I had this phone way back in 2009, I liked it. But the things I didn't like about this are: Music can't be played from background, when you want a certain song, you cannot type the song down and you have to press the navigation keys all the way. I didn't like the keypad tones though its nice, but it sucks when you press fast (texting is the very good example). The battery life is good, it depends on the user if the battery drains fast. The LCD flex had problem, it became all white, so I had it replaced but after a few months it occur again. The camera was poor. (because its only 1.3 megapixel) but depends on the lighting and I still managed to capture some good shots. After using this I became traumatized on being a slider/folding phones. I use touch screen and qwerty phones.

the battery easily gets drain , after a while the keys get unresponsive , had to press very hard to have it respond , i decide to disassemble it, remove the membrane, rub the button gently with a fine sandpaper , have it reassemble , now, its responded well.

For the price? Yes. I gotta 2nd hand one for R350(South African currency) but one thing. The slider must be cellotaped (with sticky tape) so that it cant be closed. The ribbon (that connects the 2 parts together gets worn). But Android is the phone to get. Oh, yeah.

I had this phone for about 3 years. It worked well on the first year but after we change the flex that's when the problem started... Hey Ive been using this phone for 8 months now.. so soon and ive ALERADY got a prob. the phone screen goes white. it has happened for the past 2 days. i tried charging, switching off and on but it is ineffective. i JUST got it fixed for problem with keys (they werent working on pressing) and now this. I've had this phone for around three years but recently the sound just turned off for no reason and now i cant listen to music, make calls, check my credit, etc. Quality isn't good, when i receive files via bluetooth it will always go to the phone memory. I have a memory card, but there is no setting to put the files straight to the card, so you cant receive files more than 7MB. It is kinda (actually, very) crap i have to say... :(

I've had this phone for a 18 months and it i really liked it until a month ago. I thought that it was a good little phone that wasn't flash or anything but was small and sturdy, but what did annoy me was the limited memory. However the buttons on top slide bit all started failing one by one. first the ok button, then select and then the arrows until finally they were all useless within three weeks apart from the on/off button. It's lucky i had put people on speed dial before or it would have been useless. about a week after the all failed, (about a week ago) the screen started going white everytime that I slid down. i think that the problem is that some grains of dust or sand or somehting got into the gap between the two panels. the same thing is happening to my friend with the exact same phone but my dad has the samephone and we got it at the same time and his is fine, so i recommend to just being careful. overall though a good little phone, easy to use, fond of it until about a month ago.

10 days old, charged for 12 hours and after +- 10 hours without even using it, 1 of the 3 battery indicator bars are used up. Unfortunatly I first had to waste my money buying it to find out I'd been suckered. Phones with a bad battery life should not be allowed on the market because they are not reliable in times of extreme need.

after a year of usage my J750 does not work properly anymore. The least of the problem is when I slide it close the wallpaper disappears and I see only a grey screen. The biggest problem is I can be called (so far so good) and can call ohters (also a good thing) but in both situations I cannot hear anybody while they can hear me. Any suggestions what might be faulty?

BAD - camera and video camera are both crap, can only use standard samsung ringtones for SMS GOOD - its a very tough little phone, it slides well, is easy to text, you can put reliable passwords on all your personal things

this is an awful phone.had to buy a battery twice already.software crashed twice and i had to pay a lot of money to get it re-installed.it restarts whenever it pleases.the camera is good though and produces nice pics.but all-in-all this is a piece of junk and i would not recommend it to anybody.

I've had mine for about a year now. I don't use it much so I can get roughly two or more days out of the battery. I do find, however, that the battery indicator is wildly inaccurate. It can say 3 bars and go dead, or be on one bar for days.

you get what you pay for.... i am happy with this phone, my battery lasts for ever, the phone is smart enough not to use it up when there is no signal. the sound of the speakerphone is lousy. but I really have no complaints about this very affordable, fairly feature rich tool for communicating. if you want big memory, great sound, touch screen, a wonderful camera, go out and find a phone that claims to have those features. this one does not make the claims and does not have the features. i bought it because it was the cheapest tri-band phone on the shelf at vodafone shop here in italy when my motorola razr went crazy and unusable. the razr works again but i am sticking with the j750 anyway.

