T-Mobile Revvl - User Reviews

  • This phone is a piece of junk. I had mine for a month. It took 10 to 25 times to hit send to send a text. You may or may not be able to call someone or receive calls. I had to do a warranty replacement and it is worse then the first one I had. Now being told I need to do another warranty replacement. T Mobile does not want to admit it's junk and will do nothing to make it right. They also told me I'm the only person that had a issue with this phone.

  • I have found for 2 months that this phone is a piece of junk. If i have to turn it off, it does not want to come back on. I found that it lose it my maps and directions for me to follow to get home. At first I thought it was the app, but it is actually the phone itself T-Mobil should not even sell this phone to anyone. They need to trash it in the trash can. The worst phone I have ever owned.

  • I agree with everything you said I hate this phone also!😠

  • Sorry that you hate your phone but that's the most amusing review I've ever read. Definitely won't buy that phone. Thanks for the laugh!

  • I hate this phone more than I've hated anything in my life. A red hot, seeing black, hate that comes from hell itself. It will not let me use a launcher of my choice. If i download one, it will ask me EVERY SINGLE TIME I click on anything, which launcher to use- no matter what i assign as my home launcher. It will not keep a wallpaper of my choosing, going back to the ugly stock wallpaper 5 seconds after I assign a different one. It will not keep me logged into Facebook, Google, any of them. It freezes. ALL THE TIME. It takes 10 minutes to wait for it to work through whatever so you can reboot- which takes forever. The camera is worse than crap and takes so long to pull up that you miss your shot, without fail. It changes your settings all the time, randomly. Nothing stays the way you want it to. I am constantly reprogramming my preferences. It does not sync correctly. Basically, anything you expect a phone to do because it is basic phone shit, this phone will not do, and it will undo whatever you do to try to make it useable. I hate this phone. HATE IT. Whoever designed this phone should have a special place in hell waiting for them. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE. I have lost years of my life due to the stess of just trying to make this phone do basic things. It is the devil.

  • I just got my T-Mobile REVVL for about 3 weeks now. I haven't had any issues at all except I can't find the pictures I save to my phone from Facebook etc. I know there is a way just got to figure it out. Other than that I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones that have no issues. I actually really like mine. I previously had a LG stylus. I like this one just as much. Good picture quality, apps work fine (only a few ad pop Up's) , no freezing issues, good storage space, ( hate the enomjis , forgot that one!!) Battery percentage fine, no heat issues. Overall good phone & would recommend if you want a good phone on a budget! :)

  • Trash, has terrible wifi connection, tells me that apps that I haven't even opened for a week aren't responding, has a terrible battery, and lags like hell. Would not recommend

  • My mom got this phone for me back when I was in 8th grade for Christmas, it's gonna be almost the second year I have it but now it has problems with the volume and power button, it sometimes gets to hot that I can't even use it for school and in one case you could where burnt marks were left on the screen, I've told her this phone has some major software problems and others in general but she doesn't believe me. I'm scared that this cheap piece of garbage might blow up

  • I've heard about a lot of software related problems with this phone, but this thing has structural problems too. I got one and ALL of the buttons didn't work, and so I tried to reassemble the button assembly. That didn't work, and when putting it back together, screwing the screws for the frame in CRACKED THE SCREEN. I knew this was suspicious and bound to happen, especially since before I opened it, there were pressure points all across the screen where the screws are. This thing isn't worth repairing.

  • I had a revival plus and had a warranty replacement. Second phone sucked too. I went into a mobile store today. They were awesome, wonderful. Can't speak highly enough about the lady at the store and her manager. I firmly but nicely told them" nope this phone sucks!! Get me a new phone or I will go to any other carrier". The people at the store were flat out " yep it dose". The young girl spent over and hour on the phone with customer service arguing that the phone flat out sucked. Her manager even complained to the superiors boss because they were not going to " jump my phone" I got my new phone today, because T-Mobile in fact knows the phone is horrible!!.

