here are some advantages, good camera 21MP take good pictures, has good lighting, processor is MediaTek MT6755 powerful enough to handle big games, its similar to snapdragon 625, big screen, good 16 megapixel front cam, with flash, disadvantages, battery life is ok, i mean at work and your not on it till 11-12PM its at like 60-65% screen is to wide barely any bezell on sides of phone, screen is almost like an edge screen, and, yeah but otherwise it is a good phone

its a great phone, camera quality is awesome, altho iv seen a iphone 7plus focus on words on newspaper better, but i love the 21MP camera, 6 inch screen is great for viewing, to wide though you end up messing up phone by hitting random apps, due to screen, phone is made well, i dont like the fact that the rim of the phone are separate instead of one piece and battery life could be bigger and better like 3200mAh instead of a 2700mAh battery altho it will last you the whole day at work if you use it wisely processor is really fast, mine was a fast processor even tho i had huge apps on it so yeah, great phone but some things about it i wish were fixed

Yes I agree with you. I had mine about a year and a half and mine! The fon freezes a lot and the memory gets full for no apparent reason. I have to turn fon off and restart it every time to get it working again. It really sucks.

After using it for 1 year, I can say it has great cameras (Both front and rear) but the video color reproduction and the auto-focus on the selfie cam are terrible. I never had any issue with it's performance, although I only use it for social media, music and light-gaming. It fell off my hands multiple times on different heights (Almost uncountable and without any phone cases or screen protector) and only presented some minor scratches on the sides. The only things I had issues with, were the storage and about a week ago the display stopped functioning correctly (It's a shame, it was a really good display even under sun legibility conditions). The battery isn't that bad if you activate the stamina mode and put brightness to the minimum, with normal use it lasts the whole day without charging. But overall, it is a great phone if you look for good cameras and regular social media usage. Please, ignore if I mispelled something. I'm latin-hispanic btw.

Have been using this phone for almost 2 years and here are my insights Pros: Good camera both front and back Good gaming phone Multitasking is fine Durable too, It often slip my hand, fell on my bed, fell on my table, squeezed on my bag or body while sleeping but its still on one piece. Cons: Camera takes too long to shoot photos (though results are really great) Battery life is too short since screen is too big (always bring powerbank) Display blinks when brightness is changed from low to high (LCD got replaced by service center) Bad cooling system, easily gets hot while gaming. Small Internal storage (got only 10gb of storage, eventhough I bought 64gb sdcard, I can't install many apps since I can't transfer every single app on SDCARD) Overall this phone is great and served its purpose on me.

Hi, i have been using this phone for almost 1 year, i was very disappointed with this phone, i got attracted to this phone because of its camera, first things first, i got display issues during the first six months, i got it replaced since i was in the warranty period, but what to say i got another issues, both of my camera were out, it shows camera not available, i rushed into the service center, they told me i have to replace the camera module, what a waste of my money. never ever to sony again.

Dears i got this phone xaperia xa ultra from almost 10 months i was shocked from phone performance 1- the camera was very very slow 2- the internal memory is full out very fast & its clear if i only restart the phone 3- finally as this phone price & category i thought that this phone is waterproof or water resistances as most of Sony phones but i shocked when the phone is dead because couple of drop of water ,and now the agent need to make me pay almost the price of the phone again to fix it now i have to pay double of the phone price while the phone spices doesn't worth half of it original price

Hi, I have this phone for about 1 1/2 years now. Performance wise its decent for a mid-range phone. Signal is great on this phone especially mobile data (using GLOBE from PH). Camera is decent but a bit slow at times. Battery is small for the LCD size, from my usage (heavy mobile data user) last less than 12 hrs.

Its a great overall phone. My last android is Samsung tab 1 and used it for 6 years. When I got this I am skeptical at first because of the size screen size difference. In the end, I am very satisfied on everything hardcore use, photography, app and games in this don't have any errors. Except that i dint want to try to root this yet like my previous android.

Bought it 2 years ago, overall it's not bad. But some things do not like 1. The camera is 21mp, but the picture not as good as I expected. Quality is OK not good. 2. It's quite heavy, I used Xperia D5316 before, it's much light to carry. D5316 do not make my pant's pocket feel heavy, but XA Ultra is heavy. 3. It has a bit Bluetooth and Wifi issue sometimes. When you turn both bluetooth and Wifi on together. It may cause connection problems. Have to restart the phone to get it fixed. Overall it's not bad, but I prefer to buy Samsung or LG next time.

After one year of using phone, everything works okay, except one issue that I found. Issue was speaker sound, sometimes after unlocking device, there is no any sound from speaker for 5-7 seconds, after that time passes, sound is back and working again, no problems. I'm amazed of it's display colors and also camera, I'm fan of big screen phones, so love this device

Am using Sony Phones from past serial years, Sony Ericsson W300 was my first phone Xperia X10 mini pro was second Xperia C 2305 was third Xperia C5 Ultra Dual was forth & last Xperia XA ultra dual - F3216 Had bought this phone 18 months ago, as soon as warranty period over phone stared giving issues, Phone automatically get switched off (Phone shows error of Sim card removed & get switched off), had done Factory Reset twice, however same problem occurring. When i contacted Sony Service Center(SSC) they informed me that the issue is in Motherboard & to replace MB have to pay approx. INR 8140.00/- with the warranty of 03 months only. Am confused whether can I go ahead with MB replacement with only 03 month warranty, Had purchased this phone (Marshmallow v 6.0) in @ INR 24000/- now had to pay 8140.00 = 32140/- + it cannot be upgraded to Android – 8.0 Oreo, Android 9.0 P has already been announced or Buy new phone with latest version,

After using just for one year (warranty just expired recently) now phone auto shuts down every time even at full battery level. i have already done a factory reset and still the problem was not solved. then i got a local service man to repair the IC and installed the latest version. but unfortunately phone still shuts down and can not start. need to keep about 10 minutes then switch on. It is already more than a year, and I appreciate the performance of this phone. It never gives me headache, I like it the most since it has 3gb RAM. No loading moments. It also depends on how you take good care of it. I really love it. The only thing is, its really hard to look for availabe phone cases, and tempered glass for this phone. Overall, good phone 👍.

