  • I had the 'Elfin' model of this phone for more than four years and it has served me well, although it could have done with some faster hardware. Speed was dramatically improved when overclocking to 312mhz. Liked everything about it - sad that windows mobile did not continue on or have any support in windows phone. Very durable, customizable and easy to use but in the end, one last drop broke the LCD and I thought it may as well be time for a new phone. Battery will last approximately 2 days when overclocked at 312mhz and with WM 6.5.x Android is available on this phone however it is very limited and there is not enough hardware support to use it properly as a phone or PDA.

  • No, that makes no problem. In fact, Windows Mobile 6.1 is better than 6.0. Anyways you can step up further to Windows Mobile 6.5.

  • I'm sorry about he earlier post but yes you can install android on it. You can find it at or pockethacks.com/android-froyo-2-2-for-htc-touch-­htc-vogue-cdma/. If you have Htc Vogue (CDMA Version of touch) then it would be better since it has a higher processor and the andoid os would replace the windows os completely.

  • The camera is average. Since its screen is of that size the pixels are a little stretched out for a 2mp camera. It would be better if it had atleast a 3.2mp camera.

  • hi nice to write for gsmarena again after a long long time for guys having problem with battery backup {as i read about most of them}they can use a higher end non htc battery prefarably a 2000MH BATTERY available in market or on ebay which promises an amazing 3 day backup.have fun.

  • Be careful not to buy the copies from china.The are hard to tell a part from original but once you open the phone at the back or see the phone box and application...you will see the knock offs for what they are. Chinese versions don't pack neatly and the acessories look cheap without HTC logo on them. If you don't buy an original, you are sure to have problems

  • Been using this phone since 2008 and i can say i still find it a great phone. At the time i paid a near 500 $ for the unlocked version but today it goes for around 150 -200 $ new and if you want something with a pleasing allure and good fucntionality of a smrt phone then get it.The processor is 200 MHZ but if you do not do too many taks at once , you will not notice it(seriously mutitasked 3 applications at a time and noticed nothing). Videos are played great and music is good too. I was thinking of changing my phone lately but in the end i thought why? This one never gave me any problems and it has all the basics someone could need ..if you are not a geek or someone out only for new tech. The touch screen keeps it in the game still and the WM6 makes it a very apt adversay for the iphone if you wish to download free games and application without paying money all the time.The wifi additon is superb and the cam is 2 mpx , descent..if you are not looking for SLR quality from any phone hahahaha. At the current price, i got one for my wife dispite newer models out. Don't need 5 or 8 mpx cam or a faster processor or even a second cam infront so this one is pretty neat and very useful. You can go for the the i"parasite" phone if you like but why pay alot for fnctions that you will never exploit when HTC touch can give that to you for fraction.Besides..aren't you sick of everyone having the same phones.Be original....HTC original

  • I hv been using HTC Touch for abt 4 months now, my sms is not working properly. When I send a msg, after 2 or 3 msgs it gets stuck in outbox and after 1 or 2 mins it says unable to send msg as sim is not valid, but the sim works fine in another phone.   • bettary issue is normal in all wm devices just adjust your screen light to lower level and don't use vipration u have aloud sound.u will get alonger battery life it will be around 36 hours

  • If you are looking at the phone on the right side you will see a section of the silver that is seperated from the rest. Pull the section out and you will see the slot for the card. Look at the pictures on this website for a better idea of what I'm saying.

  • I�m using the enhanced version. Upgraded to windows 6.5 by onyx DSIXDA from xda-developers.com and use SPB mobile shell sense as home screen (looks like android). Radio, IPL and SPL version was upgraded. Nice phone, really handy, small phone, sleek design, many apps that can be installed, good call quality, text messages ok, email ok, wifi good, Bluetooth good, multitasking, sounds good, never hangs. GPRS/EDGE connection is really slow. Battery is easily drained, considering that it uses only 201 MHz processor. Tweak power management setting but only helped a little. Hard to use under the sun, back light should be set to the highest. IE mobile is moderate to slow in performance but can use other browsers.

