  • Today I have updated Android Oreo from androidsage.com I downloaded the zip file around 1.9 gb to my laptop Extract it Just copy or cut the zip file named update on the sd card That's all Go to settings Software update It will automatically detect the file and update it within 20 minutes with out erasing your data.   • I had the same problem and eventually my phone wouldn't stay on unless it was connect to the charger. phone would say 100% and as soon as I unplug it shuts off! sent mine in to have battery replaced

  • Battery is very conflicting. It doesn't last all day, it drains very fast... Whats even more frustrating is the fact that if its even a tiny bit cool/cold (talking about as little as 0°C) and i hold it out in the open to use my phone, it quickly shuts off due to 0% battery (Or so it claims!!), and will NOT turn on again until you connect it to power (charge). It happens no matter how much battery you've got left, as long as it's the tiniest bit cold, it shuts off. Is the battery freezing under such "warm conditions" (comparing to other phones tolerance)? Well anyway it's such a troublesome thing, especially when you live in a country with all 4 seasons. And if you leave for work, school or anywhere for more than a couple few hours, you need to bring your charger with you unless you want your phone to die on you.

Two years after it's one of the best phones ever made: RAM 6 GB, internal memory 128 GB, micro SD card 256 GB, battery 3250 mAh, Snapdragon 820. No need to buy one of the fancy new ones that can be found only in this country (China).

  • Hello, I have had this phone for as long as it has been out, and like you, my battery is deteriorating. However, this is normal for any phone, as over 2 years, the battery will have lost 30% or more of its original charge. You can buy a new battery on Ebay, Alibaba, or TaoBao for under $15 and swap it out yourself. This should give you a much better battery life.

  • Go to androidsage and download oreo for A2017G European version. The update will work only from SD. Everything ok camera is super, battery life is the same almost one day. Good luck

  • Got this for about £185 about a year ago, not regretting the purchase. Coming from an 8 core A53 chip previously (Snapdragon 615) to a 4 core Kryo CPU (Snapdragon 820) on the Axon 7, this was so much faster. It handles everything I throw at it without slowing down, and usually lasts 36 hours on one charge. Nova launcher is a good choice with this phone as the default isn't great. MIUI is a bit different to stock Android but you can get custom ROMs if you really hate it. The phone has its downsides but for the price now it's better than most you could get (like the Axon 7 Mini, shameless cash-in on brand name). It seems that after this generation of phones came out, 8 cores became the high-end standard with SD835/845. Do we actually use that much processing power multi-tasking on a phone, or was it just a marketing move to keep prices high with only modest gains in single-threaded performance? Even the budget high-end seems to have moved up a couple hundred in price over the last year.

Key higlight. ** Excellent build quality still no scratches on screen or dents or color fading. ** Looks like new ** Very good Display ** Above par Camera Issues.. * Since over 2 years....... its slowing yes, unlike any other android phone * Biggest Problem is heating. * I moved back to India, not getting updates anymore. Inshort except heating this phone has been wonderful especially looks , build quality and Camera. Battery after 2 years still good, but can't hold a day like before.

  • The screen is most definitely not poor quality, this is a garbage opinion a minority of people have claimed. one of the better ones I’ve seen particularly factoring in its price. The issues or issue of note is the maximum brightness output is decidedly average giving it not so great sunlight legibility. It suffers the rainbow effect on an angle yet all AMOLED screens appear to have this or the blue shift to some degree.

  • Screen is "poor"? I would say very few people would describe it that way. It's a Samsung AMOLED panel from a couple of generations back. It's not as good as the S8 or S9 screen, but it's the best screen ever on a 300 dollar phone. At extreme angles there's a little green and orange color shifting but it's fleeting and doesn't encompass the entire image.

  • Screen is indeed poor. The other party not hearing you is due to a bug somewhere, if they cannot hear you, hit the speakerphone button twice to switch to and from speakerphone and it should work properly.

  • A2017G on box. But I updated to 7.1.1 with the help of this same page with download link provided by a valuable user. Just download it and transfer to a SD card on your phone. Go to system update it will automatically detect the file and will update it. Very simple. You can find the details on this same page. Actually I have updated to Marshmallow latest and then to 7.1.1 Thanks

  • Of course it's still worth. I got it for $200 from ZTE directly from UAE. Now it's on 7.1.1 working very smooth and charm like $800 phone.

  • Moved from a xiaomi 3s to this phone. Excited about the specs. First impressions we're ok... but the build quality did not impressions me. 3 months later... The screen is scratched to heck and the receiver cuts out intermittently .. people can't hear me on the phone call 2 seconds after I've made a phone call where it works. Would never buy a ZTE again. Went back to. Moto x4 and couldn't be happier.

  • Have the same problem. Either disable google voice or u have to lock ur phone after a voice call and then unlock and call again.

  • I have had the enhanced 6/128 version since the phones release. Never any issues whatsoever. I have just seen the Axon 9 and the front Dolby Atmos speakers that have made the Axon 7 such an audio attraction might be a deal-breaker.

  • For those unaware I received the December 2017 security patch and it had fixed the shakiness of the rear camera on the axon 7. Now I can take pictures and videos without feeling like pelting the phone

  • dude i had trouble with axon when calling microphone sometimes didnt work so peoples on other side couldn't hear my voice...i discovered that google voice actually was the main problem so i disable google speech and now all works well.. if u have active that funcion (ok google) try to disable it

  • The reason they can't hear you most likely depends on how you are holding the phone. If you look at the phone's back side, towards the bottom, you will find an antenna circumventing the back of the phone. Sometimes when you hold the phone there, it strangles its reception. I know other phones have or have had the same issue, so the Axon 7 isn't alone. Still, this shouldn't happen on a phone today at this price range. I do have volume problems with it as well. The speakers are very loud, even at the lowest volume.