Good phone. Small battery is not a problem, I get two days on one charge. Too bad it doesn't have double tap screen wake. Unfortunately, this model has a long history of wifi problems. Not connecting, authentication failure, losing wifi for no good reason. Restart usually helps, but how many times can you restart your phone??? If you go to Sony support forum, there are multiple threads about that. Sony support people know that it's beyond repair, so they are instructed to pretend that something is wrong with your router (even if you have ten other devices connected to it).

This phone really works for me,I don"t mind to switch on and off data,or wi-fi,disabled some apps that I don"t use,keep location off-mostly,this save me battery life.Display is great,speaker just the best,not stereo though,have it around 70% on and microphone too good,reception is great,even in places that I didn"t have with Iphone,don"t use much camera but still make good photo by my opinion.This phone makes every thing I need and even more,don"t see reason to look around,hope Sony will change the list for Oreo update and XA Ultra will be included too.I think this phone not for person who like to keep screen on more than 5 hours per day and not for heavy gamer,the rest will be happy to use it.

Im using this phone for over a year. One thing I dislike is i got a single sim!well my bad coz i ddnt checked it. Its battery life is only 2700maH, so unbelievable for a 6.0" display. The camera is great but not too good for low lighting on rear cam. and the worst part is its internal memory of 10gb which is not enough for an android esp for updating apps.The satisfying part for me is its selfie cam of 16mp which is so natural. Im planning to buy huawei nova 2i to replace this first sony phone i have. Still im thankful for its service..:)

This is my first Android phone,last 5-6 years used Blackberry7, 10 devices and Lumia phones,but nothing to do both get to EOL. I"v got used XA Ultra,around 1.5 years old,but from friend who really well took care of it,He just like me dosen"t use much apps only calls,sms,email,browser,some music,makes photo occasionally(documents)scanner and so on.I have to say wowwww,for that purpose this is my best phone ever. I have zero problem with reception,in Toronto freedom mobile,just like Blackberry,call quality is outstanding,much better then the phones I used before,great speaker to listen music,Screen just wow-best for mid ranger,battery is good too for my usage,metal frame+ Naugat updated,Sony UI is great,smooth,fast scrolling when ever I try......... Very good phone for person like me,of course not the fastest device in the market,not best camera and so on ,but any phone have it"s advantage and disadvantage,pros and cons,I just found good phone to get used to Android OS with out braking the bank,it"s free for me. So for me 9 out 10,why not 10 out 10 bcs nothing is perfect in this world,even phones 1000$ have cons.Don"t expect from this device performance like Iphone 8 or Galaxy 8 and You will be OK.

I loved this phone the minute I saw its size, price and camera. It was relatively good at first sight and I'm not the richest person in the world so I went for it. The only game I did play on it was Legacy of Discord: Furious Wings and the app ran very smoothly (but I unistalled it soon after because it became boring). However, this phone's storage eventually drove me insane. I found myself resetting it every 2-3 months after all the bloatware build up and honestly I wasn't going very easy on it either. I have a whole bunch of social media apps I use and others such as Wattpad and DeviantArt which I don't see others use very often. Though I did have a bunch of apps for "just in case", I'd install them very early on and that'd be it. The phone eventually would start filling with other bloatware I did not need to the point where system UI would shut down. I'd go through my album every once in a while to make sure I'm not that person that has thousands of useless screenshots that eat up space for no reason, clear my downloads regularly and clean app cache every day. So might I remind you, I install all my apps after resetting my phone and I still have about 4-5GB of memory left on it. From that point on I don't install anything. I did have a lot of music, but it was on the memory card. So might I ask as to how 4-5 GB of "free space" out of the 10GB (not 16GB, cause there's the bloody system) gets filled that bloody fast? The camera was also nowhere as good as I hoped it would be, so for a rating... This phone gets an unstable 7/10 from me.

Great review. People must recognize that this is a low-cost phone. The 2 things that annoy me most is battery life (solved by carrying an external battery charger) and the low memory (16 gig). Oh yeah, and the memory-hogging bloatware that cannot be removed. Other than that, serves my needs well. I love the big screen, which was the feature that attracted me to this phone. I don't play high end games. It plays media well, and the sound quality through headphones is good (it powers my full-size Akai phones well). If you don't need a Samsung Galaxy 8, get this phone for 1/3 the price.

If you receive Whatsapp's IMAGE message from friends more than 200 per day is maybe not enough but for about 20~30 that is just fine, it is better to move the Whatsapp photos to save in the SD card, I just never try it yet. I also use the Facebook and Messager at the same time, but Facebook is a ram sucker, so I use the Chrome or other browsers to launch the Facebook webpage it pretty decent. I also try out Facebook-lite-version it is just framing the layout like an app but the Chrome is much faster. I suggest 2018 should have at least 32GB internal storage like XA1 Ultra.

The internal memory is very little which is not usable. The default memory leave around 8GB for your install apps. Whatsapp restoration cannot be done on this phone. Btw, the Whatsapp can't move to SD card also. It is really unusable when it is 2018.

