sign up (free) and sign in. After that go to download then download flashtool & and Xperia Ion's driver (.ftf file). After all install flashtool in your computer and copy the driver in Local disk(c)/Flashtool/firmware/(here) {there will be another one driver. No problem delete that and past your driver}.From there Open driver folder and open driver. It will show a new window, go down and mark last 2 option press ok. Then you will be shown a new option click continue anyway and install. After that open flashtool and click flash button, select flash mood, then ok. In the new window just click ok. Then remove memory & switch off phone and press and hold volume( - ) button and connect phone to computer. Then it will be automatically flashed. For more information search on Google "How to update Xperia Ion to 4.1(jelly bean) by flashtool".

Update JB yesterday, sharing experience, Firstly its better if you format the phone once after the update. It will remove all the lag in the UI. Use the backup app and save data on SD card. You will have the same app to restore installed after format too :) 1. Faster UI 2. New animations on the message app etc 3. Just connect your phone to pc. Use pc companion for repair ur phone. Go to update, there u select 'Repair'. You must have broadband internet connection. It will repair and install latest firmware to your phone.

Dude,watch your camera lens closer,u will see some scratches and the coating on the lens is getting off.I was exactly facing the same problem 3 months before.So i went the service center and they replaced the inner panel which holds the lens.The quality backs to normal as they were before.But the problem is back again.So i am taking my phone again to the service center the day after tomorrow .Of course my phone is under warranty.Back there in the service center one guy told me that he was facing the same problem again and again and forced to sell his phone.Don't worry if your phone is under warranty then it will get replaced.I wish i have helped you.

Hi, I bought a red Ion around 3 months ago. It has developed a camera problem recently. It doesn't focus clearly and shoots blurred images. Took it to the authorized service centre and was told this model was prone to having the lens on the rear panel scratched. A replacement costing Rs. 1500 was advised. copy ur frimware to frimware folder in ur flashtool instalation folder... insert ur usb in pc an keep.. dnt connect fone then open flashtool, click on flashmode then ok.... then ul see ur frimware click on ur frimware n click flash.. now ul get a msg sayn connect ur phone.. hold ur down volume key n connect ur phone to da usb... den wait for till the process is over... n ur done... note: if u get usb driver error, theres a folder in flashtool instalation folder call (drivers) install as administrator, an ul get option to select drivers tick all the boxes... then just off your phone.. an connect via usb... some drivers will be installd... once done... restart ur pc... n do the flashing steps..

if you liked Sony mdr-220lp, then you must like xb30ex. you should go for it. it will give result with neo v. I won't suggest you to buy skullcandy because of their durability and lasting. Sony is always better than these brands.

if you are going for skullcandy, Philips and jbl, I would say go for Sony then :-D. I mean, listen, I haven't heard the sound of these earphones. so I can't tell the sound quality of these earphones. but I can tell you one thing, Sony's xb30ex should be lot better than these earphones. its isn't bad, its just I liked my creative ep 630 more than Sony one. otherwise xb30ex is also good earphones. if you are a fan of bass and like to hear thumping bass, then you can go for xb30ex. and one more thing I would like to suggest you that, do some research on internet. :-)

I have them. I bought them last week only. I bought them for Rs.1999/- and believe me taking into consideration that price, sound quality isn't that great. I personally am not happy with it. My creative ep - 630 was the best earphones. I had bought them in 2009 for Rs. 1250/-. they got damaged in January. then i bought senheiser's cx 180. but they also damaged in last week. so I bought this Sony xb30ex earphones. creative ep - 630 is still available in market for Rs. 850. I would suggest you to buy. creative one. value for money product.

I Think I Made The Greatest Mistake By PURCHASING SONY Xperia ION MOBILE. I bought Xperia ION mobile on 21st Feb'13 and facing the problem with it from the very next day. It doesn't show Incoming Call Alert after 6-7 calls if you are dialing any number from your side. Not ringing issue after 6-7 calls. I have to restart/reset the phone to temporarily fix the issue. I brought the mobile 3 times to Service Center. I have submitted my mobile again on 9th May'13 on Noida Based Sony Xperia Authorized Service Center, Job Id-W113050900069 But till now my mobile has not been repaired nor the motherboard of the phone has been replaced and still it is in Service Center. Service Center Techie says they need more time. If anybody want to keep his/her mobile in Service Center then just purchase it....