  • Having used this for 2 weeks now I have to say it is really nice to use. It is very comfortable in the hand unlike my previous Asus ZF3 or any Sony with their really sharp corners.

  • I got my phone this month and it has B11 firmware, dated from Jan this year. I cannot get any OTA update but can download the B09 firmware, dated last month, from the Sweden (?) ZTE website. Unzip it into a SD card and it updates fine.

  • I read that some had problems updating to 7.1.1. I just bought the phone on 15.12.2017. It came with Marshmallow 6.1 but it was very easy to update to 7.1.1 and security patch October 2017. All I had to do is go to Settings, click on System updates and search. Within a few seconds there was my first update to download. I downloaded it and then installed it. After that I went back to System update and searched again. Another download showed. I downloaded and installed. Went back again and downloaded and installed another 3 updates, one after the other. In the end, I was told that my phone had the latest Firmware. Everything is working smoothly. Good luck. By the way, I bought my Axon in Germany simfree.

  • So guys, did your phones arrive from Gearbest? Mine did and after 1 week of use, I am mostly satisfied with it. It is a replacement for a Asus Zenfone 3 which is a real POS. Quick review of 1 week with the phone, the phone is on Android 6 (B11) and no OTA updates are found. On ZTE website, there is a B05 update listed, but I am not sure if it is safe to update it as I had phones and tablets that are made worse with updates, cannot seem to find much information on A2017G update reviews online. Also, it has no stock Android launcher, just the MiFavor one, which has no app drawer. I installed Evie launcher on it and it seem to crash at least once a day, usually when reconnecting to Wifi after a long sleep. It can be kind of laggy when waking up, seems like memory needs catching up. Battery life is poor, but QC3 makes up for it. It charges from 24% to 32% in the time I take to smoke a cigarette, which is very good. Screen is good and sound is great, even with the included headphones. It feels great in hand, slightly smaller than a ZF3 5.5 and rounded corners are great on palm. All it, I am happy with my purchase, just wish I had waited a week or so more before placing my order to save £25 on the Black Friday sales. I expect to be only using this phone for a year or so before changing to a Samsung A or S series or a LG V or G series.

  • I got mine from Gearbest, which took the order when they had no stock, so I ended up waiting for so long that the dropped the price for Black Friday.   • I just bought one, for £200 and then Black Friday came and it dropped to £175! Grrr... Anyhow, for £200, it is cheaper than most 625 phones and even though it is over 1 year old, I think it will still perform better than current 6## phones, at least that is what the benchmarks says.

  • Stock doesn't fix my problem. Anyways I'm using nova launcher for just customization & its great. Now that i've been using this phone for a while, camera is still the same in low light esp for videos, & its a documented issue(search google). But, I'm still very happy with my purchase. Almost one year, & this thing still is blazingly fast. Great display, great sound, great performance, no lag or stutters, decent battery life... & a great camera in daylight..whats not to like in a budget phone!

  • Known problem. You were using it on Verizon or Sprint, right? The phone needs a GSM sim card to update; there is no way around that. I purchased a GSM sim card from cellhire for $10 and updated. The good news is that I now have the option to use my UK phone number on cellhire though I don't know if I ever will.

  • Was happy with my ZTE till 7 months after purchase. One morning the device woke up n started to update the OS. It automatically rebooted indefinitely. No way to get it restarted afterwards.

  • I thoroughly disagree. It's not the loudest among them, but sound QUALITY is much better IMO. Both with headphones and esp. speakers(by far)

  • It's been about 3 months now. This thing is absolutely amazing. The sound from both speakers AND headphones is short of phenomenal (but you DO have to use upscale phones, like mine Sehnheiser 595 at least). The amoled screen with 2K resolution is gorgeous, on par with Samsung's. In fact it IS made by Samsung! Add SD820, 4 GB/64 internal, expandable to 256 GB - what's not to like?! After Nugat 7.1.1 update the 20 mp camera and reception are great too IMO. Even the issues with low light camera performance seems to be gone. Will see, but so far it's been perfect for me, even if it was priced like the so called flagships. But it's NOT!!

  • I have had this phone now for 10 months. Pros - Price point. Fast phone, great screen that can last about 4-5 hours on time and 4k videos play is amazing, dual sim, speakers are prob the best I have had on a cell phone. Worked on Verizon, until I had to call for support on Total Wireless, then they kicked me off data somehow. It had been working for 3 months on their system prior to my call. ATT/T-Mobil supported also (Straight Talk), which is what I am on now. Camera stabilization is ok, low light is not the best, same for videos. Finger print scanner hasn't skipped a beat, even when hands are dirty, sweaty, even if I have car oil or such on hands (thin nitrile gloves still register on my phone when working in the garage). Cons - APN settings are a hit and miss and it resets itself a lot, so LTE is not that stable, even is LTE4 icon is on screen. Towers are very close to me and I am still in the 98 - 150s for radio dBm when I am less than 1/4 mile from provider towers. ZTE sucks for OS updates, security patches were a problem at the first half of the year. Overall, I think it's hard to beat this phone, although I am about to upgrade to a Xioami Mi Mix. I like the Axon 7, I usually keep my phones for about 3-4 years, the cell tower issues is what's turning me away. Closest phone I can compare it to is an HTC One 8/9/10 model.

  • Android update in the China version is up to MiFavor UI 5.0 (the one mentioned before as the 08.01.17 update). I guess internal memory is also updated to [up to] 256 GB.

  • I had an Axon 7 but I sold it and bought a Galaxy S8. I love the Galaxy S8 (except for the terrible location and size of the fingerprint scanner) but I missed the Axon 7. I finally convinced myself that I needed a backup phone and I bought a used Axon 7. The S8 will continue to be my daily driver, but the Axon 7 has replaced my 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

  • This phone has a serious issue with the camera giving a blurred image while the phone vibrates. ZTE have ignored this issue. Check google and see for yourself.