The camera is so far so good to quite nice, but the low light selfie must remember enable the Night Portrait flash when selfie at the flash options then it did capture a better picture. Nice bezel to grab with finger when selfie and attached a selfie stick is work like a charm because give a hand posture in picture will trigger the shutter and the IOS work well most of the time (because a big shaking any IOS will failed the stability) , you still have time to change any posing in a short while . All the app can't transfer to SD card, but the photo video and music are allow to save or transfer into the SD card. Other pros are the 6inch beautiful screen with very nice sunlight readability and the night comfortable reading too. Responsive UI with theme and one-handed operations. Super loud mono speaker at the bottom. Dedicated camera button. Qnovo charging technology. NFC. Nice Xperia apps...cons is battery endurance not for massive gamer, but moderate usage for one day with stamina mode on is acceptable for using Whatsapp Facebook YouTube some games, messaging and calls etc. Hope the Oreo updates will bring better endurance.

i bought it for $180 on black friday from Amazon. after two months of usage as my primary phone i can honestly say it is a piece of garbage. Even though there's 3 gb of ram, apps like facebook, instagram, dropbox, photoshop, etc constantly hang and freeze. 75% of the time I can't even open Instagram - i just see a black or white screen. Pressing on the home or back buttons do nothing. This occurs in a lot of other programs too, so its just not Facebook's fault. well I'm sure their apps aren't optimized either, but for a mid-tier phone with 3 gb of ram to be this slow is ridiculous.

Bought it back in July'2016. The phone looks look, has a strong solid body and the OS is pretty fast for its price to date but (1) the battery life sucks. The worst part is that the battery is non-removable. Anyways, without a power pack (portable charger), it will be dead as a brick in no time. I mean it takes like 10 hours to go from 100% to 0% charge (I am a heavy user). Lucky for me, mine is a desk job so its getting charged most of the time. (2) The camera takes ages to save the picture once clicked. (3) Also, had the issue of the person on the other side not being able to hear me. This was solved by the software update though. The update needed 900 MB of internal memory to be freed. So, I had to uninstall so many of my favorite apps :( (4) I am not a gamer but the phone heats up with video calls too. verdict: I would not recommend this to a friend.

HI I got my Xperia XA Ultra on mid october 2017. i am happy with the functions but about a week later my friend complains she cannt hear what I am saying but I could hear her clearly. And this happened couple of times and my colleague who is using Xperia C5 told he also faced the same incident and when he switch on the speaker and switched off the speaker the issue fixed. So me too practicing the same thing. Is anyone else had faced this incident and got any permanent fix. Pls share. Thx

I got the phone in December 2016 and I can say that overall it is an excellent phone, the speed of the processor, the camera is all great. But there are two small drawbacks: 1) speaker - on the speakerphone I did not hear, with the update it passed, but the noise started; 2) the screen - when the phone overheats, it reacts badly, sometimes it does not answer at all. Reboot in this case, you can only pull out the memory card and sim card.

This phone looks so elegant and premium, I have not met anyone yet guessed price of this phone less than $500. But, that's said, looks can be deceiving and in XA Ultra case, it is and it is not, because looks hint that it is a premium product but price says otherwise, which is around $200- $250 depends where you shop as of October 2017. This phone doesn't have fingerprint reader, at least the US version, because of some legal patent issues. You can still find the international version with that hardware. This phone also doesnt have double-tap screen wake up, which has been a standard since at least 2014. I would think that the lack of fingerprint reader should have made double-tap wake a priority. I mean, can this brother have his cake and eat it too? I am aware I am making too many first world complaints, but this is where you make your money. Besides, a phone that runs on Nougat and will be upgraded to Oreo soon, that is disappointing. Screen is simply gorgeous and even in direct sunlight, it does look like as if it is in a dark room, still crisp and no glare with its very thin bezels.Phone's adaptive brightness truly works. Watching videos on XA Ultra's giant screen is very entertaining. However, from many forums and users photos, I noticed this phone and many other Sony phones are very prone to burn in images, ghost images and image retention, whatever you call it. Lets compare it to its class of to mid or low range devices. One thing truly matters that tops many other brands operating on android, even Samsung and LG and that is the updates. This is a mid-range or low end phone as price wise. So, performance is not there. It struggles badly with antutu benchmark, only scores about 45000. That in practice means, even though this phone offers a great viewing for gaming, do not expect to play any graphic intensive games, it will only disappoint you. Sound on this phone is quite surprising, built in player and sound modes out of the box by Sony are impressive. Just to compare, it is pretty lame for LG to put out a phone like V20 and not have a LG built music player with sound presets, if user has to download an app to enjoy a product's most advertised feature, that feature is only adequate, even still very premium. Sony's Smart Connect app can be downloaded to make XA Ultra more smart and more streamlined for your media consumption. This phone proves an age old myth. And that is, high MP camera doesnt mean anything at all. XA Ultra has almost twice the pixel density of Google Pixel and mostly standard pixel offerings of 12 or 13 MP of 2017 across the industry. Camera has dedicated shutter button, but that is not a novelty any longer, since most phones allow volume rocker to be used as shutter on camera mode. Photos do not get stabilized and come out blurry if not held firmly. Low light scenarios are more than disappointing, 16MP front and 21MP back cameras do less than mediocre job in low light settings. Some phones 5MP cameras can do far better job. This is my question, how can so many phone manufacturers brag about having Sony lenses on their products, while Sony itself puts such underperforming lenses on their products? That is like someone has a pizza shop and they sell their prime sauce to another pizza shop and they use hunt's tomato sauce, because it is more profitable doing so, without taking pride in their own product. Lets compare it to its class of to mid or low range devices. One thing truly matters that tops many other brands operating on android, even Samsung and LG and that is the updates and manufacturer support. Sony is simply the best brand with updates and support on android. More Sony phones will be upgrading to Android 8.0 Oreo than any other brand and mostly before any other brand in late 2017 or early 2018. XA Ultra is one of them to get Oreo upgrade. For those who doesnt know how those upgrades matter, it really improves anything from battery life or security to user experience. Even though, as of September 2017, there are still more devices run on android 4.0 KitKat than Android 7.0 Nougat, just try to use a Kitkat phone and a Nougat phone side by side. So, someone who doesnt play graphic extensive games, who doesnt care his/her email will take 0.03 second less to open than Samsung Galaxy 8, who thinks fingerprint sensor doesnt matter at all or the double-tap, but likes watching a lot of videos on his/her phone and finally do not have more than $200-$250 budget for a phone, this phone should be on your top 5 list.

