  • Got it as a gift and replacement of my damaged Redmi Note 3 Pro and here will be my reviews after using it to close to 2 years: Pros: - Beautiful glass design. - Better camera in comparison to all Redmi range when it comes to still images. - Loud and clear speakers. Cons: - Very short battery life; especially when you are gaming. Snapdragon 810 main problem is overheating. Just like SD 650. - No official global version, but you can look for Europe version where enthusiast worked out the original China MIUI close to Global ROM, which probably has some problems too. - No official custom ROMS. - Even with OIS the camera autofocus isn't quick enough resulting in bad photos and videos when you or the object is moving. Mostly in this case, the results isworse than Redmis. I tried Samsungs and they catch good pictures and videos btw. - Laggy at times, for a so called powerful SD810. Strangely even using the Chinese OS, perhaps due to bloatware?

  • Great phone when it's working, had it for two months then got very hot one day and screen blew, I have fitted a new screen, and it's great again, just not as confident in it lasting as I was, this is my 4th Xiaomi.

  • Great specs for the price BUT screen flickering after a month. After 2-3 months in the factory recuperated the device with glue all over and a piece of rubber glued into the display. Another month later the GPS stopped working. Poor build quality, poor support. I guess in the end you get what you pay for... as good as nothing. Love MIUI, hate XIAOMI!

  • Good specs but display adapter broke after 1 month. Warranty repair service took 2 months and they literally threw the phone back together. Glue marks all over. Now GPS is broken. Not sending it back again... Definitely my last Mi device!

  • I bought this phone on Aliexpress, the phone came pre-loaded with the multi language Rom that has Google play on. At first I thought it was a great phone,the screen is great and I still love the interface, which is why I went for Xiaomi again. To my disappointment nothing has been good about this phone. The battery life is appalling, I have to charge is numerous time a day quite often. The camera picture quality is awful, my RedMi Note had great picture quality. And on trying to use things like Google maps, the GPS just doesn't work. I paid just under £210 for this phone and was expecting a lot more based on previously owning a Xiaomi. Unfortunately for me I have no idea how to update ROM or anything else really concerning phone software so I can't find ways of fixing things myself. All I know is that I am super unhappy and extremely disappointed.

  • Did you drain the battery to the point the phone shut down itself when the battery reaches to 1%? Coz if you forgot to charge it then that's why its black screen and the notification light is color red when you charge it coz that means it's charging. You just have to wait for a few minutes to turn the phone back on after charging it because it will not immediately boot up once the battery is totally drained.

  • The cellphone specifications state, very clearly, that external storage, e.g. SDXX Cards are not supported. Therefore, whether you insert a 2GB or 2TB SDXX card nothing will be stored on it. Suggestion: Store your music/photo files in the 64GB built-in storage and then transfer them to the "Cloud".

  • I have had my MI note Pro for one month. I managed to install google play, since then, the phone has worked beautifully. It is good looking phone with large internal memory and very fast to run. The only problem is when switch from WiFi to mobile network, you have to restart to make the switch. On the whole, it is a good phone. Well done Xiaomi!

  • I had this phone for 4 days only. During that time it both amazed me and confused me and annoyed me. It has a great screen, great design, incredible thinness and the speed was amazing. However, when buying this phone you must be prepared to accept certain things, like that fact that it is NOT sold outside of China. So it is not meant to have the Google Play Store pre-installed. You can side load it, of course, but it's not a guarantee it will work 100%. My unit decided not to work even after Google Play was sideloaded. I made a very rash decision to sell it off for half the price and bought my wife a new phone. Sadly, I still don't know if I would have enjoyed the phone if only I was a bit more persistent and patient with it. If you would like to purchase it, you should check out websites on the net, like AliExpress.

