  • I am using the htc touch dual phone, the phone is fine, but I am having problem running my facebook application and other java applications with it. Please do something about it.

  • BIG, BIG NEWS In a nutshell i have found a custom rom, that makes using your Htc touch dual aka touch plus p5550, an absolute beaut. installed on 16 key, niki 200 ' originally t mobile uk' I have tested this rom myself for a week, and the most impressive thing is the battery life, it remains very, very, very stable. i tested it against my sonyericsson elm, to gauge the battery life the test i done was: Play a video using both devices media player. The sonyericsson elm used 1hr at 10% the touch dual used 45 mins at 10% Making phones calls - no crackles, crystal clear video quality is good, but you may have to format some of your movies to 320 by 240 Playing audio is nice [via windows mobile media player, or audio manager] Reception is good Navigating thru the menu's. please note you will have to install adobe le, calculator and audio manager, seperate cabs files, when you find the rom, in the same forum, you should find the cabs prior to installing this rom i had this is awrold wide english rom ROM version: 2.16.831.3 Radio version: 1.65.29.22 this rom was shockingly poor, battery would run down within 12w hours, with minimum usage. the orignal rom TMO_UK_2.06.110.2_Radio_NikeMR_1.65.28.25 _signed_Ship.exe - this rom was just as bad for battery also tried Nike WWE 2.16.831.3 Radio NikeMR 1.65.29.22 - just as bad - battery would run out,,,,just on standby The rom that i am now using is a windows 6.5 rom, please note that a few steps must be undertaken before flashing your phone with this rom. if unsure. ask The rom TITANIUM ULTIMATE in SPANISH,ENGLISH & GERMAN - WP.6.5 created by josemaesra, to find the rom, just do a google search with this title 'TITANIUM ULTIMATE in SPANISH,ENGLISH & GERMAN - WP.6.5' One word of precaution, before you install - you must install the microsoft netframework cab, that will be found on the same page of the rom 1st, also after installing the rom you will see the battery info illustrated, once you click the icon, twice, the reading on the left is the one to go by, and don't forget to close applications using task manager in the menu, change your reginal settings to your location. Lastily i amm not affilated with the creator of the rom. for any assistance, or queries about their rom, you will have to do it thru the forum, anything general and basic, i can be of help. enjoy.......

  • Dear HTC, I cannot believe that actually agreed with a saleslady that an HTC may be better than a Nokia for a change. What a disaster ! Got a Touch Dual in Oct2007, hardley opened the package, used it briefly at end of 2010, with a bit of success. When the keypad not working eventually got the better of me, I took it in, it was apparently "reset" and worked briefly and then didnt work again. Took it in again and NOW, not even the touch screen works. Of course, they wanted me to pay more that the phone was worth to me to have it "fixed" . The touch screen didnt even even work after getting it back from the technicalwhome assessed it for 'repairs'. Cannot help but wonder if they removed or broke something as it was returned in worse working condition than it was sent in. What a joke. Thanks HTC, I have renewed respect for Nokia and Blackberry, which I have kept using throughout. While all units have issues/problems, at least they are always easy and quick to sort out. The only place suitable for this HTC now which you can onyl make calls off if you are very patient with the keys.....is the dustbin as my children will not even use it ! • Touch dual i have it for about 1 year, works like a dream...windows mobile has some minor errors but it works fine, sometimes touch screen bloks for a few mom but it comes back quickly...anyway this is a good phone.

  • 1st go start,setting,system,screen,align the screen back...thn done oledi

  • I have had this phone now for nearly 18 months, and it is quite simply the most unreliable and annoying phone I have ever owned. I shits itself every time there is a second call- and the windows mobile "hangs" frequently. I have lost hundreds of business calls as a result of it failing when a second call comes in, and the lag in applications is drag! Often either the caller cannot hear me- or I cant hear them. The concept is great- if only it worked. Been in once for repair, and was charged for it- even though it was under warranty. Now using a basic Nokia 2330 as a backup- but it works perfectly- and no lost calls. Very dubious about HTC touch phones now.

  • i have/had/have an HTC Touch dual. it has given me many problems o far. in march i wouldve had the phone for 2yrs but it feels like forever..it doesnt even work any more and it has been in for repairs 3 times already.the phone gives me way too many software problems also.the touch screen was messed up after 6 months. i wouldnt advise anyone to go for this phone@

  • I have this phone. at first i was amazed because of its mp3 player, but i am disappointed with: 1. call - sometimes i can't hear the person on the other line and sometimes the person on the other line can't hear me 2. touch screen - sometimes the touch screen is not working, really irritating. 2. the slide keyboard. upon sliding, it caused my phone to hang, and now it is no longer working. it didn't even reached its "1st birthday". overall: i hate this phone, sorry but it's one of the worst. don't waste your money on this crappy phone

  • hello sir did not know how to start the gprs

  • i have htc dual phone.but i dont no where we put the simcard.can u help me.tnx

  • Hi.. I have a Htc touch Dual. I have 1 problem, I can't make video call. Everytime i press video call, it hangs.. pls advice.. TQ

  • its already old phone but i still want it! :) its shame they didnt make new version of it. how much can battery last?

  • Is it true this phone can accommodate dual sim?

  • It's a nice phone the best thing is the "keypad" i've been using it for 1 year: not boring but you must get SPB Mobile shell 3.0

  • this phone is nice. never been dissapointed since the 1st day i use it. if wifi installed, it would be perfect!

  • Nice phone, but i think they should come out with an up dated version, with something like android and hvga screen that would be even greater

  • is this phone have same problem w/ o2 stealth, that the keyboard is only for numeric only?

  • I had my phone for about a year now, works as good as the day i got it. A must for this phone is SPB Mobile Shell($30), makes an Iphone look like crap. For a browser try skyfire(free).

  • This is the same question I have. I had a quick look at one and it didn't appear too!

  • i have a touch screen problem of my htc touch dual after i reset to factory default,i'm stack in aligning the screen.any help please advice.thanks!!!!!!

  • Does It Support A Simcard?

  • Don't know how to use Wifi

  • its a good phone .............

  • There are a lot of browsers. Use any of the operas but opera5 seems better.

  • im so disapointed w/ my htc touch dual..it doesnt have wlan.my school is wifi zone,i cant use this pocket pc to surf to the internet through wifi since it has no wlan.is there a possible way to put wlan on it?any application, software or hardware(enhancement) to have it. Kindly respond on my email ad @ [email protected] thank u:-) > i really like this pocket pc but somehow it doesnt satisfy me. i bought this to replace on my heavy laptop & too big psp which i often use in school in surfing.

  • It has no wifi at all

  • I'm using opera mobi, try it you might love it. operamini.com

  • all work,s go in settings and look,I had my touch duel for 2 year now and no problems at all, if you have a problem it your bad luck try resetting the phone back to factory

  • is there wi fi facility available in this phone? if yes, how to connect to the internet

  • i have also this type of htc phone. sad to say i can not use it anymore... touch screen is not working...

  • pls, my internet explorer is corrupt. which mobile browser works with htc touch dual..pls reply here or send to my email [email protected]

  • The phone is very bad I have and I prefer that you save your money for something better or a better phone. HTC have good phones, but their only weakness is the Dual Touch. The screen is very weak it could be scratched quickly,

  • When a phone like this (Slider + Touch) will be released with WinMo 6.5, good camera (maybe flash??), and bigger screen (3.0-3.5) it will be my choice of smartphone and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) that would like to try otuch screens but sill would like to call/text the good old fashioned way.

  • ooooooooooooooh i luv my phone can't stop chatting with friends via email after work i just cant keep my hands off it.

  • Great phone, have it for almost 2 years now. Features are great but phone seems to have some problems when it comes to installed external problems. I already had to sent back my phone 3 times over the past 4 months. First the touch didn't work so it was a htc dual without touch, after that WM gave up on me twice. Still big fan of HTC but next time better luck i hope

  • this phone is connect my pc , very good working

  • Ive only had this phone for a few days, and im still figuring out some features...Very well designed, and the qwerty set up is brilliant as the buttons are big. Responsive screen and intellegent software make this phone a must have.