The ion heats when you use the net. This is due to the flash player constantly running in the background. If you can, you can download the Dolphin Browser from the Play Store. It has an option to turn of flash player or turn it on only when it is recquired. This reduces the heating problem to an acceptable level. Trust me, you will benefit a lot from using Dolphin. I am not saying that chrome is bad, its just that it heats up the phone.

I have an ion and faced the same problem with the battery. I fixed this issue by disabling a lot of useless built-in apps. Just go to settlings>Apps>All. Disabling apps like talkback, Google maps, all Timescape related apps ( check your updates manually. Saved me about 15% more battery), Google talk (if you dont use it), Twitter extension if available and voice search. I will advice you to uninstall any taskiller or battery saver you have installed from the play store. These kill more battery and slow your system down, rather than speeding it up. I did all these and my phone skyrocketed! Very pleased with the performance now :) I get around 7.5 hrs using net (with Dolphin Browser). Leaving the phone idle I got through 4 days, with texting and calling only. If you need more help about optimizing ion, you can email me at [email protected].

Im a Samsung Grand user. All I can say is that your priorities do matter. lets compare SGG and Xperia ion: 1)display: ion wins but SGG isnt bad either, believe me its as good as any other phone despite such low ppi 2) dual sim: SGG obviously- u can use one for data and the other for routine use, which i find very helpful 3) battery: both should be same in my opinion- my SGG lasts just one day (btw Im a heavy user) 4) no heating issues with my SGG whatsoever, even while charging or playing games like six guns 5)camera- ion of course, 12mp sony cam should be way way better than 8mp SGG 6)memory: Ion wins coz its got a 13gb user available memory thats way ahead of 4gb from SGG. If you are a gamer then go for the ones with memory over 10gb, coz im repenting with my 4gb that is no where enough 7)Android- SGG is uploaded with the latest Jellybean and Im not sure whether its same for Ion. Im new to android. 8) Im just loving the music player and headset of my SGG. The headset quality is really good. Its on par with my Senheiser Adidas headset. I havent tested Ion. So its up to you to decide what you need, both have their own pros and cons. Also consider LG Nexus $ if you can afford 4000 more. its a great phone.

Overall, it's 7. big minus is wifi too weak (my Ipod touch 4 connects to wifi with 2/3 strength levels and Ion even cant see wifi), wifi drops about 20min frequently when using, madly with these. 2nd thing is the buttons are not sensitive, even difficult, mush press really hard or with the right finger/angle, really annoying in some cases. -0.5 for the screen display, sometimes it's blinking. another -0.5 for sony's software.

Hi guys ive been using this phone for 2 months now and all i can say is that i love this phone.. First the style and finish is just amazing., i can always proudly bring it out of my pocket and show it off to iPhone or samsung users., its beautiful. Secondly the screen clarity and brightness is very good. Can stand toe to toe with other high end phones,. Third and mostly is that its psp certified., and the sony select games available for free download is amazing., Nfs shift., dead space., real racing.? It's like having a psp and phone in one,. The Cons that other users are complaining are undeniable., battery issues and unresponsive bottom keys., but are easily dealt with., regarding it's battery, during my first month of use., i can hardly make it last for 12 hours despite the battery saving measures i do (low brightness, data off, screen time out minimum, etc) normal usage with gaming., but after installing a battery saver app,. My battery life increased dramatically by about 6 hours., now i can make it last 18-20 hours even with increased brightness., the only thing is that the battery saver didn't improved battery life when you play games., and about the unresponsive bottom keys., you just do a swiping motion upwards, instead of a press, then it works., camera is of average quality for a high end phone., but works better than note 2 or iPhone's or s3 in some instances like good lighting conditions., too much noise in dark scenes., overall, this phone is at par with htc one x or any samsung phone except note 2 or s3(due to their intuitiveness) i hope this helped you guys in deciding whether to buy this or not.,

