Xiaomi Redmi Go - User Reviews

  • Great phone for simple needs, like playing movies, music, some internet & whatsapp etc. Good battery, compared to huawei & samsung. Never update Android on this phone. It slows down the device.

  • Can I record FM radio program file on Redmi Go

  • support volte ?

  • How is the camera?

  • Not bad also.

  • I have gifted this phone to my dad, who has no graphic intensive tasks to be done on phone. It's one of the simplest and reliable phone. Following are my observations - compact built. Easy to handle. - good battery life. Goes on for 2 days with single charge. - works smoothly for day to tasks. no lag. - all essential go apps available pre installed. Just need to load apps like - WhatsApp,paytm, voice recorder, Skype can be downloaded from regular play store. - regular YouTube or YouTube Go, either of it works fine. - dual SIM plus dedicated SD card slot. SIM 1 is volte compliant. - camera is good for the price tag. - THIS PHONE IS NOT FOR GRAPHICS INTENSIVE USE. In short those who are expecting too much from this phone have misunderstood this phone. If one is expecting to have all sorts of stuff like - IR blaster, Game friendly, multi tasking, NFC, screen cast and all from this low end phone, then they are terribly wrong. For all such things, there are other phones available in market, if person is ready to pay for it.

  • yes I just tried it and easy voice recorder app works after downloading from regular play store of course this phone is for light use only I bought it as a back-up phone and to record audio while saving my main phone battery it's my first xiaomi, and almost a week into it and I'm impressed the heating will be a serious issue if used heavily, so I opted for only using one of the two SIMs along with a memory card and so far it's doing what I want from it, given it's specifications that are clearly limited

  • The really surprising thing about this phone is that the battery life is really good, just run it on battery save mode all the time, this will block all the transition and even save some RAM. For the mere 80$ you can't ask anything more. Make sure also to not overload the internal memory, it'll slow the telephone a lot down, try to use the SD as much as possible.

  • Redme Go is good.. since it has 1G Ram & 8G Rom it need light "GO" application.. but you can still install regular several apps - Youtube.. etc for dailly use.. just monitor memory.. you can add sd card for pictures and downloaded items...

  • This is Go model is one of the worst phone ever. Speed sucks by dead slow mode and waste of money. No app supports and this phone is just a chinese crap mobile

  • Yes

  • Great Phone, if you use it for watching movies, music & internet. NICE SCREEN SIZE, fits in your pocket easily and cute. Battery is all right. (way better than other budget smart phones) RAM will not be a problem. For internet, movies, music & most of the apps. 1GB is enough. If you are someone who is always in a hurry, someone who needs to get things done REAL FAST. Then 1 GB will not be enough. Whatever you do, DO NOT UPDATE android ! ! ! It slows down the phone.

  • Yes.

  • Which of the applications replacing the LED notification diode works with this phone?

  • Does Redmi Go have Cast or miracast?

  • Does it have the regular Play store? Can it run Easy Voice Recorder (or some other voice recording app)?

  • thank you

  • You don't need any app to do the screenshot, you just need to press and hold power and volume down key simultaneously to some sec.

  • Yes

  • ...........2013 and2014 phone style

  • The phone is very good and affordable. I have just bought one.

  • The one being sold in my the county I'm in and the one my friend bought was already Android Pie

  • I've eagerly been waiting to know that if it gets android 9 or not. Let me know...

  • you have redmi 7a with these specs, expect battery, that is 4000mah

  • Can i install the yotube app in this phone? Not the youtube go

  • If only Xiaomi put SD439 and 5k mAh battery and 2GB RAM, this would've been an excellent phone.

  • Well its not android one for full stock Android go oem can custumize on their own way Android go is just andriod OS made for low end device with go apps from Google

  • If you are looking for a smartphone, -small enough to fit comfortably in the pocket. -to use whatsapp,fb etc. -to watch some movies offline/online and some youtube. -cheap, so you don't have to worry about losing or breaking the phone. then, this is the perfect choice. My parents have been using redmi go for the above purposes and so far, they are satisfied.

  • It's listed on Google Android Go website so I don't what genuity you're talking about.

  • What i want to know before i buy this smartphone Does this device can update to Android 9 (Go Edition)?

  • seems like this is a good candidate for hotspot or standby emergency phone

  • Very correct absolutely, they are all complaining as if they didn't see high-end phone. This phone does exactly what I want it to do for me.

