alcatel Pop 4 - User Reviews

  • Okay so there are a lot of bad reviews on this phone but I had this phone for three years and it didn't do me too badly yes it has a few storage issues and that's the only reason why this phone has had to be replaced unfortunately because I really liked this phone. Definitely the best phone so far

  • this is genuinely the worst phone i tried redeeming it with a custom rom 2 years ago but none were available the camera which was the main selling point of the device was bad very bad do not buy this phone the ui they've been shipping with it is the worst keep all the bloatware as it came in the box as it starts toi break when updated

  • Mate this phone works about as well as my arsehole does for electronic standard , the camera has the quality of an stick , I can take better pictures with my dog as the camera , a potato has more RAM , it would be more fun to cut my toes off with a rusty spoon and watch it slowly bleed and get tetanus and die

  • PS To add to the above review, we now have Xiaomi Mi A2 lite phones and the improvement is indescribable. We can now do so much and so easily with our new phones. It confirms that the problem wasn't us but the poor quality phones fom Alcatel. Goodbye Alcatel, goodbye Tesco Mobile!

  • Worst phone I've ever used. So slow and laggy, camera is shit.

  • The Alcatel pop 4 is one of the worst phones on the market. 1. The camera is terrible even for the price of the phone 2. Sometimes individual letters on the keyboard stop working and you have to keep spamming the keyboard for it to finally work. 3. 1GB RAM is not enough at all. 4. I have used multiple android phones before this but on none of them have I seen the message, setting does not work,. Only Alcatel can pull that off. 5. The phone autodownloads apps for you and the apps that are downloaded are also useless. 6. With the introduction of joy launcher my phone storage has decreased massively and sometimes even brings me a message saying that ,joy launcher has stopped responding. On no other android phone will the home screen stop responding. 7. 8GB storage is not enough for anyone I am a teenager and my dad bought me this phone a year ago, bit to all father's out there, when finding your child a phone, ask them what they want and if it is too expensive but in a cheaper filter on the searches and then show them the phone that you think is good. Also make sure that you check the specs. When my dad bought me this phone, he didn't check the specs. He only checked the reviews on Amazon ( apparently they were good). Personally if you want to save money on your cjilds phone. Get them a vivo, oppo, or either Samsung j or Samsung a series.

  • The worst phone I have ever had. I would say to anyone don't get one. Totally useless. I have an SD card but you cannot transfer anything to it - even in the vodafone shop the 'experts' could not. Therefore with this problem, the two apps I do have seem like a luxury item. My contract ends May 19 and like many other people reviewing this phone I WILL HIT IT WITH A HAMMER.

  • This phone is crap! I bought the Alcatel pop 4 in January 2018. I like many others i have experienced the phone running very very slow. Anything i use on the phone takes ages to pop up. The keyboard is slow to pop up and even answering a call is not achieved immediately as i swipe to answer it. Any pin number or swipe pattern reacts slow as well. The fact that it has a micro sd slot is ridiculous as you can't move any apps to it at all. I have found this phone to be a pain in the butt and all this without having facebook, instagram, fb messenger etc installed on it. I have read the positive reviews here for this phone and am surprised by them.

  • My wife & I have used and owned mobile phones for about 20 years, and nothing compares with the two Alcatel Pop 4 phones which we have owned for nearly two years, and have only just avoided being modified with a hammer (end of contract nearly in sight - hooray!). After the first few weeks the incessant updates started, changing the apps drastically from quite usable basic ones to almost unusable apps (Candy Gallery an the appalling Joy Launcher for instance). The keyboard is sometimes ok, sometimes unresponsive. The three off-screen buttons work some of the time. It's just an awful phone to try and use. The bloatware ensures that most of the 8GB storage is already used up, so we have had to choose just one or two apps to have on the phone - they are a bit like luxury items, but stringent housekeeping keeps the phone fairly usable. The SD card has now lost half of the photos as a result of trying to upload them for backup, so it's getting worse. Our contract provider (Tesco Mobile) has been exceptionally unhelpful during all this. We have never had any problems like this on our prevous Nokia, Samsung, Sony or LG phones. Avoid Alcatel like the plague!

  • I am typing this on my Pop4, and just using the keyboard to type this is making me want to throw the phone against a wall. I have read a few of the comments and have to agree with them. The keyboard alone slows my phone down, like, it just crashed and locked itself whilst I was typing this. I managed to push the device into holding five medium sized apps and cannot download any more due to the horrendously low storage. Sometimes when I am scrolling through a news article, the phone would do things that I don't want it to, like open messaging or come out of the article. The cameras on both sides of the device are the worst I have ever used, meaning I have had to put my photography on hold until I get a new, better phone. The preinstalled apps are very obnoxious, meaning that you have to restore them to factory just to update one app. I do not like Apple products, but I would rather have an iPhone than the vomit in the form of the Alcatel Pop4. The only good things I can say about it is that the speaker is okay, you can hear someone on the other end of a phone call clearly and the flashlight is decent

  • There is one type of person who will think that this phone is okay , the people that only use their phones to call and message people. This phone is a disappointment. The rear camera is okay for the phones price but the front is one of the worst cameras I've ever seen ( it even has a glitch that happens often that makes the colours a bit more brown, it makes me look like a potato XD ) 1 GB of ram won't be enough for anyone , the moment you exit from an app everything is lost and you have to load the app again , the CPU is bad as well. Sometimes the phone crashes at random times. ( Also expected lagging in pretty much any app out there ) If you have sweaty hands the screen is gonna start freaking out. 8GB of internal storage , why Alcatel ... Why are you doing this to me? ( Keep in mind that the storage you can actually use is about 1.1 GB ) The list of bad things about this phone is endless, but not everything is bad. The phone doesn't look that bad , it has an led light for the front camera which I didn't expect ( mainly cause it sucks almost in everything else ) and a few little things here and there that are okay for its price. That being said , I don't recommend this phone to anyone. Do your research ( ~ v 0 )

  • i have had this phone for over a year and it is the worst, slowest device on the market. It is so slow that i have gotten used to waiting 2-5 minutes for basic apps to load up. my advice, put in a little extra money into your budget, there is a big jump up in quality between these lower tier £100 ish phones and the £300 mid-rangers. You can even find top quality phone that competes with £400 plus ones. Do a lot of research into finding the best device for your budget. So pleased to be getting a new phone

  • When are you getting your next phone?

  • For everyone who has to suffer with using this piece of crap phone I wouldn't even give to my worst enemy, I have something to cheer you up. When I get my new phone, I shall stream a video of myself destroying the phone with a sword.

  • terrible phone, seems fine at first but gets so horrendously slow and unable to use because of how slow it is, also the camera is super grainy

  • I REALLY HATE THIS BRAND! (plus there's no storage) The phone is ugly and makes peple say: EW what brand is that!? Ya know? I recommend Apple all the way

  • Absolutely useless can't say much more that. I wouldn't recommend Alcatel to anyone.