I have similar problem. The screen turned to white, and sometimes it displays a reverse image. Also, sometimes the keys are not functioning after you slide..After confirming to a technician, the flex had been worn out and needs a replacement. I took a replacement but it lasted only for about 2 months then the same problem occurs.

I am having the exact same problem. When you slide the phone up then the buttons on the slide do not work. You have to actually slide the phone a little down and then you can use the buttons. I have also had the screen just go white. Did you solve your problem & what did you have to do?

So if you are thinking to buy this i suggest you go to a trusted seller. I have this phone and it has worked fine, but put it in a phone sock cos the screen scratches easily!

Phone is junk - standby currently 3 days (72 hours), use it and that drops to 2 days (if you are lucky). Had it checked out (by Samsung)- seems there is no problem, even swopped battery for a new one.

The bottom does, but the screen and buttons on the top slide bit does not work AT ALL. SO I do not reccomend this phone if you cannot live without a mobile, you may be very disappointed. the problem of your phone is the flex cable or what they call the ribbon.. it can still be fixed.. it is a common problem in slides.. hope it helps..

E stands for Edge and what it's telling you is the type of signal you're getting. The types are: GPRS > EDGE > 3G > HSDPA (3G+). GPRS being the slowest and 3G+ being the fastest. Don't think you can get it off.

hi the E stands for EDGE netowrk. it tells you all about it in the phone manual. It isn't anythong to worry about because my phone has had the E there since day 1

If you serf the internet on the J750 its very fast but as soon as you start downloading things its really slow. and depending on how fast you move around through the files etc. it can be VERY slow. if you are looking to buy this phone i advise you not to. its an AWESOME phone but only for a year and a half then everything slowly starts to brake and stop working...

this phone has everything you need in a phone, sure, you need to by a memory card if you want more memory, and you might need to download games if you want them, but overall, this phone is great. If you are having battery probs, thats because you didn't recharge it for the full 12 hours before you used it. I have no problems with anything so if u r, its ur fault!!!

I've had 4 of these in the past. for under $50 USD each unit, this is a steal. If your expecting lightning fast media capabilities, then look elsewhere I have Austrlian Optus prepaid ones which i debrand with east european firmware and I dont have any problems whatsoever.

I have a question. I bought my J750 about 10 months ago. Whereof 8 months of that I'm struggling to make and receive calls. 70% of the time it shows on the screen "limited services". to get messages on the phone, and not the sim you need to have the sim messages filled up, there is 30 spaces then the rest of the messages will go onto the phone. the sim message will have a sim card icon on them when you open the inbox.

I am not 100 percent sure but i think that u have not yet put the bluetooth visibility on yet. it's just my guess but go to settings/connectivity/bluetooth/my phones visibility and switch on. hope it helps u

ok people that want to save songs and stuff listen carefully. U need to format ur memory card but i will warn u it is very complicated and i have no idea how i did it. When u receive ur song or whatever u move to memory card but u have to have had it formatted. to access memory card files u go to my files and press the right hand side button not the one that looks like this - but the actual arrow. Overall this is a great fone and all those haters can go screw themselves

I bought this phone just the other day and i must say that it was SO cheap compared to other phones that look almost the same with one feature extra. So far i have found no problem with it, although i must add that i had to buy the extended memory because 8gb can only hold about 2 songs. i suggest you also get a phone case or sock to keep the phone unscratched =)

The J700 has less features, true, but apparently there is background MP3- playback...which the J750 doesn't have! Also, they can't call it a J600, because there IS already a J600. Check it out here... (Sorry it's in Dutch...but you see what I mean!!)

