ZTE Obsidian - User Reviews

  • memory is way too small for current applications, and adding SD card doesn't help that. The programs it come with all require phone memory, and they take most of the 4gb. Constant notices that things aren't updating because of low memory, and I barely have anything added. I wouldn't buy unless you pretty much just use it for calls.

  • hello I need the key to remove zte z820 account

  • Hie guys i need touch for the phone..

  • It's a very inexpensive phone. For the price? I can't really complain. I've had this phone for over a year. Problem is when people call it sometimes doesn't ring. Or, they call, but the service holds the message hostage, and I don't get it until days later. The pictures are okay; not like an i-phone, but, okay, especially if you take outdoors. If you are on a budget, or just don't care about having the latest $1000 phone, you just need the basics, this might be the right phone for you.

  • I have found the same problem s!! U pay for the unlimited plan and then U R unable to save/move the data to a Sim card is annoying!!!

  • Pls i need the frimware

  • you can unlock fone by yourself rather going out go to app manager there you will find unlock device enable it and restart your fone

  • PLS i need the rom and gapps for this phone

  • I had mine for a year. Its a okay phone but has little space and has a ok camera. I like it but has minor problems. I've thrown it a lot and it hasn't broke. So its okay but not good.

  • I really need my phone to be unlocked..it came from the USA but I can't use it in Malawi. what can I do?

  • I really need my phone to be unlocked..it came from the USA but I can't use it in Malawi. what can I do?

  • Phone blows....

  • You read my mind. Very much so.

  • Good day i am usingZTE Blade, having a problem with recieving, dialled and missed calls dates it does'nt show them in ascending order. What is the problem? i have been checking the setting but could'nt find help

  • I find that for a cheap phone it works very well except for a few quirks that makes one either choose to live with it, buy a new phone or cuss. The phones inability to recognize the SD storage card and inability to move Apps to the card is a pain. 4GB runs out very quickly after one takes into consideration T-Mobile's built-in Apps and the size of some of the more popular Apps like Facebook, Google+, and Messenger. Makes one wonder why bother to have SD storage if it is hesitant to even save pictures from some apps. Also the icons, on the desktop constantly move around at will and never stay where you put them.

  • How do I download music from my ZTE Z820 phone ? I want music fully downloaded just exactly like YouTube for a example .

  • What steps did you take to root your ZTE Obsidian?

  • Very nice phone worth the money

  • Exactly, once fully charge charge may last an hour and a half. It takes 2 hours are More to charge. That's my only problem.

  • I love this phone, I play Fallout 4, Doom, as well as other great games on this. The internal space in unbeatable, and the fingerprint scanner works before you even put your finger on it! it can read your mind, and tells you before you send your parents your nudes! and holy cow the update time is so fast.. the last update it let me play playstation from anywhere i can even hack other phones remotely from my house its unbelievable!!! and don't even get me started on its porn video playback abilities, I won't go into any details, but it shows EVERYTHING!

  • ZTE Obsidian is a rich smart phone with a large capacity for apps. it can easily take a number of 20-35 GB apps. My one gripe -- and this is for all smart phones -- is that it won't use the external memory for storing apps. It seems this is so customers will pay for a more expensive phone. So unless you take pictures every moment of your life or insist on downloading movies onto this small screen (compared to a movie theater screen, television screen, or even monitor screen), I recommend using only 4GB external memory. I added Pokemon Go, and it worked well, but it was a very large app and I couldn't keep it on my phone because of other apps I needed to use. I use it for times I am in places other than my routine. I use my phone for Internet, of course, but also for word processing, note writing, voice recording, calendar, calculator, flashlight, G-mail, downloading and reading books, screenshots, camera--front and back facing (both make good quality pictures), messaging, listening to downloaded music, learning circuitry, Maps, bus routes, weather, emergency notifications, YouTube, and, of course, games, mostly arcade games and puzzles. I use the telephone mode for my main phone having replaced my landline completely with MetroPCS phone service (through T-Mobile network). My Obsidian connects well with any Wi-Fi, including my wireless router at home. Pictures I take and downloads I get are difficult to find by file manager. It seems I have to use different programs or upload into Google Drive or Dropbox (it prefers Google Drive) to find them. Perhaps in another phone this file-finding function will be more complete, like the file manager in a desktop or laptop. I find the pictures I take are good images. I use the functions to get better colors through white balance, close-up macro function, and preprogrammed functions as well. I recommend playing with all of these settings to find what they do. If I can do it with a tremor that makes the camera shake, anybody should be able to do so. Any camera with a 2 MP capability can produce a good picture. Anything larger than 5 MP is just vanity and conceit. Or for printing banners.