  • Bad phone , software updates have f*cking viruses in it.WTF ALCATEL. Built quality is horrible

  • I have to disagree with that I've barely had it for a year and it glitches is very slow and has quite low storage. On top of that it can't even tell me the right bloody time because the time app glitches too. It is a complete waste of time and I would not recommend this to anyone.

  • If you could get a class action going against Alcatel, I would be willing to join it. In the last year or so, I have had to spend a great deal of time uninstalling the apps that automatically download, take up a lot of system space, corrupt and slow down the operation of the simple basic functions, and are completely unnecessary for those functions. It is also incredibly annoying that there does not appear to be any way of blocking the automatic installation. It has been very stressful, particularly as it took me a lot of time to research and work out what to do about these automatically downloaded apps forced by Alcatel. For clarity, the apps in question are File Manager, Joy Launcher and Joy Recorder, each of which has a prior factory version that is perfectly adequate for the operation of the phone. It is frankly very bad of Alcatel to interfere uninvited in the operation of its phones.

  • (I never stop commenting) I wouldn't say this phone is a solid choice anymore but this is my first phone, so I cannot recomment another. All in all, I'm not completely devastated by the phone but it is important to consider the problems with this phone especially when you are looking to buy. Just like buying a car.

  • I am here to update my thoughts and opinions once more on this phone. Though, it's still working (kinda) ok, I need to address a few points about the phone. The RAM is still horrible but understandable since I am a heavy user. Some heavy apps will work perfectly fine but other apps will be terminated in order to save RAM. An app such as Messenger can be very useful because you don't have to open the actual Messenger app in order to read/send messages. Messenger let's you over-lay it's messages (It's hard to explain if you don't use Messenger). The phone's RAM limits this feature by terminating Messenger in order to save RAM. It can be infuriating at times while you are in the middle of typing your message, the Messenger app closes on you. The RAM overall is still bad and nothing much can be done except limiting yourself to medium to low apps, though, high apps are still possible. An important feature to all phones is "multi-tasking" which allows you to switch between apps without having to slowly load up apps. Limited RAM means you will have to slowly open up apps if you want to switch. Before I explain this next problem, I'd like you all to know that these apps I have trouble with, I have little knowledge about them because I try to avoid these apps like a plague. I am unaware of Alcatel's situation when they decided to add many un-removable apps and ads but the problems are becoming apparent. The app "File Manager" from what I've read has a lot of ads and annoying notifications. "Apps", I have no idea what this app exactly does but it spams pop-up notifications along the lines of "You have many junk files" or "Clear up space in your RAM". Without touching the pop-up, you are switched to "Apps" where they tell you to enable permissions. This can happen while using Chrome or watching Youtube which can be very bothersome. Sure, you can return to your video and ignore "Apps" but the pop-up will always come back and interrupt your videos once more. This may or may not be true but all the unwanted apps and ads may be the way that Alcatel makes money off these phones. "Since this is a cheap phone, they got to make money somehow". Though, this is speculation, I'm afraid that if this happens more on the future updates, privacy of the phone will become a major concern. Privacy is a very important thing to have and you must be willing to spend a lot more than 100$ if you want to protect your privacy. I am still holding my hope that the administrators will not go down this path. One quick point about bloatware, as a heavy user I rely on many apps and the pre-installed apps posed little problems. But with each update coming with apps, I see that my storage is gradually building up. tl;dr Low but usable RAM, low storage (alleviated by buying an SD card), unwanted apps and pop-ups (Google apps weren't the problem), the phone should be restricted to medium to low apps and finally, there are privacy concerns involving a few apps and future updates (this concern is a mere speculation).

  • its nt 2 bad esp for £65 think its gud as a 1st smart phone

  • Excellent smartphone, highly reliable, good battery life, and fast responding, camera should be better in low light, best budget phone by far!!!!

  • The phone is not so bad, Alcatel makes you regret the purchase though. The phone, unlocked, will be free of Carrier bloatware but Alcatel has decided that, if the carrier can't make your life miserable, they will. You will have useless shit on this phone that you cannot delete and some you can't even disable. When it performs a system update, you will get more of this shit and Alcatel customer service will basically tell you that it is too damn bad for you if you don't like it. But you can factory reset. I have had the phone for 6 months and they tell me I should factory reset again because of their system updates. Bullshit. Alcatel, you have lost my business. I should be talking to a lawyer and others to look at a class action lawsuit against you. Especially since your bloatware makes my phone lose me money. I rely on my phone for work and you make it unusable. Show me where you let the consumer know about this before the purchase of you garbage. You don't. Along with Alcatel, your mother company loses any chance of getting business from me, and I used to love phones from that company (Nokia). Never again. Buyer beware.

  • The worst phone I have ever used. Uncomfortable, slow, lasts 2 hours on a good day and has a broken headphone jack. Yeah. A BROKEN HEADPHONE JACK.

  • amazing phone but battery life has suddenly decreased massively

  • I agree entirely with Laura's opinion the phone is absolute rubbish. The battery does not even last 24 hours it has no space to download what you want but plagues you with unwanted apps. I have never had such a useless piece of equipment - not fit for purpose

  • I agree with your comments, but I have to add that for me ( after almost a year of heavy usage) it works perfectly without a single issue, EXCELLENT PHONE for low money!!!!! Thanks Alcatel l!!!!

  • I have this phone for a year and it works perfectly without a single issue, EXCELLENT Phone for low money! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

  • What an absolute load of rubbish. Do not buy or get on a contract. Not fit for the simplest of phone usage. Storage abysmal, joy launcher an utter nightmare, mediocre camera.

  • This is by far the worst phone I have ever experienced. It comes with no space and inserting a large space SD card doesn't help because you can't migrate most of the data. It's slow, the camera is rubbish and it aggressively downloads apps you don't want and cannot get rid of. I would rather be flayed alive than buy another Alcatel phone. If you're considering it, punch yourself in the face instead - quicker and less painful.

  • I am finding this phone very difficult to use because the on board 8 GB memory is almost full of Google stuff. It runs very slowly & constantly nags me to clean up memory & run boost. These clean up programs always find stuff to delete from Google apps I haven't used. There is no room to install other apps as most of what I want won't install on the SD card. I'm not doing anything special - I wanted a simple office phone, no games or even music.

  • I have POP 4S and the battery issue in mine is related to this software (joy launcher and others). Whenever I reset it, the battery won't drop below 90% in 24 hours. But then it updates to this ad polluted utilities and the battery is drained within hours.

