Screen is just good, good contrast, fine colours, you can use it in daylight...Just GREAT Machine for less then 200€ For that amount of money THE BEST u can buy. NOw camera... i got samsung camera and it's just not that good. Back one is fine at day, but at night, it's crap. Just crap, tottaly unusable. You get vertical (dark blue) lines on every dark place in picture and it's not that clear. When you use HHT (like low light mode ) you get nothing. Just that those vertical lines are soften so it makes them less visible but they still are there. And Recently i discovered that it's getting much better when you turn on HDR. But shutter is opened for more time and you must keep your hand still. Not soable at night... In low light conditions hdr can make your picture better. After all, this is one of the best buy phones on market. I bought it 2 years ago and have no problem with games, software, compatibility, udpates with google... Great phone but not for camera lovers.

  • yes, there is. go to settings > about phone > click on the MIUI version several times till you become a developer. Once you become a developer. > go to additional settings >turn on usb debugging. >once you've turned it on you should be able to transfer files from the internal memory or sd card (if you have one) freely. just click on the dropdown on the notifications bar and select MTP transfer files. > you should be able to see your internal memory and sd card on your pc for you to be able to transfer files.

  • I had mine for 1yr and 4mos.. Bought it December 2017. Had fun with it, only problem I had is that I bought it not knowing there's two variant, an Snapdragon and Mediatek. I mistakenly bought mediatek. Only problem I had with it is its battery Life, fully charged, battery will last approximately 2hrs of full use with mobile data on. Also choose only Global ROM, or else you'll probably loose telcom reception.

  • Hi (moze i na bosanskom, al pravila) I have the same phone and the problem it's due a recently updated app. Google duo. I went back to unistal that app and disabled automated updates of it and fixed the battery drain.

  • Hi(mogu i na srpskom,ali pravila); maby something drains your battery,some instaled app or game,trust me sometimes even a different theme (if u change your theme) can drain battery a lot; try some of these tips by deinstaling bad apos or themes,if this doesnt help you then perform factory reset.Let me know what u ve done because i want this one.

I had received a prompt to update my software but i had rejected for few times in a row, was kind of frustrated becaused of the few times it had prompted me. In the end, i had ticked on the "DO NOT ASK AGAIN BOX". after that, i was not able to use the SMSes Message as it had locked my usage for the SMSes Messages box. Can i ask, is there a way to undo the effects so that I'm able to use the SMSes Messaging again? Please helps, thank you...:-)

  • I got one of these a few months ago, and am absolutely stunned by it. The battery life is *insane*, as much as i don't really use my phone at a phone much, i'm often checking emails on it (wifi is always on, and my phone is the only thing that i have setup to notify me of new emails), checking my bank balance, watching the occasional twitch stream, listening to audible for a few hours a night, etc - and with this usage, the battery lasts a full week (168 hours) between charges, and still never drops below 20%. The screen is great too, I switched to this from a Samsung S6 Edge which had a sexy OLED display, so I was concerned going back to LCD would look terrible, but nope, its one of the best LCD displays i've used. The only downside is the camera, its certainly passable, but my Samsung took much nicer looking photos.

  • You are experiencing that problem because you're in MIUI 9.5.X.. They remove third party themes in the update and you can only apply from those coming from the theme store..

  • Great phone, but the in call volume at maximum is so soft Can hardly hear the other callers voice, tried cleaning my earpiece grill but makes no difference, Tons of people experiencing this issue as per the Miui forum, kindly Search low earpiece Volume, im on the Latest Miui Rom, being able to hear the other caller is a basic requirement of any phone, will appreciated any advice on how to try and fix this issue.

  • Yes a big difference. Don't go for the 16gb as I did, I am left with 1.5gb memory since I use dual SIM. Kindly go for the 32gb.

  • For the price you can't really complain. If you want a phone that has a great camera you're gonna have to pay for more. With regards to your question redmi 5 is better if we talk about performance. I would recommend you check Mi A1 and Redmi Note 5 pro it has an improve camera than Redmi Note 4x and you'll also get Android Oreo with those phone.

  • You can place it in a VR headset but 1080p is not enough for a good VR experience. It will look pixelated through the glasses. Also its not Google Daydream compatible.

  • This device is incredible at its price point. Very fast and with a great battery. It outdoes Nokia 5 &6, Samsung J7 pro among others. I performed 2 benchmarks and the scores are: Antutu 7- 76,246 Basemark OS 2.0- 1179 The Snapdragon 625 is a great midrange SOC. Though benchmarks don't always point to real life use, they do prove a point. Xiaomi are doing a great job with this device.

