By the way, I already sold my Mi 8, and now using Black Shark 2, coz I'm more on gaming. If you want more on camera, Mi 8 is just enough, or if you have more budget, you can go for Mi 9

  • i will recive this phone in 1 or 2 days and i will write a complete review when i used phone and it will be good as i'm a pro user. but the thing i want to say now is about lack of 3.5 mm jack and i found the solution. you can easily buy a type-c to type-c + 3.5 mm adapter at cheap prices and do charge and listen at same time however as it is not safe to use charger and earphone same time (it causes electric shock and damage both user and phone) most phones are removing 3.5mm jack as apple did.

  • I Bought My First ever Xiaomi product a month ago understanding that it is among the top 10 gaming phone of the time. But it has Disappointed me. 1. Phone heats up until 54 to 56 maybe more degrees while playing game because this is the temperature I had checked after closing the game application. 2. Apps crash in between 3. No option for screen capture 4. Camera I am least bother about 5. For games u need headphones. 6. Sound while playing is lost in Bluetooth and headset and is available only on phone speaker No customer service center in my town and I m helpless how to fix this hardware issue.

  • Your comparison is full of flaws. I especially enjoyed the arbitrary numbers you came up in regards to frame rates comparisons between the devices. Also, you and others who are fans of the Black Shark like to say 256gb of memory is good..... yeah, the Black Shark model with that amount of memory is about a thousand US dollars. Meanwhile you can buy basically unlimited storage memory for the Razer Phone via sd cards that are dirt cheap. The whole comparison is moot anyways as Razer Phone 2 is coming out and is better than the Black Shark in every way.

  • Plastic insulates heat, it doesn’t conduct it or dissapate it well at all. Metal does both very well. I think you are confused.

  • It shouldn't get hot because it have water cooling same as pocophone, Don't expect too much but its definitely good. Still, any device gets hot depending on the game, graphic quality & how long you play. in pocophone it most likely get slightly warm while long gaming. this phone should be the same.

  • Black Shark if your focus is on specs and performance for gaming. It has better specs than Razer Phone simply because it came out later. However, if you are crazy about high refresh rate screen and/or loud speakers, then go for Razer Phone. Really, if you are buying a phone primarily for gaming (which is probably true if you are specifically looking at those two phones), I would say wait for a bit longer and get the ROG Phone. That's the ultimate gaming phone you would want.

  • Black shark all the way. The frame rate is much more stabilized than poco

  • Get a black shark for gaming, it's much more stable than f1 poco, if you play demanding games on poco you'll notice stuttering and frame drops as you play for 1hour or more, with black shark the frame drops are much more subtle and forgiving that is you play it for 3 hours straight, but the temperature seems higher in black shark to compensate with demanding games, the battery might not last as the poco.

  • definitely xiaomi black shark. the Snapdragon 845 in it just beats it by a mile compare to Kirin 970 in Honor Play. But if you like something affordable with a performance of a Mate 10 Pro, I guess Honor Play is the way to go tbh.

But you can't ignore the OS softwares and function settings. - This is the real distance between the Chinese "factories" and US companies- most Chinese phone maker never upgrade the OS version, even the Android version has been updated to 8.1 their phones still remain 7.x..even 6.0. For this phone, a ridiculous defect is THEY EVEN DID NOT SUPPORT SEARCHING FUNCTION! - If you want to find a particular App, you have to slip the screen to find it....OMG...

  • Got the 64gb version and it's an amazing phone for gaming. The only issue I have with it so far is facebook and messenger keeps crashing once you close them via clear recent apps or the memory cleaner feature. My cirrent fix is cleading data andnlogging in those apps again.

  • Totally smooth on highest settings possible. No lag whatsoever, just don't use it to play games while getting charged, i accidentally did it when farming cores and it goes hot up to 60 degrees celcius.

And more importand if google is really working on a gaming console they could licence its gaming OS to be used on the real gaming phones to come, i dont see a controller necessary since you can pair an Xbox One/PS4 or any bluetooth controller easilly all we need is a good third party manufacturer whilling to make a high quality Clip like those Nyko used to make.

