I have had mine almost 4 years and have never had a problem. I have thought about upgrading to the Blaze but I can't really justify the expense. The only thing I would do it for would be a camera upgrade. In my family we have the ZTE ZMAX pro, ZTE Blaze and my ZTE Z max. Mine has better sound than the other two. Granted if you are a gamer, none of these phones are for you.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. The screen locks constantly. When this happens, if you're talking on the phone, you can't see your incoming calls. You have to hang up from the call you're on to see who's calling. The whole design of contact calls and texts is inefficient. After 6 months, my texts started to not send, or send in double. They have designed this phone to work a few months. You get what you pay for. The malfunctions of this phone are truly exasperating. My advice is BUYERS BEWARE.

my ZTE freezes about once every thirty minutes of continuous use. hard time out and finicky power button manipulation brings it all back after about 20 seconds or more. I have literally disabled and cleared everything and it still does it- not only that but it will remove any widgets and return the wallpaper to default. hate this phone...

Functionality of the operation is fine. Mechanically or physical aspects very poor. 1. Plugging connector gets worn out easily by everyday charging so the that's my main issue. I had insurance on my first phone and got two phones with this problem. 2. Touch screen is not very good either. If you have some moisture on your fingers, in winter months on the outside where condensation occurs or the screen is a bit damp would have a hard time on the touch scree. And 3. Not sure if its me but I store a fair amount of pictures/graphics, the phone would suddenly slow to a crawl in reviewing graphics and even uploading the Web. The best thing is the price, but what good is that if you can't enjoy it with the major issues.

It is really suck, absolutely bull++it. The worst phone i ve ever bought or seen. Tomorrow i m returning it. Even if the seller doesnt take it will just drop it The sensitivity of the touchscreen is very poor. I ve tried all suggestions; changed the pointer speed, downloaded software etc, yet nothing worked at all. It is my fault to buy no brand. It is useless worthless

hopefully its been fixed since you posted this, but check your APN settings!! settings>Mobile netwoks> Access point names>make sure it says whoever your provider is. If not google the providers APN settings. Hope this helps!

no..the phone is not bad. People need to learn how to take care of their phones and not abuse the storage space. Clear cache, give the RAM some breathing room, update your phone when you can, and close out of apps. Have dropped the phone multiple times, covered it in water, etc. Its almost 3 years old. It works great! The software is def old now, and because of this google play updates can get a little crazy, but again, know your phone! 8/10 from me

You have to pay for call blocking with this phone and\or Metro\T-mobile service. I previously had AT&T using Galaxy 5..was happy then. I NEVER get 4G speed!!!!!! Im so disappointed with T-mobile service.

Zte max goes offline at least once a day. Have to reboot to get back online. Annoying frequently call list are very large and easily touched making accidental calls. Phone turns off spontaneously. Love the camera and big screen. But won't buy another max.

I bought a ZTE Zmax from a friend. As long as I'm connected to Wi-Fi it works really good. I love the phone. I love the battery life. But, my data won't work on this phone. It's a metro pcs and I have t mobile. Metro unlocked it for me. The last phone I had was also a ZTE from metro and my data worked just fine. I can't figure it out. Other than that I love the phone.

Wow I thought I was the only one having a problem with this zte max duo! Got it for Christmas. The goggle search does not work. Sent it back because they said the hard ware was defective got another one and Google search still don't work and now can't get a refund, and Sony help me at all. If you can tell me how to fix it I would give it a five star but right now I say DO NOT BUY. Saving money now to buy another phone.....

i had my first zte zmax pro for three days and then it died and then it wouldn't turn on for a whole day and it wouldn't charge it started to charge and then I got it to turn on and it wouldn't charge normally and then I had to get a new one and I have only had it for two days I went to charge it before I had to work and then it turned off on the charger and now it wont turn on this is the worst phone I have ever had I would not recommend this phone for anyone. I can't get a phone call, because a menu appears, blocking my "option" to receive the call or turn on the speakerphone? By the time I clear the menu bullshit, my caller is gone. Mine just started to have that issue, day 2. Really disappointed because I had the original zmax, literally since the day they arrived at metro pcs. They unboxed their shipment to sell me one. It finally stopped taking a charge, and removing the integrated battery to change the charge port was too much hassle, so I caved and upgraded to the pro. Now I am already ordering a replacement 3 days into owning it. It sucks.

