HTC Desire 510 - User Reviews

  • I had built a Perk farm about two years ago. I bought this phone in a lot with two others, all cracked screens. This was my first HTC device. I loved how HTC allows users to unlock their bootloader for their phone, that is if it is not Verizon. I unlocked it and installed ViPER4Android. I had done the glass replacement and cleaned the headphone jack. When I read GSMArena review of the audio output, I knew it was worth repairing. The ten millimetre thickness allowed me to use without a case. The front facing camera did not work for some reason. This phone projected a large and wide stereo image with headphones. When I had JVC on ears and XHR DirectBass convolver, the phone could output 25hz. This was before I focused on audio clarity. With bootloader unlock and root, along with disabling or removing Google apps, you can overcome the measly storage limit. External storage is a must. Their was a limited development scene for this phone, but TWRP is available. You can get custom ROMs like RaptorSense and a CyanogenMod 11 without Wi-Fi. The new version of AINUR is compatible with Kitkat, so if you root you will have professional audio quality. These are cheap on eBay because of the limited storage and touch screen issues, but if you get a cheap screen protector it is calibrated. A decent backup phone or disposable music player.

  • im finding not enough room for video,s and photo,s got a micro sim card in my samsung where could i put this in my HTC

  • I got the HTC Desire 510 on eBay in a Auction and the phone work great and I won it for $.99 + shipping I got the phone to use as a dash camera I not into cell phones but it is good way to setup a dash camera for you car there are Dash Cam Apps that work just like a the d-cam they sell. I put a 16gb micro SD card and I set up the App to record in 10 min. videos and set it to storage to use 8gb on the card and will erase the oldies video so I was just looking for a older phone with a 1080p HD camera and this one works great as a dash camera

  • I had this phone for 3 years and I loved it. I had it 2014 - 2017 November. At the time I had 2 phones on me(Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the HTC Desire 510) and loved both of them. I broke the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 by dropping it in water. 8 months ago(November 2017) I got the Huawei P10 Lite.

  • Hahahahahahaahahahah yeah i know what you mean, it does this to me very time, but finally i bought samsung galaxy s8

  • yes, the camera is definitely not the best and i have to take multiple shot of the same thing in order to get one good shot.. I purchased a micro sd card from Amazon and got more space that way.

  • Why is the htc 510 unable to use gsm cuban networks??? I got one ...and can't use it ...only if i go to Wi-Fi hotspot to conect to the ' net...any tips???

  • I am running out of space and the camera is not the best but it is a reliable phone

  • Your model is most likely defective as the keyboard works perfectly fine also don't expect the camera to focus on close items as it's a fixed focus camera. If your phone can't recieve photo messages, it will be an issue with your carrier and the 8gb of storage is perfectly fine on my model I had 6gb free when I got it.

  • The 8gb of storage is fine, I have multiple memory intensive applications and still have a few gigabytes left.

  • I like this phone I've had it a long time and it has not let me down.the only problem I've had with it is the headphone jack has stopped working.if your looking for a reliable phone I'd highly reccomend it.

  • it's ok for a phone at this low of a price, and it's pretty sturdy. however, it's only 8gb, which makes app installations very limited.

  • Yes most likely 8GB internal memory its for apps only, while SD cards takes JPGs ,MP4s and rest of files,,,happen to me on S G Fame 3-4 years ago so try to delete cache, cookies, browsing history from whats app,Chrome,Youtoube not anymore needed downloads, files, possibly some apps at liest for time been...good luck

  • Fortunately there's an easy fix for that! Just put a plastic cover on the screen or a protective glass. It works a lot better this way

  • I found a fix for the possessed touchscreen, just use a plastic cover on the screen, and while it is by no means perfect, it is still a MAJOR improvement over the "naked" screen. I have this phone only since yesterday and so far so good, disregarding the touchscreen.

  • This phone is good but I have a serious problem with it right now. I can't install any apps. It says there's not enough storage. What's funny is that I've got plenty of storage. Can anyone help me?

  • Everything sucks. Keyboard glitches, blurry camera (won't focus), can't receive photo on messages, 8gb memory (this is the worse, since the default system took about 5-6 gb) ... The only good thing being that I've dropped this phone like a million times and there are only minor scratches on the edge and a little crack on the screen (You can't even see it unless you pay attention)

  • I have a htc desire 510 and I love it.I did have some problems but I drop it a lot and it dosen't break.thats why I love it.

  • if u used HTC Desire 510's Android OS version is Kikat version, you can't not delete or edit (files, folders) from external micro sd card by using other file manager but you can delete or edit (files, folders) from external micro sd card by using htc's original file manager. Please ugrade your phone's android version to Lolipop verion.so, you can edit or delete (friles, folders) from external micro sd card by using any u like file manager.

  • sorry that phone i have the same problem :/ you can't delete ANYTHING and even though you store on the SD card eventually the phone will stay delete for more internal storage. and get ready because some home i lost my data.. so i can only go thru WIFI after a few years i had it.. i'm changing phones two thumbs down :(

  • Is there any way to get more storage or delete unneeded programs. I installed a 16 Gb SD but the damn thing ignores that storage option. can't update anything.

  • Go to batterys plus store in Vernonia hills

  • Do any know where can I find part or any one selling an use one that don't work???

  • I dont know do you guys have that problem but my phone is lagging...I cant even type something because when i tap letter j it start to type ohasfokhdagh...I dont like it..cant wait to throw it away!!

  • then you would know that the camera is bad and no-one can take pictures on it

  • i wonder why my d510 only has 4gb of storage, and data partition is only about 500mb free

  • Don't mess around trying to root your phone. I didn't read your entire comment but yes, mine has a case on it but it's fallen in mud puddles and been dropped a billion times. Still working. Just do as I recently did. Go to your carrier and buy a chip. I thought I was going to have to buy a new phone. I use this little phone for a lot. I'm active in animal rescue, have a small rescue and advocate for animals on Facebook and Google plus. I have a YouTube channel. I've got TONS of pictures on this phone. It's out of memory almost, HAS been but I have almost 16Gb available. The phone started working better immediately after I had them put it in. It was about $20 I think. There was a cheaper one, less memory and one that had thousands of Gb memory. More expensive of course. People who know how to root phones say it's easy to mess up and the THEN the phone is ruined. I'm not sure exactly what rooting is. I've disabled some apps the phone came with. I uninstalled Twitter but I don't remember if the phone came with it. I've uninstalled quite a few apps, actually. It says if you uninstall this app, other apps may misbehave. I DIDN'T uninstall Hangouts. I've read that's a bad thing. I DID disable it. I wish I would have known about the memory cbip a long time ago. Because of all the social media sites I'm on the phone was lagging and crashing. Thought I had to buy a new phone. Very smart guy working at Cricket sold me the chip and uninstalled some apps I had downloaded for security. They, themselves were not secure. I didn't know they need the little blue icon to show the site is secure. Still learning. Buy the chip. My phone felt like I bought a new phone. I'm sure it would have crashed and burned, not even come back on soon if I didn't uninstall everything I USE the phone for.

  • I love the photo editor. It's nicer and has much more control than other manufacturers. I have photo lab and photo grid installed. I'm an artist and use photography as a medium. I'm also a graphic artist and understand the red green blue balance. I minored in photography back with rolling film in a dark room. I always edit my shots in my HTC DESIRE editor rather than the photo apps I downloaded. After I do a manipulation I always crop it and using the custom filter I can change the image to various colors and choose which I like. I'm ready to upgrade although the phone still works well at 14 months old. Specs here say Snapdragon. Mine and I believe all are Kit Kat. I don't know much about that part of the phone but check out HTC phones often and I know that's what it says, unless they have changed it recently. Nice phone for what I paid.

  • try an app cache cleaner, should help but not completley.

  • It's a pretty easy phone to root, if you do that you can uninstall anything you want.if your feeling confident, there is a custom Rom called nosense that debloats a ton, gives you root, and Is stable. The Rom will take you under 1 gig on the os and double the speed. I'm not posting links because the mods would probably nerf the post, but you can get all the info at xda.com. Btw the no sense link on the main thread is down but near the last page someone posted a mirror

  • Surely you could see that it didnt have flash on it when you bought it?

  • I had accidentally drop it from the loft straight down to the foyer on the first day. It survived the fall with out any damage. However, i noticed that it had been freezing a lot. It would pause for a couple of seconds while im texting or typing in on any social media. Internal memory has 4 GB but when i bought it, it is already full of useless app which i can't remove. It already has 3 + GB on it so there wasn't much left to play around and add apps that i like. The app that came with it always uses up all of whats left. I had to delete the cache all the time of each app and delete the updates and restore the factory installed version of the apps so the facebook app and skype would function. It doesn't capture pictures well on dim light. I had wish it has the slow motion feature on video. For a $100 dollar phone that survived a 30 feet fall straight down with out any damages and also survived an accidental dump in the water, this phone is not bad.

  • Get the battery out put it back in and I hold the power and volume down button at the same time and then you should get a screen to pop up and then select with your volume buttons the factory reset and press the power on my button and after it should work but you will have all of ur data removed btw I agree with you worst phone ever I have to wait til December until I get my s7 edge :[

  • You should get an app called Root app deleter. It allows you to freeze a system app. Then use the phone for a few days and then delete it,but only if after waiting the few days your phone doesn't act weird due to "freezing" it. First you gotta root your phone. Then dl the above app.

  • it's the worst phone i ever got my hands on, whoever designed this piece of crap could use a lobotomy. i am horiibly disappointed after i spent that money on it and i can't wait to get a new one before i can smash this phone with a hammer, i am typing this on my laptop with only my right hand since i use my left to keep the usb cable at the right angle for it to charge. this was the only solution i found after 2 hours of breaking my fingers against it and it still dosen:t charge properly, if it ever freezes again i've half a mind to break the ice. after i've put up with the lack of flashlight, the hyper sensitive touchscreen and all the damn viruses it likes to download for a year and 3 months i am seriosly considering the amish lifestyle

  • I found this phone on the floor with a cracked screen so I charged it and it works but then I found out it only has 4GB of storage and I can't get it unlocked to T-Mobile and I can't delete the stupid Boost Zone app plus it has no flash it's good for a $50 phone but otherwise do not get it

  • Hi I am in the same kind of boat you are with the gyroscope functionality on the HTC 510 desire. So I watch many videos and went over a couple of trust worth tech paper providers and they all said to use a functionality test app. And I am sad to say it said that the HTC 510 did not have a gyroscope. But you f you would like to check for your self please check out (sensor box for Android). Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

  • I absolutely hate this phone. Camera quality is okish, sans the fact it doesn't have flash. It doesn't have a gyroscope. Its directional awareness is iffy, the processing time is terrible, and now just barely a year over the warranty it won't boot back up. It just gets stuck on the white htc screen for ever. I haven't been able to get it to turn on for 24 hours. Boost Mobile is of no help, and now HTC won't even let me send it to them to fix it. Total waste of money. 2/10

  • please tell me this phone has a gyroscope

  • i have this phone but i had a question does this phone have a gyroscope in it. becuase if not then the game i have been trying to play is usless to me.

  • I bought this phone from Boost Mobile. I only have 1GB of "hard drive space", and 3.5 of useless apps that Boost put on there. I want to really talk to the person that set up the phone initially.

  • I've had this phone for about 3-4 months now. Everything works great, except for the memory problem. I bought a 16gb micro sd card (which is the size it takes). All apps are not movable to the sd card. I have looked up possible solutions for the problem, but it seems that HTC will not do anything for it. This makes it really frustrating when trying to download more than 2 apps onto the phone. The camera quality is okay, however objects that are pink come out red. The processor on the phone is pretty fast, but has some issues rerouting on Google Maps.

  • Next time buy a phone with flash. :)

  • Hi i have a HTC 510 desire and i dont have a flash for my camera and i dont even have a light to see. What is the go with that, and why dont i have a flash??

  • I agree. I have an 8 GB phone storage and all the apps that came with the phone takes up about 7.5 GB. I bought my own 32 GB SD card and moved all the moveable apps I can into the SD card. Now I can't download anymore apps unless the phone storage has enough space for the app to download, then I can move it to my SD card. But some apps you download can't be moved over. I even went as far as to uninstall most of the basic apps that I don't use, so the apps that came with the phone. And even doing that the basic apps still take up 7.5 GB. I can't even update my phone now coz I need ~700 mb of space to update, which I don't have. Not my fault all the basic apps take up all the room and I can't delete them, only uninstall the updates. Also, my space bar doesn't work half the time. And the cherry on top is, I've only had this phone for about 4 months. All and all, if you want a cool TEMPORARY phone, get this HTC Desire 510 (I paid $120 for mine), otherwise I would not suggest buying phone.

  • Were you using the built-in keyboard? Try to clear the cache and/or update the keyboard or download and use the Google Keyboard.

  • Some time ago the key board stopped functioning. How do I restore being able to use it??? I cannot even use speak mode.

  • it accepts memory card just go to settings then open apps then open the app you want move into sd card and touch on move

  • Do NOT buy this phone! It has only 4GB memory, not 8GB as stated and most all of it is used up with pre-loaded apps which cannot be removed. I have one app, a word game, on my phone and that's all it can handle. I get a "low phone storage" warning all the time. I had hoped my 16GB memory card would help but it doesn't. Also, no flash for the camera so no flashlight feature either. I absolutely do NOT recommend this phone.

  • Why does spec sheet at spell out 8G of memory and many are saying it is only 4G.