  • I only have one advice: avoid this phone like the plague! Quite simply the worst smart phone I have ever had. Before this I had the Alcatel Pop C3, and that was a perfectly decent budget phone. The Pop 4 is a completely different story: freezes up all the time, the keyboard takes years to come up, and the firmware is saturated with obnoxious and intrusive ads. 5 months after buying it, my battery is starting to give out from one day to the next. I can't imagine that in 2017 someone is selling a phone as bad as this. I've contacted Alcatel for a solution to the battery issues... hopefully their customer service is better than this product. But if they don't come up with a solution real quick, I'm just giving up and buying a new phone. What a waste of time money. Shame on you Alcatel!

  • What a load of rubbish u do talk

  • that is so true

  • Absolutely horrendous phone the keyboard takes ages to come up and the loudest noise is so quiet now I've replaced it one and I've hardly had it a year. When ur typing the keyboard just gives up and goes away so u have to wait another ten fricking minutes for it to come back up. The back camera is okay but the front is terrible and makes your skin look discusting. All apps are laggy iplayer and YouTube just pause themselves and is so annoying. I don't recommend this phone AT ALL. It's a waste of money and time I would rather spend more money for a phone that actually works all these good comments on here must have been paid because it's all lies. NEVER AGAIN ALCATEL. WILL BE GOING WITH APPLE

  • Do not buy this phone it is complete rubbish, I have had it several months now, had nothing but problems with it, the best advice I can give, if you are lumbered with it like me, is to download google launcher and make that the default. Whoever designed this phone needs to find another job!!

  • Had this POP 4 for about 6 months and had nothing but problems with it. battery takes ages to charge. It is full of useless notifications and a has the most annoying app called 'Joy Launcher' which you can't get rid of. I'm sorry I ever purchased this rubbish, I don't expect a lot from a cheap phone but I do expect it to work reasonably well. At the moment it is getting very close to the bin. Avoid this phone like the plague.

  • got this alcatel pop4 phone around march this year as my xperia stopped working its the worst phone i have ever had dose what it wants to do pop ups all the time have sd card in it cant seem to store my pics n stuff on sd card, it phone,s folk i am not trying to phone just hate

  • For those are looking to buy this phone, I will try to give moderate detail about my opinions on this phone. Right now this is my fourth month using this phone and I am somewhat ok with it. The money spent into this phone is what you get. This phone cannot handle heavy games (since it only has 1 GB of RAM) but can play light and easy games, so if you're an avid gamer, you might want to invest in a stronger phone. This phone has 8 GB of internal storage which is inconvenient since you would most likely use up all of the storage leading you to buy an SD card. I still have no problems with calling or texting. The camera is very mediocre when trying to take pictures in dim areas. My friend's iPhone took brighter pictures than mine so I had to ask my friend to send me their pictures. But in bright areas, the camera can be of good use. The launcher for the phone was fine till it updated and had annoying little features. It is better to just download another launcher from the playstore. There are also apps that you cannot uninstall like Google Music. You can probably live by ignoring them since they are kinda small. Somehow, with all of the bad, I made this phone work for me and I am grateful to have it. When you buy this phone, you have to accept the fact that it is underpowered since its a cheap phone and you have to finely tune it's contents so it doesn't lag or slow down on you. If you are a heavy user, you should invest a little more money on a better phone, otherwise, you have to get use to the phone for now.

  • My alcatel pop 4 does not come with google play store (so surprising).. I tried to xsend it from another android smart phone fortunately it was successful. Buh i can't update nor download my applications on the google play store i collected from another android smart phone. i'm really bordered. what do i do???

  • Alcatel pop 4 has been nothing but trouble since i purchased it. It has been sending double quite often and not receiving text

  • i have trouble with my alcatel screen, it is brouken, can you tell me where can i change it, and what is its prise, please answer me

  • I made the grave mistake of choosing to buy this abominable piece of crap. I've only had it for 6 months and it's already been through 3 chargers (including the original). Combine that with neverending storage issues and the keyboard doing the occasional vanishing act, not to mention the odd"contacts has stopped working"message on my screen, well it's just been a barrel of laughs.... I urge you not to buy this phone. This is my second Alcatel phone,I should have known better after the first one. Never again with an Alcatel. Good luck!

  • This Phone Is Great For Messages, Calls, Light Games, Some Video Editing And Web Browsing But Not That Great At Everything Else

  • AWFUL Paid £90. yes i know it's a budget phone, but there are some expectations that should be met!!! It continually freezes, the screen is unresponsive and opens another window unprompted, The keypad is slow and constantly mistypes. It also will not keep a VPN and needs reloading. Eventually it self loaded 'JoyLauncher' asking for access to all MSM, contacts, images. When I declined it went into a shut down/ open loop. The only cure was a full restore! Now it keeps crashing/ freezing (worse than before) and wifi has to keep being reconnected manually, just like the VPN before. It also carries a lot of bloatware that cannot be uninstalled. One word AVOID!

  • I paid $125.00 for this Alcatel POP4s. Since the first day I bought it I couldn't get it to work properly. I called Pure Talk, my carrier, and spoke with a tech. She was very nasty and hung up on me twice. I just canceled my phone today because the camera would not work right, and the tech didn't know how to fix the problem. I am now minus $125.00 as the carrier would not allow me to return or exchange the phone. Don't buy Alcatel and don't go with Pure Talk for service!!

  • Hello I want to buy this phone ....it is good or bad ...please help me Iwant your opinion

  • This is literally the worst phone I ever had. It is very slow, sometimes freezes for a few seconds, lot's of bloatware software which only slow down the phone and do not have absolutely any useful function.

  • Everything is good about this phone..n i not facing any problem like other...Not sure what actually happened..I'm just feel lucky bcoz my pop4+ working well..

  • I bought an unlocked version and it seems I don't have your issues, maybe it's your provider or an app you never disabled manufacturer wize

  • i can't download applications on google play store. please why is it nlike that???

  • Can someone please help?!? My music player, youtube, spotify and netflix keep pausing randomly. I listen to music constantly (its a therapy thing) but I cant use my phone to do so. Can someone please tell me how to fix it...

  • Found this site yesterday as I was searching for solutions to the 'running out of memory' and slow response issue a number of other people are encountering with their Alcatel POP4. I was very hacked off with the phone. My provider is Tesco and their telephone customer service weren't particularly helpful. Last night I happened to be in a Tesco store (Havant) with an in-house mobile phone department. I mentioned the issues I was having and the store assistant was incredibly helpful. He removed (uninstalled/disabled - it depends on the app whether you can uninstall/disable) what I didn't need/want. The result........ the phone is working and is pretty quick. Give the process a chance - see the posting from 'Sam' on 22 Mar 2017 for example, of what to do. Also, keep on top of the storage situation and use things like Google Photos to limit what you're storing on your phone.

  • do not buy this phone.

  • I've just lost a good 200 photos that a put on my phone from my camera, it's been absolutely fine for months till now. In fact I was in the process of making framed prints to sell but now they're all gone. Oh, I almost forgot, slow performance and hardly any apps can run.

