Actually this was an good phone, 5 years i've been using this phone, and it can run so many apps and high graphics game smoothly without lagging, but when this phone is heating, this phone become a bit laggy, overall this was an nice phone for the price

Flashed the custom ROM LineageOS on this phone in order to get regular security updates. It performs well on this phone--super fast. I like that there are four maintainers of the OS for this particular phone, meaning that Lineage support for this phone is unlikely to disappear any time soon. I love it! I like that the battery is user-serviceable and I feel like I got a good deal for a high quality phone and I like that it comes in pink color to express my girly nature.

Just bought Japanese Docomo version of ZR, shipped with 8GB by seller (or Japan) and now flash it to generic (JB, KitKat or Lolipop = Both have tried) and got 32GB use Flashtool after restoring into original Docomo First (dont forget to uncheck Partition, during flashing into J/K/L)..... UMTS/HSPA+ quite fast, some 4G Operator use different band of Japanese Frequency.. I can accept that. As long I have great small (size) phone with reasonable price. I was used Z1 and Z2 Compact 2 years ago..

As not able to hear sometimes on call and even some times speaker does not work while music player is on... But finally i got application called "sound magic" from appstore and by this my phone is again working fine... Docomo's version is called "Xperia A Docomo SO-04e". Built exclusively for Japan. No major differencies. Docomo's logo is on top front, Sony's logo is on lower front; available special edition Hatsune Miku (pretty beatiful). As far as I know, that's all.

I have Sony xperia zr docomo (32Gb version) my experience with this is good I have updated to lolipop 5.1.1 and it is good the battery is little improve and the UI is good too, comfortable to hold the only thing I don't like is the battery is about 3-2.30 hours screen on time (I use YouTube, Facebook,and browsing,and some game), when playing game like Mobile Legend about 10-14 menit battery drain 20% and the front camera is only vga so it not terrible when taking a picture also charging is long 2 hours 30 menit or sometimes it took 2 hours to 100%

This is not a phone. It's a garbage. After few week usage WiFi stopped working completely. Later on I figured that it's not connecting to 2,4 GHz wireless networks, but only connects to 5GHz networks. Bluetooth is not working either, phone can't find any device nor other devices can find it. Luckily, I still got warranty, so hopefully they will replace this crap for a new working phone. Shame on Sony for releasing a phone that has hardware related problems, because software repair did not fixed anything.

After one and half years this phone is useless. The water proofing in charging and 3.5 jack port becomes useless and cannot be repaired as this phone cannot be repaired and only be replaced. The minimum cost for replacement is Rs 10k (as told by service center). As compared to other phones the loudness of call or speaker is very bad.

I also upgraded to z3 compact in 2014 cos the storage capacity wasn't very big, and the battery didn't seem to last too long. However, now I'm using my old phone again cos I accidentally dropped my beloved z3 compact and its touch screen stopped functioning. Well, with moderate use the battery life of zr isn't too bad. It still works beautifully and will be handed down to my hubby after my second z3 compact arrives;-)

I guess people's experiences with the Z's vary a lot. I've had my ZR since September 2013, I've sat on it, dropped it on the floor lots of times, I inadvertently left it next to a heater oven so that it got boiling hot and it still chugs on, there are only minor scratches on the display that you can only see at certain angles if you look closely. I've been meaning to get a new phone tho, mostly because of the measly 8GB internal storage. But other than that, it has served me well for over 2.5 years.

I don't agree, I have been using ZR for 2.5 yrs now and my wife using Z for same tenure, no issues faced for hardware/software ever. As far as service centre support is concerned can't comment as never needed to visit one. I have now upgraded to Z3C due to internal storage of ZR.

Sony xperia zr is a great mobile, its camera is very good, I upraded to my sony to 5.1 lollipop and its performance is great and its video quality is great to view at any angle, this phone is water proof and dust proof. I will say that this phone has great choice to buy.