  • you cant get nothing and sd cards do not read in this phone AT ALL.. facebook and ur storage is over it comes stock with 4GB funny though the apps it comes with that are required take up 3.86gb of that 4gb

  • How many apps can u get before its full

  • Here

  • Lemme know if you do

  • King root does not work...I've tried everything

  • I'm currently trying to flash a ROM to upgrade it to android 5.0 - wish me luck

  • The device won't get software updates... It simply cannot support them due to the lack of internal memory. Wanna discuss further? Let me know... Bye

  • You won't ever find it as it simply does not have it. Quite understandable it's a huge fail, but then why did you buy it knowing it had no flash?....

  • Nobody can deny this phone lacks several basic features making it undesired, however it you knew it had no flashlight then why did you purchase it? Just curious...

  • Ok guys i have lumia 635 not keen missing apps good phone, and core prime samsung, with lollipop...is this worth an upgrade advice if so why thanks.

  • I was really looking forward to getting this phone after reading the specs for a phone of its price however it really was a let down. To start the screen is awful, its so sensitive that if it even catches a slight breath the whole phone would go mad as if someone was messing with it, Never had this problem with any others. Also the phone is full of already installed apps and the majority of them are absolutely useless. My final criticism would be that the phone doesnt even have a flashlight, for a torch or even taking pictures, what phone nowadays is made without a flashlight??? Overall i would probably recommend avoiding this phone.

  • I had this phone for about a year. After upgrading from a Nokia smart phone I was pretty excited to have this one. And it was great at first. Now I had Snapchat, a front facing camera, things my Nokia before couldn't do. But after a year having it I can't wait to get rid of it. This phone has zero space. They fill 95% of the memory with useless apps it won't let you delete. I certainly never used them. When I first opened the phone I was able to download Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Vine, and Messenger. The problem was whenever I tried to take a picture and save it, my phone would yell at me to make more space. It would stop me in the middle of what I was doing and direct me to a different screen where I could select stuff to delete. I ended up deleting Snapchat and Vine and invested in a micro SD card to save space for music and photos. Even now my phone won't let me download any new apps and it now shows me the "Make More Space" page about 20 times a day. The camera quality is crap. I can't take any pictures up close otherwise it comes out to be a blurry pixilated mess. The only reason why I bought it was because it was cheap enough and the sales girl at Best Buy Mobile spoke highly of it. It's obvious to me now she probably couldn't have cared less and just wanted to make a sale. Please do yourselves a favor and don't buy this phone.

  • CRAPIEST PHONE EVER!!! it is impossible to text on it always goes to auto correct terrible storage sometimes it just doesnt turn on overall just never ever buy this phone it sucks i prefer apple products way better

  • you just swipe left or right to switch from front to rear camera

  • Super cool , this cellphone is great!!!!!!

  • Yo my phone doesn't even have the option of switching to front camera. what kind of bullshit is that ? I rather have my galaxy avant back than this piece of shit!!

  • Same problem here. Can't even breathe facing it, screen goes nuts. Not exaggerating.

  • This Desire 510 is the worst thing going. I paid 150 bucks for it and it sucks. There is no flash. It won't send a GIF as it compresses them and makes it a still. It wants to push you to use HTC storage and news feed. The phone is supposed to be a quad core yet if you try and do anything quickly it locks up completely. You have to download HTC software to share data to a pc. It won't do simple usb storage. The screen is awful. It has woeful resolution and awful backlighting. I wish i had kept my Huawei phone, it was cheaper and better in every way. Booo Telstra , this thing sucks.

  • Will this phone get android 5.01 update

  • So bad, it isn't funny. Don't bother looking at the specs, cause the screen is so bad you can't text, play games, or do anything. I just tried playing CoC and lost the easiest battle ever because if you press in one spot, the screen will spaz out and decide you dragged eighteen fingers across the top of the screen, then licked the middle. Don't get this phone, ever.

  • Can't find the photos it takes lol

  • how can i start internet in this phone i faced a big problem in that.......

  • Phone is very good for what it is. Only prob is that if you buy an SD card you have to connect to a PC to get your music onto it, apart from that, good phone for the price.

  • Worst phone I've ever owned. I have a collection of phones and this by far is the WORST one I've ever owned. The first one I bought wouldn't charge the battery properly (if I turned the phone OFF and left it plugged in, it would charge, but wouldn't charge while on). The second one WORKS....but you can only have a couple apps on it before its full. The third one belongs to my partner that got it at the same time I got my second one and the earpiece is already out on it and only had it for 3 months. The Moto E is in the same price range and is a MUCH better phone. It's a lot quicker, newer and has more storage. The Desire 510 is LOADED with bloatware. The Custom ROM support is very lackluster. Once I did manage to get it rooted, the one single app I needed Root for didn't even work. The display is terrible in every way...the resolution of the screen, the viewing angles and the color are ALL BAD. I would rather use my HTC G1 if it still worked instead of this piece of junk.

  • google kingroot

  • whats not to hate about the phone? name 1..

  • this phone is garbage i have had Virgin mobile replace it 2 times and still even before it can update the software even with all but the anti virus and calculator deleted or disabled i get out of memory errors which means no text messages or even installing because befor you can install(even on the sd card)it has to save it to the internal memory and there is no room for that also the newest one i have received goes to airplane mode by itself total trash

  • How do you root the HTC

  • nice article that i was searching for 5 minutes.Thank you admin for providing me such a great thing.Your site on the top page of google when i searched for Holi 2016 Sms on my mobile.

  • I've had it for a year and it's pretty good, especially for a $50 phone. Biggest issue I've noticed is lack of memory, but what do you expect for $50.

  • Honestly, as a user of two years, This phone completely sucks. The emojis are ugly. You can't root it. After a while my camera( Which sucked) stopped working and the resolution is very ugly. It has crappy space and the display sucked. It is on Kit Katt, which is old. It will probably take a year before it actually gets anything better. You are better off with a crappy Nokia.

  • actually flash on phones became popular around 2012 and this phone was in development by then so yeah...

  • cyanogenmod 12.1

  • If you get the 8 gig mode, then you are ok. If you get the 4 gig model, you are screwd. The camera is not impresive, but usable... In good light atleast because there is no light.

  • Do not buy this phone if you plan on using more than 3 apps. Claims to have 4 gb of storage but comes pre loaded with 3.5 gigs of crap you can't uninstal and doesn't let you download apps to the sd card. WORST PHONE EVER.

  • The HTC Desire 510 is pretty fantastic in my opinion. It has a fast processor, and it's great for browsing the web, streaming YouTube videos, and using as a WiFi hotspot/tether. The phone's weaknesses mostly come from the camera, small storage, and delicate plastic body. The battery life is good, unless you downloaded some app which runs in the background and drains the battery life constantly. I recommend this phone for casual phone users who have small budgets and don't need to download tons of apps, take pictures constantly, etc. If you are into rooting and such, you should root the Desire. I rooted my HTC Desire 510, and it's pretty great so far! You can find all sorts of neat apps that are for root users to make the usage of your Desire more convenient. Tips N 'Stuff: Don't put water on your phone screen or have it damp! Remember, liquids and electronics don't mix at all! Think about pouring water all over your non water resistant computer or phone.. it most likely won't work properly after that! (Moist is a liquid and so is sweat! So be careful. C^; ). The camera works excellent in well lit places and provides pretty great pictures in the daytime and inside well lit buildings. If you drop your Desire, watch out! This phone can survive a few drops and falls but not many. Be careful if you tend to drop your phone from extremely high places and such, as plastic is not that durable. Get an actual case from HTC, not off of EBay (An Ebay case caused my Desire to almost overheat!). I advise you to get a micro sd card if you plan to take tons of pictures(Even though the camera quality is kinda eh..) get at least a few GigaBytes because the phone's internal storage won't cut it! I warn you, there is no flash. Most budget and prepaid phones don't have one anyways, so if your looking for a phone with flash, look to higher tier phones. This phone does NOT have auto-focus as well, sadly. If you have a extremely cold house/apartment/whatever and do not have a heater, expect this phone's screen to act up a bit! This is a great phone in general. I recommend if you are just a lightweight phone user. Cheers, Anonymous Memer.

  • This phone sucks,my back button doesn't respond

  • I know you may say its bad but try starting out on a flip phone. Its way better than that.

  • Alot of smartphones have no flash

  • I Have Had This Phone 6 Months No Problems ... Bought It Knowing No Flash I Own 3 Cameras... Great I phone.. My First Flat Screen Phone.. My First Cell Phone 26 Years Ago... Once Great i phone!!

  • no flash cannot choos a network display bad camera anormal bad bad bad

  • Worst camera, no flash, no space to app...I don't suggest to buy!

  • Sorry,my touchscreen goes crazy i bought new orginal display i was thinking that something is wrong but still i can't hold i

  • It's a worst phone I ever had ... I bought it on 11.1.2015 ... It has no flash - What kind of phone is that !? The Camera is bad i must use effect Country because it's bright and the colors are little better ... I can't take photos in dark even during the day they are pretty awful. I don't recomend it .My display somethimes isn't working or its working but on its own.I changed display i was thinking something is wrong. So i bought original HTC Desire 510 display but still.I can't type because it goes crazy. So if you can sell it because it has still high price at least in Europe. DON'T BUY THIS PHONE !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There really is only 4 gigs and you can only download apps to internal storage and the typing gets really screwy

  • hay, do your research, it has 8gb internal storage and when you ad a micro sd card, you can get 128gb of storage. Also the quad core processor is really good and fast

  • There is a hotspot - if you look for it. Best thing about it! No flash though.

  • This is the WORST phone I have ever seen! I can never text because it will start displaying random letters even when I don't press anything.... Not only that but the camera is HORRIBLE. Also the storage sucks, it only has 4gb of storage and 3/4 of it is taken up by the dumb apps already there. I wouldn't recommend this phone to ANYONE ... They shouldn't even sell it anymore because it barely works

  • I am also quite pissed off with this frightful object. Even though it does have a hotspot which is very easy to find and use. A number of things have annoyed me. The screen has a mind of its own, has no flash, gets lost extremely easily and returned twice and even after being doused by milk came back to life with no apparent water damage. I only wonder where the hell it is now? I have always received it back with smiles...And if someone has the misfortune to use it, will they end up accidentally call the plod???

  • This phone is garbage I brought 3 of them for each of my kids. Only one is still working one downloaded a virus and the other just stop working all togethermit hasnt been a year yet. I need to know who can I write to in order to get my money back. Boost mobile stop selling the phone because of all the problems with it.

  • I tried to find the flash..couldn't find it..what type of smart phone has no flash

  • Mannn..I haven't had this phone a good 4 months and it messes up..it freezes, shuts off on its own and doesn't have more than a 5GB data ..I can't even download one app without it saying .No storage😠😠

  • I can't find the flash on this phone and I need it cuz I go hunting and fishing in the dark

  • I noticed this problem, for some reason, if you get anything on the screen, the touch screen goes crazy, it's infuriating at times, it happens to me a lot coming back from a run, I find cleaning the screen often helps a lot, also, if you find it freezes a lot, try downloading an app called ccleaner and run it every few days. It seems to keep mine running okay, all that aside, I think the specs are pretty good for the price

  • That's so dumb to say... If a phone is suppose to have a camera the camera is suppose to work just like if I brought a camera and a feature was to make calls.... I'm going to expect to be able to make calls!

  • this phone is awful, the screen is too sensitive which leads to the phone not doing as you say. if you have slightly damp hands the screen will go out of control and end up sending messaged of random letters! the camera is poor and slow. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE !!!!!

  • This is the worst phone i ever had, DONT BUY IT. All sorts of problems, i cant even send a message or accept a call because of this stupid touch pad.

  • What will this do.

  • I have had this phone for about 6 months and already the battery doesn't last, it freezes up all the time and will not let me mount it too my laptop. This is my second HTC is 12 months and they have both ended up breaking. I don't mistreat them either. I've spent $100's on these phones, I don't recommend you do the same!

  • This so true and so funny, and as a matter of fact, I never use my phone to take pictures, I use my camera. The only feature I use in these phones besides making and receiving calls is the Whatsapp messenger, since it's the best for free communication worldwide.

  • I think that the phone itself works pretty well, however, I am very disappointed that there is no way to use a flashlight on this device. I am very disappointed with the lack of the flashlight feature

  • "there's no way to remove this as by law emergency numbers need to be readily accessible from a locked handset." It is a bad design.

  • i hat the dang thing the mesurments on the screen size was to big the screen poped out

  • Piece of crap' Worked fine for about 3 months, started to screw up. Memory problems, screen, display temp difference, finally won't turn on, stuck on home screen. Am completely PISSED OFF the Manufacturer should have Beta tested more, not just a couple of weeks, Beta tested for a year. Was in touch with HTC. They don't give a rats ass. They got their money for the piece of crap.Am sending Piece of Crap back to HTC.Repair or Lawyers.

  • This is the EXACT problem I have and its horrible. I've talked to HTC about it, and they were no help. I live in FL, and we have bipolar weather. Getting in to my car from humid, hot weather to a cold ac makes my screen go insane for 20 minutes. Getting out of my car same thing. It's a horrible phone and I wish I never bought it

  • The screen, and the glass is just... Cheap. If there's any change in temperatute or by any chance the tips of your fingers get wet, when you try to type something, desire will behave like artificial intelligence on... All drugs. It starts typing letters without pressing it etc....

  • There is a way around the storage issue, you have to root, then get link2sd and then using SUPERSU and creating a 2nd partition using a partition tool you can gain CHANGE THIS PHONE INTO A FRAXIN AWESOME DEVICE. If you need help, you can email me, [email protected] ~Jo :)

  • I have i question why is it that you bought a smart phone? It seems that you could make calls and veiw them on just a standard button cell phone.in stead of getting one with everything included

  • How to play a game while on skype?