Man its amazing. not sure how big gaming is back home in canada and us but its huge in asia. no one here uses a computer anymore all tabs and smartphones. from a guy who was using the razer phone, samsung s9, mate 10, and mix2 i got to say this phone is the way to go. lag free gaming and you wont freeze and crash like the razer phone. better camera then razor too. overal im loving the phone right now, other then me not being able to watch netflix on it haha. the joystick that comes with the phone works very well. amazing for guys who play fortnite or the league of legends style games on the smartphones.

  • I got it what you said but Xiaomi has put a SD845 in it. The GPU gives 767 GFlops on FP32. So that's massive power it can easily handle a 120 Hz screen. If you are concerned about throttling Xiaomi has put liquid cooling in it which seems to be working. So I guess the only reason they didn't put the 120 Hz display is that it will ruin the design of the phone. Otherwise there is no real good reason for them to not put in there. There is also no Desk mode. Huawei and Samsung both have it. Xiaomi at least could have put that feature in the new OS.

Try to watch a video from youtube, two device hand in hand, xz premium and Samsung s series, you will see the difference. you can also try xz premium with one plus 5T, LCD are more accurate than AMOLED. OLED tends to overexpose losing .... You can try a midrange phone Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL with Samsung S series or onePlus 5T. I forgot the video name in youtube that shows you images and videos in high quality. Some video clips like the flower tends to lose details in SS and OP5T than those of ASUS and XZ Premium. It was an orange flower, from there you will definitely see the difference.

  • All good points, but what makes a device a "gaming device". As it goes for PCs, a good gpu, adequate cpu, and gaming peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset) equal a gaming PC. But when you've got a phone with specs that are similar to 90% of the competition, then the lines get blurred. The dedicated gaming pad is what should make the black shark a gaming phone, not the mainstream hardware. I've had some long gaming sessions on my Mate 10 pro and if I call it a gaming phone I wouldn't be wrong, because it is able to game for hours on a beautiful OLED display. I'm not bashin Xiaomi, just don't like it when companies try to sell me a regular phone as something more. If the new mi device has the same specs at a "xiaomi price", it will be a great phone to get.

  • As far as I understand... it has a unique 5-7 layer liquid cooling system... something that other 845 powered phones don't have. 120Hz screen (A-la Razer style), dedicated gaming mode, which simply squeezes all the available power for the game. (I got one to my office to learn if the coding is different comparing to standard phones or not. I got a message from my manager. Seeing it today) and lastly a powerful DAC. UFS tech is faster than eMMC, and use of microSD card will bottleneck the UFS speed. Reviewers would like to see which tech Xiaomi used for the Black Shark storage. Although I didn't really agree with the term of 'gaming' phone, I'm sure the Black Shark will be able to handle tasks and games in flying colors with its low-res Full HD 18:9 and SDM845 on its heart, with the price of popular brand upper-midrangers

  • Hi , i see comment's love and hate about the display i do agree that using IPS is great thing for gaming, some people with low knowledge will hate why this phone doesnt have amoled? this is a gaming phone so it possibly will be used as a gaming device with long session, altough is true the amoled make color punchier and make a great thing (one plus5t screen with PUBG comes to mind) it have 2 minus the burn in will be bad as game ui is static position and playing long hours everyday can cause burn in, second playing game in long marathon session cause heat, this can be dangerous with amoled as it can damage the screen. Altough for the 2nd case samsung amoled display already durable enough with the heat with current gen amoled on s8 onward , but it can push the price so it's a bad deal too xiaomi in business part as they tend sell cheap device with low revenue focusing on quantity sales alone, so well then you have it why no amoled?

  • Thank god, no AMOLED, so no burn-in, yellow instead of white etc. AMOLED is inferior technology for lowend phones by low-end brands.

  • OLEDs have better accuracy. They are set to punchy colors by default. Set your phone to Basic display mode and you'll see

  • Actually a lot of people don't want the amoled one , I think is a good option . Recently switched from Amoled to IPS and I enjoy more the colour acuracy