  • it's a good phone but the camera sucks. any way to fix tht? if not i'll just get a new phone..

  • How do you fix the bootloop?

  • Mine to...can't charge it and use it cause tempature in creases...not just that but I hear random dial tones on it a lot

  • My thoughts are that those that don't like the phone are comparing it to those that would cost much more. I have owned many inexpensive phones and this one is hands down ten times better all of them. It is so fast compared to all the phones of my past. It has options I have never had, and though I am still learning how to use it, that is really a good thing. Every phone I have ever had for a comparable price you could learn in one day because they didn't do much. So I vote a 30 out of 5 stars.

  • This was definatially the worst phone I ever owned. The battery started over heating the first day I owned it and I had to be careful when charging it. This phone really sucks!!!

  • its not a great phone but i didnt expet much for a $35 phone it would be good if your kids ar begging you for one tho

  • Well, the phone is really weak, but for $60 it had been doing what I wanted it to do: it worked for two weeks without bugs until i bought a good one. So not that bad buy for me.

  • Easily the worst phone i've ever bought.Did not expect much whatsoever as I was looking for a basic phone to handle calls and texts. This cost me about $150 at T-molibe,what a waste.First week the phone would restart itself while handling minor tasts such as texting. The phone does not have enough memory to update its own software.Almost 6 months later and the screen is now unresponsive,it often taps itself on the right side of the screen opening up apps and changing its own settings.Trying to make a call is a nightmare, time to switch.I would have honestly preffered a brick of over this crap phone.

  • So this phone cost me 199 at tmobile problem very first day and so after doing a master reset several times they warranty it the next phone I got was even worse now that my contract is almost up I'm getting another one due to loss of everything not even the power button works look if anyone at all tells you this phone is good they either work for tmobile or a retailer of this crappie phone this phone may be the worst phone in history and I've owned a brick phone in the 80z don't buy this one and try to find s carrier that is honest

  • I wish I'd never bought this phone. I shouldn't of expected so much from something so cheap! There's too little storage space on here for apps and you can't move anything to the sd card but photos and vids. I don't know about other obsidians, but mine won't even let me look up apps on the play store, I gotta do it on Chrome bc it crashes when I try. The only thing this phone is good for is basic uses, like making calls, using email, and the internet. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone unless you don't mind not having very many apps, music, and lag here and there. My old phone was a bit faulty, but it was way better compared to this.

  • Can zte obsidian metro phone can go on Facebook live I wanna know please ? And this a android

  • Guys, this phone is 20$ If you want a basic phone to do basic things then you got the right phone but i will warn people since i sell this phone it IS NOT SD card friendly and does not support SD cards, the phone is simply a 20$ phone to get you to do basic things, spend a extra 30-40$ if you want something more high end

  • Anyone who is having problems with this phone like I did, read here. Not a bad phone after you root it with KingoRoot apk, was able to delete all the bloatware off of it, underclock the cpu, and I average about 2 1/2 days for battery life. Using rootdim which also dims your screen past OEM is nice, so I can technically use this phone with 10 hours of screen time. Rooting this phone really wakes the quad-core cpu on this phone and makes it much more responsive. I highly recommend it, and those who don't want to root it can disable all the useless bloatware in Android's built-in application manager in the settings, very useful. Just don't install BusyBox or Xposed, I heard that'll boot-loop the phone. 8/10 overall, not bad for $40

  • Not bad, would be the perfect two words for this phone. Yes people, this is a phone that cost 20 $ and for that price you can't expect a high specs phone. I got mine in october and I can say that for that cheap price, at first it was kind of impressive. However, installing heavy apps like Facebook or other, the phone would start to act slowly and you have to delete the cache everytime you're done with using an app. This may seem like a bother but is actually not a big deal. The original launcher of ZTE is not that good so I ended up downloading an Iphone launcher to access my apps more quickly. The big problem here is the storage, You cannot install apps in the SD card and that pisses me off considering I have a 32 gb card but I can only use it for my photos, videos and music. What were they thinking? 4 gb is not enough for apps. But oh well, I might go back to My samsung galaxy with straight talk. It's not a bad phone if you don't really use apps to often, and 20 dollars for this... I think its a great price for it! that is my recommendation people.