  • Had phone for 8 weeks and phone gave up I brought it back to the shop to get repaired and a few months later it started chipping my friend has the same phone and hers started peeling off the cover .i barely dropped my phone and it left a deep crack and I couldn't use that corner.Getting another phone and it won't be HTC Desire 510.

  • No camera flash

  • No camera flash

  • Everyone keeps saying it needs a flash. If you want a camera buy one. This is phone. It is meant to make phone calls and receive phone calls. I have only had my Desire 510 for just over a week and I have no issues at all. However, I bought a phone not a camera. Would you buy a camera and complain it would not make a phone call? Think about what you are buying not what you want it to be.

  • No hotspot and cant find the clipboard

  • I've had my HTC Desire 510 for 6 months already and can find little fault with it. * The pre-installed HTC bloatware is an obvious nuisance unless you are willing to "root" your phone, but that could be risky. * No flash on the camera but that's fine for me. I use the camera to take snaps of things I want to buy, documents or advertisements in shop windows, and other things I need to retain for reference. My focus is on information transference, not photography for its own sake. If you are interested in professional photography - high res photos with flash and extended zoom, use a dedicated digital camera instead of a phone. There was seldom any situation where I needed high res, zoom, or flash. It is of course helpful to do your homework and research the type of phone which best suits your purposes before making a purchase. * The HTC Desire is excellent once you get it "trained" properly with regard to voice-to-text, the "OK Google" thing, and many other useful features. * I have noticed this phone is sensitive without a case. Even while screen-locked it does strange things like going into airplane mode, or disabling wifi or mobile data. As of now, I am shopping around for a decent case that is designed for Tradesmen, i.e a case that has a rotatable belt clip, where all phone functions can be performed without removing it from the case. Just found one today in ebay (originally designed for iPhone) and checking if it matches my phone's dimensions. The truth is, a mobile phone cannot yet replace a computer and is not intended to do so. As a multi-tasker, I sometimes get frustrated by certain limitations, especially in relation to RAM on my phone (1GB only), but I often carry around a "hotted up" netbook in my briefcase when I am away from home/office and anticipate the need for high-powered data processing and multi-tasking. In my view, an upgraded netbook is still superior to any tablet I've seen, because it is still a "computer", it is highly customizable in terms of software (I run Linux Mint 13 xfce) and has hardware advantages - more usb ports, replaceable battery, removable SSD, VGA output, etc. My Asus netbook has been with me since I purchased it in 2009 while I was living in Hong Kong. Thanks to the RAM upgrade, the SSD, and the Linux OS, it can fairly be described as a SPEED MACHINE. Not bad for a 7 year old computer that still leaves modern mobile phones and tablets dead in the water. In summary, I have found that the HTC Desire can perform almost all the useful functions of the latest iPhone, at a fraction of the price. We only need to treat it with respect, to understand it's limitations and particular idiosyncrasies, and find work-arounds to any problem that arises. There is no perfect phone, just as there is no perfect human being. Living with a mobile phone is a bit like living with people in this respect. We only need to be flexible, patient, and creative. Here endeth the lesson for today.

  • I had to purchase a phone quick on emergency bases I wish i never purchased this phone. It is a piece of garbage. i can't install anything on this phone. 4gig SD storage space so i upgraded to a 64gig and still i get insufficient space even when trying to save pictures on my SD card. No flash to the camera rotates by itself. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE DON'T PURCHASE THIS PHONE UNLESS YOU JUST DON'T MIND WASTING MONEY. Eventually i will have to buy a much better phone.

  • The Desire 510 seems to be a good phone - it is just not usable because of poor design choices. It is crippled by lack of memory - cannot add apps, or even in some cases cannot update the apps already installed. The one I got has only 4GB, not 8. Several useless HTC apps that can't be removed take up much of the too-small memory. It works nicely as a phone, web browser and GPS if that's all you need.

  • Just plug into your computer and enable developers option and this phone will never give you a problem. - Google Play Developer

  • Looks can be deceiving. Can't stand that it has no flash and no hotspot.

  • Camera is always out of focus. Desire is a bad phone. It has dialed 911 at least 3x on its own. Only a case that covers the screen will prevent it. Screen lock doesn't prevent 911 calls which are only addressed by a closed case. Lately, answered calls come up in speaker mode, settings do nothing to change this. Frequently refuses to charge, only taking out the battery and replacing it works-has absolutely nothing to do with cables. Keyboard is prone to error AND software will replace typed text with undesired words. Instead of answering phone often goes direct to voicemail. Terrible phone. It was cheap but it still is a pain.

  • Agree. Desire is a bad phone. It has dialed 911 at least 3x on its own. Only a case that covers the screen will prevent it. Frequently refuses to charge, only taking out the battery and replacing it works-has absolutely nothing to do with cables. Had none of these problems with my old Motorola droids.

  • so had this phone for 8 months now and it worked perfectly for only 2 months it started by the camera i press on it then turned black and went to the home screen i fixed it by putting a rubberband around the battery for 5 min at the same time it keep turning on and off i fixed that by pressing the power and the volume down button then pressed factory rest it worked fine for 2 days then it wouldnt even turn on thats were i am right now i have tried every thing nothing seems to work i love my phone please help is anybody having thoughs problemes to

  • i have it for about a year and using it just for 4G for 6 to 10 hours per day ! didn't have any problem with it yet !

  • Its not your fault it is a crappy phone

  • The HTC Desire Is the worst phone I have ever paid for If you get any phone Do not make it And HTC Desire The screen sucks A little bit of moisture gets on it It goes bonkers HTCWill not let cricket put a hotspot on it Is by far the worst phone I've ever had and I wish I could get my money back for it because I would

  • Not .theyhav e never got it right, always a trade off with htc you cant halve quality and price. Its the speaker volume or the screen sensitivity could be the battery. All i know is i used to like what htc offered. Now i hate the new stuff very dissapointed. Hey if you have that screen freaking out on you due to crap quality, layer the screen with scotch tape. Seemed to be a cheap fix for the most part but when the batter becomes low be sure the screen will go nuts again and type and call or... Delete whatever it desires.

  • When am watching videos, suddenly it will just pause, what can I do to stop it

  • Not a bad device, especially for its price. Has several problems with stability, but that's probably my fault. I found that the device comes with lots of bloatware from HTC, so only get to use about half of the storage capacity for personal stuff.

  • I went into my settings and went to where it said talk and low hearing something of that nature and now the phone does not scroll and or go back to where I okayed that setting so all it does it talks while on a conversation and I must double tap a number for me to dail out. Very frustrating. Does anyone have a clue. Please help.

  • My phone used to do heaps of random stuff just by having my finger near the screen. The best way I have found to fix it is with a screen cover. Not perfect but I can type this on my phone when in the past I would have thrown it before I could get one word done.

  • biggest waste if money ever i have to calibrate the screen 6 times a day not exagerating either i counte. the phone makes calls on its own and the screen wont work if i have headphones in. ive had these problems with the phone since the day i took it out of the box i hate this phone its a waste of money and i strongly caution anyone from wasting their monjey

  • I bout this phone about 6 days ago. At first I was having all kinda of problems but I believe it was cuz it was cuz software was out of date. First SD was low on storage so switch it to 16g then all of the sudden phone is low on storage but only download 2 apps. I mean really! My last phone wa junk and work awesome. Sensitivity is way to sensitive thinking about getting a different phone already

  • Yeah! U told them what I would of! S******t! Lol

  • worst phone than chinese phones.texts by itself, off by itself, call by itself, video fast farward and stops by itself and many more actions ALL BY ITSELF...din't believed in ghosts before, but after using this phone im starting to...buy at you own risk folks..this phone is not meant for heart patients.....ps: even this comment is being written in my other phone.

  • I have a bad feeling this device won't be getting Lollipop afterall eventhough it was confirmed by HTC in early 2015 :/ And of course, Marshmallow is out of question, too. Nice device, abandoned by HTC.

  • You could've just turned your notification reminder off on your phone and as for the camera.. this phone has No flash and any phone with camera that has 5 megs or less is always gonna have a crappy pic unless you're in a prime location.

  • Absolutely piece of crap, can't do much with it. Very basic can't do much with it. Details too small even I have vision lost & I got told it is good enough size loads of bullcrap. Typing keyboard is poor. I rather shit on my hands CLAP than having buying this phone .Do not buy.

  • very good phone .

  • For all those complains realize what this phone is: THIS IS A CHEAP SMART PHONE Get over the fact it can't do certain things. Buy your $600 or $700 phones if you hate it so badly I know if your hands get sweaty or dirty it can be a bit of a headache The screen sensitivity is frustrating once in a while. This is a basic smart phone. No special bells or whistles. All those who complain about pocket dial ITS CALLED A SCREEN LOCK USE IT

  • also the screen gets slippery very fast

  • true. Very glitchy. can't adjust the sensitivity.

  • The screen is far too sensitive, like another commenter has said, it seems to have a mind of it's own. Very irritating when you're texting and it types the wrong letters, or calls random people. Probably the only thing about this phone that actually bothers me.

  • Got this phone only 8 months ago had a phone before that drove me mad and thought by buying a HTC Desire 510 would b great? For a few weeks it was and then went down Hill. Everytime i get a msg or notification of any sort it wont stop beeping until i Open it, screen is very sensitive opens things i dont want, screen cracked very easily, camera is terrible thought it would b much better! Over all im not pleased, even posting this was a struggle for a min. Looking at gettin an iPhone 6 there the best! :-)

  • Amazing. Occasional screen glitches. Yes there is no flash but it brightens up pics without it. My only really big problem is that even if i put in settings default download to the SD card then it wont work and if i do it on web browser then when i get the game, i have been banned from it. So yeah

  • To be fair I need to add to my last comment about 7 hours ago that the phone ringing people all by itself that it has only happened when I have picked up the phone in the middle of the night to check the time. Its obviously too sensitive or whatever triggers it to redial is activated to easily.

  • This is the first "smart" phone that I have ever owned. This phone is not only "smart", it is also very sociable, or it just thinks that I am not sociable enough. It absolutely loves to ring people at random - ALL BY ITSELF !! It likes to ring builders in particular, especially at about 3 or 4 in the morning. Tired builders are not impressed - they think I rang them - and they snort with derision when I say " It wasn't me - it was the phone !! " That's bad for my business. Slightest bit of humidity and the touch screen won't work. I can't cut and paste messages with it. It has no torch or flash. There is nothing user-friendly or intuitive about how to switch between tasks. It is driving me nuts. I'm getting old and can't handle this. My son recommended HTC to me - he is delighted with some much higher spec model that he has, and the only reason I am holding on to this phone is that I don't want to offend him. Dear Mr Owner of HTC company, could you be a gentleman (Or Mrs Owner, be a lady)please, and offer to replace this HTC Desire 510, which I really don't desire, with whatever hi-spec HTC model my son has. If you do that for me free-of-charge I will sing HTC's praises loud and clear.

  • This phone is the weakest peice of shit ive ever owned, it shatters the screen in my pocket, the speaker sucks, it doesnt work with damp hands and seems to have a mind of its own, would not recommend do not buy this phone

  • Lolipop upgrade is coming in Q4, so it will land soon!

  • This phone sucks, no indicator blink, speakerphone sucks, camera is awful, no more HTC's for me.

  • The phone does what it wants.not what i want.it changes screens mid use. Types when i dont touch it. Responds to my breath not fingers.refuses to respond when i try to use it.responds when not using.videos jump to the end mid watch. Contacts other facebook users as soon as i log in. And on and on.

  • Fix focus at this price, what is it htc ? Take back the 1080p video and put a autofocus camera with 720p.I'll be happy with that. I better go for the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime it's better than this HTC.

  • my very favorite part about this phone is when I go to jail for dialing 911 unintentionally for the thousandth time this week that will be great. nearly every time I put the phone in my pocket I hear 911 operator what is your emergency thanks HTC bail me out of jail OK?

  • Omg its so funny reading all the comments because its trueee!!!!1000000000%

  • its been doing great for me. no problems

  • I currently have the phone and it works fine, but I just hate it. Most of the storage is already used up by the time you even turn the phone on. I only had .88 GB when I first started using this phone and it had "never been used."

  • This phone is useless ... You want to buy it - Better don't !!!!! My display goes crazy sometimes my letter i doesn't work properly so i must slide from p to i because when I press letter i and my phone press something in upper right corner ... This model doesn't have flash and camera is so bad it says 8 megapixels but it looks like 2 ... So this phone is c**p ...

  • Ram is working memory not storage. Storage is 8 gig.

  • oh my god, this is the worst phone i ever use. - it does so many things on its own( randomly lazuruch an app, make a call...) - the gps always lost signal - always loose network signal, impossible to be call... -.... it's my first and last HTC, it's unusable. i changed the kernel, the ROM..always the same.. I'm gonna put it under my car's tire to avoid me to become a foul...

  • it needs a flash cuz other wise no gd pictures!!!!!!😡😡&#128545;😡

  • Unfortunately, it's only 1GB if internal storage (RAM) as you can see by going to the top of the page > scroll until you find > Internal> then it will show you the HTC's following RAM. Enjoy your day!

  • It actually only has 1GB of internal storage (RAM) due to it's age and specs, i know so because i own one and am a cell phone fanatic as well.

  • It has no flash

  • Ok, I'm confused. Does this phone have 8GB of internal storage or 4GB of storage as some people have been saying?

  • power button failure. terrrrrrrrible phone.

  • this phone is literally the worse. No wonder it was $40. I was extra excited because I needed a back up phone just in case something happened to my iPhone so I brought it and I only ever used it to read stories in stuff since my 5s screen is a bit small. So i rarely ever used it. No apps. Nothing downloaded. Now, one day I tried to restart the phone because he had just froze on me; before I even clicked on the restart phone option it just shut off and I tried to turn it back on and it just didn't budge. I held down the power button and volume, took the battery out and left it out for a while. I left the phone alone for a few days in hope it would die and I could bring it back to life with the charger but not even that works. I plug the charger into the phone and the battery symbol will come up but then it will shut off again and come back up then shut back off.

