Well, it comes loaded with bloatware and there's no chance it will ever see an update from BLU. Having said that, there IS a pretty nice Cyanogen ROM for it, but given the current level of price competition for better-than-this-one Android phones, why bother?

The Blu Energy Plus IS what it is. I've had it for two years. The specs are far from great. I find it slow. Battery is reliable for a good day's use. It can be some glitchy at times. It is very solidly built. The GPS IS TERRIBLE. Don't rely on it. It loses contact with GPS while you're traveling. Blu makes some good phones but it is very inconsistent. They have problems. No more for me.

Personally I love the Blu Energy x plus. It's colorful and looks like the iPhone 7 and it looks expensive. I love the different themes and icon especially the icon looking like the iPhone. But I have some problems: 1.Why only the messaging and call icon has unread badges 2.Why can't all the social medias have unread badges 3.why whenever you download an app; if its a green color app,why do the edges around it have to be yellow or another color for example "Whatsapp" I believe if the app color is red the edges should also be the same I will like to see the next wireless updates blu energy x plus has it should be this problems But over all blu energy x plus is a lovely phone It so cuteeeeeeeeeee.

This was my first Blu phone and definitely my LAST!! In less than 3 months this phone became USELESS!! The WiFi wont stay 'on', it won't read my sim card anymore, Bluetooth won't work, camera won't work & when I put in my headphone the music plays loudly (outside the headphone) I was skeptical at first towards switching to Blu because of the bad things I heard, took the jump regardless & now I'm phone-less. To each his own ?

Well, once you get rid of the Chinese Malware and the rest of the bloat in the build, it's not bad, but you have to root the phone to do that, so say "adios" to your warranty. There IS a (unofficial) CyanogenMod 12.1 build for it, which turns it into a much more useful device. In my personal experience, BLU just doesn't get it when it comes to service and support. I am keeping mine as a backup phone. The battery DOES last an incredibly long time.

I've been using blu energy x plus for over a month now and honestly its far most the best I've seen and the first i've ever used. Never tried any other, didn't want or like any other blu, besides this. It's a good phone for those who don't expect anything much like me for one. I need the basics and that's it, anything more and i'd use a computer. Its a phone, not a computer mind you, so if it lags, if the data drops or be it any other reason, it just may not be the phone, could be the users. For its price, its not bad at all! WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT BUY THIS PHONE!It is a horrible piece of shhhhht that hardly fkn works. List of problems: - GPS does not work at all! Tried other applications other than Google Maps and still had no signal or gps signal would drop in and out(for 30 second increments) - does NOT recognize external storage - SNAPCHAT (one of the most beloved apps of our generation) hardly works, everything lags, videos are legit at 5 seconds per frame, ridiculously fkn lagged - the camera is shhhhht - AUX import does not work! I had to download a fkn app that I have to turn on and off every time I plug it into an auxiliary port.. - the 1 gig of RAM makes the phone literally unfuncuntional.. Conclusion: Don't waste your money, horrible phone that can't do the basic things you need it to. Made me late for an interview because the GPS just stopped working completely. I am getting a new phone, don't trust other reviews seriously, I have had this phone for a year now and am constantly frustrated, almost wish the company would SEND ME A NEW PHONE OR DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I used this phone for a couple of months. I love the battery life and with lollipop this phone is pretty smooth in operation. The only thing I don't like is the 1 gig of RAM. I currently bought a Samsung J7 (2015 model) and it has 1.5 gigs of RAM. BLU is coming out with 1.5 gig models and some 2 gig and up at a good price. Anything over 2 gigs and their phones get expensive. I still use this phone when at home on Wi-fi and still would use for a backup phone. I does lag. I do all I can to keep the RAM clean but it still lags. Like all the BLU phones I've owned the lag is worth the price. You really can't beat these phones for the price. I would always recommend getting a phone with that little bit extra RAM or at least 2 gigs, to me it makes a huge difference. In all BLU makes solid phones for the money, but you always get what you pay for.