  • Stay away from this phone! Hello, i am owning redmi note 4x mtk version. I choosed mtk because it had more powerful processors than the snap dragon one. But now my opinion is MTK version is a Chinese replica of an Chinese phone. 1. Mtk one Doesn't event receives updates that snapdragon version gets. Fells like they produced this device mistakenly. 2. All updates comes to Europe years after the China version. 3. Absurdly no support if you don't know Chinese. Europen forums trying to do something but very week. Most of the questions unanswered. 4. To unlock the phone you have to write a personal letter to Mi company. Im not joking. Even after getting permission 1 week later when i try to unlock the phone. It said i need to wait 72 hours without no reason. On your first unlock try it always does that. 5-Battery is depleting 1 day on average usage. Don't let 4100 mah fakes you its like 1k battery. When i unplug it 100% it gets to 85% in one hours even i don't touch it. Resetted, tried different firmwares, battery settings etc. nothing works. 6- BLUETOOTH not working and everybody has this problem. Headphones constantly unconnecting. i have 3 Bluetooth headphones and 1 Tomtom sport watch all having connection issues that impossible to listen music. I tried every guides on forums to fix that, security, app permissions settings etc. nothing helps. Even can't play local mp3 normal. Don't let these Chinese specs. fake you. All cheap trash dumped in this phone and no support. Better buy a fake iphone with android then this one.

  • If you have the Snapdragon version you can go up to 7.0 Nougat, but if you have the MTK version, 6.0 Marshmellow is the maximum. A lot of stores sell the 4X with an MTK processor.

Phone has been sent to Lithuania and back to Latvia three times. They say that it is possible to change only to used spare part (screen module).   • I have this phone for 2 months and its the almost perfect midranger, Great specs. Endless battery life. Great specs: Snapdragon 625 is fast enough, 4Gb RAM and 64Gb storage are more than enough for my average needs. Screen is crisp and colors great. Build is solid and nice. The only thing i regret is that it doesnt come with Gorilla glass and temper glass cover is a must. In less than 200usd is the better choice than Motorola. PD The user experience with the latest MIUI is surprisingly good, or like me you can get an almost stock Android experience with Google Launcher.

  • I got latest original XiaoMi Redmi Note 4X, 3GB/32GB/Gold. It came with front camera, 5MP (Samsung S5K5E8 BSI CMOS sensor); rear camera, 13MP (OmniVision OV13855). Rear camera was the worst if compare to my previous Huawei using Sony IMX Lens. Front took clear picture than rear. If compare from 1st batch till latest. The best was SONY > SAMSUNG. OmnVision was the worst camera lens, totally a failure, it was blur and broken pixel quality of picture.

BUT - The stock launcher SUCKS! I had to download an alternative launcher from google and I went and use Nova Launcher (y) Problem solved :) If you're here reading opinion about the phone before buying it, just go for it! Its really a great phone! :) 3GB ram, 32GB ROM, Snapdragon, what more do you want? Just make sure to check the phone throughoutly when you first buy it ;)

Focus not working fast enough, it's like using some cheap china made sensor. I guess we can't win at everything...   • I have one and after 3 months without problems, the screen started becoming black although the 3 buttons at the bottom were still lit up. The issue would start randomly and end randomly as well. Sent it back to be repaired but according to the email i got from them, the phone is fine. Don't buy it.

  • hi guys...my take on Xiaomi Redmi note 4X 3GB/16GB black 1st impressions...phone very solid well built and premium. Really like it currently miui 8.2.1.0....not yet update to the latest due to very many issues as posted in different forums. Everything is working very well, fast...no overheating Reception...since am in Kenya, am able to get 4G on Band 3 only as this phone lacks band 20....so no 4G for me in rural areas but in town 4G is present...full bars very fast. In rural areas, I get HSPA+ which has very fast speeds battery life is excellent.....been on 4G the whole day at work and it consumes only 3-4% Charging time takes around 2 hours to charge form 0% to full charge music through my sony xperia z ear buds..is just excellent/high quality...better than the xperia z. You need to activate is the equalizer in the settings Calls very clear... In general am impressed

First batch was Sony Sensor (Reviews!), then Samsung (which was worse, but still ok) and now the latest batch has an Omnivision Camera - which has faulty drivers which will result in Pink Photos, broken Manual Camera support and many 3rd-Party Roms leaving the Camera without functionality (unless especially ported).   • i was lucky to have a back camera sony sensor and front camera samsung. its very rare now. now almost all of them have omnivision sensor, which is worst.

  • this problem rises when a program is using cpu while charging. it happens on all cpu types but happens more on mediatek. turn off your phone before charging and check the Ch time. if your phone turns on automatically when charging starts, simply turn it off when it is charging it won't start again now check the Ch time. it should be less than 3 hrs.

  • all version has (both 32/64) sony sensor.t here is actually 3 types of sensor. sony, samsung and omnivision. in online purcharse you have to be lucky. but in shop you can check it by settings then multiple click kernel version then see version information. if imx258, its sony and if it is s5k5e8 its samsung.

  • bought it yesterday. upgrated to nougat. not a single problem. this phone is great within 14k bdt budget. try to buy snapdragon version and if possible sony sensor. camera is above average with sony sensor. avoid omnivison. battery life is great and no heating issue.