  • please don't buy this phone. It hangs because only 500-570 MB RAM is available for use. Many applications take very long to open. Not good for multitasking

  • Many people use this phone and not all of their redmi go hang, i think that was a human error by human stupidness...

  • If you wanna play a game, don't buy this phone... This phone made for people who need a phone to communication by internet... Be smart man...

  • Simply one of the best budget phone out there. Very good battery life. I get 2 days of usage. I mainly use for WhatsApp, YouTube. As for games I have mobile legends, asphalt extreme, boom Beach, dead trigger. Thanks to the snapdragon processor. If you really on a tight budget, go for this.

  • This is a nice phone. Try googling AOSP treble GSI. Works very well clean android 9.0 (pie) without any tracking!

  • It's not a genuine Android Go phone. Xiaomi adds little customization and apps as well. It also hangs quite a bit. Not recommended.

  • Its a nice phone the price

  • Nokia 8 too, it was so bad I had to replace it with a Xiaomi A1 and so far I'm satisfied.

  • iPhones are always buggy at release.

  • Not exactly, only the 2, 3 and 9 PV have been known for this.

  • Nokia is known for churning out buggy smartphones. Probably because they just keep releasing new phones instead of easing up on producing new models and focusing on reliability of their current models.

  • Get a Nokia 2.2 instead, or the 1 Plus, at least you get 2 years of updates and great durability.

  • Kinda like it, due to specs and using Android Go, it really budget smartphone. My data never ran out fast like the others and It has enough juice to play some simple games

  • Does redmi go support picture in picture?

  • Hang Hang Hang and only Hang

  • what is good from these.. (Huawei Y5 Lite, Xiaomi Redmi Go, Nokia 1 Plus)

  • It can play Area of vailor LOL

  • Anyone else having issues with the security update?

  • Can it play minecraft even on lowest settings?

  • Good for daily use like WhatsApp,We chat,SMS,phone call and ....!Not for gaming.Easy buy and easy use!

  • Android GO is limited to 1GB, but internal storage.. There is Redmi Go with 16/1GB combo, and price is only 10 euros more, than 8/1GB.

  • No it does not support 2 4G sim

  • I am using this phone since it's launch and till date I have had no problem. - battery goes on for 2 days for me ( after using it for calls, messages and internet) - no lag or anything for day to day working - YouTube go works equally fine and smooth - had to download call recorder - compact and light - works very well as a Hotspot and only 1 sim card supports 4G. But using any graphics intensive app will result in lag and slow down. Hence don't expect to play games on it. Else it's a great phone with nice light OS. Those complaining about it probably have not understood this budget phone.

  • Can this phone can be used as wifi hotspot with 2 4G sim cards?

  • A very bad device overall

  • They should have made a 16GB ROM + 2GB RAM variant of this...

  • Sad, but this is not a phone to use to judge xioami. Trust me they build very good phones that are durable and are beasts when it comes to performance. This phone is a basic phone and at that price, you can't really expect much from it. Try other higher Xiaomi phones and thank me later.

  • You can play subway surfers, asphalt 8, temple run, angry birdy etc.. But this phone is not for gaming, this phone have (only) 1gb of ram, did you see sprc before purchase? Also, its a 60$ phone, so yea, for better phone you need to pay more. Redmi 7 is better phone with more ram, better processor, better battery, but cost 50 euros more. If you're ok with size of reemi 7, sell Redmi go and buy good budget phone, Resmi 7

  • This is a low end phone meant for normal tasks like calling, WhatsApp and normal social networking. This is not meant for gaming at all. So stop complaining and understand that you have chosen a wrong phone.

  • Me too, it's really annoying

  • Does it have notification LED? Thanks

  • Bought the phone on Jumia. And arrived well withing delivery time. Have used the phone for less than 15 minutes but now the application for making calls keep crushing asking for a restart. I will definitely return this device. This error am seeing looks like it's from the factory. My first Xiaomi phone and am not buying any device from the manufacturer again.