  • Used this phone for about 2 years, at the end of which the phone started to freeze unexpectedly. Ultimately I had to discard it.

  • had this phone for one and a half years.Battery life is poor if you use it on average. Freezes sometimes when installing some applications. you can find some good third party apps like core player(plays avi videos) opera mini and skyfire which doesn't work well on this phone. After all i have to say that windows mobile sucks. I don't advice anyone to buy this phone because it is outdated.Go for Android platform where the number of apps is growing rapidly.

  • it's really good phone with reasonable price. Battery is also good. It can last for more than 3 days with maximum usage. Remember to turn off wifi and bluetooth. If wifi is on, the battery will be out for just more than 1 day.

  • This is the front-runner for THE ABSOLUTE WORST PHONE that I have EVER owned. I went through 3 of them in under a year and a half. Freezes. Locks up. Can't access text messaging or even the folders related to texting. Dumped my ENTIRE contact list several times, all 260+ of them. Takes a long time to input that many names and numbers just to have it all disappear in a few short motnths. I'm currently using a 6+ yr old Sanyo clamshell phone that has not had anything close to the problems I had with the HTC Touch. Looks like my parents were right. They really don't make things like they used to.. lol

  • hi, i do not use this phone but this is a common problem with all the windows based mobiles. i have a Motorola Q8 GSM and that too have this problem. This is mainly because of a corrupt interface of the Media player. Only solution is to get the software update from the auth. service center. Make sure u take back up of all ur data before going for an update as it will delete all the data.

  • I just bought a htc and i found several problems with mine. When i first turned on my device for the first time the quick start device never started up. On the htc home page there is no weather tab whatsoever. The installation cd they send me was in Chinese so i could understand it. The fact the manual only has 7 chapters but yet there is reference to a chapter 10 which i had to download off the internet. The program voice commander along with possible other programs no yet noticed are missing altogether.

  • That is just not true, with HTC Touch you can record the whole conversation (speaker & a listener) I mean both persons. I've done that!

  • In order for you be able to touch once, you have to align the screen by going to Setting/System/screen then you'll see how to align the screen.

  • Worst device i ever had. Call recording doesnt work. You can record your own voice but you can't record Voice of person you speak with. Chinese law prohibits call recording, so this function has been disabled by hardware way. And no way to enable it. I wonder why dont chinese speak their HTC devices themselves? Instead they send them to us, like if we were in China and live by law of China. That is the case - you bought it, now go for replacment.

  • go to settings then to today you can then click on the second tab at the bottem and you can tick the apps you want on the home screen hope i helped :-)

  • all you need to do is to slide your finger from the bottem of the phone where the htc symbol is and when you get a menu up you click on comm manager you can then tapp the wi-fi button this activates your wireless then you go to start > settings > connections tab then you can click on Wi-fi you will have a selection of wireless networks avialable you simply select the one you want to use and click connect you can then use internet explorer to brows the net hope i helped :-)

  • at first you have to do a screen test (settings/self test), if it shows fail, thet u have to change a touch screen (it costs about 10 bucks at ebay with shiping.

  • When you get a phone of this caliber you should include a maintenance plan. They tend to only be a couple of bucks extra a month. I've had service done and even had it replaced with an upgrade to Windows 6.1 mobile and it didn't cost me a dime. The maintenance plan is worth it.

  • I used this phone for almost an year and its good if it is under warranty. This is phone is a night mare for me. My warranty was expired on June 2009 and my phone went wrong in July. Phone freezing, extreme slowness, activ sync probs etc really frustrated me. After one year and three months the phone just stopped working! Apparently an IC needs to be replaed it seems! Support is not availbale at my end. I have given up...