Well, I can say that this cell phone has disapointed me somehow, it is not what I expected. The camera only takes great pic during the day, at night it sucks, for real, flash light is kind of dimmed. Internal storage is rediculous, I can only download 4 or 5 apps out of the ones the phons brings. Battery, uff! It runs out so fast, I start day 100% by early night, it is almost dead. On the other hand, size is great, colors not that bright, but ok.

First of all, Battery is worst is in this phone. The phone takes hours to charge but doesn't last even hour very well. Secondly, Call quality is not good always and the person who is listening has difficulty sometimes to hear us. Last but not least GPS is also very poor 9 out of 10 times it doesn't guide you to the destination. It gets lost in between. Will not recommend anyone to buy it not just this phone but any sony. Absolutely the worst phone i haVe ever had the displeasure of using. *Gps connectivity issues. *Short battery lifespan. *Wifi authentication and connectivity issues. *Horrible Network connectivity issues regardless of service provider. *Multiple software issues that are honestly too numerous to list. I used to have the sony xperia z for tmobile about 4 years ago and the only reason why i did not keep purchasing sony phones is because tmobile dropped them from their stores. I loved that phone so it is extremely disappointing to know that the Xperia aspect of the sony company have slacked so much. Honestly seems like their days are numbered and will soon face a future not unlike their other branch brothers and sisters VAIO.

I am having this phone for 1 week now. ( i had before a xperia z2 for over 3 years - that phone worked flawlessly and still running - i gave it to my father) so i bought a brand new XA ultra - got a good deal. the phone is in many ways under Z2. only the front camera and the display are better compared to my old z2. build quality is also lower. Xa feels fragile with plastic bezels. in video department i't a let down . has hd only 30fps ( with Z2 i had 60fps and also 4k) XA feels also slower in apps compared to my 3 years z2... overall is a nice phone if you don't have too high expectations. display is crisp and large and front camera is good for selfies.

I have bought this phone about 6 months back. Although, the looks and camera quality of the phone are really classy, the battery life is very low. Also, because of the battery issue phone device screen got patches internally and I had to get it repaired through Sony center. As the phone is under warranty they have replaced the screen twice and replaced battery also. However, still the battery gets heated very soon and it's not a good experience. WORST phone I ever had. I used it like 10 months and had to use its warranty in the second one ´cause the touch doesnt worked anymore. It comes full of bloatware and had a HORRIBLE BT and WiFi signal (constantly disconnects with no reason mostly pairing it with my car's stereo, other smartphones works OK but this piece of sh/&t doesnt). Call for assistence at SONY but they didnt helped me at all, same on their forums, I never used a Sony smartphone before and certainly I´ll never use it again. The only thing positive about this phone is the desingn Its very appealing.

Honest opinion from non-Sony fan. This phone is very decent. Liking the edge to edge screen though the top and bottom bezel is thick. Get a black one if you can. I personally having a hard time getting used to the on screen button. Display is beautiful. Camera is above average. Pricing is quite hefty. Not liking the battery life much. If you read gsmarena review its only 55hrs endurance rating. Overall a good phone if you a big fan of Sony.

One day using is enough, two day mostly for receive call and message. Playing game a little bit is okay but not going too much, watching movie okay with moderate usage. It has Fast charge 3.0, easy and fast to get power. If you are whole day gamer you won't be happy, but this is still a great phone for youths and parents.

I had buy Xperia XA Ultra on Mar 2017. There are many problem are coming. Like Mic issue, Touch problem, Network Problem, Battery Problem, Heating Issue, Hanging issue and etc... Camera is better Good. But if the camera is on The batter is draining more.. I had use the camera for 15 minutes the battery is after that only 37% on first its 85%.. The model is tottaly waste more problem is coming.. Till now June 2017 i had handover the phone to the service center 4 times. But the same problem is repeating. they didn't taking any steps... So I recommend there are many good Phone instead of this model

Everything is fine. The reason i bought this is because of it looks. I tell u fam this phone is very beautiful in personal. Just need to have a case to protect the back side from scratches. It can be easily scratched :/ i don't use screen protector. Been using this for many months and the screen is still smooth no scratches or anything. The only problem i getting is, the camera is too damn slow. You'll experience this after about 2 to 3 months usage. Especially when switching from photos after taking a video. The app will just lag, you can't tap anything i u close then open again, an error will, something like, camera is being used by another app.

Yes, i had the same problem . The problem is that you might be holding your phone with your right hand while on a call, which might cover the mic without you notice. try holding it with your left hand while talking and it worked fine with me.

