T-Mobile Prism II - User Reviews

  • Bought one of these for $35 on Amazon which later posted @ $30. I put a Ting sim in it and use it as a fishing phone. Couldn't care less if it goes overboard or gets run over with a pickup tire. Turn it on and let it sit for a few minutes so the minimal ram can load. Does 3G on Ting which is more than I can say for same price point phones. Don't understand the negative comments. Must expect iPhone or Nexus performance from a minimal spec phone. Excellent second phone.

  • instal new rom, but no exist for this phone, i have a cell like this but i can't find the rom

  • The Bluetooth and radio of my prism ii are not working....what should I do ?

  • I rooted my prism2 with key root master mulai root with no pc, worked 1st time, now wishing there was a way ty o unlock bootloader without pc, haven't been able to install custom rom yet, any ideas

  • Good basic andriod phone

  • T-Mobile gave me a Prism II as a loaner while my Galaxy S6 Edge is back with Samsung for repair. Since I'm already not happy with a $952 phone needing repair, you'd think they would have given me something better than this dog as a loaner. I had it for three hours before I called T-Mobile and said they had to do better. This phone is so slow! I haven't seen speeds this slow in a decade, at least. It took 8 minutes to load Facebook, and it sucked down 10% battery life while doing it. The screen is so small it's hard to read a single text message. None of my apps run on it since it's loaded with JellyBean. I seriously hate that my provider would subject me to this.

  • idk wht happened to u guys phones but this is perff... just that the actual volume is really low, have to use earphones

  • hey i need this firmware can you help me with that... my mail is [email protected]... thatnks

  • I want the 4GB memory card,what should I do.

  • I have full ROM for this device let me know if u need it

  • OMG I hate this phone. SOOOO slow! Shouldn't technically qualify as a "smart phone" It's the dumbest phone I've ever had to deal with. DO NOT PURCHASE you will be sorry.

  • i need the rom stock of this device heelllp please thanks

  • This T-Mobile prism II phone is very very slow in nature...It has a poor performance and also no 3G

  • This phone sucks. It's really slow and just a waste of money.

  • I have this phone for over 8 months it works pretty good cant really complain about it.

  • I have only had the phone a week, but works perfectly. Got it as a temporary substitute for old Motorola Cliq that finally went bad after 5 yrs, and I needed 'something' immediately for Thanksgiving week vaca. ...was just checking online now to see actual specs; as considering keeping it as primary (instead of shelling out $500/650 for high-end 'standards'.) This phone is fine, no problems so far and syncs perfectly w/Gmail. Haven't looked at pictures I've taken yet on a big screen, but megapix is small - assuming not so good. Fairly intuitive, but some minor interface things I don't care for.

  • Im on my fifth phone on 3 weeks. Xmobile wont even give me a different phone. This sucks I have a replacement coming tomorrow and the 2 replacement from last week I mailed back on Monday havent even got arrived back at warranty department yet.

  • Had it for nearly 5 nonths-works well no problems for such a low priced device.

  • I have used this phone over to years and it is still strong no problem, I will advice everyone to get one

  • I have had this phone for over a year, and originally it was fine but after a year or actually after a month I have become so sick of this phone. It lags, freezes, shuts off etc. But that's what you should expect from something so cheap. This was only meant to be temporary at best.

  • Please how do u hard reset the product after too many pattern without Gmail accout

  • Ugggggggh. That's what I have to say about this phone. I've had it for a while now and I cannot take it anymore. I'm about ready to throw it against a wall or light it on fire. And I'm serious about that too. Camera is terrible, slow as fudge, etc. do not buy this phone.

  • This phone is a real piece of junk...I hace to tap the screen several times for it to respond.I have to hold the web address link until a pop up window ask me if i wanna open ect. It is slowwww as well. My other phone by net10 umx out prformed this phone by far and it was cheaper.I have had this phone 2 weeks and about ready to send it back and buy and completely diff phone. avoid hauwai phones!!!!

  • This phone looks pretty and has a nifty feel, but it has a lot of problems. For one thing the web browser stinks! It always freezes up and either stops or just bring you back to the home page. I have to keep all my apps in the home page, because when you press the app button sometimes it will freeze up and give you the loading sign. Another problem is the keyboard a lot of times it just won't come up during texts or surfing the web. And the communication is also another issue. Sometimes it never receives texts or calls and sometimes when your making a phone call it will just hang up. Overall I wouldn't recommend this phone as it is difficult and very frustrating to use it's also not cheap, so if your looking for an inexpensive smart phone I would suggest chipping in a little more money and investing in a better phone. The only good thing about it though is that it's quite durable from drops and it has a reasonable battery life.

  • Real junk will not keep appointments, wake up, only rings S sometimes. Turns off appointment timer. real junk. And the signal booster wont work. And don't expect any help.

