  • CDMA technology was introduced in 2005 and currently there are five CDMA2000 operators. Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) moved to CDMA2000 service supplier and has ZTE EVDO Rev. 0 network and all island covered 1x data service. Suntel www.suntel.lk and Lanka Bell www.lankabell.com are using 800 MHz range. Both operators have islandwide 1x data service and these days trying to enter EVDO rev0 data market. DBN and Tritel are expecting to enter the Sri Lanka CDMA2000 market in June 2007 on 450 MHz. Among the five operators, Lanka Bell has the largest CDMA2000 market share.

  • NO. It's CDMA. only GSM networks work in the Philippines

  • to those who want to know whether they can use the phone in Ghana or not, the answer is yes. Once unlocked, the phone can take the MTN sim or any other gsm sim in Ghana. Let your dealer unlock it for you, or you send it to the MTN office near you or any other network's office and get it unlocked to the network.

  • Can I use the HTC EVO 4g in the Philippines? please answer back before i ship the phone..thanks

  • I've had this phone for about 2 years. It is okay but extremely slow on the Sprint network. I've noticed while browsing the internet for a couple minutes and closing it, the phone takes a while to close and refresh the screen.

  • Please can i insert MTN sim card in this phone in Ghana???

  • I've had an EVO 4G for a little more than 2 years, during which it has been very disappointing in multiple aspects. The screen has extremely uneven brightness, with an area about the size of a pencil eraser in the center of the screen that is conspicuously brighter than the rest of the screen. Reception has always been worse than any of my previous phones (same carrier). Despite promise of 4G speed (still waiting!), it is agonizingly slow. It is also slow, as compared with other comparable phones, when changing from one app to another. One week after the warranty expired, it began crashing/rebooting. It is especially likely to do so if used to access the web for more than 2 or 3 minutes, and is nearly certain to happen if used while charging. (I thought it might be from overheating, but it does the same thing outdoors in freezing weather or while sitting on top of a squirrel-cage blower). In the last 6 months, it sometimes fails (intermittently) to connect via USB, and the external speaker stops working more often that not. I strongly regret buying it, and will never buy another HTC product.

  • Amazon

  • I love my EVO 4G, and plan to keep it for awhile, but the last few months my battery has been dying way to frequently, even without using it. Sprint is charging $50 for a new battery, which is a bit much in my opinion. Order one form Amazon, using it for about 48 hours it still has about 40% battery life (with light usage). My old battery didn't last 12 hours, even with light usage.

  • - I have set up my alarm clock for a specific time to wake up but it is not going off, and only vibrates but nothing else, so when it is time to sound to wake up the phone is sitting doing nothing. - The SD Card says that it is full, and can not take any pictures or videos that the phone has, so I don't know how to clear the SD Card inside the phone. - I can not synchronize it because does not allow me to do so, and gives me different options but I want to sinchronize it through Google but not with Microsoft Outlook 2007 which used to work better before but in my case is a total chaos, so finally it is impossible to sinchronize anything. - Mostly it is impossible to sinchroinze the contacts either to Outlook 2007 or to Google. you can contact me @ 305-200-7677 or e-mail me at "[email protected]" either way how to make it work my phone properly.

  • Spelling is not required for listening. Only for writing and reading.

  • I've had this phone for 2+ years and love it. I have had absolutley no problems with this phone. Awesome phone.

  • I have had this phone for 2 years and it is an awesome phone. Mine is rooted now running Ice Cream Sandwich haha and its lovely. Never had problems with it GPS is great its fast can't ask for more..I'm up for upgrade but not convinced on the new Galaxy or iPhone just gonna wait for something even better for the holidays. Of course its not a good phone for new activation given the new phones that are out that have quad core processors and stuff but for me it has worked amazing. Even played 80 hours of Final Fantasy 7 on it with great graphics and no lag. The best phone I ever had and I'll pay tribute to it and honor it once I find a worthy upgrade lol

  • This phone has already stood as one of the best android phones of its time. Mine is still going strong after 2 years of heavy use. I switched out the battery at about 1.5 years with a high capacity. Now its got a bump in the back of it but just extended this phones life another year, and doubled its battery life, which was its strongest negative when it came out. I haven't used Micro-hdmi port, I use the kickstand and bluetooth regularly, and I've tethered legally/illegally the entire time. Used the thing for internet for a month in new apartment when cable appointments cancelled (f**k comcast). I've had this thing out of the case about 80% of the time I've owned it. Alot of minor drops, and a handful of big ones. The removable battery popping out of the back seems to help negate the impact every time. Just pop the battery back in and put the back on. Extra battery is 10 dollars, microusb cable is damn near free, and a bigger sd card is 15 dollars. One negative that will likely cause me to buy a new phone soon: Internal memory. This thing does not have alot, and more and more games and media are taking up too much space. I've needed to go in to remove apps regularly to get the ones I want on the play store. Another issue I have is the loudness of the phone, it just doesn't seem to be very loud. This hasn't been a problem for friends and family that have used it though, so maybe I've just ruined my ears somehow.