In most areas the zte doesn't get 4G connection, how do I know? One example, Real racing 3 game in order to play multiplayer the game needs to be connected to 4G and this phone fails to connect I contacted customer service they did something and still didn't connect so I tried a 4G test app and all I got is a message saying 4G not available, sucks and returning this garbage later .

Only had this phone for a little over 2 weeks and every day I constantly have to turn it off and on just to get a network connection for only like 5 mins then it stops working. Ive had the zmax pro since October... No problem at all... My screen turns off while I'm talking, no dropped calls, doesn't shut off by itself, I have 4glte service all the time. I've had the Samsung galaxy s4, s5,lg g stylo, lg stylo 2plus, HTC desire 626, & a bunch of phones in between. I'm very happy with my phone.. maybe it's not the phone but the person using it, or its where you live the service might not be good.. I'm using it now, and have MetroPCS. The only issue I've had with the phone is when I got the new update I was having issues downloading it to my phone. I had to do a factory reset & had no problem getting the new update after that.

I have the same problems I think that the battery thing is to make sure it overheats though. I have a hard time getting internet connection too. I have unlimited LTE data but my videos and movies constantly stop and when they are on they blur. Other ppl I know who have Metro don't have this problem with their phones

I've had the ZTE ZMAX PRO for a few months and have loved it. I started having trouble with charging 3 weeks ago. It says on the battery symbol on the right side that it's at say 70% but the battery symbol that is on the left days 100% which is it? I still liked the phone until about a week ago. That's when I stopped getting 4G or any G fit that matter and I'm lucky to have more than 1 bar for signal. It's a clear sky so I can't blame the weather. What's going on ? I thought I needed to update the system so I tried and it says I'm up to date. So, now what can I do ?

I hate this phone, it keeps putting itself on vibrate even without pressing any buttons. It won't read any of the SD cards I put in it. It constantly disconnects from the network, which makes paying for unlimited data a waste of money. I will never buy another ZTE phone.

I bought one of these phones back in March of 2015, Florida. Loved the size - had a holster to carry it on my hip...ppl pointed and said IS THAT A TABLET? During the summer I ended up having trouble with it so I sent it back to ZTE...AND THAT wasn't easy by the way - they kept saying RETURN TO STORE. Dude, I bought this at WALMART over 3 months ago. They have a 14 day return period. They don't know JACK about "repairing" and they will say the same thing I know RETURN IT TO THE MANUFACTURER. If I could reach through a phone, I'd be on parole for assault. OKAY, I sent it back. Waited. Waited. Wai...They sent it back "repaired"... In less than a month the things had MORE PROBLEMS than before! I sent the "repaired" one back and said IF YOU "repair" THIS AND SEND IT BACK, IM GOING TO SEND IT BACK TO YOU WITH 3 BRICKS JUST TO ADD TO YOUR SHIPPING COST! What they sent me, "worked" for a while but I was so burned on ZTE that I sent with another phone soon after. Now they have AXON 7 and Im tempted but twice shy.

Because ALL the ZTE phones are terrible. I have the Pro and it has all the aforementioned issues PLUS it won't read a single card I put in it. I would recommend a $20 Straight. Talk LG before I'd recommend any ZTE phone. This company has a terrible reputation all the way 'round.

Here's why its popular. Its like a drug dealer, "first time free", the phone will work pretty good. Once you have it one year Metro sends you a text "Time for an upgrade." Within 2 weeks of that text phone melts down. Cookies maybe, something. So u go to store spend more money on upgrade cause they got ya hooked on the phone. Big screen etc. You front camera won't work after the 14 month.

