I have this and can say it's great from an over performing battery (that I was concerned about prior to getting it) to the great screen and wait for it..... NO ugly notch or cutout! MiUi is actually refreshing after both Nova with the Razer Phone and Samsungs attempts, the lack of a app draw really did not affect me as much as the internet told me it would. I have the google camera app installed and no issues (although I'm not a big camera user). I would definitely recomend the Mi Mix 3 well done Xiaomi, I'll be leeping an eye on what they do next.

This is the phone the finally made me switch completely to Android, my previous phone was an iPhone 6s Plus; I've always jump to the biggest, baddest, newest iPhone ASAP but since the 6s (or 9th gen) the only appealing I found was the water resistance and the Product(RED) color both released on the iPhone 7/7 Plus (10th gen), that and the fact that I was actually content with my phone, cameras and all that stuff don't matter if I'm only using them to take pictures of prices (e.g; in a retail store) to remember them later. The first three Mi Mix phones are gorgeous but this one is beyond gorgeous I just had to have it and as soon as it was available I ordered it. It's smaller the narrow screen with almost no bezel takes time to get used to, accidental input is a given but Xiaomi has done a good job in its customization in so many areas except for a few very important ones; being a little pragmatic + coming from iOS I appreciate the lack of app drawer, I do not appreciate the fact that everything on the phone comes with an privacy policy, even the browser launched when you want to read said privacy policy. After some digging you can minimize ads and data mining "unauthorizing" apps but that shouldn't be. I combat that a little more with a robust, heavy-inspection firewall and an all-or-nothing (no data allowed if not tunnel not working) MDM-based (obeyed on a system-level, beyond user control) always-on VPN to my firewall. Xiaomi is very active listening to user input though. I love, to an extend, MIUI, but more so I love the design of this phone; if I had my way, I think the only way of improving on it would be to eliminate the sliding mechanism and front camera or cameras --I don't know if the second one is a camera or some sensor, don't care-- so it could be a tiny bit thinner and just be a solid slab with front and back indistinguishable from one another except for the cameras on the back--I like those because it resembles a old point-and-shoot. Unless I crack the ceramic (or screen,) I have a feeling I'll be using this phone for a very long time, if I do crack the ceramic I'll just purchase it again if it's still for sale--I'd do it now if batteries didn't age. :(

The Mi Mix 3 is a great phone, the screen is superb comparing with the Mi 8 that I have and overall experience this is an incredible phone made with quality materials and once you get used to it will not feel heavy at all, the front camera is better than the Mi 8 and Mi 9. If you have some extra bucks to expend, you can go with Mi Mix 3 5G, it has 2 important things like bigger battery and the best processor on the market SD 855.

Hello Had the Pixel 2 XL previously and now own the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (in uk) The Pixel 2 XL is a great device and I really enjoyed owning it, the regular updates and stock android are great but with the Mi Mix 3 the general increase in performance and the screen really set it apart. I'm looking to root my Mi Mix 3 for the stock android experience jsut because I enjoyed it so much Other Points - Mi Mix 3 charges much faster - the blue screen/screen issues do exist on the Pixel 2 xl do exist but aren't that bad in real life - the mi mix 3 is heavy, I still don't know how I feel about it - Mi Mix 3 has more storage as standard As an overall device I'd say the mi mix 3 is better but it might be worth waiting for the 5G version unless you get a great deal.

They are different phones. Mi Mix 3 is a medium range phone (price wise what ever the price may be in other places) and Samsung 10 and 10+ (compare it with S10E and still cheaper) are High End top notch. For the price and software Mi Mix 3 is a great phone and if it lasts me 2 Years (and am expecting 4) its more then paid for its less then half the price of a S 10. No brainer to me ( my last phone was a Samsung Note 2 for over 5 years). Just love it, am a fan now.

Unless you're constantly on sandy places you should be fine. I thought they were a little flimsy seeing how easy they play with the handset; I ordered one because how can you not, even though I've never used Android as my main phone--or anything--this thing is gorgeous enough to overlook it runs on Android. It actually is harder than it looks to open and close--I've only done it three-four times tops to watch the screen effect, not interested in the camera at all. Reviewers handles tons of phones regularly, they actively push them to their limits for the job, you'd normally wouldn't do the same. There's also the older white one with no moving parts and probably even more beautiful because of the color--IDK it took me hours to decide which to order. Because of symmetry I got the newer one but I still keep lusting at the white Mix 2S. In the back I actually prefer the asymmetric placement of elements, centered(and high) things like most manufacturers had done until recently I thought looked tacky and unimaginative.