  • My sister has had this phone replaced about 6 times, she lost count after the 5th or 4th time. She thinks the phone is cap. Her contract expired and she's going back to an Iphone, stating that she also does not like the OS. I tried telling her that the new android os is better but after she tried this HTC EVO, she's just not in the market. This phone posed many problems for her and she's not technically challenged, the phone was just not a good model.

  • I'm currently on my 5th or 6th (7th possibly? i've lost count) Evo since 2010, and im probably gonna go talk to someone today about replacing this thing once again, or just swapping me out with something else. Long story short...the phone is ok, and if someone is thinking about getting it, i'd strongly suggest they shell out the extra few dollars a month for the insurance because they WILL need it.

  • I've had this phone since it first came out and it's been one of the best phones I've had no problems with it other then running out of battery power near the end of the day but I guess that's expected when having such a big bright display. I think it's time for an upgrade though. Looking into the Samsung Galaxy III or the new HTC evo 4g lite

  • It was nice for 2 years ago, but I've had a lot of problems with mine. Time for an upgrade. Sprint has been good about getting me replacements when they were unable to repair mine (on my 3rd or 4th one in 2 years). I'm sure there are several features of this phone that I never used, too.

  • NO

  • In general, any device that have less than or equal to 512 MB RAM, you should upgrade to 2.3.X instead of 4.X. HTC itself will not roll out update for such devices.

  • Dear htc, Pls what version can upgrade to my htc evo 4g handset. Pls answer me exp. 2.3 or 4.0. Thanks & Rgds phyokyawthu

  • Delete the email stored on the phone. For instance, if you have Hotmail sync'd to your phone, the stock email app retains all the retrieved messages on the phone. The Gmail app doesn't do this as it limits the amount of space used in the phone.

  • Root your phone and download app2sd.

  • My Evo 4G is showing low storage. All games and music are on the sd card. I have deleted all but important text messages, unmounted the sd card, transferred music and photos to a flash drive, removed the battery and restarted the phone. It still shows low storage and won't open texts or all for program updates. What do I need to do?

  • My Evo 4G started to show that it was low on storage space. All games, music and photos are on the sd card. I deleted all text messages with the exception of important ones. I have cleared the cache for all programs with that option, transferred music and photos from card to flash drive, took out the battery and sd card, then restarted. It still shows low storage and won't open the few text messages I have. Help

  • This will not work in India. This mobile supports only CDMA carriers and not GSM. Also in India 3G frequency is 2100 MHZ which is not supported by this mibile.

  • My friend brought this hp to Indonesia and work with locl network/smart.. Maybe it'l work in India too.

  • My brother is in america and bought this phone and now he wanna send this mobile to me i.e. In india. And i wanna know that would this phone be working in india? Please reply me.

  • Fantastic smartphone, is powerful as it is as good looking, plastic and materials quality is exceptional, everything runs and open freaking fast with this phone, touchscreen is so fucking accurate, all of the apps I had tested on this phone work pretty good, and games like DeadSpace, Modern Combat 2, 9mm, Nova 1, Nova 2, NFS HotPursuit, NFS Shift, Asphalt 6 work brilliant and with very fluid graphics, no lagging at all with games. And the HTC Sense looks so fucking awesome, I must said that I'm impressed with this phone, everything about it is just great, materials, design, performance, its practical. Probably the only problem with this phone is the battery life, it doesn't last, but I will ask now, who cares? I don't, almost every smartphone has this issue with the battery life and for a phone that has been capable of replacing my laptop, because I don't use my laptop anymore since I got this phone, so I can forgive the battery life issue at all, all smartphones have this issue. If I were asked to vote for this phone I'll give it a 9.5, Excellent Smartphone!

  • does this mobile work in india with reliance network?

  • Does this mobile works in mauritius ????

  • very good phone working in india with other networks but only problem is that it has 512mb ROM* not 1GB

  • Can this EVO 4G be use in the Philippines with other networks? thanks!...

  • You must download an app killer and watch what is running from time to time. I keep off my wi-fi bluetooth and everything else until I need it and I now get good battery life. You can also get an extended battery that allows you days or weeks.

  • This is a veary good phone.

  • i living in england.and i like this phone.how can i buy this phone?

  • Megusta

  • This one do not have internal memory like iPhone, the same for almost the rest of HTC. Is the only default a see.

  • I live in Jamaica,is there a way to program it because eveywhere i go people are giving me the run around

  • I have an EVO 4G. It is unlockable, no worries. In China, I had my number programmed into it by the shop who sold it to me. There is no spot for a sim card. However, that gives you the option of having a second phone with the same number. Put the EVO in airplane mode, and turn on your other phone!

  • no, this one does not use a sim card, it's cdma.

  • It's possible to unlock it so i can use any sim?

  • yep,i agree.

  • the htc evo 4g is a sweet phone, i would take it over a new iphone any day, party because of its 4g capability. check out my articles on the HTC EVO 4 @

  • It will. if your country has any CDMA or EVDO Rev. A Carrier.