I used this phone for more than a year.. never had any problems... all updates ran smoothly (this is a rare thing for a Sony phone since each of their updates have some annoying bugs). but one day it started restarting suddenly, and after few reboots, screen went black, wouldnt charge, wouldnt turn on. Sony repair center was asking 100 SAR just to check what the problem is and give a quotation!! i took it to mobile market, none of them could fix it, turns out the motherboard got fried!! this is very bad from Sony!! never going to buy another sony again!

The only problem is the ROM which can be solved by rooting the device And then partitioning sd card. And once rooted try out the dolby and beats for xperia series mod,it is way better than conventional sound system on sony.

Hello good ZR users. The only down side of this powerful and buttery smooth device is the 8GB of internal memory, once the OS is installed you get to use some 4.5GB only. That can get eaten rather sooner if you really use the device. Any app or mod to increase the internal memory? Using the microSD maybe? Any trick? Any rom? For 5.0.2 or 5.1.1 please. Hi Daniel. I own this phone, and yes it is waterproof. It has 2 doors (over the headphone jack and charging port) with rubber on them to keep water from getting into the device. It is IP58 certified - dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes, as listed above. If you are for some reason considering buying this phone, I have been very happy with it for the couple of years I have owned and used it. I would like to upgrade to a new phone, but one of the things that's holding me back is the fact that this phone has a replaceable battery. The back cover pops off and the battery is right there. They don't manufacture the batteries anymore, but you can find some on Ebay. One last note, ever since they pushed the Android 5.1.1 to this phone, I have loved it even more. I did a factory reset, installed the update and the phone is like brand new again. It's fast, takes EXCELLENT photos and I can now transfer apps to the SD card, which I could not do with Android 4.X. My ONLY complaint with this phone now, is the 8GB onboard storage. It's not enough for today's standards. Hope this helps!

Hey ! I also faced same issues. On August, i updated it to latest Android Lollipop OS. And after that i started facing following issues: 1. Calls : wasn't able to hear any voice, audio on earpiece, have to put on speaker or use headsets. 2. Audio : no audio was audible on speakers when i played any Mp3 or Video on cell. 3. Notifications : in Notifications and sound settings, if i want to preview any tone or music, like Alarm tune, or ringtone, i wasnt able to hear them, but Alarm played it when it was supposed to. i sent my cell for Servicing, since it was in Warranty period. I somehow feel that Audio codecs are corrupted in Latest OS updates. lt've been more than 30 days since its gone for servicing. Patiently waiting for its return properly.

I have updated my ZR to Lollipop 5.1.1, 2 weeks ago and it is definitely better than 5.0.2. But can't sure that whether it is better than kitkat 4.4.4. I have installed in proper way. Factory reset and all that. Still stamina mode and low battery mode is NOT effective as they were in Kitkat 4.4.4. I am still testing them. sorry buddy but you can't clean anything if the software takes 3.5gb it means that it needs to. You can't do anything about it :\ get a micro sd card I think you can move apps to sd on lollipop.

Yeah the only thing i see in the update of 5.0.2 is it drains faster than kk even after i reset my phone... so i guess it will not do any deference if you reset your phone but if you notice that the batt drains a lot and heat i guess you have to reset your cool phone...:-)

so i m posting a comment after a long time. now after running Lollipop for a month i m very satisfied with speed and performance and the much needed app to SD. i m now rooted on lollipop with locked bootloader and have dual recoveries installed and as well I have the lovely xposed! so guys who haven't updated to lollipop u must update. to the people who are facing battery drain, do a backup of ur phone with backup and restore app inbuilt and connect ur phone to PC companion and reinstall the Lollipop update, u will loose all the data but u will gain battery performance and since u have taken backup u can restore it!! all the risks are urs, i m just submitting my review, any damage or data loss is urs not mine so do any step with ur own thoughts!! thank you!!