  • Other than the slim design, this phone is the worst phone I've ever had!!! The phone has this annoying blinking light that can't be turned off in the front speaker, the stylus top breaks and comes off easily, and the bottom can get stuck inside!! I got 2 styluses, one top broke, and the other came off (and the metal got stuck inside!!!)..also, after a while, there's like a liquid in the middle of the screen inside, it looks disgusting...the earphones also loses it's rubber, the one that holds it together, I suddenly lost mine, and the earphone just fell apart.. It's also very slow!!! and the phone can't vibrate and play ring tone at the same time...This is the worst...don't buy this phone...

  • I researched into this phone heaps and was quite disappointed. I've used it for 8 months and have noticed that its reaction time to touch is slow. The whole touchflo technology on this phone is a little overated. It's hardly helpful when you're in a rush. The PDA is great though.

  • the 2 main difference of the phone is the quality of the camera and the wi-fi capability. The touch has wi-fi capability while the Cookie doesnt but the cookie has a better camera than the Touch. Just try to find out which application sooths your needs.

Phone's outer shell can easily get damaged if dropped a couple of times. the coating around the camera backpanel starts peeling off. i felt the phone is quite good except for these problems.... people who love PDA's can buy this phone.. otherwise i recommend you to buy someother phone if u dont insist upon PDA. This phone is best in Terms of PDA for low cost. and its kind of bad when compared to other phones. IMPT : This phone cannot be handled roughly...U should Take very good care of this phone to work properly.

  • your phone may just be on battery saving mode. in the first few days of owning this phone i thought my phone kept switching off too, but it was just on pwer saving mode, the screen goes blank/black. if this is the case you just press the power button once and it should go back to normal. im not sure if this is the case with you , just trying to help out .

  • hi shefali, am using touch for 6 months. its a good fone. yes it has handwriting recognition n its pretty inteligent. its called da transcriber. its accurate n user friendly too. i hav a good example- actually am a student, sumtimes wen i dont get my notebook to any lecture i simply use my touch n start writing with da transcriber. u can imagine how fast students hav to write wen professors dictate. but it bcomes difficult to write with such a small stylus!! nevertheless its smart n fast. b4 buying u can hav its demo at any htc authorized dealear or an electronic megastore such as CROMA. n see whether it meets ur satisfaction. touch's processor is fast so it doesnt take time to show up on screen after writing. all da best

  • try SPB full screen keyboard if u want it like your comp keypad. It does support calligrapher but u can only write in a specific area. I suggest use phatpad calligrapher for that (download)

  • The battery backup is worst when it is in use. If you download from internet in phone or in PC for a long time then it is becoming too much hot. At that time you can't touch your "HTC Touch". If it is hot, then it will not charge. So, after few hour battery will be drained and it will turn off. Rather tahn that, it is all in one phone. Still now I'm happy with this phone.   • im using this phone for last 9 months and i am sick of it.now im searching for a place to dump it. within 1 month of buying the sim card slot stopped working. after a few months the usb port started malfunctioning too. & by now it has completely stopped functioning & i hav to use an external charger to recharge the battery.& when i took it to htc customer care they said that repairing these problems wud cost 70% of the price of this damn phone even though my phone was still under warranty. windows mobile operating system sucks. only advantage is that u can change ur rom but no matter what ever rom u put in its still slow & laggy compared to other operating systems. this phone now a pain in ass to use. a complete waste of money.

  • very inadequate ram-rom.the right side chrome-plastic strip covering the sim & microsd ports needs dexterity In opening & closing ,the strip is held In place by rubber -band like stays,which distorted one the first use,thereafter I couldn't shut the port,had to neatly 'exice' the anchoring rubber bands,and stick a transparent cello-tape over the right side!! battery need constant recharging!!! takes about 15-20seconds to wake it from the 'slumber' state!! I wish I had gone for the p3452 version with higher ram-rom but now I have to stick to the p3450[elf-100 aka htc touch] which I bought very recently.

  • received 2 days ago, it's great when u get used to it. the "notes" program in brilliant, you can write with the stylus as long as u need, just like an actual notebook. the buttons are a liitle too awkard, but still, you can turn on the "normal" phone keyboard at any time. great device.