  • Can the EVO 4G be used in africa and with other networks?

  • How do I know when my battery needs replacement.

  • How much this phone?

  • HTC evo 4g is a great phone!

  • How can u cuzz the battery needing charging... Olive my phone but I live with my charger... Ugghhh

  • How can u cuzz the battery needing charging... Olive my phone but I live with my charger... Ugghhh

  • How can u cuzz the battery needing charging... Olive my phone but I live with my charger... Ugghhh

  • How can u cuzz the battery needing charging... Olive my phone but I live with my charger... Ugghhh

  • its a great phone, but you need to get a free app killer from the android mkt or write one. evo allows anything to run in the background and that kills the battery. the samsung galaxy.s2 that i replaced it with is bigger lighter, and i dont think as good, BUT it doesnt let everything keep running itself in the background, hence the battery lasts way longer. ive rooted both phones right away. as i am a programmer. i use about 5000minutes and 6000 texts a month, nevermind my internet usage. i like em both, i just havent decided which one i like more yet. hopefully that helps a little.

  • I've had this phone since release date. I have never gotten a full day out of it. I have to charge the phone at lunch and over night. Other than the battery life, this is a great phone.

  • Is it a good phone? Does have good touch sensor like iphone

  • which better this phone or epic 4g?

  • You can update to 2.3.3 OTA. But dont do it if you plan to root it. Root for 2.3.3 is not possible yet.

  • izz it upgraded to 2.2 ?

  • i got mine on my birthday its everything you expect in a phone.

  • The evo 4g is only available in usa not any other place. You could buy a desire hd it is pretty much the same as the evo but it is gsm.

  • I just got my phone late week. It wasn't my first choice in phones but one of my friends kept raving about it. so I read the reviews and saw how happy it made ppl. So I went for it and I completely agree with everyone that liked it. the phone does exactly what I wanted it to do plus more. I've always been a blackberry person but it was well worth the trade up. The only thing I don't like is the battery dies and I have to live on my charger, but that could be fixed.

  • Please help me My country use cdma ruim card type. I want use latest htc cdma handse. But some of them haven't ruim slot. So..... tell me which htc handset can use ruim card. Reply me. Thank a lot. Evo 4g can use ruim card?

  • hello plzz tell mai that i want htc evo 4g im in sadia arabia there is no htc branch plzzzz give me ans where i can get evo 4 g

  • I love this phone. Battery is somewhat of a problem but it's expected with all the features and because I can't put it down! All phones have something that excels over the others, no phone is perfect. Sprint has great service and great phones. Pricey but you get what you pay for and sprint delivers. I'm staying with the Evo 4g, no plans of upgrading to Evo 3d.

  • Bhai jaan ,i wd suggest u rather than getting evo 4G instead u can buy vertu constallation. its available in in 24 colours

  • sorry Abbas HTC saying No fr ur question ,,,nd wt i suggest u is to use Nokia 1100 tht'll be good a handset fr u ......

  • Yes,HTC EVO 4G is Capable for the Video Calling,,All the 4G Phones are Capable for Video Calling,,

  • yes it is an itouch alternative, we dont have any CDMA network, I'm using it right now, coz i love it so much.

  • yes it will work in pakistan. as you know wateen,wi-tribe and qubee are already giving wimax services. and it will also run ptcl v-fone sim which is cdma 1900mhz

  • can the wifi of this phone work without cdma support? i mean can this phone work like an itouch??? thanks :)

  • i want to know that Evo 4g works in Pakistan???? as they've mentioned that its not a GSM Device and will not work in Gsm Network worldwide, please help me

  • I would like that here will take pictures with the htc evo 4g's camera, because I would like to do comparation with other cell phone.

  • there is no 4G in the philippines. even this wi-tribe thing doesn't offer full 4G bandwidth. it's just their marketing strategy to deceive potential clients. and so if this phone is used in the philippines, its network connection can't be use to its full potential

  • 4G wimax network available here in metro manila wide. wi-tribe.ph

  • lol sorry but no 4g network in philippines ispishally in davao. you can try htc desire, desire z or desire hd.. those wer the only htc officialy launched in pilipins

  • In HTC Evo 4G moble vidoe call facility is available or not pls. confirm

  • Change the ROM!

  • The bat life sucks on this phone all my friends and I have this phone and we all have the same complant.

  • I do live in Czech repulic can anyone tell me if the phone gonna work if i buy it from usa ?

  • this phone is piece of crap!!! I had this phone on sprint for a while. It stopped charging, it lags big time, it has alot of difficulty doing anything right.... all it is is a bunch of features stuffed into an ugly package and none of them work right except for the browser. Also be carful when u charge this "super phone" the micro usb port stopped working on mine because of the over all design of this horrible phone it stopped charging all together. also HTC is so cheap they dont even give you headphones in the box when u buy this phone. All in all i hated this phone especially its overall design. Get an iphone people thats all this phone is trying to be only with more problematic features.