  • Bro there are no issues at all, if you don't like MiFavor simply use StockAndroid launcher.This is the best feature of phone to choose between UI, Stock android has all search features.

If you don't break this phone accidentally otherwise there should be no issues, just keep software up to date, using for an year. Read my year experience in separate port for few tips.

  • Unfortunately not being officially sold in India yet, though you can ask any of your friend from US/UK to get it. Good thing it supports both India's 4g/LTE Bands i.e. 1800 & 2300.

Tip :- Use Battery Cooling & set policies for App to prevent from running in Background unnecessary. To me it don't make any sense to allow Apps other than WhatsApp,FB,mails and any fitness App to run in background. If I need them I will open them. So set policy to NOT ALLOW them to automatically run. d) Great Camera, no doubt most Smartphone today have really good cameras especially in good Daylight. This one is Good even in Low Light. Tip) Especially in dark give few sec to focus then Click, don't hurry. Extra care for steady Hands during dark times. Yes Camera App can be improved, few modes like Trail...night Exposure don't work for me. HDR and Live Photos are best for me. e) Allows you to choose from Stock Android or ZTE MiFavor. Cool feature added inbuilt to UI like Pedometer on Lock Screen, U can search for in Apps & SMS, Gesture control like Flip to mute Calls, Shake to open Torch etc .... &inbuilt contact Blacklisting without 3rd party app, Time based profile (like I have set Not to be disturbed at night unless known numbers). f) Fast Charging is probably the best feature jumps battery from say 7-8 percent to around 30% in just 10 mins. Overall Battery backup very good even after a year, just need some management as told above. g) Performance butter smooth, Actually not a question or thing to highlight even u have such high Hardware specs i.e. SD 820 ......its obvious. h) Regular updates, first few phones to get Day dream in Thousands of phones in market. h) Only slight drawback common with Metal uni-body phones is occasional heating. especially if you active on phone while charging. i) Got a good screen protector and Silcone cover with phone, after 10 month i decided to replace screen protector but unfortunately didn't get a good one like original on Amazon, quite shorter on sides especially. Going good hope to continue with same phone for at least another one year, thanks to metal uni-body no color fading or scratched .... good as new.

  • I purchased the AXON 7 in May, but I have not been picking up any signals. My sim works in another phone and I've tried other sim cards, but still no signal. After going to the test settings by using *#*#4636#*#*, I'm seeing that the network type is listed as td-scdma/cdma/umts. But whenever I try changing it to GSM or WCDMA or something else, it says that there's an error and defaults back to td-scdma/cdma/umts. Does anyone know of a fix for this.   • Every country have regulations. You as customer have right for refund even after 1 year warranty. A full refund. But it's more smoother if you buy device at your local tech store then oems own because local tech store has their own regulations and warranty besides oems. It's like buying iPhone at Walmart but this time walmart is standing for quality of that product not iPhone. Law is more strict in that regard. State or law of the state doesn't care what is the name of product they are selling it's Walmart who is responsible for product to work or not. Then Walmart is dealing with Apple later on which is what why is what is chicken older then egg etc. I don't see a problem. What's more strange is that you could do that long time ago. Asking for a refund

  • This phone has a well documented error, where the phone main camera stops working and displays a very distorted preview. This makes the camera unusable. The phone is only six months old and I purchased it in the USA because the 6gig version is not available in Europe. However now I am in Spain and ZTE now tell me that I need to have a USA based credit card in order for them to make an exchange. ZTE further state that the phone that they will send to replace mine will not be new! As I don't have a USA based credit card I am now stuck with a phone which has a useless camera. As I use the camera everyday, this is more than annoying.

HUGE DRAIN ON BATTERY! no phone calls. oh, volume button or rocker doesn't work, they send you a replacement. dirty, new or old serial number slapped on back with curled edges, temporary screen protector is wrinkled, dusty, full of fingerprints! all "4" replacement-refurbished phones were defective like the original $400 new phone. in its nice new packaging. i personally believe they are selling refurbished phones from china to the usa consumers. some articles say this phone was sold in china in 2015. customer service says made "only for usa market" LOL! i have emailed the president,ceo mr. cheng in richardson ,tx & Edward Rayeski, Director of Handset and Development, as well as the president in china! not one response! the phone is beautiful has all the bells & whistles only they don't all work! i am out over $500, phone, sd card,screen protectors & cases! for a piece of junk! i do know they DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! i have filed complaint w/BBB & will with the attorney general's office in texas.   • Best phone I ever had. Love the screen. Good battery life, awesome audio through headphone Jack, and the size is almost perfect. Ide rather have a 5.7 or 6 inch phone though. Hopefully they have a plus version next time. Oh yes only thing I don't like is the small capasitive buttons but I got use to it.

  • To LINDY: First of all you paid $700??? Are you talking US currency? It's strange that your fingerprint doesn't work. I hope the sensor hasn't gone bad. The OS asks for the password each time the phone is restarted so I'm surprised you have forgotten your PIN unless you only restart your phone once in a blue moon. The solution might not be a pretty one. You may have to do a factory reset. Try this first though, go to the boot-loader menu which should be accessible by turning the phone off then hold the volume up and power button simultaneously until you see the green android robot. Select 'Clear Cache' this won't wipe your data just system clutter. After doing that reboot and try unlocking it with your finger again. It's worth a try. If that doesn't work then you may have to do a full factory reset which will remove all your data. Please keep us posted.