XA Ultra is more for selfie and media while One Plus 3T is a powerful device for gaming (costs more than XA Ultra too) it depends on your preference really. If you are thinking of buying XA Ultra, you should wait for XA1 Ultra with better specs and Nougat.

I've had the phone a couple of weeks now and im incredibly disappointed in its performance. The OS and random processes eat so much of the ram it is unable to attach pics to emails as it has insufficient free memory. That is with minimal apps installed/running. The battery is terrible when it is being used, so care is to be taken. On the whole a decent phone,let down by poor memory management, greedy OS and a lacking battery.

I owned this phone for three days and absolutely loved everything about it. Only one issue for me. The battery. It's mostly ok, with some very serious issues: - The front camera stopped working since the last firmware update. This bug affected many of Sony's models, and their support want helpful. Might be fixed on Nougat, remains to be seen. Meanwhile the 'selfie phone' can't take any selfies. - The screen loses its responsiveness every so often. Restarting the phone solves this, so i suspect this is due to the low memory & inferior cpu specs. - The battery is weak, but i was aware of that to begin with, i always carry a charger with me. Other than that it's mostly fine, and provides a fairly great value for the money.

I bought this phone in January and it's March now my internal storage is already 90 percent full EVEN THOUGH I have a 32Gb SD card inserted. For an average phone user who uses many applications and plays games, this phone is out of the league. Although it boasts a 16Mp front camera and 21Mp Main camera, the storage and battery life are below average that of decent smart phones like the Galaxy J7 Prime. Too much bloat ware that annoys you with useless notifications. Go for the Galaxy J7 Prime friend not this egg fryer.

i do own a sony xperia xa ultra since the release of the device and as for my device i do have warranty from sony itself so for the overheating of device when using the camera or the screen ghosting which i have expected happen to many xa device so i will encourage those that have the device with warranty to ask sony to repair in your country and those that are considering to buy a new device this is not recommended to you. Buying a samsung J7 prime will be better in term of saving cost more battery and lesser installed default apps than sony. If you really want good camera under sony company but not Sony xperia XZ then wait for Sony Xperia XA1. Did regret buying this phone as i need to repair it twice ( they really change those parts to make sure it won't overheat or ghost again ) that each repair take around 1week. The device only have 16Gb for internal storage which facebook can take up to 500+ MB which is kinda sucks. Hope this will help in making decision

Youtube and videos--- hanging videos and sounds unsynchronization 3. Lastly, the very best, the signal just disappeared , cannot connect to any networks. so the phone now is totally useless. if your an outdoor type heavy multi-game user, choose the Xiaomi Mi Max (4000mah battery) but you get average camera quality. If your usually in office, Sony XA Ultra (2700mah battery) is okay with more premium look, even if you use the XA Ultra for gaming you have no problem with the battery life coz you can always charge it beside your desk. The hour consumption difference between a 4000mah and 2700mah battery for me was about 2.5hours when using the both phones for gaming.

Big mistake buying this phone. Wish I had paid extra and bought a Samsung. The camera is poor quality, taking blurred shots that have to be retaken until you give it up as a bad job! The wireless connection is rubbish, and takes forever to load anything. The phone spends half of its life crashing and freezing, making it impossible to use for work purposes. The internal space is minimal, so you will need an SD card. If you update an app, it moves it back to your internal memory, thus causing more time wasted constantly moving apps back to the SD card. The screen is not always responsive, and has to be pressed/touched more than once. I can not wait to save up and buy a new phone. I will not be buying Sony again, as this phone has put me off for life. I should have stuck to what I know, Samsung all the way.

Phone is good, great camera and battery performance good for one day ( Stamina mode lasting about 1.5 days and ultra stamina mode about more than 3 days). 16GB Storage Capacity is not convenient. After installing NOVA 3 , Asphalt 8 and some social media apps, I now have 1.5GB remaining internal storage. You can move some apps to SD Card though. Gaming performance is good. If you have Barry Allen's eyes, you can detect some frames dropped(whoosh!). It's okay for me thatXA ultra is not waterproof, its unlikely for me to drop the phone in a bowl of cereals, toilet bowl, swimming pool, drop in the ocean while flying, or exposed to rain when I'm at Sahara. Better if you will have a thin clear plastic case to protect the side bezel from sudden bump and overall scratches.There's a minor update on February 2017 and I think its a prep for Nougat. If you are planning to root this device, you better stay at Marshmallow at the moment. If you want more extra care, buy an armor case with an auto deploy mini parachute to protect your phone from sudden drop.

Upgraded myself recently from Sony z3 to xa ultra n m very disappointed. Human beings are creatures of habit so I was surprised to find xa ultra without the double tap to wake up phone when z3 had it n I'd used it for over 2yrs...instead there is double tap to sleep here n I wonder how they expect me to wake up the phone? Have to press the power button to bring me to the unlock screen. It's a hassle. Second xa ultra is lagging... Simple task like deleting msg takes couple of seconds, much longer than z3. 3rd how can a phone time out in 2min if you are using it? Isn't the timeout for when phone is inactive? Fellow Canadian here on Freedom also with sony xa ultra. The poor signal in basements is common for freedoms network and not specific to this phone. My XA ultra, Moto G Play and BlackBerry Z10 all have terrible reception when in places like basements. It's because freedom is using older network, that's why the rates are cheaper compared to the competitors. You get what you pay for kind of thing.