  • As it turns out my daughter bought this phone just two days ago while in Chicago. The phone added an extra hour to her trip home because it kept losing GPS. She filmed her husband performing a show, and the video focus was all over the place and there is no stabilization of any kind. Half the video is garbage. The phone overheats even when it's cool outside and doing nothing, yet I can take an HTC U11 and play Riptide GP2 in the blazing sun on a 100 degree day at the beach, and it never overheats. Been there, done that. You get what you pay for.

  • TMobile revvl plus Horrible phone. I've had 3 in the last year & not one works correctly. I've had so many problems. Photos always come out blurry & I've had to deal with rebooting the phone several time a day. It gets stuck or moves slow. I've even sent it back & got one from the insurance still same problem. I've spoken with several agents from TMobile who can seem to pin the problem. I've also had 3 brand new SIM card put in over several weeks & still problems are not solved. Agents say they will call back when they find a solution you don't hear back from them. You call back for an update & they have no idea the problem & there you are having to explain the same thing for the hundredth time still to get no where . An agent even said he would speak to the company who makes revvl & than he never called back. So frustrating Don't buy this phone you will be extremely disappointed & annoyed!!!!!

  • All getting only 2g on a unlocked T-Mobile relvv. This phone is bad for roaming

  • This is the absolute worst phone I have ever purchased, when I upgrade, I am definitely smashing this brick, probably inside the TMobile store that sold me this trash lol. Some dude told me this was just as good as a galaxy s6, this is slower than my budget Alcatel phone in 2012. Every day i use it it feels like it gets slower and slower. This pos often crashes just by pulling up the keyboard. THIS THING IS COMPLETELY UNUSABLE.

  • I'm having wifi connection issues I have it connected and then it switches to Regular Data instead of staying connected to WiFi any help please???

  • I've had this phone for 2 years - no problems works well

  • My mom and I purchased this phone one year ago and we are completely pleased, never a problem. If others phones crash, it could be that many things are open at the same time. I am a happy customer.

  • I have had this phone since like May......IT SUCKS! The phone freezes all the damn time and its just annoying and it gets extremely hot and then I have to restart it and I'm just glad I'm getting a new Phone cause I wouldn't know how I would deal with this for a month.

  • The revvl plus is the worst cell I've ever bought . Aps open on their own, a particular ap keeps crashing and one cannot schedule a Text message. I am disappointed in my phone! As soon as I am able. I will replace it with something better. I hope.

  • I don't get the complaints. This phone works great for me. No crashes, no freezing, no random app opening unless I accidentally touch the wrong spot. If anything I can only complain about T-Mobile trying to upsell the Name ID feature which will open up as a full page every other reboot.

  • Bad to the bones. They offered me a refurbished one of those T revel and I refused. They need to recall, recall, recall I ate this phone and all my family and friends. They don't even want to call me. This is bad, real bad

  • Worse phone I have ever had. I can't see how T-MOBILE could feel comfortable selling such a piece of junk. Between this piece of crap phone, and the poor service, I may as well do without. T-MOBILE will soon be losing my business, unless something changes soon, and I'm sure, I won't be the only one

  • I have had to put up with his phone for several months because I can't afford to buy a new one. Aside from apps crashing ALL THE TIME, even when I'm not using them, my biggest complaint is the GPS. I work several jobs, they often take me to cities I'm not familiar with, so I have to rely on my phone to get me home quickly and safely. Can't do that with the Revvl. It will CONSTANTLY lose my location and take a very long time to "find" me again. I've had to resort to dusting off my old navigator for back up for when my phone inevitably decides to stop working. Apps crash all the time even when I haven't even opened that app that day. The screen will freeze, especially when I get an incoming call, so I can't answer it! Terrible phone! Would not recommend! I'm replacing this piece of junk as soon as I can!