  • this phone sucks. i can not play games rightly. i think i am crazy because i bought this phone. heh! i obviously wasted my money

  • nokia 2 is better than xiaomi redmi go.but i advise you to buy nokia 2.1 not nokia 2

  • nokia 2 is better than xiaomi go. but nokia 2.1 is the best

  • ha ha! you are crazy.this phone doesn't support otg

  • Pros Good Camera. Good Software and UI. Durable Battery Life. Light weight. Clean and loud Calling sounds. Language is Right. Have Multi-touch up to 3 fingers. Cons Not for gaming users. Not for multi-tasking users. No quick charge or fast charging and full charge up to 3 hr 11min. No call recording or screen shot built in and need to use other apps. Overall conclusions One of best budget phone to buy.

  • Nokia 2 is OK due to battery life

  • You can get HMD (Nokia 2.1) for 45 euros here (still about 50-55$), thats a cheaper "brand" android (go) phone, with 425.. 30-40$ is, again HMD-Nokia 3310 from 2017..

  • Is Auto call recording option available in redmi go

  • overpriced . maaximum 40$ for this specs

  • Well it's a 62$ on aliexpress with free screen protector, so for that price i think its good phone for calls and messages, and here and there WhatsApp or similar apps. Battery is good, speed of UI also (for 1GB of ram), cameras.. well in daylight ok. Build, yes its plastic, but robust plastic. In blue looks way better. Support otg, we can uninstall fb lite, miui forum apps. But best of all, its compact phone (by today standards).

  • xhn, urs is the BEST ANSWER SO FAR to those UNINITIATED !!! Android Go is Google’s lightweight mobile platform that has been designed to run on lower system specifications than usual. It’s aimed at developing markets and lower-income areas, where people own devices with poor processors and smaller amounts of RAM. At such low specifications, Google had to rework some applications to optimize them to work within smaller RAM constraints. Thus the Android Go applications were born.

  • yes it supports otg.Check youtube and I have also redmi go and it supports otg.

  • $100 is NOT good price, neither is "about 80 euros". This device has been advertised as costing $65 which is realistic. Anything more and you should be looking into adding a bit of money and getting a (much) better phone. :)

  • no it is not supports OTG!!

  • Yes it support otg.

  • Unlikely but Nokia phones with 1gb of ram gets pie go update

  • Does it support OTG?

  • Is it possible to install stock Xiaomi wheather app (sideload) in this Redmi go with Mint launcher. Does it work? Thanks.

  • Why xiaomi redmi go. Will you play longer or even a while it will in home screen. Redmi group help me. Pls!

  • How much RAM is free after reboot????

  • Please guide me, how to activate wifi hotspot in Redmi GO

  • my new mobile redmi go and this is very beautifully looking and nyc phone in low prize thanks, redmi group

  • Please guys I need your help, redmi go or Nokia 2 which is better. I need a phone to use as hotspot.

  • you don't even understand "Android GO" concept do you?

  • highly unlikely, especially for such a low-end phone.

  • It will be upgraded to Android Pie Go?

  • Nope Redmi Go will not play normal pubg

  • do go editions get updated like 9.0 go?

  • Can I use the SD card as storage where I can put obb or data file of any apps and run it without any problem? I means, "can this mobile write or access data or obb file of any apps from SD card? Does this phone has any option like this? "

  • Not really not everyone installs 100 apps ! fine for calls/text/ google photos cloud. $100 is good price. back up phone even. move messenger lite to sd card too.

  • Agree $100 bucks snapdragon ok 8GB but move apps to SD, IPS LCD display too! ive seen way worse! some people dont want to pay $1000 to just text call.

  • For all you people moaning about poor specs, Apple had low memory in comparison to a lot of Android devices in the past but they optimised their software and the OS was smooth, while Android's was poor in a lot of instances. This phone will be running a scaled down version of Andriod and I think it will be decent experience. Specs don't matter as much as software optimisation.

  • Bought yesterday .Seems good phone in PKR 11400

  • I cannot wait for you to be proven wrong ... Did you even look at the price?

  • Redmi Go what are you doing Xiaomi ... In this phone atleast you guys should give 2GB Ram & 16GB Internal Memory. This phone will be flop... Guys don't spoil ur name...

  • Hotspot

  • 10.or D from last year with SD430,2 GB RAM,13MP Rear Camera at Rs.4,999 was a better option than this

  • Hi Will the phone lag if the only apps on heavy duty use would be used, ola, zomato and swiggy? Also Is this a better choice or Asus zenfone lite l1 or redmi 6a? I kept reading about E and 10. Which phones are they? 😢

  • So far , this phone price at 3500 on phillipines compare to other phone's in this , XiaomiRedmi Go has a good performance and affordable phone with a Snapdragon Chipset that support by Cortex , and also has a 3K bat ... capacity .