When talking, the phone turns off, then you get cut off cause some stupid comm, manager pops up saying there is no connection. My screen turns off and the light on top is still blinking but NO calls are coming through. The reception sux on the phone.... i DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO PURCHASE THIS. I even asked Telus and they told me this model has a whole bunch of problems and the other HTC's don't have this cause apparently they've "improved" the newer models so i got stuck with the 'crash test dummy' phone! agggggghhhhhhhhhhh

I didn't like the quality of the camera cos whenever had to click the photograph it appears good on the display but dosen't look good in printing, otherwise this device is owsome!!!!!

  • I have very recently purchased this phone and am noticing that the device falls into a sleep mode, or idle mode when left untouched for a long period of time...mostly overnight. Calls are missed, emails are stuck, and text message in outerspace until you press a button on the phone to make it active again. Kinda like a PC that you walk away from. Not clear on why this happens. I like the phone, but not that.

  • There are better phones out there now I've had this for about a year and can't wait to get ride of it. After several months you need to rebuild it, accessing applications, messaging or the web becomes slow/impossible. It's not as if I have a lot stored in the phone, only my contact details, text messages and a couple of photoes in the SD Card. If the SD could be used more instead of using the phone memory then maybe it'd work more efficiently.

  • I had an excalibur and the touch is 3x better. I miss the full qwerty keyboard but that's about all that the excalibur has over the touch. It's light and I feel more feminine walking around with it than the pound-heavy excalibur.

  • I've had my htc touch for 5 months and it hasn't once failed on me and i use it frequently to make calls, surf the net on gprs and take notes, the battery lasts for me about 12 hours with lots of use and about 24 hours when left alone in stand-by, although its not the best in the range it is a sturdy phone and i would recommend it highly

  • I do not recommend this phone. Mine locks up and lags ALL the time. I have to hard reboot my phone (take out the battery)at least 3-4 times a day. I will never buy an HTC product again.

  • I fully agree with you . The sreen of my HTC touch turned to white color after only three month of normal use, just like that. Post sales service and guaranty sercices are hiding after "no apropriate use" and charged me 106 Euros for a new sreen. Never in my life I will buy a HTC product

It does everything i need it it to, Its runs tom tom flawlessly, excellent for music , Emails contacts calendar entries sync with no problem.. No glitches and hangs ... I would give them 10 out of 10 for the design ... Nice stylish small.. Only thing you might want to do is get Battery Status Overclocking software on there ..   • Please do not by HTC products. I bought this year back. it has a display problem. took 5 months to replace after a battle. when I complained through their web, all i got was a simple note to say...noted will get in touch...that was good 4 months back.

  • Well, the performance is ok but as you know HTC touch is the really basic model, so you cant really expect it perform like touch pro or diamon. for a basic use is ok but if you want something more powerful, you really need to go for the pro or diamon. my next HTC should be the pro I hope, cos I love phone with real keyboard.

  • overall its a good phone for anyone!! but the 64/128 version is slow, as i have experienced, and much slower response when i tried to install heavy applications, such as google maps, opera, u cannot store sms/text messages indefinately, because it is stored o phone memory, and if u restarted the device u will lose sms/text messges uptil the last restore point!! touch screen is responsve, and one might forget to use the stick, easy to use with thumb

  • I recently bought a new HTC Touch in India. It�s a cool windows mobile with lot of good features in it. But Battery standby is very disappointing, you may have to charge almost everyday. Touch FLO technology is good, you can reach contacts, messages, bluetooth etc by swiping on the screen. It is very handy & user friendly. It has a 2 MP camera, which is fair enough. The Phone overall appearance and performance is good. You can edit/create/modify word & excel in the phone which is really useful for professionals who want to maintain important documents in their mobile. It easily sync�s with your computer and you can also take backup of your data vice versa. It comes along with a headset and 1 GB card. For those who want to try out windows mobile, i.e. a change from Symbion OS, can sure go for HTC Touch. This is a good PDA phone for the price. I may not be able to comment anything about the service of HTC, as I�m yet to experience the same.