  • I want to buy an affordable phone with flagship grade specs and I'm confused between the 64 GB variant of ZTE Axon 7 and the factory unlocked variant of Alcatel Idol 4S Windows. They run pretty much neck to neck in terms of features and specifications. Alcatel has a marginally higher megapixel camera with bigger sensor and EIS while ZTE has slightly lower megapixel camera with bigger aperture and OIS. Alcatel runs on Windows 10 Mobile while ZTE runs on Android, I've used both OS and in terms of my usage pattern I don't find any difference while using them. ZTE Axon 7 has 2 stereo speakers and the Alcatel Idol 4S Windows has 4 stereo speakers. I do find the slim glass and metal design of Alcatel as more attractive. Of course the Alcatel Idol 4S Windows costs cheaper at just $275 but still I want suggestions about which one should I go.

  • You can reset factory the phone by shutting down the phone and pressing volume up and power button and when it vibrates release power button but still hold volume up until the boot loader appears then choose reset factory and remember that all of your data and accounts will be erased.

  • Yes Chinese varient (A2017)had on-screen buttons when came out first but then it change capacitive​ butttons and now all models have capacitve model including Chinese varient.Only old Chinese model has on-screen buttons.

  • You will have to go into settings, then go into apps, then go to google playstore once there click on the upper right side of the app and click uninstall updates, then go to the downloads app and disable it so it would'nt update the playstore automatically. Then go back into play store it will require you to restart the app just go back into the app again and click on the apps that you want to install or what to update and it will work. NB every now and then you will have to repeat the process because the corrupt update to the playstore will be updated. You will have to try this process until zte themselves comes out with a software update to fix this issue. Hope this helps

  • Just go to settings then apps and search for play store then there is three dots top right press it then install updates then u will be good just dont let at update because it update automatically even if u chose not to update apps automatically .

  • Hi I want you guys to check out if your axon 7 acts like mine when the phone is shut down and I insert just half of the usb type c in the port, it vibrates and shows the battery and percentage but it's not really charging and does not go up even 1%.(my Axon 7 is on android 6.0.1 and the phone starts charging normally if I insert all of usb type c in one fell swoop and I have tried several chargers and usb c cables and also the ones that came in the box but the results are the same)

  • Nougat 7.1.1 Google Playstore will not update or download apps. Stuck on "searching for network" Widespread issue. Hopefully the bug fix will be soon.

  • Using android 7.1. Also nova launcher. No problem at all. Only complaint i would make is the camera. Not on par what i wanted, esp in low light. Focusing is bad for videos, even updates don't fix it. A great device otherwise.

  • This phone has great specs but the end result is a disaster. It has a customized "MiFavor" UI and custom ZTE apps that are missing features, missing help text, missing search indexing, missing Quick Tile customization, and are a daily hassle to use. Haptic feedback is erratic. Do Not Call doesn't work. The radios have poor reception and crash repeatedly, especially on Band 2. It slows down unless rebooted daily. There's hidden software that we're assured isn't evil. Advertised features are still waiting to appear in some future release. There's not much support for LineageOS so don't think that's a way out.

  • Whatsapp users, please note that after the Nougat update (USA) the in-app camera feature of this app, causes the phone to suffer from serious lag (Freezes + black screen) when you take a picture and try to send it in a chat session. Other users have reported that attaching pictures, audio files and emoji also produces the same lagging problem. Other apps affected include Tumbler and Linked In (so far). This has been reported to ZTE, but so far no official word from them. These apps worked fine on MM.

  • It jusy depends on what you wnat on your phone. If you want performance and camera you should go with the Oneplus 3 if you want the bomming speakers you should go with the ZTE Axon 7.

  • Hi, SAMSUNG s7 edge and ZTE Axon 7 both have 2k or 1440 x 2560 resolution and 5.5" display according to tech sites, but s7 edge has 534 pixels per inch and Axon 7 has 538 pixels per inch. Does that mean screen size on Axon 7 is a bit smaller or 5.46"? Has anyone installed cpu-z or AIDA64 on Axon 7 to see what those apps show the real screen size and pixel density of Axon 7?

  • Hi Ramy. OTA. I received notification that there is update available. Updated from B06 to B08 on 17th dec 2016. I have no idea why yours have no update yet. Silly question, but did you try and check for updates in the settings I would advice you to wait a little longer :)

  • Owning this device in Malaysia (ZTE A2017GV 1.0.0B08). Overall this phone is amazing an I am a satisfied user. Worth the money. It feals great and premium to hold, I like the silicone case that ZTE included in the box too. The display quality seems amazing when watching a 2k video, probably better when testing with a VR headset, has not tried that yet. The sound from front-facing, built-in speakers is very nice for the ears to hear. Dolby Atmos surround sound technology does make it sound more real (tested with demo video that comes with the device). However, testing with headphone provided in the box, the sound quality is not as great as blasting it on air, but still very nice to hear. Playing Asphalt 8 on Axon 7 is comfortable without any issue. The car responds accurately to the inputs given. The phone does not get uncomfortably hot (playing for 3-4 hours straight) even while charging. The phone is fast, respond nicely and get everything I want to do done smoothly. Battery life is pretty solid, gets me through the day for more than average usage. Sometimes just using some whatsapp, sms, calling, internet with WiFi turned on all the time could result in around 70% of battery life remaining at the end of the day. Got an update after a few days of owning this phone, the phone reception signal seems to have slightly improved, but I can't confirm this with data. Also, with the update, the notification bell that many people complained is no more there. The capacitive buttons are unlit, not very nice at dark, but I get used to it quickly. There is a screen protector that comes in the box, but I don't really like it as I feel it is not very smooth when my fingers are a bit sweaty, but it is okay. About the camera, I think I dont really take many pictures and not really good in image/camera parameters too, so can't really comment. Nevertheless, the images taken do look pretty nice. The device is not very good in handling moving objects in my experience despite having OIS. For me, both front and rear camera is pretty good and enough. Regarding fingerprint sensor, if I place the finger correctly on the sensor, the device does unlock quite fast. Never tried this sensor on any other device. Thumbs up to ZTE. Hopefully upgrade to Android Nougat improves the experience with this device.