  • Pls ve u ever browsed d internet on ur pc thru ur touch dual? pls reply thru my email [email protected]

  • can I use this phone in france?

  • Hi everyone... please i wanna buy this phone.. can u advice me?? tell me what is the advantages & disadvantages... thanks in advance ..

  • I can get this phone for 120(100$) without a contract new with 2 years warranty. Is it worth buying? Cheers

  • The phone is great even after 1,5 years since was released. If used with a good rom u can have a phone better then the new ones.

  • Here is my opinion on the phone after having it for about 4 days of use. The battery life is horrible, it hardly lasts 4 hours of playing music, sending text messages, and surfing internet explorer a wee bit. Might make it up to 6hrs, but when you want to use the phone as your main equipment, it sucks to sacrifice music and texting to have it last till you get home from work. Secondly, what I do not like about this phone is the fact that it needs the stylus to be up and ready most of the time, due to me having fingers that are too big for scrolling the small bars. Good phone, but need small fingers. Also to add, the wm6 UI uses way too much power resources and RAM. Hence, might be the reason why it's so hard on power consumption.

  • my touch dual is exactly 1 year this month, and i am satisfy with what it performed when it come to his price class. I have no prob with the window mobile 6, just little problem with my ce star, sometime it will hang when i switch to english to chinese and vise versa. And sometime when do some multi tasking at the same time the phone hang, but it is generally acceptable for me. The phone camera resolution is not quite good as my previous phone nokia e 61i, anyway i seldom use its camera features. i use this phone as a internet modam almost 18hrs a day and it pass my endurance test. Re the battery when i use as a phone i need to charge everyday, because battery drain fast. and i also has problem to adjust the time, my phone can only display in 24 hrs format not am and pm. and i cant see my incoming call phone because there are no display no.Re the music player the sound is not loud enough when using speaker phone. On other hand this phone didn't come with wifi is a great regret.

  • All I did was plug my phone in to the USB and opened up opened up the sync box and click on explore. Find your music file folder on the phone or sd card file, then open your music folder on the computer and click and drag onto your phones music or sd card folder. It worked perfectly. For some reason my media player will not sync up with my phone.

I try not to message as it is a mission to use the touch screen in XT9 continiously and have to change at least 3 steps before trying to respond. Other that the okay but not brilliant speaker (conference calls) I have nothing but respect for this little gem. I will probably move to the Apple iPhone next (bigger screen and I never use the keyboard). Please HTC, take the same phone, let the buttons and keyboard go and add a bigger screen.

  • how can I change the language from the italian to english?

  • I have the same experience with HTC Dual Touch Screen. It stopped responding and now i cannot send sms, access settings or even press the start bar on the phone. This may be caused by some third party software some might say, and some might even say that the touch screen software is not loaded during start up of the phone. These two reasons seem logical. If you find a solution, do let me know and if I find one, i will let you know.

  • agree with you 100%

  • If anyone want this phone you should know that I have it and is at a very low price. You can contact me at mail above.

  • Long press on the sms you want to forward. Then you will get the forward option.

  • I am experiencing the same problem. Donno how to use it without touch screen

  • My touch dual is problem free,so far so good even before it got upgraded to WM 6.1. I was thinking to convert it to Diamond touch's 3D interface, hoping it won't slow down the operating system.

  • I have the same problem. My speaker volume is too low. I've got everything turned up to loud. I notice if I listen to a voicemail, it starts loud, but then tapers down to a low volume like the phone is programed not to make the sound too loud.

  • I have my power settings to a minimu and therefore my phone turns the screen off after 1 minute. Pressing the power button at the top should bring it all back online. Sometimes you may need to press it twice.

  • I am experiencing problems with the touch screen, its sometimes on and off.Thats really a problem since you cant even send texts/e-mails when the touch screen is off. Everything else is perfect with this phone. Anyone who has experienced this? How did you deal with it? Help much appreciated.

  • hello all: first i want to know which is better than the other htc touch or htc dual touch as i have to choose one of them as soon as possible and i'm really didn't know if anyone have a right answer please feed me back and i'm waiting for ur repl and if i can use external WLAN Card in HTC dual touch or not?

  • Hello, I was wondering if this phone uses a sim card to store the phone contacts

  • I have been using the 3G handset for some months and am considering selling it. The reception is pathetic compared to my earlier handset all through the using the same provider. Many calls drop and the phone is just to slow which is a real pain. I was told it had Wifi by the carrier. Obviously it does not. I think in defence of the retailer he probably thought that since the model under and that above both had WiFi the model in between would also have, It obviously does not. Also, I have found that problems with sincronising with Outlook with the handset duplicating many entries and making a mess of my contacts with up to as many as 3 to 4 entries of each contact. This is an expensive handset to buy. It should not present so many problems. I was attracted to its looks and not its subsatnce

  • htc touch seems better than the touch dual. i actually had the htc touch then traded it for the touch dual which seems to me now as a mistake. the htc toiuch dual has got no wlan.this particular feature endear me to htc.why?

  • Please can anyone tell me how to forward a received sms on the touch dual?. nothing in the manual and the menu does not show a FORWARD facility.

  • hi, I bought a 8 gb high density sd card from e bay.

  • The best HTC i can say, GZ -- but : No Wlan No radio ????

  • i use htc touch dual for few month and its really give me problem.not friendly at all.i tired to sell this fone but no body want to buy.if i do trade in i only can buy nokia 1200.so sad

  • Waiting for HTC Touch Dual with FM-Radio...

  • Nice Look & Great Features I like it & decided to buy it but,, NO WIFI !!! why ?? waiting for Touch dual with WiFi

  • that email didnt work right

  • what software can use for GSM...plz

  • All I'm going to say is that now HTC have released the new Touch 3G and Viva... I'd reckon they'd bring out the Dual II but with better features and the ones they missed out on this one! One thing that I tend to do when making calls, is to turn the screen after you've dialed, so that way you don't get any unwanted apps opening up. If HTC were to make any improvements... I'd say get rid of the cube interface and replace it with a sliding one. It wouldn't be slow to reach one side of the cube and watching the cube spin until it did. I reckon problems with receiving any signal would partially be due to where the aerial is placed. If you read the manual, the aerial is placed at the bottom of the phone where the keyboard is. When taking calls... our hand will be covering the antenna meaning sometimes the signal will be lost. I'm thinking of getting this phone and stinking out with it if there are any problems... I'm just waiting til the diamond is available on the "less than 50" to pay per month tarrifs.

  • make sure you have the handset volume turned up by clicking on the speaker in the top right hand corner, i have this phone and mine is very loud.

  • Dont buy this phone! Its all I have to say! I already bought Samsung Omnia, Thats a PHONE. No jams, no block-ups, excellent camera, excellente autofocus, great GPS, its amazing but everything is great in Omnia , Ive dumped the Touch Dual to a cousin.

  • hey how is the speaker volume? i bought this phone two days back but the speaker volume is too low? and the speed dial doesn't work? can u guys suggest me something? should i get it replaced?

  • Nope.. Its got a 65k screen which is mostly used on pda, etc. No need for 256k

  • This phone is a stunner to look at and to feel. Its absolute rubbish to use. It jams and locks when you try to dial it. I have had two replacements and they have both been useless.