  • I have had 3 of these phone because 2 of them froze completely . The phone is great but if you download a lot of stuff in the phone (so I was told) thats what makes it freeze. As for the screen, it comes with a clear plastic cover that protects it. (HOPE THIS HELPS) : )

  • hey i have one and every time i leave it on standby it automatically shuts off, the green light in the earphone grill still lights but i cant turn the standby off and get to the actual screen, i have to turn it off and turn it bak on. does anyone know why?

  • Yes you can... but you also lock the device so no one can make a call... go to settings, lock, enter your password and mark the box that says "Prompt if device is unused for..." and in the dropdown menu choose from 0 minutes to 24hours... if the devices goes into sleep mode, then you�ll have to enter the password... it is also a good theft deterrent...

  • Hi Mich, Yes you are 100% right, I had N95 and its sucks.... Batter dies quicker than older version, also camera quality getting a bit scrambled after 6-7 month after using it for several times... I think HTC Touch or MDA Touch T-mobile is one of the best for using as mobile phones cause its small as other nokia handses, also it's pretty smart... no need to convert video, just drag and drop... watch tv, games, just like a complete laptop, but much much smaller.   • You need to set-up first your mobile connection settings thru "Network Wizards" (Settings --> Connections --> Network Wizards), then select for your country and network operator that you are using. if the network provider is not available on the given list, you need to contact your network operator to be able to get the GPRS settings and set-up the settings manually. This settings is network dependent.

  • I bought the HTC Touch phone as a Christmas present to myself. I really wanted the iPhone but that would involve changing carriers so I got the Touch. Initially, I was disappointed in slow connectivity with the web but I learned to live with it. It would only connect to 1x. The American version of this phone does not support WiFi, which sucks. Other than that I loved it. My first PDA. After a few months it crashed and I reset it...lost everything that I stored on the phone. Then the screen would not respond to my touches. I took it back and got a replacement. It was great. The web was superfast...Ev connection. But after a few months, the screen went out again so I'm now on my second replacement. No problems yet but I don't expect it to be perfect. I don't think any phone comes without problems.

  • This phone is garbage. It's slow and locks up all the time. I literally tell myself "I hate this phone" 10 times a day. It locks up constantly and when it does you have to reboot which takes a few minutes. Usually I discover it's locked when I want to make a call. Hardly convenient. Just today I was using email and it crashed just like a computer. I wouldn't recommend ANBODY get an HTC product. garbage

  • text on this phone is pretty easy. it has a QWERTY keyboard and you jus use the stylus and choose numbers.. or you can use it like normal phones where example 2 = abc

  • This fone sounds great with music, I havent had any problems with it yet and i hope not to in the future. It's not bad at all so dont believe everything you hear, i've had a great experience with the HTC touch fone.

  • hey,i'll try 2 answer few of these questn. for the'easy text on':it has several method of text input, such as keyboard (qwerty),keypad,block recognizer,transciber,etc.So,its depends on which one do u prefer (since it doesnt have physical keypad/keyboard.) for the price:i think its different in every country, in mine(indonesia) it cost around 3 million rupiah. Overall, for the newbie in pda..i think its quite support for basic needs n easy 2 use.   • I just bought this phone couple of days ago, I found this phone very ease to use. You can install any Windows Mobile base Application very Easily. Camera Quality is not too good but still acceptable. Wireless Works just awesome. Initially you will find hard to browse but still it supports Flash, compare to an iPhone.