  • You say that but i wasted my money. My screen stays black but still viberates as if it is working im just not able to see my screen, picture quality is litterally blurry, this phone was a waste of my good time, photos, and money

  • I am trying to uninstall an app for about two days and because of it I Can't Download anything need help

  • Read the comments about the screen problems..... Evil phone....

  • I can't seem to turn the flash on, on my HTC desire 510 I can't take any k pictures

  • Just hold it on the middle of the touchscreen for about 5 seconds to fix it. :D

  • About the screen on any htc phone just hold it in the middle for about 4-6 seconds and it should be fine. :D

  • Not true i have it and it has even better reception than my friends. Maybe your phone is faulty or something.

  • The olny complain for this phone is the camera. It has no autofocus and lacks in detail. The screen's viewing angles are not pleasant, but still not the worst. If you are getting this phone do not get the 4gb model because you have so little storage. The preformance is awesome and the design even tho plastic is nice.

  • The problem is that it has so little internal storage that it's impossible to upgrade the pre-installed apps and they can't be moved to an external card. It starts out with 3.6 of 4.1 GB used. I had to disable automatic app updates just so it would stop complaining.

  • this is my first and last HTC product. Very disappointing, struggles to get reception when others in same office using same network but with Apple or Samsung are fine. Frequently cuts out mid-call. I suppose you get what you pay for but in this case even less

  • Phone comes pre loaded software and cannot be removed, 3.8gb/4.1 used, almost NO apps can be moved to sd card... Waste of money.

  • This phone is absolutey shocking and I've wasted a good amount of money on this phone. My freind recommended it to me as a good cheap phone but next time I will read internet reviews. Firstly the camera quality is horrible and it has no flash which isn't that big a deal but I would have liked flash as this is what the vast majority of phones have nowadays as a basic. Secondly the screen sensitivity drives me mad. It randomly does random things you don't tell it to e.g when witing a text it clicks on random letters weirdly and that makes any typing task triple the amount of time it should take. I tried a sceen cover to see if that helped and to be honest it did and their were less issues but still a few like the one I've already mentioned happened. Also regulary a message comes up saying to restart your phone hold the volume up and the power button. I tried restarting my phone and again when I was on the screen unlock it came up again. The message stayed on the screen until it was restarted which made it impossible to actually access anything on the phone. Luckily this wasn't every single time but still did drive me livid as all phones actually let you into the phone. But on the positive side the data does goes relativley fast out and about and I do have 4G on the phone and when playing downloaded apps the game doesn't really lag much. Finally the phone would be nicer with more memory but to me that isn't a huge problem.

  • I've owned one for a few months now I had lost a really expensive Samsung and the price of this one was hard to beat. However I was disappointed in finding out later there were no flash but exceptional microphone I swear not once has it ever not understood exactly word for word what I've. I think for the money it would be hard to beat

  • I HATE THIS PHONE! I don't know if it's just me, but I was having so many problems with the touchscreen. Sometimes it didn't even sense my fingers, other times it would just do things alone as if it were posessed. I was loosing my mind. Needed a lifetime to write one text message. In addition there is NO FLASH.. the pictures are of horrible quality. The sound is good. But all in all it's a terrible phone in my opinion. I was so satisfied with the previous HTC i owned, thought I was going to stick with HTC for a while.. changed my mind. It's a shame I hadn't read the reviews before purchasing it.

  • Htc 510 is like the devil straight from hell problems from day one stay away from this memory storage devil problem phone

  • I plan to soon buy it, after reading lots of comments on several videos it looks alright. I dont care about camera/camera flash all i care about is the apps and even if it doesnt have much storage i can buy a SD card so all in all it seems like a good phone

  • This phone was kinda disappointing compared to other phones its price range. Although it has the same specs with other phones its price range, the camera was horrible and there was no flash. When I got this phone I was very excited since I finally replaced my outdated iPhone 3gs. At first there was no problems, but as time went on things started to change. My phone storage started to run out, and I could barely download any apps. I had to buy an SD card that had 8gb of space on it in order for my phone to keep going. Also, the camera was extremely disappointing, a camera worse than my 3gs. The phone also had no flash, so I couldn't take a photo at night. Also, the phone started to do things often by itself eg. typing random letters when texting, and trying to text a decent message was a pain. One major problem is that other phones the same as its specs have already upgraded to the latest 5.0 lollipop update, but htc just forgot about it. I can see why. Also, the screen would keep getting dirty, and I constantly had to clean my phone. Whenever I'm downloading apps, I had to micromanage my phone in order for it to keep downloading. However, on a positive note, it does quite well in video games, and does a better job at gaming than an iPhone 4s. It's also very fast, and I haven't had any lag problems at all. In conclusion, if you're wanting to buy a phone that is under 200, don't buy this phone. It is a bad phone, and I don't even understand why HTC would even consider making a phone that doesn't even have flash. Buy a Motorola moto g instead.

  • I honestly despise this phone. First chance I get, I'm throwing it in the trash can and getting an operational phone. First off, there's no flash...eh whatever, not a big deal, right? No, since there is more problems with the camera. Always takes blurry photos, and makes photos overall look horrific. Also, the screen always goes crazy, and does things on it's own. It reacts to even a small breath I take. And with this, it ignores your input. Mind of it's own. Not a good thing when you try apps like Temple Run, which the phone makes practically unusable. Texting someone is impossible, and it always mutes or hangs up on every call. Only thing it's good for is audio. And to top it all off, the company FORCED me to get this phone, And trade in my other, working phone. All in all, DON'T BUY THIS GARBAGE!

  • today to produce a phone without flash ... stupid

  • I personally like the HTC everything works fine for me. Only one thing I don't like about it is that it don't have a flashlight which sucks cause my other HTC did

  • Great phone! Very fast, no lag, excellent audio quality, HTC Sense is best android skin. Good build quality , very solid. Screen is good, better then most Sony phones.Battery long lasting.Only thing bad about phone is no camera flash, if its important to someone.

  • I like my phone Just need some flash🔥

  • Wow I was about to buy one now but I decide to search info about this HTC and I see u guys al ur comments and I step back tanks guys I thing this is the best way to no about guality.

  • I am incredibly disappointed from this smartphone. The plastic it is made of is very prone to scratches. Without ever being dropped it has a crack near the headphone jack. Screen goes crazy A LOT. The camera is horrible - even in good light it shoots blurry photos full of noise; the lack of flash kills it completely. The front camera will make sure to take the most ugly selfie possible.Nearly One year after it's release there is no update to Lollipop. It doesn't have LED notifications. Also it's bulky and heavy. Could've been much better.

  • Okay I have had the phone for 3 months+ It was free. (Virgin Canada) Can't complain except for camera flash, and virus apps that ALL phones seem to have.

  • Worst phone I have ever owned, needless to say this is going back, and I'll just get a oneplus one or oneplus 2

  • As one is USA and one is EU

  • Yes no flash but I personally love my phone

  • hello.why for this model HTC desire 510 is written twice times quad core to CPU?thanks

  • So I just bought this phone on a whim because my LG Volt recently disappeared... I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!! I've had this phone for about 3 hours now & the ONLY thing I like about it is the fact that I can change the font and the screen resolution looks great. Both cameras are nice (Only in a HIGHLY lit room) but because it has no flash, pictures don't come out so well. It is definitely super sensitive to touch, so you have to use a finger vs a thumb (which I'm used to) I really should have researched better on this phone, but it was the sale that sold me (only $60). Needless to say this phone will be going back ASAP!

  • I've had this phone since November of 2014, I've had to reset this phone about 5 times because my camera would not turn on, the phone doesn't adapt to new chargers unless you hold it a certain way, the phone is very sensitive to moist fingers which sucks because my hands get very sweaty. The camera sucks both back & front, who makes a camera WITHOUT FLASH? I wish they would recall these phones it was a waste of money. I wish I hadn't fucked up my iPhone, I wish I didn't decide to go back to shitty HTC.

  • Only problem I have with the phone is not enough storage, every time I try to download always insufficient storage

  • Had phone about two years never able to download updates, always say insufficient storage, everything is on the phone the way I bought it,can't download games if I do, have to delete one to get another. This is very disappointing.

  • Dear you need my phone just give 140euro no scratches nothing all things good

  • Yaaa this phone dont take its a damn keypad problem and automatically opening apps but internet all fast problem is keypad touching one going some one

  • This phone is a piece of shit. Make sure there is no moisture on your hands or your phone will go bizerk. Even if it's moisture in the AIR! Your phone will go crazy and jump from screen to screen. ALWAYS sends me to Google play randomly. Camera sucks. Audio Jack is terrible. Can't use earphones. Just a terrible phone all around. I pray you read this before wasting your money.

  • Key pad doesn't put letters u type but makes up and highlights some word you didn't touch one by one on letters. Very annoying. Charger after 5 months began to reject its own charger saying not HTC charger. When called company said would send out another charger knowing they were back order for over 3 weeks still waiting. Called after 3 weeks & asked to send another battery because using someone elses charger & told that would be longer all back ordered & company hasn't yet made then to fill back order. I am disabled & told them over phone needed for Dr appointment etc. They didn't care. Suggested they contact their suppliers & they didn't care. Told can't use anyone else charger but they asked me to which I said I thought that would void warranty. Would never buy their phones again. Phone $200USA I had cheaper phones with better abilities. Won't discuss other problems here.

  • battery is ok,very good, but camera is not auto focus.so pic is not good.and no flash.

  • Get a new phone then

  • Mate, it is extremely hard to understand what you are saying but are you implying this is not a good phone? I was thinking of getting one of these for my son but not if it is not a good phone. In Australia, it sells for AUD179 so it is not a very cheap phone.

  • I bought this phone nov 23rd two months no problem then if am using over apps then keypad letters going some where some functions automatically working really getting angry...and another thing is good speed internet and bad camera service authorities good now am planning to throw this phone waste phone ....always for youngsters htc desire 510 again i will not buy htc if u hav contact me +393405571905

  • Honestly the HTC desaire 510 was bit expensive at all. If you bought it for more than the moto e, then you bought it for waaay too much. I got mine for 40 dollars without a service plan. The moto e is terrible anyways dont buy it.

  • One day I was w. A group of friends and tried to take a selfie and it shut down

  • camera, and pictures suck.

  • Mine does this non-stop and has even dialed 911 a few times while n my pocket...absolute junk!!!

  • need to buy this fon, need an advice on calling boost mobile to activate it. can it use any sim card?

  • No led flash, no autofocus... Camera only looks good in well lit area honestly. I love everything else about the phone though.

  • I love my HTC Desire 510. The phone definately needs a protective cover. Make sure Google Now is off or phone will be voice texting randomly. That I found extremely annoying but sorted now after I switched this function off. I think the camera is very good too. Keep screen clean always. Phone fell and cracked rendering it useless waited for original screen for a month but worth it and wasn't too expensive. You must free up memory and empty app build up regularly. If people want an iPhone get one. These do what they say they do but research your model and know how to use it before finding fault people. There are very good tips and help options available if problems arise. A lot of problems here are network or sim problems. Know your stuff. Best phone I had in a while. Well done HTC. Very user-friendly 😊

  • i've been using my htc desire 510 for just 4 months..yesterday it fell down and my screen was destroyed..i can't even do anything..i touch the screen but nothing..now i'm thinking of buying a new mobile phone because it'll cost me a lot to get the screen fixed..i don't have much experience with this phone..but i suggest you not buy it..first of all and most important it doesn't have led flash..secondly it's made of cheap materials and you'll understand this if it falls down..in my point of view it isn't somethin' exciting..it crashes many times(ram 1GB) ..and battery's duration is low .

  • For the bad specs u get this phone is waaay to expensive, no led flash, no autofocus!! Can u believe that? And such a low resolution display at 208ppi, even my cheap budget huawei ascend y330 has a much better display at 233ppi, which is probably the sharpest display in its class. This phone is more expensive than the much better sony xperia m2, moto e 2nd gen, Samsung Galaxy core prime and huawei ascend g620s. If ur looking for a budget smartphone with a great display then recommend the huawei ascend g620s which has a 720p HD display at 294ppi and it is cheap!!

  • If you have suffered through owning this phone for a mind bending 18 months, you deserve an upgrade bro. Take your SIM out and set fire to that flimsy turd of a phone.

  • Set up the calibration and make sure your hands aren't sweaty

  • My calls are being dropped often. Does anyone has this problem?

  • whenever i type something it messes up and types itself, random letters and it has bugs, can't scroll properly also. going up and down when scrolling for no reason. 1 out of 10.

  • Got rid of it as it kept dialing 911 automatically (wtf?) while in my bag. Got rebuked twice by the nypd just for this.

  • Decent and light weight phone with bad camera. My biggest issue with this phone is the pocket dialing and answering especially it keeps dialing 911 without me knowing it. HTC must fix this problem otherwise will get rid of this phone or HTC brand completely !

  • Its a good phone, haven't had problems with flash BC I don't take a lot of pictures. But my problem is when my fingers are a tad bit wet the screen won't work at all, and it has dialed 911 so many times.

  • I'm purchased HTC desire 500 before 18 months.Now camera can't work. What I can do ?

  • Did you even ask bc where I brought mine they told me the ups anddowns

  • Did you even ask bc where I brought mine they told me the ups anddowns

  • I like the phone

  • I like the phone

  • No flash on here

  • They are some haters out there that don't like Lebron but I love my htc desire 510. So all look elsewhere. Ice.