Im not sure why I'm seeing a lot of reviews of the ZTE Zmax Pro here. This is the area for the ZTE Zmax (Z970). I've had mine now for almost a year with very few problems, none of which were serious and all fixable. This is a great phone for the price I paid, $100. Of course this phone became very popular because of its quality and features so now it's selling for $140 to $180. If it such a piece of junk as some people are saying on here, please explain why this phone has become so popular. Every complaint I've read so far can and does happen even with the more expensive phones.

Actually your phone wasn't charging due to a bad cable. This is a common problem with all cellphones. If your phone fails to charge change out the cable first!

I've the z970,recently had charging issues. It appeared to be charging but the battery monitor seemed otherwise. All night plugged in but virtually zilch charge. Being a sudden problem, I tried a different cable. It recharged fully in an hour and works fine now. Likely a single wire that monitors charge rate was bad.

Hi I just got this ZTE zmax pro about a week ago after 2 days I hated it my LG L9 worked better. It would continue to buffer out wouldn't play YouTube out had problems connecting to the internet etc.i called metro pcs to find out that the VPN settings were not set correctly to my network after the VPN settings were adjusted correctly the phone works beutiful so try calling your carrier and get the correct VPNs hopefully this helps

I've complained over several sites. I will tell my story until I'm blue in the face. ZTE phones are horrible!!! I've had mines for a month and since day 1 it's given me nothing but problems. It shuts down at least 6 times a day, it cuts me off line with a sign that says "you are offline" I have to put it in airplane mode for 5 mins then take it off airplane mode to get the internet to work again, I could be in the middle of something and it will just shut down, the bars keep dropping from 5 bars down to 2 making the internet move slow. I took it back to the store the guy told me "We make phones, not fix them." So I'm stuck with it. They should take these phones off the market now!!!!

Anyone have extremely low volume even when the phone is as high on volume as it will go. It's so low in my opinion. At the halfway volume setting it's already practically undetectable! Otherwise I like the phone a lot. It's frustrating BC I specifically asked for a loud phone at MetroPCS.

I am waiting for my 2nd replacement in less than a month. Phones goes directly to voicemail which shows up in Messaging but it won't send messages in the App. Has anyone had this issue. I've had my phone since February of 2015 and its now August of 2016 and I never had that problem. When I got my phone they suggested I buy some kind of different card because I told them I take lots of pics and do a lot of stuff on my phone and didn't want to run out of memory. So maybe that might help.

Phone will not go into speaker phone mode when in a call. Media plays fine over speakerphone and it has great sound but the issue of no speaker when in a call is deal-breaker.

There have been a lot of reports of the Zmax failing to charge. If it is less than 12 months old, you can contact ZTE and they will repair your phone or replace it with a refurb phone. One thing that solves many phone problems is to do a "factory reset" that wipes out all of the software on your phone and replaces it with the original software. You should copy your photos to a computer before doing the reset. You can Google for the instructions on doing the reset. Best Buy has the new Zmax 2, which is an AT&T GoPhone, and sells it for $60, $80, or $100 depending on the day of the week. You can slip in the Sim card from any AT&T phone, such as GoPhone, AT&T, Cricket Wireless, TracPhone, or Straight Talk, and the phone will work fine. It will work with T-Mobile and MetroPcs if you request the unlocking code from AT&T BEFORE you activate the phone.

I'm about to give up on this phone. I love its size, but the issues having with it makes me miss my old phone. 1st off I can't send videos with it. 2ndly when I try to screen shot something, it deny's it saying " picture cannot be save because the memory may be in use". It spot saves the pictures I take, so a lot of the pics actually have a picture slot in the gallery but the slot is completely blank. I've lost pics from two vacations and various random pics! Also, if I u upload music to it it will only hold the music until I turn the phone off or the battery dies and then upon powering up all my music is just gone. Did this twice, I have a 60GB memory card in it and lost at least 30GB's of good music! Pisses me off even remembering it. I really wish they would make a free downloadable bug fixer for this phone. I don't know how much longer I'm gonna deal with this!