  • fon? wth are talking about? the correct term is phone ffs. low specs? you don't even understand what android "GO" mean is it? price? so far this is one of the best budget phone under 100$. already sold well in my country.

  • Compare with Redmi 5A You can call Redmi 5A mini

  • It's at Oreo GO. No Idea when will it be upgraded to Pie GO. Instead I opted for installing GO edition custom ROM on my 2015 Moto G 3 and turbo. With 2 GB ram and GO version, things work buttery smooth. And yes it Pie GO version. I think I will continue at least for a year with these old handsets (or till I keep getting updates of GO versions) This arrangement works better than buying a new phone just for GO experience.

  • It's just been one week only My Dad's the best of Redmi GO Simple UI And perfect for all ages

  • This fon is gonna be flop ,low specifications with high price.

  • please share information about camera result.

  • No You Cant You Need A Powerful High End Expensive Phone Like The iPhone XS Or Recently Released Samsung Galaxy S10

  • yes i'm used this mobile ...i got it from china website around 3800 cost i spend on it's really good or budget and the Ui is simple ...definitely useful for Indian old people they can simple use this one.....its not for gaming and heavy usage apps it's simply for backup mobile just compare with budget in this range this is the superb choice.....

  • good

  • No

  • no you can't i have watched some reviews on youtube and pubg did not run

  • Nope, This will only be able to play PUBG Lite. which is similar but different game. You wont be able to play the game with your friends who are using normal PUBG Mobile game.

  • nokia 1 plus has larger but a weaker screen.Lower resolution means less sharp. Also it has weaker battery power. So i wouldn't count on 1 plus.Redmi Go on the other hand is indeed a beast of a budget phone.Display has great viewing angles, camera is surprisingly good. And better than a lot of Samsung devices like The new M20,M10, J4.

  • Life is more than just PUBG.just get yourself out of this mess while you can

  • Can I play PUBG in this?

  • I am going to buy one next week.perhaps the black color? the blue one looks cheap af

  • It runs basic apps like WhatsApp, Chrome, etc., some larger apps crashed occasionally. I turned mine on (with WiFi connected & 4G) , left it there from 7am and checked again at 5pm and saw only 3% battery drain so as a second phone battery life is awesome!

  • Picked up 2 for my two young kids yesterday as emergency phones, must say it's very useable for basic usage. UI very smooth most of the time, larger apps takes long to run and sometimes crash so wouldn't bet on it for gaming.

  • gonna buy my back up phone soon, this or nokia 1 plus? 🤔

  • Lol. It can't even play low end games smoothly.

  • such a nice phone for a normal user.. i'm ggoonna buy i

  • i have a simple question - can i use some basic app i.e. whats app / we chat/ and make video call ..how is the battery performance

  • Does redmigo supports move applications to sdcard?

  • Redmi Go

  • Hello guys... enough talking... anybody uses this phone? I need a practical opinion from a user, who us currently using this.

  • just got me a hisense infinity e9, 2gb ram, 16gb rom, with fingerprint scanner and face unlock. very affordable phone. r1999-00, it runs so smooth and can play any high end games smoothly. i give it a 10 out of 10.

  • When Samsung uses a SoC in their budget phones, it means it is outdated and very low cost. That's how they maintain industry-leading profit margins.

  • Which is better one? 1.redmi go . 2. Galaxy j2 prime.

  • Maybe you're in "smartphone world", thats good for you, but like you see, you need to learn more :D 3x, there is no Android Go version of that "smartphone" from your world with more than (only) 1GB of RAM memory, and that was my fist comment to you (this is also last).. If you still don't belive, just look at Nokia 1 Plus, smartphone from 2019, with (GO) Pie out of box, that phobe is also limited (like rest GO phones) to 1GB. If you don't like it, there is a phones with full os versions with 2,3,6,8 (soon with 12) GB of RAM. It seems you need to learn to accept fact :P Have a nice day.

  • Also I'm not planning to get this smartphone, just trying to help others,it u now what that mean.

  • I'm not spreed desinformation. Everything what I said is on gsmarena. But u are one nervous boy with complex. I now what go edition is u low iq person, but are to nervous for discussion. I am in smartphone world far more than u,so go comment something else, this is not place for u. Also I'm not fan of any company.

