Yeah, you may call it a Horror :) My first powerful Android-phone. Staggering (on paper) equipment shows bad results in daily use. Disgusting SoC by HiSilicon ruins whole positive experince. You won't be able to run any big game or run heavy apps and expect proper multi-tasking. Both cameras are fine. 8MP-shooter is fine in good lighting, macro is also fine, video recording is on point for device from 2012. Frontal-facing camera snaps good selfies. Screen offers you some quality image. 720p fits very well. Auto-brightness works correctly. LED notification is amazing (pretty rare feature back in those days). Stereo-dynamics powered by Dolby Digital are very loud and clear! Seriously, I was amazed by sound' quality. Battery is 2150 (or 2230) mAh, which is fine. But that smartphone is voracious. You may expect it to long for 11-13 hours of heavy use or 1.5 days of moderate use. (Well, it depends on what ROM you'd installed and how old your battery is). I also fond of its size - pretty compact, but thick (>10mm). Feels solid in hand. I have to add that Honor 2 is sturdy. Its case is bulletproof and Gorilla Glass protects your screen, so no need to worry.

Depends on which rom you have installed. With official 4.0.4 you get like 5.3 Gb free (internal memory). I updated mine with Official 4.2.2 rom (emu 1.6). i think i had like around 4.8 GB free. you can always move your apps to the SD card if you manage to easily cap your internal memory.

If your phone came with a moddem rom and you are trying to install an original rom, you probsably need to flash your Recover. for this phone, you can have chinese recovery (for installing modded roms) and origina recovery (for official rom instalation). The official rom instalations are those update.aap you mentioned. that file should be inside a folder called "dload" at root directory of your SD card. for more info, try looking at XDA developers (google it)

Hi I have ordered from China. I think it has a custom ROM installed. The version is u9508v100r001chnc00b540sp02. I try to update to EMUI 1.6 but it doesn't recognise the file update.aap puted in root SD CARD in folder dload but says that cannot open or that update.zip file doesn't exist. I changed the name from update.aap to update.zip or rar but it's the same. Any ideas?

When it comes to honor2 it is beyond everything against lenovo.battery internet speed to name the few. I really disappointed with lenovo coz you cant even move the apps to sd card. I don't recommend lenovolenovo.

most probably that skype is working because is has a front camera and because of its specification. but i would strongly suggest that you use google hangout instead of skype... skype is the heaviest app in the messenger category.

This phone is awesome. The GPS locks in seconds. It's just really fast and the FM radio get excellent reception too. I use Net10. An AT&T sim card was 5 bucks and I get unlimited service for 45/month.

Hi Dears, I used to have HUAWEI HONOR 2. I bought last May in Jarir. the mobile is fast in streaming live videos, but it always crash!! It always prompt that Facebook is not responding, would you like to close it? or Youtube is not responding, would you like to close it? I thik all applications are prompt like that and that is very disturbing for me. I dont know why it keeps on prompting like that considering that I have 4.6 GB available and 300 GB available RAM. i bought this mobile last month from jarir riyadh. i can say that this mobile is far excellent from its price. front and back camera is clear. i used front camera for skype, and its better than my friend's iphone. the battery last about 12hrs while connected to wifi. But RAM is only 1gb here in Saudi, though i didn't encounter any lag or force close while playing games.

Honor 2 Aqcuired last month. But for me it was a surprise ( after purchase) that the RAM is only 1 GB, not 2 GB as announced here. For this purpose you need to keep always a RAM Optimizer & keep closing applications from "Manage App" icon. All other features are Excellent for such low budgeted device. If you are an addicted gamer this is not the right choice for heavy memory games. Recommend a tablet instead.

Dude it's the best device. Considering all of it's internals it's blasting. There may be some or the other fault with the device while manufacturing. Maybe you are the unlucky person to get the faulty piece. But I'm having thus device from 2 months it's awesome.

I have one for the last three weeks. It is no good at all. 1. Touchscreen just doesn't work since day one. Very often I cannot answer incoming calls because the touchscreen does not respond at all. Sometimes when I unlock the screen, just start reacting like I touch all over the place. Icons move or disappear on their own. I have to press power button to have a chance to interrupt this. Awful! 2. The GSM reception is so poor that in my office where I used to talk with my Motorola defy, the honor2 has no signal at all. 3. Stability. Well, there is no such thing with Huawei honor2. Maybe my device is defective, but with such extent of problems it should never come out from production line. Conclusion : Either Honor2 is nothing like its specs say, or Huawei does not even know the meaning of quality assurance. In either case don't throw away your money on this phone.