People complaining about the sd card error that it doesn't get accessed when we connect it to comp so let me tell you that it's not a bug neither a fault, it happens with all mobile that provide sd card, it simply that when you connect your phone with your computer it uses sd card and phone provides accessing it only with one device so don't expect to use sd card on both it would be like dividing a body in two parts so it can perform sae thing at two places, now when you move apps to sd card thier some part is moved to sd card and so when sd card isn't accessible by phone ofcourse those apps also won't be accessible, but after sd card is disconnected from computer it will function normally so guys leave stress its very normal

yes charging slow after update and some problems you might encounter but dont panic after 4 to 5 days phone will work normally and do a hard reset after 4 days or after u update and battery drain just like kitkat and before you update do a hard reset...i updated mine and encounter slow changing and drain fast and heat like hell but after few days phone work just fine and i dont regret it because its Worth it love the ui and its faster and smother better than kitkat...and i dont know if anyone notice about the clearness of the cam is kinda improve thats what i notice if you double tap to zoom it is more detailed than the 4.4...and the Gray scale when zooming is reduce dont you think brahs?...

i just update my phone to lollipop...i must say im impress they did fix my front cam prob wifi prob wifi to Bluetooth tethering for now im not facing any issues except for the no silent option and one more thing the ram has improve im getting a 1.3gb free ram sometimes 1.4 gb free ram..and about the not working apps i must say you just have to download again the obb file in playstore and data file...and you will have 3.6 internal mem after updating but it doesn't matter cause you can move the apps to sd cool...and i observe transferring file from internal to sd card is much faster than before thats all for now...

For Battery drain, Try doing a Factory Reset. It's not draining battery anymore especially when idle. It must be a faulty program or something that lives on your old firmware/installation. My phone somehow returned to normal after a reset. ^w^

The internal memory is still the same but the ram improved i think but there is some few features that annoyed me like the google search tab in multitask and when playing a music your lock screen changes into music cover which is ugly because it's pixelated and it cannot be disabled or remove. still monitoring the battery if there is a drainage

Got impatient with lollipop and updated mine i did a hard reset first, the update process took me an hour. but the wait was truly worth it i love the new lollipop ui. The app icon gotten more bigger and the thing i wanted the most was the move apps to sd as a gamer. no issues so far but the only thing that annoyed me was the google search button on the multi task which cannot be removed even if you disable the google search but overall the lollipop update was a fast,smooth,bugfree update(for now)

so you can have a clean update... lets just say you downloaded a apps from Google and without knowing that apps is giving you a hard time or problem and suddenly you update your phone to lollipop...believe me you will end up the same problem as your previous version brah...and you can 100% notice the update of lollipop its self if you hard reset before updating...but its up to brah...

Even I am facing issue with headphone jack in my Sony Xperia ZR. Speaker and Microphone of my phone was not working fine. So I thought it might be a hardware issue and can be repaired. As my warranty period of phone was expired, I had to give my phone for service to a third-party vendor. Phone itself has good specs, fast enough for internet browsing and playing games(it does heat up though). I like the removable battery and SDcard. However, 8GB internal memory translates into 4.52GB available and SDcard is limited to 32GB, unlike what the website says. It's made all of plastic and screen is assembled with double-sided sticky tape. The biggest problem I had was the headphones socket that gets broken easily, phone thinks it is always connected and internal speaker is no longer working. If you're in UK, I advise you not to buy it, Sony UK won't repair it since it's "unsupported" by them. The seller on Amazon ignored me completely although the phone still had warranty. Sony Hong Kong told me they wouldn't support users from other countries so I ended up repairing the socket myself which got broken 2 months later.

Im a big fan of SONY ERICSSON MOBILE. I have used 3 mobile phones of it. But frankly speaking im nt impress by its xperia zr. Camera snap: very disappointed with this part of sony. Photo was clear but its blurred while zooming. So dont ever think abt zoom. If you compare camera 13mp with any Samsung or nexus 5 (8MP). then also you will nt get tht much deep details of the photo. Totally Dabba, Are You know all Xperia Z, Zr, Z ultra etc.. are non repairable phone that means if you have a simple issue related to your any hardware i.e. Earphone, microphone, Bluetooth etc... this is not repairable. they will told you to replace this phone to it's higher version with MRP and considered only 30-40% of your previous phone price. that mean a persons who takes the xperia Z by paying Rs.40,000 they will consider only Rs.5000- 6000(current price Rs.18000*30%) to replace with it's higher version. I am one of the Fan of Sony Xperia and using 2 xperia phone parallely but right know I feel they will cheat customer because this is Sony fault not customer fault.