Boost Mobile dragging their feet , in filing the same. I bought my phone through a Boost mobile store, my juvenile son saw it and liked it so much he gave his allowances to get one, Wow, he was excited about the BIG SCREEN, that was what kids want to keep up with that fad. Both of our phones failed us. They even sent me the Maxx 2, a inch smaller than the one i purshaced what a RIP off, trying to make up for me not having a phone for so long. It was exciting again, My son wanted the (?UP GRADE ?) My upgrade stared to BUZZ twice every 5 seconds, Now i ME have to send it back about 3/4 times. I really like this phone. It has a large screen, long battery life, and I found it is very reliable. It has good customer support as well. I paid only about $129 for the phone. My friends all have iPhones or Samsung Galaxy phones and are happy... but they paid over 4 TIMES what I paid. For the price, I think the choice is very clear. I highly recommend this phone.

I have had this phone for almost 2 years. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The battery life is great, picture resolution is great, and memory is great. I only need to charge my phone once every 2 weeks. I stream a lot of YouTube, Netflix, and Time Warner Cable daily. All of a sudden I cannot email my 2 new photos to my AOL account. I have done so many times before without a problem. I went to my MTRO PCS dealer/store and someone new there was trying to sell me a newer phone, which I do not want. He said that over time the photo transmission gets very slow. For the price I paid of $103 at WalMart, I have to say that this phone does pretty much everything that I want. It even provides a 2.4/5GHz hotspot when I need it. The only complaint I have with the phone is it's tendency for the screen to freeze or the WiFi to drop out. Both which can be fixed with a restart. Not bad for a $100 phone.

I've had my ZTE zmax on Metro PCS just over a year now. Works great, love the big screen, plays Netflix just fine, can download movies from my mac mini movie library just fine, used as a GPS a few times without freezing up. Sometimes I have to turn on or off the WiFi when I'm inside or outside for maps and internet to be working properly. I can't speak for you, but I made the right choice. This phone can keep up with the iPhone 6.

Not as good coverage in western New York as with Verizon, but I'm prepaid and Verizon's prepaid phones are the most basic. You can't bring an unlocked phone to Verizon, with the exception of the iphone6, 6s.

My gf and I both have this phone. I've read through these comments and see all of these problems ppl are stating to have, so far we haven't had a single issue. Then again I've rooted both of our phones in order to take advantage of this phones full potential. This phone by far has been the easiest phone to root too! There's no need to even use a PC to get the job done. Which I love, the majority of phones won't allow you to root w/o using a PC! Again it was amazingly simple to root. I temp rooted using kingroot.net then downloaded the twrp to flash supersu and bam you have a permanent rooted phone! Quick and simple! I've yet to have not one single issue and my phone is blazing fast. I've clocked both the CPU and GPU on the max settings! This is one of the greatest phones you can get. Especially with the deal metro has $99 plus real unlimited 4glte and 7gb hotspot teather you can't beat that. I recommend rooting this device, just do a simple Google search, there's even a great tutorial on YouTube showing you how. Once you root you can then flash any custom ROM you choose. I'm already running lollipop 5.1 and its amazing! Never had a phone that was so user friendly and could be rooted w/o using a PC! This phone is the best bang for your money by far! Once rooted its just as good as any top tier phone such as the Galaxy and Nexus and for a fraction of the price! Now of course the only downside I have is the pesky notifications to update the system software. I can't seem to get rid of that? I know better than to update and risk loosing my root or worse ruin NY phone! The system update itself is garbage you can do better things to your phone from using any custom ROM. And I doubt they'd be updating to lollipop os at all? If you've already updated check your build number if it b10 or higher you can no longer root ur device as of yet. You have to have a Zmax with a build number of B06 or under. Then you're in business! The things you can do to your rooted Zmax are endless! It's fairly simple if you can follow simple directions its easy to do and so worth it! I highly recommend it again make sure your build number is B06 and under. Pretty sure this new update prevents you from rooting this phone. Which is a shame. Don't know why these phone manufacturers don't want ppl to use these phones at their full potential? They govern the speed of the processors. So if you can try to root and unleash the beast!! I'm happy with this phone, have yet to have any issues. Plus since I'm rooted I have the stock os backed up in case anything goes haywire? But that won't happen. Enjoy and if you have no prior knowledge on rooting a device, nor did I. And I got the job done, because its that simple. Goodluck to anyone willing to attempt root again don't update make sure ur build number is b06 and you're in business. And don't worry bout bricking your phone. The process is fool proof and so worth it.