  • i refer to this phone as "baby's first smartphone" due to it's middling specs. A starter phone, if you will.

  • Help

  • Can anyone help me unlock the boot loader on this phone while using a Mac? Desperate need of some help with this U8686

  • It is a good phone. It more advanced with a good camera quality. When I first got it the browser was slow but now it's working faster. It also has a large memory, so u can download many apps.I love this phone.:-)

  • it keeps crashing everytone I play a game. I was playing a game and my stupid phone stopped working, and it says it has 11 hours of battery it died in 4 hours. if you ever get this phone shoot it. I am stuck with it for 1 year.

  • Worst phone ever owned camera sucks ass low space bad phone quality i lit my in fire and put it in the microwave hit it with a hammer and throw it at my wall get a goophone cheap to so to sum it up this phone is the worst phone to date

  • I said that already. I have the Huawei version.

  • This might seem like a shity phone but turns out it can be pretty cool. Here are my steps to transform it: 1.backup phone 2.unlock bootloader (after install CWM recovery) 3.restore backup and root 4.overclock processor to 1 ghz 5.get a swap file to work with it. 6.installer golauncher-ex This is what i have done with myne and everything seems to be just fine. It runs really smooth now. I dont take responsibility if u break ur phone doing any of these steps

  • This phone is a piece of garbage all it does is crash every min everyday I'm ready to throw this crap against the wall they shouldn't even have the right to call this a "smartphone" just to play music is a hard time I hate this phone

  • Isn't this a Huawei phone?

  • Huawei ascend y210 is a better version of this phone except for operating system and camera

  • im having the same problem i kept returning it 3 phones in 2 weeks, i was told its the software the phone does suck

  • This phone suuuucks! I got it for Christmas brand new and within a day the phone starts to act up. I ended up exchanging it for the another one that was also new and it acted up right away. Apps are always crashing for no reason the phone is super slow the little keyboard doesn't even show up sometimes and there's times where i can't lock the phone so i have to take out the battery. I still have it sadly but if there's any way to fix all that please tell me.

  • go to Samsung as you got it new or if it has been on the original carrier most likely tmobile then call them last option for me anyway download gsm calculator in torrent and unlock it easy fix

  • This also known as the Huawei Ascend y210 in the caribbean and other parts of the world. It runs on Android 2.3.6 and it is 20g heavier than this. It's a good phone though.

  • I have been having the same Problem and it sucks. The phone has been Forwarding all of my calls.

  • i bought this phone two weeks ago ....... i want to unlock it ,to take my local sim card but i cant do that ..... who can help me unlock it

  • I've had my Prism II for about 5 months. It worked great for about 1-2 months. Then ... I keep having trouble viewing pictures on Twitter. Have tried everything. Touching camera in Twitter told me my SD card was not loaded properly. It seems to be fine. Anyone have this same problem.

  • I purchase the prism 2 about 5 months ago and I've had problems with dropped calls, slow function and no service to make or receive phone calls. It's noticeably slow when you are just making a call. I get people that tell me they call me but I don't even have a missed call. I purchased this phone for simple functions such as calling and texting. It's failing so much I'm over it. I have also just yesterday have not been able to use it since the touchscreen screen is not working. There goes my cheap phone. I should've gone with the flip phone lol. Everyone please research before buying!!!

  • what service will you use?

  • What carrier did you put it? Best deal ever, $49 unlimited voice, text and data (4GB at 4G). Without contract. Check it out: myphonepaysback period com

  • Hello: I bought it one month ago, i think it is a good, very good phone for the price, it is fast, great design with a lot of useful features, it has integrated 4 to 5 diferents sensors, i use it sometimes to make some programming using APPs it works fast and perfectly, maybe it needs some options like a botton to save conversations, i think it has no speed dial. THIS IS A POWERFUL MINI-COMPUTER Good luck everybody Felipe R Valera, Miami, Cuba

  • I just bought it and I have no problems. I had it for 4 days and I just love it for work and pleasure. It's great for the money. It's does most of what the expensive one's do.

  • Damn....seems to be the trend these days. I wanted to buy this as a backup phone since I have a LG L9 P769 with similarly locked bootloader. Can you at least root it? Soneone may give me their Sidekick 4G anyway. It's stuck on Froyo but at least it's unlocked.

  • Just bought one but will not have signal even though I live within 4 blocks of signal poles. I have to use WIFI and service provider had no clue why is not operating correctly and have no plan to find and fix the problem. I already had too many problems in just one week of purchase than the entire ten years with my old Samsung device. What a shame. Will not recommend to anyone including my enemies (if any).

  • The Prism II (Huawei U8686)'s bootloader is locked, so no CWM, TWRP, custom ROMs, or nandroid backups.
