Going on since 2014 phone is awesome battery still good everything awesome, just can't update from stock and I rooted with kingo, after that cannot install any apk's. Dropped many times right on cement still screen is mint, battery is amazing speed good for 2 g ram, too bad can't update or reset after root messed up built in apps like media storage and media.apk and installer fails

Unfortunately there was never an official update for this phone cause it's an excellent device! Nice screen size, cardreader, but above all: a magnificent battery life! I'm a normal user however not addicted to my smartphone and with the right settings I do 7 days on 1 battery charge - from 100% to 10% (keep in mind the right settings for battery life aren't every setting on "battery saving" cause for some of these settings the efficiency of the device will suffer causing a shorter battery life in reality. Sometimes it's better for battery life to choose "max performance". You just have to know which setting). Recently the battery life extended till 10 days! I don't know if it's because I changed a setting, changed provider or because I got the battery in a better condition while not always charging it full on holiday.

yes its a 1GB RAM.. its doesn't come with a 2GB RAM. plus your only given 4GB of freeze out of the 8GB. its freezes a lot, that's when the data is on. i have to press down on the power button to reboot it.. other from that, its great

got it 1 year ago from globe tlelecom..for me the downsides are 1 gig ram, slow gps & 1mp front camera..1 gig ram slows down the phone even when you maximizes performance on the power manager..ticking only 3 apps always running in background..it lags after one or two days that's why i have to restart it 3 times a week to resume its normal performance..if it were 2gig ram i think its perfect..gps takes forever to pinpoint your location..1mp front cam takes normal shot but the rear camera is awesome..the same quality as iphone 8mp..on the best side is the battery performance..mate will never let me down..usb on the go is great it can read memory cards, usb & 1 tb hard drive..the best part is it charges other devices, as power source like of speaker & as powerbank..here is my rating.. battery 10/10 camera 9/10 performance 6/10 because of 1gig ram gps 3/10

It has been 1 year i used Ascend Mate. the speaker sounds beautiful with Dolby. Interface? There is a lot of creativity from Huawei. 6,1" IPS Gorilla very sensitive, but i like it. 8MP with best quality, unfortunately the front camera is too small for every moment, i think. Until this week, Ascend Mate is still strong with powerful battery... Just need 2 hours for battery charge from 0%-80%.

Great phone, good build quality, better tham samdung, rooted easily and plenty of roms on xda developers, gps can be a little slow sometimes but no android phone is perfect, great size sceen with nice colours and excellent battery life, call quality is good and the internel speaker is loud and crisp, another good phone from Huawei,if they can improve their update procedure they could do much better but custom roms are available, overal excellent value for money

ive used this mate for 1 year til now. so far im really satisfied with the performance. the best thing im experincing so far is that the battery extremely really powerful. i can let it without charging for 4 days. which is hardly done with other smartphone. :) if im browsing the net and playing game, still can last for at least 1 day. what can i say is i really love this phone & wud recommend it to all! thank u!

Yes You can connect the mobile via data cable to TV (As like as Computer). I have also sony TV. When I connect to TV,the device is charging also. It will read only SD card not phone memory. After that It will play Mp3 songs, JPEG files, also Video files, depends upon the TV model,whatever TV support the Video files via USB, it will support also SD card. Means SD card will run as USB device.

I bought my Ascend Mate about two month ago and this phone is very good. I wonder why so many people complaining about this phone because my phone have no issue at all. The OS is very stable and smooth, good internet connection, playing heavy games like Dungeon Hunter 4, Eternity Warrior 3, Iron Knights and some other games very smooth. This phone also very easy to root. Just download Framaroot. Install it.. run the app.. reboot and in less than one minute your phone has been rooted without using a pc. My phone is rooted and run antutu benchmark with 20,000++ score. No hang or lag at all.