Metro pc's sells the zmax with a one year manufacturer warranty. I had an issue with mine and even though it was insured I refused to p ah the deductible as it was a manufacturer defect. They gave me drama in the beginning but they will admit to you that even with no insurance you have a 1 year manufacturer warranty. And three policy is that if they do not have a warranty phone in stock and need to order one you keep yours till it arrives at their store. About 3-5 business days

I've purchased a zte zmax phone and it has been replaced already within 3 months of the original purchase. Both phones are having the same problem I am not able to hear the phone when it rings unless it is hooked up to my blue tooth. I got this phone in February. Now the batery life sucks. I charged it before i went to bed, (note i have never charged this phone overnight.) and the battery was at 100%. When i woke up in the morning, the battery was at 2%. I hadnt left any apps running, &no one had been using it. I have had my zmax about three months and am extremely satisfied. Long battery life is excellent and the deal breaker for me and the large display. I listen to music alot so I needed good battery life. I like big screens too. No complaints at all from me as it does what I need it to do..and its CHEAP. You have to go into Settings, and then, into a few other places. It is sort of hidden in one of those headings you wouldn't expect. I think it might be in the Sound heading. I wear heading aids so I don't use a Bluetooth. But I had a rental car the last 4 days that had a video display for satellite radio, backup camera and Bluetooth connected cellphone. I received and made phone calls in the car for four days with no problem connected thru the Bluetooth feature. I've never used such a car system before with voice commands where I just said the name of anyone on my contacts list and the car did the rest.I was impressed. The phone worked flawlessly every time. I've had my Zmax for four weeks now. I bought and installed a new SanDisk 16g Micro SD the same day. The only issue I've had with mine is that it occasionally freezes up when I'm on the internet. The keyboard stops working and you can't exit to your desktop. But just pressing the side button and turning off the screen for a few seconds and then turning it right back on again always unfreezes it and you can then continue on where you left off. This happens sporadically. It's gone over a week without freezing now. I restart it every day, even if I haven't had any problems. I also use the malware program that came with it. For $99, I'd say it's been great so far.

I love this phone its big screen and battery life is very useful the only thing is that when I put in my sandisk 32 GB SD card the phone started to over heat apps started to freeze up even when I was on a phone call it froze up so I had to take out my SD card after that it acted like nothing happened so I went to pick up a PNY 16 GB SD and so far haven't had any issues with the phone lately.

I read a blog where someone said they were having the same problem . They said that the solution was to remove their SD card because the SD card has become corrupted. So I tried it and that seems to have done the trick. I didn't just remove but I replaced my micro sd card. I made a one minute video . 5 hours later its still there and playing fine so changing the SD card seems to have done the trick for me .

Mine I have it for 2 weeks I was recording a program and after 23 something minutes the video stop and went into a black screen and after that was glitching. I've had this phone for about 3 months now and it's awesome!! There is no Root yet though, but even without it, it's still a great device almost identical to the ZTE Grand X Max+ a little bit smaller. I mainly wanted Root so I could unlock the wifi hotspot but you can use direct tether without Root. (just turn on airplane mode first then activate tether then turn off airplane mode & use a client changer on your browser of choice) I hear that there some people are experiencing problems. Please check to make sure it is not your SD card. I recently had some issues with apps suddenly stopping and such but the root cause was that my sdcard was corrupted even though it seem to be reading fine. I removed it and the phone had no problems after that.

Amazing piece of hardware for south of $100. Great size screen, good memory and storage, and the processor does just about everything. You could spend $500 more and get a better phone, but not by much. It also had the near stock version of Android, after using Samsung's for so long, I'm so glad to get rid of that system draining leach. Eating up my system resources just to run a skin of Android is crap. Most don't realize that much of your better specs are allocated to just running fancy OS that is completely pointless.

