Like it quite a lot, the battery life could be better. Only worked out the second sim slot did NOT work after warrenty was over. Otherwise it is a great phone.

This is the worst phone I had ever purchased. Battery failure, heating problem, just LTE no VOLTE. When you go to the service center they asked you to change its parts and demands huge sum of money. Worst experience with Sony ever and not recommend anyone to go for Sony products.

I bought this in July 2015. Almost 3 years now and the phone is dying on me. Abnormal shutdowns when the battery hits 25-30%. Extreme heating while browsing the internet. I have stopped playing couple of weeks ago, the only game I had installed on my phone for the past 1 year - FIFA Mobile. Battery life - the less said the better. The battery won't charge properly since last couple of weeks. The phone is not bad at all. It ran beautifully for the initial 1 & half year but then it was all downhill from there. Went to do underwater photography once in 2016. My friends made full use of the water proofing of this phone that day. Have been a Sony fan, but I couldn't convince myself to upgrade to another Sony phone. I was waiting for a good midrange device as I didn't want to splash 30k+ INR on a device which I will be using moderately (The average usage for Social Media - FB, IG, WA; few calls, couple of YT videos, few songs, and an hour of gaming). The Nokia 7+ came around. Felt it was a bit overpriced. Luckily I got a 15% discount coupon from Nokia + 5% cashback effectively making it 21k INR for the 7+. And for that price I think it is a steal. Waiting for the 7+ to be delivered today!

It's swollen and the heat is very high, where all of a sudden, it started updating all the applications last night. Is there any remedy to fix this problem? Or Changing the phone is the only option?

Bought this model 2 years ago, 8GB internal is horrible as apps will automatically upgrade and eat up lot of space. The battery swollen a little bit and it's like applying salt on wounds, and finally this device easily built up heat like a heater.

I updated 2 app two days ago, Clean master & 360 security. after that, the network of one of SIM (with GSM network) disable. I changed LTE & GSM between two SIMs. again, the SIM with GSM network disable. I think one of those app, change setting of network to disable all GSM networks. How can I solve this problem?

DO NOT BUY AVOID I have 2 of these E2333 At 1 year, the same week the following happened to the phones: Phone 1. The Ram module died making the phone unusable. Blue Screen of death. Phone 2. The CPU and Motherboard have dislodged from heat and the phone can only be started by holding tight just near the nfc logo at back. Please save yourself the trouble and do not buy Sony at all.

More than 2 years using, absolutely no problem with it. In my opinion, still one of the best smartphones in the market. The only thing i don´t like is it's only 8gb memory. My note 1 to 10, i give it 9, no doubt.

Purchased in Feb 2016 now facing restarting issue even after giving adequate care. Sony centre says there is mother board issue and it costs Rs.8000/- for changing. Regreting for buying Sony & for putting Rs.18000/- . Now in reviews on various sites i learnt that this is common on this set and other sony phones. I also faced heating issue from starting. Guys you have to be consistent when commenting. I have been using this phone more than 1.5 years. It has some pros and cons. Here is my experience: Browsing ability is very good. Battery life is ood cover plastic doesn't get easily scratched The phone doesn't lag, runs smooth. Underwater performance is OK (no leaking underwater and you can take some nice pictures) I can play asphalt 8 and dream league Picture and video quality is low (not good) Heats very quick Charging problem don't push screen hard when playing games. It can leave spots with colored diffusion. and the most important : It has stopped working recently. doesn't restart, wi fi, bluetooth, front camera is not working. I took to get repaired but didn't help. I am thinking returning to samsung again. my sasmung that I used before sony still works ))

well only thing i can tell you to try is to fix your phone over the Xperia Companion program, if that doesn't work then, as i mentioned earlier is the MM 6.0 that caused the problem, and then returning back to 5.0 might wont fix the problem, that's why i choose'd to stay on 5.0, Sony have had troubles with their hardware i bet, so often M4 Aqua has died from MM 6.0. at least 3 phones that my friends had them once, they all are dead now after updating to 6.0, is Sony fault after all not the android itself.. but that's it

you should chose the version with 16 GB of memory, the 8 GB version of these phones it's more faulty than those with the 16 GB why ? i have no clue. I have friends who owned the 8 GB version, everyone's phone got dead some for less than a year even, thankfully mine is still alive and is brilliant, nothing like overheating problems or other, also you had to check the background processes, there's a lot, maybe some of them was causing the overheating problems

have been using it like 1year+++ and it finally k.o last week. The front camera was such a pain bcuz it doesnt have setting for the mirror effect/not so your picture will turned out weird. The rear camera, i have never been able to use it since long time ago cuz it always crashed (cant even open the rear camera tho). As im someone who is learning korean language, havin no choice to write in korean with xperia keyboard is also such a pain cuz eventho i installed app with korean language, i cant use it bcuz the phone have no does not support the language in other app. And lately (before it truly dead) it have the overheating problem where i have to keep it in the fridge or wrapped it with dump towel to cool it down. The storage too, as everyone knows (i used the 8gb) 4gb is for the system applications with lots of app that you dont even knows when to use it or is it something you need for your phone, i have to always clear the caches to make space for it to keep operating. It doesnt have lagging problem and thank god for that one good thing.