Yesterday I took the photo's and videos from ascend mate while taking the vdo and pics, its getting too hot another issues it has only 1 gb and 4gb capacity.i couldn't keep my all vdo and photos in it,because its getting stuck ,cant go to camera app and showing black screen. when i cut and paste all the vdos pics from mate to my computer its getting working normal...I think 1 GB and 4gb not enough to my phone take the so many pics and videos... (from Nov 21 2013) but no official updates yet....but can find update files in some webs... Once dropped it by my hand on Jan 27 not yet any bad issues.. I bought my Huawei Ascend Mate in march and faced a mayor gps problem,my phone didn't have a clue were I am. In May i've sended it in to the Huawei service centre. They did a hard reset but this didn't help at all. I've sended it back again to the service centre in July after 6 weeks I got it back. They said they replaced the motherboard, but the problem only got wors. Huawei says they can't fix the problem and I got a complete refund.

Probably some bad application : uninstall one application by one and test (see what application is constantly running in background, or when it crashes), or factory reset the phone. Try also to wipe applications cache. Good luck.

Just baught this fon for a week now.no issue for me.everything works well.playstore,maps,fb,whatsapp n everything else.battery life really good.quite heavy usage from 6am and still have 30% left before i get to sleep around 10pm.the only issue for me is the os.4.1.1.really old os.and the max we can upgrade only to 4.2.2 and still no update until now in malaysia.but its worth for its price.u want more so go for other fon with higher spec n higher price.

They are on sale for 1299rmb in China right now, a little over $200USD. One of few phones that works with TMobile/Wind 1700/2100AWS 3G. No google playstore, tried downloading from Huawei appstore but doesn't work. Brings up "play store stopped" right away. Why can't the Chinese make a phone that works with google playstore? One of the major con of this phone is the scratch prone camera lens at the back. I have the Huawei Y300 and the Samsung Galaxy Player and its camera lens at the back doesn't easily get scratched.

The sim card slot is different from the others. So you need to cut yout sim card so it can fit to the sim card slot from huawei. There's tool to cut the sim card. Try ask the store employee from huawei in your country.

Your mobile is perfectly fine. Its actually quick google search. If you long press home button, google search appears. You need to drag home to top (where google is written )and you goto google search. You need to press home only once and quick for home button to respond. Only if you long press google search appears. Its a default function in Ascend mate. ( i am using huawei ascend mate for last 6 months )

I have a strange problem with my Ascend Mate. Three circles appear, randomly, from below the home button with google written in the top circle. After a while, the home, return and recent applications buttons will not work in portrait mode. It works in landscape mode. Factory reset did not solve it. I have been using this phone for a year now, since May 2013. The phone is perfect in every way except if you are going to use it in hot sunny environments. When i open the GPS and #G Data together to look up maps while i'm out the batter starts heating up tremendously and in half an hour it just shuts itself down and reboots and keeps rebooting till i close it completely and leave it to cool down for an hour or so. Yesterday after i charged it fully i opened the Data to access Facebook and the battery started swelling again, it rebooted 5 times simultaneously, then finally shut down and wont power up again! Have to take it to service.

Hai i have installed the 4.2.2 andriod ver yesterday. The installation take only 15 to 20 mints. After i install i found the phone brightness is slightly down. Because when i use 4.1.2 ver i put off the brightness. It was enough for me. Now i have to turn on the brightness always. I can't find the air share opition and developer opition. Also i can't find the touch indicator button. Battery consumption is ok. Battery is not drain. Only 3 themes in 4.2.2. The browsing speed is not any different. Let us see by coming days. If i found anything different, i will share with HAM Mob people. Thanks.