Good post, I have to agree with you. I bought a couple from T-Mobile a few months back and have had no real problems with the either of the devices. I think for the price, a consumer can be assured that to be/she got their money worth. Has just about every toy a high end devise has for $600.00-$700.00. I also have a Lg-G3 so I do know the difference.

Great phone, larger screen and lte for $227. The note waas $700. I've had the zmax for 3 weeks and it is a solid phone, just get a good shock proof case and tactical screenprotector and you're set.

I HATE THIS PHONE!!! I got it because of the price and size of screen. Had to get a GSM phone since my Galaxy S3 was CDMA. Phone was nice until I started getting calls. If I am on bluetooth and a call comes in, the phone shuts off bluetooth connectivity. I have then put phone on headset or speaker phone and then switch back to bluetooth. Sooooo annoying as I will not know I am talking to myself until I don't get a response from person I am talking to. There appears to be no fix for this and this is apparently a common problem.

I will say for the price you really cant beat this phone. The camera is good and the screen is descent for a 720p. I got mine from T-Mobile and the HD voice is superb. The battery is amazing last two days without a problem. it is snappy and multitasking is awesome. I do video conferencing and and calls and email all at the same time it never skips a beat. I give this phone a 5 out of 5 stars and have to say with the almost pure vanilla experience it is a real pleasure. I recommend this phone to everyone.

Do not buy the ZTE z max phone from metro pc's. They are selling their customers phones that do not work. The camera are not working. The customers service sucks. They gave us the run around for days about replacing our phone. I did not even have the phone five. They would not give me a refund because they had no one that knew how to do it they claim. I've had my ZTE Zmax for a few hours and I am impressed. Its lightning fast, beautifully designed. When I went to Walmart to get it (I know, I know. Walmart is the devil. lol). After the nice lady set it up, she made sure that it worked completely. She said sometimes there are issues and glitches that require them to reboot the entire system (factory reset). I had to go to 3 stores to find one. The first 2 were completely sold out, so it seems to be really popular. Found a protective case, carry case with belt clip and screen protector for about $20.00 total. Love the Internal Memory. Its loud and clear on calls. Volume is loud, the screen brightness is nice and bright (you have to know how to adjust it). Camera is clear and the detail is amazing. Ok. I will say that the tool to open the slots for the SD Card and the Sim Card was annoying. You have to play with it, especially if your not used to that kind of thing. Its not a major thing, but when your used to just sliding or pushing the SD Card in, no tool required. Its a whole new and frustrating experience. Other then that? Its been amazing. It doesn't take anything away from the phone at all. Its $179.99 at Walmart. Plus a 2 yr protection warranty, it puts it at about $206.00 total. Plus the Activation kit. I chose Walmart Family Mobile ($25.00) for activation kit. Unlimited Talk, Tex, Data (500MB). For $29.88 a month. Plus taxes it might be $35.00 total. They have other plans that have higher Data. Unlimited Talk, Tex, Data (2.5GB) for $39.88. I don't need the 2.5 GB data. I surf the web mostly at home on my laptop. As for the functions. Read the booklet, play with it and learn about it. The booklet covers a lot. I'm pretty decent tech wise, so I had 99% of it figured out immediately. The only issue that I was unsure about, was the vibrate on call connect. However, what another user wrote. It helped out a lot. Also, read the reviews. It will help you learn about your phone, because those that are tech savvy share what they know. Oh. As for WiFi Calling. For those that don't have it and you get that pop up. Just turn it off, phone functions fine without it on. Will update as time goes on. Hope this review helps others.

I've had the zte max for almost 2 months and when I record a video on the phone or on Snapchat I can't hear any sound. And yes the volume is all the way up. Also on Snapchat when I try to take a picture with the back flash it never even takes the picture, and the flash just stays on untill I close out the app.