  • windows mobile 6 supports only 65k colours, that's why the display is not 265k colours

  • I'm also experiecing problems with my HTC Touch Dual..which at first I thought was a great phone until I discovered it had a problem with reception and a weak signal strength. I reported this to HTC the manufacturers who offered to repair it and changed the System board of the phone but that didn't resolve the problem. I then contacted orange network who gave me another HTC Touch Dual..and guess what? it also has the same problem of weak signal strength...I have a friend who is on T-mobile who also is experiecing the same problem...I am going to call orange again and get them to send me another phone because I only just signed an 18mth contract with them

  • I hate this phone. I bought one in December 2007 thinking that WOW this is a phone but its not. Its too damn slow. the camera is a lousy camera. I do some calls and when my ear is touching the screen some software is activated without my demand. I hate it. I am going to smash this against a wall. Im buying HTC diamond or Samsung Omnia. I think I prefer the Omnia

  • Is the Touch Dual not have a TFT 252k colour screen? it says only 65k?

  • i have a htc touch dual for 8 months now.. everythin about the software is cool except that i am not getting good signal strenght in this phone.. and very frequent call drops.. i have tried the same sim card in other phones and i am getting full signal strengh in other handsets. I have even tried using the ppc with other sim cards but still there is the same problem.. and above that when i gave the phone for getting it repaired the htc people say that they r not able to find out the cause of the problem.. i am thinking of selling this phone off..

  • i have dopod 818pro and wanted to trade with htc touch dual...do u think it's worthy?

  • extremely disappointed that it doesnt have WiFi... But i am still considering buying one, since the Australian carrier, Telstra, doesnt seem to offer anything much better. iPhone is a bit overpriced. Windows Mobile 6 would probably pwn iPhone if used for productivity i.e. microsoft office, calendar, organisation etc.

  • I have had one of these since last december and it is bad! It freeses constantly, it hangs up often when I try to answer calls, it switches the phone off in mid calls... There are so many things bad about this phone that I just can not list them all. It is SLOWWWWW. The camera is bad. The Keyboard is bad. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

  • I have my HTC Dual now for 3months Windows mobile is great especially when syncing with work outlook server. I will never miss a meeting or email again. The only problem is that the battery does run down fairly quickly.

  • Here: Im getting my Touch Dual tomorrow, cant wait!

  • where can i find such soft or patch file for this great htc dual phone. thanx for the info.

  • Keep an eye on the specs of this lil powerfull PPC, it turns out that it has Wi-Fi or atleast has a Wi-Fi antenna thats been disabled by software, the guys over at XDA-Developers are working on a Wi-Fi patch that will enable the antenna,so VERY soon we will have Wi-Fi on our Touch Duals!! :-)

  • Hello,I wonder whether the stylus of this phone is suitable for other types? And could you please tell me what are they? Best Regards

  • every other HTC Touch has a GPS! whats up with this one!?

  • This is by far the best phone I have ever had but in a moment of anger because of 2 huge problems I have just thrown it at the office wall because 1) it freezes so many time and 2) even with settings set to answer when you slide the keypad to open most calls are disconected. Time to buy something different.

  • Great phone. Touchscreen and Windows Mobile new to me and wow its great so far. Just do note, as a camera phone it is undeniably weak. But as a portable media player, strong candidate. As an organizer, Windows Mobile period. As a phone, the keypad makes messaging and dialing much easier. Wndows Mobile really shines the moment you load up the applications. So much more powerful compared to those for smartphones (Windows Mobile is not smartphones per se. They are PDA phones which are more akin to intelligent phones rather than just smart).

  • This phone is great. The look and feel is awesome. But i have been researching on the chinese viewing and chinese input but to no avail. Kind souls to mail me [email protected] to help me. Thanks

  • no wlan/wi-fi?

  • How about the short battery life of this phone? Mine goes flat too quickly and need to be recharged every night. Is it normal?

  • My HTC is awsome but the camera is not very good with only 2MP and no flash.

  • i do hav a 12mpx camera, but then do u carry ya camera to work & everywhere else everytime? wen those unexpected moment arise & u need 2 capture them quick, instead of drivin all da way back home to pick up ya 12mpx camera, u cud jus slip ya hand in ya pocket & pull out ya WM based phone wit a 5mpx camera right there. oh i 4got, MW phone dnt hav 5mpx cameras, oh so i guess u jus capture them moments on ya 1.3mpx phone & hope dat in wont b cloudy

  • Thanx dawg! Now dat makes a whole lot of sense, dat mayb 65k screen might b a WM restrictions cause I've checked other phone brands dat run an WM OS and found that most, if not all, hav 65k screens. Thanx again man, much appreciate!

  • hi to all i hav read a lot of oppinions of this phone and didnt find much useful comments but even then i ended up buyin the phone yesterday. so this is a help to ppl plannin for htc The phone is beautifull to look at and use ear piece is bad phone cover is worse they could have given something better touch interphase is better than touch actually brilliant the ring vollume is amazingly loud there is no wifi for sure and its fine by me camera quality is okie nothing great gprs works fast i love the text input and t9 is better than nokia photo viewing is awsome the task bar when u slide open the device is the most useful thing i hav ever seen keypad is fast to b honest the best touch screen ever used by me i have used O2 mini, O2atom executive and O2 zink in my opinion those who r looking for beauty with brains this is your choice and once more there is no wifi in this phone so best of luck to all the buyers its beautifull hope u join the gang

  • It's good phone. Internet is fast and slim. I can use Chinese and Japanese input and browsing. The only negative part is the ear pierce. Attached ear pierce is not good. I bought bluetooth.

  • Yea. Think its Windows Mobile. The Moto Q9h also 65k colours running on WM6.

  • Thanks for the feedback - I did consider the wifi / GPS issue, but at the end of the day I have the net at home and work, so its not a drama. the GPS would be nice but again I can live without it. I am just concerned that the phone reacts a little slow. I just looked at the Omnia and Diamond today and they respond quicker (messaging, programes). Is there any way for this to be overcome or is it just the way the phone is???

  • I have had this phone for a few months now and I am still finding new features and ways that it can enhance my life (thanks to the joy of windows and millions of apps) I have found a Review of the HTC Touch Duals camera and also a compiled a list of handy and mostly free applications here:

  • Agree. The sliding keypad does make it easier for beginners to feel "at home". Also the keypad makes this a more accessible phone than non keypad WM devices. So someone looking for say the organizing capabilities of Windows Mobile while retaining a robust phone setup, the Touch Dual is higly recommended. Just do bear in mind for the price you're paying, you don't get things like GPS and Wi-Fi which seems the norm these days.

  • Get yourself a real camera 8..10Mpix and 3..4x zoom if you want real pictures! Or, even better, a DSLR with 2 zoom lenses. Canon, Nikon, Olympus... For a phone and PDA 2Mpix camera is just fine. Or would you like a multimedia phone like Nokia N90? But Nokia does not have Windows OS, and the Symbian sucks in comparison with Windows Mobile.

  • CAn u use it as a GPS device

  • Less then a week old the phone's at the Service Centre. 3G signal strengh was good showing almost full bars but can't make or receive calls, can't send or receive SMS and can't establish data connections. Checked with the service provider, they confirm my line is working and their 3G network is good. Anyone experience something like this?

  • I think the phone is a good entry for someone new to Windows mobile and PDA's in general. I am happy with the phone. A little bit of lag but nothing to cry about. I do want to know if everyone else experience's the delayed time adjustment when you turn the phone back on (off dormant). The phone will show the old time (last time it was on) then quickly show the current time - IS THIS NORMAL?

  • how can i change language....gyz help me

  • 1) 65k colour is more a Windows Mobile restriction not HTC. Look around, there's not a single WM6.0 device that spots a 65k colour in their OS. The screen might display 262k but WM doesn't. 2) WM devices aren't exactly multimedia centric devices. They are PDA phones not exactly smartphones. I.e. they are a PDA with phone functionalities as opposed to phones with "smart" functions. That said, high end HTC devices do pack 3.0+ MP lenses.