  • Bought this phone for $80 at Wal-Mart to add a personal phone to accompany my work iPhone 5s comparing the two is not fair. Everyone has to realize that this is an affordable phone and you get what you pay for. With that being said I get what I paid for plus more. Very happy with it and I would say it's a good buy. If you want more buy a higher end phone or research before buying. If your on a budget I highly recommend it.

  • I cannot believe that this phone wont built camera on it, I think that this lot need to be replace it for new model, it has to be a manufacture mistakes, nonsense to use camera at night without FLASH!!!

  • I cannot believe that this phone wont built camera on it, I think that this lot need to be replace it for new model, it has to be a manufacture mistakes, nonsense to use camera at night without FLASH!!!

  • virgin mobile isn't the problem. That's just the carrier that phone, which I own, can have Sprint, T-Mobile, Cricket etc.

  • They mean camera flash, which no, it does not have.

  • Does it have front camera flash or anythng

  • just got it and think im going to return, i made a rushed decision and couldnt imagine that it didnt have flash?! does virgin mobile have any good phones?! i tried the awe and it was okay but ... staying in it for the plan i had with them before though

  • Old ass phones have flash because flash is an old ass service. All new phones now work on HTML5, if you want to use an app or website that is not HTML5, then it's the old ass flash that's the problem!

  • This is a great phone and if u don't like it u did u buy it

  • Same here I have a memory card but it won't take it. It's a smartphone but useless cuz you can't download anything then what it came with. I don't recommend not to mention no flash. Even old ass phones have flash

  • So glad I found these reviews. I was going to buy this phone today. I love HTC for ease of use, but I'm now going to steer clear of HTC Desire 510. How stupid not having a flash on the camera...and not being able to download apps that you WANT. My mind is made up...come on HTC lift your game.

  • I just got the phone and these comments are kinda making me regret it is there nothing good about this phone?

  • there's no flash on it. that sucks for taking pictures at night.

  • You're absolutely right!!!!! What's the sence of having this giant hand held computers, tablet, phone, whatever you want to call it, when you can't even download a single single single darn app.....makes NO sence. AWFUL

  • I can say I like chicken but it's still I'm not expressing how much I like it but I can say this I have this phone and I works miracles, like a perfectly working clock and we'll there's nothing I would give up this phone for materialistially on this earth, I have no idea what anyone is talking about but none of it's true, you guys who have problems with your phone we'll you must have got a recall on your exact phone you just picked the wrong phone idk but it's an amazing phone. :) thanks for your time.

  • Hey I have this phone and it's perfect, btw if you don't likeit then get warranty for it or insurance.

  • Don't worry. The store I bought mine from lied and told me it had flash. Paid 210$ for it, only to call back to ask how to I turn on the flash cause I thought it would be automatic, for her to tell me it doesn't have it. Tried to take it back, apparently they don't do refunds. Worst phone ever spent money on.

  • I bought a 16gb sd card.... STILL SAYS theres INSUFFICIENT space. Like, WTF man!! I can't update on anything.

  • worst piece of s*** I ever spent money on there is no space can't download anythingbecause the phone is so full of s*** that it's unreal.....the camera is bullshit....can't update because there is no space

  • this phone is the biggest piece of s*** I have ever owned I do not recommend you ever getting this phone it is the worst phone I have ever owned and I'm disappointed in HTC No flash on it which is ridiculous its slow I had my phone not even for months and it works when it wants to the speaker doesn't work anymore never been dropped I do not like this phone

  • a phone is a computer as it has a processor

  • Had mine year, touch screen . Works when wants to. Useless phone

  • its a nice phone and good working but no flash and light slow

  • it's a nice phone with all the enticing specs the only issue is with the "no flash light" thing. it's kindna odd.

  • this phone was good when i got it but after a week it was so bad the touchsreen didnt work and the camera is shit

  • You mean buy

  • Well done on this phone, and yes everyone there's no flash which kind of sucks but given the benifit of the dought the phone overall rocks thanks well done

  • I hate to tell you this but the problem isn't the phone, it's Boost. I just left Sprint for Cricket and my new desire is working flawlessly. Boost runs off the Sprint towers and while I was with Sprint I couldn't do anything with my old phone. My neighbor just left Cricket for Boost and she's having the same problems you are.

  • I can't wait To bye this phone

  • This phone sucks can't DL any apps bc the updates take up all 4gb of phone space and I have a 4gb SIM card in it I can't use bc there is no room on the phone. Every time I deleted updates and stuff I don't use even with data and WiFi updates turned off it still updates what it wants when it wants, the biggest waste of money ever, don't water your money

  • Idk, sounds like the majority of everyone's comments are a complete disapproval of the HTC DESIRE 510! Which f***** blows Because I just bought the same phone a few days ago, an I ended up on this site because I thought to myself that it couldn't be that the camera or phone itself doesw not have a flash light on it, like wtf. Other wise then that I like the phone. I've Haven't had any problems yet an hopefully it stays that way cuz I've always liked HTC phones. Thanks

  • Just got this phone & I CAN'T BELIEVE it does NOT have a FLASH for the camera...shouldn't that be standard for phones these days. Unfortunately the store I bought it from has a no return policy otherwise I would return it for that matter Alone! Nice phone for the price, but highly disappointed about this CAMERA! #NOFLASH #really ??

  • The HTC desire 510 does everything but make phone calls OR send picture messages. Google and Boost mobile pop up randomly, making a call is nearly impossible, my call log is a long list of tries. And sound quality? IF I get through, sucks. Boost has been no help and HTC says my unit is "fine" What I cannot figure out is why so many people think it's fabulous.

  • had same problem,,,,try having a screenguard,,after having a screen guard in place havent had the issue again,,the screen is so sensitive on sweat

  • Not really

  • I love this phone and has lots of cool features but I have had it less than 1 month and the touch screen is completely useless! It will not register or let me text and if I try to go onto the home screen it takes me to google but it was good whilst it lasted defo buying a Samsung next time

  • biggest regret buying this subpar phone, was a fan of htc until this product.on top of the Low screen resolution,no flash and plastic shell other issues appearedat first I had the issue of pocket dials, opening apps I don't use, random letters in search, then multiple redailings.now my touchscreen fails to register or registers a press nowhere near my finger, cant answer calls, trying to text becomes so frustrating its 4 months old and it hasnt been wet or misused ,useless

  • It's a smartphone. It's android. The interface suits pastel icons and themes. Seamless integration of social media etc. Very good. But it's just an android smartphone among many faceless android smartphones. What shines is the battery life and the pretty good texting on either qwerty or T9 keyboards: unobtrusive and not heavy on the suggestive. But battery life has to be the best I've ever known on a device like this.

  • It's a good phone. I bought it because my iPhone 5 crapped out. This is the best android I've ever owned. And I've owned a lot. My Samsung galaxy s4 was fried after a month of use. HTC desire 510 is a good phone if you're using it as a phone not a computer. No it's not high end but as long as you use it for its purpose then it's okay. Loving the phone can't complain.

  • Best Buy convinced me to buy this crap HTC Desire 510 when I wanted another LG, which are GR8 phones. HTC Desire is a substandard phone. No flash, camera quality so bad it won't even scan a b&w barcode. No LED notification light so you have to constantly turn on to see if missed calls, texts, or emails. HTC collects money from app makers to add advertising garbage. Apps I had on LG, when loaded on HTC Desire, now have ads everywhere and they don't on LG even when updated. The phone is listed as 4g and my LG sitting next to it gets a 4g signal and the HTC is 3g. No lock screen, just home/lock combo. No size/picture icon customization but touts it is android. The screen resolution is lower than LG and colors more washed out. Numerous other substandard characteristics. It is more expensive than LG and I SO regret not getting another LG. Wish my Best Buy bad car stereo installation had not blown out my LG which I loved. I cannot recommend HTC and can tell you KG is the way to go, definitely.

  • Google for phone unlock. I forget the website. When I bought my HTC 510 I was able to unlock it for paying $19 aus and getting unlock code and instructions.

  • Why the hell would there not be a flash on the camera??? Like really I don't understand........ Very disappointed

  • Other then not having a flash i like this phone it is as fast or faster then my S5 one other thing is the screen gets s lot of finger prints

  • Been trying to find a flash for this phone and there is no app for it. Really disappointing. Especially for the money. My camera is sucky. Not happy with the phone at all and have no memory which was why I bought the phone. Was told it had lots of memory.

  • Hi I was told there is a processer issue yet if u call cricket they act clueless I am sad to say some of the reps are clueless with how to respond to an issue. If once they didn't read a cue card and pondered on the issue we might get somewhere I'd contact HTC direct might get better help.iv had multiple issues and went right to HTC for help good luck

  • I've had this phone since November of 2014 I've gotta say I love it. Pros: phone looks great for its price doesn't feel cheap Never had a problem with it going slow or acting up Cons:phone has very low internal memory (which can get frustrating if you love your apps) no flash on camera has apps installed on the phone already that you can't delete camera quality isn't all that but it's reasonable for its price. over all I've enjoyed this phone yes it can really get on my nerves with the memory but other than that it's a nice phone had many compliments on its look

  • I've had my phone almost two weeks I think it's a descent phone for low end phone...other then when starts getting darker an can't use camera because no flash I thought a flash was standered we all phone's now days kinda gutted is there any app I cud get to slove my issue

  • Just purchased this phone March 18th of this year and I am very dissatisfied...it is the worst phone ever. I have been having problem after problem and haven't even had it for a month yet..I'm feeling very frustrated.

  • I feel the Same way. I've had mine for one month & can't even download an app to it. Boost mobile put apartment on our phones that are not wanted or not able to be removed. There's NO PHONE STORAGE and it automatically changes the words I type into words not meant to be used. Often I have to start a whole new sentence with different words. DOWN WITH BOOST MOBILE DESIRE 510 and Sprint for not caring about customer satisfaction. Kat

  • I got my htc phone Christmas and it is now march and its rubish. Whenever I try to type it starts to type a load of rubish and I can't scroll without it pinging back up or down. I loved it but now I just wanna throw it against a brick wall has any one got a solution!!????

  • Put it in the microwave, it evaporates the water crystals

  • I have my phone htc Desire 510 about three months ago and i had to face a big problem i.e my phone has dropped voice calls (incoming, outgoing). It has been happening from day first. I've tried my best to sort out this problem but all in vein. Can anybody give any solution for this problem please??????

  • Take it apart and let it dry out if it's red on any part on the inside by the battery it might not work but also rice helps

  • Take it apart and let it dry out if it's red on any part on the inside by the battery it might not work but also rice helps

  • When I bought this phone no where on the package or in the description of the phone said it did not have a flash for the camera, had I known this I wouldn't of bought this phone. Is there anyway you can download a flash for the camera, can you download flash alerts. Please help

  • please help....what can i do when i get my phone wet

  • can i have this phone unlocked to work with other networks other than sprint?

  • This is TRUE! My phone has dialed emergency 3 times already from my pocket. Needless to say it is causing me problems. Cricket has not been helpful so far.

  • How can I get a flash for the camera

  • I have the HTC Desire 512 I love it the only thing I don't like about it it doesn't have a flash but what I really love about it is when u go to sleep n u don't like charging ur phone at night u can put the extra power saver on n it keeps ur battery the same or it'll go down like 1% or 2% but love it. You can fix ur phone up the way u want it just gotta find the right app.got mine at Wal-Mart for $111 n had it for 3 weeks know. I recommend buying it if u don't want an expensive phone... I just like HTC it's my thing

  • I have the same HTC desire 510. And last night it called 911 7 times while it was locked in my locker at work.

  • Ive had this phone for two months now and I've had no issues and love it. The price was great and I think it's been worth every penny. The battery lasts longer than most phones I've had and that's been quite a few. Its easy to navigate and calls sound very clear and have had no service issues through Virgin Mobile. Internet is quick and efficient. Ive also Dropped this phone quite a few times without a case or screen protector and has not Broke or even received a single SCRATCH or ding. I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a inexpensive but still reliable smart phone and that's easy to use. Great phone for teens starting out on there first cell phone.

  • Just got this phone a few days ago. Basic and great at the same time GREAT size, came with a memory card and all I had to do is go to boost mobile and transfer my number! Great deal $45 a month will switch to the $55 so I can have 10MB

  • i'm about to get one should i get one or not? I know the batteries die fast

  • HTC Desire 510 is a joke, worst mobile phone I have ever owned. It dailed emergency 911 itself 7 times while was in my pants pocket, at least 911 dispatcher was nice enough to called me back and made sure I was okay. If it wasn't for free, I would never buy this phone in the first place, I'm giving up on this sh*tty android phone and going back to my previous iPhone or better yet iPhone 6.

  • this is the worst phone I have every had purchased in oct I am now on my third phone sent back on various occasions still not right now been told Tesco phone shops have delisted the item

  • HTC Desire is honestly the best phone I've had in a while, the camera is not the best, but what do you people expect its a phone? If you want to take pictures buy a camera. The camera does the basics and that's would you would expect from a lower end phone. The speed of the phone it's self is amazing, I bought mine for a 100$ on sale at bestbuy. I have had no problems with my storage, I inserted a micro SD and all my apps are now stored on that. Really people not that hard to buy a 5$ micro SD. The phone is more durable than an iPhone, you drop an iPhone once and that's it, its done. plus I have had no problems with the keyboard, and also it's a 150$ phone what did you expect from the screen? A retina display? 400 pixel density. You people bought a lower end phone and expect a HTC one m8 from it. It is a great phone for what it's worth, stop complaining.

  • I have had mine for 3 days and the touch screen is freaking out like someone is messing with it, how can i fix this, it keeps giving this notification and i declined it keeps coming back no matter how much i decline that was followed by my phone deleting everything i had and restarting.