that bug appears only if one going to Marshmallow 6.0 android update.. otherwise if one choose to stay on 5.0 Lollipop, everything going to be fine (as i said in the comments little bit down, i'm using this phone pretty heavy since November 2015) and is just awesome, tho i don't get why Sony did not replaced the faulty components or the motherboard for free.. that's bad from their side.. but that's it, glad i learned before i decided to move to MM.. so after all the posts i read, i decided to stay on Lollipop and be happy with my phone more time :)

Hi everyone! M4 aqua is one of the best low budget smartphones in the market right now..but i don't recommend anyone to buy it because it has this 883 Mb ram issue which makes the device crash constantly with a blue screen. And you have to replace all hardware components in the motherboard to solve this issue which is very costly. Sony "support" is not very supportive after all. From a very sad former sony m4 user!!

I dont know why people are having problems in thia phone. My M4 aqua dual works smooth n fine. And also please dont upgrade it to Marshmallow because that operating system is too heavy to handle for the motherboard which is employed in this phone. The major drawback is DUAL LTE. You can only use LTE SIM in SLOT1 and can only use the data traffic but not calling. If you want to do both then put your sim in SLOT2 then only you can call and use 4g Internet. GSM sim can't be used in slot1. So i think this is one of the biggest drawback of this phone. Else performance wise its superb.

I purchased this phone Xperia M4 Aqual Dual in 2015 June, and had a worst experience with it. It started giving problems within 4 months of purchasing. The vibration and proximity were not working from the day one. The Sony service center accepted this & have to change the mother board, so you can imagine to what extent the issue was inside the motherboard.Luckily it was on the warrantee period so I was not charged but I am very much disappointed as its costed about 24K and so never expected this. Moreover after using it now for 1.5 months I again saw lots of issues like heating (specially when connected to Navigation apps like google map),low speaker sound,showing message battery not charging when connected to Sony Car Charger fitted in my Car,battery drains fast,call does not connect in first time etc etc. This time when I visited the Sony service center they say its likely that water has gone inside the phone that's why I am facing these problems.Its very surprising for me to hear that, because then what is the use of being a water proof mobile,assuming if the phone is exposed to any water by any chance,which is actually not true at all. And this time as its out of warrenty so the sony peoples are charging 14,500 Rs for repairing it. Crazy !! I am now thinking of hammering this phone as its troubled me a lot. All false tag lines like "water proof". I do not recommend anyone to buy this mobile as its a total waste of money.

When battery is low, even on charge cable plugged in it can show you startup screen for minute (yeah theres enough energy for that) then take some android upgrade even if upgrades are available in wifi only but you dont have a wifi and then turn off. I have been a lifelong fan of Sony but after my experience with this phone, I have lost faith with this brand. Firstly, the phone I received was defective and the call mic wasn't working so they replaced my phone with a new one within a week. After 3 months, the 3.5 mm jack stopped working and again I had to get it repaired which took almost a month as they had to source parts for it. After a few months again I always faced software issues and had to software repair/factory reset every alternate month for it work fine. Finally, after more than a year, the phone started restarting on its own and wouldn't get repaired anymore. The phone heats up extensively and starts lagging after a couple of months. I hope after reading this review others will not spend their hard earned money and waste it on such an appalling device. Sony isn't the same like Sony Ericson anymore. Rather try out a new brand henceforth.

It's really not the phone to buy, I had my phone in for repair before the 3 month mark, I've since then had it in for repair 4 times, got a replacement (same phone), not even a month gone and it's faulty again, all software mainly to do with storage, and emails not sending, apps that throw you out back to home screen, dont do it.

I have upgraded my phone to 6.0.1 marshmellow about 2 weeks back and it is working perfectly. I love the features. When I used the Lolipop it usedto by Struck but now no issue working like iPhone even. Lovely upgrade. But small issue is battery drain. I usually used for 2 days but now only 1 and 1/2 days can be used.