  • Wat da hell it's with HTC mobiles and their 65k colour displays & 1.3mp/2mp poor cameras? Helloooo...dats like so last millenium. Arent they supposed to be 1 of da greatest techno junkies out there? Seems like they are stuck in da ancient times. Havnt they heard of 256kilopixels, let alone 16gigapixels screens? Who da hell wants to watch or capture moments on an ancient screen? Dats like watchin a high definition motion picture on a black&white tv. These peeps got to pull up their socks way up above their ankles. While they at it they shud upgrade i-mate screens & cams as well. Such rip-offs.

  • Bought 3 months ago. Overall, still like this phone. Works fine since. But don't like 2 things. 1. touch screen not sensitve, so need to press hard with stylus. 2. Caller ID display numbers too small.

  • Yes it can. go to the skype website and look for skype pocketpc version. I found that is the best working version for windows mobile phone. If you need I can mail you the cab file. [email protected]

  • install H_ChineseSupportAllinOne.cab will enable you to read chinese and type 60% of the chinese character. If you need I can email you the file. Mail me on [email protected]

  • Is the e-mail system for the htc touch dual push or pull?

  • BAD: The reception from this device is very poor. Am currently using the T-mobile version of Touch (a heavy user). Never had signalling problem with other 3G PDA or 3G Smartphone @ home before but with this device, I could literally get miss-call msg or vmail because callers couldnt get through to me and this happens 60% of the time which is very poor. This issue also happens with full strength signals. This is actually the first time am having issues with PDA ever. I think the antennal module is just wrong or not functioning appropriately for this device. Noted issues are SIM and Phone contacts get displayed @ the same time. Other PDA or Smartphones have the option of displaying either SIM or Phone contacts. User should have the option of permanently disabling XT9 but that is not happening in this case. That being said, other functionalities are spot on.

  • This is a very bad and annoying device. The camera is lousy, the software is slow and needs frequent re-booting. The interface is soooooo slow and poorly designed. I chose this one because it has the keyboard so I can make phonecalls without looking at the touch screen. The keyboard is nearly flat en I must look at it while making calls. Bad bad bad. I have had it since last desember and I regret having bought it. Beware! Expensive junk! Believe me, I have had many phones and this is the very worst one.

  • No wifi! Otherwise a good-buy!

  • BAD: - Software is slow. Change from landscape to portrait screen takes 2 seconds. Response time touch screen is slow, 1-2 seconds. - Freezes to often. I have if for 2 months and had to remove batery 15 times becouse device didnt response to any key nor hard ON OFF button. Restoring to factory settings didnt help.

  • well, im getting the htc touch dual this week.. i dnt really care about Wifi or wylan, but i was just wondering if its any good? is it...?

  • Hi do this model has WIFI ? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your kind attention.

  • Ooops just realized that it hasnt got Wlan! It is the older version that is equipped with it! What a joke, it is a business phone without WLan function! Now not even considering buying it!!!

  • GSM ARENA actually made a mistake. It has built in Wlan! Not sure how succha mistake could be actually allowed...

  • i only used this phone for three month only because i sell it and found these problem: 1.battery problem (always cannot on the phone and auto off). 2.not suitable for people with tention work (have to use softly) 3.the touch screen is not sensitif and sharp like O2 phone 4.hinge loose always

  • this phone is very good i'm using...htc you are great..bravooo

  • i do think i like men but i need to try it first

  • No wlan??? WTF???

  • Got the HTC about 3months ago, what a crappy phone... This phone is suppose to be a great way to stay in touch out of the office, BUT it has to be the most expensive to use for email there are no unlimited Data plans! I have since got rid of the HTC and purchased a blackberry which performs great and has unlimited Data plans at a great price! Think twice before purchasing this mobile the screen or camera are not to good.

  • hi, anyone knows where to register for the warranty?(Singapore) thanks.

  • In my opinion, it makes no sense to buy communicator without Wi-Fi. In many countries GPRS traffic is still very expensive and completely useless. I really don't understand why HTC removed Wi-Fi from this model. So, HTC Touch Dual has no Wi-Fi, no GPS, no radio, poor camera and... very expensive price... Is it really worth it? I can agree, that Win Mobile based business model may have a poor camera, player etc, but I'll never agree with Wi-Fi absence.

  • how to let the phone read Chinese?

  • The phone performs great, BUT the camera quality isn't that good!

  • Can this phone load Skype?

  • goodlooking handset, though often overpriced here in Australia. Haven't sold one which has come back faulty so, so far seems to be pretty reliable

  • I dont think so that u cant do anything without stylus will be correct for this phone. Might be some are facing problems with touchscreen or this might be there first touch phone. very rarely i use stylus for this phone like when i am in contacts. It is a very good phone indeed. but look before u buy if u want wi-fi or camera with flash. The camera quality is also good in good lighting conditions, in the night i had not checked this phone till now. Sound quality is also good treble is little bit on higher side. Battery stays for more than 2 days but i think it will stay more as its new so i am using a little bit of more multimedia applications right now on this phone. After heavy usage for 2 days the battery was 24% remaining. The more the applications are running in the background also the faster the battery will drain. Hope this review helps will update it in near future

  • does this phone have a flash?? and did someone say it doesn't have wifi? weird! Any recommendations of general good phones??

  • CAn this phone load Skype Mobile ????

  • i just sold my HTC Touch Dual after 7 days. i don't thinks this is a touch base phone because you can't do anything correct with it without stylus. especially if you want to change the language to Arabic then even stylus will not help you any more. in sun light you can't see screen. sometimes calculator doesn't calculate correctly and show you zero number. the sound quality of films that you captured is awful. not so sure about this one, but you can't send some captured file via bluetooth. what about the keypad ?! just one word its useless.

  • do this phones features work like they should in the United States?

  • Can any body help, using internet explorer while scrolling often it dose'nt stop it keeps on going downwards or upwards , I tried tapping once and also twice how can I make the scrolling stop where I want it to stop ???

  • can any body help me about the scrolling while using internet explorer while scrolling often it dose'nt stop it keeps on going downwards or upwards I taped ones and also twice but dose'nt help ????

  • The phone is very good. I had a HP 6915 and I never used its WiFi and I can bet 90% of You who are so dissapointed with the absence of WiFi in this phone, would never really use it anyway. It is a great phone!!! Every recomendations.

  • sure as hell this is gonna be a big piece of junk that will never take off... its elder brother touch has wifi and this new and latest one does not have wifi...what kind of a logic do the htc guys have in their head..??

  • right.. coz u need to sell yur sets away. tt's why it rox right haha.. anyway with out wifi sure sux

  • HTC do NOT offer international warranty. Great phone for Telstra Next g

  • I have had this phone for approx 2 weeks. Sending back today. Receiving calls is absolutely crap, keeps cuting out after about 30 seconds.

  • Again. This phone is so bad I was happy when the microphone in mine stopped working. It will be replaced. My son frequently borrows my phone so he can call for free. Even he no longer wants to use the phone despite the free usage. It is a terrible device. If you buy one you will be disappointed! Olafur

  • Only one big question... Why no WLAN????????????????????????????? It's very big mistake, which definitely will stop many people from buying this model. You are very right my dear, I had purchased one htc dual before two days only, and now I will sale it and go back to my old one ( htc touch ) only because of NO WLAN, I dont know what is the idea of removing WLAN from this mobile, really it is very big, big, big mistake, I feel sorry.

  • Can anyone tell me if i can change the language on the dual touch as it is in french

  • I think it looks like a very nice phone, but what are it's general aspects like? GSMArena, we need a review!

  • since i don use GPS and Wifi at all, I sold my HTC 3600 and change to touch dual, because I prefer with keypad. Has used it for a week, so far no problem, the response is abt the same with 3600, just slightly faster, not obviously. The only cons with this phone is, the touch screen is not sensitive enough, sometimes u need to touch hardly or touch few times then it works. I shall change the screen protector and try out again.