Ok..first off..MP3 Ringtones are achievable. Move your MP3 into the folder with all the midi files...then go through the profiles and such and select the Effect Tone...then PLAY the first Midi..When the Media PLayer comes up, just press back and it'll play the MP3...then select it. PRESTO! I've had this phone for over a week now and I love it..yet to get the cable and SD card but here's hoping. Stop ya whinging and put up the decisions you've made. End :)

J750 stores files transferred through Bluetooth in phone memory. There is no option to change to memory card. The only option you've got is to first move the files to memory card before resuming Bluetooth transfers to your phone.

Im so unhappy with my j750. I had problems with it since the day i bought it. Biggest mistake keeping it. It constantly reboots itself when u access gprs related features. Then u have 2 wait a minute 4 it 2 read ur memory card again. I was very disapntd! Its started freezing on me lately. Bat lyf abt 2days if u bearly use ur phne. I really believed in samsung before this phone. Wouldnt recommend it 2 anyone. Sorry.

Because that's the way it is.. the package contents for this model, doesn't include a USB cable. Some phones, like the lower-spec mid-range phones like J750, doesn't include a USB cable. It doesn't even have a memory card included. You'd have to buy them separately.

I have been using this phone now for a week and it ROCKS! It's simply the best handset I've used in years and I've sampled them all: Nokia communicators, Blackberry, even the Apple iPhone is not as user friendly, pretty and functional as this little star. The only way to get bigger files on to the memory card is to d/l the software mentioned earlier, connect the phone to the PC and transfer MP3s over to the card direct.. If you have a card reader for the card you can USB it.. I got one from ebay, cheap as chips..

Hi, I have just got this phone and am most upset as the calendar section allows limited entries. I use the calendar for everything that needs remembering as I am not one to keep a diary. Had this phone for about 9 months now. The specs aren't THAT bad, but not great either. Now I've owned a couple of Samsungs before, but THIS one is by far the worst of the lot. The battery barely lasts a few hours, the interface is irritably slow, and to top it all the phone reboots at random at least twice a day - whilst making calls!!! Not ALL Samsungs are bad though. But the J750 isn't worth the money. Honestly. I'd advise anyone to rather get a Nokia or SE. You'll have less hassles that way. Stay away from the J750! You have been warned.

Hey Yes this was soo annoying for us to. I queried this with Samsung, purely as I thought a phone this late in the mobile game would surely have the ability to bluetooth straight to the additional memory card, especially when the additional memory card has the on off bluetooth setting. But Samsung said NO you can not do it.. So to bluetooth you must have space on that tiny lil 8mg hand set memory, and 1 by 1 transfer them to your memory card..

I got it to work finally......I searched and searched, I found this link I clicked on the global d/l centre, and found my phone (j750), it then took me to this link I removed all other stuff from my puter, including the USB cable and phone.. Then I installed the USB driver 1st, then the PC Studio )which I got from the last link), I then plugged the USB cable and phone in, PC found the new hardware, found the files and connected to PC Studio.. To add music you go to the Multimedia Manager, then I chose to view my phone from the top right corner, searched for my sd card, then looked for music on my PC, and drag/ dropped waalaa..

first of all...for anyone thinking of buying this phone---> think again...i really regret buying it...i mean the specs loooked fantastic in theory but man, wen u start using it, ull hate it...the interface is reallly slow and even typing a message takes long. the screen is quite small, and not of very good image quality (ive got better on my old sharp gx25), 1.3 megapixel camera is not much wen compared to the technology available nowadays. so unless you have money to waste or unless they give u this mobile for free...pls do yourself a favour and run for your life!! Btw this phone is also useful if 3g internet and video calling is cheap in your country...in mine its way too expensive to use! A big sorrry to all the people out there who have purchased this phone already...and who are not happy with it like me...All i can say is...next time ill buy a NOkIA. no doubt about that!!