  • which network is working on in Nigeria, multi-links or starcomms ....cuz i have one too evo 4g and not working do kindly get in touch asp thank you

  • wats d price f evo 4g in india....

  • thats cause sprints 3G network is only rated at 3.2M... WiMax has not released any #'s on what their "supposed" 4G is... They guesstimate between 4-6M.

  • There must be a problem cause in 3G it says that the phone can pull 3,2 mbit/s ore something.. It doesn't say what it can pull on the 4G.. Thats kinda importent when its called HTC EVO 4G, it must have a limit on the 4G.

  • In the case of the htc evo 4g it uses the newer be it outdated (compared to other countries) 4g speed. The iphone 4 is just the 4th model.

  • hello my friend of Argentinean the speed of 4G is the one of your commits or of data that give you to the company to your cellular in htc evo he allows you to make video called to other telephones htc evo but the cover is limited in the United States but htc is a very good unit evo I do not complain

  • EVO users, try to play Dungeon Defenders lol.

  • hi nath. im also from philippines, first NO you cant use this in our poor country cuz it does not have sim card slot. second its called 4G cuz the internet connection in this fone is really quick.[10x faster than 3G (6-10MBPS)] if you really like this fone, in febrauary, htc will release htc desire hd in our country, that is an htc evo-like fone. (but thet is not 4G)

  • Hi. I would like to help you with some information. First - This is NOT a GSM device (phones that use SIM cards like AT&T, Roger's, Orange Mobility - think iPhone as a GSM phone). This phone needs to be activated by your phone carrier with a clean ESN number that is not bad. When the phone gets banned from the network with that flagged ESN (electronic Service number), that means it is bad you can't use it other than just being a tablet device w/o phone capabilities. Now, assuming that this device's 4G network is only for the Sprint USA bands, you may not be able to receive the full benefit of the 4G network in the Philippines. 4G network is a higher speed of internet bandwith your phone is capable of running, meanwhile it is backwards compatible to using lower speed, as it is only finding the best available data network (where you get a cell signal). So, that is why it is a 4G device - in the USA Sprint has bands with faster internet. Consult your wireless carrier. If you spend a lot of money, and find out that you can not use it because of incompatible network then you wasted your money. If you are on a CDMA network then please check compatibility.

  • hello i want to helb me.. i want to buy new phone and i don't now which HTC is the best? HTC HD7 or HTC EVO 4G ..???? pls tell me thanks a lot..

  • philiphino monkey

  • California... you should learn to speak and write in English before you try and post a review in a language that you obviously do not understand or comprehend... What employer would hire you, that would require you to need of a smart phone for working. when it is obvious that you have not mastered basic communication skills so why would you need a communication device? Having a smart phone does not make you smart

  • WHAT? Could you put that in a comprehendable sentence structure so that we could possible understand what you were trying to say?

  • i don't understand the difference if the phone is 4G. someone help.. why is it called a 4G? i'm from philippines, can i use the phone here?

  • i think this fone is the best HTC ever produced. too bad it wasnt available in Europe. Even the deisre hd isnt close. The specs for this phone are amazing and it will still be by the end of 2011. well done HTC. Next time just try to introduce something similar around the world

  • HTC have to add some following function 1. launch in GSM 2. Live TV Function 3. GPRS , EDGE 4. Battery life 5. full qwerty Keypad [Slide]

  • HTC should same launched in GSM an also add Live TV function otherwise its nice

  • Tutorial to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread on HTC EVO 4G

  • evo 4G htc of Sprint is the best election so that the telephone is not only a unit if that a tool for my work and by his low cost of the telephone service and data is better the HTC evo and by their speed is not the best one but for cradled Sprint it gives better its cover of 4G since the zones in California are poscas the cover so that the telephone is fast in 4G in 3G this nothing badly but not to leave to after the better serious competition a cover of 4.5G to but please for cradled Sprint

  • why is there no review on this and also the htc 7 surround?

  • does this phone work in Balkan someone tell me that if i bay a code (15$ in sprint market will it work in my region)will work pleas answer soon

  • how do i disable htc sense ui on evo 4g

  • mane my cuzin has one of these phones and every time he comes around i just have to use it there no other phone out there like this one everyone should have one of these phones

  • I just want to say that I have worked with wireless for the last twenty years and had just about every cell phone out there and I loved blackberry but the HTC evo is one of the best cell phones in the world for now I've also lived abroad and no phone comes close I'm sure people will say that its not a world phone but that does joy matter this phone puts the Iphone right wear it needs to be behind the HTC evo the future of smart phones thanks android and sprint and can we get something straight please I have worked for a major cell company two them and sprint works all over I have traveled with them service is fine thank you.

  • Guys u all suck the HTC Evo is 1 of the best Phones ever made Good job HTC keep up the good work. for people who keep talking pls keep talking.and for people who believe in what they use or cee its the best phone ever man

  • HTC Evo 4G android 2.3 update : )

  • 65k colors mean the effective color but it has 16m , and this thing for all the mobile

  • pls which network are you using yours with in nigeria

  • Ok this phone seems to be the best out here when you look at the info of it. But what is the thing with high resolution big size n only 65K colours in the display? Even nokia 240 times 320 has 16 million colours.