  • RE: Annette (WiFi and HSDPA) HSDPA = High Speed Downlink Packet Access, is a protocol for mobile telephone data transmission also known as a 3.5G, it runs through your mobile phone network meaning user will inccur charges for usage. WiFi = Wireless Fidelity, is the popular term for a high-frequency wireless local area network (WLAN) technology, meaning tapping into the internet via a wireless network whether it be work or home. Since you are utilizing an existing network, so it would be free. hope this answer your questions :) p.s. I can relate to mika, coz i use to have and O2 Atome Life and I have used the WiFi for less than 10 times over the 6mth period i've had it.

  • So you can recommend this phone, and the internetaccess through hspda?

  • why people keep harping on about wifi... if you were in the countryside or camp site which one are you more likely to have in your vicinity wifi or hspda secondly wifi is not up to scratch when your talking security and it's pots luck you will find access points with no security travelling on the bus. isn't it more likely that more devices in the future will have bluetooth rather than wifi so you could always network your devices using bluetooh and use the hspda as your access point I got this phone yesterday and the only thing that would of been nice to have, although a luxury is the gps,had the mda compact 3 last year and only used gps 5 to 8 times. the only drawback about this handset is the pouch provided

  • Sorry what's the difference between wifi and HSDPA?

  • you people and Wifi...geta life is the best pda to date....

  • why no wifi connectivity this is the worst mistake htc has done with this phone, earlier using htc touch wfich got wifi connectivity, but with higher version why no wifi??????

  • Great phone. It takes more than a week to become friends with this apparaat and WM6 but then you have a real friend. Minor points: no wifi, gps and qwerty keyboard. Who needs wifi when there is HSDPA and a BT GPS unit I already had.The loss of the keyboard takes longer to life with (my former phone is a HTC9100).

  • the keyboard is 20 key if you come from using a normal phone it will take some time to getting used to. this is a very powerfull pocket PC and i am very happy with the design and functionality. it should'nt be a problem when against your head during calls.

  • Can someone who use this handphone please help to comment the this phone ringing volume. Is the ringing sound loud enough. Thanks.

  • I have had this phone since Desember, it is annoying. The slide-out keyboard is impossible to read and unusable for texting. The touch screen remains active during calls and therefore I end up starting lots of programs by just pressing it against my face while talking. The mini-USB connector is on the lower left hand side making the phone nearly unusable while charging. The 2MP camera is the worst one I have ever used (and I have had many phones). There are just too many little things that bother me to no end with this phone. All sorts of annoyance with the UI and its functionality. There is a selection of on-screen keyboards and bandwriting recognition tools. The best keyboard I have is called PDAMedia KBD. I found it on the net and installed myself. I am so frustrated that I have stopped using the phone and reverted to my SE P990. Be warned. Olafur

  • does it have blackberry connectivity?

  • i would like all branded companies to manufacture dual sim card mobiles like what china is doing.

  • I really think to buy this one... but without WiFi, I have to reconsider it

  • its more than great .but why no lan ?????????????its only disadantage for this product

  • Can This Phone Withstand Tough Handling? Thnx

  • I can't understand why this model(HTC Touch Dual) it has been released since last NOV 2007 in Gulf & up to this time Feb 2008 not released with Arabic version which is the main language in gulf.please comment & informing me when it is going to be release in arabic version. Thanks

  • Only one big question.. Why no WLAN????????????????????????????? It's very big mistake, which definitely will stop many people from buying this model.

  • Hi, had this phone for two weeks. Bought it in Belgium with AZERTY keypad, works great! Quick processor, nice specs and functions and battery life is what can be expected for this kind of handset. To Marios, don't compare apples and oranges please...

  • Try wiping your service providers software off the phone and putting a clean install of windows mobile 6 on it. It should speed things up quite a lot. Careful you dont wipe anything you need from it tho, but im sure you will be able to get any extra software u need from the htc site

  • Its a great phone ! Its not slow ! I have both TYTN II and TOUCH DUAL and touch dual is much faster even if they have the same processor class... Also I would have loved it if it was all chrome like the middle of the housing :) Another great thing would have been instead of the vertical keyboard a orizontal keyboard like on tytn. Other then this its a great device, the operating system is much improved in terms of functionality.

  • I just recently got this phone after selling my HTC TYTN II on Ebay. For those of you that call this phone slow, keep in mind, the TYTN and the Touch Dual use the same processor 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM - Qualcomm MSM 7200, 400 MHz processor. I don't need wifi, so that wasn't an issue for me. The TYTN is much heavier that the Touch Dual, and the Touch Dual is heavier than the Touch. As it should be, with the addition of the slide out keyboard. The TYTN is a great phone and may just be one of the best smart phones ever made, but it was a little too bulky for my taste. If you can't live without wifi or a qwerty keyboard, the Touch Dual isn't for you.

  • i only you this phone for a month and going to sell it again. this phone is so slow, you have to wait for 3 seconds before it's respond. touch flo is inovative but still do not enough to be recomended

  • Don't Buy this phone or any other with Qualcomm MSMXXXX HTC has refused to develope proper drivers for the graphic processor built in which causes this phone to run at a substandard rate much lower than much older phones.

  • just wondering whether I can also buy a car charger for this hp? Anywhere to suggest in PJ or KL? TQVM!

  • Hi, is any one know how to change touch dual the GSM from Tri-band to Quad-band, for the better reception in USA.

  • So I am getting this phone and wanted to what size expandable cards you can get??? I was very impressed with the technology uses...so I guess ill let you all know when I get it next week...

  • I am one that like handsets from HTC. HTC Touch Dual is one of my favorite, however it doesn't support Wi-Fi and FM Radio. I really would like to know much more about Touch Dual. Would GSMArena pls make a REVIEW of this prototype? Anyway, does anyone knows that "How is the sound quality of Touch Dual compare to other handsets? Pls reply to me as possible... Big Thanks...

  • Ok - so my S710 was very slow, but my Dual has improved on that issue. However the battery life sucks - needs an extra daily recharge to make it through the day. Keyboard backlight very poor and doesn't cover all keys. I am not getting the hang of the 20 key qwerty at all and tend to use the onscreen. Anyone else had issues with Windows Mobile 6 Contacts program losing data?

  • I had this phone the grand total of 15 days and hated every single one of them. the size, styling and feel are great. BUT...the keypad is a nightmare. the predictive text was terrible. processor was slow. camera is awful, no flash either on something so large. the touchflo is really good software but so many niggly things make it a terrible handset to use day to day.simple tasks like adding a new number...and another MAJOR annoyance, that the alarm function must have the phone on make noise. you cannot set the phone to silent and have an alarm on so should someone ring or text while you are TRYING to sleep, you will be woken. i am a student who wanted something just a bit different as an upgrade. business users this may be for you but for me it was without doubt the worst handset i have ever owned.

  • why did u buy it in the firts place?!! No Wifi, so you can change and get the touch or touch crusie with a WIFI connection instead!! some people do not want wifi connections on their handsets like me !! I find it extremely good, next time u can check the features of the device before buying it!

  • hi is this phone louder than the black 8GB nokia N95 thanks

  • Ye, wats with the lack of wifi? wheres the point in a smart phone in 2008 without wifi. I mean even the W960i has wifi! and thats a music phone! apart from that seems a very nice smartphone, although i really cannot do with windows mobile, its quite a clunky interface...

  • i'm so disappointed, they recover the main disadvantage in the htc touch "no 3G", with another disadvantage "no wi-fi", i realy don't know why they don't want to put both of them in this phone

  • This is a very good and beautiful phone. I'm one of the first people who have this. I'll olso sel them very good, because it's easy tho work with it. SUPER!!!! Tiel - Netherlands

  • FYI It has been confirmed, the Jap version (exact same thing) has WiFi :D I just asked my friend to send me one. The one thing "wrong" is it would also have Jap insert as well.

  • no wi-fi??unbelievable!!!!this phone is a shame for pda phones and generally smartphones...shame on you htc..you have deviced a useless phone for nowadays...this phone brought me memories of the 90s...2 megapixel and without flash???65000 coulors display...i feel very sorry of the users of this phone...have a nice day!! P1 forever!!! well done sony ericsson!!!!