Of course it will have a better battery life simply because the chip that the 5G version has (Snapdragon 855) is based on 7nm which takes less power from the battery to perform. Even so, you can always just put on a black wallpaper to take full advantage of the SuperAmoled display.

Hello! Could anyone help me make a decision regarding this phone? First of all I am interested in anyone's battery experience who owns this device. My other question is will the upcoming 5g model have greatly better battery life? The variables which I have discovered so far would be the extra 600 MaH battery size, the newer lower consuming Snapdragon 855, and the 5g modem. The first two would obviously help the battery life, but what about the 5G, how much will it possibly drain away? Also the price difference is there, 480 EUR for the current one, whereas the upcoming will release around 600 EUR? Thanks for anyone who has a better understanding of this and can explain it to me.

First time buying a Xiaomi phone, and it's really fantastic. Had some battery drain issues the first days after purchase, but after a small update, it was fixed. Now I have 2 days of normal usage on it. It's notchless screen is pretty cool, and the hiding of camera's is a bright idea. Although you might accidentally open the slider, happens to me when I wipe it from grease marks.

I bought the Mix 3 and there's a white notification LED at the top bezel near the proximity sensor, the 3200mAh battery lasts around 5h:15m SoT after full day of usage which avarage for smartphone. The full screen ratio is amazing and the magnetic slider feels very solid, the cameras are very good, i only rely on google camera for selfies because beautification in the stock camera.

I mean the camera on the mate is more versatile although it isnt necessarily better (it is for most cases). Mix has moving parts, no 3.5mm jack slightly worse cpu over the mate but it has that notch less display its amoled whilst the mate 20's is ips oh and dont forget the ceramic back on the mix (ceramic is more durable than a gorilla glass 5 covered screen) it's all about personal preference will the things that you lose with the mix effect you and if theres a good reason to buy it over the mate 20 (bdw yea the mate 20 has literally the same camera performance as the 20 pro with the loss of some mps) And its MIUI 10 vs EMUI 9 again personal preference. Good luck on making a choice

What should be the price of the Note 9? Mi Mix 3' price,? Sure, it probably could have been, but it's not. Cheapest Note 9 here is 37% more expensive than the Mi Mix 3. And that's not even officially imported Mi Mix 3's, but parallel import that typically has higher price than official import.

Premium price? For Xiaomi maybe, but it's far more affordable than Note 9, Mate 20 pro, Iphone XS etc. Half off essentially. Even pure gaming phones sporting SD845 came out at around the same time, Asus ROG Phone, RAZER Phone 2 and ZTE Nubia Red Magic. And Xiaomi will launch the SD855/5G/48MP(IMX586) version of the Mi Mix 3 on February 24th according to most rumors.

I owned a Mi Mix 3 (6/128). I leave in Europe, bought from Aliexpress. Battery lasts for a full day on mid-heavy use. You only need to use the slide for selfies and face unlock. No need for calls(Proximity sensor seems to be on front panel). Excellent/Beautiful phone. The only downside is the weight (218g). A bit heavy compared to other smartphones in the market. I didnt regret buying this phone. Worth it.

Does anyone know where are ambient light sensor and proximity sensor placed ? If they are next to camera - visible only when slider is extended - that is big problem. Because in order to use phone normally you need to extend slider open. Hopefully these sensors are located somewhere within screen bezels / frame, otherwise this is very big issue and turn off for me. I still think better is to keep minimal top bezel for placing camera and sensors instead of having full front side screen and various workarounds for front camera/sensors such as notch, slider, periscope camera, secondary screen etc. If someone knows let us know. I agree, they use too long to get it into the international market. I'm conflicted, because I want this now - which is easy - just get it through aliexpress or other. However, then Xiaomi will only see another domestic China sale, and an international retailer will miss out on a sale of a Xiaomi device, a sale which would encourrage them to keep Xiaomi phones in their store. It would be nice if manufacturers focused more on battery size than efficiency. Whatever you do, you're gonna have to recharge your phone if it has under 6k mah. Imagine you do a 6hr gps drive, then you arrive at your destination and if you did not have cables lying around your car's dashboard during the journey, you couldn't enjoy going out with your phone, you'd have to recharge... or if you were the passenger and you were just chilling in the backseat with your phone without any plug available. Keep in mind that the Mi Mix 1 had a bigger screen (almost 9% more screen) and was IPS + it had a less efficient chipset. They or not identical phones with the only difference being battery capacity, and all the differences do matter and affect battery consumption. The Mi Mix 3 did a great job in FrankieTech's video. Whilst not the best of the best, like Mate 20 X and Mi Max 3, it's still very good and should last a full day without problem.

