HTC Desire 526 - User Reviews

  • No complaint I bought the phone in January2017 but up to date the phone has never grown weak,it has maintained its original color

  • Purchased New Desire 526 during May 2016. Phone has performed very well. Not a gamer, nor a gamer's phone, not a problem for me. Yahoo Finance app DOES NOT work at all on this phone. Might be due to underdeveloped or unsupported software. Has been dropped on the floor many times, screen did not break and it continues to work very well. Phone speaker is very low quality.

  • ce phone, have been using this phone for more than 2.5years, no lag or slow performance. value for money guarenteed.

  • Best value phone I have ever had. Two years ago, the VZW payment plan was $5 per month for 2 years ($120?), but the exact phone purchased at Family Dollar as a Pre-paid phone was only about $20 (now my spare phone). Only drawbacks - 8GB instead of 16GB means less apps to be stored. Also, only 2.4ghz (no 5.0ghz) but still speedy enough. Camera is pretty good. I wish I was smart enough to flash the phone to get rid of pre-installed apps (like NFL and a few more) and update the Android version. Battery consumption is variable, based on running and installed apps, WiFi and Data usage.

  • nyc phone used more thand 2 yr...no problm at all...

  • They have already released the version Marshmello 6.0.1 and brings those who have updated it

  • cool phone rough and tough no hardware and software problem in 2 years

  • my htc phone bought 5 months ago but now dosenot display contacts name but when i add new contact shows battery storge is full how can i get recovery

  • I have had this phone and model for a year now. Still goes strong. Still loads fast. Good battery life. Dropped it a dozen times without much wear or tear (no protective case). Worth the cash.

  • Bought this HTC Desire 526,after 2 weeks the screen just blacked out,but the phone is ringing also the message tone.Maybe factory fault,i do not know.I like this brand.

  • Yeah return the stolen phone then you won't have to worry about cracking the owners password

  • It's both......

  • I've owned Motorola & Samsung products, but didn't have very high expectations for a $34.00 phone. I Was pleasantly surprized for the features I got for the price I paid. It's got everything I need and it just proves how we've all been ripped-off by technology price mark-ups that come down after being on the market for awhile! Hell when v.c.r.s first came out they were a thousand bucks! 8 waited until the price came down, but still paid over $500, 00 for my betamax dinosaur! Today it isn't worth 50cents.

  • This phone is cheap for a reason! As low as $34 now at dollar stores! Touchscreen is wonky and often have to press things multiple times to do anything! 1.5 gb ram is not good when processor is extremely low end budget Snapdragon 210. Had 1st gen moto g with snap 400 and 1gb ram and it was faster! And I still have 2.8gb user available memory. This phone only comes with 3.4 out the box. The screen is qhd and gets hot and warm during use even on low brightness. Also the plug on the wall charger gets extremely HOT!! The phone also has about 27 HTC bloatware apps pre-installed and several of those are language packs. Anyways the only good thing about this phone is the design is nice, a little boring compared to most HTC phones. The build quality is top notch but HTC is known for that. Glad I only paid 34$ for mine and not 79-99$ at most places a couple of months ago. Just can't recommend even at 34$ , can find older model used flagships for not much more. Since this phone is so cheap there are reasons why, and some of the things I listed are probably it.

  • The front of this phone is a fingerprint magnet! One of the worst. Even after cleaning my hands before using it, after I'm done I have to wipe off screen everytime! The back is smudge prone as well, but it's the back so I just leave it haha. :D

  • I've went through three of them all screwed up before Walmart warranty was out I'll never get another one junk

  • The lock button seems to be broke, and I cannot turn on my phone after it died.

  • check conectivity specs, this cellphone is dualband GSM 850 / 1900 2G networks!

  • I agree with most people that say this is a darn good device. And it really is. It has 1.5 GB of RAM which is a plus, it has a pretty good 2mp front camera, the speaker is really loud (in my opinion), and overall the performance with Android 5.1 with HTC Sense 7 is solid. You really get the bang for your buck with this one!

  • Phones not bad for 40 bucks

  • Pretty darn good for what I paid for it. I would recommend getting one.

  • Pretty damn good, I just got this phone today for 34 bucks at a dollarstore! If you wan't a Phone pick that one up

  • I bought mine at Walmart online. I use to buy LG's but they never lasted 3 months be4 problems. This HTC 526 at this time after a few months seems to be a great fone for the cost. Very fast. Great signal. Speaker n earpiece are loud enough. You can move most downloaded apps to sd card. Very happy at this time with the fone.

  • Common, that screen resolution in 2015?! No one puts that anymore.

  • Bootloop troubleshooting after Update G o ogle for " 1.00.401.1-ota.zip " , on forum. gsm hosting you will find link. Download Stock Rom and copy it to your SDcard.install it via Recovery (VolDown+Power or VolUp+VolDown+Power >recovery).select apply update from sdcard and find your downloaded stock rom.

  • took an update from htc sync manager a few days ago and bricked my phone, walmart wont take it back, verizon wont do anything except sell me a new phone, and htc wont give me the rom file, and they want me to send in the device. does anyone know of a rom that i could flash, as i am restricted to bootloader and basic menu due to the corrupted rom that was apparently not accompanied with a checksum. i am so pissed that i just bought this phone less than a month ago and non of the companies associated with selling it to me will just friggin fix the problem that they caused. like pain and suffering and lost income from leaving me high and dry.

  • 3G not verified that work is very poor please check the all settings for. the device I purchased from one month ago

  • Ok, so maybe it is an entry level phone... Not everyone needs one with huge amounts of whiz bang. You don't like it.... So what... Don't buy it... I bought one and and it suits my needs just fine! Not everyone on the planet wants or needs the world at their fingertips. Buy a phone that works for you... And thanks to Virizon for turning me on to this phone. It's great! (For me)

  • very nice look

  • No Cdma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gsm

  • Hello guys can you tell me thi's phone is CDMA and GSM model yes?

  • Hello guys can you tell me thi's phone, only CDMA models?

  • Outdated specs.

  • It is very nice phone.

  • The new HTC Desire 526 come to Latin America, it is better to 1.5Gb ram, and 210 64-bit processor.

  • I regret selling the HTC Vivid is very good, I will buy the new HTC Desire 526

  • Fantastic one ..just got mine and I am liking it so much.

  • are you kidding?this is entry level and you like to compare it with sony z compact?! no it's not fair play.all of new htc entry level:desires 626,626s,526 and 520 are entery level and if look at desire 626s price(129$) you will find out these phones are entry level with the very good price

  • Close, but no cigar. Nice design, nice screen size. If it had hardware that could compete with Sony's Z Compact series, this would be excellent.
