  • I have using XShot since April2015. Everything seemed fine until recently there is cellular signal reception problem. I don't know whether it's my service provider network problem or phone problem. But everytime I have to reboot in order to reconnect. Switching off and on the mobile data doesn't solve it.

Only thing that makes me regret, it dosent have video call function. You have to use 3rd party app to make video calls such as Viber. Other than that, Vivo is superb!!

  • Hello. I have been using the phone for about 7 months. My experience with it so far was good. Screen - I find that the brightness isn't balance, 30% is too much different from 20%. Quality is great though. Speaker - I don't use that much for music or videos but it sounded clear and nice and quite loud, using a headset was quite good with its Hi-fi. Battery - I am able to get SoT of more than 3.5 hours DAILY since I started using, and that's 2.5 hours of gaming and the rest for daily usage. Mixture of 4G and Wifi. Camera - The name Xshot does seem fitting. The pictures are superb. FunTouchUI - It's actually quite nice. Easy and simple. But i do find that it is still lagging behind other UI's in term of features. They need to work on their notifications. OS - All i can say is that they are slow to update. I'm not even sure if it's getting 5.0 android. Stuck in Kitkat, but it is stable and smooth. Heating - To be honest I don't have any heat issues. But sometimes it gets a little more warm. Quality & Handling - Good quality with its metal sides and plastic back. A little slippery without a casing. Handling was ok, single handed use is good. Graphics - Adreno 330 is still one of the best for me. Processing - It doesn't lag or stutter that much. It does lag when too many apps are opened. Other than that, it is good. You get the specs and quality for what you paid for. Shouldn't complain too much. That's my review of the Vivo Xshot with 7 months of usage. Changed to Zenfone 2 due to lack of updates and stuck in Kitkat.

  • Yeah, it gets pretty hot around the sides since it has a metal frame. It's usually when playing games (even casual puzzle games) for 10 minutes or more. Though, it does cool back down pretty quickly.

  • been using for 3 months plus now.. so far there are no overheating issues for me.. but certain games do make the phone hot but not to the point that would make u put it down.. games like simcity buildit, summoner wars do make the phone heat up but on other games and apps there are no heat issues.. hope this helps

  • I've been using this phone for a week, and I didnt regret spending some money for this phone 1. Great rear camera experience with its 13mp camera, 1.8ap, with features and the pro mode help me alot in taking better picture. The OIS works well. The front camera is far to be underrated. its 8mp camera and flash give wider angle to take picture with more friends. 2. Performance. I dont know how bad you 'maximize' ur phone, but theres almost no lag when using this phone. It can easily heat up, and quiet annoying somehow (when I play injustice, skyforce,beat mp3, etc) but Im still enjoying using that as my daily device. 3.Battery. I think it last for a day and you need to charge it at night. 4. many gestures like airview like in Galaxy S or Note series CMIIW. downs: 1. It's still run on Jellybean 4.3, I use the 2GB RAM version. Come on, Vivo. I really hope that w can get at least the kitkat version. 2. Only available in white version. that make the phoe easily get dirty. Compared to price and its functionality, this phone is worth buying.

  • Writing on my vivo xshot.here comes my review of it. Pros...good display.handling is very good.hold it use it few days and you won't wish to leave it.very fast and no lag whatsoever.sound quality from rear speaker very good but I don't like the speaker placement on the back.sound with the supplied headset is very good hi fi...battery life is surprisingly good. Cons...camera quality with the rear 13mp camera is average...no bragging that it's a camera phone...features are good but picture quality average...front camera is good for selphie. Overall an excellent phone.they needs to upgrade it to lolly pop thats all.

  • Zenfone 2 or vivo Xshot ? Reason not to choose Zenfone 2..... 1. Currency fluctuation probably cause expensive due to delay launch in Malaysia. 2. A lot issue that can find in GSM Arena comment. Reason to choose vivo xshot..... 1. Camera do great job where highly clear image capture in each detail not matter near distance or far distance. 2. Faster focus rate in camera focusing. 3. The differences of China and Malaysia Version Xshot: Camera Voice snapped function is only exist in China version while Malaysia version was replace with Palm snapped which show our palm in front camera to let camera sensor recognize and then snapping.   • Hi All, Vivo X shot is a good mobile on papers, Hence i bought the phone to experience it in real Life. I found that there are few cons along with the pros for this mobile. Pros: Good battery Life, Super fast, Excellent Display quality and excellent camera. Also expandable memory up to 128 gb. supports OTG. Cons: No wifi direct, Although the phone shows wifi direct in the settings but we cannot transfer files thru wifi direct, downlaod speed thru wifi and mobile data is pretty slow as compared to any samsung mobile. I tried to download same file at the same time on two different mobiles with the same network on mobile and wifi connection, but to my surprise all the files got downloaded in less then half the time on the samsung handset compared to vivo. also it loses wifi connection intermittently. Its quiet annoying. I dont seem to find any solution on this, i tried to download couple of wifi boosters but it didnt help. Hence surfing net, viewing facebook and accessing mails becomes quiet tedious and frustrating at times. Other then this there dont seem to be any negative pointers for ths mobile. Hope Vivo sort this out soon on their next upgrade.