I currently have the Sony m4 dual 16 gb variant so far only minor problems are seen especially opening apps for the first time. it works fine however the overheating issue is eminently there EVER and camera button is quite slow. Maybe having 16 gb is better than 8 gb if you want to ask the overall performance of this phone after using it for two months. Where do I start? Recently took out a contract for M4 Aqua, after 9 months the phone started slowing down, then became non-responsive, then just completely died. Took it to my service provide and they couldn't fix it. Took it to a trusted external party, was told that the phone cannot be repaired. I thought nothing of it, when time came for my wife to upgrade her contract I recommended the Sony M5. After 5 months the phone seems to be showing the same symptoms as the M4 Aqua. It has not died yet, but it seems well on it's way. Suffice to say, I will never ever again purchase a Sony phone. I thought this was a reputable company and brand. In the past years they always have been associated with quality and a certain standard and panache. I am terribly disappointed with Sony and will advise all my family and friends and all who will listen, that, Sony is among the worst RUBBISH out there. I WOULD SERIOUSLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO BUY SONY! Their standard has dropped hugely! I have been a Sony client for close to 15 years now. These new phones they have out at the moment confirms, that a giant has fallen.

The waterproof phone is not actually waterproof. I got drenched in rain while the phone was in my pocket. when i reached home water was all inside the screen and speakers. Sd card slot and sim slot were closed in max possible way. the screen is black now. Service center said sim slot is not properly closed so warranty void. its funny to be cheated in such an awesome manner. sony phones not worth the price.

I recently upgraded my Xperia M4 Aqua Dual to Android 6.0.1 with Xperia Companion I have to say, a lot of things are improved. We all know that this phone heats a lot, with Android 6 that's controlled with some system app called Overheating control. Overall phone speed is improved. Camera app has changed (it's much better now). The best thing for 8 GB model, with Android 6, you can use your SD card to transfer apps. One more advice for the screen: if your screen gets crazy when your hands are sweating, you can fix that with screen protector glass. Buy one at ebay for 1$

Marshmallow is available for all the versions of M4 aqua both the dual and single sim variants. Though its unavailable as a OTA update, rather update via Xperia Companion app. The update Size is about 1.5-1.6 GB but believe me its worth it. The response timing has improved, the camera quality has also improved, still it struggles during the low light performance. Battery lasts longer and drains slowly but stock charger sucks. Its better to update it also antutu jumps to about 37.5k to 38.5k heating problem is still there because of the chipset. All the 4th gen chipsets of Qualcomm sucks and are a heater. Believe me sony has done a fabulous job.

I bought this 'wonderful' mobile 6 months back. Due to my running and cycling activity, I sweat a lot and so this was best option being 'water proof'. It worked well during all my activities. It used to get hot and I washed it under tap for 2-3 times to my curiosity and no problems. About 20 days back, I went for cycling and got caught in monsoon showers, rest of my cyclist friends covered their mobiles in protective wraps but i kept mobile in pocket and cycled for half an hour in rain. As soon as, I reached home and took out my mobile, it was dead and didn't start again. I took it to Sony service center and when I mentioned this mobile is 'water proof', I was told it is not water proof but ' water resistant'. The phone was kept for 10 days at Sony service centre, Wave mall sector, 18 Noida and returned to me without any repair. To my shock,I was told to take it to some local repair shop. Hard earned money wasted without any repair....feels really bad.

Hi all, I've bought this phone one year ago, and today I go to swimming pool and making a movie to my little child I've submeged my phone about 10cm underwater for 2/3 seconds and the phone died. I can see water in the camera lens. I hope I can obtain repair under warranty. This was my first serious smartphone and was quite satisfied with it, regardles I bought it for the camera shutter button and the camera itself was not such a great camera, the one of my wife 100€ Nokia take better pictures in terms of colours / resolution. the marshmallow update can only be had through Xperia Companion software on your desktop so first download the Xperia companion exe file from sony's website ( support ) then connect your phone to the PC through a usb cable and it will show an update is available, now start downloading the software about 1.5 gb, when it is over a next button will appear near the bottom follow instructions do not remove the phone and it will install the latest update and will ask you to remove the phone annd restart thats all very easy to do

Updated my Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual, Model: E2363 to Marshmallow in India via Xperia Companion .. After updating the phone has become fast than before..no lags and good touch response.The external speaker volume have become loud enough..But there is some small Bugs which will be fixed later by Sony later.OTG not tested.. The Xperia UI is pretty cool now.Battery backup is good now..After update Camera's auto focus is working pretty well!!Now we can lock the phone by just double tapping the Homescreeen instead of pressing the Lock button....Overall fully impressed with the Marshmallow System Software... Truly amazing Sony..Keep it up Sony!!..I recommend everyone to update Phone as soon as possible...

I bought it 8 months ago.till now it has hanged just once and twice I had earphone jack problem but solved within 2 days by service center. Water resistant works well in rain or swimming pool and if water enters speaker it is removed by hairdryer. Till now really great just Little battery and heating problem.