  • Worst freaking phone ever!!!!! Out of nowhere it started to click on the screen, it freezes and crashes, when a text pops up I can't respond right away, types words I don't type, storage sucks, does not download apps even tho there is more than enough storage for the app, calls people at random, camera sucks, it is just the worst "smartphone" ever. Can't even listen to music without it messing up.

  • worst phone i've ever had, one morning i woke up and there was a software update available, but when i download it an error occurs and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. thanks a lot T-mobile. please don't waste your money on this phone

  • Worst phone ever!! Won't play music on auxiliary cord in the car, just started freezing when I try to listen to music, too too many pop-up's,pls anyone let me know where I can get my 50 dollars back!

  • Do not accept zte update .it says it enhances your phone all it did was f ...up my phone. Zte ,please don't send me anymore of your so called updates until you know what the hell your doing.....

  • How can you move them to the SD card?

  • worst phone i ever had, after 2 weeks of use it gets stuck in a bootloop and can't fix it

  • Great phone for the money. Have no problems after 30 days of use and just received a factory upgrade that did fine on mine. Don't know how anyone complain about a $19 dollar phone that has all the options that this one does.

  • Very disappointed, worst phone I ever owned. Little internal storage, can't move apps to SD card, sound cuts in and out, crashes when I plug in speakers or to car stereo auxiliary and battery needs almost constant charging while playing games or listening to music.

  • Where do I get the micro USB cable - hdmi for ZTE 820? Thank you

  • This phone just got a software update but I cannot even download it after a factory format, because the 4gb of memory isn't enough to download it and install. Thanks for the cheap out ZTE, can't even update my phone.

  • I enjoy this phone for the most part, but an issue that I've been dealing with since day one is that the phone will freeze if I have the volume turned up high. I have to keep the volume at most two clicks below full volume, or else the playback will stop, and after a few times of playback being interrupted it will freeze. I've owned it for three months now, and before I knew that the issues were linked to the volume it would freeze multiple times per day.

  • How. I have this phone and that is my only problem with it besides the bad quality if the front camera.

  • Worst phone I ever had. The first one would call people from my address book while I was on a call, it would put the person I thought I was talking to on hold then leave me rambling to someone I didn't know I was talking to. This was very socially embarassing. The second one I owned (after I traded the defective one in) wouldn't get on the internet no matter how hard I tried.

  • Quite possibly the worst phone I have ever had. At first, for its price, it seemed like it would be alright. However, the problem comes with the fact that, despite having more than enough storage for an app, after a while, it will complain that there is insufficient storage. I've tried everything, and it continues to have this issue. Couple it with the agonizingly slow processing times, having to reboot the phone after a few hours just so texts will go through, and its uncanny ability to latch onto worthless WiFi connections despite unchecking the Wifi setting, and you have yourself a nice piece of junk. As soon as I upgrade, this phone will either be in the trash or used as a paperweight. Maybe a standard MP3 player. But as a smartphone, it is nearly useless. If you're looking for a cheap phone that actually works, please look elsewhere.

  • Can you edit photos? change to black & white. borders? thanks.....

  • It is as unintuitive as you can get. It was cheap, so I guess I get what I paid for. It works but the screen is stuffed with too much junk, the simple calling/receiving process is more complicated than need be. Sound is good, the screen is o.k.. I have operated an iPhone, and I can now see why people spend the extra money, Apple works quickly and simply, ZTE gets complex where it should be simple.

  • You can move to SD card but it s pain

  • I own one of these, I have been using it for about a month, I think it is great, it works pretty smoothly, all the apps respond quickly. I can also look stuff up pretty quickly to. Downloads things at a fair pace. Some things I don't like about this phone is that it does not have a function where you can transfer apps to your SD card, so all of your apps have to go into your phone storage (which is only 4 GB). One last thing I don't like is that it has a grey screen when it is off, which most phones now have a black screen when the power is off. So overall I think it is a 4 out of 5.....

  • Mine just randomly started crashing for no reason. Went to store twice and the guys there had no idea what was going on, and said that as far as they could tell it was fine. Took days to receive texts on the thing sometimes. Good riddance.

  • Tbh I own one and it sucks hardcore, response is laggy, types words you did not type, types words as if predicting without asking, and its not rootable at all

  • Got a look-touch-feel at a T-M store last week. This is a bath tub boat-anchor, I'm sorry to say.

  • Nice

  • please cubot in mobile shop on malaysia