  • Well I lost my good Samsung Galaxy during our move so I needed a phone in a hurry. WOW, I picked the worst phone on the planet. It changes screens randomly all day long even when you are on it, disconnects calls, reboots itself, sometimes the sound using the GPS works sometimes not, it's a crap shoot. I have to keep looking at my phone for directions because the sound stops and that defeats the purpose of the hands free, I'm gonna die using this phone. And the newest issue is the voices on the podcasts are running so fast I don't know why or how to stop it. I can't even listen to my podcasts, they sound like chipmunks. : {

  • I guess I'm one of the few people that got lucky. We moved to T Mobile and I got there version of the Blade Zmax and gave that to my son. It was only 6 months old. The specs. are stronger , yeah the look and feel is cheaper, but it's the same thing. They couldn't have given all the good ones to the same neighborhood. I think everyone saw its specs and felt jipped. So it didn't perform like an S9 plus. Is that what everyone expected. REALLY?

  • I have this crap phone also. T-Mobile just sent me a re-furbished one yesterday but it looks like it's not going to be an improvement. Anybody know what can be done ? Why won't T-Mobile recall these losers ?

  • Biggest piece of junk i have ever owned. You have to reboot at least twice a day. Phone looks up a lot. I like my $19 8 mg coolpad better. i thought I was getting an upgrade. What a joke.

  • Please, please, please do not buy this phone. We have had a Revvl and Revvl Plus for six months now and nothing but problems. Mostly with Wifi which keeps dropping and T-Mobile coverage is extremely sporadic and GPS can never find a signal. Take it to T-Mobile and all looks well and working. Never again.

  • Horrible phone. Lags on all apps and phone, camera too. Randomly opens apps, freezes constantly. Rebooting all day long. Not good for business!! I'm losing customers due to frozen pages! Do not buy.

  • T-Mobil is the worst sold me a bill of goods lied to me and will not make it right and if I quit them that will sue me for my phones an remaining service sounds like bait and switch to me absolutely the worst co. I have ever felt with need more sites to air their misgivings am also noticing my states AG with this complaint absolutely the worst that should be ashamed

  • This is a crap phone. It's going to get me killed in my car. I'll be using Google maps. I have to turn off handsfree or I can't hear the audio. It randomly will engage handsfree mode. It will go into airplane mode and disconnect business calls. It will skip from one WiFi to another as I'm traveling. It's the worst POS phone ever!

  • DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! it is terrible! It seems like they just put together parts left over from old phones. I would have taken it back but didn't realize there was a 14 day period to return.

  • worst phone ever. I had problems from day 1 but waited past the 14 day return period because I didn't know T-Mobile only stands behind products they sell for 14 days. They offered to exchange for warranty and new phone is the same. It opens apps by itself, it lags all the time, if you want to take a pic you open camera and wait more than a minute for the camera to open then you take the pic and the shutter may activate in 3 to 20 sec. I drive rideshare and I miss requests because you tap the screen and nothing happens . Can't even always answer phone calls. The caller hangs up before I can open phone app. Been back many times and the service people always try to help but the decision to not stand behind products has been made above their paygrade

  • So i broke my old budget phone and my mom got me this and I have to say, this phone is horrible. First i hate the annoying constant lagging. The battery life is not great. Camera is not the best and games are horrible on this phone. Since this is the best phone I ever got even though it is bad. I dont recommend this at all and now I have a s6. Guess its decent.

  • The Revvl Plus Is An "Ok" Phone. Just don't download PUBG. Great Battery, Amazing Storage. 1080p60fps love it. The Camera and Emojis are my only complaint

  • This phone is hands down the worst phone I've ever owned!!! It's constantly freezing and lagging!! It's got storage space but what's the point I can't even play slot machine hammed without it stalling and just ruining the whole experience!! There's tricks on you tube to speed up the phone so as to play certain games or to speed up the phones overall performance and it's a sham, there's nothing you can do to fix this phone besides throw it in the trash!! The 2nd day I owned this phone it crashed so many times and I got so frustrated I punched the screen and it shattered and now I'm stuck with a broken screen, and God forbid if you wanna take a picture in any kind of spur of the moment type situation the second you click on the camera is the same moment that your phone decided to freeze for a good 45 seconds to more than a minute, I have to restart my phone sometimes 8-9 times a day I would never allow anyone I know but this phone not even an enemy!!