  • Lovely pocket Pc,but dissapointed, cant make my Navigation software to work.GPRS settings on mobile, but failing to set up.Any help from someone how to resolve this.

  • waiting for iPhoneME (TM) currently in the worx? HSPA as a surplus compared to the old, ActiveSync built-in (Apple embraces Intel now, so Windows is not an enemy any more) for all that really need it; the surface finally is not that delicate to fingerprints and, what a whopper, it is 3mm slimmer and 30 grams lighter, protos kinda feel like "touch"! Tough network provider glueing to be more intelligent (at least for some governments); general availability could be april - or so ;-)

  • Does anyone know how to change the right and left soft key "program" at the main menu?

  • Hi Guys Don't blame this model, if you're looking for phone with WIFI, you can select HTC Touch instead of HTC Touch Dual, both phones are not expensive, if you want everything (like 3G, WIFI, keypad...) you can select others like Tytn, Cruise, O2 ... but price will cost you a bomb. Please study your ideal phone spec. before buying and don't blaming on the phone don't have this and that after that. I bot this phone too, I've O2 Atom Exec, O2 Zinc, SE P1i and HP 112 classic at home, all having WIFI, and I use my HP 112 whenever I need WIFI, maybe you can say why so troublesome to bring 2 PDA, this is all depend on your own preference, I prefer to have a big screen (min 3.5") to view my drama on the move and I'm not a heavy WIFI user so I bot this HTC Touch Dual, and I'm very happy with this high ROM,high RAM phone. If first time PDA buyer, I would recommend you to buy HTC Touch instead of HTC Touch Dual as Touch price is consider not expensive as you compare with other PDA phones, and Touch have almost everyhing (except 3G), if you still don't get used of PDA phone, you still can use it for other purpose without SIM card. So, choose your ideal phone, study the specs aand comments before buying your new phone. Sorry if I offence you.

  • A windows mobile 6 phone with the advantage of a normal keypad AND touchflo feature like an Iphone. A dream combination on any PDA. After hitting a jackpot of a combo what do the HTC guys do ??? They goof up like a bunch of stupid geeks and dont provide WLAN. And bundle a very weak battery (only 1120 mAh. Most PDA's have around 1500 mAh). Why HTC Why ????

  • Hey guys i want to know how i can have internet if there is not WLAN on the phone! Please help me! Is touch better than this?

  • I just got this phone & it really pissed me offffffff when i found out about no wifi. i dont know what the hell these people making it thought? u pay all this money and no wifi??? i had my tytnI & it was great.I dont recomend it if you use wifi.

  • well for almost 400 its not worth the money, slide action is crap, the slide down keypad looks cheap and feels like the keypad would come away after using it a lot as it looks as if its stuck on with pritt stick, the touch flo was good when it wanted to work, I'd say that phone should be cheaper for what it is then orange won't moan to much that they need to con us to stay afloat haha cheapskate network

  • no wifi!!!! dah...

  • Too bad, no WLAN for such high end phone like this.

  • you have not mention how much we can upgrade memory

  • i was just going to buy this phone ..lucky to see here that there is no wifi in this phone..!!! :-(

  • i just wonder why htc touch dual don't have wifi technology while htc touch got it? anyone own this phone can clarify this. is it true?

  • its the best windows phone i have used. but still got sent back on second day of use. pros -great quality phone feels great in your hand its small but noy too small -has great htc interface can access call emails txt weather or appoitments with easy -its fairly quick for windows phone. cons - its not quick enough -its a pain in the ass to txt or email. if you txt or email a lot then this phone is not for you. -LACK of full QWERTY key pad. overall this phone is very good certaininly if you want something that you dont need to be txting or emailing all day but the odd one here and there. its great for calling its small and is a quality device. htc are getting close to making the first windows based phone that i will use

  • no wi fi?????? r u serious??? :(((

  • No WiFi? com'on that's the essential featere these days. Dissapointed!

  • Ok, for those with Nokia's comparing their fone to this handset wondering if its a good upgrade the answer is Yes, by far. Firstly its windows based so everything sync's through to your computer perfectly as you would expect from a windows handset. From all of your contacts down to installing programmes its soooo easy. Secondly it handles videos very well being able to support divx type files so the quality is near perfect for a screen this size. Be glad your in a position where you can upgrade to this fone because i can't im tied in for 12months :(

  • There is an SMS software that works with all windows based phones called Jeyo..check this link.

  • is the HTC can write SMS with This Keypad..?????

  • I am keen on buying this phone, but need to know how does wi fi serve the need in a mobile phone if edge is activated?

  • I have the HTC touch, and it is CRAP CRAP CRAP! After 8 weeks the creen malfunctioned big time and everytime you tried use the stylus, it would just respond to something else on teh screen. Hence it was a real pain using the touch pad for making calls and frustrating to use my calendar, as i ened up having to manoever with the square button on the bottom. Anyone having the same problem with the dual in this respect?

  • I was wondering if the video playback is any good? At the moment i got a N73, and i use it as a pvp(pmp). I know the N73 can run video at 15fps, but i cant find any info about the touch dual, in that regard. I also know the N73 can run video in other framerates, it just displays them at 15fps, so how is the touch dual in that regard? There was a video review(The only review i cud find, that showed the video playback), that showed the touch dual playing video, but it never showed it running in fullscreen, can it? Lots of dumb questions, i know... x-)

  • I haven't buy this phone yet. I just wonder, can I use this phone using Bluetooth connection for send/receive sms from my computer? This is the most concern function. If Active Sync doesn't support, any other opinion? Need your advice urgently. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Ive been using nokia for awhile. and one thing i really appreciate is its pcsync software which allows me to archive my sms. can some recommend me a programme that works with mobile 6? thanks. im presuming it doesnt come with similar softwares. thanks for your suggestion.

  • Why no Wifi ??????? ha

  • This phone is good enough for those 1st time user to touch on PDA phone, why - because you can't find a PDA phone that is under S$500 with a 2 years mobile plan. I had Acer n30, HP 2110, Eten M500, Dopod 818 Pro, O2 mini, O2 Atom Exec (Experienced O2 Zinc)and now HTC Touch Dual and this is the cheapest PDA phone among all, but if you really need WIFI, please choose other model

  • GPS - The 'Icon' is provided in the phone, but you need to purchase a GPS navigator and Mapking 2007. I had all these with map when I use my O2 Atom Exec, so I think it should be the same way to install in HTC. WIFI - Confirmed HTC Touch Dual in Singapore don't support WIFI Keypad - mine is 16 instead of 20.

  • Just had my Touch Dual for almost one week, very satisfied but did anyone know you cannot use any handphone pouch with magnetic button, it will trigger the power switch, once you slide the phone in that pouch, the next min you can see your phone is power on (I disable all the switch except the power switch), I tried on my SE P1i and O2 Atom Exec, O2 Atom Exec never switch on, SE P1i sometimes, but HTC Touch Dual power on everytime, I have to keep all my fancy pouch in the drawer and use the normal one, Sigh). The next thing is I cannot use TCPMP to view my realplayer file (format is *.flv) even I associate all the file, still cannot read, since flv is realplayer file, maybe I should download mobile realplayer in this phone. Overall my score to this phone is 9 out of ten.

  • why the heck did they take off the WiFi??? Id buy it right away if it had wifi :(

  • Can anybody tell me if I can install any GPS software in the HTC Touch Dual? Thanks!

