I got windows 10 update on this phone, yes!! just download the upgrade advisor app, let it search for updates. It will tell that update is present for your phone, i think it asks to choose some checkboxes and then it does the settings. Now go to phone update in settings, your update will be waiting for you there. It is great!! Enjoy

I purhased one Xolo win Q900s through Homeshop online shopping in the month of March 2016 and based on the request of Homeshop within 2 days I wrote a good review also. But after actually started using this product I realised that the touch screen is not working. I contacted their local service centre and got the phone repaired. However after few days when I kept the phone for charging, I found that its touch pad is broken during charging (without anybody touching the phone) and I again contacted the service centre and they told that since the phone is broken the warranty will not cover and accordingly they charged me Rs. 2450/- for replacing the touch pad. Howevever after 2 days of receiving the phone repaired (ie. after replacing the touch pad) when the phone was lying idle on my computer table I listened a loud glass cracking sound and when I checked the phone I found the touch pad (display) of the phone is again broken automatically. Morover this phone's net work is also not working and most of the call is dropped. It seems that the company is offering technically defective phones through online with deep discount so that they can charge good amount for reparing the defective phones. Now again I surrended the phone to their service centre for repair/replacing the touch pad. This review is written for the benefit of general public who plan to buy a phone of this brand.

Recently, received a xolo A900S as a gift from a wellwisher. It was doing well. one day I just meddled with the Xolo Secure icon with a view to trace back the same in case of theft. Thereafter, its touch pad stopped working. I tried to contact the xolo customer care numbers appearing in the website. There is no help avl. there for the reason it does not exist. There is a way to play hd videos. download moli player but it 189 rs in app store for that you should first change the phone settings region to Chinese and restart the phone then open the app store search moli player download it. They are asking microsoft windows activation code. Each windows devise has its own separate activation code. i got my code from microfost customer support website directly. I started a chat and a guy on the other side asked for IMEI number etc and gave me the code. I dont remember where exactly did i go but i thing this page can also help you. it is the first anniversary of my xolo win q900s. best phone i have ever used. it is best for those with moderate to minimal phone usage. i am one of them. i already have tablet and laptop so spend less time on phone. but what so ever time i spend on phone, this phone gives me the best experience. display is 11/10, yes 1 extra mark. windows os is very smooth and simple. one thing i liked is the minimized application can be re-launched by long pressing the back button (multitasking menu) even weeks later and application will start in less then second from where you left. and this is also true for games. you can minimize subway surfer in between the run and reopen the game from multitasking menu week later and resume that exact run. web pages in internet explorer are also open for infinite time, until you close them manually. this is helpful if you want to access these web pages offline. you can leave it open as long as you want.

Best phone ever seen in WP catagories. Lightest and slimmest wp. I've using this phone from last 4 months and have following conclusions: Pros: 1. Looking good and gives premier feel. 2. Camera is quite good in day light& gives crispy pictures with use of some apps. 3. Since I'm fan of WP therefore Cortana is rival in compare to android. Cortana responds very well in compare to other Lumia and Microsoft phones. Cons: 1. WiFi is not good disconnect again and again. 2. Low light pictures are with yellowish flash and look bulky But in daylight they are pretty good. 3. Since it is Li-po battery so as it charge fast but also it drain at same speed. Max 8 hrs. With full use. 4. Speakers ate not too good and phone not able to play 720p videos. So if you are want a stylish and beautiful phone with windows os this is best in other catagory of lumias. But on performance basis I can't suggest this you should look for nokia or Microsoft.

As you had asked for rooting the device to ANDROID OS. It Cannot be done,because we cant change OS of device, as done in ANDROID Smartphones. I think this may help you.

Previously, I was also a Lumia user, now I am shifted to non-Lumia i.e XOLO. Reason behind i have shifted to XOLO because i wanted to use all the WINDOWS Phone. Coming to your point - i recommend that don't go for non-Lumia device because you will not get all the facilities as the Nokia or Microsoft Lumia gets, as i had used many Nokia & Microsoft Lumia devices. Hi, I use Xolo q900s since it was released. It is a decent phone. No complaints. But understand it is a snapdragon 200 CPU. If you play a 720p HD 5 mins song, the video will be 50% only done (slow motion) before the audio completes. High resolution video taken with other mobile received in WhatsApp Will display black. Probably all unsold old snapdragon CPU was purchased by Xolo. Also know that there is no compass device so most of compass apps may not work. All Nokia apps like here drive+ work fine in Xolo q900s.

After creating account you update your phone and Voila..u get Cortana after this update...feel free to ask anything about this phone

I was just fed up from android phones specially from Redmi 1s, so i decided to opt for windows phone, and surprisingly, the Indian maker Xolo has done a great job through this phone and breaks the monopoly of Lumia and Microsoft who sell their product on so high price. It gives a sense of being proud on our country too. It is a premium phone and look is great.Its FM is also amazing sound quality is better than Lumia phones.Screen resolution is great and call sound is clear and crisp. for this formost you need to go to the settings>emails+acc>add an account>microsoft account where you will get the opitons of create one and another one will be sign in if you have a microsoft account you can select the sing in and if not then you need to select create one where you can create the mail id..... and one more thing these are the site like hotmail.com live.com live.in outlook.in and msn.in in which you can create mail id successfully.. i hope it will helpfull for you..