  • Im relaxed, and you, next time when you want to spread desinformation here, try fist to acknowledge yourself, before post such a nonsense comments android go 2,3gb ram blah blah.. Its better (for you) to save some money and buy normal phone with normal spec for 2019 :D Even Xiaomi have couple of them if you're fan of Xiaomi (but not of MIUI because this phone does not run anything similar to that custom rom).

  • Yea yea, relax, u will get heart attack.

  • Oh, Xiaomi... If Android One is optimized to work with 1 GB RAM, it doesn't matter, that you must make phone with only 1 GB RAM in 2019. Actually, it's cutted version of old Redmi 4A or 5A in new body and with new OS, but it doesn't cost $100.

  • You're right there is plenty phones with similar price (87-80$) from 2018, but at least with 16/2gb combo. Even Xiaomi have 5a, 6a, 6 (3/32gb) for similar price. On the other hand, Nokia 2.1 (also Android Go phone) here cost 45 euros, unlocked... So guess this Redmi Go, will be soon in that price (or even cheaper). But my point was than Android Go phones 'only' have 512mb or 1gb max RAM memory. Internal storage is also limited to 16gb (most of them have 8gb), and thats because od Google limitation for Go versions, not OEMs.. Maybe that will change in the future (with Android Pie Go phones out of box), but for now, thats is what it is.

  • Well thats a phone maker and model, you claim that is Go version, not me.

  • Android Go edition is G552KL with only 1 Gb of RAM. Anyway, Asus here is only in PC segment, nobady buys Asus phones here, because of, well Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Sony, Honor, even Xiaomi.. It seems you dont know difference between Android Go and Androidone devices. But yiu must know this, if is there any chance for 2,3,4GB of RAM, Xiaomi Redmi Go will be at keast with 2.

  • Crappy phone. You might want to check out the Moto E5 Play from last year: Double the RAM, more storage, pure Android, higher quality materials, better Bluetooth, front facing flash and worldwide compatible bands. You can probably find it dirt cheap for being a last year model.

  • I new that I saw some 2 gb model but I couldn't find it.Maybe is mistake of gsmarena again.Better check.

  • Do you know there is phone called Asus ZenFone Live (L1) ZA550KL?

  • Yeah.... right, I agree with you.

  • Mistake of gsmarena.I not open that Lava phone on YouTube (why would I),that is cra...py smartphone maker, which not sell on my continent. Thanks for sharing that information anyway.

  • It seems that you dont understand. Android Go phone (not androidone) is limited to 1GB of RAM, because of Google, not only Nokia 1, Nokia 2.1, Alcatel 1, but also Xiaomi Redmi Go... I see you read spec (here) of that phone from India. But, you must know, sometimes, even GSMArena made mistakes.. Anyway that phone, Lava Z92 indeed runs on 8.1, but it's not Go edition, its custom Star OS 5.1 You can find out more here in review.

  • One of them is Lava Z92 and have 3 gb ram and Oreo go edition.Happy?!

  • If you dont like it, dont buy it. There is many people want to buy this phone like kids and other. If you think this is not good in 2019, just leave it. Buy other phone. Simple

  • What phone? Can you name it?

  • Android go is not limited with 1 gb ram. There is fon with go and 2 gb ram.

  • .. and one more (important) thing. Android 'GO' is limited to one GB or RAM, i guess you know, but, there is no Android GO phone with 2GB or more od RAM.. maybe thats was a case with Go editions with 8.1 OREO preinstalled, but, thats is. Maybe those upcoming GO phones with PIE (9.0) out of box will have more than 1GB, but i doubt. Thats Google limitation, not OEMs.

  • My opinion is that Xiaomi did this with 'go' version of phone, because they want to be everywhere. They have custom skin on their phones (some of them with double ram and internal storage are cheaper and have better spec than this Redmi 'go' - Redmi 6a is example), they have androidone phones (3 of them one from 2017, two from 2018), and now they even separete Xiaomi (MI) and Redmi brand, so in this year there will be even more phones from tgat company, same or similar models, mostly in midrange segment.. And about this phone and those spec 1gb, 8gb SD425, 5" screen.. well, yes it is not great phones, its similar to Nokia 2.1 (just smaller screen, and without stereo speakers). I think this phone will be soon 50 euros (Nokia 2.1 is now 45 euros unlocked via operators in EU).