  • This phone is utterly useless. I am bombarded with add all the time and it is slow and horrible. I want my contract revoked even if it means changing my number

  • very stupid software and very very very slow system

  • I really like it apart from three things: 1. The volume keeps messing up and the loudest sound setting is soo quiet now! 2. The storage is shocking. 3. Youtube or any other videos from any website pause on their own randomly and it get on my nerves so much! Especially when you're trying to listen to music and it keeps pausing! You then have to press play again! It's not even buffering! Does anyone have any ideas?

  • This has to be the worst phone iv ever bought and I have had alot of phones. The first day I gave it to my 3 year old without using it myself and a porn site popped up! I had not downloaded any app at that stage and I certainly don't watch porn. When I answer the phone, which is difficult in itself, I get cut off. sometimes if I try to answer random pop ups come up and I cant answer. All in all, you would have to pay someone to take this heap of s..t from you. There is so much more stuff that is wrong with this phone, I just dont have the time to say it. What a waste of 125euro

  • Alcatel pop4 I hotspot not working please help some one

  • not to the phone because all android programs work (almost) the same on every phone, I would say that this is your first Android phone and maybe a little ignorance or even years, but the best that you work with someone who has more knowledge for these appliances. Be patient, and later you will be very interest, this is not your old phone with buttons so you should be patient. I wish you luck .

  • Husband just bought me this beginning of a two day nightmare basic instructions a joke so had to go to Utube to learn how to set it up. Couldn't find start button, constantly asking for password going around in circles never ever known anything so complicated don't buy this complicated rubbish. I only requested it as reviews said easy to use what rubbish going back to store tomorrow for refund.

  • My pop4 plus hotspot is not connecting. Anyone with similar experience/solution

  • totally agree the system storage is dreadful

  • ME & my partner planning to buy pop 4 plus next week. Despite of so many negative comments regarding to this device, I had finally found & red a positive comments to it! :-) at least now I have the couraged to buy pop 4+ & learned how to do with it esp. with storage issue. I was in love with the physical apperance of the unit & its specs yet budgeted smartphone. Excited to use it ❤

  • in fact the thing about using an external sdcard as internal is all false advertisement. you can configure that but it doesn't work. this phone has an horrible OS that uses most of the ROM space and you can only use less than 3GB. clicking "the 3 dots again when you have set external to internal is to migrate data" is fake, it doesn't o anything at all. i understand that this is a cheap phone, but i'm i always use cheap phones, but this one is a cheap fraud. the screen is nice for the price, i also like the design, and it would be a nice phone with a nice OS that doesn't use all the space available. sadly, this is only a nice phone but impossible to use as a smartphone.

  • to everyone saying there running out of storage when sd card set as internal the problem is if you use your brain you need to click the 3 dots again when you have set external to internal is to MIGRATE DATA so all the data will be transfered to newly set internal sd card for apss that are set to sd card apps that need internal will always use the normal internal no matter what

  • Never ever again!!!!! Do not buy this piece of crap. Constantly out of memory even with an external card as extra internal memory.

  • Insert micro SD card Go to Settings / storage and USB Choose sd card 3 dots top right choose settings 3rd option is format sd as internal

  • Got an Alcatel POP4 as a gift (incl 2 yr contract paid up) several months ago. My first '2nd generation' smartphone. I don't like any mobiles because their intrusiveness outweighs their convenience for me. So I didn't rush to replace my stack of tiny phones. But I'm a 20yr experienced tech with PCs/Laptops and Android tablets so I knew a lot already about how to tweak this device. When I got it I immediately put a 32GB SD card in and uninstalled or disabled all the apps (most of the baked-in Google, games and Alcatel apps) I didn't want = frees up lots of space/memory. Plus restricted background data (stops a lot of apps secretly calling home and costing lots of money). That all saves battery. Battery is good, despite all-day use, every day. Needs a boost once a day or a full charge every 2.5 days. Installed all my tried and tested email/browser/search/security/games/utilities apps, photos, videos, music. I use the POP4 mainly as a tablet and for vid calls overseas. I don't need any of the 'social media' and bloatware trash. Everything works well/as I want and need it to. Photos are very good quality, Skype vid calls are great. Music and vid replay is great, sound is surprisingly good. Style is fine, build quality is great. Have to emphasise how impressed I am with its solid all-round performance. The two big bugbears with the POP4 are: 1. STORAGE IMHO Alcatel made a BIG mistake in providing only a tiny 8GB internal memory. They would have sold many more and had fewer returns and complaints with a decent 16GB mem. This phone really does deserve more! I've run into the 'insufficient space, can't install app' message like many others. Easy fix for this is to delete each app's data cache (but check that you're not deleting anything you need to save). Here's how: >SETTINGS>STORAGE>APPS> [choose and open apps individually]> CLICK CLEAR DATA [if you're sure you want to wipe it - most apps don't hold crucial info like photos or documents in cache, backup to SD card or other device via USB before wiping if so] Don't forget, all this %^&*!ware is eating up your battery if you don't disable it at least. This is why people here are complaining about the battery drain. It's not the battery, it's all this rubbish calling home in the background. Not going to convert the SD into internal memory. It becomes less flexible and less accessible/tweakable. 2. UNABLE TO WIPE BAKED-IN APPS (GOOGLE, ALCATEL AND OTHER BLOATWARE) I can't root this phone because it invalidates the contract and warranty. Otherwise all this !*&%^ ware would be long gone! If I owned this POP4 outright, I wouldn't hesitate to root it and get it kitted out exactly as I want it. Alcatel should be ashamed of themselves for putting in a small internal memory and loading it with their own stuff on top of all the endless Google bloat (how many Google apps do people really use?!) Apart from those 2 things, I reckon this is a great phone for the cost. But you have to know how to workaround these unnecessary limitations.

  • How to format the sd card as internal memory...need help pls

  • Hi, Is there any video or guide about changing the outer glass of the screen? Thanks

  • This version of android appears different to my earlier and doesn't permit lift and shift of apps to the SD card. Only files, mpegs, mp3 files etc can be moved or saved to sd. Even files saved from email attachments go to internal memory and have to be moved using file manager. If there isn't enough memory for apps it can be increased by formatting the SD card as internal. I haven't tried this yet, preferring to keep the SD as a standalone ext memory as I don't need more internal memory yet.

  • Agreed, especially about using the browser for the apps. I'm using Opera mini to access Facebook, Google and messenger. This alone saves the 200Mb that the standalone messenger app occupies and is easy to switch off completely when not in use. Depends if you want apps running permanently in the background.

  • I've disabled bloatware I don't want and only added apps I really need. I have 1.3Gb spare from the 8Gb installed. I could integrate the SD card to increase the apparent internal memory, potentially 40Gb total but not sure what effect this will have on the performance/speed. At the moment I think this is a great phone for the money!