  • Just thought I'd update after using this for one month. Simply put, it's a genuinely great phone. I really cannot find fault with it for my needs. It is my daily driver and I've kept it ahead of a Note 4, Xiaomi Mi Note, and iPhone 6. It's really that good. Perfect size at 5.2 inches so not too big or small. Ergonomically excellent - do not underestimate how thin and solid it feels without being uncomfortable or slippery. I can reach all buttons with one-hand which is great. Battery continues to surprise me. I always get 5 to 5.5 hours screen on time from mixed usage (wifi and 3G/4G) over about 40 hours on a full charge. For example, if I pick it up on a Monday morning at 7am, it'll last until 11pm on Tuesday night. The ROM is very customisable and efficient on power. I have the 2GB Elite model but never use all the RAM because it's so light - using about 700mb after startup so always 65% free (unlike Note 4 which used 1.7gb to on startup!). It's fast, too. Never feels slow despite having the 801AA chip. I guess it's from the lightweight ROM. Call quality is awesome. It has a 'crystal clear' option in the settings which really works. Probably the best call quality on a phone I can recall. And then there's audio quality... The rear speaker is good but put some earphones in and it's another world compared to other phones... Amazing sounds... I hear things in my music collection that I'd never heard before. Finally the cameras. Another huge plus point. I won't tolerate average or good cameras as I need to capture pics of my fast-moving child! Simply stunning in speed and quality, and destroys others when it comes to low light and noise. Haven't used the front 8mp selfie much but it's obviously better than other phones - heck it even has a front flash. So, I'm keeping the XShot for a while. It really doesn't have a weakness whereas all others do. A crazy good phone for a crazy good price. Probably the best phone most people will never use. Forget the S6 or M9 - I'm waiting on the next XShot.

  • In fact the battery drain is as low as it gets from a 2600mAh capacity. In daily use this device does not get hot by any means.

  • I picked up the Elite model (2gb / 16gb) version yesterday in China and was able to update OTA from Funtouch 1.16 (4.3) to 1.2 (4.3), then a big 600mb+ update to Funtouch 2.0 (4.4.2). KK build date is 2015-02-09 so it's been out a few weeks already. MINI REVIEW: As for the phone, it's a very nice device with an outstanding camera. Beats my Note 4 for picture quality and ease of use with the dedicated 2-stop button. I think 5.2-inch is the sweet spot for device size: easy to use in one hand whilst being large enough for media and reading. Battery life is 5.5 hours which is excellent from 2,600mAh. Again, compares well to 6 hours from 3,000mAh Note 4 (I know it's 1920 vs 2560). Great build quality and still plenty fast enough (42k Antutu) for my use - genuinely don't need the extra RAM or 12% boost from 801AC. Good price too at 2,400 RMB (~$US385). Overall, if you're wanting an outstanding camera phone that is also really good in other areas, it's a recommended buy. Additionally, whilst I usually prefer grey or black phones I opted for white this time because the black version, despite having a nice pattern, was glossy and incredibly shiny. It's a fingerprint magnet whereas the white is a matte finish so looks fine. There is a slim, transparent case in the box which would help prevent smudges on the black model but it also make it look less nice. And I always go called anyway. Also picked up the new Xiaomi Mi Note for 2,300 RMB. 90% same as my Note 4 so keeping these two, selling the Note 4 for 5,000 RMB and making a small profit.

  • So far no update from 4.3, i got two update thin 2015, but still on android 4.3. I heard rumor in vivo facebook group, that update to kitkat still in progress. You can port FunTouch 2.0 to your vivo that still in beta version, and it will run on android kitkat. But i can only inform you that far, i cant read thai language, and google translate does not help much....

  • i've been using it for almost a month and it's quite good.. i'm using the 2gb ram model but i prefer if it was 3gb ram model.. the battery is surprising, it is 2600mah but it can hold just like a 2800-3000mah battery phone.. i got an average of 4-4.5 hours of screen on time(wifi) with gaming, msging, instagram, and browsing..built quality was great for me..camera was also good with many settings

  • You will likely to accidentally press the camera button at the right lower side when holding the phone. It's annoying. Otherwise the camera is so far one of the best, wide angle with f/1.8 aperture definitely fast.

  • Vivo and Oppo phones look the same and have nearly the same user interface...I am wondering if they are the same company. Anyway in Vivo and Oppo phones video recording has no continuous autofocus, you must touch the screen to focus. It is a SHAME in 2015 ! Especially since those chinese phones are as expensive as Samsung phones.