  • *coming soon to improve the battery life. =]

  • I have had this phone since June...and I don't really like the battery life, If you leave 3G(or internet) on the next time you look at your phone the battery is dead. =\...maybe there will be a nice update coming

  • is it working with GSM ? how to unlock it to working with GSM ?

  • Hello, can anyone tell me if this type can be used in Cuba? or if possible suggest which types?

  • Help please...does it support OMH R-UIM?

  • Yes it's going to work in your country if there is CDMA network but you cant use sprint line you will have to programm a new line with your home country CDMA. Like I am using mine in Nigeria, and it's working perfectly with 2.2

  • Hi, Does anyone know if this unit will work in Europe if a vanilla Froyo (Android 2.2) is installed onto it? It's by far the best phone HTC has built and for some reason they won't build us an equivalant! Features such as the kick stand, the front facing camera and the 1500 mAh battery just edge it ahead of our Desire HD the closest cusin.

  • Ouh My.. One thing that is weird about Evo 4g is.. there is no earpiece for it..

  • This phone is the best HTC phone I have ever used. It is working great here in Nigeria and the internet is awsome, even though we dont have 4g service in Nigeria. Battery life is good.

  • Its indeed capacitive my friend, do a research first before you post. Its screen is slcd, not amoled, but it is a capacitive, not resistive. I dont know why you are comparing a resistive to a slcd, its doesnt make sense, capacitive and resistive is a touch screen input type, where resistive is not that responsive but enables you to use stylus, and capacitive type is very responsive, a slight touch will do but you cant use stylus, only your fingers. And about the slcd and amoled, and so on, its a different thing, it is the display itself. So desire hd has slcd screen and it has a capacitive touch input.

  • @krause: And if the Desire HD had a capacitive screen would have been in my pocket already...I just don't understand why htc chose S-LCD for such a great phone...it's shame...!

  • theres already a gsm version of this phone in case you dont know, its the HTC DESIRE HD. battery life sucks? no problem, you can buy a 3500mah battery for this phone, google is your friend

  • Why the crappers did they not come out with a gsm option? I was waiting so long for this phone...and now I am back at square one looking for another phone. Grand!

  • where can i get one of these in the uk does anybody know???

  • why they mad such an awesome phone without the support of GSM it's stupidity

  • Amen to that! The battery life sucks and so does android.

  • one of the sexiest phones ever on earth

  • is it an iphon4? i dont care

  • @alakay yes but only with telstra,or get yourself a wimax router(depends how strong the signal is it can reach upto 15km)..free calls through skype (but no sms')

  • would the HTC Evo 4G work in Australia because i want one and considering buying one on-line

  • Hello, The phone is CDMA... it is not GSM phone... it will not work on gsm network, that's for sure... if htc produce gsm version, then, you can use it, Kind regards, kire

  • it is only for cdma not for gsm users, is there any phone with front camera and big screen

  • Can we use HTC evo secondary camera for a yahoo/skype/msn chatting also? i mean for video chat? & is it possible to download applications/games online in it? Please answer & help me. Thanxx

  • does this phone work in south africa and if not when?

  • I rlly want a HTC Evo,but everyone says that it wont work on GSM,i dun think thats totally true, there must be a way!!

  • yes dude, it has a secondary camera of 1.3 mpx for video calling

  • can u do video calling on this phone?

  • Wonder how speedy is 4G?

  • nice i like it...

  • will it work in india???????????

  • This is the answer:

  • it much more visits www.movile9.com of your PC or your htc for tones and

  • all the intelligent telephones last the battery but of 2 day at least that only is a cellular telephone to recoil and not pdma

  • if the CDMA support sata 8 equipment I eprobadoa sata 4 conetados telephones and 2 PC it is best the velocida is as they moden and resibo llamadasa if problems and the battery lasts to you a day of hangs the traffic of calls or use of intrenet and the aplicasino that conetadas thecas but bleats the pain by its velosida in 8 4G and HD mp expensive and one 1,3 advantage of mp to one me moria of conesino espadible of 8G to 32G for the TV is as if these in the PC dron records video to sitema is the best HTC evo 4G and leaves but cheap the contract by $69,99 gives to all Internet mesaje you of called the called Tex inlimitadas and video with 4G better

  • if the CDMA but bleat the pain by their velosida in 8 4G and HD mp expensive and one 1,3 advantage of mp to one me moria of conesino espadible of 8G to 32G for the TV it is as if these in the PC dron records video to sitema is the best HTC evo 4G and leaves but cheap the contract by $69,99 gives to all Internet mesaje you of called the called Tex more good inlimitadas and video with 4G

  • there is a 3500mAh battery available from Seido just google it. Its awesome and keeps 2.5+ days ! I love my Evo!

