My blackberry pearl has a problem in loading in that it loads anytime when I receive a message,when someone calls to the point that I cannot receive the call. I used my BlackBerry 8110 for 18 months, and it was a brilliant phone. The only downsides are the Proprietary operating system is a let down at times, freezing often and it takes ages to boot! The camera with flash is of a good quality and the installation of BlackBerry Messanger is a bonus! Hey man u gotta activate the bluetooth and then set it on discoverable mode. Then once u dun dat, u gotta go to media and click options and say 'receive via bluetooth' and then send it from the other phones. Lemme knw if u wnt any further help.

Well to tell you the truth first i found it great but then... the charger just stopped working so i thought maybe it was just the chargers prob... after sometime even the USB charger stop.. i mean.. not that the usb cable is wrong or damaged.. but the phone wouldn't charge itself when connected to either of them... so basically i had to buy a desktop charger in order to charge the bat... in my opinion... don't buy this phone. cause if i would turn back it time i wouldn't go for blackberry

yes you can surf facebook and you an download a quick facebook application which is good, you can also you msn chat on this its a very handy little blackberry that you can use on the go but not the bulk of a big handset, the only down side is that the trackballs can wear out quick but you can replace these on line via ebay etc

Maybe you should trythe option "wipe handheld'it's kinda resetting the phone to it's original sttings. Go to óptions'then security options, click the trackball, general settings will appear click again and press the óptions button ( left side of the trackball) there the option "wipe handheld ' will appear, then follow the instructions.

hi forum, i have just bought a pearl 8110 (for my first BB experience!). the experience so far has been ok BUT for the media card. i have a 4 gb card in the phone, it is formatted. and the card support has been enabled. but neither is it detected as a mass storage device nor is it recognised by the media manager! if i remove the card and upload music / videos seperately, it work fine on the phone! (i have also changed the card drive no to "R" so that there is no conflict with the other drives of my computer) my phone is on version 4.5.0.55 (platform 2.7.0.68) and the desktop manager version is 4.3.0.17. is there a conflict? can some one please help me out?!!

Umm I got the bberry pearl for my birthdayand it's realy fun. I got it in India but my sim card is American so I still can't do much with it. I've only had it for about a week a d I can still say that it's really fun. My opinions will probably change later but I definetly reccomend the pearl for it's size and amazing screen quality. The music player is also Amazing.

you can't put a signature for sms due to character limitation. you can only use 160 characters and if you go over the limit then it's considered as 2 sms. even if you are willing to pay the price, signature for sms is still not allowed. it's a product/feature limitation but you can put signature for email.

I haven't had very good luck with my Blackberry. The first one I bought, I had to send back because the tracking ball stopped working (there was not any water damage - and I had not dropped the phone either). The second phone they sent me just started going haywire and when I press the tracking ball the letter x and the number 7 pop up and I can not dial out, take calls or text. The call button simply doesn't work and the other buttons - when pressed bring up random numbers and letters. Again, this phone has not had any water damage and has not been dropped either. This phone was expensive, and I really don't want to have to go through the process of getting another new phone. I am thousands of miles away from home, and I specifically bought this phone so that I would not have any problems staying in contact with my family. I figured it would be reliable, but so far it has not. The AT&T stores have told me that I have to wait for AT&T to send me a new phone, so that means I don't have access to a phone until they send me one. Any suggestions??

This is a very good basic PDA for users who are mainly focused on business productivity such as emails and such. As far as third-party applications and the "leisure activities" this phone is lacking the interface for that type of interface. Operating system is very basic and easy to use which i think is a very good feature for this device. Speaker works exceptionally well and the reception on this device is what you would expect from a Blackberry. Multimedia features are very lacking, and the operating sytems is sub-par. Overall, I think this is a very good device for the business minded individual, this is not recommended for the multimedia-packed youngsters that need a bunch of features in a phone to make them happy.

My opinion for a cost of 70 � is pass, for a good phone with some utility well only for the gps if you have a 3d application with the offline maps and is working good if not pff. Not worth to buy this model for the price what they have put on it.

Hi mate. Go to videos -> all videos -> Receive using Bluetooth. Then send some file to that blackberry. It will ask you if you want to accept data transfer. Choose YES and tick "Remember my answer"(or something like that".