  • I just bought the HTC touch two weeks ago and i'm still discovering everything it has to offer. I love the look and feel of the phone (its much lighter and smaller than other touch screen phones on the market) and I love the attention it gets when people realize it can do a lot of what the iphone can do and more especially since it's powered by microsoft. A lot of people don't believe me when I tell them I have all of the MS office programs and that I can play guitar hero! Drawbacks: things like GPS, really cool games and the weather service it taunts you with on the screen have to be acquired with an extra charge. This disappointing since iphone users get to download super cool applications for free for their phone. The picture quality isn't that great either. But, i'm not a big cellphone pic taker anyway. The pics i've downloaded from my pc to my phone look amazing. I'm the type that doesn't like to follow the crowd so if i have to pay a few bucks extra here and there for cool apps I'll do it...i refuse to buy an iphone. I'm also a bit concerned about the following: I just synched my windows media player to the phone and when i listen to music from my mobile media player the songs skip. Is there a hold button somewhere on the phone to prevent this from happening? I also downloaded a song from the sprint music store and noticed that it doesn't skip at all...as a matter of fact it sounds great! but some of the songs I downloaded from my computer media player are now on my spring music store library...how did that happen? Your feedback is appreciated!

  • if someone hasnt already told u then wat u do is as follows. first u hav to change the pic resolution (chances are u r only using about "S" which doesnt use the full cam. to change the res u just flick open the little arrow at the bottom of the screen and choose which ever option best suits u. hope that helps, and as for the pic transfer, all i did was install the latest windows media player and i can view and transfer my pics when connected through that. wish u luck ;-)

  • idk about two generations but i do know that there are at least two different versions. cdma and gsm. dont ask me the difference between the two bc im still looking into that myself. i also think that sprint's and verizon's htc touch have different versions aside from the color difference (wish i had verizon lol. their white htc touch is hot.) also one is a smarthphone version and the other is a ppc. i believe the difference between those two is the ppc has microsoft office and the smartphone doesn't. if im wrong about any of this please feel free to correct me. im new to all of this.

  • htc touch is a great phone. however to those who are thinking about buying one keep in mind a couple drawbacks that even some simple less costly phones have that this one doesn't. 1) no built in gps reciever. you have to buy an external one and the cheapest ive seen is about $70. even the razor has a built in gps reciever and i was very unpleased to learn this after i purchased it. 2) no 3g. even the iphone has 3g. 3) not a quadband phone making this phone unable to be used as an international phone. unless you just want a high tech phone for show, this is geared to have all the mobile tools for business people. however, it lacks those key 3 things that i mentioned that keep it from being an excellent phone instead of just a great phone. i would recommend investing in another ppc. even if its just another htc (bc i do love htc's products, very innovative) however this particular model does not have everything if thats what you are looking for. if you want everything, get a ppc with a 3megapixel camera, 3g network, quadband, windows mobile professional 6.1, VGA screen, expandable memory no less than 4gb, long battery life, etc. good luck. theyre not cheap. lol.

  • Santhosh, I dont have a HTC touch. However I have an ASUS P526 that runs on Windows Mobile 6. Here is what I did to connect my phone to my laptop. 1. Make sure you have a GPRS connection and you are able to surf the internet through your phone. 2. Click the Windows button and select programs. 3. You will find "Internet sharing" 4. Select USB and the internet connection in the next window and try connecting your phone to the internet by USB cable. (I still have trouble connecting my laptop to the internet via bluetooth) Hope this info was helpful

  • Yeah.. ur right... It uses the phone memory only and it gets saved in the My Documents folder. For this u have to keep ur phone memory clean or install a Bluetooth File Saving software (ex MOBLUE) which will enable u to direct the incoming file to the location of ur choice.

  • yes this phone as hand writing recognition// as the touch sensitivity is as good as iPhone u have to press a little while u write something in ur handwriting/ make sure u write it big, else the alphabets will not come properly

  • Hey Sushil..just a quick update for you.. u can try the service centre at Okhla (this is only authorized service centre for HTC).... my frined's Touch crashed... they changed the mother board, OS s/w was updated and to my surprise also changed the scratched screen and no cost was charged... please check from HTC website the address for this service centre.