I have this phone and its amazing. The battery can last a couple days, I use it to emulate gna games which is a massive battery drain but it will last hours and hours of constant play. I always have wifi on and if you use it a normal amount you can get 2 days battery easy. The voice quality is good and the loud speakers are of high quality. Its fast and slick, signal is good, screen is high quality, really a brilliant phone for a great price. I would definitely recommend it. Posting this from my Honor 2 btw

fitifititis, I think you are making an excellent choice by buying this phone. I am still in love with mine, and still laughing at Nexcus 4 and crapple. 1. The only suck thing about owning a Honor 2 at this time is getting insurance. No US insurance company is willing to cover it; they don't know this brand and they don't know the seller in China (buy360.com in my case, this is Chinese version of Amazon) 2. You need to remove the Chinese settings and enable Google Play store by updating the firmware. It is very easy trust me, all you need is a microSD card (up to 32GB) and download the new firmware onto the card. Follow the guide, it only takes about 3, 4 mins. Those are the ONLY two things that I can come up with right now. Huawei has their support team in Atlanta, I think. I have not got the need to email or call them. Have fun my friend, you will love it, I am sure of it ：）

Have been using this Huawei Honor 2 device for about a week in NEW York. What an awesome phone it is! It is LARGE, thin, light, beautiful, and FAST! Compare it with my friend's NEXUS 4, the NEXUS 4 just is NOT any better than Honor 2. All my gear head friends believe that Nexus 4 has met its match, and it is available for less than $300. Those Huawei haters don't even know what they are talking about; they have never touched this device maybe. It is an honor to own an Honor 2! :)

It's a quadcore. Its performance is(Antutu, GL Benchmark) better than HTC One X but slower than Galaxy S III. It's a quad core. The Retina screen is great. Only the plastic casing & the design need to be improved. Mean while, the Android is locked and hard to root. The original software bundle is great but are in Chinese, navigation software work only in China & HK. You got a AppCenter from HuaWei instead of Google Play. I've spent lot of time trying to root bfr succeed. If U buy in Jan 2013, likely the Bin4ry won work.

you can use the playstore by making a google or gmail account. you can do that or go to an app powered by google like youtube for example then you can log-in to playstore immediately. don't be afraid to experiment because you will get the hang of it sooner or later. ^^

Hmmmm even if they cheated the 15k antutu points, the real score still is on par with a galaxy S3 at 12k antutu points, so that still makes this phone still very powerful in terms of performance, not to mention the cost of this phone is only around $350? which makes it a real price/performance monster.

i just got one , it is awesome, it call Huawei U9508 from local (china), it is super fast , and has 2GB, 8Rom, and i update with 32 GB SD card (class 10) , i can move all games to SD card, no need APP 2 SD,you can switch in setting to make default internal or SD card, when i install it go to SD card, :D and it has with awesome camera. and super awesome speaker (really loudspeaker). but bad news is you can't used google play, and also games for gameloft, i don't know why, i try but it did't work only from gameloft. Other games work fine, and it can play full HD games,very fast. I try NFS MW,DEad Trigger,Hot pursuit,NFS Shit, and other, it work fine and fast also :D , sound is very nice. I like it :D , sorry for my bad english. this phone work very fast , it cost me 1999 Y , it about 350$, maybe less. thz

Does huawei provide updates(at least for this phone) or are they similar to LG? I have decided to import either this, xiaomi mi-2 or oppo find (released 12-12-12). Which one do you think would be the best choice? Obviously huawei will cost like 100 euro less but I believe oppo find 5 will be really great and I know xiaomi provides weekly minor updates and a major update each month.

i think it's good due to it's price but i have confuse because Huawei has 2 phones seems with same specification (Honor-2 and Asend D quad XL) but the price is Honor-2 300 USA and Asend D quad XL 500 USA, so why there is big price differance?

I don't think so, making it standard means compromising some performance factors and not everyone is carrying multiple SIMs, why they should suffer? You can think about having a model with dual SIM as well but that would only happen if Manufacturer find it feasible.

Although we know Huawei Honor 2 has a 16 cores GPU, which is confirmed to be Vivante GC4000, but this gpu is not general accepted by most game developing companies, therefore, whatever this GPU gets how many cores, we can hardly expect it runs most big 3D games smoothly or has a great game compatibility.
