I bought mine in 2014 and it has been one of the best and most reliable devices I have owned. It is still working fine, although i need it less due to the way the tech environment is evolving. But still fabulous, convenient when traveling (great battery lifetime) Two weaknesses, the audio port, easy to lever force on the jack and dismount the internal connection. As the tablet is sealed, you are trounced. But in my case I was able to apply pressure and luckily it went back into place and I never used the audio jack since then. Same with the SIM card slot. Very fragile arrangement... in my case finally after almost 4 years something got stuck whilst changing a SIM and now it is a non-LTE version but still very handy.

How I miss mine, just dropped it and screen cracked, so no touch activity. Beware the screen is and all in one meaning there is no glass and LCD screen, its one and the same. Cost to repair, the price of a new tablet. RIP.

Even after 3 years its running smoothly without any problems. Only issue is - no further updates after lollipop. It is possible to call using jio4gvoice, but recommend that not to use it for calling. Better use it as tablet rather than a calling machine.

Changing screen is a big cost and that too original will be costlier. Forget about changing it. I will try to use it with jio sim and see if it works for calling purpose.

Maybe you upgraded to a firmware compatible only with the 16GB version. Try flashing a version for your model via sony flashtool program. Hope this helps.

Updated the XTZ to Lollipop, but after update Wifi stopped working (wifi radio could not be switched on). I did Factory reset to make it work again. This update seems to be fluid as of now, one significant flaw is that the Tab now takes more than 12 hours to get fully charged.

People asking how to make SIM Call from this Tablet : -Although this Tablet has LTE and supports SIM it DOESNOT support GSM and therefore you can NOT make regular phone call from this tablet. Theres an unofficial way which is quite risky and might not even work or it may force you to factory reset.So its for advanced users only. If you still wanna go ahead and do it (unofficial) heres the XDA link : People asking if they should upgrade to KitKat : -In my opinion, its not worth it. Kitkat is a pain in the arse and its way TOO BUGGY for use. Battery life is good. With all battery saving options on I can get 18 to 20 hours of standard use (browsing, 2 or 3 movies, gaming). I've not added any third-party battery saving apps yet but I have stamina mode etc on

useful solution , if you had failed update . after installing Sony companion program , and try to solve the update failed problem , the update process not complete and the error coming again , what i do , i go to windows safe mod with network access ( F8 after restart windows ) and i go to sony companion software , in the update part select Update my phone/tablet then in Blue link select Repair my phone try the instruction like sony companion said , and do all the instruction .in my case in second try the problem solved , that is android kitkat 4.44 after 3 Annoying day .

I found the tablet z to be a brilliant machine, Easy in the hands you dont get any accidental touching of the screen with the feature of the wider edges which i found really benificial. If you like gaming its perfect anything from racing games to first person shooters. The designe is sleek and extreamly portable, Not found anyproblems in regards to handeling. HD movies are brilliant on a 10.1" screen super crisp and clear no blur. Perfect. The water Proof feature was great aswell first thing i did when i got it was put it under a tap, Really impressed. All in all its a fantastic bit of tech that i think would be great in anyones hands. 10/10

I like everything about the tab except two features. I don't know why Sony does this, but they create an amazing shape, all amazing features, camera, dust/water-proofing, great sound, display, anything you can think of...but they go low on the things that may really matter to a buyer. For example, the USB port is 2.0. Why? Who uses 2.0 now? Fine, I'll go with the 2.0 technology. I'll bare the pain of waiting a little longer when transferring data at a lower speed. But what about the chipset? Why a lower quality chipset than that of a Lumia 2520? Even when Sony costs way more than the Lumia? Anyone who wants to know the details can do a comparison between the two chipsets and you'll know what I'm talking about. I'd want to hear from Sony themselves on this one. I've been noticing them doing this in a lot of their devices, including phones. Which is making it really difficult for me to stick to Sony; for which, by the way, I'm known as the brand ambassador among my friends due to my every phone and most devices being from Sony. I'm getting disappointed :(

Most of the sony device have a problem with their touchscreen. hope SONY do something about this problem. I just notice the weakness of those brand. I'm a Sony Xperia user and I may be biased but I would go for this one instead of Asus' Nexus 7 2gen tablet. I know this unit is much expensive than the Nexus 7 2gen and has a lower OS version(v4.1.2, Nexus 72nd gen is 4.3) but its worth it. Whats more, the Nexus 7 2nd gen has several issues such as multitouch issues(even with the android build update JSS15Q didnt resolved it) and the Netflix error which is giving the users problem connecting to net via WiFi. Go for this Tablet.

Ur display settings in xperia tab z is set to max, and not set to adaptive.tab z is 1080p so it uses a lot of power, tradeof of beauty to power. I was specific about having one that uses a SIM because WiFi services are terribly poor in my country. My friend requested specifically for the Xperia Tab z that uses a SIM and was told, that was what will be shipped to him. He received a tab that is WiFi only and sent it to me in Sierra Leone. You mentioned WMV. My Sony Tablet Z (rev.5) does not support WMV. I mean that its default movie player cannot play WMV files. Additional video player is required, for example, MX player. According to its own power control software (in the power settings) it can drain full battery for 3 days in the sleep mode. It seems buttery soft is not correct (it shows 3% decreasing after 7 hours of power-Off!!! 1240 hours in this specs look like for flight and "not touch tablet" mode ;-) There is preinstalled SonySelect app on the Tablet. It points to the play market aps "selected" by Sony. From the recommended list I get interest for only one. But when I try to get it (right from SonySelect) the Play Market says that it is not compatible to my device. Bravo Sony!!! So easy to test if you can call or not. First, its an Android OS. its competitor xxxxx tablet 2 10. can make calls because you can install the application whatsapp. Why? Because once you install you kust verofy your number and they will send an sms to your device which you must confirm by reading the sms, copy the veirification code and put it into whatsapp to verify. You can install whatsapp on the bitten fruit mobile device but not on its pad (tablet). Whay is that? Because you can't receive and send a sms from there while on its archrival tablet you can. Just test it out. Install whatsapp if you know the number of your SIM card and see if you get a sms. If yes, then the keypad for making a call is hidden somewhere. Cheers

All Tegra3 devices are stuttering in for example browsing, and freezing for a second on very simple tasks like text input. By far the worst chipset Ever made, possible Tegra4 will be worse. Asus tablets like tf300 are useless due to the extreme stuttering, even seriously underpowered tablets like galaxy tab 2 are much smoother.

yup it does, however i have a comment about it, i am very old fashioned about USB drives, is there a way to set it so i can use the old "remove USB drive" thingy on the windows menu, i somehow feel unsafe by just plug - unplug it to the computer, i know is a nice feature, but as mentioned i am old fashioned, i tried the USB mass storage option on the settings menu, but it still behaves with the USB OTG settings, any ideas? or am i just being clumsy by wanting such an old feature?

this tablet should equip with Snapdragon 600 rather than S4 Pro(I heard S600 is coming this Q1 2013 though), it's no point that a tablet use the same chipset as a mobile phone that not make a tablet unique at all.