  • funny little smartphone without Wifi

  • "The reason why it came out without the WI-Fi is because wireless providers don't want you to have it! In essence, you can make an IP phone call without using your providers network, for network providers the killer application can be as deadly to them..." this was a post from Stevens, it should explain this question as to "why" HTC took WiFi out of this phone and Jenny (from Singapore), this is why WiFi is so important for many Windows Mobile users :)

  • Before everybody start giving expert opinion regarding HTC Dual Touch, let me give you our EXPERT OPINION where we have bought as a Company 15 pieces of those. The DUAL TOUCH looks GREAT and it is VERY PRACTICAL. We got them with the 20 keypads so each keypad has assigned 2 letters, and it is a 3G and for us the Wi-Fi application was not important. HTC has done an excellent job since is giving choices to everybody: 1) Touch (cheapest, no keypads, no 3G, yes Wi-Fi) 2) DUAL Touch (medium price, yes keypad, yes 3G, no Wifi) 3) TyTN II (high price, yes keypad/qwerty, yes 3G, yes Wi-fi) Sorry that HTC can NOT make for most of you the one that has EVERYTHING and it is the cheapest!!

  • No GPS No WiFi Is it for Bus or for ? first one with Wifi why this no

  • Oh, I can't imagine one HTC phone like Dual Touch but don't have Wireless, so what I buy this phone for? I'm afraid that is a big mistake of HTC.

  • This would be a great phone if it included wi-fi...

  • Ugly as sin, nice stats though.

  • SO SILLY...an enhanced model of Touch that comes with keypad but removed the wifi!

  • I want to have this phone for my Christmas present. Initially I want to buy O2 Life, but the comments frighthen me away, so after reading here and there, I decide to buy HTC Touch Dual, I'm using O2 Atom Exec now, this phone is still very good to me but I want to have a 3G video call phone and the RAM and ROM are much higher than Atom Exec and the price is still within my budget. Of course I prefer to have WIFI + GPS but these are not the must for me, all the features in this phone already good enough for me. Can't wait to buy, now need to open my eyes to see which operator give me good offer. Jenny (Singapore)

  • It's available for sale in Singapore, i'm using it right now The operating speed is fast, just like Tytn ii. However, it sometimes hang there while trying to open an application or running some other things. Let's hope HTC will rectify this problem soon Meanwhile, the ringing tone volume is the same as O2 xda Zinc, the phone call volume is the same as O2 Zinc too One last thing, there's no antenna for Wifi & GPS, developers will not be able to activate both these functions

  • I used Mobile phones all my life in fact I had a retail outlet for 8 years and was selling mobile phones only. I like this mobile it is very good ..Big set back with out wifi .but thats not the problem, I have a bigger problem I have only been using this phone for few days and I am having problems, it is my ears! , since I have been using this phone it has been hurting my ears I dont know what it is but it is some thing to do with the phone I have even switch ears still hurts the phone speaker and around the speaker is very smooth so thats not it , it is very hard to explain , I think there are some extra rays coming out of the phone that is making my ear sore .can any one share the same experience as me I am not going crazy but I think it is important that I mention this just in case there is a real fault on the phone. Regards Ash

  • There's a atomic bonb in store! and it's touch dual!

  • Judging by HTC's Australian site, Australia will be getting the 16 key keypad version and not the 20 key Qwerty-ish pad. would have preferred the 20 key version...

  • @turbo if you want to upgrade your TyTN, get a TyTN II. the Touch is NOT an upgrade from the old TyTN, mate! it is only an upgrade to the old Touch.

  • The keypad HTC offers two options a 20 key suretype a standard keypad UK operators are opting for the standard option

  • looking at this phone on Expansys it has a normal T9 keypad, but the description says qwerty keyboard. The enlarged pictured on this site does show a qwerty style keyboard on the slide out, but how do you know which you are buying? I'm actually more used to T9 but if i was writing an email i would use an on screen qwerty. Does anyone know the answer?

  • Still have the HTC TyTn, thinking about upgrading to this phone. Does anyone know the quality of the 2meg pix camera? The camera on the old TyTn was not very good, still2 meg but has the Touch Dual improved performance at all?

  • Comes in that nice dark red Nokia 6210's did I like it

  • We want WIFI badly...I hate not being able to download at my home via WIFI...

  • That is 100% correct, you can not use your with your houses wirless router with this phone. GSM and GPRS and 3G HSDPA only.

  • Hi I know that it doesnt have WIFI, does that mean that you cant use it through wireless like i have in my house?

  • @Ismail: Because MicroSD Wifi is just vapourware. One company announced such a card one year ago, but the card is still not ready, and probably never will be, and can't be purchased anywhere in the world. Sorry :(

  • Good phone:)

  • This is to the "Touch..slow 200 mhz processor=dealbreaker..." person. I currently own both the HTC Touch and O2 Life and I don't find that having the 620 MHz processor (on the O2) is "dramatically" different in speed. In fact, I find the HTC having a drop-down to close all application is much easier to free up memory rather than the "start, settings, memory...". About the "I will pay whatever..only if I get what I want!". I just find that everyone have different taste, so people can buy whatever they want. You are not the only rich person in this world unfortunately. :) p.s. heard the Jap version has WIFI

  • The reason why it came out without the WI-Fi is because wireless providers don't want you to have it! In essence, you can make an IP phone call without using your providers network, for network providers the killer application can be as deadly to them...

  • Why can't you just buy a WiFi card and slot in the SD slot to make the device WiFi enable????

  • Touch..slow 200 mhz processor=dealbreaker. Touch Dual..no wifi= deal breaker. HTC!! What are you doing?!! Great designs...not so good decisions upstairs. I want this phone but won't buy either because of those 2 dealbreakers. I travel alot and I need a good processor and wifi. End of story. I will pay whatever..only if I get what I want!

  • Can you make or receive a call on the Touch Dual without sliding the keypad out.

  • no Wifi? sucks! geez... i really want the HTC shift that's pretty cool

  • Realy no WiFi!

  • Wifi or not Wifi this model?? I got dude.

  • Why??? :-( No WE FI why???

  • I think it's processor support gps and wifi functions. Hope hackers can enable these functions.

  • Unfortunately,no wifi,do not buy!

  • I think it has a WLAN/Wi-Fi. I read about that in Phonearena.com. Just check pls.

  • neone has info regarin the htc touch cruise....dubbed the polaris....pls provide a link thanks.

  • this phone touch dont have a wi-fi? If is not have that is not good.

  • how come some touch dual doesn' thave the qwerty keyboard?

  • I have a HTC Touch. I love it! I like that it doesn't have a keypad, is light and has a decent sized screen. I was hoping that HTC in an upgrade would follow the same principals. Instead the new model has a smaller screen, a slide out keypad and the same boring 2 meg camera. Wouldn't it have been great fot the upgrade to have incorporated a larger screen (to compete with the Viewty/iPhone) and a 3 meg camera. At least it now has 3G! It's a shame but I will have to change to the LG Viewty or iPhone unless HTC brings out a new slim, light, larger touch screen model that can compete.

  • I'm a current HTC touch user. I have been enjoying the wireless and touch screen. But the memory is real bad, I get not enough memory and storage. For this HTC Touch Dual:- Please improve the memory and storage. No WiFi, this is not good. I use Wireless as media to communicate with my mail system and it is very effective. the phone entries should not be limited. I will not upgrade without the Wi-Fi. Thanks.

  • HTC Polaris P3650 (touch cruise)Demo from www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com

  • sorry for double post here is link

  • guys there is a new touch call the HTC touch cruise*yes it sounds gay* it was formally known as the HTC polaris it has gps,radio,3mp cam and all that goodie but i dont think it got keypad it also has wifi it almost a all in one package like the kasier but with touch is due late nov check it out at engadget

  • haha..if u can't find your way back home after some drinks at the bar,i dun think so GPS would be any help.

  • From Andorra !!! No wifi, no GPS what are you doing HTC :P I don't buy HTC touch, because I'm waiting for HTC touch with 3G, wifi and GPS, when HTC !!!! when ?????

  • Everything is great about the phone except for Wi-fi.Can any HTC person say when to expect the same htc touch dual with Wi-fi.Really want to buy one but only absence of wi-fi is stopping.

  • how much is microsd wifi card?