  • Agreed!

  • When you insert an SD card there is an option to format it as internal memory. It warns that you will not be able to use as a normal sd card after this action. I haven't tried it, preferring an sd separate from the internal but may go this route in the future. I'm concerned it may slow some of the core apps as it accesses the SD memory.

  • How do you merge the internal and external storage

  • I just bought the phone ..till now I think that the phone is great good battery life and good for low budget

  • Pop 4 as a phone is pretty good. What people overlook is the fact the Pop 4 is on Android v6.0 Android v6.0 allows you to merge your SD Card storage with the internal storage. Doing so, will increase the overrall storage. That combined with the low price point makes this phone great for a budget. If storage is going to be a major issue, just invest in a 16gb (or over) SD Card, and you're golden. (Tech Support Technician)

  • Limited Memory and filled with bloat ware its a budget handset for a reason.

  • I'm not sure excactly what your problem is, you aren't being very specific. If yo could say what you have tried I could probably see what the problem is.

  • i have a very big issue with with the pop 4 cos after just a week the phone's screen is off.

  • its not a good device cos just a week and now the screen is gone.

  • This will probably only be relevant for some but my hands started getting itchy and cover in small bridgers. It was only in places I held the blue metallic phone cover. I am allergic to my phone case! Never had this problem before and have bought a cover now. I have read online of other phones before but not this model.

  • very bad cell phone, we got 4 of them as Christmas present for my family, they all been restart and never go on before 1 h doing this i hate this phone.

  • Ive never even bothered to review anything before but this is worth it. The pop 4 is one of the best ,if not the best $99 dollar smartphone on the market currently. My xperia z4 smashed and I needed something fast as a cheap replacement. When I brought this I expected a really bad cheap phone bit I was absolutely shocked when I started using the device. The first thing that struck me was the build quality. It felt good in the hand and was pretty comfortable. Next and most importantly was the experience. I installed all the necessary apps ' Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram ect.' And they all launched very quickly really .and all have been working fine. The ui is nicely skined and it feels quite pure. This phone only rocks 1gb of RAM and 8gb of internal memory but it still manages quite well and it's also expandable. The cameras are okay but struggle in low light but I have been able to get some impressive shots with the 8mp camera and the front facing 5mp is pretty good for selfies as well.Battery lasts a whole day as well. In conclusion this phone is amazing for the price (people expect way to much out of something so cheap). And the experience is no where near as slow as some are claiming it's not the fastest thing but it's definitely not a snail. Coming from a flagship to a extreme budget phone was easy with the pop 4. Would recommend to anyone.

  • All these comments against the pop 4 I think is wrong I've got one and it's fantastic can't say a word wrong about the phone very responsive memory is good no faults battery life is good I would recommend this phone to all can't find a thing wrong about this phone

  • Battery consumption depends on the applications you have installed on the phone and working in the background even if you do not use the phone. such as; facebook instagram messenger, etc and if you delete these apps and use them through the browser , thus saving up to 40% of the battery (day)life . display put on minimum brightness and wi - fi, bluetooth, use it when you need. but how to charge mobile phone battery; li -ion batteries work better when you are not used to the end 0%,but most to 25 % and then put the battery to charge75-90% , ( why?) lithium-ion batteries have a rated lifetime of somewhere between 500 and 1,500 charge cycles. so if it reach 100% or less then 25% then it lose 1 cycle.(the user runs it down all the way to zero before recharging) can degrade to 70 percent of its original capacity in 300-500 cycles With a DoD of 25 percent, where the user plugs it in as soon as it gets to 75 percent remain, that same battery could be charged up to 2,500 times before it starts to seriously degrade. Charge a little bit whenever you can. Lithium-ion batteries don't respond well to being charged all the way up and then run all the way down. They take much better to little bits of charge here and there. What's far more dangerous to a battery's well-being is heat. Lithium-ion batteries despise heat. for more space in the internal memory, do delete all the apps you do not use, but the ones that are installed along with the software and can not be deleted then do 'disable' and you will have more space for new apps

  • As far as I know, apps are downloaded to your phone first. (Of course, this means that your phone will need to have enough internal space to download that app.) After that you can manually move that app to your SD card. (Settings, apps, select whichever app, click on storage, then you should see an option where you can choose to move the app to SD.) And of course, you can also move all photos and videos to your SD card, either by using your phone's file manager, or by plugging into a PC to do so.

  • You should definitely be able to take normal photos, the phone is equipped with a 8 MP rear camera. There should be an option in your camera app to switch between front and rear cameras. If you can't find this option in your app, you can also try downloading a third party camera app from the Play Store. As for storage, you can free up space by uninstalling some apps, or by using a micro SD card to expand your storage size. To do this, choose to format your SD card as 'internal storage' (a message asking for your choice should pop up the first time you insert an SD card). Note that you can only move apps that you have installed yourself to the SD card. Factory apps that come pre-installed usually cannot be moved. To 'remove' some of these pre-installed apps to clear up storage space, you can go into your settings -> apps -> select whichever app, then click 'storage', then 'clear cache'. After that, go back and click 'disable'. I also want to add that the stock camera app that came with my phone likes to apply too much postprocessing to images, making them seem washed out and unnatural. An easy 'fix' is to download another camera app from the Play Store -- maybe this can help those who are currently not satisfied with image quality.

  • i think the phone is okay no problem with it but the battery life is a bit short but i think the mega bit is not enough to download apps caz

  • This crap cheap garbage phone turns on and off then on then later over and over again. Do not waste your money and time. Tech tells me to send it in. I have replaced it 3X. No more.

  • I bought this phone in july, very sad little thing, cant open apps, cant get the radio to work much, no memory, should I go on............. I will get something else!

  • all apps you do not need, delete or disable, but remember ''messenger'' is a nightmare for every phone, as corrupting the phone memory for a few days, because all the time running in the background and the battery life is short because of messenger.

  • ''factory data reset''

  • Glad to see I am not the only one unhappy with this phone. Cannot take a photo (unless its a selfie) not for me ! .cannot put it on silent. Hardly make or receive a call or text,BUT now I am getting message phone storage is full. and to clear some resources. Been on CHAT line , no help. I am elderly. I can only follow simple instructions. Wished I had never signed up for this contract. Anyone advise me how I can break this contract. Thanbks.

  • Got one for my daughter. Put on WhatsApp and want to put on Messenger. But it says not enough room for both. Have an SD card formated as internal but it wont use the space for either app. Any addvice?

  • Hi, how did you move apps and pics to the sd card? i simply cant

  • I like the phone in ways, but it's 2 biggest faults is its camera not great and the memory is a joke, but apparently some people have had success formatting an sd card, but others haven't,I have ordered one and should have it soon, and if it works Ile be happy with the phone, shame about the camera tho but it's passable, but if this SD card doesn't work then the phone is useless.