Battery problem and internal memory is filled by Sony-apps (they are locked and can not be removed or moved to external memory) and there is no enough storage for necessary apps. Even It has a big external memory but it needs 20-30 % internal memory for updating which is not available. It has stupid design!

Im having the same problems with mine and i put under water to test it and some component's dont seem to want too work like the speakers ,all so I would like to add it makes difficult to answer incoming calls when it shows up on the top screen , the screen doesnt turn all the time when you switch it off , the updates are crap there certain games that freeze and don't work with this phone , the screen defiantly has dead spots . Wouldnt recommend my worsted enemy use this phone first and last time I will ever go sony.

Do not purchase M4 AQUA ever. i regret. it has a list of problems. and sony customer care support is worst. (i visited sony support center @ gomtinagar. executive there were really unmannered rascals) i have purchased it in january 2016. it has started showing problems from the next day. the phone has following problems: 1. heating issues (means it gets extremely heated) 2. battery gets drained out within 3 hours ( i must tell u that i have taken all measures like switching off nfc, wifi, BT, sync, internet , uninstalling facebook and other battery hungry apps and switching on power saver mode) 3. automatically gets switched off and on 4. hangs alot 5. charging problem ( it usually gets automatically off withing 3 hours and when u plug it with its charger it do not response 20-30 mins. and then shows 1% 6. charging time. (it takes 5-6 hours if u switch off phone and then charge. if u try to charge it while switched on , then it would take around 8-10 hours. conclusion : do not waste your precious money for this crap. go for samsung J7. trust me... J7 has best in class camera and super battery life. and yes... it never hangs. after M4 AQUA now i am using j7 only.

I have xperia m4 aqua phone is not working properly every time it heats and u can't talk on the phone. Then recently I had a problem with phone. Speaker and Mike is not working then I go to service center told them the problem.they said we will solve the problem don't worry. Then after 4, 5,days I get SMS and said work is done so I go to service center and take the phone they now phone is working properly. Then I go home I thought now it is working but when I see the phone it was switch off then I put the phone on charging but phone was not charging and phone was heating automatically.Then I saw the back panel it was changed. There no dents on my first back panel but after servicing there are to many scratches and dents on phone next day I again I get to service center and said phone is dead not working and my back panel is changed they said that we will check. Then after 8 days they give me the phone and said motherboard is replace. But when again I checked the phone back panel was not replaced I said to the concern person that my back panel was changed this is not my panel he said they chaneed back panel but I know it was not mine then again I said the scratches and dents was there I told him he said let me check and get inside and clean the panel and gave me. He make me fool I know. This how company cheating with customers. How can we trust to them what are they doing it is very very sadful to me I bought this expensive phone and I trust Sony brand but with my expereince I will think 100 times about Sony products buy or not to buy and also whose buying Sony please think about it twice.

Feedback after using for 3 months : PROS : - Design - Decent Screen - Call Quality CONS : - Battery Life (With just the WIFI on, it goes from 100% to 0% overnight, with Zero Screen on time - biggest battery drain is from "Cell Idle" in the Battery Statistics - probably a software problem, waiting to see if it improves after Marshmallow update) - Camera (My earlier Moto G2 clicked better pictures. Macro shots just don't work properly and the colours are also muted) - Speaker Sound is very low for Music Playback - Heating (Forget about heating during Games or Charging, it even heats up on its own in your pocket to the extent that it becomes uncomfortable) - Water Resistance (Your mic and speakers will be unusable for 1-2 hrs if it gets wet, and when i say wet the phone just had a splash of water, didnt even dip it in water) - OS Lag (Becomes quite laggy and unresponsive most of the times - i dont play any games by the way) My suggestion - instead of going for this phone, go for a 2 yr old flagship like an LG G2 (used it for a month before buying this one), which is way better in performance and in every other aspect except for the water resistance, than this one.

for now i have few games.. i can't complain at all to be honest.. also from other side, i haven't tried some hardcore game.. wt i play is candy crush saga.. re-volt.. cradle of empires.. rise of atlantis etc. and for the back glass, i'm using it without that tempered glass for like 6 months now, i just use one for the display.. and the back doesn't have even one single scratch on it, it's very high quality made, not sure if is scratch proof or not, i might ask that in Sony official forum for more info.. but be sure that the back is very very awesome, the material they used it's very quality

pretty sure can be battery fault.. i'm owning it 6 months now.. and i can say the battery life is awesome.. with daily using not that moderate took from 100% to 0% for 3 days.. heavy using a day with facebook.. surfing on web etc. And if you had bad battery or battery fault.. don't blame whole phone.. that's like to buy new car and to have problems with the battery in the car.. instead to replace the battery.. you're throwing whole car just for it.. took it to the service for they to test the battery.. at least im sure you have warranty, if it's faulty they gonna replace it for free.. geez >.<

Don't bother with this phone. Took many hours recharge to 100%, only to have the battery drain to 75% in 2 hours of the phone being off of the charger. I've had this phone for less than a week but I'm exchanging it for hopefully something much better today. It's a shame because it was an aesthetically pleasing phone with a good camera. The quick battery drain was/is unacceptable.