Bought this Ascend Mate not long ago with some doubts on its overall performance, after all, I wouldn't expect a Chinese manufacturer to come up with top notch quality and performance like many would expect too. Well, could be my low expectations, I was actually surprise after using it for a week, could be my unit, could be that I'm lucky, I didn't encounter any problems at all, in fact, I am quite happy with the battery performance, screen clarity even though it is supposedly 720p display but this thing is sharp. Since I change phone quite fast, I usually keep a 1080p full hd video with me in the microsd so each and every new phone that I use, I'll compare the quality of the screens. Ascend Mate passed with flying colors. Speaker quality is quite good too, losing out to my HTC One and Butterfly S Boomsound but definitely above average, better than my previous Sony Z1. Must say, overall it is a value buy for me as I bought it around USD 240 off contract so it doesn't matter if it loses out to the top tier phones as the price I bought it was not top tier either.

I bought a 1gb version of this handset. Build quality is good, handset feels solid and its size makes smaller phones seem laughable. Fits in the pocket (just!) when in a case. However the phone is agonizingly slow - there's usually just 100-200mb of RAm available. Posting on web forums becomes a nightmare if you make long posts and the handset gets confused, printing numbers up instead of letters as the keyboard lags far behind the user. Got rid of it for a HTC One which considerably outperforms the Huawei Mate in almost every area, with only the voulme being worse; the Huawei is very loud, so you can enjoy videos on its huge screen even in a fairly noisy environment. I would definitely advise someone into music/videos to get a HTC One Max instead, or if you want a general purpose phone get a Sony Z Ultra, Galaxy Note 3 or Nokia 1520. They're more expensive, but still represent considerably better value for money, and they won't frustrate you to tears.

Change your default storage to SD card, it will then ask to reboot the phone. All Settings>Storage>Default Storage Location You can then use the SD card. I had the same issue last week.

im from Philippines.. well gps is working great here... base on my experience b907 is almost stable as b221 if not the same... battery still great. more smooth when it comes to HD games... just download b907 from russian site. unzip it . then put it on root sdcard dir. create "dload" folder & paste the image inside.. udpate it trough local update.. make sure your battery is full... good luck!

I am using this from Nov 2012 to day No any issues yet. good phone,but taking photo es and video its not conformable because big/weight and heating. but other not bad.i am using it for much photo videos. video super photo not best because only 8 mp. it should b 12 o6 16 mp for good photo quilt y. zoom not bad. i am not use internet, once used it for Facebook mobile upload. speed good ,but i am using my computer for internet, using only for notes/photo video and call. not gaming other i am using it very care so to day have not any issuses....my phone has life time than other user..i am using it softly and carefuuly.. i am not job guy or bussnessman. Hi. I brought this phone Sim Free. I'm from the UK. I have to say, I really loved this phone, it's look & features. It is basically a Chinese version of a samsung galaxy note, but bigger!! Unfortunately, there is a massive problem with the phones GPS. It's very inaccurate & most of the time when using 3G, it does not work. I use many GPS apps like Golfshot and on the course it just couldn't find my location and was stuck 2 miles away. Everything else about the phone was great. Even at 6.1", it still feels fine in one hand and doesn't look silly when making a call.

GPS is not working properly, so many errors can't tell them all here everytime with different errors the worst is it can't find ant satellites! I tried all professional applications including Oruxmaps also google maps, google tracks... GPS never worked properly. (then dont scold to batery) read i went to the zoo and i took so many pics and videos a long from 8.44am to 4.04 pm. Finaly i couldnt shot sea lion show and elephant show videos soo sad.before go there ,i fully charged it 100%. wat reason i took 26 videos and 133 pics. no call, other uses.its normal but sometimes i never use it and battery save for 2 to 4 days.its good.but its normal... using cam vid its getting hot/bit stuck its normal and restarting..freshing.. basically i am using only cam /vid /calls. low internet using and currenly no probs..... i am telling u all its very pretty bit weight big phone. i am fat and tall so its friendly to me.. p6 is very beautifully like i phone. but not rough like other high end phone,its charm fair simple..i like very much huawei emotion UI and OS. Hi, you can not update OS to 4.2.2. from the phone menu. This has to be performed by an Authorized Service Center or the brand directly. Try to ask who is Huawei representative in Malasya. What you can upgrade/update directly from the phone menu is the Software Version. Merry Christmas!

b907 is excellent, am using this firmware. with playstore preinstalled. yeah it's 4.2.2 version and has preference for english and other languages during initial start up. just edit the build props to activate the nav bar hide button. just click the kernel version several times to permanently show the developer mode options in the settings menu.