  • You need a touch tv.i think this is a best compect phone.sony xz1c

  • should have been 2 gigs of ram and a 4000mah battery

  • Xiaomi made a mistake this time and it's about time that their fanbase (or fanboys if you like) will hold them accountable and not spare them this time. This phone have spec that no one should have use in 2019, and even if you find my someone who think that 1GB RAM, 8GB/16GB ROM, Snapdragon 425, 720p screen 5.0 inch size... which is not even the bare minumum at 2019 as for as I considered. This phone will cost 80EUR, which at this price you can buy the LeEco Le 2 X526 whichi have better spec all over and will beat this phone hands down: 3GB RAM/64GB ROM/Snapdragon 652, which is 10 times better combo (usubale for a change) better camera (16mp, and not just because of more megapixels...)/5.5 inch with FHD/support quick charge and so on. Now this phone cost something like 89EUR, in the most cases this kind of phone will be slightly expensive, but even with bigger price diffrences every penny is worth it, the diffrence in day to day use will be huge. today even the tightest budget smartphones that cost 52-67EUR will have 2GB of ram (and they will come with stock near-clean android). And yes, I understand the Redmi Go use the 'Android Go' edition, which should run faster with only 1GB of ram, it should be optimized to death and obviously will be limited with options. But in my opinion, it does not matter what you will do to Android os. 1GB of ram will never be sufficient for normal use of smartphone with limited of application and so on. So please for a change say what's wrong with this device. In my country I describe many users as cheerleading band of Xiaomi which can not criticize Xiaomi, but they pet them in the news-media and hype up everything Xiaomi (good) news.

  • Should have been this processor... Memory too low... at 2019 and still using this and that..... Do you know anything about making phones? I'm very sure most of you haven't tried this phone yet. JUST SHUT UP!!!

  • Exactly. They are targeting people in rural areas, people who have limited budgets to spend on smartphones. This is brilliant from a marketing perspective. Oppo and Vivo, have a lot of physical stores in my country, you name it, malls, kiosks, they have a presence. But their products are not priced competitively, unlike xiaomi. Heck, they don't even have an android go phone. They may have physical stores that reach the provinces, but can the people from the provinces buy an oppo or a vivo? enter the redmi go.

  • Yeah it may look like a joke, but people from rural areas will not care if the soc is 28nm or 7nm. As long as they can use it to access the internet and social media.

  • You have to look at the big picture, they probably have a lot of sd 425's in stock, from their redmi 4a and 5a, to have them move their inventory by making this redmi go is a smart move on their part. Also, the target of this is not your typical working class employee, this is targeted at people who live in rural areas, who are switching from a feature (basic) phone to their first smart phone.

  • You have to understand from a marketing perspective who the target audience for this is. People from rural areas, the provinces, who are buying their first smartphone, coming from a feature phone. This is another smart move from Xiaomi. This market is largely untapped. Expect them to sell a lot of these.

  • Yep to small. But, so you know and Android Go phone with 2GB of RAM? Nop, because, Google itself limits Go versions to 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.

  • They said ½ GB of ram is enough to run a phone with Android GO. But you may not install any app larger than 20mb of size.

  • Who will need the phone with internal storage 8GB RAM 1GB and low perfomance of CPU in this decade ?

  • in Malaysia previously also had thief, but we hit them by group and viral them in social media. now the crime is reducing. hahaha

  • 28nm chipset in 2019 is a joke

  • In my country Philipines we use secondary mobile or we called it backup phone because we use lots of sim cards and my country lots of thief so we dont display much of our main mobile phone..

  • What is the bangladeshi price of xiaomi redmi go?

  • Yes I know about that so whats your point. For me this SD425 is to old to been used in 2019 smartphone. There is plenty SD4XX series Xiaomi can used for this phone like SD427, SD429, SD430, SD435 but why must use SD425 why not use newer chipset like SD429 ? To me because Xiaomi already buy this chipset in bulks like they did with SD625. I bet not just SD425 been reused this year but also the SD625.

  • Snapdragon 425 was used in Redmi 4A, 5A, Moto E5, J2 2018, Nokia 2.1, J4+ and J6+

  • This is first xiaomi android go phone

  • Yes but only in rear camera

  • MI global says it can shoot 1080 video↓ Is it right?