Your problem is more likely to be with Vista than with the phone. Its still early days for Vista and there are 1000's of glitches to sort out, never mind that lots of other formats support XP but not Vista.

The J750 is a good phone for someone that dont use a phone to its full capabilities. When you use it to full capabilities the phone restart under high usage. Yes, you can use MP3s as your ring tone. Just change it in the profiles section then select the MP3. You can do this even if its in the memory card.

I admit, the UI is taking a while to get used to - but it's a great basic device to keep in contact with the one's I love. It's nice and light, smooth and has some style. Personally, i havent really liked this phone since i bought it (and its the first phone i've ever bought) The main reason is because its plastic and it can break easy, not to say that i have broken it, just that its not very shock proof. I also havent been able to send files to it via USB.... i havent even found the USB port on the thing yet... so the only way i have put stuff on it is through the following process: Laptop to GPS (via usb cable) GPS to J750 (via bluetooth) which can be quite annoying oh and to the above comment on how to turn off the button sounds..... go to the menu > settings > phone profiles and click on normal or silent it got quite annoying listening to the sounds so i turned it off straight away maybe the next phone purchase i make will be a nokia or moto or maybe a frigin iphone if i have the money, but it probably wont be a samsung, unless it is quite different to this model.

Regarding your problem with the opening of mp3 files, this problem will occur if you have not formatted your memory card before saving files on it. My advise is that you format first your memory card(note: use your computer to format the memory card) only then that you can save mp3 files or jpeg files. With regards to connecting your phone to your computer, i suggest you to buy 3 things; 1. Micro SD card 2. Micro SD card reader and 3. USB card reader. Using those 3 is simple, just think of voltes 5 (if you know that anime thing)... if you want to know more about the features of your phone... email me at [email protected]

I feel proud to be the first to own a J750 phone. HOwever, it is letting me down despite it being a good phone. First, i have very few options to customize my message tone. How can i put my own? Secondly, i have a one gigabyte memory card but it misbehaves. Whenever i load mp3 music, it brings me an error that the file could not be found or invalid file. This makes me sick. REPLY TO: Can anyone tell me if there is anyway of downloading new message tones for this fone! I only have a choice of 4 really boring ones? Or if there are more on the phone? The solution is simple. Ringtones and calendar reminders can read mp3 files, but for some strange reason sms tones have to be midi files. All you have to do is place a midi file in your sound folder, go to settings - Phone Profiles. Select the profile to modify, go to the sms tones - change tone - use my alert tone and select the midi file.

as far as I know... Cell C does not do 3g yet. I am using a 2gig Micro card by Kingston and have not had any trouble as of yet. With regards to no being able to view videos made on a D900, the resloution is way to high for the J750. Download some free video editing softare and drop the res...

Im very happy with my phone, except for the fact that it does not have a function where i can play my mp3 player and go back to my main menu and fiddle with some other things. I find that Boring, because when you listen to music, you would like to do something else as well like with many other samsung mobile phones. I dont know y this particular model is like this or maybe im doing something wrong but i dont think so and the other fact that i dont like about the fone is that when you transfer something via bluetooth, it does not store to the memory card but to the fone then you always have to move and shift things around enable for you to create space for the new stuff. How does the J750 compare with the u700 i've had just about all Samsung models and wasn't a big fan of the u700 purely due to the sensative touch pad around the centra button but other than that it was a real winner connection speed is amazing.

Got the J750 here in SA over Xmas, and honestly has to be one of the best mobiles out there at the moment. 1st bought a nokia 3110 classic good phone but the screen was sub standard compared to other phones including the J750, in the same price range. very happy with my purchase, and my first samsung mobile phone : ))

If you want to take pictures get a real camera, like an EOS 400d or something...if you want a Gps buy a Garmin and if you want to listen to music buy an iPod. This is a phone not a camera, not a GPS, not an mp3 player that makes calls, it's afordable good looking and gets the job done. No problems so far...