Buying Sony Xperia ZR was one of the costly mistake i did. The phone works fine for everything except for the very basic thing it is made for. i,e sometimes my microphone doesn't work at all and i have to make the calls thrice to talk to other person. The other party cannot hear anything from my end. I regret buying this shit and strongly recommend others not to buy.

I have this phone since 5 months ago, and this could be the best phone talking about price/quality but I have some problems: the Wifi (it can't be fixed because is a manufacturing issue) sometimes if you press the back cover in the right of the nfc logo will work again but I cannot be sure if that will work for ever, another issue is that the earphone from one day to another didn't work again and I can only make the phonecalls with the speaker turned on. The overheating is a recurring problem, the gps is something that helps on it so if you stop using it be sure to disable it and to close properly all the apps that were using the gps, with this you shouldn't be worried for the overheating. I searched on ebay and didn't find tempered glass so be sure to use carefully the screen because the "scratch resistant" technology is not that effective like Gorilla Glass. I hope that this help other users or people who are thinking on buy this phone, sorry for my english I speak spanish.

Unbelievable phone. Specs are hard to rival in a replaceable battery phone. I'm happy with every aspect of the phone except the screen could be a LITTLE brighter and the internal (8gb) memory is a LITTLE low for KitKat (nothing fatal). Also, it is more than enough for Lollipop. Consequently the Xperia A (SO-04E) is the exact same phone except with 32GB internal. Might get that next unlocked.

I am using this phone for almost 6 months now the phone never lags even when i play games like call of duty or real racing. Camera its seriously not 13mp as it states the picture quality is not that good. The built - its is quite stylish and comfortable but its on a delicate side. The speakers are ok not that great. when i bought it looks prettier and goood..... it works well and good.... but the problem faced is...when i immersed in swimming pool...the water enters in display....but the display and touch sensitivity is normal and working properly.....the slots are fully covered in my mobile.......when i asked for a warranty claim...they told "water doesnt enters neither through headset slot nor charger slot...."they too told that that "water MAY ALSO ENTERS THROUGH THE BACK PANEL OF YOUR MOBILE"........the response of the service centre is SUXX.....so ceep carefull when u guys check for water resistant..... i asked..if waer enters then why u had told that its a water resistant mobile.... they replied me to a answer..PAY US 9500 we will do our best and change u a best display....and touch screen... Guys... just want to share again...before i was so mad because of what i discover about 4.4.2 the transfer file speed decrease i get 3mbps when transfering file to my sd thats 1gb of file so it takes forever and yes batt drains to fast and gets hot a lot just like when im in front of mirror without a shirt its kinda like that...:D but anyway thats why i decide to give the 4.4.4 a shot cuz im hoping that the problem im facing will be fix so i update it last night via ota updae and then yes! Its fix i try to transfer again the same file that i use to 4.4.2and i get 12 to 13mps im using 64gb class10 and everything is perfect batt drains not a lot getting hot ddecreas...im not saying u should update to 4.4.4 if ur not facing any problem with ur phone dont updae cuz u might just get a big problem thats all...

what on earth! i just found out that the 4.4.2 version of xzr file transfer to sdcard from pc or loptop drops!!! before i was using 4.2.2 version when i transfer big file like 1 movie 1.5gb i get 14 to 15mbps writing speed!!!!! but now i only get 5mbps below!!!!!! what the! this is not very good!!!! now i have to remove d sd from the xzr and use a sd card reader just to transfer a file fast...

this is a phone guys a great phone well i should say an epic phone being a phone not a phablet it has its downsides like the small screen and the poor front camera NOT GOOD FOR SELFIE SHOOTERS But THE DEDICATED CAMERA KEY HELPS WITH THE SELFIE but it has its own advantages like the high ppi and the the extremely good back camera which shoots a very good vedio as well as photos tons of features have been added due to the sony social camera and its getting the lollipop update very soon so all seems great this phone is a sturdy one i have dropped it several time nothing has happened to it yet its waterproof it has 2 gb ram the internal storage is a little disappointing but as they say YOU CANT GET EVERYTHING AT ONCE the net build quality of the phone is uncompromised this is a good daily driver and with all rest of the sony features it makes up for an extremely worth the money deal..