But I was very disappointed that it consumed so much battery power when using 3G that I can't enjoy web browsing. I need to charge the phone almost twice a day..I was even more disappointed that my colleague used iPhone 4 but almost the same web applications running, but she really enjoyed her web browsing without worrying about battery. I am using this phone from 3 months, till date it never happened that it hanged and i needed to remove the battery (as other phones), but there is one function which may be many ppl are not knowing that you can't reinsert the battery in case of hanged phone, but you can just remove the sim card and insert again to restart the phone. and 1 more thing.. you can accessorize your xperia ion with a smartdock wherein you can connect it to tv and connect controllers if you want to play playstation games for example and so much more.. while acro S doesnt have a smartdock in the market.. and in the philippines, acro S is fastly getting cheaper and cheaper. while ion remains the same, meaning acro S is being shadowed out by the latest and more expensive xperia phones such as xperia V ,and soon Z, and other water,dust, shock resistant fones...:)

hi.. i asked the same question few days ago.. and i chose to buy xperia ion hspa over acro S... it really depends on your daily living actually.. if u have an active lifestyle or a travel buddy.. go for acro s cos you can take pictures underwater and etc.. but if you are just a homebuddy or if u want to look very professional with your phone, choose xperia ion rather... and the battery performance is better than that of the acro s... and also the photos from the camera of the ion is slightly more vivid than that of acro S.. and one thing is that the size of ion is very big deal to me since i am a big guy i want my fone to be in proportion with me..hehe although its just a little larger and wider than acro S... speaker and display definitely better than samsung S3. The cons, home screen touch button is not sensitive as samsung. The charging port is covered by a small cap. Everytime when you charge battery, you need to remove it, it may end up damage the small cap, without the small cap the phone look ugly.

i have bought xperia ion last week. so far, the phone was superb. the battery life quite okay. my phone can stay about 2 days without surfing and gaming... but if you connect to the wifi, it can hold almost 10 hours.. it's good enough for me. the video and image quality are superb. thx to Bravia engine. the sound for the music is nice. it has xLOUD to enhance the loudness of internal speaker. the 12mp camera was awesome. so far, i love my xperia ion. I had the same problem before 20-25 days..the problem is with the lens protector, it your warranty is left, give it to service center and they will change it free of charge.

hey everyone....after read all the opinion....i bought this phone, just 3 days use it. From all previous comment, there are 3 cons but many more pros about this Xperia ion. First, about the battery life, after use it.....i can said it just average like the other touchscreen phone in the market, at least not below average. Sony provide power management in software seting. So you can utilise it. Second, some comment on the quality of picture taken. I can said it give good quality in bright condition n a little bit below average in low light condition. Lastly, about the sound from speaker some comment very soft....but sony have xLoud technology in software setting, n it give loud music from this phone. So i dont have problem to hear clear music or ringtone. All i can said, based on the price of this phone it is awesome smartphone from sony. Really awesome, do not compare it to the other very high end like galaxy s3 or one X. That high end phone, mybe you can compare to the other xperia version like Xperia T etc. So, for me it is very good smartphone, very sharp display in full hd, and unique design from others touchscreen smartpgone in the market. Awesome Xperia ion. :-)

Phone is awesome. I just cannot help myself checking it from time to time. Battery back up is not bad. Just some brains are required to manage it. If you connect to the internet only when required and disconnect when done battery will be surely going all the way till 16-17 hrs daily. Internet speed is good via Wi-fi. Cam is good VDO is awesome.

You should better go for Note 2, you can't use ION instead of a tablet, screen size is not that enough. ...and yes it gets hot while playing heavy games and using 3g data, and if you use any other charger than the original one came in box then also it will start getting hot. whatever..I love my ION and its super HOT :)

Guys I bought xperia ion just 1 week back it is superb in all features but only thumbs that disappoint me are its battery backup and heating problem. Battary will get completely out when we use internet continues for morethan 3 hours. And the phone gets heat very fast.

I bought this phone in October. I was using a Samsung Galaxy S2, and the iPhone 4 before that. The first thing that awe me was the screen. It thrash the Samsung GS2's and iPhone 4's. Simply big and bright. Absolutely brilliant! Words can't describe it. Colleagues and friends were impressed. The 12 MP camera blew my mind away when I first used it. Then came reality after a few days. The battery is a major source of frustration. A fully charged battery will delete itself in half a day. I usually unplug my phone at 7 am just before going to work from home. By 12 pm like now, its left with 34%. All I did from morning till now are, checked email and deleted 3 emails, surf the web for 10 minutes. All my apps were ported over from my SG2. And my SG2 with the same usage can last till I get home at night. So the possibility of a rogue app is out. Further investigation reveal that the phone is constantly looking for new updates, and that google services takes up 80% of the battery drain during inactivity. Surprisingly the screen drains very little battery. Oh, and the next biggest problem is the camera... it now feels laggy. Somehow it just cant focus fast enough. Focus hunt is very frequent. And the lag is becoming a major concern. A third party camera app is advised and can snap in a fraction of the time the original camera software can. Camera noise is also very high and pronounce for even outdoor photos. I gave the phone 5 stars out of 5 in the beginning. Now I would have given it just 2 stars because you can't use it without having the fear of draining the battery. It has come to a point of being paranoid. The hardware is impressive but the software turns it into a POS. This phone doesn't come cheap and I can't sell it without losing much as its resale value is appalling!! I'm contemplating to flash a custom ROM onto it, and maybe it will be better.