This phone came out in July, it's almost a year old, not one upgrade has this phone seen, the OS is old outdated has memory leak, and doesn't mirror on Chromecast due to having crappy Android 5. The phone needs to be upgraded to at least Android 5.1 to fix the memory leak, and Chromecast problems, which Blu knows about yet refuses to upgrade phone. Google has stated many times Android 5 needs to be upgraded to Android 5.1 to fix known memory leaks and security issues, yet Blu refuses to do so.

Please download and install Photo Editor version 2.1.0_0518 size 6.18mb from play store. It has red squared icon with four oval shaped circles put together. After installing the app pls select the picture, click on options and select set wall paper. Then select complete using photo editor. After selecting you will find options at the top (lock screen only, wallpaper, or both) then finally you can select lock screen only.

Go into settings, go on "sound and notifications" . You'll see a 'setting'next to general, click on it, and go to 'ringtone'.. There they will have a variety of ringtones, scroll to the top til you see "more ringtones'.. Click on it and select your personal ringtone.

It's a really good phone 8 In games it lags rarely. The battery lasts a full day with very heavy usage. The only complaint is the charging speed is really slow.

I've had this phone for 2 weeks now and i believe is a really good phone, it works perfectly for facebook, whatsapp, spotify, instagram and clash of clans at the same time.. that's basically the things that i need in my phone.. battery life is like awesome with heavy use it lasts for 2 days, the con.. the volume is really slow but i fixed it using an app that is called boost volume.. The camera well is good enough.. at least for the price we can not expect more but it takes decent pictures if you have very good light.

I heard really good comments about this model, despite of the bad reviews of the brand, actually I have a Blu Windows Jr phone, and for the price, the phone works great, I just ordered this Blu energy plus, and I think it will be great, a friend of mine has this phone and he says that the phone's battery lasts 2 days with heavy use, like the user above states. I hope to give the same positive feedback for this device.

When you swipe the lock screen, don't swipe sideways like a Samsung. Swipe straight up towards the top of the phone it doesn't activate the keypad if you do it this way.

I have doubt about the phone. I just bought it a few weeks ago and at the moment it is working quite good but i noticed a problem on the phone and it is with the 3.5mm jack. When i use the headphones or a 3.5mm jack to connect the phone to an external speakers it doesn't work properly. The phone speakers still sounding but there's no audio output. I imported this phone to Australia. I should have known what to expect by buying a cheap phone. It worked fine for a month then the antenna completely stopped picking up the cellular network. I tried different sim cards and nothing has worked. I tried factory reset and still I have the same problem. I must have gotten a faulty product. Also it will cost me an arm and leg to send it back to Blu that is even if they are willing to accept it back. Then I'm sure I would have to pay to receive it back. This phone will go in the trash and I will just buy a more expensive known brand since they most likely won't be faulty.

I bought the Blue Studio a bit of a old version. I've had it for 1 and a half years since last week. It has been soaking wet dropped stepped on and eaten on. I passed it to a friend to use. So far my review of it is excellent. I listen to music 99% of the time while longboarding works for days without dieing got rid of my Ipod. It's has a massive lasting battery life. Good for the people who don't have charges ever haha. I'm basic when it comes to phones all I need is a nice looking playable music and easy access to calling phone. This fulfills all my needs. My tablet is used for games of course. #BestBuyEver I'm currently going to be using a Blu Energy X Plus. My expectations are the same music and easy calling and a nice looking durable phone. I'm sure I'll be very impressed.

@BLU PRODUCTS SUPPORT Can you provide full update not OTA, your current OTA are causing problems, full roms don't cause problems only OTA updates cause problems, many people are reporting corrupts systems after trying to update via OTA, please provide full rom update, that can be flash via flash tool, you can use needarom, most people are currently using to fix the damage your OTA has caused.

I use straight talk and my phone shows 4G, the phone can only goes as high as the card you insert. This phone does indeed work with 4G, if I am in 4G coverage area, some areas are only 3G, not phone's fault, that is straight talks fault.

I have rooted mine, built twrp recovery, and bought a nice leather flip case for it from ebay. This phone runs smooth does everything I need it to do, I use straighttalk works great on this phone.

Have had this phone now for a week. Very impressed. The screen res is superior to the Studio Energy of old. Performance is better whether opening apps or games, no lag to speak of. Body of phone is very solid and feels light compared to Studio Energy. Best phone I believe in this price range.