  • First off, I've been with T-Mobile for 18 years, love them! But I got the Revvl first day released! Huge mistake! Constant freezing, opens things I don't, camera is awful, charging port doesn't work, I will never buy anything but a Samsung again! Jus sayin 🖤

  • Easy decision, for me, since even the T-Mobile rep in my nearest store recommended against buying it. When he told me it was actually made by Alcatel, I said "That's all I need to know. Thanks."

  • I don't get it. Only problem I've have with my Revvl Plus is that it will randomly scroll to the very top of my text messages. That's it...

  • Worst Android I've ever came across . I'll try to keep it short and sweet . Main problem which I see others also have is the connection issue. Some days I only have to reboot my phone once to regain connection weather 4g or wifi, while other days I have to reboot 3 to 4 times throughout the day. Also random apps open -- I could force close all apps and hit the switch app button and I'll have random apps I don't use opened. (Was literally scrolling the YouTube app on a vid and a game just launches on its own). The battery is decent (sometimes). Camera is super grainy and has no shake reduction when snapping pics so you have to super still for a good shoot.

  • This phone is by far the worst phone I have ever bought. It is constantly freezing up. It also keeps putting my wallpaper to the default. The only thing I have found that's good about this phone is the storage space and the large screen. I have read so many reviews about the T-Mobile Revvl and they all say the same thing. Why hasn't T-Mobile done a recall on these phones? Is there anything we can do about this issues? T-Mobile NEEDS to do something ... I mean for 200.00 bucks they got to fix the problems with these phones or people need to start turning to the better business bureau!! I am sure if there is enough complaint s with the BBB then T-Mobile will do something to rectify these problems!!

  • i'm un Togo, my phone connexion doesn't grow to 3g. Can somebody help me. if i reboot it i see this message: the sim card you have entered doesn't support all the features of this devices

  • I hate this phone! Trouble from day 1. Crashes constantly. UI crashes daily. Freezes up if trying to watch a video. I get the black screen of death on a frequent basis. Can't wait to dump this pos and get an iPhone. Won't be buying it from T-Mobile!

  • @Braden --Bad-- >There are several issues, the largest BY FAR is the fact that its connection never stays. We have 2 in the house, mine I can reset the connection 90% of the time by putting it in airplane then back out, but for my wife she has to reboot the phone 90% of the time for connection to be re-established. That is on 4G and multiple Wi-fi networks. Not to mention her Bluetooth stopped working quite some time ago. --Good-- >The only good thing about this phone (the reason we bought it) was for its internal space which was far better than the cheepie 8gb we had before. But we have been debating if it is worth it or not. >The screen size is nice. >The speed is good for its price.

  • And why is it bad? I have the plus and it's the best phone I have ever had. I did a benchmark on the CPU, and it is identical to a Samsung Galaxy S7

  • I have had like a million phones in my lifetime. I've also had at least three T-Mobile revvl phones. This is the worst phone I've ever had. I feel like they we're working on it but couldn't figure it out and then just gave up and just sold it. There are so many glitches, it freezes up all the time, and it definitely will not send picture messages. Which is what I paid for. do not get this phone unless you want to hate your life. I mean seriously, it's a piece of f****** s***. If you get this phone, you are signing the certificate for your own misery

  • I do like my TMobile service and the reps have been wonderful. But this phone sucks. I can't enjoy my apps because as soon as I leave the home screen it freezes. I wouldn't recommend this phone

  • I have had mine for 2 weeks it's awful. It freezes everytime I leave the home screen

  • Crappy phone in general. I like the large display area but agree that it is glitchy performance at best. Phone turns off for no reason. Calls my voicemail by itself while I am already on another call and plays messagesthat both I and other party can hear. Camera start up is so slow I miss photo ops regularly. In my own home it is the only device that loses my wifi signal on an almost hourly basis.

  • The WORST phone I've ever owned. I've had it under a month and the problems grow on a daily basis. I have tried everythibg to get it to work properly. I thought I had done my research before getting the phone - next time I'll read the reviews from people who use the phone daily (not just tech sites that that try it out to give it a review). The phone is so bad that I'm using an old phone to write this! Where do I start with the list of problems (there are so many I know I'll forget some) - the phone just shuts down for no reason - apps constantly crash - phone freezes all the time - occasionally the phone rings but the screen is black (no way to answer a calls) - apps take forever to load (if at all) - the camera is so slow to start up you miss out on the picture you wanted to take or you take the pic, the phone freezes and the pic is lost - settings change in their own... That's a partial list but I'm sure you get the idea. Even if you reboot the phone (which usually solves some problems) it doesn't help. I'm so disgusted I'm ready to just walk away from T-Mobile and their crappy phones for good!