Upgrade from your phone Mymetro app. No money up front. 40 works for me and not for him always on YouTube. Try 50.. unlimited 4g data. The phone is ok. However I am a IT student and the bad thing about the phone is that you CAN NOT move the app to your SD card. The move app bottom is not even shown on the app setting window. Even if you have old files on your SD card IT will not show as a such. I have tried moving it with the file manager app but if you go back and look at the SD card storage bar IT show the same amount of memory like it is a blank SD card.

it's been a week since i've had my zte max/metropcs. i have to tell you...this phone rocks! it's a maverick! sound;sharpness;quick and fast;no lag whatsoever;youtube and movies look outstanding;5.7 screen that's awesome;bulky but firm and strong! and all i payed was $99 for the phone, and $56 for the first month and handset insurance. i added apus launcher and it moves effortlessly. there is but one minor drawback.it does not support flash. besides that, no need to spend $600 bucks for a big phone. this one will do....

I have had this phone for a little over a month. Me and my wife bought both of ours together and have had the same experiences as follows: It does have a huge screen and excellent battery life as well as the largest internal storage ive found for cheap phones, but there are several problems which family mobile (a service of T-Mobile) confirms. First is the light sensor sucks. It blinks constantly making it nearly impossible to do anything on the phone while talking, though it claims to have those abilitites. The abilities are there, but because the light sensor gets confused, it hardly works. Second is the volume setting eventually stop working. I have my phone on vibrate usually. When i hit the volume up, it does not channge the settings, making phone calls, text messages, and alarms impossible to hear when you need them. Third is if youre not on the straight T-Mobile network, you recieve an error saying "invalid SIM cars error" when connected to wifi. This just means wifi calling is not enabled due to not being o T-Mobile, but has no effect on the phones operation. Last, the internet connections run through diffferent servers forcing me to call customer service over and kver getting new access points. Overall, i give it 2.5 stars. Its cheap, huge, and amazing, except in the performance and reliability department. It falls very short of being reliable and actually funtioning accurately.

Pros: Huge screen, exceptional battery life that will last more than all day with moderate to high use (within reason), lots of memory that is expandable, the phone runs smooth - so smooth that I can play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (which is a rather large app from the playstore) without any lag or problems, browsers run seamlessly Cons: Display is not the greatest but isn't bad, phone is too big for my right thumb to reach the top left of the screen and will often require both hands, camera quality is just ok BOTTOM LINE: For being so gentle on your wallet, the ZMAX is surprisingly decent in nearly all categories. Although it will take time for you to get used to such a large display, don't let that hold you back from going with the ZMAX. it's not always convenient, having to use two hands, but everything else more than makes up for it. If you're not into getting an 800 dollar top of the line phone, this is the next closest thing at an affordable price. Especially if you need something that lasts all day, and then some.

I got mine yesterday and I'm really shocked at how well it performs and how good the screen looks. I am "downgrading" from a Note 4 because I just couldn't justify paying the $34.50 a month for the note for 2 years. This phone is a little big, but it performs amazingly. I really think there is less lag than the Note 4. I'm really impressed with what ZTE was able to pull off.

I got this phone a couple days before X- ma's and while I love everything about the Zmax the phone crashes about once a day and goes to black screen with the light flashing from green to red. I never knew this phone even existed, until my Nexus 5 broke. I searched craigslist for a "T-Mobile" phone, and someone was selling 1 week old ZTE Zmax for $180 with a case that T-mobile provided for him. I offered $150 and met the same day to purchase, yes for $150. Wow, what a bargain, big screen, just as fast as my Nexus 5 was. I can definitely tell the difference in the pixels, but It's not so bad, I got used to it. The same thing goes for the size, when the phone is in my hands (I have big hands), the phone didn't feel big at all. Until I put it back in my pocket I remember it's a phablet. Battery life is awesome. The speaker is so LOUD too, I love it. Overall, this phone is a bargain, only thing it needs to be perfect is root, a better camera and 1080p resolution, but they had to compromise somewhere for the price.

Might take over for my (lonely)tablet. Good; external SD. Bad; side slider ports get stuck...sim was almost impossible to release. Bent the metal release pin! So far, about 7.7/10. I'll find faults and benefits. Neeeeeed a case. This fcuker will flex and crack...too big with no protection.

