well, i read all the comments and i cant believe, i have since 2014 whit my studio 5.5 and this shit still working well, it is a mistery because my wife has used 2 blu cell phones and that phones was a piece of crap , i dont remeber the models only one i think is blu life or live but really sucks and my studio 5.5 still working and i use that shit all day, the battery needs to reload each 20 hours but the rest of the functions are ok.

When I bought my BLU Studio 5.5 I loved the way it looked and worked on WI FI and took pictures BUT I cannot make it work with my h2O service. So, I am paying each month for a phone that will not connect to my service. Even tried different SIMS but still no phone service even though it is set up and am told that it is working. I agree. I purchased the BLU studio 5.5 in December 2015. The screen freezes, it reboots and I only have 8 GB of storage. It is such a disappointment. I wanted to buy a phone made in the U.S. now I wished I had purchased a Samsung. Stay awayfrom the BLU cellphones, not worth it!

I purchased my BLU 5.5 Studio in December 2015 and shortly after, it started turning off for no apparent reason and the screen would freeze. Sometimes I have to remove the battery and restart the phone. Very disappointed with this cellphone. It's my first and last BLU cell phone. I wanted to purchase a phone made in the United Sates but now I wish I had purchased a more expensive phone, i.e., Samsung. There is no notification light when messages arrive. If I had to redo the purchase I would not buy a BLU cellphone. Stay away from them, they have issues and it's just not worth it. Looking for a replacement for this phone and it will NOT be a BLU purchase. I have learned my lesson.

I bought myphone in 2015 had to send it in to get it repaired, the phone died and never came back on. so it took them til january and three calls demanding my phone before I got it back. so they gave me a new phone because mine was repairable. oh no! so the new one came in january 2016 and now it is not charging and it get stock on screens. I have also had the same issue. The initial ram memory of 1gb is not utilizing the external memory. You will probably have to unlock the phone to be able to remove the stock apps that came with the phone. This will probably also enable you to fully utilize the memory card.

sorry guys i must have the only blu studio 5.5c that works like a dream i got it in 2015 and never had a minute of trouble with, the battery life is great i charge once a week for a full charge or just use the car charger when ever i remember to do so i have to say for the money i found it well worth it im in the military so it gets a lot of abuse and its never let me down i will be upgrading to the newest blu phone when im back in the states for a visit .....well done blu great phone.....

I bought this phone in 2015 and I only used it for like a week or two... Then a lot of pop ups began.. Xxx pop ups, I don't even watch those stuff.. Its says this has stopped working and that has stopped working. It freezes, this white dot comes up on the middle, left side of the screen and the whole screen dims. It's ridiculous because I had to pay a lot to get this device. And up to now it hasn't said that the OS can be updated.. I don't enjoy browsing on the phone. but when I put my sim card on my modem, I am able to browse. I expected that browsing would be smooth and fast, because the phone can accept up to 4G network; unfortunately, I am not getting that result.

Do not buy a Blu phone! When I bought my phone in July, I loved it. It was easy to use and I like the size, but soon it started having issues with downloads, memory, dual sim card would not work. Finally in October the power button broke so I asked to get a new phone. The company phone operators were nice enough, but the service was horrible. I mean HORRIBLE! I waited over a month to get a replacement phone which is a grade down from the one I had. I just needed a phone so badly I accepted it. It is not worth the low cost so go with something more proven, pay the higher price for peace of mind and better service.

Within about 7 or 8 months my screen started flickering and it gets hot after minimal use. I have an almost empty SD card but I can't download or update apps because it says I don't have enough internal storage. I would stay away from this phone, maybe the brand entirely.