Please don't buy Non-Microsoft Windows Phones. After you buy a WIndows Phone Neither Microsoft or Xolo will provide updates. Microsoft doesn't give Software update for Xolo Q900s. Because of that reason, many applications stopped working. Eg. The Hindu. Many applications will not run Eg. True Caller, Because the mobile OS is not updated. The Mobile looks light and Good. Touch sensitive is good. But Software is still 1.5 years old. No updates. I will suggest not to buy any WIndows phone not supplied by Microsoft. Otherwise Xolo and other Windows phone Manufacturers has to obtain updates and feed the customers. These people will only sell, no after sales service. Pathetic. We should stop buying these funny products and shut down these waste companies.

Me too experiencing the same heating issue. When talked to Service Centre, the SC guys says that the slim design is the case of its heating issue. So, better avoid using the phone while charging. Another problem is 720p videos lag a lot. May be Snapdragon 200 is the cause here. This processor isnt really good at handling 720p videos. And I would suggest you to update you phone to latest version, it swaps the back and search function of the capacitive buttons back to default and alos adds some new apps.

I have bought this phone 13th April '15 . Everything is going properly. Bt I am facing the heating issu. I think the heat comes from the chepset. It cannot take presure of regular using of processor. Without this problem, this a really very good phone. Bt I am unable to find light sensor. Other windows phone's are have this feature in brightness settings . But I cannot find it. In the brightness setting , there are three options . High, medium, low. But here not showing theke auto option. Please help me to solve this problem.

received this phone on temporary basis, have been using it from 3 days. Overall good feel very light to hold. Good keyboard structure. Good battery (even 1800 mah has enough juice to be compared to android having 2100 / 2200 mah battery) good ram Windows are said to be less ram and power hungry. but worst design and multitaaking, not at all user freindly experience as compared to android..android has the best multitasking ability..all in all windows still baby to beat android, needs lots of upgrades to compete android.

Very bad phone.. will suggest whomsoever is planning to buy this phone to go for any Nokia Lumia phones rather than going for this phone! Xolo has no proper service centres & the minimum time for repairing a phone is 2 months & still the phone you receive will have some or the other problems! Xolo doesn't even replace the product like Sony, Samsung, Nokia etc. do; neither do they refund the amount. Very much disappointed. WiFi doesn't work properly. The phone keeps hanging. Not at all recommended. Specifications might put you in awe but the actual usage makes you feel like you 10k is down the drain.

Clarity of earphones u receive in package is good. Its not extraordinary, but plays songs and music effects well. Also volume is good, so originally low volume videos or songs can be listened well. Haven't tried to connect external headphones or earphones as of yet..so cannot say how much adaptability is there. But much nicer than my previous canvas 2.

When using map, if the screen is locked. Map application getting crashed, we can't even open the application again. Restart is required. This problem is also in Compass Application. I dono this is a bug with Windows Phone 8.1 or only with XOLO Win Q900s. I dono How to report this bug? Any help to report Bugs. Compass Application is often asking for calibration. this never happened in my previous android phones and iphone which i used 5 years ago.

just bought Xolo Win phone. Looks pretty, Screen is nice size + weight is very good. now a few questions - 1. Where I can find camera zoom function ? Pinch to zoom does not work. In earlier comments I read that an upgrade might solve this issue, so I even upgraded it, but of no use. Otherwise, no complains about picture quality. I think windows phone camera do not have zoom function. Please guide me on this. 2 Specs say this phone has a magnetometer, means any compass app should easily work. However, I tried compass HD & Compass Pr from windows store and they both are not working. While Compass HD takes indefinite time to open, Compass Pro Simply says there is no hardware to run this app, which seems to be strange. Am I missing something here ? I am first time windows phone user, so some things might be pretty simple, but I am just not knowing it. Please guide me on this. Thanking all of u in advance.

XOLO and micromax are not china phone, its made in india phone. both are indian manufacturers. moreover they make good quality mobiles for better price range. u paying additional dollars to get foreign brands. This mobile is really worth for the price. its far far better than lumia 630.

1080p video can't be played. only 720p plays without lag. better go snapdragon 400 or higher chipset. even 720p can't be played smooth in default Hardware codec, u need to instal moli player and switch to SW mode.