I've had same review comments and high praises for this phone in June/Aug.   • I recently recived it and I think i made the best decision buying it. Compared to oneplus 2, Lg flex2 or G4 the thin design of 7 mm vs almost 10 is no brainer ! i mean they feels like a rock after you use mi note pro. It does overheat but only if it's used brutally, but the phone is running 100% at full performance. Games like asphalt 8 runs smoothly with no heat worry. Altought is made from glass, for my surprise it's not that slipery as you might think. The battery is mediocre, too small for this device, but the fast charging will sweet things up a little. 1hr and the battery is almost full. The camera for my taste is more than ok. But it's behind of most competitors, using an older sony sensor. For me that I use it every now and then, it;s perfect. So if you depend on the camera you might consdider other phones with better sensors ! Altought is still a very damn good camera ! I was able to see and hold the most recent devices, and in my opinion the mi pro design is the best. Pros: Insane fast hardware, great display, great design, good price. Super Splim. Cons: Older Camera sensor, Poor battery, no NFC ( for those that use ), no wireless charge, no finger print ( For now I think this tech is not well developed, bcz there are all kinds of bugs )

  • Overall great phone for it's price. Snapdragon 810 chip tend to overheat a little but isn't as bad as chip sets 2 generations back. For its performance I wouldn't bother with the overheating issues. Only downfall would be accessories such as casing is pretty hard to find and the battery life isnt good, would consider it to me slightly below average. Otherwise it's a great phone :)

  • Sorry, but this is your experience, not mine. I found it absolutely stable and fast. Of course some bugs still on the weekly ROM developer... but definitely a good smartphone. I immagine that probably most of the day one buyer found different problem as you said, but not in the late model like mine. So, this is it. Hope this helps.

  • dont buy it . it is a piece of shit . so please save ur money. i m using it from last 15 days imported it from china paid the custome but what a waste of money . it overheats to that extent near the camera and the volume rocker to the unbearable level. there are issues with the wifi connectivity, it hangs , network lost . it only is good looking but inside it is simply trash . looking for a buyer for 26000 even i bought it in 36000 Rs .

  • im using mi note pro for nearly 1 months. these are my true review Pros: hifi system, speaker really nice and loud.. playing music beautifully heating problem is solved with miui rom update and really cools very fast. playing hardcore game ..temperature 37-39..well control.., fast in performance fast charging .. complete in 1 hr 30 minutes camera with awesome quality.. especially front camera.. beautiful design cons: the miui update need to read review for user before update.. not every update improving no double tap wake screen features no nfc no hand gesture control for selfie using camera will slightly heatup but cooling fast (will improve through miui rom update) overall: i ever used samsung and zenfone. really say bb to samsung..   • Got it from a friend that came from China. Having both Note and Note Pro, I normally use the NOte for Waze and navigation as using the Note Pro will get it hot. Note Pro is awesome phone but the heat can be annoying at times now. Note continues to be more consistent as a performer. Other than heat issues of the Pro. All good. It's my main phone. Gave iPhone 6 and Samsung Note 3 away.

  • Bought mine in HK last month for $3500 HKD/$450 USD. So far no hot issue unless I play some hardcore games for more than 30mins. Overall, It doesn't get really hot where i feel uncomfortable. Afterall, the SOC is v2.1 so I guess the over heating issue is somewhat solved for now. Phone runs pretty fast, smooth, and firmware is updated frequently for improvements. Definitely worth buying this phone over over-priced smart phones like Samsung.

  • Been using note pro now for a month now and everything is awesome. It can really get hot even during updates of apps though but goes back to normal quickly. Battery is good for the day and can last for 2 days depending on use of radio items or bright display. Camera's photos are great too. Very crisp. Just an amazing phone. Looking forward to the mi5.