I own a xperia m4 aqua and an iphone 6s. The xperia is quite ok. But the update policy from sony especially for the m4 is very bad. I wait so long for the new Android Marshmallow. But hey - nearly all android phones don't get updated by some time. The flash of 8 GB is not that nice - nearly all memory used for system and preinstalled apps. And if you care about security and turn on device encryption the system is really slow. And security in a phone that doesn't get updates? No way... I'm happy with the iphone. Very fast, secure and updates are no problem. I also like the apps. A lot of high quality apps. Ok, you wan't a cheaper phone. I can recommed the new iphone se. It's a lot cheaper than the 6s (only a little more than the 5s) and you get current technology. But don't buy the 16 GB version. You can't plug in a sd card.

Very good phone. No have to complain about it but it is getting very hot sometimes on mobile data and while it´s getting hot, it´s very difficult to charge it. Charging getting very very slower when it´s hot. Have to restart it and plug the charger to charge it normally. Otherwise it is a so good cellphone.

Utterly disappointed and sorry I left Samsung for this. It is slow, poor response times. The internal is tiny and from the day and hour I got it i have been told it is 85% full, despite also having a 32gb memory card and transferring everything possible. The android system and what data the phone insists on holding rather than being able to transfer, takes up the entire memory capacity. I find much of the pre installed stuff useless but can't get rid of it. I have no room to update anything. When I restart the phone says updating...... EVERY TIME!. It takes almost 7 mins to restart. The camera responds poorly and is clumsy to use. I miss Samsung built in apps and can't find anything as useful on this phone. I've to stick this for 2years now. Avoid the m4 at all cost

I love my M4 Aqua Dual. While it does get a little hot when talking and the battery life was not good in the first week until I sorted out stamina mode. For a waterproof, 4g, great camera phone under AUD$300, I think it is amazing. My previous Xperia LT25i lasted 3 years, it this last half as long I'll be a very happy man!

All models of sony is having problem I have used experia dual and Sony M4 Aqua dual . Sony mobiles are not good M4 Aqua - heating issue and while talking gets hanged and cannot hear the call just a wastage of money. Chinese phones like MI, Micromax and gionee is far better than sony.

Hi! My mind is blowing because of positive and negative comments. I want to buy this phone the Dual Sim Model (E2363) that I saw in an online shop. I don't know what to do. The sp 615 is a fail, 6.0 wouldn't solve the problem. Even when I play casual games it still laggy drop frame about 19-20fps, try to search a Google and type "why snapdragon 615 lag".

All the snapdragon processors are heating like hell. Plus, it is a waterproof mobile. Which in turn reduces the amount of heat dissipation. All the mobiles which contains snapdragon processors, heats up. Tats the reason for heating. And for slow focusing, I guess the camera hardware is fantastic, but it is the software which has poor performance. Let's hope the marshmallow update will solve the issues.

I also got that issue bcoz of heating. Contact service centre for fixing it without any gap, as it is a water resistant model. Make sure that it still has waterproof capacity. Otherwise water will get inside. Al d best

6 months since i bought it.. none of those problems are listed.. it gets warm.. but that's usual.. And if it gets overheat as you says.. isn't Sony fault.. blame the Snapdragon inside.. everyone who blame Sony for overheating they have to learn that.. Sony doesn't produce the GPU... CPU.. etc. things.. as example my sister is using S5 Galaxy.. and that one gets warm and hot when hard playing games.. and that's normal.. typically haters on these websites for cell phones

your app lock is not working bcoz of sony tight security in there mobiles so to activate you applock first download an app lock from playstore and then go to settings in settings go to security in security go to apps with usage acess and then activate applock then it will start working and the other problems you are mentioned are not in my phone my phone is completely working excellent

Buying this phone was the worst decision i've taken so far...though it gives a good first impression..once you start using it..you'll realize how useless this phone actually is. After a while the microphone stops working and makes it extremely difficult to talk over the phone.I gave my phone for service ..they fixed the problem but then after a few weeks it stopped working again. This has a very bad heating problem..you'll realize this if you play a lot of games on this phone or use any other apps like skype...etc.. the battery does'nt last very long and takes a lot of time to charge it. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

Don't purchase it. I bought it 3 months before. Out of 3 months company keep my phone for 22 days for solving overheating and microphone issue. After that i use it for only one day & again the same problem occurs. So handset is just complete waste of money & again company provides you service like you never expect from such a brand name.