Currently now when posting this comment, battery is 27% and already unplugged it for 31hrs.. Everything running smoothly due to the processor.. In Malaysia, huawei brand is under Sony warranty which is quite cool..!!

Dear All, I am from India and I have 2 GB version (4.1.2 non rooted) bought in Oct 2013 from flipkart, India. I used iphone 4 for almost 3.5 years before this (Jailbroken 4 times with updates from iOS 4 to iOS 6.1.2) and i wanted to try android with larger screen size with budget upto 25K and decent specs. I checked following phones -Samsung galaxy note 2 and Mega 6.3 -LG optimus G and G Pro -Asus fonepad note FHD6 -Lenevo K900 and finally Huawei Ascend Mate. and after so much of research and analysis, I am really happy with my choice. Would like to Share my experience along with some of the Great Pros and very minor Cons here. First, Cons - I will write what I had felt, for some users it may be a deal breaker. for eg 1) No App drawer - no issues, use Go launcher or any other 100s of launcher available in play store 2) no home screen rotation - i dont need it anyway 3) Cant mute notification without muting phonecall ring - like BB, i want to put phone on only ringtones without notification sound at night, but sorry it cant do that. Either whole phone silent / vibration mode or both ringtone/notification sound on same volume 4) very few times, screen did not showed up after pressing lock/unlock button - dont know, may be due to the phone cover 5) not much of varities available for phone flip cover, had to buy only available premium leather flip cover ( cost 1500 INR ) 6) No user battery replacement - not needed anyway 7) Mediocre Camera performance - Although 8 MP rear camera, i feel picture quality is not that good. I use my nikon camera for special occasion anyway. 8) Cant turnoff vibration on lock screen for some of the preinstalled themes. - not a problem actually. 9) Only 'Hindi' language font pack available in the phone and not regional fonts, i miss my region's language feeds on facebook and whatsapp messages - can install the same once the phone is rooted 10) No KitKat update yet - also no news announced for the same. Now ready for Great Great Great Pros, 1) Build - premium quality build, doesnt looks cheap like samsungy plasticy body, Looks amazingly good, people kept asking about the phone model when i was yet to buy cover. 2) Sheer Behemoth size and Display - 6.1 inch Gorgeous IPS HD display ( would have loved full HD though ), with corning gorilla glass. Screen is amzingly clear and bright. Didnt have to use full brightness yet. if you try during the night, you might as well go blind. Touch response is immediate and smooth. This one has got highest display to phone body ratio, (since it has not hard menu buttons like samsung, htc etc), so despite 6.1 inch size it would not feel like burden in jeans/shirt pocket. 3) Swap internal memory with External SD card - YES, its got only 8 GB internal memeory, 4 GB used for OS, while only 4 GB is available to you. But dont worry, I installed 32 GB external micro SD card and Swapped default memory location from setting, thats it. Now i have 32 GB internal memory and 4 GB external memory I have now installed many HD games with GBs of SD data, I have now only 10 GB space left. Since it support 64 GB card also, I might buy the same. 4) RAM / Processor - 2GB RAM with 1.5Ghz quad core intel processor, 16 Core vivente GC 4000 GPU, its smoother than ever. No lag whatsoever in any of the apps or games. I have installed Six Guns, Real Racing 3, Asphalt 7, Asphalt 8 (although playstore says asphalt 8 is not compatible with this phone, you can still download it via PC), etc and many other TP games, for my kid i installed angry birds, subway surfer etc. There is no lag whatsoever in any of these games, they works flawlessly. 5) Video - can play 1080p videos without any legs or hiccups. It can record also full hd vidoes 6) huge 4050 mAH battery - Last almost 2 days with moderate use. with heavy use like playing 3D games for about 2 hours with constant use of Whatsapp, email etc it still lasts 1 full day, and takes only 1 and half hour for full charge from 5% battery. 7) Sound - Its got dolby surround sound speaker, so audio quality is simply phonomenal, also very good ergonomic headsets with decent sound quality 8) Data transfer - downloaded 1GB 'Six Guns' in one hour on 3G ( i have vodafone 5 GB pack), also normal browsing, whatsapp etc dataspeed is good. Wifi Direct works with whooping speed of 10 MB/s. 9) Preinsalled google play store and few themes along with few useful apps and bloatwares 10) It says it has 'glove mode' ( can use while wearing gloves ) - hvnt used it yet since not necessary in India. 11) Hide / unhide menu button option - very useful, so that you can use full screen for games and apps, it works with all the apps/games and also on home screen. 12) No other problems in day today use, multitasking, call quality, connectivity, normal application usage, on/off and volume buttons, camera flash, keyboard inputs, settings, etc etc 13) Value for Money - bought at around 21K INR ( actual 23.5K with 10 % discount ), its the best value for money considering all the above features, The same features are offered in other phones also, but they are priced high or at same price, not same as all the above features. very nice phone but sometimes its get little stuck while using along and getting heat while playing movies camera. my new mate old is 16 days so currently its runnig very nice smooth clear and speedy. i use it only camera pics videos and calls. Also setting menu changed, emotion UI is better now. although I faced a little bit issue regarding play store, but it has solved after removing my app history. 4.2.2 is better than 4.1. hi Laruen, I bought the Ascend Mate on AliExpres for $309 (with free Singapore post shipping). It came really fast (about 1 week) and I am in Canada. It's the real deal--not a knock-off or fake. It's an amazing price. The phone is awesome. It has it's own custom UI though so there is no favorites bar at the bottom and there is no 'master app list' (all apps automatically appear on your desktop). Mine did not come with Google Play but it was easy to install and also very easy to root with ERoot. If you want one, I recommend you buy from "double S" on AliExpress. They shipped it very quickly and had great customer service throughout the transaction.