I've had this phone for 4 months now. I have a feeling I could have done much better. I bought it in Canada, so the price was still very high. The most annoying feature is the low battery. It needs to be charged at least once a day unless it is completely idle. It I use a demanding function, like tracking a jog with GPS while listening to music, I lose half the battery. Also, the two times that I didn't manage to charge it before it went to zero, the phone lost it's back light, and I had to send it in for repairs. With my carrier, all Sony's have to be sent to a designated SONY repair centre, and both times it took 6 weeks to get my phone back. I find that with my carrier Freedom (wind) mobile, the reception is very bad when I'm in a valley, or my basement apartment, so I cannot use the phone's data while I'm at home. The picture quality is very nice, except in low light where everything is cast in a red light. The phone is so pretty as well, I love the speaker volume, and although sometimes the web apps can be slow, the non-data using apps always work well. Overall, I'd try something different next time, but this one will do for now.

Not surprised you sold it in 20 days,any phone or most of them need at least 2-3 weeks to settle down,that means to update OS,apps and so on.Sure CPU first month work hard(overheating effect),plus you enable every thing,BT,WI FI,data+youtube,music just to try it.That phone is not flagship one,but come out with really good specs and affordable price,so use it wise and it will thank you with great experience.

I had been using Z3+ until it recently got stolen. I got another phone as replacement and trust me when i say, I miss my Z3+ a lot. I've been looking or a phone in that price bracket for quite a few days now and have not had much success. Z3+, even though a little low on the screen brightness scale, offered an amazing 20.5 MP primary camera and a very powerful 5 MP front camera. Because I am fond of phone photography, I was very satisfied with the specs this phone offered. The screen resolution was great, display was fine, even though the reds were a little muted. The pictures were clear and crisp, with amazing inbuilt filters and other options. Other than that, the storage was great, RAM was great. The phone ran smoothly, without giving me any trouble as far as the speed and operating the phone in general is concerned. Sure, it did heat up quite a lot, sometimes too quickly with gaming but it cooled down equally fast. The battery life a decent,lasted me more than half a day after moderate usage. The battery saver mode allow for battery life extension. Even when the battery drained quicker than I expected, the turbo charger made foe quick recharging. However, I would have appreciated a stronger battery. The UI was beautiful, with a lot of essential pre-installed apps. The phone, because of its dual glass panel, was a little slippery but the in-hand feel was beautiful. The glass was sturdy and did not damage itself even after I had dropped it a few times. Personally, I would recommend the phone based on my experience with it. I too am thinking of buying the same phone again. There's no such thing as a perfect phone but this one got as close as it could get. The pros outdid the cons. I don't know what the various experts would advice you to do, but as a commoner using the phone, I really liked it. :)

XA ULTRA is Third category fone. Worst fone ever in my life. Sold it within 20 days of purchase with loss. It was over heating, all d applications were not supported and unfortunately application doesnot support while opening gallery also. Battery drains very quickly. A9 pro is superb fone.

You're welcome. Playing MP3s with Bluetooth while driving for around 6 hours and of course cellular signal and data are still on: from 90%+ charge, it did not went below 40%. I guess if you'll be playing pure music and not using any other "signals", "apps", I think this will last 24 hours :) To achieve this, just turn on Stamina mode. Stamina mode ensures that only the App you are currently using gets full power allocation, the rest are like almost in sleep mode ^_^

Got my phone just last night. At first I got problem with headset jack. The headphone wasn't working. I tried using 3 different headsets,same problem. Then i tried to push it harder down inside,then it worked! Dang! Don't scare me like that. When I checked the jack,there was a tiny scrap metal inside😂😂😂 My place is 45mins away from where I bought it! The taxis here are very expensive! 😂 Anyways, I love it, except that within 10mins of charge(the stamina mode was ON),from 100%,it down to 88% !!! 😭And I was just reading manga!

This product has 2 major problems... 0) WIFI is weak. I got this phone just a week it came to my country. this was my first impression after I filled up all the warranty notes at Sony Store, the next few hours I need to connect to my mobile / pocket wifi. and believe me, i have a pretty hard time connecting to it. though after few weeks and months they got more system updates. still they never corrected it. I have my other phones with me but wifi connectivity is good and have no problem but his phone sucks at it. This phone and my pocket wifi is place side by side but the wifi bar is weak and interment. 1) it says 16GB internal but it is only 10Gb usable in total. so you need to very very very careful on saving storage. Though it has option to transfer photos / videos to SD, it is just up to that. While not all android app supports moving to SD, then you have that very big storage problem. 2) takes 3 minutes to BOOT. imagine that. with the useless Xperia logo animation. Good thing they removed the PIN before you boot. RESOLVE the wifi.

No you can't use curved tamperd glass on this mobile... It has glue only on sides and it will automatically gets detached from screen when you remove mobile from pocket.. Better use ordinary tamperd glass with back cover... Im doing the same and it solved my problem...

got the phone for a week now. think it´s great but i seem to have a problem with transfering the apps the sd card. any app bigger the 70 mb won´t transfer to the sd card. it say´s there is not enough memory. that´s strange because i got a 64 gb sd card in there and only used 2 gb so far.( anybody have a solution for that ) beside that the phone work great with games. the sound is the loudest i ever had on a smart phone.yes the battery drains quickly but just put it in stamina mode and you will go on the whole day.

I love this phone. This is my first Sony and what attracted me was the big screen, decent cameras and less than half the cost of lot of the flagship phones. I have zero complaints for this phone really. Storage is a non issue as I'm using SD card. Camera is something I use a lot on my phones and pleased with both the front and back camera. Battery hasn't been an issue for me as many suggest it is. It gets me an entire day without issue and charges fast with the included charger. Stamina mode can also get me through two full days between charge if needed. This mode can be customized as well to suit your needs. Indicator LED also has multiple colours which is nice. So happy with this phone and Sony. My next phone will very likely be another Sony, I'm hooked!