  • Though phone is very good, after sales support is pathetic, Service center are not avaiable and if availabe there are no spare parts not available. In Noida authorized service center by the name of GNH TELECOM is as good as bunch of liars, owner Shobit Agarwal is also the leader of these liars, I am sharing this experiance which I have gone through with HTC phones, such expensive handsets and no service, recomended not to buy.

  • This is one week I have the HTC Touch. Really great ! Very good features. The combination PDA+mobile is really good, and it is really elegant. You are always informed of everything with the Touch. You cannot miss an sms, mail, task or appointment. Wifi works smoothly. I configured the Touch not to connect automatically by GPRS but just by Wifi to download mails and weather information. Some say it is a bit slow. It's true but not a big deal. The point is that people always want more and are too demanding and never satisfied...but from an objective point of you, the Touch is really incredible. I just have one question for those who are familiar with it. I configured my Gmail account but each day I check my emails, it automatically deletes all the previous mails (from the previous day) and just download the mails from the current day. Any solution to fix that ? How can I keep the mails already downloaded ? In which option can I find this ? Thanks in advance.

  • I had HTC Touch for over a year now, and I gotta its great value for money. It has bit slower performance due to slower CPU and lack of speed for internet due to using GPRS but it's great phone.

  • This phone/pda is rather cheap compare to others so there's really nothing to commend about. I've had this phone for a month now. Honestly speaking, it's quite slow and looks dead. But the fact that in Malaysia we get it free from our network so I cannot really complaint. It's better than not having one at all. It works ok except that it's rather slow and you must be patient and the battery drains quite fast. When I first got it, I still need to charge it everyday which is not normal for a new battery which is suppose to last for at least 2 days. I did not use the bluetooth or wifi, just picking up and making calls like I normally used to. If I had to pay for it, I wouldn't recommend it. Would hunt for better models.

  • I did a lot of research before I decided on this phone. I was looking for a handset with a good balance of all futures. This one did it for me. I have had it for a week now and I haven't had any problems thus far except that I cannot send text messages. That I do know however is a problem with my service provider Vodacom South Africa which employs a bunch of incompetent service representatives which is typical of South Africa. I would not recommend this phone for the average user. It was designed having the typical technically orientated user in mind which suits me perfectly. The unit's operating system is a little sluggish at times and it does not have GPS or 3G. To reiterate, its not a cellphone, it's not an Ipod, it's not a PC, it's not a gaming device, it's not an email client, it's not an Internet browser, it's not a digital camera. It is indeed a good balanced device that includes all these futures. Looking at all the mentioned pro's and cons, the pro's definitely weighs more than the cons and I can therefore recommend this device.

  • The headphone socket is shared as the power supply socket (mini-USB). The phone comes with appropriate headphones and the quality is fine.

  • I hv been using O2 XDA 11 for 3 years, still working well, could not find any faults in it except sometimes it hang which is very normal for a PDA. One thing lacking though is the fact that it does not have wireless Lan so after considering and calculating I have decided to get the HTC Touch, mainly b'cos it's small and after all most PDA delivers the same. But how wrong was I! It is worse than my 3 yr old 02! It's so slow that you feel you r in the slow motion world and the battery finish off very fast. I don know why they call it touch when you need to touch many times before the application appears. I don think I would recommemd this to anyone.

  • misaw, go to the phones programs file and cut the cab file from when you saved it( interna memory) and save and run the file in the memory card(SD card) and it should work.

  • The HTC Touch is a great phone and i find that it is easy to use and i have upgraded mine and it now has more features that i have been able to download. More games and more feature for the TouchFlo, Windows media player skins, wireless remote, themes, and lots more.