  • Does this phone come with Microsoft pocket office where I could create or edit word/excel docs?

  • no there is no hope! unless your country will have a CDMA network..

  • Reguarding the This is not a GSM phone, it will not work on any GSM network worldwide. General 2G Network CDMA 800 / 1900 3G Network CDMA2000 1xEV-DO i see CDMA 800/1900 which the Gsm networks use well the 800/1900 part so my question: is there really no hope for customers who only have a GSM network in there country???

  • hi! to your question..the answer is no//it is only made for SPRINT CDMA..

  • hi to all! I understand that you have experience how fast the battery life of the evo drains out. The reason for this is the phone is run under 4G network. The phone needs to be connected all the time to the towers that eat up the battery of the phone. If you check the phone can be run under both 3G and 4G network if you are in the area where both network is available there is a bigger chance that battery will be drained faster than you thought because at this point the phone needs to be connected on both towers 3G and 4G.. Always remember that the faster the network the shorter the battery life..in this case i recommend that you buy a spare battery..the fine works perfectly and it is really beneficial for you specially if you really need to have a fast connection..i almost forgot that 3G and 4G is not only applied to your internet speed..it is also applied to your sms receive/send and call receive/snd

  • hi! yes, that is true..the phone is not made for GSM that the reason why the phone doesnt have sim card slot. it is designed for CDMA..the phone is a router that may be able to support up to 8 wifi enable device that makes this phone better than an iPhone

  • Too bad is just for USA. I hope it will be released "for all" soon.

  • If u compare it with omnia 2 this mobile has android OS, which some dont prefere, has 200mhz advantage which is irelevant has 4G technology which we dont have ( at least me) and worse battery than omnia..For 3times bigger price. Do i have to say anything else. Go go HTC...

  • The EVO doesnt have a SIM slot, therefor it cannot be used outside the U.S. Some CDMA Blackberry's have SIM cards to use GSM carriers in another country. The EVO is limited to only CDMA carriers.

  • Battery is worthless!!!!

  • battery sucks!!!!

  • What is the max download and upload speed that it can perform?

  • call sprint international team if it can be used internationally

  • Hi all, I like this phone and i have a question about Is this phone can be use in any network?, I am from maldives. i would like to Know about it.

  • hahaha LMFAO.... who are you to say that... nobody- Symbian is a really good OS. u can use it for all... the onle one sin is about the input method... Not Multitouch... but however. Nokia Rules!

  • I am really very tired of this htc evo 4g it freezes every time whenever i cross 4 gb memory i 3gs is better than this htc evo4g this phone even freezes if u r running android i will sell it and buy a new iphone 4 i have heard that the new iphone 4 released in september doesnt have any antenna issues

  • Yes the HTC Desire HD !!!! :D :D

  • so whens this beast going to be available in england? its a ridiculously hard choice between this and the dell streak

  • hyc evo is best 4G

  • this phone will not work with a gsm mode on some countries..

  • no u cant use this with gsm even i feel sad for this. pretty good mobile

  • this phone cannot be used worlwide, it is not a gsm phone. the htc hd2 can now dual boot as an android device fully functional which is basicallly the same thing once android is up and running on the device. also if you have any use for it it doubles as a windows device as well.

  • I'm from Trinidad and Tobago can i use the HTC EVO in my Country..

  • the bettry life of htc hd2 is not so good but not bad at all 4.3 displays obviously use pretty mush charge cumsuption than other smart phones.and also there r crtain factors which really effects your phones battery life try to manage your applications by Task manager no more than three application shd work at same time and set your outer display britness to lower level for better result and also while ur phone is on wifi it consumes more less 50% more battery.

  • I am from sweden, Can we use this 'HTC Evo 4G' with gsm sim card? Can i use this mobile in sweden?

  • Only 65k.very poore.come on guys I know u can do better than that.

  • what aboout its battery life and da actual price

  • These are problems of this phone : It is thick It is Heavy Its diplay is very old (TFT 65K)

  • i am the f*****g htc god

  • How about a good choice of colours, like pink?

  • Remember lens only makes the effect better not the pixels, pixels are something much different from effects, and also dont not compare the quality of picture on the mobile scree, just check it on the screen of Your Computer then You will feel the difference and i do accept the quality of iP4 is best but this is poor and still cannot resolve its signals problem and asking for help still from Nokia,Samsung,HTC etc...

  • its big and heavy sorry -1

  • OMG 1.3mp front cam ??!!! 8mp prim cam ?!! 4.3" ohhh my god hope i can get it

  • HTC EVO 4G vs. Motorola Droid X Review

  • no we cant.. gsm phones only..

  • trust me my names mansur and i love this phone....best phone in n4

  • man those who are talking about I phone 4G,i will say its bullshit, the worst phone ever,a real signal looser, asking for help still, and those who compare the 5MP of I Phone with Evo then do understand that what does the Mega-Pixel means, you talking silly, just first read about pixels that what they are? and i personally use I phone, believe me i throw it to my younger brother,HTC is amazing and the best phone.