  • Okay, just got the phone yesterday and just completed migrating from Xiaomi Note LTE to this Note Pro! This experience is from Manila, Philippines. I will update as per use but here are initial actual experience. 1.English language is available to set it up. No more google installer in MI Market that sets up your google stuff. You have to extend search usingu Baidu. Search for Chrome and install it. It will then tell you to install prerequisite apps like google play. Launch chrome and type gmail in Url. Login so that android will login google. Then go ahead install Google Play store. You need to install and update google services as well. 2. Yes, there's heating but it's normal as you use the powerful chipset. My old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is comparable. 3. Android Lollipop has some differences to the miui. 4. 4G/LTE works on both sims. It works for Smart and Globe. The Note only had 4G/LTE for Globe. This Pro got speed. 5. Stop for now. I'll give more as I have.

  • Not good phone. I preffer my old Note3. 3-4 weeks with the Mi Note Pro. My comments with the new software update: Operative system just english. You don't have Google apps (no market!). 4G not working in Europe or US. 3G presents problems sometimes. Miracast signal is horrible. Always cuts. Wifi signal is the worst I have ever seen in a mobile... Batery now can stay for a day, with normal use, but difficult. No MHL, NFC, removal battery, MicroSD... And HOT, yes HOTT!. When playing games you can fell how quick starts to burn. Above all the aluminium that rounds the device. You can notice how sometimes the game results very laggy and then you see how the phone becomes cold.... but very very laggy... I repite: I prefer my old Note3. Games plays faster. The hot was normal, nothing like this. I have lost 600 bucks... :-(

  • I got this phone almost a week ago and i have to say that I am very very impressed with the quality, performance and efficiency this phone has. It has a very respectful specs on sheets and it truly delivers and reflect that on real life performance without any doubt so the specs are not for advertising only. - The processor is top notch like really really fast with no lag. (faster than my old note 4) - Screen is super sharp and accurate (same as the note 4) - cameras are really and I mean REALLY capable of shooting sharp beautiful images specially the the front cam. - MIUI 6 is extremely lag free and silky smooth transitions with no heck ups and I truly love this MIUI I would use it for the next year without getting bored of it. - build quality is elegant. - Battery life is average-good but stand by time is amazing. - Fast charging is a plus. Overall i am truly happy with it although its kind of pricey but still you are paying for your satisfaction.

  • Think twice before buying this product , the battery drain down very quickly , even by not using Data roaming, internet , talk time 0 and leaving it idle the battery still drains in half a day , they told me oh you may have some apps running at the background , that was horse **** of course , also I'm not convinced about screen resolution as when compared even with my galaxy alpha , the Samsung has more brightness and contrast, talking about brightness I had to raise it to 80% to get a descent display , bottom line the phones specs looks good on paper by Xiaomi are lying as when trying this phone for the last 48 hrs , I see only half of what has been written on the specs , take for instance the CPU it should clock octa 2.5 ghz , but when checking the specs on mi mi pro about my phone to my surprise it 2.0

In other hand, built in memory needs unlocking the phone or at least dismantle the whole phone just to get the info inside.   • I agree with all the people who say that this phone is great, but don't forget that it is a Xiaomi phone and that means that it runs on MIUI Android, people have to like MIUI to be able to like Note Pro otherwise and I'm not one of those people, when you use MIUI you are limited to what is made available by Xiaomi but with Android running for example under Samsung's TouchWiz you have a lot of freedom that you would never have with MIUI. Well that's my two cents on this matter.

  • In every regard except maybe the processor. I think it will overheat and get throttled like the LG G Flex 2 but maybe Xiaomi has a clever heat dissipation design. The screen's contrast and brightness may suffer in compared to the iPhone 6+ due to the 2K display. If these above issues are present you wil be better of with the Xiaomi Mi Note

  • All Mi Note series using IMX-214 Exmor RS from Sony specialize in 13MP camera (announced around April 2014). Not too outdated i think, only 1 years old. And IMX214 still the best sensor from Sony todate for 13MP camera. There is no way Mi4 using IMX230 which only used in Xperia Z Series with 20MP Camera. S6 use Sony brand new IMX240 Exmor RS from Sony for their 16MP camera. Different resolution = different sensor. take note that. Even its outdated there is no way vendor will use a thing that not even match their spec.