The phone itself is okay if you only wanna talk and text.. Certain apps do not have the option of being updated... My problem came in using snapchat, my camera wasn't working and neither was my flashlight... I held the power button & volume up button at the same time... I cleared the cache under both of the settings listed & my phone is back working... Front camera is horrible by the way...

i own this phone and i am very satisfied with it's performance.calling is good,hspa and hspa+ is shown when browsing,internet speed is good,wifi is good,the screen resolution might be 178 but you have to actually see images yourself and you will see how clear they are,i was pleasantly surprised.the viewing angle is also very good even though it is not ips,the rear camera although only 5mp takes very good pics,and the front camera although vga is good also,i have used other vga front cam phones and this one is good,the camera flash is good too,i am not a gamer but i downloaded an offroad driving app and although the app took about a minute to load it played well with no lags when started,the gps also is good,i use here maps and navigator with no problems,and though it is not stated in the specs here,this phone has a digital compass built in.all in all great bang for low bucks.

Currently, on a similar device, if there is more than 32GB free on 64BG SD Cards some write actions fail. It can also cause 'insufficient space errors' while installing apps via Google Play Store, due to the write errors. The solution, so far, has been to add 32GB+ of data via PC, to fill some of the space (but even then TiBu can't backup apps). It's a silly issue, and only a 90% fix, but hopefully BLU fixes the issue someday with an update.

So far so good. This phone is faster than my Samsung Galaxy 3 and voice quality is better also. I think this phone is the best bargain in cell phones out there. The only issue I had was setting up MMS photo messages. It would not work. I called Straight Talk customer service and they gave me the correct settings to type in and everything is fine. I was told since this an unlocked phone the APN setting has to be manually set.

Greetings. Several issues with my phone, although a great price...Main thing is since I got it, it gives me an overvoltage message when charging, on ANY outlet. This is a concern as I am not always with the phone when charging, what if I am not there when it gives this message and I dont disconnect? :( Anything issue is that I have wallpapers and themes, keyboard themes...when I restart or turn phone off, it resests everything. Its a a pain :( The time also resets, and if I am not connected to wifi, the time stays wrong until I am get connected...never had a phone do this, even cheap $20 phones have the correct time always, whether phone shuts off, restarts, or not on wifi. And if this isnt annoying enough...it does not show an indicator that it is charging...I have to constantly check the phone to see if still charging..I see where there is an indicator where it should ligh up, but it does not :( Anyone have these same issues, and if so, know how to fix any? too late to send back to where I bought it :( Thanks to anyone for any help! :)

This is one of the BEST possible phone deals in the world. The phone is awesome and functions as well or better than the other androids I've had. The price was crazy - $125 on amazon and threw a $15 32gb card in it that I can then take out and put in my computer for instant picture work. The camera works perfect and the battery life is awesome. I have the 5.5 and my wife has the 6.0 - both are excellent and I'm likely to stay with BLU phones. We originally got the 6.0 as a "test" to see if my wife wanted to buy a Galaxy Note. When she realized that it already had a larger screen than the Note and works just as well - she decided to stay with it. My HTC X-one was always great, but really isn't as good as the 5.5 The OS and interface are also improved. I strongly recommend.

This phone is one of the best I've ever had. It is big, as well as easy to use. The biggest cons are that when it overheats, the screen flickers, or at least mine does. It also has small storage, but other than that the phone is great. For a starter phone, it is durable, and reliable.

Decent phone, definitely a budget piece but fairly functional. Only reason I am here is to check out the ram speed since MKX mobile will require 1 gigabyte of RAM. Was surprised to hear it has that :D and for anyone complaining about the space I recommend buying an SD card, rooting the phone and with lucky patcher toggle "Move updated and installed apps to SD card" on. It should clear up some issues :) running a 16 gig card right now and I don't have many issues with space.