  • Unfortunately YOUR phone isn't "defective" - it's a POS phone - I know because I too have some of the same problems and more!! I wish I had read more reviews from real people (not just tech sites). I've tried everything I've read to try and fix some if the problems and nothing has helped. I'm beyond disgusted with the phone and the way T-Mobile doesn't seem to care!!

  • Quite honestly I wish those were the only problems I had with my Revvl Plus (sarcastic). I've had mine for less than a month and the list of problems is growing daily!! Absolutely the WORST phone I've ever owned!!

  • I have had nothing but problems with this phone!! The clock will just stop so therefore I have to power it off and restart it. I'm now finding that callers in my contact list comes up a "blocked" and of course upon learning this from my callers I go in to unblock their numbers to find that they're reblocked!! THIS IS THE WORST PHONE THAT I'VE EVER HAD. TOTAL TRASH

  • Like the phone but performance is horrible got the cell spot it doesn't work good for this phone constantly have to reboot. Any help would be great. My wife has a lg Stylo and it works alot better

  • I bought two revvl phones two months ago; the regular and the plus. These are the worse cell phones I have ever had. Nothing but issue after issue, from calls going to voice mail right away, to no one can hear me on calls but I can hear them, many other issues, I have spent hours on the phone with technicians who can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong. The phones are cheap, for a reason. If you don’t mind missing calls, not being able to make a call, or spending hours and hours trying to figure out what’s wrong with your cell phone then this is the phone for you.

  • I am a T-Mobile fan but this Revvl Plus leaves a lot to be desired. Issues: can't use phone unless it's on speaker. Constantly crashing. UI crashes. Browser crashes or freezes then crashes. Arbitrarily turns the do not disturb on so you can't get calls until you notice and put it back. Crashes causes phone to reset do your wallpaper disappears etc. This is my second phone in 4 months and I am waiting for the third replacement phone to arrive. I will never ever willingly purchase a crap Alcatel phone again.

  • I like the phone but GPS doesn't work. Constantly losses signal and often shows my location in wrong place. I got a warranty replacement phone but it has the same problems. I decided to go high end and just ordered a Pixel 2 from Google. I hope it works out well

  • I bought a Revvl for my daughter. She could not group text and then the screen started to fail. It was under warranty, so I thought "no big deal, get all fixed at one time." When new phone arrives, T Mobile charges me a "Warranty service Fee" of $22. BS! Is there a warranty or not? There should be a zero dollar fee, perhaps GIVE me something for the hassle. Last T Mobile phone and new carrier in near future.

  • In one word: Sucks! It worked for 5 months, then one day decided to not let me answer calls anymore. Incoming calls would ring away, while the phone showed me a totally black screen. As I write this, it has been 38 days since the phone died, and I'm still waiting for the warranty replacement after conversing with 22 different T-Mobile contacts, several on multiple occasions. Unacceptable.

  • I have had the REVVL plus for not even a month. Get tons of pop-up ads, in the middle of reading a text, watching a Netflix movie, reading a news article. Have been to two stores and talked with 10+ people about the pop-up ads, and no one knows how to get rid of them! Don't want another identical phone, want a brand have heard of; like Samsung, but I am past my 14-day trial period, and am stuck. I truly feel my phone is defective since no one can help me. Who can I complain to?

  • Radio works out of the box. Just use headphones as an antenna.

  • Im looking to jump to a phone with am fm radio. so did the radio work from day 1, or did you need to set it up first.

  • Find "THsoft" rounded corner app, and "Another Widget" calendar Widget, and Nova Launcher, and Pixel Navbar, and you have yourself a free Pixel 2 XL interface.