  • Hi if I format an sd card will my apps that I download automatically go on the SD card, and all my photos and videos etc, also I ordered a 16g SD will that be enough? Your the 1st person who seems to have successfully solved the memory problem, teach me lol thanks for any help you can give.

  • When on the home screen pull down from the top and it gives u different options like WiFi, Bluetooth, alarms only etc etc. Click on the alarms only & it will give you options for on hour or until you turn it off. That is the silent mode

  • simply, the button for the sound back to the end

  • The same happened to me

  • Had this phone 4 a week n can't find ow 2 put it in silent mode can anyone help plz?

  • The Alcatel Pop 4 was made in 2016 with a 8mp camera and some phones made in 2013 have an 8mp camera... Rubbish!!! As well I all ways get 'Unfortunately ... Has Stopped. It is also really slow, laggy, etc. I would recommend you to get a better brand EG Samsung, Apple, Microsoft etc.

  • When I bought the Alcatel Pop 4, it seemed like a good deal ..... few pounds cheaper than the "equivalent" Samsung. How very wrong I was ----- Selfie camera is out of focus and, it seems, there is no way to focus it. |Also, Despite following instructions regarding SD cards, the phone just will not use it ...... Waste of money and a classic case of "false econ omy" ..... lesson learnt. Stay away from Alcatel : useless PS almost impossible to get a case for it, as well ....

  • I'm afraid to be so bold, but this phone is absolute rubbish. No storage capability even with S.D card, the main issue I have is video audio quality on play back, totally distorted and muffled. totally regret upgrading from my trusted Motorola to which I'm going back to..

  • My God this has been my second Alcatel phone and this phone has been so bad. I would constantly try and open apps but it takes so long to open any apps. I was trying to talk to my friend but i could hear him but he couldn't hear me. It freezes constantly every time. This phone is garbage and I would highly recommend keep your money and buy something else worth while not this garbage.

  • useful information for how to charge mobile phone battery; li -ion batteries work better when you are not used to the end 0%,but most to 25 % and then put the battery to charge75-90% , ( why?) lithium-ion batteries have a rated lifetime of somewhere between 500 and 1,500 charge cycles. so if it reach 100% or less then 25% then it lose 1 cycle.(the user runs it down all the way to zero before recharging) can degrade to 70 percent of its original capacity in 300-500 cycles With a DoD of 25 percent, where the user plugs it in as soon as it gets to 75 percent remain, that same battery could be charged up to 2,500 times before it starts to seriously degrade. • Phone came without user instructions. Can't receive incoming calls. Taking it back to place of purchase. Don't want it.

  • cant receive incoming calls - phone wont ring or vibrate

  • The Alcatel POP4 is loosing power so quick and has to be on the charger for as long as you use it. Purchased the phone mid-September but it's annoying. don't know what to do with it anymore. Even if I use "Clean Master" the space isn't there as advertised and battery span. I found this to be worse phone in this era even though it has good features.

  • Hi, can you get Instagram and/or Pinterest on this phone? Thanks!

  • Hello and am from Ghana. Please i bought this product for about 3 months ago and just last two weeks i mistakenly let it fell in water and now i can't see anything on the screen. I sent it to a repairer and he told me the screen is damaged so i have to buy a new one to be replace. I have search every place that i know for one but to no avail. Please i would like to know where in Ghana i can get one to buy? I need it badly. Thank you.

  • Music keeps stopping and starting when it feels like it. As well as that, there I 8GB internal storage. What is wrong with them. There was an 8GB model iPhone 2G and it worked better than this. Seriously, I put in a 32GB as card and formatted it, and it still says i haven't got enough storage. If you want to get a better phone, get an iPjone or a Motorola G4 play. Theyre better

  • Drives me nuts ! After installing about 7 standard apps, its out of space and I have to delete apps to install others. Do Alcatel even test these phones in the real world? WHO can use a phone like this? A 10 year old kid? I doubt it !

  • The battery is bad it dies so quickly, very bad

  • LOW STORAGE! ~ and you're stuck with it under Marshmellow _____________ It ran out of space within a day and I couldn't install new apps. WARNING: Marshmellow will NOT allow you to move apps to an exernal SD card (like previous OSs), unless you format that card as INTERNAL storage. ("Adopted storage") And if you do THAT then: * you can't transfer your files to/from your PC in the usual way (i.e plug in via usb and the folders appear). Your pc can't see it. * you can't remove your ext sd card without problems. The phone now relies on it. THIS MEANS you are basically stuck with the low storage this phone has! (Most experts recommend AGAINST 'adopting' your ext sd card as internal storage because of the above cons and a few others, such as high wear on the SD.) ============================= Dear Alcatel, instead of making dozens of models, just make a HANDFUL of models that have sufficient specs to offer at LEAST one DECENT, BASIC phone (at the bottom of the range)! Clearly Alcatel does NOT start with the consumer in mind. They start with the question: "What price do we want to sell this for and what can we put in it for that price?" Instead Alcatel you should start by asking: "What is the most basic specs the avg consumer will need, and what is the lowest price we can give that for?" THAT is your entry-level phone. (And that should probably MINIMUM quad-core, *16GB* of storage (NOT 8!), 8MP camera...Anything less is just going to cause customer complaints that ruin your reputation. People don't care if it was cheap if it doesn't even do basic functions!) An Alcatel phone that has good specs in one area, usually has shocking specs in another!

  • Hello - just purchased this and for the last 4 hours the screen says Just a sec...... Any advice please?

  • Yep, had the phone for 3 months now and it has VERY LIGHT usage and apps installed. Moved apps, pics etc to external SD card but still get the error regularly. The O/S and necessary apps seem to take up 7.5 of the 8GB memory and leave very little room for extra apps (those that cannot be moved to the external memory). Internet doesn't seem to supply any helpful info to resolve the problem.

  • Having same problem,,I bought 32gb micro SD card formatted it as internal storage ect.but I'm still getting messages saying insufficient storage when trying to download apps..and built in apps won't let you move to sd card..so going to try a 16gb micro SD card see if that works.worse phone iv ever had if you get a solution please let me know

  • Annoying...... Was brought to me in Ghana from UK..... After a week de screen doesnt work ...... De most annoying is der x no service centre in Gh to repair it .....

  • Buy a new car ;)

  • Had to get new phone as old one died.. bought Alcatel pop4.the built in apps took up internal memory so I purchased an sd card..waste of money..as it won't let you transfer internal storage apps onto sd card unless I root it..updating apps I get a message you don't have enough storage..pain in the but having to delete apps I need to free up space.phone freezes in mounts sd card..don't buy this phone

  • Totally agree. NO MEMORY. Constantly trying to get you to buy apps. Bought more memory but still doesn't work. No music player app included. Ridiculous. The store said they would take it back - seems they know it is useless too !