Still plenty. But wait, there's more. There already is a FHD+ AMOLED phone with SD845 and lots of RAM and even a slightly bigger display as well as a 4000 mAh battery, The Vivo NEX S. It scores very well in GSMarena's battery test (14:29h web browsing and 19:19h video) and the Mi Mix 3 should be 20% lower at worst. Given MIUI optimization and a slightly smaller display it might be less than a 20% diffrence. Which would still mean great battery performance and all day use. As an added bonus for me it comes with a wireless charger for my desk at work so everyday when I leave work I have a fully charged device with no hassle.

Even though it only has 3200 mAh battery capacity, I believe it will still be durable because of the 10nm processors. My current phone is a Redmi 4X with 28nm processor and 4200 mAh battery, it lasts all day with a single charge (if I don't use it to play Asphalt 9 on that day of course).

This is my favorite Xiaomi phone so far. I do believe that they could have increased the battery capacity in this phone if they wanted to. The life expectancy of the sliding mechanism is still a question. But no matter what, they are making top notch phones with comparatively lower price which keeps us happy. Thanks Xiaomi, please keep doing that. Also, it is amazing to see these phones are very much competitive and in fact beats much pricier flagships! This mi mix 3 is a clear example.

Yes.. because its back is made of ceramic and the frame is alluminium 7000 series.. and of course the sliding component that make it more heavy.. I hope there will be other version which use back glass and a little thicker body to make the battery larger but lighter in weight.. Just like Honor Magic 2 which uses back glass.

For gamers, 3200 mah is gonna last like say 1.30 hrs. Especially games like pubg and fortnite will suck up so much power. With snapdragon 845,adreno 630 and running 10 gigs of ram.. Jus calculate. Mi max prime with 6000+ mah lasts for 4 to 5 full games of pubg. While this will last only say 2 games. ie, an hour roughly. Which is a huge downside for gamers. Plugging in the charger and headphone is no more possible, that sucks the next option for gamers. And moreover charging while playing is gonna heat ur phone much. Considering all the points, I'd say 3200 is so low and doesn't even stand a chance to run the board spec. U may use social network watch videos and make calls, text and then say it lasts a day. But for that usage u don't need a 10 gigs, snap 845 and adreno 630.