  • Dont feel bad,either your son dropped the phone or it had defective display...but if phone has no physical damage outside company should replace screen for free. Thou lot of people complainted that their s7 edge display cracked for no reason..and they paid 300$ to replace it

  • Great bang for your buck great sound quality and performance i switched from an s7 edge and no complaints useing it on tmobile and lte works fine. Only complaint are the captivate buttons dont light up they should put a digital option like one plus and it is perfect. Got it for 350 us dollars on amazon.

  • Kind of frustrated, as I purchased two Axon 7s in Sep this year, one for my son and one for myself. My son's phone was down in early Dec. How could it be? Two and a half months only. The quality control is very weak then. I sent it back for checking, but the answer is the LTD monitor is broken inside. We didn't drop it. The CS said they would try to ask if it's broken during shipping. I don't think the shipping company would say yes and pay for the charge to fix the problem. If no, I need to pay $79.99 + tax, which is a disaster. If a new phone can be down after less than 80 days, the company should responsible for it. Even though the company fixed the problem, I already lost confidence. It's a disaster.

  • I have that one and it is great. The only thing that makes an impact is the 6GB. You can keep more apps open without the phone slowing down. The only thing the Axon 8 may be different may be the design and a 830 or 835 Snapdragon compared to the 820 in the 7. Faster, but at this point the 820 is pretty fast. Unless you want to run like 2 heavy gaming apps with streaming video and music at the same time with an SD 830 or 835.

  • It's not a bad phone. You should really buy it for its sound capability. How I would describe it compared to the s7 is like this: It's like the s7 except for several things: screen (brightness and curvature), not waterproof, and more stock-like. But that's not to say there aren't problem. One very unfortunate thing right now is that NFC doesn't work. It has NFC but it doesn't work namely if you try to use Android Pay and you use your fingerprint to authenticate it will loop asking you for your fingerprint. Additionally the s7 camera is great, the axon 7's is eh. It alright in good lighting but terrible in poor. Additionally, it's ability to capture moving objects is quite poor and so you'll see motion blur a lot...like a ton.

  • Today I bought this phone and will give a try, I had a Samsung S5 and then an Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, this two did no resist the use required, the Mainboard and battery got burned. They lasted only 6 and 5 months. I was thinking on buying an Oneplus 3 but, it reaches high working temperature, so, I decided for ZTE, (of course it has better configuration: camera, screen, audio, earphones). I prefer the Axon Pro Screen, which is a beautiful flat screen, so you can install perfectly a tempered glass screen protector.

Its one and half month already I am using this jewel phone. What a look it has so is the performance. Get it updated. Have great pleasure with the audio. Viewing video is amazing.   • Since no one replied, may as well give it a shot. I'm not well versed in phones, but I think Axon7 is better. That's the one I'm going with. It has pretty much everything Samsung Galaxy S7 has, except better camera and split screen. Though, split-screen may come with the Nougat update for Axon7. And you can get Axon7 for almost half the price of a Galaxy S7. Although, Galaxy S7 has wireless charging, if you fancy that. And a fingerprint magnet for a body...depending on the colour you choose, I think.

  • Depends on your priorities, if you want removable battery and excellent camera then V20 should be your obvious choice. If you want best sound quality, bigger battery then Axon 7 should be your choice. Alternatively you can go for Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe which has higher RAM and newer Snapdragon 821 processor but it's insanely pricey.

  • I purchased axon 7. I had problem with the audio. People cannot hear me when I make a call. Cast to Bluetooth or HD TV the audio become very faint. So I replaced the phone. The calling problem is okay now but the cast audio problem is not fixed yet.

  • Got this phone unlocked off Newegg. Works perfectly fine with WIND mobile, if any other WIND customers are wondering - the one they sell on Newegg is the model with the right band support (as of writing this, October 2016). The screen is large and beautiful with punchy colors that can be slightly adjusted between a few saturation levels and color temperature levels. The fingerprint sensor is well placed for quick one-handed use but since it's on the back it's harder to use when set down. Despite no reviews mentioning it, hopefully this pops up in Google search for anyone wondering: This phone does have a notification LED - it's below and slightly to the left of the front-facing camera. The Capacitive buttons on the front are *not* illuminated and are slightly close together - YMMV on whether or not close together is good. I think it's good because there's no chance of the base of my thumb accidentally triggering back/recent apps. The capacitive buttons' functions can be swapped in order. It does *not* take a long time to memorize where they are, as I was using it in the dark just fine not 30 minutes after unboxing, and I haven't struggled with it once (have had it for a month or so now). In my mind the best thing about this phone is dual stereo front-facing speakers, Dolby Atmos EQ software and built-in DAC quality. If you love having your media sound detailed and clear, this will please you. At maximum volume this phone is room-filling loud, and yet still preserves audio output quality through the speakers. Do note that while the phone sounds great, Dolby Atmos is a finnicky piece of software that does not play well with some music player apps and may disable itself - you can try doing a factory reset to get it back up. Annoying yes, but that's the fault of the application being buggy not the phone itself. I won't comment on camera quality as I don't really care for it and there's enough samples out there. The phone feels nice in hand - the right balance of physical size and weight to feel premium in the hand but not like a brick. It's also very friendly for soft skin - no harsh edges to cut into your palms. All control buttons (volume and power/lock) are on the right side of the phone and are clicky and responsive. The all-metal unibody does feel nice, but as it's been said elsewhere it is uncomfortably slippery - I wish they'd have given it a more matte texture to make it both easy to grip and soft in the hand. Luckily they provide a thin flexible clear plastic case for you to help keep your grip on it. Aside from the front speaker grilles, the phone is elegant looking - no garishly large logos or strange shapes/edges. It does run MIUI on top of Android, but as far as skins go it's not intrusive in the least. By default (they include a skin for MIUI selected by default called "Stock Android") all it does is change how the quick and (full) menu settings look and are organized. That's all. It doesn't really add or take much from the stock android experience, and this is coming from someone who was a Motorola loyalist. As far as "bloatware" goes, there's next to none. There is one or two apps that aren't default Android/Google apps or basic smartphone utilities (ex. media player apps, file browser). The honest to God only complaint I have with this thing is the stupid STUPID "Notification bell" they add to the otherwise generic lockscreen. On the stock lockscreen it hides notifications by default and to see/interact with them you have to tap a bell-shaped icon on the lock screen. Some might call this an extra layer of privacy from peepers on your phone, but anyone who has used a smartphone will know to tap the icon to see them. It's a frustrating little unneeded addition - the only one I can think of as being frustrating about the MIUI skin over Android. Lastly, for the hardware specs - runs snappy with its 4GB of RAM and SD820 processor. Battery life, you can look at more detailed reviews for that, my anecdotes won't say much. It came with around 50 - 60GB of free space from the base 64GB it comes with after system and pre-installed apps, which is pretty good all considered. It's got dual SIM capability, *and* accepts microSD cards, but they're in the same tray so you *cannot* have a microSD card and two SIM cards installed (the tray accepts two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD). If you want a crazy-good media experience out of your phone, get this thing. The price is just right.