Hi!!! all you have to do receive a song or any contant via bluetooth is by; step 1)enable blue tooth from you perl and enable blue tooth from your other hanset. Step 2)open Media > song or video or picture > go option > select "Receive file". Then your perl will be searching for the media file( please respond quickly). Step 3)Send the file from your other hanset to your perl. Step 4)Accept the file from your perl. Step 5)Type confermation password Step 6)file will be received. after receiving the file you have to save in you prefered place.

I really like mine. I've had it since July and it seems really tough. I havent abused it though just accidental dropping. The camera isnt that good but it does have memory card slot that you can add MP3's or what ever. Hope this helps

Right, ive now had this phone for 3 days. i thought the keyboard would take some getting used too. after 10 minutes, i had it. this is the first "feature phone" ive ad. and its fantastic, it looks brilliant, and does everything i want and more. by the end of the 1st day, after it had fully charged, i had yahoo messenger on it, windows live messenger, and facebook, and myspace, and added 2 email accounts to it. some hotmai.com / hotmail.co.uk address dont work, some do, i was lucky i alrady had two different ones, my main one didnt work, my old one did. so just changed my facebook and myspace email to my old one, so that all status updates and messages would come through to my phone. absolutly fantastic phone. there is nothing i wouldchange about this phone at all. bloody brilliant. any questions. get back to me!

I have had this phone a year and 3 months. It is RUBBISH. Seriousl,y everything is real slow because it has so many applications, the lock doesn't work and bluetooth doesn't work. The only good thing I can think of is that it takes good pictures, but everything else is BULL. Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your money on a phone which hardly works, is very confusing and all in all is a waste of �250 odd quid. It will dissapoint.

I own a BB 8110 and it shoots reat pictures and DOES MAKE VIDEO's as well .so I dont get it where r u coming from U might be refring to the BB PEARL but the BB Pearl 8110 has the Video option. check it its a good one. Oh and about the AUDIO quality well it may not be as good as my iPod but it does come in second choice for me its better than the Npkia Express Music series. well again thats my opinion. I used the Sony Ericson and well its sound quality is good especially the base comes in real cool. But try the original headphones that come with 8110 they r cool. the base comes in real fine and the Audio Jack is a standard one so you may use it with any regular head gear of your choise. Remember the sound quality also depend on the head phones quality. Other than this the BB Pearl 8110 Rocks. NEGATIVES: well I cant use it with regular GPRS only BB services only :(

I made the mistake of replacing my 8100 with this 8110. Other than the good (video, voice memo), it's much worse than the 8100. I cannot transfer other applications I had on the old pearl. And the worst part, I am now tied to At&T for another two years. Bad, bad, bad.

This is a grate phone, i have mine with t-mobile, (8 months). battery life is amazing, the picture quality is grate you can take a picture and email it in 8 seconds if the email address is already in your contacts info. the screen resolution is excellent, the bad things about this phone are that it the camera does not record videos, you can download and watch videos with grate quality but you can not shoot one, and the music player is really bad, for example if you are listening to a song, you cant go back to the play list while you are listening to the song, the song stops, (i know it's not an ipod but SonyEricsson's phones do it) the volume for the earphones is very poor too. if you are looking for a phone to play your music i would not recommend it, in my opinion is the best phone i ever had, you got a lot of useful applications on it and there are hundreds to download(maps, weather, entertainment etc)

blackberrys have standard models eg the 8100, the 8110 is the same but with GPS and the 8120 is the same but with WI-FI. Theres is a "30" range but to be honest im not to sure what they do different, hope this helps.

Dude ! Forget about getting any better service in Hyderabad. BlackBerry is new for this city and its rare too. Video recording would work if you have a micro SD in the slot. Mine gives decent battery back up. I am good for two days. Make sure you are not using continuous GPS or any other application (such as web browser) Good luck with your pearl, I am relishing mine

i have 8110 and wanted the color pearl app. but i downloaded it to my phone and it said it only works for the 8100. There is only the white light for the trackball but the LED has many colors. the app. "pimp my pearl" will allow you to do stuff with the LED for the 8110 but its not free.

There is no proper service center in Hyderabad. Battery back up is not more than 2 hrs talk time. Video option is not working since begining. Only loaded videos thru blue tooth is working.

I thought that the track ball had something to do with downloading... but it keeps saying that its only available on the bb pearl 8100... but the sales lady, unless she is a complete idiot, said that I could get it for this version (bb pearl 8110). Also, I'm having a difficult time finding out where I insert the sandisk in the back. I'm getting so frustrated with this silly phone. Thanks for all your help!