  • I got hold of the Mi4 just fine, been using it since November 2014 and loving it.

  • It won't be a note then. What is it with people and SD card slots, it's like you're married to them. Just get 64 GB version and be done with it.

What should have been a standard configuration in a high end phablet like this (ie. 64gb base-line storage) has been priced 80$ higher (5000rs INR) making the price 28000 rs (450$) if it were launched today in India. This price for a product from the new kid "Xiaomi" packing a 1 year old hardware which is 2 generations old (SD 805 & SD 810 being the two later generations is priced at almost the same price as a certain Note 3 which carries almost the same specs and was launched 1.5 yrs ago and is available for around 30k from a company which is the most premium-charger after Apple. Not to mention their stylus & expensive amoled screen Ridiculous price to say the least. They should have ideally priced it the same as the 16gb version (370$ / 23k Rs) and not have the 16gb version at all. Mi Note Pro on the other hand is almost reasonably priced at 530$/33k Rs for the only version (64gb). But the weak link here seems to be the camera which is same as Mi note non-pro, mi4 with the outdated IMX230 sony sensor (debuted 2 years ago in early 2013). IMO they are charging too much for the novel looks of the Mi Note series. Hope the market forces them to drop the prices quickly.

  • Xiaomi has become over-confident in India after the success of their mi3/redmi 1s & note. Therefore they have gone ahead with over-pricing their mi4 which is already 7 months old when it was launched in India. 'Ideally' the 16gb version should have been priced at 16k rs.('ideally'- as in compared to the launch price of the mi3, which too was launched in india when it was 7-8 months old) and AT MOST at 18k rs. But they have decided to ask for premium (albeit a slight one as of now) and are following the path of established 'traditional players' without having the sales & service network like them. The 64 gb version likewise should have launched at 20k 'ideally' at 22k AT MOST. Anyway it doesn't make much sense buying a 20k phn with 12gb free space unless one is an ifan-atic ;-)

  • I think you are confused between Xiaomi models There are 3 different top/Middle end models here MI4 which is already in production and sales and is going to retail at abt 19999 for 16 GB, there is Xiaomi Note model which sold in China and has same Snapdragon 801 processor and then there is the NEW FLAGSHIP Xiaomi Note Pro sporting Snapdragon 810 processor 4 GB RAM and 64 GB. Now comparing One Plus One, it is competitive and better than xiaomi MI4, but also MI4 has been there for a long time, if you look at the time, One plus one and Xiaomi MI4 came about the same time or rather One Plus one came first and then came Xiaomi MI4, but in a way of Specs One Plus one is better than Xiaomi MI4 but the specifications of Xiaomi Note are way better than One plus one, and if Xiaomi MI4 16 GB priced at 20K then surely Xiaomi Note Pro with 64 GB goes priced at 25-30K considering the specs. Higher price than that and people will start comparing phones of similar specs and Xiaomi which was once a giant killer will be open to be killed by newer chinese phone makers. Thus the beauty might be to try and keep the prices of Xiaomi MI4 64 GB below 24K and that of Xiaomi Note pro below 27K else xiaomi is going the same path of the giants it tried to kill.

  • Hardware is just skeleton of mobile. Hardware provides support to software. If u know about IT industry, people pay for software more than hardware. If you know about IMEI, thiefs can change IMEI of local brand easily(including Samsung and xiaomi) but IMEI of Htc can not be hacked. We are paying for security not for just making a call and texting. Like this there are many factors which common man don't know and local brand takes advantage. And if you want to spend less and if u want less security from mobile then Nokia Asha is better option. You can make a call, texting and that mobile can run whats app too.

  • Yes i totally agree with you.Apprently for android performance its not for a long term it begins to slow down in time and also every now and then crashes so a factory reset is necessary which is a huge inconviniece even with backups and supports.