  • This is direct from ZTE. Works out equivalent to £417 (and £14 cheaper than I paid!). I bought from Amazon.de direct because ZTE listing was sold out, but they've clearly stocked up! Came within 3 days (and that was over a weekend), loving it so far!

  • I was just about to order one since I thought this would be one of those fully unlocked phones, but there is little support from XDA for it. I checked the year-old Axon Pro on XDA, and there is pitiful support (http://forum.xda-developers.com/zte-axon) . Does ZTE not have unlockable bootloaders? If not, why? Don't they want them to sell them to the people in the US who are most likely to buy them? Why would they cripple what looks to be, spec-wise, a great phone? A big battery, a true 5.5" display without wasting screen with soft buttons, and SD card capability (the lack of which causes me not to buy another Oneplus). But they don't allow XDA to provide the most battery efficient roms with the fastest updates and best performance for it? WTF, ZTE?

  • As far as i'm aware (but I could be wrong); there are three 'models' or setups of the Axon 7: China, US, and EU. Essentially the same hardware, but certain features and settings in the software have been altered to meet the needs of the audience the model is going to. I've avoided buying the China version, as from what i've heard these models normally come with a different/more modified OS to suit the government restrictions etc, and to make them good for outside use they're wiped with a more 'friendly' OS (to include GAPPS etc). Too much fiddling around in my opinion. Could explain the bugs you got (but again I could be wrong); i've gone for an EU model as presumably this model is what the UK would get anyway?   • Unfortunately because of the crappy GBP (and we haven't even Brexited yet!) you pay slightly over the odds for this phone- I paid £430 from amazon.de, which is almost £100 above the RRP of £350 (US RRP is 400USD). But considering that retail is about to go up by 5% due to our crap currency, better 430 than more!

  • Where do you live to get such low pricing on Zuk 2 pro ? Pretty much everywhere i check it's from 480-550 $.Some ebay sellers sell it for 600$ even.Xiaomi mi 5 around 350$ yeah.So far almost the Zte axon 7 is around 400$.

  • Well, (okay the ZTE Axon 7 is not perfect, & nothing is), it needs some software updates, etc. But considering everything holistically, such as all the very top specs that it includes (flagships like, of $800/50 or so) & at the very very low price, of just €399 or so, I think that it is really the most value for money phone (flagship like) out there. It is even better/ worth it than other good phones such as the Huawei Honor 8, Alcatel idol 4s, Xiaomi Redmi note 3 & even than the OnePlus3, etc. Well, I think this year ZTE was/is the best company that offered the best for the best price. The ZTE Axon 7 is really the best phone to buy! (For all those who don't want to spend $850 or so, but want to have something very very similar for just $399). Definitely well done & absolutely keep it up to ZTE (Axon 7) thanks

  • I owned AXON 7 for a few days, unfortunately it had to go back because of speakers issues. It is a fast phone, indeed. Excellent and reliable fingerprint reader, nice screen, top build quality, good battery life. But software is not so good, too many bugs. Dolby Atmos equalizer doesn't hold your setting and won't let you choose to keep your setting as you like but switches to one of the built in modes depending on what your doing (music, film, etc). What's the point of having "custom mode" then? You have to accept that Dolby Atmos works this way. Or just turn it off. But... If you do there might be a little problem. Dolby Atmos feature stops working randomly and sometimes there's a problem to turn it on back again. The device has to be restarted, sometimes a few times. I didn't like that strange idea with a bell icon you have to press to see your notifications on the lock screen. A notification led flashes in 2 colors only - red and green and I experienced a very annoying bug: red light was often flashing without any notifications. Sound on headphones is really good, although could be louder but front facing speakers are overhyped. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting excellent sound as advertised and in real life it's only good. Don't get me wrong, sound is better than on 99% other phones but it's just not so loud and rich as I expected. I would say sound is a bit tinny but at least pretty clear. I owned a few other phones with front facing speakers: HTC One M8, Motorola Moto X Style, Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 and they all sound better. I had to return my Axon 7 as a faulty unit because at high volumes speakers were crackling. Totally unacceptable. I've seen many posts regarding the crackling speakers issue on ZTE USA forum website. Which is a double disappointment considering that the audio quality is the main selling point of this device. I have decided to get a refund, not a replacement as I'm loosing too much money here. The seller hasn't refunded yet but the whole story cost me 23 GBP of unrefundable shipping fees from China to the UK and back anyway. Well, I'm not going to take the risk again.