  • This is GSM ARENA, why do they have a CDMA phone on there site!@!? Like seriously man you guys will put anything up. It's not a GSM phone so it have no right being on the site.

  • lol you are right

  • What is the audio codec for 720p on this foPr

  • its true about phones on camera higher megapixel is not always the best e.g compare a samsung full HD TV to a Hitachi Full HD TV and you will see the difference The Carl Zeis lenses that Nokia use are probably the best quality vids and pics on camera phones so when someone says that the iphone 5mp is better then HTC 8mp, it can potentially be true. Iphone is not as powerful as HTC evo in many ways but apple really knoe how to use their hardware very well, in some cases there may be flaws and the same may go for HTC. HTC have always had a different target market but with the android software they want to bite into apples target market. Software and apps wise apple is Miles ahead, when apple say theres an app for almost anything, surprisingly enough, they're actually telling the truth however when it comes to browsing the net HTC evo does have a slight advantage over apple, being flash enabled and slightly faster... but only slightly. For those of you who are considering getting either phone, dont go on anyones oppinion because they both have ups and downs, go into a store and get a feel of both, ask for a demo, and see which 2 feels better for you

  • Best Phone Period especially with Froyo, if you rơot this phone, this give you mobile HotSpot for free. No attenna issues and the plans is 79.99 with unlimited talk text and data...Screw Iphone, I sold mine on Ebay.

  • uWBC...your website review is nothing more that a crap...i also read that when iphone is on losing end the reviewer easily escape "ah were talking of phone here not multimedia device" were in the world you compare an 8 mega to 5 mega even here at GSMArena do not do such stupidity...

  • it is a cdma, no sim card.

  • Please just stop spamming about comparing the EVO to the iPhone 4. If you say the IP4 is better, then please close your computer and get an IP4 at your local Apple Store.

  • Only if u have unlocked thiz phone then only it will work on other countries.u can buy an unlocked htc evo 4g from www.ebay.com

  • will it work in india if bought from us

  • Brother a blind man can decide it obviously iphone4 is better i forgot the address of the website there i saw iphone's 5Mp is better than Evo's 8Mp, htc is not good regarding their hardware check out i phone4's material and all of us know hardware is most important part of a cell phone so go for iphone4 or for some nokia's device but symbian is not good platform for touchscreen mobiles. Therefore i phone4 is perfect

  • actually da best cell phone !!! htc phones are the best pones of touch screen innovatation thanks htc !!

  • You need to add like $10/mo if you really want to use this phone. plus, if you want to use its mobile hotspot, you need to add an extra $29.99, on top of the $69.99 plan or even the $99.99 plan. and I checked Sprint stores, its currently OUT OF STOCK!!

  • hi, can tell me somebody, can I use this phone in UK??? because I see it have and 3G, not just 4G...

  • Whats better HTC HD2 or HTC Evo 4G ??? and there is any problems in these phones ??

  • the HTC is better evo by their chamber 8MP in HDI a CD memory 8G to but internal memory is of 1G ram its screen is better than the apple best aplicasiones works very I came with Google or bing, yahoo to with att resibo is of $87,00 to but with Sprint resibo is of $69,99 and teda everything :)

  • man lets compare htc evo 8mp iphone 4 5mp evo wins front camera htc evo 1.3 iphone 4 vega evo wins memory both are egual screen size evo wins resolution iphone wins iphone 3g evo 4g evo wins rom iphone 512 evo 1g evo wins so htc evo won in 4 point iphone won in 1 point only i just want to say that evo is da best phone in markets now man htc are da best touch technology and the best pedia in mobile phone production apple , samsung and etc. cant stand against them

  • i am between htc evo and iphone 4. which is the best

  • I find it kind of ridiculous for a website NOT to provide the specs of a new and ultra-popular phone just because it is CDMA. GSMArena is the best cell phone specs site around and the most primary reasons it falls so low in Google searches is because it is missing the specs of a lot of the top phones on the market.

  • Will this phone works in the Philippines? And can I open and play facebook apps in this phone?

  • no it wont work in Pakistan....its CDMA

  • awesome phone ever however there is weakness which is not gsm phone. Is there anyone can tell me is it work in Malaysia?

  • will it work in Pakistan ? it says its not a GSM phone. currently I'm using HD2 and I'm loving it, I think EVO actually has wht is lacking in hd2, like HDMI port and anroid.

  • why are we getting CDMA phones listed on here now?!?! LAME

  • Wait for its release in Pakistan.

  • i bet thet this phone will be the best phone ewer...better then iphone...because for my opinion the android is the best os...he hawe the games simular the iphone but for free with no bugs..htc have the huge displey and i think that for the gaming, watching movies, surfing on ineternet and bisnis is the BEST!!!

  • Immagine what HD2 would be if it was running on Android instead of the plagued current system.

  • galaxy or evo?

  • can i used htc evo 4g in pakistan please anyone tell me

  • the best phone ever period . i want one with a 5 inch screen and full hd and that ll be as good as a phone coud get !!!