Mine came with ICS 4.0.4 out of the box and my airtel 3G speed was about 20 to 30kb/sec, very annoying. Then I updated firmware to (6.1.E.2.68) but the problem persisted. So yesterday, using flashtool, I downgraded my OS to Gingerbread 2.3.7, Firmware (6.0.F.0.111) and that solved my problem. I guess I'm stuck with Gingerbread until Jellybean is released.

If you are talking about speaker's volume and quality, more or less its the same as S, and the same applies to sound through headset (for Sony Phones, sound through headset will always be good, if you are not liking it, just change to better headset)

You should be confused between SL & ION, I used S and then upgraded to ION, and i think ION is better than S, screen, camera, speed everything. SL is advanced version of S with more power and may be some fixes. As per me, simple things are, ION over SL - Bigger and better screen, memory card support SL Over ION - A little faster processor (on paper) and illumination strip.

Sony Xperia Ion has the best camera I have ever seen in the range of new available smart phones (I did a comparison with photos taken thru these phones). 12 MP is very much effective in daylight and night ambiance, but u have to learn to adjust settings (ISO and EV level) accordingly. Its a nice phone . . . worth thing from Sony's expertise. Bravia engine and sound clarity are very unique in quality. only problem is u cant keep phone in full brightness, as it wud drain battery in short time. . .

About the same not that big noticeable difrrent. Diffrent only in hardwaer Ion has a 4.55" screen with 323ppi and better colours reproduction with BRAIVA enginee and sdcard plus the 16 gig internal plus better camera than xperia sl! I know both has the same camera but Ion a bit better than xperia sl try myself . actually didn't played with xperia sl but I own xperia s and I think S and SL the same phone but SL it's S with over clocked processor. Both are great phones my opinion Ion it's better. :)

Hi, i am using this mobile (Ion).Its nice phone,comparing to soap box (Samsung S3). Once u started using Sony phone u cant look for other phones.If u love music and love to take memorable shots just buy Sony. I suppose to buy HTC One X,but it has some battery issues.Not much difference between DUAL CORE or QUAD CORE. Note that, If u r using more than 100 apps at a time,then only performance will be little differ. So, I feel my phone is better. I feel QUAD CORE phones need more battery even in stand-by. with out large battery,I don't think of it to buy QUAD CORE phone.

I am using this handset since from more than 1 month. I would say this mobi is awesome and superb in smart phone. Please don't compare this phone with anyone, bcoz this prove its value. The only 1 problem with handset is, it gets hot at rear side after some hours of use. For others, don't update fake info about this handset.

1)Make sure you have subscribed to a 3G plan 2)Make sure you are using the correct APN(for 3g it may be differant from 2G gprs) 3)Try another phone with the same SIM and same APN 4)Make sure you have selected GSM& UMTS/WCDMA mode or WCDMA mode only

im a long time Sony(Ericsson) user nd ive used Xperia Sola,Xperia S nd when I was about to get the Accro S this Xperia Ion really attracted me with his design nd specs...So far this is still the best Sony they have nd im not changing it till they come with a quad core chipset,Xperia is full of good specs compared to the other one,its just like a bigger version of Xperia S.

My current build number is 6.1.E.1.20 and today as i connected to pc, its showing me an update :) This is second update after ICS, will post feedback soon.

Hi i am from chennai recently bought xperia ion. My Airtel 3g speed in xperia ion is max 60kb ...! but Signal reception & voice call is very well, getting full 3G signal. Also 2g net working fine. and I Checked with Aircel 3G and it is working very well (Speed getting 7 mb/s Anybody facing the same issue?Kindly help me... (Airtel CC don't know the reason:( )

I just wondering, why Sony put Xperia S as their flagship (before Xperia T and V) and not ion. ion is difinitely better, solid build, bigger display. I really like this phone actually, but that slow processor is really not in line with the rest of the hardware

If ur phone's internal memory Is near to its full capacity then most probably dis happens i.e the touch button issues comes into account.If u have enough phone memory den u won't face des touch issues.