  • Touchscreen is fine, I have one and don't notice anything wrong with it

  • That's your opinion, don't make others hate it just because you do.

  • No

  • its a good phone dose the basics but the touch screen is rubbish i would not advise buying it

  • what is TBC radio? Could any person advise, please?

  • Phone is great but why aren't the settings icons coloured we need some colour

  • Just wanted to know if you can video call on this phone

  • Hey, I had this problem as well if you turn off the phone or you could restart the phone it should fix your camera i had this problem as well but thats how I fixed it.

  • The camera app won't even open so what do I do.? I am getting very frustrated

  • Worst phone when it comes to memory, first time you turn it on you will have .84gb of memory which will get full on less then 10mints. The only way you can slow this down was to butlock the phone from the HTC website and stop the automatic updates on the applications. I learned this after many complications. As far as "other " in the memory I still don't have a clue because I have not root the phone yet. The camera is not good when taking pictures of a screen or close-up plus at night. The phone is not worth more then 70 dollar. my 4 year old HTC inspire has better features, with the exception of the quad core

  • RIGHT !! WE didn't find out till after a week in ! It says no where on box or instructions that there isn't a FLASH !! How is thi possible when many outlets have this priced over $200!

  • I had got my Desire 510 from Bosst Mobile for free but having quite many issue with i: 1. After two (02) months I was able to place but not receive calls. Phone was ringing but not reacting properly when I was picking up for accepting calls. From Boost Support I was directed to HTC and second level support (from Malaysia) fixed issue and I got then upgrade to version 1.47.652.1 in "avant premiere"; before it started shipping out. 2. Micro SD-Card no more recognized: used phone during first three (03) months with 32GB micro-SD card. Then switched to 128GB micro-SD card. It worked for about one (01) month and stopped. I had unsuccessfuly tried: tuning phone of and back on, hot boot, factory reset. Now HTC provided RMA number for me to send it back to repair shop; which will take about 3-4 weeks. At this time I cannot afford replacement phone; as insurance cannot provide one. Then I am planning to buy a GSM Android phone and switch to another provider (Ultra.me ?) even though I was satisfied by almost everything ....

  • I used it as a SatNav yesterday afternoon (voice guide), and it was perfect. I thought it was better than my previous Samsung Galaxy II; by saying this I'll have to say that Samsung was on 3G and HTC510 is on 4G.

  • I love my desire 510 I've have it about 2/3 months now it spazes out like a ghost it messing with it. Started couple days delaying calls not receiving some calls or texts. Couple it be hacked or not have screen protector n it's smugs. Someone help!

  • I have had no problems with this phone, it runs everything I want it to. Internet is fast. Apps are great. This would be a perfect phone for a person just starting with smartphones. People, Its a low end phone, It's not growing to have all the perks but it's a great phone for how cheap it is.I got mine for free, and man do I love it.

  • How is the GPS working ? Is it fast ? stable ?

  • is the htc desire 510 updateabull plz

  • U get 4gb but the is takes up space so ugonly get access to a fraction of 4gb

  • just transfer some of the files like pictures + audio and most imp video files which takes lots of memory on phone - transfer this file to memory card ....it will work i do the same trick.......it works for my asus

  • omg i just got the phone and im soo out of it that i didn't even research it and then when i do i see all of these bad reviews. i know that their are pros and cons to everything but this is kinda bad for spending $115 on.

  • The problem of running out of memory is applicable to almost every Android phone but help is on the way. There are three types of memory. A memory for your operating system and that is typically about 1 GB. The second memory is usually about 8-16 GB and can be used for some apps which will operate in that memory. The third type of memory is the Micro SD card you install which typically runs between 8-64 GB. O.K. so now we know all about memory - well sort of, LOL. The first memory holds your operating system and that is NOT typically used for apps you download but sometimes IT IS depending on who WROTE the app. Some of these apps CAN BE transferred to the second or third memory types but not all can. You can try to transfer some of these apps by going to the Play Store and downloading an app for transferring programs to secondary memory. There are several in the app store so try 2 or 3 until you find the best one for your phone. Sure hope this helps. In the latest releases of Android the problem has been mostly fixed by all memory being considered just one big bucket to put stuff into. Look for more changes in the near future to eliminate this problem. But for now the app to transfer some of your apps to secondary memory should help eliminate your problem.

  • when u buy a phone that says it has 4 gb of storage. u should get 4 gb of storage. bottom line.

  • there is no false advertisement, stop trolling, every phone out there r like this. if u want 4g of free space the remove the android system. if you dont remove the system u wont get 4g of space

  • In my opinion, this phone is advertised as having 4 gb of storage. U only have access to 2 gb. It's false advertisement. Make an update that u can get rid of this pre-installed crap. 32 gb memory card doesn't do u any good if u can't put apps on it.

  • agreed..

  • I keep getting the message that my storage is low so I've been deleting things but I didn't ha e that many apps already. I bought a 32 GB sd card but it is still saying the same thing, that my storage is low. Why is it saying this?? Help please.

  • My phone had the icon of Flash mode when first getting it. Than every time I will click it would not work then after I exit out of the camera mode and went back into camera mode the flash icon was gone. wish ig would flash such a great phone...

  • I love this phone . Great size. Nice storage . Only problem is the keyboard and the camera. Which I'm pretty sure is fixable in the settings. Great phone.

  • UPDATE : ive had the phone for a week now, put a sd card in it, anyone who said you cant put anything on it is wrong. still best thing ive bought for 30 bucks. plus the sd card so now im in it like 58 bucks. totally worth it!

  • Okay, I've had this phone for about a week already and I like it but the camera! It doesn't have flash. At least mines doesn't

  • Excellent set

  • mines doing it too taking it back to the store tomorrow its only 2 weeks old :( It keeps taking screen shots when I press home when the turn off thing pops up telling me to hold the volume and power button Fab phone so fast on the internet and easy to use I don't know why its doing what it is. Such an inconvenience

  • i had the same problem, you should go back where u got the phone from and see if its use or the retail store didnt active yet.

  • this phone is probably the best thing ever. i work at a radioshack that threw everything on 70% sale and i picked one of these up for $28.00. actually i bought 2. yeah i read reviews and figured id be out 28 bucks and i would just sell it on ebay or something. well i think the display is fine, its not bad at all. the camera is a little grainy , but if i want to take a picture ill use my camera... people talk about if your hands are wet the screen acts all weird? yeah because your hands should not be wet! duh. so the actual phone it self comes with 3gb of bloatware and about 1gb left for you to use so i would go out and buy a SDcard for it. this thing can handle a 128gb so thats actually really awesome. the internet through my wifi is insainly fast. alot faster than my ipods wifi and i get horrible wifi in my room. never misses a beat. the battery life is amazing! its a li ion so check up and read up on how to get the most out of those batteries. i also found that a replacement battery for it is about $10.00 USD so that is a PLUS. so i dont actually have service for it, i activated it and just use it as like a tablet and its great. its the sprint version. i threw it on airplane mode so the battery last a little longer. i left it on for 2 days and used it bascally all on the internet and it lasted atleast 15 hours of pure usage. so in the end yeah the starage is low, buy an sd card, not the best screen res -get over it- dont use it when your hands are wet and camera is not great but i never use it so what ever. its blazing fast and i like it alot

  • Bought this phone last week but i cant make calls neither can i receive calls...did someone have a similar ordeal?

  • what the hell did you say?

  • So far I love it! I think that it's the 'perfect phone'.

  • let's talk about what works the lights come on.Media share don't work bluetooth don't work bluetooth tether doesn't work.where's my flip phone!!**

  • About 6 times a day I get a screen telling me to restart my phone with the power and volume button. It just won't go away. Anyone else have this problem or know if I'm pushing a wrong button? Please help. Driving me nuts!

  • HTC 510 is nice phone for who want budget and fast phone .. it`s good for browsing and chatting with your friends has good camera and nice response finally u will like it as well.

  • Agreed

  • How do I do that

  • This phone is fine for the price I don't care about how "crappy" people are saying the camera is, if you want amazing pictures buy a camera This is a PHONE. people are so spoiled..for the price it's a good phone its quick has a big screen looks decent does everything it should do the only issues I have so far are 1.) Internal memory sucks it's full of apps I can't get rid of but planning on buying an sd card so whatever i dont download alot anyway 2.) Phone calls seem quite. I don't particularly care about the lack of flash because I don't take pictures too often and if I were to take a picture on a phone I don't expect flawless pictures

  • is this phone a cdma or GSM ?

  • Worst phone I've ever bought. Paid $100.00 and has no flash, disconnects from WiFi when it feels like, picture quality is terrible, screen is way to touchy, called 911 on its own, keyboard makes me feel like homer simpson when he was fat fingered and mashed all the numbers on the phone when I text, memory is garbage. Don't buy this phone.

  • Why they are telling us it has 8 gb memory ? My htc has just 4 gb ussable ... And when i connect it to the computer the computer see just 4 gb of them " 4 gb memmory , 312 mb left" as an example

  • Stop complaining it's a great phone

  • Great phone for the money, not had memory issues, the camera isn't great close up, like scanning a bar code, but otherwise it's ok, screen can be a bit twitchy if it's dirty or damp as others have said, overall it's fairly quick & 4g too, big screen, and easy to use, battery also lasts well, my third HTC and I would buy again.

  • It accepts a 128gb micro sd card. Most smartphones in this price range only accept a 32gb micro sd. Thats a lot of memory for 1080p HD video, music, photos and all your apps.

  • Noooooooo

  • i wanted to buy this phone please tell me that it is good or not

  • well sad to say, HTC is made in Taiwan. lol

  • This phone moves by its self when there's jus a little bit of moist on the phone when ever it's wet , even with the sweat in your fingers it moves by it self this has been the most annoying thing about this phone

  • Set up a sandbox on the SD? How can I do that?

  • I've had this phone for 3 weeks now and so far its pretty decent . one thing I don't like is the front camera quality. My friend has the white phone and her front camera quality is waaaay better than mine.

  • I agree I had the phone once before but then changed . I recently went back like every thing about the phone BUT the memory sucks even with a sd card it's pointless because u can't move a lot too it. Even the m8 has more memory sad lil phone

  • Ts awexam

  • Just smashed mine in anger every time i would type it would freeze up and type a diffrent letter than you pressed not happy at all just waisted $200 going back to Samsung

  • I have this phone and the storage is not full after downloading 3 apps, I swear people will say anything just to put something down, this phone is great and it works perfectly

  • I have this phone and the storage is not full after downloading 3 apps, I swear people will say anything just to put something down, this phone is great and it works perfectly

  • Get around storage issues on android 4.2..... by setting up a sandbox on a microSD and load apps from the sandbox

  • I have a HTC 510 the phone does what it says before baying the phone check if the phone has flashlight and I have more then15 20 apps my phone is not full I think I brought a new one and your is not but I have no problem with my phone my wife use it and use whatapp and viber

  • Don't buy it!! Waist of money! Camera is terrible. No flash. Internal memory full after downloading about 3 apps.

  • i have constant trouble with the emergency call feature on the front . i have called the cops over ten times. the emergency feature sucks

  • Change the charger ! You forgot saying that this behavior apper only when you chrge the phone with unproper charger.

  • really it is an sucking I ever seen .I think china phone is better that this

  • It's not the greatest phone ever but it is good and it does what phones are supposed to do if you don't like it read before you buy

  • I have not had near as many storage issues with this phone as LG. At least you can insert a SD card and transfer apps, pics, video to the card. Also download clean sweeper to keep your cache files and junk cleared.

  • When I'm typing, random keys keep pressing on their own

  • At first I loved this phone but now I absolutely hate it!! It always tells me I have no room on my phone to download anything on it when I have barely anything on it.! So frustrated that I wasted $115 dollars on it!

  • How do I make the hotspot work???!!!???

  • how do i make the mobile hotspot work???!!!???

  • i will not you over-clock the CPU even possible can over clocking. It will cost your CPU itself more heats, and your phone will become stabilized

  • You paid in Amazon as a refurbished or used phone, may be the person who was using it before have problem with the phone, I brought this HTC desire 510 since the day one when released on brand new condition, I have no problem at all, can di whatever i need. I cannot see any problem with it, I paid $149 for it plus Tax, I am still using it..today

  • uses

  • OK , i enabled ART and forced GPU , how to turn on max CPU ?

  • Htc desire 510 sucks. Not even 24 hrs with it and it turned off on its own like wtf htc! Dont like it, and now im stuck with it, paid $100 on amazon for it cant even return it now. t-__-t

  • Actually it's spelling and not grammar.

  • Has any one else have a problem instilling or downloadin the new software update every time I try it downloads almost half way thn I get a red triangle thn it restarts any one hlp me I tried every thing

  • Totally agree ... the Desire 510 has been driving my crazy .... i have a 32 gig card and still cant load apps on it for the most part. The ph space is always filled .. I tried deleting everything I could. So disappointed as I have the damn space for it on the card.

  • You have to goto Qualcomm and turn it off. I believe the new software update fixed that. Had the same issue around Wi-Fi

  • Beyond terrible. Mediocre keyboard. Memory space is ridiculous. Preloaded useless apps take up most of the memory, doesn't give you the option to install new apps ontappse external memory card. I can't even update anything due to lack of memory space. Plus no back flash! Word of advice, DON'T BUY THIS CRAP PHONE!

  • Man.....iv just had the phone for a week nd it's kol nd all but I dislike it a lot....camera suks pictures come out horrible....I really miss the flashing led tho....I must say I gotta go bk tomy old phone.....this phone needs to b recalled plis

  • Just add no led from the playstore.