Wifi is not the problem with devise itself. It is the issue of windows phone 8.1 update. Many devises on windows phone 8.1 are facing this problem. So it is most likely that Microsoft will fix this soon. Device is superb.

this mobile can play HD videos with the help of MoliPlayer From store, if video is buffering to play, u can switch decoding from Hardware(HW) to Software(SW) mode in this app, SW mode plays HD videos without any lag. tried only 720p, will repost after trying 1080p

High definition Video play back is very slow in graphic rendering. battery backup is pretty poor may last only 4 hrs for heavy usage and 8hrs in average usage. wifi signal strength is extremely poor need to be very close to the router. ther is no CUT option for text editing(hope microsoft will rectify this in next update). display quality is extremely awesome. phone is super smooth without any lag. no HD video recording, only 480p recording possible. overall score 3.5 out 5

Guys phone is really good main issue is with WiFi. You have be closer to router otherwise it won't work. the phone looks great and the performance is also goods. the battery easily lasts for a day and more. their is no lagging in any app or any screen. the display is also good. but the only problem is phone gets heated up, even when using whats app, or for that matter just browsing through the phone. hence for playing games or net related activity this phone becomes a heater.

I bought this phone 5 days ago on Snapdeal. My initial experience. I will start with negatives :) Negatives: 1) Pathetic ear phones, unusable. Very difficult to fit in. So couldn't try them. Just with trying on, my ear lobes tarted aching... 2) Absolutely no wifi reception, Unless you are 5 feet from the router, wifi is useless. Phone doesn't catch wifi at all. They could as well advertise as no wifi. Positives: 1) Good phone for price (thinnest & lightest windows phone). 2) Display is good. 3) Good that Xolo gave a flip case in the box. 4) Also 2 screen guards in the box. Since this phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1, it gets all the fickleness of the OS. So can't really fault Xolo.

I've this phone from 3 days.. My impressions are, it is super light weight, it is good looking, & very comfortable in hand.. The drawback of the phone is, it doesn't have zooming in camera, and I found wifi connectivity is poor. Other than that everything is great, no issues in performance for me, no loga at all. For this price, this phone is just too good. All I can say is it was worth waiting for this phone, and I'm happy with this phone. :)

Some people says xolo is gud phone and some says not. Which one is true and in my opinion when i used xolo a500s,for around 5 months it run normally about the performance its gud but just from the beginning about battery no need to say it take 3 to 4 hours to charge 1500mah only and then it start memory card not found and restart its self several time in a day at around six months used. Even though i m never gonna stop for xolo bcos i bliv in xolo in march'14 i bought xolo again q700s, wow so nice to look very smart looking thin and light amazing i thought, but within a week im facing a problem firstly about battery charging it takes 6 to 7 hours to complete charge from 30% so how to used this type of mobile and after 40 days 2ndly another issue comes out usb not found while connecting to computer and also day dream clock does not display while charging, m so worry about xolo and after two months i went to xolo care center they say software problem, hardware problem so it may take around 30 days to repair after 1 month i went to servicing center and then they say again its still not fix come two days later and i go again they said it change the motherboard now will fix everything ya this is true fix usb connection and display but still facing the problem for long time charging so ill never used this xolo phones waste of time. I m not making down your interest to xolo but think if u face the problem like me. So now im using nokia lumia it doesn't have any kind of issue superb fast internet even 2g nice touch and most one battery best. So if you want to buy windows phones just go for lumia u ll b smile. Cortana is not release so far officially for India and few other country as well due to Cortana is compatible to speek only US english but you can get it in indian version as well by changing few settings as i am using in my Lumia 520 (developer version) Just change in setting Region >> UNITED STATE Language >> English (UNITED STATE) And reboot your phone you will see CORTANA there

Everything is same in these two phones except the OS and that the Windows version has better display than Android one. Flipkart registered my complaint but no body contacted me since. Who said Lumia 520 is hit? Everyone using it has suggested not to go for it. In just 2-3 months they ve started facing problems and it's just impossible to deal with Nokia's Official Customer Care Centres. People who used Lumia 520 switched to Xolo n Micromax and find them more durable and better.

Do you know there is a difference between nokia's quality and so called indian(china made india) brands phn quality, their service after sale. Nokia have to pay much tax for saling phn in India. L520 is huge hit in India, but do u know nokia loss money in every l520. They get profit on their highend phone. So dnt say nokia looting us.

There is a reason behind why they are back in releasing phone and also even micromax has confirmed that they are going to release windows phone in end of june and beginning of july. The delay is due to Union budget. As per budget the indian mobile makers phones will be cheaper than international companies. So that probably these two companies (xolo and micromax) might rebuilt the phone with cheap quality materials. So that the releasing of these phones are dealyed.

It have happened before that the snapdeal have the sold out label placed but they did not ship the device so i am not hoping that it will be released on 15th. I sold my beloved samsung galaxy s2 for this Not to be released device to experience the Windows Phone but i think that was wrong decision i made. Will move to one of the Xiaomi's handsets.

Hmm.. U dont get the point, iphones are made in china but they are not made by cheap quality materials, they are made by foxcon. But this so called indian branded phones are some cheap branded phones. They just rebrand it. But I am not sure about this phone because there are no chinese wp8.1 phns till now. So, may be xolo started to made phones by their own hand. I read somewhere mmx and xolo gona make phones in India.