  • The phone is usable and convenient in every way - except it has no memory! A single app will cause the phone to have indigestion and cease to function. For that reason, it is almost entirely useless as a smart phone. Reserve your use to that of a utility spare phone, which is what mine is now demoted to. Just to be clear: do not buy if you want the functionality of a smart phone. My one app is SwiftKey, thereafter nothing could be loaded and other with-phone apps (such as PlayStore) had to be systematically uninstalled in order to receive texts. It's a shame, because the unit looks and feels good. Why no memory, Alcatel? It can't be that expensive? Altogether, a rather odd experience.

  • yes

  • Just a correction, screen PPI isn't 441 but 294, and screen/body is 69.5%

  • Yes it does have a LED at the top and highly recommend it, However you have to get a memory card at least 8GB as once the internal space is full it will start to freeze and the phone will stop responding

  • A very important question: Does it have a notification LED? Thanks in advance!

  • for the price is great

  • Can anybody recomend this phone, i'm looking to up grade (24 month contract & this is in my budget) would it be worth it as i've never heard of it, Thank You

  • I agree about the 8g low memory of this phone. As suggested by previous posts, I have formated an sdcard as an internal memory and it worked fine. No problem to transfer any data. Few applications can also be transfered onto the external sd, but it does not free too much space. Eventually, you end up with a saturated internal memory and this is really too bad. I am really looking at a solution to free some more space. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with this phone, at least for this price range.

  • How can I make the ring tone last longer before it goes onto voicemail :

  • for that you could back the lost images should try the program for data recovery as ( wondershare data recovery, or recovery cd) there are many applications install the program to pc then connect to the phone and run to find lost data, also it have and android applications that you can install on the phone to find your lost data but better and faster going through pc

  • when you connect bluetooth make sure you're in visible option to all nearby Bluetooth devices if you're not then Mark this option in order to connect to your car to recognize and then when it finds Click to connect

  • sd card can not be internal memory means that which is built into the phone to remain internal memory and what is added to the phone SD card that is complementary and can not be the main memory so simply impossible to upgrade with external memory.

  • cant pair my pop4 with my new car not happy, any suggestions?

  • 5Alcatel OneTouch Pop 4 5051D

  • Could you tell me how I can format sd card as internal memory? Nobody could answer this for me and couldn't find online either, thank you.

  • Am I the only one having success with this phone? I rather like it and does everything I need, just make sure you format your SD card as Internal Memory and then you're sorted. The problems I have been hearing on here lie with Android 6 and not the actual phone or Alcatel themselves.

  • Have read that photos are needed to transfer to desktop once before moving to SD card. It's annoying enough and during transfer my photos to google device, it stopped and started rebooting. Then I found out all photos are gone except a few in google device. Does someone know what happened and how I can get them back? Thank you.

  • Nearly all apps are prevented from transferring to SD card on Android. Photos and other data can be transferred but on the Alcatel it can be tricky. However, I have found that if photos will not transfer, placing them on the desktop and then transferring from there does work. Currently I am managing to transfer every piece of data on to the sd card.

  • a great phone for the price , does everything a phone should , no issues at all with it . my one complaint is 8gb storage around 5 pre installed software , i would recommend it unless you think you can buy a phone for £70 and it does everything a top of the range phone

  • Bought it 3 weeks ago, now selling it for 40℅ of the price. Problems: - 1st week the battery was average, then it became trash; - Switching between 3G from both SIMs turns them off, completely. - GPS module is crashing already, at the service center said that it's hardware problem. "Fixed" it 3 times and it still breaks...yes 3 times for 3 weeks. - You can use your SD as a mount storage, high speed class 10 behaves like a 10 year old class 4 card. - And for conlusion, the RAM is always taken at ~ 80℅ by the system, so u have ~20 for all of the apps you plan to use. Forget about games or more than 4 browser tabs.

  • I can't find where to move internal storage to SD card

  • Does this phone hold many pictures? I'm struggling to find things straight away to be honest Not really liking but so far

  • I just bought this phone. had the same problem of the low memory. found out that you have to buy a class 10 memory card or uhs1 memory card and perform format as internal. all your apps will be install on the memory card. and you can move the apps to memory card. not alcatel problem. its android 6.0 feature.

  • Its a nice phone HOWEVER if your like me and upgrading you phone that you have for years (5 years atleast xD) because it wont run the newer apps then this is not the phone for you it runs most apps but AR and VR do not work since this device is does not have a Gyroscope in it ='( but if you can still play pokemon go =D just without the camera interaction part so no photos of wild pokemon getting hit by a bus for me ='(

  • However, my friend I do not know how old you are , because I am the older generation this your comment can compare with WINDOWS XP that still work and I think that is the best because you can do what you want, so when you compare with the latest WINDOWS 10 to the disaster, does not allow what you want , it is the same as the latest android , so I still use 4.2.2 JB because simply is the best, as Win XP , if at all , this young generation knows . conclusion; of all new systems are designed so that they can monitor everything you do and allow what they want so abolished the old programs that are free to operate. as this latest game POKEMON ha , ha , are not even aware that google along with a game install and monitoring program that is impossible to delete so you arbitrarily and unconsciously approve your details to be monitored in the system. greetings to all Pokemon sheep

  • Bought one (Aug 2016) to replace my 5 year old Alcatel one touch idol S 6034R. The Idol S was running Android 4.2.2 which was too old to run some new apps like BT Sport which needs 4.4 and above. Was looking forward to new 'better' functionality of Androids latest version 4.6 Marshmallow. Well, cant believe how bad it is !, ... things may look a bit sexier but functionality is nowhere near as simple and intuitive as it used to be on my old phone/version. Don't know who to blame, Alcatel or Android developers. Lots of small issues but by far the biggest problem is not being able to choose 'Primary Storage Location for downloads' as on the old phone and getting msg 'Not enough space to download App, move some apps to SD Card to free up space', ... would be nice if you could but only some apps can be moved, so its not long before the same msg re-appears. I've spent a week doing numerous Factory Resets and starting again with no success, but have now found a possible solution on the Alcatel Support website. it suggests 'migrating data' in 'Settings' 'Storage' 'SD Card' and the Menu Icon, ... what this poorly named option actually does is not just migrate a small amount of data as it first implies, but moves most folders from Internal Storage to the SD Card. So now it looks like it might be better, but apps still seem to download to wherever they want and still and don't always allow movement to SD Card. So after all this I'm still expecting the same problem in the near future. On the old phone choosing primary storage location and moving apps was simple. How can companies release software as bad as this ? , ... I just cant believe it.