  • Hi. I just purchased my Xshot last week.the internal memory is 16GB. However the system usage is 7GB.and there is only left 8GB for storage. However, I already add on 32GB ext memory ;)

  • So far so good but a main problem there is no FM RADIO as a common basic tool. It frustrates me when I am going to listen to radio. Therefore would consider to change to xplay3s

  • Internal storage is 16GB but you only actually have about 9GB to play with/ or something like that.

  • The power management or chipset control, is the worst culprit most likely explaining the bad battery issues and overheating.

  • does anybody know about the phone system storage? is it using the whole 16gb or just a small amount like 2gb? i heard the xplay3s only has 2.5gb which is small for me as i play many games. some games can be moved to internal storage but data is saved in phone system storage. need some clarification on this. thanks

  • If you buy 16gb microsd, it will show around 14-15gb space avaliable. In my xshot, it show around 8,9gb space avaliable. So, thats is mean the system takes around 5gb from your 16gb internal memory. It is normal. I also have android that have 8gb internal memory, it show avaliable space just 4gb.

  • Wow, this is great phone. Superb phone, it easily beat samsung sgs4 and lumia 920 in camera side. It has very good battery life also. Pros +camera excelent, one of the best in market today (i would say the best). It has dual tone flash like iphone 6 or htc. It has two stage camera button like in all lumia pureview. It also has OIS like in lumia pureview series. It has f/1.8 ap, no other flagship this day used it. It also has 8 megapixel selfie camera, with flash, only htc desire eye can matched it. And it also very fast when capturing photo, i never seen smartphobe which faster that xshot before. I tried lg g3 and sgs5 liveunit, and those two cant matched speed of xshot when capturing photo. It also faster in HDR mode to capturing photo. +great audio, with hifi, i think xshot one of the best when we pluged it to hifi system. But the speaker not that good, but i think only htc dual speaker and vivo xplay3s is better when listening to throught the speakers +great uI, the most ui i enjoying ui so far is color ui from oppo. But funtouch from vivo is on par with oppo. But color ui more rich features. But i like vivo ui layout better to accomodate fast acsses to silent/bluetooth/multitask/wifi etc. Vivo put that on bottom side, and oppo put it on notification center. +build quality, is superb, with metal frame and high quality polycarbonat. And xshot also slim enough +hardware, snapdragon 801 with 2gb ram, more than enough +usb otg +notification led +knock on/double tap to wake up +great battery life although only 2600, better than some android phone used 3000 battery like zte nubia and oneplus one +great under sunlight +great case in the box Cons - no gorilla glass protection, but vivo claim it used their own anti scratch tech. - position of speaker dissapointed - keyboard not so fun, i change it to swipe keyboard - no dual sim - 4G only 1800, 2100 and 2600 frequency Whatsapp me for Q: +66938583599

  • No, vivo dont have gorilla glass protection. But the sales guy said to me that, they have their own screen protecter tech. I honestly do not know if he lied or not

  • Thanks for your view. I agree most of it, but not about camera. XShot has OIS, and honor 6 dont have it. Xshot also have f 1.8 app, and honor 6 not. The flash also diff, Xshot has dual tone flash like iphone 6, honor 6 only reguler dual flash. It will make huge boost for vivo in imaging. Vivo also had shutter button, it will make it vivo even better. Its ff camera also worth mention, vivo has 8 mpx and honor 6 only 5 mpx without flash. Ff cam of xshot also have f 2.4 app, no mention about it i honor 6. Beside camera departemen, i must say that honor 6 outperformed xshot in generally

  • this phone absolutely about camera. honor 6 got same camera sensor with this phone, and cheaper than this phone. got some pros and cons between this two phone. but i like how this phone use the bottom part, with capacitive button. honor 6 wasted that space. if u see in full spec (not from this site) this phone thumbs down with its screen because honor 6 ips screen made from JDI and scratch resistance. but this phone got better ram freq, and better sd card storage capacity even though that 128gb memory card is SOOO EXPENSIVE. this phone just 2600mah bat, honor 3000mah. but this phone use 801 snapdragon, so it explain why it need only 2600mah, comapare to 8 core kirin in honor 6. if we can combine the goodness of this two phone, we dont need another phone (dont forget add nfc). owh yeah, honor 6 have IR blaster remote function.;)

  • I purchase this Phone a one week ago. This is my best phone ever (in the pass, i have a Iphone's, HTC ONE M7 & M8, Samsung Galaxy S4 & S5 etc). Best android camera, best audio & hi-fi experience, very good Funtouch OS, good specification (Snaprdagon 801 AC, 3gb ram, 32gb rom with SDcard slot to 128gb). Please GSMarena.