Turn it off and it may resolve this The charger is no good. I use a newer high speed micro USB and it charged faster and lasted longer Make sure you have your sim card in slot one if your having MMS text issues This phone will not have 4g speeds with T-Mobile. Its not fully compatible with there frequency I have dropped this phone a few times and it's good but you can't count on any phone to take too many drops or a bad one. And the screen is easily scratched so use the protector included. The newest 6" phone from blu looks to be the best yet. I hear bad things about the 7" like dead pixels, dual core, and low RAM and ROM. The Studio 5.5 is good but not ideal for a lot of game apps if any. It can run most okay but it can't store them and being stuck on an old android os makes some apps non downloadable. Go blue if they can get the 4g working right They will be one to watch

After formatting a new 64GB SD card on my brand new Studio Energy, and setting my app install location to "removable SD card" I get an error every time that says there is not enough space. Once your contact list is open, I usually start at the "ALL" tab so it shows all my contacts. Now tap on the big "+" (plus sign) at the bottom center of the screen. The phone will want to know where you wish to store this contact at. I choose "Phone" because I have no desire to keep this contact associated with my gmail account. Now give the contact a name, I gave mine something like (zz blacklist). This way it is at the very bottom of my contact list and I don't have to look at it much. Now you can finally start putting in those pesky numbers that you want to block. Keep adding until you are done. Keep tapping "+ Add new" after each number. You can ignore the "mobile,home,work,other" tags that the phone adds in front of each number. After your numbers are typed in don't forget to tap the "Save" button on the top right of the screen. Now to tell the phone to block the numbers in this list. Tap on the settings icon either the three vertical dots on the bottom right of the screen or the settings button on the bottom left of the phones face - button that is next to the "Home" button. On the pop up menu that shows, it should say "Block incoming calls directly" at the bottom. Tap that to add the little check-mark in the box. With that check mark you are more or less done, press the home button and go back to you normal life. Later on if you wish, you can go back to the contact list, tap on the "zz blacklist" to open that contact, and now tap on the pencil icon to add more numbers to block. The phone will just keep adding the "other" tag to each new number. Tap on "save" like before and make sure that check mark is still there. Remember: you can scroll the list of numbers inside that contact list (if you had added alot of them) by simply sliding your finger on the right side of the screen. There is a hidden scroll bar there. Keep scrolling until you can see the "+ Add new" at the bottom of the list. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Some update made this device confused on what it should use for screen composition. CPU or GPU. Ridiculous issue. I've tried everything as a Root user to fix it. Developer options unchecks itself for certain options after you check options. The device changes its own settings to battery saving mode. Was a amazing root user device. Now its garbage.

I Call called Blu Technical Support(quick good service), i called my provider, i even switched providers but nothing made it work. Let me start by saying that that I have purchased 4 Blu phones and for the price of the phones, they are a great deal. But that is where the deal ends. The Blu Dash phones for only $125 is one of the best deals on the market, and for the most part, the few inconveniences� were acceptable to put up with considering the price. That is, until they sent a software update in December. That update for the Blu Dash phones partitioned the internal drive into an internal & phone drive. Now, all the apps that came on the phone take up so much of the phone drive that it seriously limits the amount of apps you can run and download. I also, for myself, bought a Blu View phone for $275. This was, a year ago, was one of their best phones with a good processor, camera, and 13 gigs of storage, good battery time, and a 5.7� HD screen that was just beautiful, etc. But alas, the Blu View phone was not what it seemed. I have returned it 3 times already and had it replaced. Only to get another Blue View phone with the same problem. Right from the onset, the storage was a problem on the Blu View phone. Only 1 Gig in the phone storage. I could not download Facebook or any other application that used a lot of memory because there was no room. When I tried to download these programs onto the Blu View phone, things like my email stopped working. Then there was also an issue with Bluetooth connectivity. It worked sporadically. Finally they sent me a Blu View phone that at least connected. After a week it stopped connecting to any of my Bluetooth devices. But here is the biggest problem with Blu phones. No customer service. They just want me to keep sending the phone back at my expense and send me another of the same model Blu phone. They will not acknowledge problems with the Blu View phones and most importantly, they will not replace it with a differ phone. All they were willing to do is give me a few dollars credit on a differ model! This phone is worth the money where as the galaxy5 or note range in the 400$-500$ this phone is affordable and not to mention, does just as much as Samsung phones.. Might not have many options to change fonts or themes but that's what Google play store is for. Its a good phone only downside its front facing camera is low quality but who cares the back is 5.0 mega and it has panorama and options like Samsung offers. Don't have a single issue downloading things or sending pictures. I can video call people like on the iPhone. I mean common, its worth it!!!