  • I have the phone and it's amazing. I have SOT of 6h 55mins on average use. Measured with GSAM Battery Monitor. The input lag (digitizer lag) using stock rom is 75-80ms. But I think it will improve to around 40-60ms once CyanogenMod is done and the kernel and drivers are optimized.

  • Check the facts before posting BS. The display is a Samsung display! It is exactly the same that Google uses in its over priced Pixel XL phone!

  • They're both great phones. If you want to root & have more freedom, then get the one plus 3. If you want versatility & the better bang for your buck, then it's the Axon 7.

  • It is both MiFlavour and Marshmallow. MiFlavour is their custom layer they put on top of Android Marshmallow(6.0).

  • THE only comlpain is low light camera ... I bought it, want to tell you guys there isn't a better way to get a top of the line flagship. ZTE support is awesome , any issue slowly gets fixed China version has had 27 updates while the US/EU 3 patches and there is already talk of nougat, also if you get a VIP you get 3 years warranty, 6 months for screen shattering and 3 years of water damage.

  • So this is a quick comparison for you: Performance and battery live are almost the same in both of them. Axon 7 has a slightly better camera, but suprisingly in low-light OP3 is the winner. Regarding to sound quality, Axon 7 is second to none. Those speakers just sound great, and the audio output is one of the best I've ever heard. OP3 has nothing to be proud of here, audio quality is rather decent. Oh, and the noise cancellation is terrible. When you make calls outside, better cover the secondary mic with your finger :p However, OP3 is more customizable and has better dev support. It is also more comfortable in everyday use, in my opinion.

  • Just ordered mine from Newegg. I thought long and hard about this and the OnePlus 3. Identically priced in the US but for me the 2K screen, promise of Google Daydream VR compatability, and great audio subsystem pushed me to the ZTE. The free headphones NewEgg throws in doesn't hurt. Also the ZTE comes with a very good 2 year warranty that includes screen breakage with a deductible. The OP3 costs $80 and covers all. Also after years of IPhones, I told myself no more phones without expandable memory! I think the OP3 probably wins for the modified OS but ZTE seems to have the better voice command (even unconnected). Also while the OP3 has Dash Charge it is proprietary, while ZTE's is QC 3.0. I have used 2.0 and love it for Qualcomm SOC's. We will see if ZTE keeps their promise with Daydream because to do so means a Nougat upgrade ASAP. I guess we will see. I could once again be a stupid early adopter.

  • Unlocked ver... I've owned a few smart phones. Sony c4, galaxy s6. Before I get into how much better this is let me start by commenting the unboxing is like Christmas clear gel case cover, nice premium ear buds, screen protector on phone and a secondary in packaging, key chain for the sim-key, USB c adapter for secondary charger. So let's get to bloatware I did not see allot boasting ZTE on this unlocked phone and they are not consumer hustling there wares. The finger print reader is better than the s6 which never got my reading right. I enjoy the feature now using this product hassle free. Performance is flagship material. Blows away most tablets and some laptops with sound output, even sounds better in the car. I could go on for days in just the few hours I've handled the device. Realistically screen CMd is low but setting let you tweak aspects, it's not water proof.... I keep phones dry even working on the water. You have fun finding that phone at 12m depth. The cons are realistic and people nit picking have say 'it's a slippery phone but did u get a case in the box... The price is the most beautiful part I think they took a hit on this to break the market. I almost expect it to go up in price or hold price awhile.

  • ZTE is definitely giving HTC a run for their money with this phone, these specs are completely outta control, added the fact that they have those front facing speakers, which I will agree is a copy from the HTC M8 & M9, but look at the specs on those verses the Axon. Makes you wish they made this phone sooner doesn't it? Right now, I'm scraping together as much money as I can to get this. AND ALONG WITH TOP OF THE LINE SPECS FOR A CHEAP PRICE, They take good care of their customers. They make sure their customers are having a quality experience with their phones which is more than I can say about HTC. All in all, this is a prime example of cheap phones getting better, and "better" phones getting cheaper

  • I own all three audio centric phones: ZTE Axon 7, Lenovo Vibe X3 and Vivo X5Max. I have heard them extensively over audiophile grade headphones for quite sometime now. To me the best audio centric phone is Vivo X5Max. To me in terms of audio quality: X5Max > Vibe X3 > Axon 7 Audio quality just cannot be measured by the underlying hardware. Circuit design and proper implementation is also important. Then comes the manual tuning of the final sound signature by sound engineers through headphones. In that sense x5max not only have the best audio hardware and implementation but also the best sound tuning.

  • There are 2 version of the phone, look for the G variant to have the best connectivity.

  • It can't use two sims at the same time as the microSD card - the second slot is used for the second sim OR the microSD, not both.

  • It's my understanding that the 6gb RAM version is only for the Asian market. But there's nothing stopping you from finding a vendor that will sell you the phone. Whether it will work in the UK may be another story.

  • I adore this phone for so many reasons. In fact i asked my brother-in-law to order it for me in Canada via newegg for 530 C$, Tad bit more than in the US. My only and biggest complaint of this phone is the non lit, and poorly placed capacitive buttons. Still i will take them to on screen buttons. Currently using HTC One M8s and Note 4.   • The USA version is the 4GB Ram version and 64GB ROM. As for the SD card, I read 256GB on other sites too, but I had already ordered a 128GB card. The 128 card works perfectly. I have no idea if it supports 256GB or not. Also, the pic is wrong as ZTE axed the on screen buttons and they are now capacitive buttons located on the black bar above the bottom speaker, which are just dots so you can choose which one you would like to be the back button and which one is for all apps. This phone is an outstanding performer and for the price it can't be beat.