Zup! Guys! I just wana share some. Good news and bad news.after using xzr for 4 months the ear speaker stopped working so i went to the sony service center to report the issue of my phone,lucky for me the phone is under warranty so i got a free service, after more than a month of waiting they txted me that my phone is ready for pick up when i came to the service center they told me that they replaced it so i got a brand new unit heres the good news the phone. Is new the bad news the holder of simcard is removed and i thought the version of the phone. Is 4.1 cuz thats the default. Version and i will just updated. It to 4.2.2 which is my fav. Version...but its not. the version of my new phone Is 4.4.2 which. Is kinda i don't. Like cuz i cant move files to sd using the 3rd party apps and play store wont work without enabling the Google services which is consumed a lot of batt. power and before. I get a 1300+ free of ram but now i just get 1100 free ram not good not good...but hey! What can i say the phone is new...thats the good news...:-D

You can revert to 4.1.2 using flashtool. Download it, install the drivers for xperia zr and the flashtool drivers which you find inside the folder. After that download ftf for your xperia and flash it. You can find all the steps on xda forums

in every way this ZR is perfect. also getting the Lollipop update next week by sony.. though i am still on 4.1.2 as i love this os. Camera is superb. storage is no issue once you simple root it. waterproofing comes in handy.battery is removable and have great backup. watching movies and playing games is a bliss on this. also i am using sony BH20 bluetooth stereo in ear headset for awesome music experience. with 1.5snapdragon quad core and 2gb ram its a REAL DEAL. i am a frequent mobile changing person..but since this mobile i have not looked anywhere else.. i am happy and proud to own this amazing piece of art.

Android offers you more control over your device, more app selection etc. Even the common applications such as whatsapp and instagram are not as functional in windows as they are on Android. dude! just compare the specs of the phone the higher specs the better... because all us have good and bad experience of our phone and most of us give the bad experience even we enjoy the phone and has a good quality...and one more thing all powerful phone sucks!!! even it has 4000mah batt!! if you can remove it especially if you are a havy user and gamer... it goes like this non remobable batt + power bank = fun and powerful BUT! if you have extra spare batt + power bank = extra fun extra powerful...:-D

I think you have not seen the specifications so don't complain about water proof, it's water resistant. Then for camera it's nice but not great but much better than those plastics (you know what I am taking about). And last battery, none smart phone battery lasts for a week, so please it's great if it lasts more than a day. Personally I own a zr and I use wifi/Internet for two hours, heavy gaming for two hours and 4-5 calls of 10 mins or more per day and still it lasts for 24 hours and it's stamina mode is really great. Other thing please had you updated your zr to latest firmware it doesn't get overheated, it gets a little warm, as told I am a heavy gamer I play mc4 everyday for an hour or two it gets just a little warm. And I don't oppose you owning any phone because it's your wish to choose any platform and according to my opinion lumia 730 is great in its type but zr is the beast of its range

guys believe me android phones like this is not worth buying for. i myself experienced buying xperia zr and noticed that it so poor in many items. xperia zr is not waterproof, very poor screen technology, poor camera, poor battery and it also overheating when playing games like c.o.c, making calls and others. nonethless this phone is great when multitasking and updating the firmware by manufacturer. Yet i decided to sell it for a "lower" price and decided to migrate in windows phone. Alas! i was so happy buying lumia 730 for a lower price but satisfying user experience. i recommend windows phone for everyone because it is the future of the smartphone and u will never regret it :)

haha, that's the consequence of testing the phone's water resistance too much. there are two things you should have considered before doing that. first the phone was labeled water resistant not water proof. 2nd under warranty it is stated that water damage is not included.