If we consider sony, battery life of sony mobile is very very ...... good and since ui of sony is not heavy as campare to htc , samsung and other brand so u can load more apps as compare to other phone If we consider htc, as compare to other branded mobile, network strength is better. So if u can make a call on worse network. I dont about iphone so no explanation on iphone. Samsung , xioami, micromax karbon are provide good specs in low price, atleast on paper, but after 6 months or 1 year u will face issues like laginess, switching of sim is not proper, less network strength etc. And this issues are not seen by eyes since we always concentrate on cpu, ram, cam.( if network strength is not good then we always blame network provider) So xioami micromax karbon cannot beat htc sony in terms of such factors.

  • Yes man apple is just making people fool. It has manufacturing cost just $199 for 5s and $229 for iphone 6. Other money go for to make apple the richest company. Xiaomi has totally different strategy . Software can be updated but you can't add better parts in phone. 1440×2560 pixels is far better than 720×1280 pixels in same screen.   • Not bad as phones go. Why is everyone So upset about not having infra red. The Samsung Note 3 uses infra red just so you can use the handset as remote control. There are no settings for the infra red as it doesn't support anything else. Unlike early mobiles before bluetooth they had infra red modems. These were used in much the same way has bluetooth. Bluetooth won over infra red as it was more stable and reliable. So it's nothing new.

Designing a phone in the shape people want it is not copying, giving a phone the 'note' moniker is more of a reference to it's size. You know only Samsung note phones come with a stylus (i might be wrong). You are not going to get a better phone than this in this price range.

And fyi, almost all the smartphones on the market today are rectangular with mostly the logo and speaker placement differentiating them. I don't see any copying of any kind. That said, this is sure to be a really awesome phone but don't hold your breath for updates.

  • I recommend you not to compare Chinese OEMs with reputable OEMs. The main intention of those Chinese OEMs is, release high-end specs phones with an impressive price. So they can attract more buyers. In reality, Xioami earns more profit than Samsung. 90% of their sales come from their home country and India. Also, having a 4GB RAM is not an advantage over a 3GB RAM. No phone in the world consumes RAM more than 3GB. The Note 4 consumes maximum 2 - 2.5GB of RAM. Most of the upcoming phones such as the Galaxy S6 and M9 will have DDR4 RAMs. It will blow the current DDR3 RAMs in bandwidth and efficiency. The main advantage of those Chinese phones is, you can own a high-end device with an affordable price. It's more beneficial than buying a mid-range reputable brand phone for the same price. Except that, Xiaomi is very poor in after sales service, Android updates and firmware updates to fix the bugs. In simple, their after sales service is very poor. They can't attract buyers in western countries until they improve their after sales service.

Touchwiz is the most feature-rich android customized interface to date. I admit I love the 4GB fast RAM and the better 810 chipset, but I bet Samsung will catch up with that in a month or two.

But when it comes to real world performance, the Snapdragon 805 seems to have outperformed it due to the poor design of the Snapdragon 810 chip. It suffers from heating issues, which sharply cut down its performance. Qualcomm will eventually come up with a fix for it, but until then, it not worth spending money on what you are not going to get.

  • Snapdragon 810 is the worst SoC right now. It suffers from heating and performance issues. Sanpdragon 805 devices have outperformed it in all occasions. These cores which have been designed to run at 2 GHz don't even make it to 1.4 GHz because of this heating issue. Because of this heating issue, it's performance gets cut down sharply as the SoC does this so as to prevent permanent damage. Any device with the Snapdragon 810 chip right now will not be a good choice. It's better to wait till Qualcomm fixes this issue.

This one has a dual LTE Sim and it's CAT 9 LTE, Im not sure whether two sim slots support cat 9, but both is LTE capabable. So think twice before u say that..

  • If it's by a Chinese company, does it have to be low cost? This is not the cheap knock-offs These are High end devices Besides, at about $500, its not expensive at all.....