  • They are also targeting poor mans in poor countries I'm pretty sure that in some parts of the world having a smartphone is a big deal

  • You have to understand from a marketing point of view who they are targeting with these. Probably people who are just starting to use smart phones, changing from a feature phone to a smart phone. It's not really for the regular people who work in offices and work in cities. Hence the specs of 1gb ram and a skinned version of android.

  • They should've used sd 429 with 4.5 inch, 480 x 960 display. It would've been a killer combo

  • It's Android Go edition phone(search it) hence low specs.. In other words a ''disposable'' to use for some time or have as spare. Worth to mention that it uses Android Go apps and System which uses lower memory, resources and ram than standard one.

  • 1gb ram and 8gb rom is Too small

  • 1gb of ram????!!!

  • I believe that a grate portion of the world prefers 16:9 instead of this crappy 19:9/18,5:9/19:9. My spare phone is 18:9, I don't really like it, it's too tall and hard to use even though I relatively have big hands! At least I got used to it! :/

  • Redmi 6A has no LTE band 28. I will buy a Redmi Go because of that. And also as my secondary phone for call and text and light FB and Messenger. That's all. Besides I have my Pocophone for heavy usage.

  • Agree the storage should be minimum 16GB

  • PHP 3,990.00

  • Nokia will soon have a Nokia 1 Plus with android go 9 and a more fashionable 18:9 screen, probably a better deal.

  • Why would anyone buy this while for 90€ you can get the redmi 6A, android go or not, there should be no smartphone with 8Go of internal storage in 2019 and at this price!

  • Make it below EUR50 I will buy 2 but with this price I wont buy.

  • Why Xiaomi not use a newer chipset like Snapdragon 429 which it built on 12nm fabrication ?Why still come with Android Oreo 8.1 Go Edition why not come with Android Pie 9.0 Go Edition ? A phone with SD425 at price EUR80 right now is quite over price especially with Android Go Edition specs.

  • Sorry, perhaps I have mistaken on battery capacity, I thought it was 2000 mAh or some sh*t, at least 3000 mAh will support one day for heavy usage. 3.5 inch oh godddddd....., what the? .My sister with her small hand and fingers is using 6.4 inch Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Its battery is one of the best, outstanding performance, its camera also very nice. A good product from Xiaomi

  • >Make it under 50 EUR,I will buy one. 1 GB of RAM can only for messaging and browsing. You will not going anywhere with that such memory. Inadequate battery capacity, even worse with 5 inch display. Minimum screen for optimum usage is about 6 inch now... 1gb ram is plenty if you dont have too many apps open, its god damn android go edition 3000mah is way more than enough 6" display is wayyyy too big, and so is 5" anyway, the optimal phone screen size is 3.5" tl;dr i really dont like you

  • Make it under 50 EUR,I will buy one. 1 GB of RAM can only for messaging and browsing. You will not going anywhere with that such memory. Inadequate battery capacity, even worse with 5 inch display. Minimum screen for optimum usage is about 6 inch nowadays.

  • 1 Gb ram is too low

  • yes bro, of course people who new to android would like to do those thing!

  • it can eat all the market again with any 14 nm (sd 450 or another 14 nm processor or close) processor, 2 gb ram + android go, hd screen and 3k+ mah battery but xiaomi just dont get it, imagine the battery lafi when screen hd (amoled if managable)+ 14nm proccessor, its like whooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Looks like the Redmi 4A and 5A rebranded as Android Go.

  • Who ask for a less memory version of redmi 5A with oreo? you better buy the redmi 6A.

  • Really? In my country(Greece) the cheapest one(Nokia 2.1) I found was 100 euro! To be honest I would have been better if it had 16GB storage, 2GB RAM(But still have the GO Edition Android) and 4000mAh battery for a slightly higher price! *And a slightly better SOC, like the Snapdragon 429!

  • Maybe it was in May 2018, but we are in february 2019, almost.. Just saying Nokia 2.1 is 45 euros with 4 euros on new sim card. Sim free, in Slovenia, because, nobady wants that for 90 or more euros. 1GB of RAM is 1GB

  • Battery life will be great. 720p Screen, SD425 processor and 3000mAh battery (most phones with this screen and processor have 2400-2700mAh), expect 2 days of heavy use.

