4 years later and putting new software was a must, phone became laggy and collected lots of waste memory as misc. in the storage. I put CyanogenMod version 12.1-20161127 with android 5.1.1 and now i can say it is as fast as new, if not even faster and better responding :) Battery still holds quite well, about 20% less than when it was new. Still better than some newer phones on the market (Galaxy J5 2015, 2016...) PS: I use Galaxy S7 in the last year and a half as my first phone, the Xiaomi did his job very well for the time and now i use it only for my instagram business profile and sometimes for playing games.

Same for me, I've been owning this phone for 3 years. Dropped it many times and in toilet too. They were the best xiaomi phone imo. It's sad to see how xiaomi has cut down on build quality since then. Just look at the bend test of the xiaomi mi5, you could never do that with a Mi2s.

i love this phone. i bought it online when it first came out and haven't regretted it since. i'm still using it, 3 years later, it's a beast. i've dropped it in the toilet 3 times, dropped it on the ground countless times, and had a really angry day where i threw it as hard as i could at the wall... it's survived all of these and still works as well as it did the day i received it. my only complaint is that since updating it to miui 8 i am left with little room for apps.

Excellent performance for the price, I paid US$300 in summer 2013 for the 16 GB version, I must admit that storage starting becoming an issue after 2 year, but at this price, Samsung was offering phones at half the spec (esp screen, GPS and maybe even built). I mention built as I have dropped my phone from table height many times (by accident of course), and it has survived! The battery capacity is a little lacking for most users, and I tend to have a carry a power pack of at least 2400mAH (i.e another battery equivalent to last 10 - 12 hours! If you plan to buy 2nd hand for a non demanding user, highly recommended, however, if you need the storage, RAM and battery power. Stay away.

I've got the phone. With the multilanguage ROM it does support many languages including English and Dutch. The screen is sharp, it is extremely fast the only downside I can mention is the camera. My previous phone was a HTC Desire, that was 5MP, this is 13, but the Desire made way better pictures than this one. Maybe due to settings, but with standard settings the pictures are disappointing in my view. For the rest super satisfied. It is basically a Samsung S4, but smaller and for halve the price.

Great phone!!! Only minus is the visibility of the screen outside. On a sunny day it is very hard to see. Other than that: excellent!! Very fast, beautiful, great battery life with wiui rom, good sound, perfect size. Be smart, buy a bumper or case. I didn't and I just dropped mine (it wasn't the first time. This time the screen shattered. Now I am trying to figure out if I can replace the screen myself or save the money and the trouble and buy a mysaga m1 for �110 instead. It's fast, the screen is not so large that it has a problem fitting in your pocket, but large enough to easily see small text... just the right size. I purchased the extended 3100 mAh battery and I can go three days without charging the phone. The best feature is the radio sensitivity. This phone has the best radio/antenna setup I have ever seen. I live in a very weak signal area. When my iPhone has only one bar of signal, this phone has THREE! When my friends have "no service", I still have two bars. The design and build is very solid. Has a good feel in your hand. The Dolby Digial Plus audio is 10 times better than "Beats Audio" found in other phones. Beats Audio is supposed to be the best... not anymore!

Hi, I have bought this phone after being deeply frustrated with my Xperia S. So far, this phone is amazing!! Great IPS screen (I'd say it's on par with HTC one) Amazing camera, (Xperia S is a joke compared) and blasting performance. Everything is just so smooth.. Build quality exceeded my expectations, it is plastic, but not cheap plastic. Has a kinda premium feel about it, and the backplate sits just right.. I'm usually a stock android fan, but I dare say MIUI is even better One thing I'm not really satisfied with, is the 1080p video capture. Although image quality is great, it looks kinda shaky.. Btw, I use 32GB version, and I bought it over ibuygou.com, got it delivered with DHL.

3G specs are correct. It's 850 not 900 as you said. I suggest you look it up again. I own the phone. Bad ass hardware but software has too many bugs they try to fix every week with updates if you bitch about it enough in the forums.

Something must be wrong. My power saving mode saves almost 50% compared to normal mode. I play games around 1-2 hours a day with a lot of browsing and 6 background apps. And I still get 16-20 hours of battery life. You could install some battery monitor app and check which apps eat the battery most. By the way, removing some bloatwares (which are installed by default) can also improve the battery life.

The multi /system partition is actually meant for easy update from inside running system so you don't need to go to recovery. The /data partition is shared between the two and all applications are available on both system, this could break things if you install two ROMs with different base framework. You can enable True Dual Boot which virtually splits the /data partition as well using, for instance, CWM posted in miuiandroid forum.

Love this phone. Had it for 3 weeks now. The great thing about it is - it is almost unique since almost everyone else use Samsung/iPhone. You are not attached to google with this phone by default til google apps are installed. It is very responsive and unlike the other brands - there is not a lot of bloat in it. MIUI is absolutely georgeous and stylish and if you are from a country Samsung/HTC/iPhone UIs are the majority - this is an eyecatcher. It's not about the benchmarks that concerns me - it's the feel of speed when you actually use it and this is the phone that feels really fast.

But still, my biggest concern about owning this phone is to give a scratch to the plastic back cover while opening it. Really hope that MI-3 is going to have a metal back cover which can easily be removed. Great job China!

i think you work for Xiaomi maybe, because you really dont know what your talking about. The main reason why this phone has high benchmark is because it has a 720p screen and the S4 has 1080p, so if the s4 was 720p it can easily reach 26,000 while the exynos version can reach 30,000+.

Switching between applications is very fast. Camera Quality is pretty Good 7/10 Speaker quality when you are playing songs with back side speaker is really really bad. The screen is perfectly sized 4.3" and pixel density is more than 300ppi (more than the eye can see). I don't want bigger screen with 1080p ( bigger screen are not usable with one hand) and the only justification for 1080p on a 4.3" is purely marketing as their is not improvement for and user and as it is more power consuming...