It is a great phone. The only issue I had with it is that the camera lens is made of plastic which is prone to scratches even when just wiping the lens. I had about 30 scratches on the lens and it drives me crazy. I just hope that they put glass on it instead of plastic. The screen some issues like screen-burn on top and Gorilla glass that after two weeks of use had two minute scratches. It would be nice if Huawei Ascend Mate 2 had Gorilla Glass 3 and sapphire glass lens or any scratch resistant glass on its camera lens. And quality control, the unit that I have had a screen burn on top.

No. Flash player will not support like as a desktop. Only you can open m.youtube.com videos. Youtube.com will not support. Don't worry. Download the HD videos from pc or laptop. Then copy to mob and play it. You save your ISP data charges.

I bought a this "amazing friend" in China on August 2013. I bought the Black one,2GB RAM version. I bought it for CNY 2200, that time it was equal to around USD 360. You know what I would say? This is the BEST phone with its best price among the similar specification. This phone really help me a lot through my busy day. With its all spec, I am 100% satisfied when watching HD videos. Although this smartphone uses internal virtual button, but it has the built-in feature that let those button to shrink. So I can watch movies or playing game with 6.1 complete FULL SCREEN. Of course Lenovo S920 or P780 have much lower price tag! Their overall spec is still lower than Huawei Ascend MATE. You will never know how impressive Huawei MATE can be if you haven't try it yourself. 1GB RAM if really not enough for the smartphone these days, and all you will got is only the annoying lag. 2GB will help you a lot. :) I would say this phone is really a powerful contender. :)