  • You guys are spoilt with your high-end phones. I have had 3 phones with 8GB storage and 1GB RAM. A Class 10 SD Card solves the storage issue. Learn how to optimize your phones by turning off unnecessary features, disabling useless apps and speeding up animations. 1GB RAM is perfectly fine, anything lower is bad. Also, close apps you are not gonna use, many people don't do this. My dad is still using the Galaxy J5 from 2015, he told me that he would keep this phone for another 2 years as it is perfect for him. The Snapdragon 4xx series is good enough, just avoid the 2xx series, they perform worse than the Exynos 4210, especially the 210 (the 200 is better than the 210 but not the 212).

  • The phone is great in low budjet . But worried to its battery back up. :\

  • Nailed it😂😂

  • 16gb,2gb must.

  • Nokia 2.1 official price is 120€

  • hahahahahah ...... good one

  • 8gb ROM??? Not enough for my parents to store 'Good Morning' photos.

  • I completely agree with you. Xiaomi's entire premise is to undercut the competition by offering better specs and a lower price.(Also, I think 480p and a 4.6 inch screen combined with sd 429 would be a very decent combination for the price)

  • Well for certain people a Go edition is eoutstanding. This one with pricetag of 60 should be awesome.

  • I wonder why xioami use the aging Snapdragon 425 (28nm) in 2019. I think this phone deserve at least Snapdragon 429 (12nm).

  • Nokia 2.1 (also 'go' version) is 45 euros, new and unlocked with 4 euros sim card included (so, phone only is 41 euro).. Those phones with 1gb ram (and only 5gb free space) is for someone who dont use more than 3-4 apps on smartphone.

  • Android Go is a joke. Having some experience with Android go, the small optimizations that are available aren't even good compared to the sluggish experience and terrible performance.

  • Don't know if this is a Xiaomi or just Redmi sub-brand but those pics have a MI logo on the back so little confusing why include both names hahaa

  • I'm a sucker for those low-budget phones, I find it quite interesting to see how low specs can get while still offering a "good enough" user experience. I'm especially curious how WhatsApp, Signal and similar messengers will perform on this phone, especially if push is going to work reliably.

  • Support OTG or not?

  • 1gb ram? Ok it's not MIUI

  • Guys can l set up regular youtube, facebook from the store or just the go versions?

  • No you can't it depends on the region in my country second hand phone cost only a little bit less than original price

  • for 50 euros, it would be actually a nice buy for my grandma... it will probably cost 80 at start though.. cant imagine 50 euros price for a anew phone at any retailer

  • This smartphone is not for gaming, it's for people that can't buy costly smartphones or people that will only call with a little phone.

  • What games? 8 gb of internal memory! You install 1 little game and that's it. Ahaha

  • if it can be more compact size, ill buy it,,, i hate large smartphone,, my ip se still the best for my hand lol

  • Agree. People complain too much. It's about 50 freaking euros. A flight costs way more than that here from my city to the capital

  • Dont forget 1gb was normal for budget phones in android 4.2,4.3,4.4. This android go is nothing but a way for manufacturers to sell overpriced 1gb ram phones. For 60 euro you can get a decent 2nd hand phone with 3gb ram with no limited os.

  • Totally agree with you.

  • If it lags, then it's YOUR problem, not the phone. Don't install a shite ton of apps and bloatware, problem solved. I still have the Moto G 2013 with the SD400. Didn't install any apps and still incredibly fluid.

  • But snapdragon 425 should be a very good chipset and capable even of playing games (Samsung uses it in the 200 dollar j6+) Also 1gb of ram is very decent since this phone uses android go Really phones became very capable nowadays and even cheap ones can do everything you want

  • You can't make use of any of those features if you don't have a decent processor and ram. Imagine trying to open the contacts and this shit starts lagging.

  • U are ridiculous. This is perfect phone for older, children's,for job or like a second one. Also is great for basic stuff and someone needs just that.

  • Or for poor who can't afford a more expensive ogone but still use it for games even if it lags a lot

  • Or grown-ups, who don't use a phone for playing video-games all day long. It's almost hard to believe, but some people only need telephone, address book, messages, social apps, and banking. Graphics performance doesn't matter, and camera is just an extra.

  • Smartphone for kids

  • once its cheap its evevrything is ok lol

  • 8gb are you serious ?

  • Tbh,for 50 eur this is fine. Yeah there is the Redmi lineup and other phones from Xiaomi that are already cheap, but this will be fine for older people as long as it's stock android then yeah. For this price its fine, size is fine, camera is fine and the rest it like it should be. 3,000mAh for an Android - Go phone is more than enough.