Burnt. Something on them . etc then it will not work because the SD card is damaged

Sounds like you were trying to root the phone and it broke the phone instead. I had that happen to me once, too. You'll have to find a way to have the damaged file or files replaced. The best place to start will be with the manufacturer. Tell them that a download broke the OS somehow and could they pleas provide you with either some tools or a referral to a reputable source to fix it for you. Best of luck. And don't download anything unless it comes from a valid, clean source. I learned the hard way.

I purchased a Galaxy Note II and used it for 1yr before cracking the screen. (Nothing harsh it fell with no force 2ft flat on the face in a dual plastic/silicone protection case) Instead of fixing screen I bought a BLU studio 5.5 physically 99% identical. 1. The Gorilla glass of the Note II is good I am sure but this damage is what I would have expected from an econo purchase. My New BLU 5.5 is slippery and yes it did a tumble from about the same height and the funny thing was it 'sounded' well built i had no doubt that it was not damaged before looking at it - amazing since it was half the cost of my note II. BLU is more responsive, when i click on something it happens on the BLU plus the side buttons are not sunk but not in the way or are pressed by accident. Now I did install KKlauncher on my noteii that may have slowed reaction times down but there is a definite edge to the BLU for everyday apps (phone,contacts,email,messaging) - tru GPS apps are slightly slower but hardly noticable. I kept the BLU factory ROM because it worked so well. Almost all around I was happy with the BLU Studio 5.5 model to replace my note ii but here are the difference I give winning comparison to the noteII things that mattered most to me: 1. Screen is more color realistic/true on the NOTEII 2. Brightness of the display is better OUTDOORS 3. Speaker mode is louder and refined on the NOTEII, but the BLU is very good too. 4. A pen on the NOTE II - i have used 4 times last yr 5. Out of the box, The NOTE II network conectivity is more constant, the BLU took some configuring to make it well but in the end it was just as good after tweaking it. Note though there are very few types of cases for it - many colors but all basically same molds and they are not that good i was thinking of getting a generic folder carrying case as the others are mainly plastic cheap and slippery. oh and I have used a microcenter 32gb and 16gb SD class 10+ card with no issues for running apps or storing data and playing music.

BLU is a new product but certain things never change mathematics with that being said flickering normally means there's a problem in the circuitry or mother board or virus of some sort causing what is known as glitches could be a factory defect or possible present damage or just simply a bad make if possible I would return for refund or exchange or if u have a good tech handy have it looked at and hopefully he can find maybe a poor connection point on the motherboard.... ttips: I don't believe they meant ROM, which you are correct about FYI. The Blu Studio 5.5 comes with 4GB of Internal memory, which is read/write. Think of it as a permanently fixed SD Card. It's not Physically changeable without some serious know-how, yet Programs and apps stored on it can be updated and changed.

Folks, How many of you understand the inference of the memory spec on the 5.5 as given: Memory Card slot microSD, up to 32 GB Internal 4 GB ROM, 1 GB RAM I'm not a phone expert but my experience with computers tells me the operating system and most of the application's that come standard with the system are "fixed" and cannot be upgraded or "repaired" when bugs come to light. There are some types of "ROM" memory that can be "re-written" but I don't know for sure what this phone can or can't do. There are great advantages to using "ROM" to hold the static programs but it would normally require swapping out the ROM to make any changes to that part of the "Firmware". As long as they got everything right the first time this isn't a problem but I've not seen that happen too often. (Actually never). All that said, and worried about, I like most of what I see so far and am leaning toward purchasing the phone. If anyone knows of whence I speak please give me divine guidance. (Tends to take people with God like wisdom to know much about this area.)