Been using this phone for 3 months already. The phone has small battery lifespan but it has built-in Stamina mode, which when activated would make your phone last up to 55 hours. The camera is good compare to its same-class phones, it's bevel-less on left and right sides. If you're into gaming, this phone is also a good use.

My Xperia XA Ultra takes blurry pictures with the front camera???? That is a huge dissapointment. I always take pictures on "auto". Camera on my previous phone ( Xperia Z1 )was much better. I always had razersharp pictures with my Z1.

The big difference of those phones are the size and updates... the XA Ultra have 6 inch and the Honor 7 5.2 inch. In the update part i think most likely the Honor 7 will be stuck on Marshmallow, the XA ultra will have Nougat.

XA Ultra's 2700mAh is good for medium use for one day charge. If you play games, you will need to charge twice or more daily...

Xperia XA Ultra is very disappointing. I am writing a review based on my personal experience in using this phone. I have never been so disappointed like this before, I love Sony Xperia phones and I have been a Sony user ever since but this particular unit disappoints and annoys me big time. 1. WIFI connection failure. This is unit is very poor when it comes to WIFI connecting. We have several gadgets at home, laptop and other phones and they can perfectly connect to the wifi. XA Ultra would always kick out itself from the connection. Our WIFI at home has an excellent connection and I never had a problem connecting my other phones to it. 2. Battely life is poor. (If you really wanna have this unit, make sure you have powerbank) 3. Brightness of the phone isn't really that much. If you're used to other xperia phones, you'll get upset with XA Ultra's brightness and display. 4. Blurry camera. 21 mp rear camera, nope. Images appear blurry and the quality of the camera is not flattering. 5. Errors in sending photos using apps. This is what really annoys me. You take pictures, then try to send it to a person in messaging apps and wrong picture would be sent. I thought it was just a glitch or just human error, I keep testing it and everytime I send pictures, the picture that would be sent is not the one that you chose to send. So, yeah I don't recommend this phone. So many wrong things and it's not worth buying it.

If u disable it, your phone starts malfuncting or it wont work properly. 3) Anything you download, goes to Internal memory (there is no option for saving the downloads directly on SD card , so within minutes, the internal memory becomes full. Moreover, there is only one option to transfer photos and videos to SD card, however most of the times, it does not detect the data which can be transfrtted to SD card. So all the process has to be done manually. 4) The available internal memory is very low. any app a cutomers donloads from Play store goes to internal memory only. some apps have the option to change the storage from Internal Memory to SD card, but the application apps can not be transferred. 5) The Photo or Videos saved on SD card can not be shared via whats app / Facebook etc. There is no method to transfer from SD card to Internal memory 6) The placement of Volume Key is absolutely wrong. The key gets pressed when a customer holds the phone in hand. 7) When a customer types an sms and reaches the 4th line, then it can not scroll up to the 1st line. So when the sms is typed, one can review it in edit form from 2nd line only 8) A video player with very old version is pre-installed and set as default. The video can not be fast forwarded or reversed unless dragged by a minute pointer. The virtual keys for Adjusting Brightness, Volume or zoom in and out are not available. A customer can not change the default video player. 9) Whatever customised setting a cutomer does for ease in regular operations like keeping regular apps shortcut or default ringtone etc, all these is automatically modified to factory Default whenever there is Software Update / Software Repair with SONY Companion Tool etc. Even after reporting all these problems on various platforms, representatives of SONY CORPORATION have not buddged at all and just keep repeating about their Policy and Framework. No one has given any solutions to the problems yet. Even a low end CHINESE handset has got all these features now a days and with lots of other facilities. Its a challange to see whether SONY CORPORATION a Japanese Copany can resolve these issues

When open it shows all the apps on the phone. when I tap on whats app it shows storage, data usage , permissions, notifications, open by default, battery use and memory. When I tap on permissions it opens up a screen with camera, contacts, location, microphone, phone, sms and storage - with the off buttons. When I tap on 'storage' as directed, it goes back to SCREEN OVERLAY DETECTED and the same instructions all over again. I have tried many times and many different ways but I cant turn off the screen overlay. I am totally disgusted and have reverted to using my old phone until I find out what to do. Is it good for watching movies ? HELL YEAH! full hdmi ( assuming the movie is in 1080p) gives you crisp and clear pictures. I would suggest turning on super vivid mode ( >settings / >display / >Image enhancment select super vivid mode to maximize colours while viewing photos and videos, giving you a surreal, vibrant and super vivid images. If your thinking about getting this phone, I would suggest it. I have had it for 4 months now and trust me, I have put this thing through it's paces. I develop apps on this phone and test them out ON THIS PHONE. never had an issue what so ever and I recently upgraded from my Samsung Galaxy Note ( yes the ancient original note which btw still works perfectly) to the xperia xa ultra and loving every minute of it.

Ever since, I love Sony mobile and I am not looking for other devices because I have given my trust to Sony. I bought this XA ultra last three months and its working fine, the design is awesome. The thing that disappoints me is the battery - it lasts only five to six hours for continuous internet surfing thru 4G LTE network connection. And the worst is there are TONS of bloatware. For a 3 GB RAM, you have only 0.9 GB available, almost 2 GB consumed by useless applications that you cannot uninstall.