I would suggest you to go with Samsung galaxy A5(old version).But never choose A5 2016 version,go for it if you want a brilliant design otherwise it's not a value for money device.M4 aqua suffers from several software bugs and i'm saying it from my own experience.It's my opinion,but final decision is yours.

It's actually a software bug as automatic brightness was set to "off".I'm 100% sure about this and all the problems i stated earlier are true.Some people mayn't be facing those problems as they may have different software versions(builds).But i'm not able to update my phone.There are defenitely some pros about this phone but i'm facing some odd problems i just don't know why it so for me.

I have had an M4 for over 8 months, after the 4Th month I replaced it for another M4 because I thought the phone was the issue. No update ever changed the issues. 4 months with first M4 had less problems ad I do with this one. in fact, it just gets worse, Sony does not show any interest in addressing these M4 issues. My advice, abandon ship!!

Overheats after watching 1 video, 10 minutes of Web browsing and the occasional "just felt like it for no reason".Nfc is non existing on my phone, the symbol is available in my shortcuts but in the menu it's "blank" OS crashes every few days obliging me to back up everyday! Wallpaper disappears after a day or two........ The list goes on and on. It is most certainly the worst Sony product I have ever owned.

well no, you have a option, to force stop or to stop the application doing background processes find it in options > Developer options > Background process limit you can choose from Standard limit then 1 process 2, 3 and 4 processes at most. Or 2nd option is to choose Don't keep activities is just over this option

I'm using Sony Xperia M4 Aqua 2363 for more than 6 months.After usage of this phone for these many months my experience is as follows.Software bugs haunts this phone to a great extent.First of all,the phone definetely overheats after some simple tasks such as restrating phone,using Camera,viewing videos and photoes etc... Some other software bugs include: ringtone doesn't come up at random times.Needs restarting the phone to make the phone ring again.This is very annoying. Default in-call volume is very low so i increased the volume but, it returned to default volume after a few days automatically. Once brightness level also reduced to 50% from 100% automatically. Call quality of some calls are definetely poor whereas some are really good.This might be a problem with my cellular service provider. Software lags at some situations.Whenever i browse through some options in the settings,i felt some lags. Thank God,I never experienced automatic restrating problem with this phone so far. Camera quality is average and faces minor issues here and there. Album app was crashing randomly but i disabled that app and installed a third party app called "Quickpic".Now no any problems. Sometimes the phone fails to detect the SIM card after a restart but it can be rectified after restarting the phone again. These are some of the bugs mainly software bugs that affects this phone and it definetely has a bad impact on myself.Sometimes i became so sad due to the problems with this phone.Since these are software bugs they can be easily rectified by another software update(Marshmallow update).But i have no means to update this phone as high speed and stable internet connection isn't available in our area. I think this post might be useful for everyone who is looking forward to buy this phone.Thanks to reading this post.

Hi, I bought this on jan 19 for 16000. As many of them has said it has heating issue but you can cool it with in fraction of seconds when you dip in water as it is water resistance. so far batter has good capability 2 days if usual usage purpose even you listen songs. Assurance for battery is good. Ear phones provided by sony is not worth, now a days most of company's doesn't provide good earphones. Good thing is light weight you can easily and it is handy. Camera for this is not much better but good with HD pics. I bought this for good camera,light weight and the most water proof capability.Over all its good. Thanks, Siva

from manila, philippines my xperia m4 is 4mos old. recently, without touching anything, it says sd card has been removed. most of the apps have been transferred to the sd card since memory is always full. result? can't use the phone except for texts and calls; no internet (fb, etc.). if you restart or turn power off, it normalizes for a few minutes, then it goes back to the problem. never seen a phone this expensive but very low quality. this is the same case with my friend who just had his unit (a C4, 6mos old) repaired. same problem . advice to potential buyers: check other brands. think 10x before getting an xperia.