I owned this device for 4 months, here's the story, i bought this last august. i put my zr in to a normal water and wait for 20minutes, and after that its working fine. then next scene was i submerged my zr into swimming pool, took selfie,groufie, swimming while the phone is on my hands, and after all those activities, i noticed that the camera was blured. and i checked the lens of camera, and there is a moise. so i removed the battery and tried to clean, all of a sudden i put the battery back, and after that the phone is not turning ON anymore. the technician told me that the motherboard has been damage due to water. :<

Amongst the 3 u mentioned zr is the most powerfull.Since u r a heavy gamer both moto x nd zr will do the job bt the battery lyf on both are just above average. Avoid honor 6 (best battery but) it has lots of bug as of nw. If i were u i would go for moto x since it has better screen & zr is kinda old nw.so go for moto x :)

on 4.3 onwards you can download themes and pick ones that suits your preference, or if you have root, you can modify each elements and make a totally customized interface design. I don't see much difference between 4.1 and 4.3 in regards of interface and performance. I prefer 4.3 though since 4.1 interface design are somewhat "hollow"

I think this phone is good all-around. Interface is good, no lag at all, especially when I changed the animation speed to 0.5 it feels like I'm running on 3Ghz, no lag, no bottleneck whatsoever. Display is good, at least compared to the Z. I have no problem seeing the screen on bright sunlight with brightness set to minimum + auto-adjusted, and clarity is what you might expect of a 300+ ppi, nice and crisp(depends on your picture/video resolution). And there's very little reflection on screen(quite a feat for an lcd display). Speaker quality is average, and again you can just plug it to a better external speaker or just use your earphone(sound is great with earphone thanks to walkman). The camera is grainy at first but after I took the pic it's as clear as it should be(note: use the camera button it's there for a purpose). So far(about 9 months) no problem with the flaps, maybe it's because I have long fingernails I can precisely open it with minimum force. Battery is good enough for normal usage, with games it usually lasts about 4-6 hour full charged. Gaming I give 7/10, it plays alright, but there are fps drops here & there on heavy 3d games though not that significant(maybe it's just my eyes since I'm used with playing @60fps on PC). Design I think it's better than samsung(This is subjective since I don't like round corners and plastic-y(???) looks). It's sharp, simple, subtle. Simply cool. And price is great too, about 20% cheaper than Z with same spec, plus better water resistance. Sum up this is good, the pros beat the cons.

This phone is so good, I bought it the second time, only chapter where it could improve is: more internal memory, better front facing camera and maybe a higher headphone volume. I gave it a rough time for 1 jr and a half and it survived in excelent condition. USB flab recently went on his own but i got another one from aliexpress.com and will install it in 5 min with the help of an online tutorial. Very good phone at a very good price right now, buy it guys! P.S. Rear camera is really good!

Although the method is safe, i did used the same way, but still i would say, i should not be held responsible for any mishappening to your phone.

The best way to do this is going through safe mode. 1 press switch off button for few second untill the dialog appear for switch off. 2 Long press switch off button, a pop-up will come asking for reboot in safe mode, click yes. 3 phone will now restart in safe mode. 4 goto setting > security > device administrators. 5 untick McAfee. 6 click back and go to app section, search for mcafee in download tab or all tab. 7 now u can uninstall this. 8 after uninstall. Power off the phone and switch on again. It will boot up to normal mode without McAfee.

Good phone, nice screen and fast CPU, replaceable battery and SDcard, but downside low internal memory available, only 4.5 out of 8GB, also apps cannot be moved to SDcard so no big games titles unless you uninstall everything else. Headphones socket broke after almost a year and nobody wants to fix it, phone was bought via Amazon UK and Sony Mobile Support UK says "non-UK handset, we cannot repair it" and Sony Hong Kong (phone's region) says "we don't support users from other regions"... I'm very disappointed by their support.