  • I'm yet to see a Xiaomi which is a iPhone clone, only the software is iOS-ish and many people like MIUI, it's one of the best ROMs out there. Now, Meizu, indeed has it's designs clearly based on iPhone's. Companies should start designing round and triangular phones, because every phone that gets released have at least one guy saying that it's a copy from another phone! BTW, the design of the Axon 7 is an evolution from the original Axon from last year, that was released BEFORE the Lenovo X3!

Look at all the iPhone clones out there, from the likes of Meizu, Oppo & Xiaomi. I think I remember reading that this sort of copying is legal over there.   • Bought this phone as soon as it was released. I had it for 4 days now and it no longer works. I noticed on day 2 that it was having charging issues. And now on day 4 i cant get the phone to turn on for the life of me. I thought it may have been the charger but when i plug other devices in the stock charger it works so it has to be the phone. Don't waste your money. Sound quality during phone calls also trash. It's only good if you are listening to music. ZTE I want my money back

  • The Axon 7 has the same design as that the Axon pro and it also released last year same as the vibe x3 that you mentioned. In fact the Axon pro(july2015) released way before the vibe x3(november2015) so it is Lenovo who copied ZTE.

  • Nope, everywhere I looked, even on the official zte site, they only go as far as calling it 'dual speaker'. Nobody credible has called it stereo, and I'm sure zte would have called it stereo if it was stereo. It'll still be better than pretty much everything out there, but don't get your hopes up for stereo.

  • It quite literally would have cost them nothing. The FM radio capability is built right into the SD820 chipset. All they would have had to do would enable it in the software.

  • It's a very interesting phone. The only thing that prevents me from buying it, is non-removable battery... in all my recent phones, the lifetime of the batteries was around 11 months, then they started degrading quickly. With this phone, to replace the battery, it will have to be disassembled, ruining its integrity, and who knows whether users with rooted smartphones will be respected warranty, or not. At the moment, i try to avoid non-removable batteries at all costs.

  • The speakers on this phone are awesome. I wish this was a Nexus phone! If it had a bigger battery and ran stock Android, I'd sell my 6P without question. And my 6P has been great all-around. This id how you do dual front-facing speakers with minimal bezels, Google!

  • A fantastic looking phone with great specs. For me, it is only the weight (185 grams) that is a negative. No 5.5 inch phone should weigh more than 160 grams. The Huawei Mate 8, a 6 inch phone is also 185 grams, very light for that size - it also has a heavier battery - 4000 mAh. The LG G3 was lighter than average for a 5.5 inch device at only 149 grams, although made of plastic which is lighter than metal. Anyway, compactness is important to me and I would hesitate before buying a 5.5 inch phone as heavy as the Axon 7.

  • This phone would be very exciting as other pgones in the axon series have been. Big thing is that it has a 20mp camera with f1.8 aperture which looks better yhan lg g5 which has 16mp f1.8 aperture . Powered with the kryo sd 820 it will have no issues as far as performance is concerned. At last the 6gb ram would steal the show. This phone is capable of competeing with htc, samsung ,etc.

  • Updates are handled way better when carriers are not involved. If you buy this phone or any unlocked phone (like a Nexus) updates are pushed through OEM not the retail you bought it from

  • looks really good so far. there are just 2 things that bothered me there. first, the parts above and below the antenna lines looked like plastic at times, although they seemed to be metal at others. so i guess that's just the lighting? but that aside, the rather protruding camera lens... around 1:50 it even looks like they scratched it, but it's probably just smudged. i'd still feel uneasy about resting it on a desk or some other solid surface, though. and i don't like using cases because metal bodies are so pleasant to hold

  • The zte seems to tick most of those boxes, it provides warranty for example. The quality seems a lot Kore solid than the mi5, but just as we saw the quality of the mi5 through reviews and such, we will eventually see the same for this one.

All complete spec with powerful processor, huge ram, front facing stereo speaker, beautiful camera and etc. Other flagship are gonna have a tough competiton this year with its really competitive pricing. Can't wait to own one, well done ZTE.

But at least here in India flagships from Samsung HTC n all high enders cost more than double the price of Chinese flagships so thats y v prefer these ... N obviously Samsung HTC lg make some top of the line phones with superior quality features but we don't get those cheap here... Avg price of Chinese flagships here are 370-400 USD and s7 HTC 10 g5 cost around 900 USD

  • Same here. I would never buy a chinese phone. People look at the specs and think it is good. What they don't know is that the quality build is very low - see that fortune cookie called MI5. There is a reason why they are cheaper. But don't expect them to tell you why lol. And on top of that, the software optimizations are the worst. Maybe a normal user won't notice, but tech guys sure will. Don't even get me started with the warranty service. Conclusion: what you pay is what you get. If you plan on using the phone just for a few months, go ahead, buy one, but if you want a real flagship to use for at least 1-2 years, get a high end flagship like the S7, XP or M10.

  • streaming audio can take quite a bit of your data, though, while FM radio is free. assuming you're listening to a humble 64kbps AAC stream, that's gonna take about 1MB per 2 minutes. then 30 minutes of that stream per day would almost eat up a 500MB plan on its own

  • No FM radio, on a newer phone, again. It is true, that not everybody is using that feature, but there are countries, where FM radio is still a must feature. Anyway, you can listen to FM radio almost everywhere, but you can not use Internet radio everywhere, because there is NO Wi-Fi everywhere.

  • There is an fp scanner, they just haven't listed it. Look at the pictures, they're the official TENAA leaked images and there's a scanner under the flash. Let's hope the speaker grills are real this time!