  • ...just wanted to ask is there a faking front LED indicator installed into the brick of the phone? ty alot...

  • Got one for free for staying with Cricket. I was still using a battered Kyocera Hydro, so this thing was like a breath of fresh air to me. Screen could be a bit more responsive, the colors aren't phenomenal (let's face it, nothing will live up to Retina), but it covers the basic 5 apps everyone uses really well and its data speeds are really good. Google ecosystem is strong here. Blinkfeed is a useless waste of runtime, but is easily disabled. Of course, it is the herald of the 64 bit Android era, and it came in unceremoniously, seeing as KitKat is not 64-bit compatible. Newer phones will outpace it. BUT THIS PHONE IS A SLEEPER. If one uncovers the developer options, they have the choice of switching to Android's new ART compiler, which is the herald of ARMv8 processors. This phone becomes a different animal when a user switches away from Jarvik and forces max CPU usage and forced GPU rendering. Apps are loaded by time my finger leaves the screen! And just wait until Android 5.0 is released by HTC for the Desire series in May 2015 - this phone may have been forgotten by then, but mark my words, this will not be the same phone once the Aarch64 OS hits!

  • I have never written a review on a phone but I must say don't get waste your money. I lost my moto g and I wanted to try something different. I drive a lot and need to talk on the speaker. It sucks. U can't even hear out it. I tried to take picture and omg!!!! The quality is horrible. The .backcamera doesn't have a flash and even in the daylight it still delivers bad pics. YouTube keeps installing a new version and it's irritating.

  • Im thinking between this phone and Alcatel Idol Mini 2 The performance is better on HTC and i know that this phone is better than Alcatel but still looking for opinions? Thanks

  • They have better phones 'know'. No, the correct word would be 'now'. Don't correct one's grammar, unless you are certain it needs correction.

  • I gotta say i really love this phone. All the haters go buy S5 and than expect enormous preformance, this phone is very cheap for its specs. Only thing I miss is LED flash and maybe that you can change menu screen,I hate it to be all gray/black while searching for an app.

  • is dis usable...

  • The phone is pure trash. I'm not going to sugar coat anything. The display is terrible. While you scroll down it is VERY choppy and unfocused. The speaker is on the back, which makes it hard to hear although it's not like the speaker is loud anyways. The phone feels like recycled plastic. The camera is worse than ... I dont even know. It's terrible. And while typing fast like I am now it tries to combine the last word I typed with the letters I'm typing now. Phone does SUPER quick, and takes FOREVER to charge. Mobile Hotspot doesn't even work on it either. In short, while I can't, I'd rather go back to my ZTE Source N9511 or hurry and get my HTC One Unlocked.

  • Haha they used the term "know" correctly "grammar nazi"

  • I bought this phone from sprint network as a prepaid phone. Pros: 1. Low cost 2. external memory extendable to 128GB 3. Feels light 4. Good performance considering the price Cons: 1. only 4 GB internal memory 2. Lots of Sprint and HTC preloaded apps (almost all useless) 3. Cannot remove the preloaded apps 4. Phone vibrates now and then without any input (even when locked)

  • No one made you get the phone

  • I have. One only couple of weeks and it vibrates all the time.some one help it is annoying

  • does everyone know why the wireless and data mobile turn on when i unlock the screen? its like this ... i turn off wireless and data mobile and i lock the screen , when i unlock the screen the wireless and data mobile turn on automatic :( someone can help me pls :D

  • I have a week with phone and I'm not pleased at all .It gets so hot and discharges the battery in few hours sometimes and then sometimes it just shut down instead of resetting. They keyboard freezes most of the time

  • Who is "they"? And please learn the difference between "know" and "now".

  • Wow, there sure are a lot of ZTE fan-boys on here. Actually, I'm surprised ZTE has ANY fan-boys considering how crappy their phones are. I've had LG, HTC, ZTE, and Samsung phones and the ZTE's were the worst - unresponsive screens, constant wi-fi connection problems, and a lack of resources. We have 4 HTC Desire 510's, which replaced 3 ZTE Awe's and a Samsung Galaxy S3. The 510 is a slight step down from the S3, but it was worth it to get off of Virgin Mobile. Coverage is much better with Cricket, and the free HTC made it all worthwhile. I could not justify paying so much more for the S4 or S5, so I'm enjoying the HTC.

  • So far I love this phone. Feels good, love keyboard, camera is mediocre. Down side, no flash. But what do you expect for a low cost phone. Everything else I love. My main gripe is all the pre loaded apps that take the already small amount of memory. No good. We should be able too choose the apps we want on our phone. Also, needs more memory!! I only have a few apps and I'm already out of memory. Pain in the rear...

  • The camera has some really nice features, and I prefer it over the 8MP in my S3.

  • So many double negatives I just don't know what to say. I'm quite positive that by the end of your comment, you said the phone wonderful and you love it.

  • I purchased the Virgin Mobile Prepaid version because it was $29 on Black Friday. The unit has 4 GB internal memory of which 3.7 Gb is used after activation. Some of this is Virgin Mobile Bloatware but most came from HTC. Nothing can be removed without rooting and none of it can be moved to SD. The phone is absolutely useless to me as there is no room to install anything.

  • They actually have have better phones know

  • Cricket dosent have mice music anymore ..

  • what I find funny is people complaining about the camera, who can see the difference in 5 MP and 12 MP , sounds like conditioning to rhetoric to me, the human eye can not see that difference

  • i have the htc desire 510. and i love it. some people just want to much. but for it,s price. i think it,s pretty cool. true there are a few things it lacks. etc no flash for camera. battery life is good. considering the size of screen etc.

  • Why is so many people complaining about the camera having no flash. You should have checked the phone before you brought it.

  • It's awsome works better then the Kyocera event I had.

  • omg i had the htc one i so regret getting this htc desire it suks it dosent come with flash...muve music or nothing n it feels way more cheaper than the htc one!!!! i paid 400 for my htc one i cant believe cricket is making ppl get this lame ass phone n this one is worth less than 100 omg i soo regret this!!!

  • My family liked the ZTE on Cricket and on Black Friday we got these phones for free. NO ONE likes them. We don't always get texts that are sent, the functions are only fair, and the phone is not easy to use. The phone does NOT have a flash therefore the flashlight APP doesn't work. It is simply not a good phone.

  • Hie guys wanted to know if the HTC Desire 510 (A11) Blue - No Contract Phone (Sprint Prepaid)would work internationally on other GSM carriers... besides SPRINT

  • I have cricket wireless and I had a ZTE source...but cricket is changing to a new network so my ZTE won't work..so they gave me a HTC 510... Well it sucks my ZTE is better in every way I hate this phone . The 510 doesn't have a light to tell you you have texts or messages... The keyboard is hard to get used to..no light for the camera...the transition from screen to screen is ok but the wallpaper doesn't flow with it..as for speed on the web it's the same ..in tack might be slower then the ZTE I don't get it why promote a crapy phone instead of keeping the ZTE it's way better ..I just wish I could find a way to get my ZTE on another network because that's the only thing cricket has for now..but as for the 510 don't get it..I wish I didn't

  • no body cares.

  • LG L series sucks, plastic, very cheap, rubbish quality, very slow, hard to text on, heavy and ugly, I should know. My fiancè gave our son a lg l50 because he broke his Iphone 4

  • It can get upgradable to Android Lolipop????

  • Is that phone GSM and cdma?

  • Your opinion of a cheap phone is LG? Haha. I laugh. LG's are one of the top brands That aren't very well bought and known. The LG G series is one of the best phones out on the market ATM. They have amazing graphic processors. Ram. Screen quality. TBH I would prefer an LG over a Samsung Galaxy s3,s4,s5. I phones, Sony xperias the whole bunch.

  • It depends how demanding you are.

  • horrible camera, pretty much horrible phone

  • Great phone! Great camera! Great Display! I love it! Display is good, but viewing angles not so much! Great Build! Ok camera... Smooth! Runs games perfectly! Only bad thing is storage. The camera is bad, but awesome for the price! Why does everyone hate this phone? It's awesome!

  • I checked with HTC, and the Desire 510 does not have an led indicator for incoming messages.

  • I have had mine for two days and hate it!!!!!!

  • I was very excited to get my hands on the HTC Desire 510, i was truly in suspense to pull it out of the box. The phone has a good display although it is only a 800 by 480 display. Or something very close to that. As i began to use the phone I started to really appreciate the smooth effects that the quad core processor provided me. everything was great, the hardware is absolutely lovely. The build quality is so great it makes me want to hold it all day. Just when i thought i had the bets phone on the market, i turn it around and noticed a missing piece that is equipped with every new smartphone. A......FLASH. but its okay, i can live without a flash, its okay. its okay right? That is, IF the camera is of good quality, so that led me to venture towards the camera application. This was the moment of my life were i began to rethink my whole existence. November 26th 2014 I Robert Turner pressed down on the camera button to reveal what i can honestly say is without a doubt the WORST DAMN CAMERA I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. LIKE WHAT IN THE SAM HELL DID THEY PUT IN THE BACK OF THAT POOR HTC DESIRE. As i began to bring my shaking (of anger ofcourse) I managed to flip to the front camera in a desperate hope of a decent picture. Buutttttttt guess what dude. I found myself looking at what LOOKED like my face, but more of a wax paper filter that someone had accidentally dropped in fresh dog shit. So at this point I had nothing left to do but set down this wasted piece of resources, and just walked away, shaking my head.

  • Yeah, this phone is quite attractive but only 208pix is not good for high graphics gamer (over 1 or 1.5 GB ) in my opinion, even u can hav problem running high quality videos.Accept This its best phone at this coast after Moto G (2nd Generation).See Price Below : USA = $160 UK = £140 EU= 150

  • I bought my phone 11/26/14, and I want to know the answer also.

  • This phone is going back tomorrow. Got it today. Picture quality is horrible and no flash? ??? Come on.

  • does it have a lit message indicator?

  • without LED flash the camera is rubbish!

  • Could someone tell me why my htc doesn't have a mobile network sharing option? It says to go to that to setup hotspot but the problem is I don't have the mobile network sharing option.

  • I found a way to REMOVE some of the BS apps that at first appeared to me permanent eaters of my storage on the phone. Go into Manage Apps and tick down the list until you get to an app you want to remove. Select it and hit uninstall updates. You will then see a prompt asking if you want to replace app with the factory version. Click okay and the app will uninstall. Also, to make sure it's dead, click disable and unclick the blue box. Let me know if this helps anyone.

  • Yeah mine aren't sending

  • How many money??? To buy?

  • It's very, very fast! Unfortunately, it's very fast at accosting you with bloated crap. I've tried quite hard to minimise the spurious alerts and services running. Do people actually LIKE this HTC Dot View thing? No, I don't want to sign up to the HTC backup service; what is this, the Columbia Record Club? And yet, it's apparently impossible to truly stop these things, even if you disable them manually. Or, ideally, remove them. When nearly 90% of your internal storage isn't available for you to use, I think there's cause for serious concern. No, really, turn off automatic updates because you're going to run out of room. I freed up something like 400MB just by rolling back to factory versions on things I don't care about, but 8GB should really be CAVERNOUS for my needs; this is a device that desperately needs root just so a basic pecking order can be established. The bezel is a bit thick, so it may give you trouble even if your hands are on the larger side. I certainly didn't expect that those couple millimetres on either side would be so significant. Coupled with the lack of HTC's signature "chin", my grip on the handset doesn't feel very sure. But the biggest disappointment is surely the screen. This isn't an IPS display. This isn't SuperLCD either. AMOLED? Nope. My 2007 Dell TN panels have better viewing angles than this and the colour temperature is QUITE cold. To top it off, there's no oleophobic coating, so using it at all results in skin oils everywhere. I thought I was getting a steal of a deal at $80 with $35 credit on my account (so basically $45), but now I feel like I overpaid a bit.

  • htc desire 510 works in india???? please tell me ..

  • So...is it just me or there's no equalizer in the phone? As an audiophile, it's very sad :'( (´・_・`)

  • Yes. I agree 100%. Every time I want to download an app I have to uninstall the updates to one or more of the preloaded apps that I don't use in the first place, because I can't just do away with them entirely.

  • I just got one of these with Boost Mobile, and I'm pretty happy with it so far except for the fact that even though I put a brand new 16gig SD card in it it keeps telling me I have insufficient space every time I try to download an app... Because there are so many apps I can't uninstall, for example, it came with Facebook preloaded and it takes up at least 50mb and I don't even use Facebook anymore yet I can't get rid of it... I'm also not happy with the fact that there's no flash on the camera which means no flashlight... I just found that out today when I went to use my flashlight app and saw it only lights up the front screen...

  • Hi! I can't find out what is consuming airtime on my device. Any help would be appreciated. Rgds.

  • I paid $179 AUD and I am extremely pleased. For a real cheap smart phone it's awesome. Why people are complaining is beyond me. You want a flash or any other premium stuff then buy a more expensive phone. This phone is incredible for the price you pay. Its speed is really good. Apps download very quick. My average download speedis 41mbps and upload 18mbps.

  • From the HTC web site: "Approximately 0.9 GB storage available for user content." Seriously???

  • Krisy...you will find the hotspot in Settings > More > Mobile Network Sharing. It's the first item that comes up on the screen. It works pretty well.

  • I think if this phone does not have basics like LED flash and it also has lower resolution screen, but what HTC has cleverly done is that they have made up this by giving a first in the segment 64 processor. And that is a good thing considering its price and I dont think U can expect any more considering its price tag.

  • Just got this and after a week of using am disappointed with it, its lags a lot and the screen is not as responsive. The lock button for me is situated to far away so is awkward. I was a previous Lumia user and thought I would try something different but having tried this its a no from me WP OS is some much better for me more fluid. I don't like the experience at all so moving away from this handset.