Have this phone for a few months now and in general its great phone for that price. I mainly use phone for calls, messages and internet not heavy gaming or such things. Sometimes it heats up, yeah...And so? Its never been a problem. Only huge drawback is its internal memory, which is always full even if you store your data on SD card. It gets full already of android and Sony apps which you can`t uninstall, so you get that full memory message very often. But in the end my grade is still 8/10 if you use it as a phone not gaming machine or computer ;)

Had this phone for two months now,and its working just fine,it has a good camera,nice screen and battery life is ok(battery life still depends on the user and on how many apps installed/working on the background,,,its sleek though the bezels are a bit annoying but its not a deal breaker for me,the os which is 5.0 is ok though 5.1 from my m2 aqua is more smoother,patiently waiting for the marshmallow update,the speaker is loud,u wont miss any notification,problem is its heating,it really gets hot while on gaming,and using data/wifi and doing multi tasking(data on while taking photos/online gaming(coc lol) so its still under users control regarding on its heating prob,,,,inspite of the pros i still like it it still meet my smartphone needs

Wind would not honour they're warranty as I tried to replace the phone the second week I had it And Sony will not replace it either. It doesn't lag at all.. touch screen is very much smooth & the battery backup is pretty well enough.. & also the cameras are pretty well in daylight.. in low light, camera apps support much.. its because of the lot of apps running in the background, try using an app called shutapp it closes all apps in background which frees ram, saves battery and reduces heat ...my phone only gets a bit warm now

No. 8gb version is complete waste of money. If you want to update the Phone, you need remove all the apps, pics, etc To get enough room for update. 1,5gb of 8gb is usable for your aps and even with sd card installing bigger apps is impossible. So absolutely no, do not buy this. Taking it back to store tomorrow for second time for repair.

I agree 100% with your comment. I have had mine for over a month now and going strong. Its by no means a perfect phone, but it is doing what i want......for now. There are lots of negative reviews, its scary. Maybe i got lucky with mine, time will tell. Guess if you make it past the 2 month mark without issue, you are home free. The only thing that really bothers me is SAR rating on pull out card. It is in Chinese and says 2.0 W/Kg. It is higher than and different from info on Sony website for same model.

Pretty great phone for price range of 16-18. Works good, smooth and no hanging problems at all! Don't know about people complaining with hanging problems. Have been using it for 1 month now. Back camera is great gets great pics, And night pics are pretty good too except a little blurry during night but does get bright pics in even low light! but would recommend using secondary camera app such as google camera if you want good touch focus for Macro photography. Front camera is bit weak for a 5Mp camera But gets decent pics if you don't wanna go for "zoom in to details" in image. Battery was running off fast in early days but surprisingly it started working normally within few days(Maybe some app was eating much)! Now i charge battery over night and start using it from morning 9am, With 1 hour gaming+ chatting+ few camera clicks+ 4+hours of music and misc activity during day till night and battery ends up at 10-5% at 12-1am (sometimes less) on single full charge. Gaming and Apps have no issue whatsoever. Have been playing Asphalt 8 for 2 weeks runs good lags a bit at times but not always..rarely! Though Phone do get heated up during heavy gaming since its snapdragon(Moto have same issue too)! Will recommend keeping the sim card port open to let the heat go off while playing games. :P light games causes no heating. Only Draw back that actually bothered me was the Saturation of color. Blue is a bit off in this screen, other colors are ok, however there's an option for white balance which does reduce the yellow tint and bring the blue out. Plenty of space in 16gb version, Decent ram and No lags or hangs in phone usage! Now for the Real thing about the Name of phone. Yes its totally waterproof tested and passed from my side :D. Though one plus X is a competitive phone in this price range..But for now i am totally happy with this :)

Waterproof, amazing performance and great sound quality. 13mpx camera is a bit disappointing but it's fine (i like steady shoot), 5mpx camera is awesome. if you think that 8 GB internal memory is problem, well it's not since you're able to uninstall a lot of pre-installed apps and move some of those you install to SD card, and Android 6 will be released for this device, so no worry about that. Heating problem: it does heat a little but works perfect. Don't worry about that. It looks nice, no lagging at all.

3 months in, and I haven't encounter any problems at all. Camera's good, smooth gaming experience, no lag whatsoever. The only setback is my model (E2312) offers 8Gb internal storage, quite frustrating as I couldn't install so many video games. Now I finaly found solution for this problem: You cannot disable auto reject call button from appearing in an incoming call but dont worry at all dude there is a way of locking an incoming call. You need to only install a small application named as "tiny call confirm" from google play store. Its size is also very small and it will never consume your battery. Your incoming call will be displayed on your phone as shown in the following picture, you need to drag the lock button towards the right and then also drag your normal green button towards right side.. So two times you have to drag to answer a call. This will solve your problem.