  • Good afternoon, I had an Alcatel Pop 4, too. There was the problem, that it clicked for example on some pages on links by itself. So I brought the phone back to the store where I bought it. I know probably a solution: Go to Google Play Store, there to Settings and disable automatic updates. There are three or more possibilities: 1.) update only when on WiFi 2.) update automatically and 3.) never update. I recommend to set it to "never update automatically". It's because WiFi is dangerous especially for downloading of apps. Then go to the settings of your phone, go to apps, go to "all apps" and go to an app you who has a significant number of mb, for example 10 mb. Now click on "uninstall updates". Please tell me if it helped.

  • have you tried this , settings , apps , select the application that you install or an existing , open , and there appears a possibility to move sd card . Some can and some can not be moved , or try with all

  • For basic phone to call or text someone then buy this or give to a really old person. It is definately not suited for business where I need a phone for emails, Calendar, Agneda, Tasks, Bluetooth to connect to my car's onboard voice recognition. There is no use trying to download a better app because I have tried 7 of the top 10 email exchange apps that cannot function properly with restricted settings. As mentioned before there is only 700mb of internal memory left after it is turned on and I can't opento my SD card for additional files. I normally spend a lot of time researchin phones but as it was i needed a phone urgently after my SG met an unfortunate fate. It looks and feels great but that is as far as it goes. Do not buy this phone it want more apps and do more things!

  • Thank you Pane for your help. I have tried to solve the problem but there is no option to move aplication from phone to memory card like other phones. Thank you again

  • your phone is infected because when doing things by itself it is an indication that the virus gives commands to the operating system , the only solution is to install CM Security , which will offer to install another program that kills viruses , it is impossible to write the name, because if this text to be deleted , here only the first word ' stubborn ' ' signs on the play store then install and solve your problem

  • your name indicates that you are from Macedonia , I hope I'm not mistaken , but ok we're going to solve your problem with the internal memory which is 8GB and you should know that the operating system takes more than 5GB , then all applications and games also take up a lot of memory. because of that it's best to see which apps and games you do not need to delete them , or they you can not delete it , then do ''disable''for those apps so you can increase the internal memory of the phone , the other option is if you put micro SD card and some applications it is possible to switch from phone storage the SD card so that it will take very little of your phone memory. i hope I've helped.

  • Dont buy this phone! Internal memory is 8gb but when you turned on the first time all aplications make update and you will left only 700 mb free memory

  • the dpi listed specifications are that of pop 4s! pop 4, 294 dpi.

  • Hello, I'm again the user who wrote about the problem with the phone clicking by itself, dragging down the notification bar... Yesterday I was at the Service Apres Vente of Fnac. The man looked at the phone but unfortunately couldn't find the errors. But he gave me a ticket of a value of 120 or 130 euros. I'm really not happy about that, but better than nothing.

  • Hello, I bought last week an Alcatel Pop 4 for 130 euros at a Fnac store in France. Browsing the internet with this phone is terrible. It drags down the notification bar several times and with a sec of distance, clicks on links and marks texts. All this BY ITSELF WITHOUT MY DOING. The terrible thing is: it only has the problem on some web sites on WiFi. When using 3G or more it has it on more websites. Like it has only on some pages I cannot prove it. I was already at Fnac. The man at the Service Apres Vente of Fnac said, that I need to prove it. I cannot prove it. It's so terrible. The phone has this problem using Chrome and Opera. On Firefox it has not often this problem. But Firefox is slow (at least on this phone) and needs maybe more data. But at least one can surf with Firefox. I'm so disappointed of Fnac and Alcatelm

  • What? i mean what do you expect for a cheap budget phone? alcatel pop 4+ has 1.5 gb ram and better camera if you have a little bit of money to spare or if you got more money you can buy alcatel pop 4S which have much better ram, battery life, performance and camera

  • Ey! I just bought this phone yesterday and it's really great for a budget phone.I have no problem at all,the battery is geat the charging is fast the camera is good for a budget phone.Speaker are also great.the only problem is the sensitivity screen it's pretty hard to swipe and type but i found a solution just go to the setting and then tap language and input,At the very button is should say pointer speed.Tap it,increase it for more sensitivity and decrease it for less sensitivity.

  • I solved the problem with the "volume booster".

  • I bought the POP 4 three days before. It's a nice device. The appearance and the functionality are very good. The size is the proper for all the users. GPS, WiFi , calls, battery, touch screen, camera, etc. are also good. The only serious problem I met is the speaker. I tried almost all the sound boosters and I compared it with many other smartphones and tablets.

  • that ram memory is important for the operation of the phone , but processor is the brain that gives commands to the program and when the program is burdened with many applications , then the speed is limited and the program is slow work , so free internal memory of unnecessary programs or the best to do factory data reset, but first save all personal data , such; image, mp3 ,video ,contacts, etc in the PC or SD card and pull it before you do reset

  • you could boost the sensitive touch in developer mode or install SGS Touchscreen Booster

  • sheila, to solve this problem ( dark screen ) thurn off the phone , then remove battery for 1 min, after put it back and start the phone , problem is solved.

  • Touch screen not sensitive enough when typing or swipe

  • press the power button, to wake up Then answered the call with the touch and drag to the green handset icon . However, given the answer to your question is sufficient

  • it looks like the first time in your life have android phone. but be tolerant and assertive and perhaps ask for help from someone who knows the android program to teach you how to use the phone

  • how do you answer the phone from the sleep position (dark screen)when it rings tried all i know do my head in old girl

  • Very disappointed. Not a computer geek. No user information. No instruction manual. No idea how to set it up. Have taken it back for a refund.

  • is there anything i can do about the ram ? sometime its always take like 98% of ram so freaking annoying and when it happen.. my phone is lagging and some apps closed itself

  • 8gb storage with android 6.0 ? Only available 2 or 3gb

  • That isn't the phones fault. If it was bought new, it'd have manuals. Not sure what you mean by 'symbols' (icons or quick settings like wifi?) but they're standard on all smartphones now either way. Turning it on/off is the same on pretty much all smartphones now too, the dedicated key. If you're new to smartphones and bought this used, honestly, that's down to you, don't criticise the phone.

  • Extremely disappointed in this product, can't even answer a call, have to get a message then return the call, the product is not user friendly,no user manual, told by store staff to download manual, pray tell, its not even on line to down load

  • just got the Alcatel Pop4 and to be honest it runs like a phone should do which is fast and simple to use. I also like the fact that it has its very own app store where you can download apps to play with (not google play). If anything this is to be a good phone for a typical teenager would use as their first phone

  • Not bad for the money. Latest Android operating system (6). 4G too. Works well. Build quality not too bad either !!

  • no user info, noinstruction on how to turn it o or off what all the sybals on the phone represent very disappointed

  • How is this possible? 5.0 inches (~30.5% screen-to-body ratio) Resolution 720 x 1280 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density)

  • Only one comment in half year? Btw, 210 on Android with HD and 6.0? Useless phone.

  • Specs are incomplete. LATAM variant comes with 1.5GB of RAM and better cameras