Actually, you need to slide (or push) down the silver SD slot cover and then carefully lift it open. Once the card is seated, you reverse the motion (close the little flap and then push up to snap it back into place). It's the same as with the Blu Studio 5.3S if memory recalls. I think they could have done it easier. the 5.5 model is much easier for SD installation IMHO.

Answer the phone when it rings and you have the option to select the speaker button. or if your are going to be driving go into settings scroll down to audio files and select drive ring. when the phone rings it will automatically answer the call without you touching anything and the speaker will be activated by itself.

I really like this phone because of the large screen, quad core, its smooth and fast, I paid 187.00 and tax at brand smart, put a 4 gig memory card in it, I'm running it on T-Mobile prepaid, $70.00 for unlimited everything, the screen quality is not as great as most high end phones nor is the camera, but I'm very happy overall with this phone, I really like it. "4G" (or Faux G as I am fond of calling it) is the biggest bunch of marketing bull crap I've seen in a while, purposely worded to confuse customers. To keep it brief and simple (which it actually is, truth be told) "4G" (including LTE) refers to a couple of concepts: 1) Data download speed capacity of the phone and 2) the specific bands the phone supports. Generally, a phone with a download speed >= 21Mbps download speed (HSPDA) is classified as "4G" (which as another poster noted can show up as 3.5G or H+). However, whether that phone will get those speeds on YOUR network depends on the bands involved and how congested that network is. For example, the BLU Studio 5.5 D10A supports 850/1900 with HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 11 Mbps. That phone would probably show "H+" as the connection speed (effectively 4G). HOWEVER, unless you are on a thoroughly refarmed T-Mobile network, that could easily drop to 3G or 2G because, again, the 1900 band is the only compatible band that this phone has. So, just because a phone technically has 4G capacity does not mean you will automatically get those speeds in reality.

Who is your service provider? The BLU Studio 5.5 D10A has bands that are made for AT&T 4G/3G (assuming you are in the United States). Please check your provider's cell phone bands for cell data and make sure those are compatible with the phone you've purchased. Also make sure your phone's network settings are correct.

I see a lot of you have issues, now going in.....Most of the blu devices have HSPA+ in them aka 3G+ or 4G but most wont get it due to the wrong bands....tmobile has HSPA+ in 1900 but only in the same areas that they have 1700 LTE...they did both upgrades at the same time 1700 LTE and 1900 HSPA+....so if you have a studio 5.5 which is 850/1900 or 850/2100 you will only get 4G speeds while in an overlayed 1900 HSPA+ area...besides that EDGE...Blu is working to make more devices that work with 1700 HSPA+......I love blu phones....any questions facebook us at U.P.Wireless LLC...13 years+ experiences with GSM phones and all networks

I've owned this device for about 3 months and I love it! Right now the OS is sick on 4.2.1 with no Kitkat upgrade on the horizon unless you root it and install a custom rom (I highly recommend doing this). Now, if you're looking for 4G speeds, you might want to look at another Blu device, preferably the "Life" Line, you might achieve 4G speeds. The box does boasts 4G speeds; but you're only getting HSPA or HSUP; Edge/2G will be the norm for this puppy and yes days download are equivalent to dial-up. Before you actually purchase this device, make sure the frequency matches up to T-Mobile or AT&T or any other GSM networks. Last thing you want to do is look stupid with an StraightTalk/T-Mobile sim in your hand and your device is wired to the AT&T network.