I have Sony Aqua M4 for less than 3 months and endless problems. First the SD slot was problematic, send for repairs. Came back after 10 days now the phone over heating switching off on its own. Cannot believe this, thought that Sony suppose to be top of the range, sadly I was mistaken. Now I have to send it another 10 days for repairs. Certainly will not recommend this phone after also chatting to others that are experiencing similar problems. Sony ...really disappointing :(

I used htc desire 820s before, its a good phone tho, it is slim also, and its 5'5inch screen is beautiful, and the boomsound speaker is also great, camera is hood alos it has 8pm frontcam, but the battery is not good, it drains really fast, thats why i sell it, its simple brother if u want a big phone go for 820s, for elegant design and water resistant go for m4 aqua, its your call brother,. :)

I was ok with heating as now a days many of the phone have heating problem but it heats even if mobile data is kept on...again after few days i observed that it cannot catch the wifi signals properly and it has to struggle for getting the signals..even my lumia has better wifi strength.. Camera app is getting crashed saying operation failed...and sony claims that this is waterproof but its just kind of marketing strategy.when i dipped it in water and the speaker is giving distortion sound till now...it also gets mic problem as when on call on other side is not able to hear clearly.. I just brought my m4 aqua dualsim 16gb a couple of days, it heats when i first open it and using it while charging,. While observing it in a couple of days to see if theres any factory defect i didnt encounter heating issues anymore, the comment here of heating is so exaggerated and over reacting,. Any smartphone heats, even samsung and htc heats also,. This phone is sleek and it run smoothly and its stunning design is captivating,. Maybe the only thing i can object is the frontcam, its a little bit dark in indoors and low light, but all in all its a good phone for its price i never encountered any lags,. So to the future buyers of this phone dont hesitate to buy it, enjoy your phone and ignore those bad and exaggerated comments below, im not trying to be sonyfan boy here folks, its just my honest opinion from a real m4 user,. The already small 8gb of storage is so taken up with pre installed apps that despite deleting all this I could,and even the supplied sample pics and videos in Album, that even with just Facebook and Twitter downloaded it didn't even have the room to install it's own updates to the apps you don't need! Furthermore, Sony refused to help or even admit there is a problem despite many reviews like this one being freely available. Avoid like the plague.

I purchased 2 phones (dual SIM 16 Gb) (wife and myself) 2 weeks ago and so far we are both very happy with them. We have made some pictures in different light conditions and the result has been good, not perfect, but good for using them in Facebook. We have not suffered so far any of the problems described. We are not heavy user, but if you check your Facebook several times per day, answer Whatsapp messages, read news paper, etc, you get 2 days of out the battery, which is good. I also found the GPS to work really good and fix the position quick. Overall, I would recommend the phone.

I've used this phone over a month now and have also updated all the updates that are provided, but this issue hasn't occurred yet. Did you buy at Sony's dealer or at some random shop. If the problem occurs you should visit Sony service center at your place. There may be some fault on your phone, Sony will surely try to solve this.

India has got 16 GB version while in most of the parts of Europe and some parts of Asia there is 8 GB version available. Probably, you can buy/see from internet whether they have 16 GB available or not. If M4 aqua 8 GB gets Marshmallow update, the storage tension will be over (btw, M4 will get Android M).

sony pleaseee fix thiss, heating issue and charging time takes too long about 3hrs++ to full charge. bought this phone 1 month+ ago but got a new replacement set because i got a faulty phone before. pleasee fix the heating issue and charging time. mine is the 8gb rom version. sony xperia please take notefor your customers. would appreciate it so much if sony dorst fix this. thank youuuu!!

I don't think Sony have said that battery lasts for 2 days for this phone. They said for Z series especially Z5.

not lugging for any reason great screen not overheating when in use with wifi overheating after use with data for 2 hours or gps+data for 1 hour it is waterproof. baterry lasts for 1 day at the most (normal use)not 2 as they say... for its price 200 euro in greece its vfm

I am using xperia m4 aqua...this doesnt have over heating problem after update....it heats only while using camera and playing games like coc...i am very happy with this phone.The design of this phone is awesome..looks like xperia z series phones.This phone lags due to lollipop 5.0 which is the worst operating system...i bet this problem will be solved after marshmallow update..I recommend this phone...Thanks Sony...

This is really a great phone. Especially when looking price wise. If you are on a budget and this phone is in your price range you really wont be disappointed with it. There are a few Cons to the phone and the main one is being that there is only 8gb internal storage. Luclkily marshmellow is comming out and it solves this issue. In Marshmellow you can format external storage as internal storage therefore using it to increase meomory. Otherwise its an all round great phone. Sony should look into the overheating problem and then also the camera could preform a little better. Otherwise I love it

I won't suggest this phone for heavy gamers like you since it gets hot and also that 8 GB internal storage is not enough. I would suggest Z series or M5 for that.

Dont ever try to buy this phone..im also a gamer and this phone is a trash..when i use wifi or data its heating up. The battery just take about 2hours and its already drained. And the camera is not good as u think. If u use it at night its not good.and the capture timr is very slow. If u move while capturing its blur.