Walmart is selling them for $179 as a "Walmart Family Mobile" phone. T-Mobile is selling it for $252 in store and online. Walmart Family Mobile is an MVNO that runs on T-Mobile's network. It's the same darn phone. I bought the Walmart one, popped my T-Mobile sim in, and everything works perfectly. That's a savings of $73. Seventy three dollars!!! Does T-Mobile think we're stupid?!?

But if you purchase from Walmart its in 2 sections. 1 is the T-Mobile section where Walmart sells their T-Mobile phones 2 is where they have the no contract phones listed under Univision mobile the front writing is in Spanish but its the same phone.(T-Mobile Spanish deal I guess) 199.99 I got mine as the Univision one because option one was sold out. Wife and I each got one. Love them. Great value and features for money. Run time per charge for us is over 20 hours, sometimes 1.5 days. For a WiFi enabled LTE LG4 phone, with bluetooth, twin cameras, huge screen, huge battery and low price -- you cant go wrong. Yes, other (more expensive phones) have better features, but this phone (usually $190) is rich in value. We got both for way less than one Galaxy S4. Tech life on any phone is about 2 yrs so makes little sense to spend more than you need to get a job done.

This phone absolutely rocks. I am wondering where all the half azz reviews from experts come from. As far as performance goes it's better than my wildest expectations for a phone in this price range ( paid 4 200 plus tax at Best Buy, early Nov). The only major flaw is the non removable battery. Some useful little things, like one touch answer , are missing and the cam is slow to focus/adjust so action photos are not that good. But again, overall , this phone is amazing and definitely a keeper.

Got this phone a few days back from T-Mobil. Great phone, awesome experience with gaming, long lasting battery life and unlike some of the branded ones it doesn't heat up while using 4G LTE. Fits very well in your hand for gaming, reading books and watching videos. It has very few bloatwares and has a very similar feel of using a nexus series phone in terms of the stock android experience. Front cam resolution could have had a better resolution. Though this falls in the economic range, it packs a lot of muscle and features. All said it is a great phone and the price at which it can be bought is awesome.

this is exactly the same phone as the iconic phablet just renamed for Boost mobile I have been informed. $250 on Boost, retailers in the west are offering $100 off any phone for porting your number from another carrier. Although not if your net10 is using sprint towers already. But if sprint is good in your area, the new pricing plans with double the hi speed data is hard to beat as you could potentially get a GSIII for about 150 plus service card of 35,45, or 55.

Nice phone, long battery life, great screen. I love it except for the fact that for some reason this phone drops many calls and does not have data connection or phone service in areas that I had with my Samsung Galaxy III. I am very disapointed because I will have to sell the phone. I can't afford to have dropped calls and no service....especially knowing that I can have service with my old phone.

Only four days with my zmax. Has far surpassed my expectations. Battery life is amazing and although it's only 720p, the screen is sharp and bright. For under $300 it's a must buy.

Big screen + high enough but not too high resolution + Big battery = awesome battery life... Plays all the games & apps as I would on a more powerful phone...but difference is this phone lasts way longer...and when ur gaming...at the end of the day, u just want ur phone to last..can't beat this phone...and it has WiFi calling...it's over, no contest..best phone of the year..

Having used this phone for a week now, I can tell it's better than advertised. The screen is gorgeous without being overly bright and the battery is a monster. With semi-light use, I can go without charging for two full days. Nice and snappy with a real Nexus like Android experience.

The battery life in this is just unbelievable. The specs are good enough and I didn't experience any lag. It's snappy, the screen is huge and very bright, and the battery lasts for 2 days like they say. I was used to about 8-12 hours of battery life, so this is just amazing to me.

I don't asume, it's what the official specifications say. You think it will be better than what the manufacturer claimns? Hardly. and i have another phone with "huge" battery for its size, and guess what? It doesn't last. And yes, it lasts just as much (little) as they claim, when it comes to talk time.

Hmm talk time 14 hrs with this battery? Every time there is seemingly a phone with bigger battery turns out it also consumes more power and in the end the battery is still a joke. And only 32GB SD? For what reason?