  • Why no GSM version for this phone? HTC please release this for worldwide market, especially South East Asia...I want to buy this phone...

  • Now why did GSMA go and put cdma phones into the database? To confuse the clueless and have every other question appear under the comments about it working in a GSM environment?

  • if you are living in Canada then what is your gripe about CDMA being enjoyed by a lot of people in the US?here,we pay for the services that works for us and it so happened that we do not see anything wrong with Sprint's CDMA.why, does your gsm service provider never failed any single call with your phone?if not then good for you but you can't campaign yourself against hundreds of thousands of people using Sprint's CDMA that are also enjoying the service like you do unless youll be putting up your own gsm based communication company in Canada.

  • guys normally have big hands and this phone fits my hand rather than the iphone4 size which usually would fit a girl's hand.besides i have a bluetooth headset so I just leave the phone in my backpack.the big 4.3 amoled screen is such a joy to experience with HTC sense UI.

  • ya

  • Why is there no review for this baby. Trying to find out if it rocks more than the Samsung Galaxy S (i9000).

  • yikes toooooo big for me. its like when I will call im like holding a table tennis racket ewww...

  • gsm vergin is must, the giant processor and high resolution camera make it the perfect phone. please rapidly lunch the gsm vergin

  • hello dude... you are using this HTC Evo 4G right? is this nice to be used and will the battery of this phone last long? i mean can it stands until one day or more? thanks thanks

  • hello there... just wanna know is this phone nice to be used? and will the battery last long? i mean is it can stand for one day?=)

  • Anyone knows when this phone is coming to Singapore? I'm dying to get one :)) Thanks :)

  • Who is still using CDMA? Its absolutely dead! Providers all over the world are dumping it, Canada's two CDMA providers have gone 3 GSM, Korea, Japan, Latin America, Australia, everyone is opting for 3GSM/UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+. Sprint is the ONLY company to go 3GPP2 (Qualcomm CDMA's group) and take up WiMax as their 4G route. I mean that is dumb, considering even Qualcomm abandoned it and Sprint is the only major provider in the world to go WiMax (which has been around for at least 7 years here in Canada as a mobile internet... which sucked).

  • nothing i could say except best phone i've ever seen in my life

  • I like the specs totally. I request HTC to pl launch a GSM model for this Mobile ASAP. Its not a big deal for HTC to make a GSM model of this mobile. It is the most powerful phone on the planet. GSM is a must. And GSM will make this Mobile Brilliant. Pl make it GSM, I will be happy even to pay more for GSM. Just can't get my hands get on it. Hope HTC does that for a client like me.

  • I have a HTC evo and I can't download spy software on it any suggestions need help

  • It means it doesn't use the regular SIM cards that most networks around the world use. It uses CDMA technology via sprint to get its signal. Far superior Internet speeds and coverage, but unfortunately, only for the Sprint network.

  • if without sim card plugged then how to make call? through access to internet?

  • No this isn't a GSM based phone, its a CDMA type. It's by far one of the best devices I've ever gotten to handle. I hate Sprint with a passion so I'll never own on but my brother just got this thing. It is awesome. To have a wi-fi hotspot in your pocket at all times, that is fully functional, stable, and pretty quick, it just unreal. The screen is pretty big and, it's by no means a small device. I really think the only thing that is in this things leauge is that new Droid X, but that's a CDMA phone too, though Verizon Wireless, so I probably won't ever have one of those either. This things only draw back is the carrier, Sprint is the worst provider in the world, I used to have them years ago. If you can get past that, this phone is definatly an amazing peice of tech.

  • what is the meaning of that it is not a GSM phone ?

  • I thought its a GSM phone. LOL.

  • You dont need EDGE, this has 1XRTT, and is CDMA so no need for SIM cards either.

  • CDMA is not an outdated technology. CDMA is cheaper to deploy and offers 3G for cheaper, and is standard in almost all phones (up to 3.1Mbps). Plus you can only use CDMA phones on their network, sold by the operator. This way all features work properly and you cant use your incompatable phone.

  • There is No GPRS, No EDGE And No Adobe Flash Player shame..I can not belive That Shame, Shame, Shame HTC :(((

  • finally GSMarena.com added this phone on the review... i have a question for you,is there any planning or rumor from this vendor to launch this series of phone on GSM band/network?? thanks

  • HTC EVO 4G in cdma this of the best HTC its chamber of 8MP and the one of frete 1.3MP its screen in HDi a memory of 1G ROM and grooves for sata 16G, 32G he is the best one and its S-value of $199,00 with a plan of Sprint of $69,99 yet if yet not but this better master HTC EVO 3G, 4G:) he is the best one

  • finally GSMArena.com is adding these phones !!

  • if HTC EVO 4G in my opinino between CDM and GSM I prefer the GSM 3G, 4G so that it is but fasil that pasi works in hotros and CDM not everywhere is 4G but a thing if it is that evo is better dico by esperineci own if htc weak versino GSM in evo I pass 4G me to the GSM