You guys are all a bunch of pessimistic Debbie downers. 3200mAh battery really isn't that bad at all, its only 200 mAh less than the Xiaomi mi 8, and only 150 mAh less than my Xiaomi mi 6 I'm using right now. Look at how big the screen is, and the lack of bezels! This thing has a 94% screen to body ratio, GSMarena got that wrong about this phone. Not only that, but its a superAMOLED display! It almost has a very great camera, one of the best smart phone cameras out there, it's in the category of the top 5 best smartphone cameras in the world right now! And the RAM, come on guys, 10 GB of RAM is absolutely incredible. Nobody else has a smartphone with up to 10 GB of RAM. The only downside about this phone, is I don't see a notification LED light anywhere, and that kind of is a bummer, along with the lack of an IR blaster that my xiaomi mi 6 has, but no other smart phones really have that problem anyway. Also, this slide up to unlock the camera thing is absolutely sick, I love it! It reminds me of my old samsung strive phone, my first smartphone I've ever had. All of this, and in China it starts off at 475 USD, and potentially lower, you can possibly even get this phone as low as 425 or so if you're willing to haggle. So look at all of those features you have, all of those sick features for only 475 dollars, which is around half of the price of all other flagship devices besides Oneplus 6T. You can't even compare this device with the Oneplus 6T though, because this smartphone doesn't even have a notch, and it still comes at a much cheaper price! Ya'll need to get your head out of your @$$ and stop 8itch!ng about a 3200 mAh battery, if you're a "Real power user" man up and spend 20 dollars on a freakin 10000 MaH power bank. I really doubt that claim, as my mother has Mi A1, which is pure Android and it is just average. Anyways the mi mix 2s with just a 6inch screen and 3400mah capacity only managed a 59h endurance rating. In my experience, anything that goes sub 75h in gsmarena rating needs charging twice a day and will betray me in those long days away from home. A 59h rating is the most pathetic rating i ever seen in a flagship and now they have a 6.4inch display with a 3200mah, which is bound to be even worse. It's ok for ppl who don't really use their phones and mostly curry it fashion purposes and urgent calls, but i am a power user and i am a man. I don't have a purse full of powerbanks... The problem on this phone is the WEIGHT and BATTERY. 218gr is more heavy than iPhone 8 Plus and even iPhone Xs Max which is already feel heavy. It's rather to have thcker body such as 9mm and the battery arround 3500 mAh minimum. The back is also prefer glass to make it lighter just like Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX s.. also Galaxy Note 9. I dont need such ehavy ceramic because I use protection case for daily usage.

Just fyi, you don't have to slide physically to unlock, there are many other ways to do so - rear finger print scanner, double tap to wake and enter the key etc. You can practically use the phone without sliding it except when using the front camera - which is obvious. Please learn to have an informed opinion before commenting. This is a real innovation in terms of design, love it or hate it - it indeed is something new and appreciate the fact!

Samsung made the same mistake with the Note 8, 6.4" and 3250 mAh, rectified it in the Note 9 after a lot of criticism. You forgot something technical matter.. They cant put fp under screen if the design is slider because the component is put on the board not on the display.. They also cant put large battery in order to make it slim because the sliding phone always thicker than non sliding model. Xiaomi is not stupid for putting lower battery capacity from the so crowded competition. That's because they cant put larger battery on that size of MIX 3.

Actually, my math was a bit off on the height. If the bezel on bottom is similar to the top/sides on the 2S, then we're looking at roughly 6.2" overall height, slightly less than the Galaxy Note 9. So yeah, go look at a Note 9 to get a good idea of the footprint!

I worked out some rough overall dimensions using the aspect ratio, a bit of simple trig, and assuming similar side/top bezel width to the 2S (and bottom bezel similar to top/side). Roughly, they're aiming for the same width as the Mix 2S, right about 3". They're able to fit the 0.5" larger screen in a similar width due to the new 19.5:9 aspect ratio, but it will be taller as a result, around 6.5" overall, or just slightly taller than a Galaxy Note 9. Basically, if you want to get a feel for the footprint of this phone ahead of time, go handle a Galaxy Note 9. The Mix 3 will likely be thicker with the sliding mechanism, but otherwise they're probably the most comparable footprint that you will easily be able to find in stores unless you live in China.

Overall it has a great spec and design, but how can a screen protector fit on the screen? and the phone now having super AMOLED screen is a huge turn off for me personally.

Not really. In a few month it would be mod range. SD 845 , 3 months before the new snapdragon release (which would be a jump in performance), no amoled screen, probably low screen to body ratio as compared to Nex S and the camera would be nothing to write home about as per all Mix releases. The first Mix *was* an overkill, but a well received one. 85% BtS ratio (back in 2016!), 6GB ram (which is still top), 4400 battery (which is also top). The next 2 were nothing too great (although "3" shapes up to be good enough)

The moving upper bezel might seem like a wonderfull solution on paper until you want to protect the gorgeous dual glass slab with a regular silicone case and you can't!! Did nobody in engineering see that obvious issue?

This design may be the futute, if it is built well to not go bad in a few months. The specs are overkill, 10 GB of RAM? Does we already need that much? Anyway I hope for that 4000 mAh battery to be the real deal, and not a smaller one. Anyway I bet there is no IP rating again, for this new sliding design, which can be useful, but at least a shock resistant rating would be great though!

apart from slim jaw everythink ok, but still i concern about slide mechanism. For me having notch is not a problem but having bottom bezels yes