  • I've had this phone for a couple of months and i must say it's my best buy of phones so far. if you love playing around with these lil devices, this will give you an adventure, plus there are alot of free programs available for it.   • I have had the Touch sprint phone for the last three months. The phone goes to sleep mode & never wakes up to ten times a day. During this time could not receive calls nor does it responds to power on/of button. The only thing that I could do is reset it by removing the battery or by pushing the reset button. In the mean while I am missing calls. I have someone to call me while it was sleep my friend said it rang five times & finally went voice mail where the phone on hand is still sleep. By the way this the second touch phone doing it. Sprint customer service even change the battery incase it is the battery. Am I the only one having this problem? Any idea?

  • Bought the HTC Touch in late April in Bangladesh. Paid around USD 450. Loved the phone. Everything worked fine. Very useful. Then after about 3 weeks the display went bad. All the colors were messed up. For example, in the Bubble Breaker game couldn't tell the difference between Red and Pink balls. The text background became yellowish etc. Took it to the local dealer (Global Brand Pvt) and they supposedly changed the screen. It was fine for about 2 weeks, now since last week it has gone bad again. Had to go in and leave my phone with them once again. They said they will change the "Board" this time and that should take care of it. Keeping the fingers crossed here. Is this just my luck or HTC??? Not the type of experience i was hoping for as a HTC owner.

  • The photo quality is not exquisite...but its good enough..! Battery doesn't last too long...about 3 hours of talk-time drops it from 100%-5%...but other than that, features are great..! Touch flo looks good and the phone has a sleek feel to it...201 MHz and 128MB RAM may sound less but the interface is not at all sluggish.....Have no problems using it...but still no FM and no GPS could be a problem for you. Overall, I find it totally worth it.

  • I have had this phone for about 3months now and im happy with it, i used to only have SE phones so i wanted to see what this touch screen nonsence was about!!! Now for all you guys saying that the phone is weak, let me tell you that i dropped this phone from the 3rd elevation on scaffholding and only got the tiniest dent on the corner and still works fine... also since flashing it with a modded os it now uses less memory, works faster in general and is now windows mobile 6.1 .   • The touch freezes like a deer in headlights. Ask the dealers that sell smart phones and they'll steer you to a blackberry because they may not be flashy but they're reliable.

  • I had my HTC Touch for two mths now. Fortunately have'nt encounter problem yet. I've changed to HTC from Nokia (E65)& SE (W890i)& Samsung (?) coz wanna experience the all touch system w/ OS of Windows including TouchFlo and so far did not disappointed me. However, if ur used to Nokia or SE's function ie profiles,sepcial alarms..then HTC not for you. feel free to ask me about HTC.

  • @ SHUMAN: this happened to me too. you have to call ur SIM provider and get ur PUK code (a code that locks ur SIM). if you enter ur pin wrong 3 times on ur htc the phone will stop and ask for ur personal PUK to prevent theft. you have 10 chances to enter ur 8 digit PUK code, after that ur SIM will be deactivated...and ull need a new one and the phone will be locked forever...

  • Touch is great...using it for 2 mths now and still discovering new function and surprises. The down side to it is the battery life, for me it last only for 15hrs.   • I love this phone. It looks great and feels great. Meaning it feels rugged and well built. I have had it 1 month and 2x so far the email and SMS text just stop working. You cant send or recieve SMS or emails and you cant lauch the email/SMS app. The only fix I have found has been to restore to factory defaults. Anyone else have this problem? If so and you have a fix please email me. I dont want to return this phone. I like it too much.

  • I've got it myself. It's a realy cool phone. But the bluetooth sucks. You can't find every bluetooth device. If you send a file, it interrupts at a certain point. So that's the only thing I don't like about the HTC Touch, a great cool looking mobile phone. Grtz

  • As regarding the HTC Touch , to the person who doesn't know how to use touch flow. You see that thing in the box that came with the phone its got lots of pages, its called a manual, and it tells you how to use touch flow . I suggest reading it!!!!!

  • difficult in operating and hand grip, you can not use finger for opening menus, touch flow is fine for few features. phone grip is not so good. speaker is dull. better to use sonyericsson p910 without keypad compare to this. my marks for this pda phone is 5/10.