A lot if useless processes has been freezed and a lot new process goes on due to root apps. when i start my phone i have 1.2 gb free ram and 540 something used. and after using a little bit for an hour it settles like used in 700mb and free like 1gb.

After unboxing, i have updated it to Kitkat 4.4.4. - Still their is hitting problem while charging, also while accessing applications like whatsapp, fb, internet, etc, you can't hold for long in your hand because hitting problem. i am going to visit sony service center. i believe, there is hardware issue. -13 Megapixel camera is good but not upto the mark of Sony standards. it could have been much much better. Low light images not that good. Once you zoom the camera, quality gets deteriorated. - Front VGA camera is ok. you can't expect great quality from VGA camera. -return, home & running apps button on screen seems to be annoying & these buttons on screen have reduced size of screen display. I like phone design, quality, look & feel.I am Sony brand customer having almost all sony electronics equipment at my home. SONY MAKE.BELIVE :)

Hah, i tought i was the only one experiencing issue in the update process. I updated from 4.2.2 to 4.3, then from 4.3 to 4.4.2 without any problems. And a few days back, 4.4.4 came out. I tried updating it to this ver. from PC Companion and got an installation error. I had to disconnect it from PC, cuz trying again didn't work. When i turned on my phone, after SONY logo came a black screen with white letters telling me something about reinstalling the system, or something like that. I freaked out. Went Google-ing and remembered i could try with Sony Update Center. I updated it successfuly

dude, the update will not automatically be installed after download via OTA update... after downloading, you must install it, there's an install button on the right side of your screen... i think it's just approx. 140MB size file and it eill only take maybe 9min to install...

if you are updating via phone and update says couldn't install, as far as i know from my past experiences you need a PC for that update. and if u are not able to update from PC aswell u will need to switch off your Antivirus or any other security you are using, i was not able to update from PC then i switch off my Antivirus and i updated without a problem

towrlroot doesn't work on 4.4.4. u have to do a Lil bit of flashing of kernel of previous version ie. of .230 version and then root via towelroot install supersu and reflash the original kernel. and dont expect an update to towelroot app coz now the guy is an employee of google and his job is to find these exploits. for further info and kernel and flashtool head up to xda. i just updated and rooted the same way as above.

kudos to DevMonkey.ur advice works well.After couple of times failure with ota update i try with pc companion update. installation sucess..pc companion update size is 970 mb.it tooks 10 minutes for downloading update through vodafone 3g.i also enable usb debugging option. my superuser and root privileages are gone.

Turn on stamina mode, and set the white list application that u want it active when the screen is locked, if it's Google play services using the battery more than 60 percent(especially in kit kat) then download application helping to save battery like battery doctor and set kill apps on, and also prepare a white list

There is no problem, Snapdragon processors whether it is 1GHz single core or latest one, processes are always active, so battery is used. For example at Mediatek CPU everything is in stand-by exept phone and messaging application (they have exeptions to be turned off by Android and root task manager) so battery doesn't juice off, but cpu performance is more suitable for non-advanced users (eg. most MTK quad core are powerful as Snapdragon 200 dual core).

Used it for about 8 months already. Love the phone in all aspect. Just one downer is, the water resistant nature of the phone... it can only withstand splash and stuff. not an actual dip. Mine took a dip for about 5mins (less than 1 meter) and even with all ports sealed, got water inside camera lens and underneath the screen.

Xperia Z1c is like a successor of ZR. If you want better viewing angles, better camera, better chipset and better everything, and if your budget accepts it, go for it. Xperia ZR has a 2013 flagship specs, so it's not bad either. It can handle anything now and camera, display are pretty good. So if you want a top notch hardware, go for Z1c, if u want a decent yet fast smartphone that can do anything till date, go for ZR

I am using zr since last 8 months. It is the best smart phone in this budget. Also the kitkat version is too good. It gives me more battery backup,gives new look to album and walkman, it consumes more ram but not more tha 60% so hanging never happens and my camera quality has also increased. So the upgrade is better than older version.