  • For t he money it's a pretty amazing phone. No problems with it and it does things that I wish my iphone did. When you get an emergancy text it reads it to you. Lots of phone for the money

  • I have had this phone since early Sept. We have developed a love-hate relationship. I love the feel, the LTE performance (connects on bands 4, 2 and 12), including VoLTE, and HD voice over WiFi, it can be a hotspot,. Adding a mem card can be used two ways: either as separate storage, or invisible expansion of the internal storage. What I hate about the phone is that it bogs down really quickly when trying to multitask. And the USB C connector is really finicky. It lets most of my USB cables fall out when just turning the phone over, only a couple stay connected securely. Also I find it really annoying that if I forget to turn off the screen before putting it in a pocket, not only does it butt-dial, but it deletes app icons, starts them, re arranges my screens and that sort of random crap. no other phone I have had does that (this replaced a OnePlus One.)

  • Had the phone a couple of months now and have been pretty pleased with it except for one major problem. Understanding that it could be a little slow being a budget phone it certainly isn't the fastest but it has been OK. Where I have run into a major problem is with the GPS capability. The phone is so poor at acquiring and keeping my GPS location that navigation apps like Waze and Google Maps become useless, they constantly search for location or give slightly off locations that the navigation app then tries to navigate back to where i am currently, very frustrating. Multiple tech support calls with TMobile finally resulted in the admission that the antenna in the Revvl is not as capable as higher end phones and the best I could do is reset GPS cache and nav app cache every time I try to use it, sure.....

  • Even if you're issuing 2a charger, if you're cable isn't fast charger Cable, your phone will notcharge fast. Mak sure to use fast charger usb cable as well

  • It does not have quick charge, but charging overnight, it lasts more than a day easy. I've never seen it go below 30% after a full day.

  • Mine takes forever to get charged. Even though the charger is 2 Amp.

  • Some interesting facts about this phone: - The loudspeaker is front-facing (at the bottom) - It has an FM Radio - Nova Launcher makes it look just like a Google Pixel - Power button has a nice texture on it - Front selfie flash (the notification LED has a dual mode)

  • Compared to other $100 phones I've seen, it's rubbish.

  • Compared to other $100 phones I've seen, it's rubbish.

  • Lol, for my 16 yr old son it's perfect

  • It aint that bad...

  • Those people should find a different $100 phone because this phone is absolute rubbish.

  • I cracked my screen on the revvl does anyone know if it's replaceable

  • People who don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a high end phone will like it. Not everyone buys high end cars, PC’s, TV’s, etc.

  • Nobody asked for this phone, so there. I hope it comes extinct.

  • In display settings "MiraVision" will let you adjust the screen temperature to be warmer. My previous post said the colors were too cold... I didn't realize they could be changed in the phone's settings. It's still not a great screen but this really helps.

  • I picked this up today as a temporary replacement for my broken phone. $125. I'll be using it until I decide which flagship phone to get next. First impressions: The front actually looks like a high end phone. I even got some compliments. The back looks cheap, but it's a removable door, so I wonder if someone will eventually make swappable battery doors for this phone. The battery is nonremovable and is taped and screwed in. It looks possible to replace it, though not easily. Looks like vanilla Android UI mostly. Running smoothly. Some T-Mobile bloat but not much. Screen viewing angles are bad. It's okay looking straight on. The whites are too blue for my eyes. I would suggest the app "Twilight" (or similar) which is good for warming up the tones on any cold LCD screens. Camera is not that great so far. Still messing with the settings. Sunlight shots were acceptable. This is the biggest drawback to most low budget phones. So far it seems like a pretty good value if you need a backup or secondary phone.

  • The price is right. The price is very good for someone looking for a basic phone to do basic stuff like make calls, texts and maps. Maybe not for someone who is all over social media and you tube and facebook and amazon prime and take a lot of pictures and listen to music all at the same time.

  • @Rex Tech, check your facts before posting. The Phone is $125 not $185. Plus the phone is well worth the $125. You simply can't get too many phones at all in this price range with 32gb of storage, Fingerprint sensor, and Android 7.

  • Price tag of 185 ? This phone is not even 70$ worth.