  • Check by yourself here if u want my opinions (cause there is 2 camera sensor here and i already try two of them) here : imx258 is best for detail, night time (little noise) and more natural color when using flash. s5k3l8 is best for day time and landscape type (with many color in target) but low in night and little yellow when using flash. for front camera is good enough but Redmi 4X more better in front camera than this Note 4X (im compared with my friend phone)

  • As far as i know so much people having a problem with this device or some confused, so this some info: RN4X is RN4 with qualcomm chipset and selling for indian market.. this type come with 3/32GB and 4/64GB RAM/ROM. First-third batch using imx258 camera, and the next using s5k3l8 camera sensor (i got samsung sensor and my friend got sony sensor) and now the sensor is mixing (so, if u got sony u are lucky). We both dont have any issue with this device except heating when playing game and the price is dropped drasticaly.. So its up to you to buy this or not, but i think this device worth for that price.

  • hi there bro faizul, please be very careful on where will you buy xiaomi or other brand phones. not all seller are good and honest people. sometimes some of them selling refurbished or used phones as new ones without notice. i know cause besides i'm a xiaomi user i'm also a phone technician too. for example, one of my customer bought new redmi note 2 prime via online store. he complains that it's touch panel works slow and less responsive. all xiaomi phones has 10 fingers touch point while my customers redmi note 2 only has 5 fingers point on it's touch panel. now we know that the touch panel on it is not oem or original part from xiaomi. the phone is wheter refurbished or used that sold as new.

  • The charger might be at fault. The lower the voltage/amperage you receive, the slow it will charge. On the other hand the phone and charge may not be communicating right. You may have to try out a different charger with your phone or try your charger with another phone to see where the issue lies.

  • Yes, the screen and camera on the S7 are better. I even mentioned that in my post. However, the Redmi Note 4X still gives you more bang for the buck. The only times I miss the S7 are when I am taking photos in bright sunlight and when I take pictures in difficult lighting. I actually find Touchwiz much more annoying in daily use. MiUI is a heavily skinned but very easy to use and there isn't much bloatware. With regards to battery life, the S7 can't compare. I have never had a phone that allows me to surf the web on 4G for 4 hours and still have 70% battery left.

  • i first bought the mediatek version but i was disappointed with gaming performance, battery life and heating issue. then i bought the snapdragon version and games run very smoothly, 6-7h SOT and no heating issue. the strange thing is, they are not the same phones. the build quality and screen is better on the mediatek version and i'm frustrated, the screen on the SD version doesn't have the same coating and the colours are washed out and it seems to be a space between the glass and the panel. so my advice is, take the note 4 for the looks and the 4x for batery life and games. while for me, i'm sticking to snapdragon version. SD 625 is a very good SoC. too bad that helio x20 has heating issues and has the mali t880 mp4 as the GPU. the helio x10 on the redmi note 2 handled games better, having the powerVR Rouge as the GPU.

  • I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and all I could say is its a superb phone on this budget. Ive been using Lenovo and Samsung for the past years and they couldn't compete to this phone. (depending on the model though) 1. This device responds very quick 2. The camera is fair enough for the budget. Rear camera is awesome in HDR mode! Front cam is nice in daylight but somewhat poor in lowlight 3. Whatever game it is, this phone can play all of it with no signs of lagging! :P

  • Dude, you're miss some info from another user The most different thing is on the usb port, 4 has screws, and 4X has no screws, for the position of infrared from what i read and search that 4 and 4X that using SD625 is same on the left side, next to mic hole Mine is 4X with Samsung S5K3L8 which means Samsung 13 mpx, but no screws beside the usb port (just check with tab kernel version 7 times and you will find hardware information), not all the 4X nor 4 is using the same camera sensor (due to supply of hardware), I also have the digital compass CMIIW

  • Yes, I'm referring to Redmi Note 4X 3GB/32GB model. Camera is junk, with aggressive noise reduction, blurred colors and bad sharpness, not saying anything about bad dynamical range. And flash always makes photos yellowish. And there is no custom white balance option at all.

  • I hope you're referring to the Redmi Note 4X. In my opinion this phone takes very good photos for a mobile phone camera. Indeed it may not be as good a quality as higher end devices such as S8 or iPhone 7 and the likes. However it does take photos that can definitely be used for social media sharing and the likes.

  • Hey imrobiin, the performance difference does exist. However it is not visible in day to day use. Opening regular apps such as messaging, emails, browsing doesn't have any differences in either phones. However using resource consuming apps such as games does have a slightly lower loading time. Usually about 5-10 seconds longer to load the game on the Snapdragon version. The 1080p graphics work well in high settings in games very well and smoothly in both phones. However the most intensive games will work better on the MDT version. I guess you have to prioritise your needs whether you want a high performant chipset which lets you play the games (RN4) you want for the next few years or a very usable phone which lasts longer than a regular day of heavy use (RN4X).