  • zoom picture seems better than iphone. dose it have Patent?

  • Malaun.. I need GPS as the way from the bar to my house seems to change every night. Can you believe ?

  • with wifi, of course.

  • For asia market we already rolling out Wimax(4g).Wifi would be nice but not necessary coz 3.5g is better.I know why people wants Wifi bcoz its free.By the way,i think from HTC point of view is that they don't want to lose sales from the previous model. If Wifi is include in a newer model than nobody wants to buy the previous model.I think this will be the best PDA phone in the market for business people & not for gadget freak out there who actually wants it to function like pc or laptop.I still don't understand why people want GPS for? Do u really need GPS to tell where u are & where u should go? Are u that lost?

  • 1)No WiFi 2)Display 2,6" 3)TriBand 4)Standard battery, Li-Ion 1120 mAh 5)No GPS 6)Stupid Keyboard 7)More heavy and More size Why??? :-(

  • this windows mobile can throw if no wifi

  • i would rather they add 3G with wifi to the current Touch but minus the keypad...

  • I have the HTC Touch and I am very pleased of it. I even use it for my work without any troubles or issues. Seeing HTC upgrading the dual to 400MHz and taking WiFi out of it, I was shocked! That's a real stupid thing to do....... :?

  • japanese version of this phone has wi-fi. but sadly the ones releasing for the rest of the world won't have. only HSDPA

  • I've been waiting for this device for months to discover now that it has no WiFi, no 3G and no GPS, as announced months ago. Definitely not a business device.

  • I read somewhere else that the device is equiped with WiFi.

  • no wifi no space in the phone check out the htc polaris same specs and more ie wifi and 3 megapixle camera ...

  • Seems so... checked out the HTC site. No mention of WiFi.. such a waste.. else I'd buy this...

  • This is what was anticipated. Good thing is HTC realized that they have hit gold with HTC Touch, and as a natural successor comes HTC Touch Dual (read HTC Touch on Stereoids :)) Anyone Got Any Idea about the price range?

  • if the phone wants to last longer than 2 minutes talk time it will leave out the wifi for now. And for business talk time is more improtant than checking your facebook without having to use up your data plan while you're at the office.

  • But the normal touch has Wifi.

  • GSMarena? are you sure there's no wifi? aww..

  • 3G and wifi are a must, without the device is not complete.

  • The device is great but no WLan. I think this is a very serious feature especially when this suppose to be a business phone

  • - No GPS - No WiFi - Display 2,6" - Stupid Keyboard - TriBand - Standard battery, Li-Ion 1120 mAh - More heavy and More size Oh my God!!! HTCCCCCCC!!

  • disappointed with HTC

  • Stylish design, with a HSDPA, for hi-speed connections and video call. Easy to use like the HTC Touch with more input options and capacity. The processor is also faster than the original HTC Touch.

  • Sorry guys, 150% no WIFI. It's a shame, I really want this phone, but I don't want to spend the extra $$ on the TYTN II when I know this device is just what I need. Plus my carrier doesn't have 3G yet (T-Mobile USA) But that lack of WIFI is making me look at the S730 now. But I like TouchFLO + 400Mhz cpu. Hmm... What do you guys think? Is it still worthy for use on EDGE?

  • NO WIFI????????????????...why?

  • No Wlan!!! What is that???? I cannot realy understand why not

  • have wifi yes? o no?

  • a 65k screen :s the processor looks fine

  • i am sure ,japan nttdocomo ht1100(touch dual)have wifi.

  • I find it funny that people are saying "Oh why are people complaining that there's no wifi" or "you can't have everything/you can't make everyone happy." Well, wifi is a pretty big feature to have. Especially those of us in the US that have carriers (ie. T-Mobile) that are extremely slow with rolling out 3G. Plus, wifi is free as long as you have an access point, you still have to pay for 3G and it gets $$ with unlimited data plans. For these days with mobiles, wifi is a pretty big feature NOT to have in a pocket pc.

  • hey what's with the freakin' keyboard?!!

  • Hahaha... i find some people are just so deadly never contented of anything.... of course if they'll put all things then there'll be no more tomorrows. whats new whats next is the name of the game in technology guys. And ever the'll be complete unit... guess what what others will complain again?... blah blah blah they should hev a shaver, a microwave, a heater, a scanner, a printer etc.... features?????? hahahaha

  • It's pretty sweet that there are 2 keyboard layouts.

  • This device doesn't have WiFi, I just checked their official website. Now that's a deal-breaker.

  • No, there IS NO WI-FI. Go to europe.htc.com or www.htc.com, and navigate to product page and look at the spec sheets: no wi-fi mentioned anywhere. Sources say HTC did not include wi-fi or gps because "there was no room for it"...

  • no FM radio, no GPS!the wieght is good. what do you think GUYS..

  • no gps no fm radio no problem, wait and see!

  • yes there is WIFI, see specification

  • what software is that? one finger touch for zoom in and zoom out the picture

  • have wifi

  • Seems like there is still hope on WIFI... GMSArena, please update us..

  • TO EVERYBODY - STOP BLAMING HTC FOR NOT BUILDING THE PERFECT PHONE !! it's impossible at this moment to build a phone with so many pitchers and still keep it small and light!. I'll bet even if that phone had GPS,better camera, and all the late tec - you'd still complain about something !!! you have to choices - 1.BUILD A PHONE ON YOUR OWN 2.STOP COMPLAINING.

  • They just can't make the phone suitable for my needs :) - A lot of functions and a compact-light weight design. Touch has weak processor, lack of HDSPA..., this one improved all this, but lost WiFi!! Maybe the third version will have all the things I desire packed in one phone. Until then...

  • - No GPS - No WiFi - Display 2,6" - Stupid Keyboard - TriBand - Standard battery, Li-Ion 1120 mAh - More heavy and More size Oh my God!!! HTCCCCCCC!!!

  • No WiFi... useless for me. Bad move, HTC.

  • Finaly my fav Phone has arrived... For those who worry about Wi-Fi on this mobile... You could install Spectec SDW-823 MicroSD Wi-Fi card which cost about $ 150. The Mobile has 3G and a Tri - Band... All Europeans and Asians would be certainly happy about this. Ditch the iPhone and checkout the Power of Windows Mobile 6. You could even Install Skype in this, where as iPhone users have great envy on this :). Fantastic Job By - HTC & MicroSoft. BTW, Zune 2 is releasing tomorrow, checkout guys.

  • I have the HTC TOUCH and I am happy with it although slow.. Was waiting for this new version but what a let down!! A smartphone without WI-FI its a NO-NO...

  • This looks like a great combination of the TYTN II and the Touch. BUT...from what I'm reading, there is no WIFI. What's up with that? Even on HTC's press release, no mention of WIFI...

  • this is only tri band gsm, it lacks 850. it's only 2100 UMTS which means it will be useless on ATT 3g. sorry it's not the best.

  • My HTC Touch's call quality is not so good, hopefully they will improve with this slide model !

  • And the GPS??? :-( This HTC is not complet !!

  • Why? Why? Why no fm radio?? Weep!!

  • Nice phone. Can't wait to see it here in Sweden. Just bought a Nokia E65 but am seriously considering this phone. It has everything I need however the keypad is awful. I guess I will just have to compromise..

  • it doesn't show the name of ur received sms unless they r stored in int'l format(+336...).and when local numbers r stored in int'l format, the caller id will not identify them when calling you.Thats what I saw in touch opinion. Is it the same for this phone?

  • man.. look at the spec... this phone is a wonder... except that.. unfortunately... this phone doesnt come with camera flash... sigh... but overall... is still good...

  • Twice as fast CPU. twice user memory. I just wish O2 had not fallen out with HTC :-(

  • hot! hot! hot!

  • aha ! i'm the 1st one to review watts da diff between this & da prev model(touch)? apart 4m da qwerty kboard.

  • 1ST!!! I rule!!!