I bought my XA Ultra one week ago. I bought this one to replace my T2 Ultra which became slower after two years of usage. What I really like with XA Ultra is thin bezel screen, excellent camera, good speaker and premium design. It is quite good on performance. I'm still trying to explore the capabilities of this phone. What I recently encountered problem is a minor heat issue on top back of the phone whenever I play games (this I didn't experience with T2 Ultra, I even tried to play COC with these 2 phones at the same time but only XA Ultra is giving this minor heat issue). The battery is really way low compare with T2 Ultra though they have difference of 300 mAh but still it will not last one day especially if your data is on or if you continuously play games (maybe the chipset of XA Ultra is eating too much battery than T2 Ultra). For the internal memory of 16 GB, you can have 50% (8GB) available for you to use for installing apps and you can move your apps to SD cards (not all of them like FB). It's is also hard to look for a tempered glass which can cover full front of the phone, for the meantime I have a tempered glass which covered most of the screen but keep 3mm of side screen bezel which the area of the curve/round bezel. I also encountered problem with touch sensitivity which maybe due to tempered glass (maybe I will tried to remove it in order to test it), sometimes I need to double tap the apps or the screen buttons before it reacts. It is also heavy compare with previous Ultra models - I'm really curious where they add that extra grams on the phone with a lesser battery capacity - maybe the camera?

I bought the Ultra Dual Hong Kong version of this phone with a lot of hope that perhaps I will be able to use this phone for at least 4-5 years - which faded as soon as I took an overseas trip to China. The damn phone does not allow you to switch off both the sims if you want to! What the hell! Why not??? What this means folks, is, that either I keep the connection to my home sim on when traveling overseas or activate the overseas sim in my home country in order to switch off the home sim. The ability to select any Sim or number, and completely switch off the two without having to go into flight mode is convenience to experience. Plus the DAC circuitry for listening to Hi Fidelity music, 4GB ram with 64GB storage and expandable storage upto 2TB capacity and the switchable battery. A winner hands down without even mentioning the beautiful screen and the second screen utility. Viva LG! ... Life is really good with this product! I traded in my 1 week old XA Ultra for LG V10 which I already started to miss since I got the Sony XA Ultra Dual.

A little story if I may..... From moto G, moto G3 > Sony Xperia X(returned as unit faulty...seemed speedy device ...even with fault). ;noted XA Ultra seemed similar...on paper Sorry to say seems not to be /or, XA also faulty out the box?! - Screen stuttering occasionally browsing chrome..ytube Screen brightness seems not adjustable past/below half way mark (various combinations: on/off adaptive brightness, screen enhancement(s) etc...) (Compared: moto G) moving apps / file management seems challenging at best Appreciate beautiful craftsmanship ofthese Sony devices an seems Sony may be edging forward with quality manufactured hardware ...Software imimentation seems 'off' and not quite there ime Nova installed pretty much immediately photo management album app appears mixed backup date arrangement ..following several fail attempts, looking at gallery apps.. Sorry Sony I may bail until nxt iterations... bit disappointed I guess. tl;dr Hardware seems good, software seems 'unfinished' ..bt ohso smooth inplaces ( rtn to moto?!...)

Excellent phone! Comfortable screen superb camera good battery life. I use it a lot ... maybe too much for some and the comfortable screen makes a world of difference when you have to stare at it all day because of work (system analyst and constantly emailing with suppliers / etc. ) Battery will last day and some times I will recharge if necessary ... besides what are the external power sources for? super fast processor... I feel spoiled by it! highly recommend it!!!

Coming from an iphone ofcourse you will find this better. and i agree big screen is better than small screens.....But it in todays world recharging a phone is not an option. Its funny.....most phones around 10000 indian rs come with 3000 mh plus batteries that after extensive use still last 1.5 days....that too power use ! heavy.......! thats the world today......since i come from such phones and not iphone i am scared to buy this one.......i mean,..... to see battery percentage drop after playing a game for 10 minutes will be heartbreaking for me.......

You cannot compare with ZTE, OPPO, ZEN, Huwaei, Xioami, leanovo kind of chinese brands... I checked after complete usage of using Asault8 Game, watching youtube, facebook, whats app, Music, online banking, surfing.... you battery comes for one complete day. I started using continuously to test battery power from morning 8.00 AM to night 7.30 PM. Guys, if you start using continuously internet, videos and gaming... obviously your battery power will get reduce. So, it depends up on the usage and the person how he uses the phone... So, don't complain about battery is not good enoguh.. blah blah... Any smartphone is adjusted to stop charging at 100%, so no need to worry, BUT!! Don't leave your phone fully charged or above 90% for a long time as much as you can to extend battery health, good luck.

Nice phone but screen too small . 6.5 inches minimum . Memory too less . 64gb or at least 32gb minimum should be there . I want 100 percent screen to body ratio . Even if there is no earpiece it's ok . ALL screen from edge to edge.

Incredible phone, there is no way back to an smaller screen. That is where all phones are going so why wait for future generations of other phones, just skip them with the XA Ultra. I love it. My wife purchased an Iphone 7 plus at the same time (I paid 1 third what she paid), Today she installed Google Maps... that says it all. Selfie camera is great, although even with less Megapix, the Iphone 7 selfie camera does just as good results. Battery last for a day, but its advised to recharge during the day (vs all night charging from 0 to 100%). Processor speed is lighting fast for day to day use, I only play Clash of clans, I wouldn't know about other games. Design is flawless, whenever I had other phones I kept imagining them without borders around the screen, finally, this one does not have them on the sides at least. My Highest recommendations to this one.

I have this amazing phone from 3 months but I have a serious problem with it. the phone goes in silent mode automatically without my order. and if I try to raise the volume which already high enough nothing happen. I just got this phone. This is the coolest/most afordable phone period. It even has a led notification..Love it. Battery is decent (not the best). It is an entertainment machine. Kudos to Sony. They put one of those undervalued cheap chipset and made it work.