This cellphone works well with MOVISTAR and TELCEL in México, the processor has a good frecuency even the 1 GB RAM and the camera with the pictures in my opinion are better than 5MPx. Okay, here is the lowdown. I consider myself a power user. I have to run remote desktop to my Windows work computer (as well as see what my kids are up to at home) with this phone as well as play games and lots of data and CPU involved items. I have had the Blu Life View (big brother to this) and I ended up back at the Studio 5.5. I said it before in my posts, but after months of use, this is a damn good phone for $170 on Ebay. Peppy as hec, no hang ups, no freezes. This phone just works and works well. Never have I wished I had more RAM. I thought I might, just to feel comfortable, but after many hours of use, I am good with 1 Gig of ram in this device. As you may have noticed I purchased the Blu Life View expecting the same in a bigger screen phone and at $100 more than the 5.5, not pleased. I ended up coming back to the the Studio 5.5. The camera picture is better quality, though pixel wise not as much. The rom seems to work smoother. Not limited to 1 gig of space on the rom. I just really have to say, if you want a smart phone that will keep up with today's demands and is no frills and just straight up works, then this is the phone for you. I love the fact that I get Samsung (Gulp!) quality, but if I kill it, I only paid $170 versus $600. Try it, you will like it.

Yes, Not "I" version T-Mobile in the US. I am using T-Mobile and getting 4G speeds with the "A" version in the US. Speed tests are pulling in 5 and up with bursts of 10 Mbps but an average of 5.8. 4G at this point does not get much faster than this (even though it is supposed to). This is a screaming phone for the price. My wife is using a Galaxy 4 and there is no difference while doing speed tests with T-Mobile

Curious where you are? There are 2 versions of this phone "A" and "I". "A" works best in the US and gets the HSPA & HSPA+. Unfortunately, this phone IS NOT fully T-Mobile compatible - unless you are lucky enough to live in one of the areas where their network was refarmed to use the 1900 band for data (and even THEN it's a crap-shoot). Most of T-Mobile still uses the 1700 Mhz/2100 Mhz bands for cell data. The American version of this phone uses 850/1900, which is fully compatible with AT&T and other similar networks. So, basically, you're going to be stuck on Edge speeds otherwise. :(

Only once or twice out of about 40+ tests (tried diff APN configurations and setting it to only use wcdma for some tests) did the phone get above 1 Mbps upload. No complaint as to the CPU speed, plenty fast enough for day to day. Doesn't make sense why the download is fast but the upload is like Edge speed. Maybe a defective phone or sim or some other issue. Also wish there was a form fitting case. Blue has 0 cases for this and no cases are available elsewhere.

Okay, got mine yesterday morning and have been running it through the wringer. Does have 4G speeds Not 4G LTE, but 4G for sure. Speed test is bringing it in at almost 6Mbps. This is with T-Mobile. Benchmark equivalent to the Asus Transformer TF201. Screen is not super crisp, but very clear and clean. Runs very peppy, no hesitations or lag time. Games run smoothly. I did install a Swype keyboard input. I would not mind at least another 512 in RAM, but have yet to have any hiccups. Fits in hand well. I got at the same time a Studio 5.3 II and I really like the feel of it better. It is heavier and has more of the premium feel, but is much slower than the 5.5. Camera is good. 5 megapixels is fine. But quality is good. Calls are clear and loud. The loudspeaker is a little distorted at full volume. The automatic brightness is quirky, so I just turned it off. But overall, I give this phone a 9 out of 10. Again, not a Note II or III. Does not have all the extra little functions, but works great and is no nonsense. Does what it is supposed to do and does it well. For the price, you are not going to find a better phone. I sold my Note II and got two Blu phones for the price I sold my Samsung and had money left over. Selling the 5.3 II

I don�t get all this complaining about the ppi on this phone. At 178 ppi its running about the same ppi as the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 which is priced at $359 retail � which is double the price. Studio 5.5 is also about the same ppi as Galaxy Grand which is $300, all while Studio 5.5 is still having more ppi than entry level Samsung devices like Galaxy Young S6310, Galaxy Fame S6810 which are still priced higher than Studio 5.5. Not to mention the Studio 5.5 still has much higher ppi than several of the Samsung 7� and 10� Tablets. I think you all should know what you are talking about before posting negative comments. For $179 retail having a Quad Core Processor, and 1GB RAM, the phone is priced great. If you want more ppi then you can spend $700 on a Note 3, since this device is not for you.