  • Good phone for the price. Flash would be nice and the camera could be better. Screen brightness is also pretty bad when tilted. My main problem is sending texts. It seems out of the 100 or so texts I've sent, I've had to power off my phone about 3 times because the messages won't go through. I thought it was something with Telus but it sends fine when I turn the phone back on. I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue but it's pretty irritating to have to power my phone down every hour

  • Its a nice phone but the fact that it doesn't have a flash is disappointing and no hotspot. I haven't had it 24 hours yet. Very disappointed.

  • This phone in terms of quality for price is second to none. The quality of pixilation and the camera is superb and in my opinion trumps the iphone everytime. Charges quickly and lasts the whole day with ease. 10/10.

  • Wish I'd seen this before I bought it because I totally agree and am still in utter disbelief that in today's world anyone would manufacture a smart phone that's not smart enough to tell you that you missed a text message.

  • The apps put on it takes up too much space so it barely lets you download anything

  • Check out Nokia Lumia 1020 (and 818) and admit you were wrong :) And back to the business. The Desire 510 seems... well, desirable. The only thing keeping me from getting it is the fear of ending up with an abondened device. Supportwise, that is.

  • comparing many HTC models and other brands is realy have very noticed pattern like ( Performance Vs. price, UI Vs Value, OS Vs Price again, Customer experiance Vs. work / life style we can still see that HTC is the most concentrated Brand on these criteria, i still see that the best value that comes along with best performance, UI, OS version, Camera quality (8 is very good) is the HTC Desire 500 ( back in 2013) Quad-core 1.2, 8M camera, with HTC sence 5 and powered by Beats Audio is the best in terms of value ( i have one for 220 USD), now the Desire 510 is a good improvemnt for that but not in the camera and Audio sides ... please HTC we need Desire 520 ( which is a Desire 510 in everything + HTC Desire 500 camera and Audio specs for the same price :-))

  • now i going to buy htc816, it is a good phone my friends told me so i get the phone and tell about feedback...

  • Good smart phone

  • Well I love the phone but when it comes to downloading apps its too slow .also the zero is to close to the call button

  • Love the phone bummer that there's no flash but no big deal. It's just slow with app downloads

  • It has no flash! That is a big no no. I can't capture pictures at night witch suckss!

  • Phone is not bad...but lacks in the screen resolution at 480 and you can tell with a nearly 5 in screen. It runs snappy though with quad core processor 1.2 Gh. Brightness is an issue if your in sun or only part sun, have mine turned all the way up. Other than that it's a good phone for the price.

  • Do not have LED flash lights....I big no no

  • Why do so many people talk about looks when the phone is put in a protective case anyway, lol?

  • Great phone.Period. To the naysayers who complain about the poor camera, buy the more expensive m8 if you want to use it for a more photographic purpose. This can be considered a more 'budgeted' option(though it performs remarkably well in most aspects), so the camera won't be great. Though Imho, all phone cameras are craps anyways, then again, we all have our standards. As for flash, I guess it is convenient to be able to capture moments in all types of lighting. Again, Buy the m8 if you want flash. If you are one of the people complaining about poor camera abilities alongside the absence of flash, note that direct flash is crap as it makes faces look oily and color look super flat, you also get unnecessary highlights in your photos.

  • In last 6 month, i changed 5 mobile phone and this one is number 6. I used Jolla, Sony xperia Z, Z1, Z1 compact, Nexus 5. I was very much pleased with xperia devices because of waterproofness and battery as i m working in a place where i have to use water all the time. After that i tried to xperience stock android of Nexus 5 which is one the worst mobile phone in this year. Just 1 week i used to then returned it to the seller. Yesterday i bought 510 and i have to say, i am very much pleased of it's performance. It cost 170 euro but it's performance is like 350 euro's mobile phone. Though it has a poor camera but i have a DSLR, so that is not a problem. Also there is no equaliser in music menu but i m using now jetaudion plus. Net speed is tooooo much fast with 3g mobile network. No lag, screen brightness is soooo far good. overall i m satisfied with this mobile. btw, interface is sooo beautiful. whoever just a phone with good battery, fast internet connection and a beautiful design, i recommend to go with this phone's white version. Thanks HTC, i m back. Sony ericsson live with walkman-HTC sensation XL-Samsung galaxy s4-Lumia 625-Jolla-Sony xperia Z+z1+z1 compact-Nexus 5 and lastly HTC desire 510

  • I just bought the HTC Desire 510 and can't see why the complaints. It is a great phone for the money. The big difference between this phone and the IPhone and galaxy is that they invest heavily on sleek look and feel, which I don't care for. I like the rogued look the most. A quad processor with 64bits capability. This is the format of the future.

  • Phone looks to be lpwer spec than a htc one mini so you could call it a mini one mini. The quad core is only 1.2ghz so its not very good quad core, so dont be fooled. The performance u'll get would be something akin to a dual core 1.5ghz phone. Quite shocked to see it has no camera all pjone from 2012 tjat are android have been packing flash so for htc to go with this omission is strange. Pictures can look grainy in low light with no flash

  • I am using Warid 4G sim which band 3 and LTE compatible with frequency of 1800. Can I buy this phone for testing?

  • Nice phone for a 10 year old.poorly designed for an adult.

  • I got this phone to do 64-bit ARM development when Android L is available, so I don't intend to use it as my daily phone. As a budget phone, it doesn't compare well to the Moto G. The display is the lower quality TFT that inverts and washes out when you view it off-angle. The cameras (front and rear) are tolerable in good light and awful in low light. It's heavy and thick. The performance is reasonable, but seems to hiccup every so often. The only good things I have to say about it is that it has a removable battery and microSD slot.

  • Nice

  • I dis agree with flash makes phone ugly and .... but about flash makes pictures flat,ye it does.flash also change the face skin natural color to disappointing color.but in dark places flash is necessary.

  • I Think You Need Some Good Education On Led Flash.

  • We need flash, because we mostly use in the party at night.

  • Its a good thing this phone doesn't have flash, one of many reasons are that the flash makes the phone look ugly, as most of the time the flash is just added because it will help sell the phone, also the thing people forget is that having a flash on the camera makes the photos look flat, and well in my opinion ugly.

  • I absolutely love The HTC Desire 510 regardless of the flash and if you know you will be needing a flash on your phone Then dont get it its plain and simple! Overall I LO VE IT!! :)

  • I just can´t stop laughing :-D. 1st why everybody is crying for flash? You wanna take photos in night with phone??? Are you serious guys :-D? Buy a compact camera! 2nd our eye can recognize i think just 300 ppi - every more he will not recognize as better (because of biology in the eye :-P). Plus my phone has 160 ppi and I find it very good. This have 208 ppi so I am very pleased with that :-). THIS PHONE is quick, big screen, batery sustainability, new android, perfect HTC Sense, low price. I can´t wait to have it home ;-).

  • It would have been nice and easy-to-use if htc 510 would have been provided with a flashlight. I strongly feel that flashlight is a mandatory feature that is provided in almost all the mobile phones, yet htc did't feel it necessary to provide a simple, yet useful feature i.e. flashlight !!!!

  • desire 510 could've been an awesome fone if htc had given a better screen resolution..around >250 ppi..screen toooo bad..

  • Yes last time was laggy & phone over heated because the htc os is Not optimized but from jelly bean 4.2 onward till the kitkat os 4.4 vast improvement took place..the HTC ui is very smooth and totally diffent compare before. I bet im using htc one xl 2012,HTC desire 601..and now planning the HTC desire 820 64bit processor octacore, 8mp front facing camera compare to iPhone 6 miss match..hardware was from 2010 technology although 20mmm nano tech but still dualcore camera still 8mp front 1.2mp only..maybe only improve in battery life...

  • htc killed sales of its Desire 510 before lunching it.How cost to put flash next to camera .You r best company, but sometimes you product without thinking for your sales and your fame.

  • what??????????????? are you kidding?????????? htc has the best and smoothness UI and htc phones would work properly and better than other android phones.i worked with these brand and I have experiences about it and don't tell you ecstasy or fanaticatly. I worked with asus padphone2,xperia z and sp E1,BB z10,galaxy s dous1,grand1 and S4,Huawei p6 and lg G and G pro and nokia 920 and 520 and ... .but htc has premium design and quality but htc UI(sense) is very better than other phones in android.in android just htc and nothing more.i said and say again,in IOS the phone is clear to choose , in android it's clear too, just htc. please write with reality not your party spirit, thanks.

  • the htc is very bad mobile phone there too mucj hanging problems why we spent more money on that bad phones

  • Noo flash...otherwise I would have preferred it..

  • There is No Flash...it's Big Problem.....

  • why spoil htc and desire 510,i think some comment and post are jealousy. please flash back to desire 310. it is an entery level price with quad core 1.3 and 1g of ram(there is 512 too but 1 is much in market), 310 equipped with mali 450mp2 and ... 310 has just 140euro with excellent specs for that price. desire 510 is some thing like 310 and it would appear in entery level price.and how Samsung is no.1?no.1 in what?! in sale and cheating,in awful quality and ... I tested, desire 310 is far better than s3mini and galaxy s dous1&2.very better than xperia m,l and c, lg g80 series.yes htc is very better than other brands.some brands are different.htc have to compare with apple and nokia not with cheap brands like samcheat or lg and Huawei or Lenovo(Lenovo is excellent in laptop but not in phone until yet).other brands fans and bigoted person to rush to htc pages and like to spoil htc!!!!! be aware those person are started with some imposter brands.remember Samsung commissioned campaign against htc and one M7(Samsung pay 340.000$ penalty for that dirty job).for sure if compare desire 510 with same level in other brands htc would win. I experienced D310 for 2monthes and it was excellent in that price and this phone would be too.thanks htc for covering every level and budget.

  • not even half as good as the Lenovo s660 .

  • a very good smartphone by HTC and i am sure its far better than Samsung.

  • Nokia lumia 730 is far better than this htc bad phone

  • we want this phone

  • Samsung Only No.1 Mobile

  • HTC phones are known for good looks and design. I am so used to HTC sense that I hate to use other phones. But I don't know why they are so slow in software updates. And why they are not bringing good competitive phones in market compared to Motorola and Xiomi and all. If they have to be in market, they must be competitive and they would certainly have their own customer base.

  • Wow !! What hTC is doing !! No doubt its a good phone but without LED flash its not a complete phone either . . . . . :-( . . . Think before buying as for your needs . . . .

  • Oh horror, this is the new HTC Wildfire, which is one of the 5 worst phones of all time, no doubt, maybe even THE worst. HTC has a VERY bad track record in this segment, stay clear, as far away as possible. Horrible displays, worst cameras, no software updates even for critical defects, everything that made Wildfire a nightmare will be on this list as well.

  • Look at the lower area bazles... No boom sound speaker then too pretty huge area wasted just for a microphone?? Uhhh... Why HTC wants every phone to be looks alike One??

  • In my opinion HTC Desire 510 is a great mobile. I have HTC Desire C now, and I am happy with him. All what I miss on HTC Desire C (bigger screen, front camera, quicker processor and bigger RAM and ROM, newer android, bigger battery) all those thinks HTC Desire 510 have. HTC Desire C display have 165 ppi and although it is not full HD I found it really nice, bright and colorfull. I have never though: "Oh what a terrible display i have :-D." And HTC Desire 510 have 208 ppi so it is better than now. The other think is that HTC Desire 510 with his specifications will sustain longer on battery than other phones with better specifications. And last thing is that even the cheapest compact digital camera will always do better photos than any mobile (even flag ships) - because of bigger lens, chip, better parameters. Thats why I will certainly buy him :-).

  • ur wirte

  • HTC is making it self worst but at first it was the best but now all the other companys are redusing the price and building quality, but HTC why I dosen''t know why HTC could not make a good quality phone below 12000 rs and get competition with the other companys,if its keep going like this HTC company will closes, for example I'm their home country MI 3 and MI 4 became the international standard companys with just 2 product MI 3 and MI 4 and why don't HTC make like that???????????????????????????????????????????????

  • These days so many companys came in to smartphone industry its became very competative But HTC could't able to catch the market if it continues HTC will won't have future.

  • Dual sim. 1 miss

  • It's an entry-level smartphone that's why it has a lower resolution which isn't that bad. Oh btw, this is the 1st 64-bit powered android device as well as the first device to be powered by Snapdragon 410.

  • u r htc phone are totally waste which is compared to htc one. plz bring back beats audio and camera increase mega pixel. and also battery power. battery power is totally waste.

  • why awful or bad display in 2014????? it has better display in compare to grand neo(5.01"/186ppi!!!) and core lite lte(4.7"-199ppi/more than 250$!!!!!!!!). please don't destroy htc. and why htc is going to far from glamour?????? htc chief said :"we have to focus on midrange and entery level too". htc just concentrate on flagship(one M7) and loose a lots of client.every body couldn't buy expensive gadget and each company needs cover all tacts and all budgets.thanks htc for new works punishment.they cover every budget.if you have every kind of cash could choose from htc.desire 210,310,300,400, or 816 ,610,616,516 or one mini2, one M8,one e8,butter2,one M8 windows and ...... these are new collection and you have other excellent choice like one,one max and ... with the lower price as they could have. please don't spoil htc. thanks htc for variety in price, models and putput and tact. all of them have high quality.thanks htc.

  • How wonderful. Having 64bit processor is good :) must have and affordable

  • not more than 100$ would be fine.

  • Unless it is cheeper than Moto G. it won't sell. crappy display in 2014.

  • launch price in india would be appx 15k... fairly costly....

  • is this the phone are good?

  • good