To Change the color of the trackball you download the software onto the Blackberry from the software disc that comes with it... I think you could even download it from crackberry.com.au

You'll want to show all applications and go to the icon with the movie tape and music note. Its called Media. in that option, you'll be able to choose from music, videos, ringtones, pictures, and recorder!

You may purchase a case with a magnet insert that tells the phone to turn off. We got one and it does work. I guess you can add your own magnet to try it out first.

There is a cursor (hour glass) on the screen which delays every information which comes including calls to the phone. Also unable to cut off calls which comes in.

you can only view docs when they are sent as attachments. And you will not be able to modify any doc at all ( inc spreadsheets etc.) Even though it allows you to transfer a doc onto the mem card.

I've had the 8110 for round about a month now...I loved it at first, but there are quite a few fundamental things that I highly dislike. The main one is the ridiculously small amount of internal memory - yes, it has a memory card, but unfortunately this isn't taken into consideration. If you go below 2MB the device kindly deletes every incoming text message or email without telling you! The email facilities are, in reality, no more sophisticated than what I had on my old k800i - I could set that to send/receive every 5 mins to keep me updated on my emails. Another problem with the lack of memory is that you cannot view every email you have received that day - it is limited to 4 or 5, so as not to 'take up space'. This is completely ridiculous in this day and age - even the tiniest mp3 players have more memory than this! I love the looks, the shape and most of the other features - but I have to say that as soon as the SE G900 comes out is June, the Blackberry is going on Ebay!

Proper software to synch / backup device on computer unlike the unreliable nokia nonsense Real native push email not available elsewhere. Theses are handsets your company gives you because you need them for your job. If your phone purchase comes out of your pocket and is about desire and entertainment walk into a mobile shop and get a consumer device from anyone else. I dont try to compare the aesthetics, performance or ergonomics of an APC and a Lexus. If one is better for you its because the criterion you judge on are different. I have been using the 8110 for about 2 months now and definitely prefer it over my old 8100 and even the 8310 I was using for several weeks in between. It is much faster and more responsive than the 8110 and I find the keys are easier to use than the very small qwerty keypad on the 8310. The ability to remove the media card without pulling the device apart is also very welcome as these things take more than a minute to start from fully off. It's also nice to finally have the ability to take videos rather than just still photos (although you get that feature in the 8310 with a free software upgrade).

When the PDA was lunched in the Nigerian market, everyone(yes!!! I admit even I too)was persuaded into thinking its the GRAND MASTER of PDA's that has been rolled out to give us a digital say, sadly however, we discovered that really not all that glitters is precious(BLACKBERRY),nontheless sha for those of us that has sunk in great sums of money into buying this famed device for our families and ourselves,discovered that it was a waste the very moment you powered it on. I MEAN WHO WOULD MAKE A PDA WITHOUT A MEMORY CARD SLOT, NO WLAN, NO RADIO, NO 3G, NO GPRS and the list is endless(it will end eventually,but cyber community, you get the point).Now for Pearl 8110, the major thingS it has going for it are EDGE and GPRS.Wouldn't but it and if given as a liability, em!! I mean gift, I would us it as a door wedge. Don't take my word for it, buy it and see for yourselves.

Blackberry doesn't need 3G, 3G is for fast internet services... Blackberry's only ever send packet data in 2kb sizes (very small) 2G is perfectly fine for that. RIM are not looking to create mobiles with 3G unless they have no other choice such as in places like japan where there is no 2G network

I have used the 8100 for around 18months. This is a fantastic phone & email & pda device. Sorry, the pointless comments above about 'for people who think..' is obvoiusly from someone who hasn't used the phone or doesn't have any need for a device with such abilities. The suretype keyboard gets a bad press - unjustly. Once you're used to it, it is easily as quick as using a full sized keyboard never mind a full qwerty Blackberry. Having recently also got a Nokia E51 as a second/back up phone - initial impressions are that the Pearl is soo much better, able and easier to use. The 8120 is supposed to have an improved suretype application, which can only make it even quicker. Ok the camera is not great quality and 3G would improve an already excellent if occasionally slow browser. As a Business phone - the Pearl is great, as a toy for the consumer, you wont appreciate its abilities.