I live in Australia, I think I have the Chinese version. Updated a couple days ago, its horrible! Althought the interface is a nice change, but my Phone keeps freezing and turning off, I don't get messages or sometimes just the notifications until I restart the phone (although I restart lots because it freezes) and I don't get notifications from other apps. Good. I purchased the phone 20 days back. I am using the phone in many options. Sound guality & Video quality is very superior. Gameing experience is also very good with HD display & 6.1 Big screen. VOIP calling quality is average. Only camera quality is slightly dark, grainy & blurry in indoor shooting. But outdoor shooting is good. Front camera is very good.While continuous use, slightly getting warm. Still now the phone is working good. It support 1TB Ext HDD via OTG cable. My collegues also planned to buy this mobile, after he seen the performance.

the update of 4.2.2 is not released for ASCEND MATE MT1-U06 ie. International Version but is released for Ascend Mate MT01-T00 ie.Chinese Version as per sources ASCEND MATE MT1-U06 International Version will get 4.2.2 bye not earlier than December 2013 end.

HAi Guys, I would like to share my experience with this nice device Huawei Ascend Mate. When I planned to buy a smartphone, I found this device is better and cheap for me. Because I studied the review in GSMARENA, the specfication and result is showing very good.(Thanks GSMAREANA Team) So I purchesed this phone last week from saudi arabia. It is very nice device,HD video shooting and photo clearity is fantastic. 1.5 QUAD core with 2GB RAM deliver fast speed, while surfing in internet. HD IPS display & Corning Gorilla Glass is the better result for viewing. Big Screen 6.1 is very good. It will go only your pant pocket, but comfortable, because of solid body construction. The shape of the mobile is looking awesome. out side of the frame is provided with metal.What else. I found the mobile is supporting the External Hard Disc Drive 1 TB. When i try to connect the HDD via OTG cable, it is read all the data with in a mint. After I opened the full HD video via BS player it is running as very smooth and no struck. seek the movie forward and backward, it is running very smooth. Even 10GB single bluray movie files are working very good. I didn't expect this one. I cancelled to buy a Laptop because this device is a laptop. Now I am very happy and proud with this device. The one of the BAD Experience is the mobile case issue. I couldn't found in market even a big mobile shop. Around 25 mobile shops I enquired. But not available. So I had to purchase samsung mega 6.3 cover and alter for suitable port like speaker, camera flash, MIC and headphone. So if you planned to purchase the mobile, buy the case immediatley.

Yes OTA updates are available for the phone in India. Just go to mgmt folder and check for update online. You must be connected to wifi to download sine updates are rather large.

Some Unknown Facts about HUAWEI ASCEND MATE :- 1) It supports microsd card till 64 GB (as also on official website Specs INDIA) and not 32 GB as said by most website & currently i am using 64 GB class 10 Strontium card. 2) u can install apps in microsd card also 3) U dont need to buy screen guard along with this handset as it is preinstalled just dont peel or remove it it,cut slight right at top which u see when u recieve a new handest. 4) u can charge other peoples cell phone using OTG cable from ASCEND MATE just like LENOVE P780. 5) it supports USB 3.0 Pendrives which other handsets doesnt support and says power consumption error except few handsets Above Rs.35,000 supports. 6) It has Glove mode which helps u use it even with wearing gloves on hand- the technology is called magic touch technology. 7) In Ascend Mate, there is also a feature which can be used to change wallpaper by shaking the phone. 8) On the home screen of the Ascend there is also Suspend Button, which will give you a shortcut dial to access calculator, gallery, messages and notes. 9) Supports USB STORAGE MODE . 10) i dont know if many people knows it that there is promised update for 4.2.

I've been using this for several months now...its still doing good and has a very good battery life.. don't blame the phone when you have your signals drop...blame it on your network provider.. I love the dolby surround sound.. one thing I would comment on this, is the lack of accessories to be bought unlike s3 s4s and I phones.. but it really does great performance.. one tip is for users... choose applications wisely..it may damage the softwares of your phone

I got this phone for two weeks. The battery of the phone is very good. From 8 AM to 6 PM my phone still has 90% battery left after several calls. It can easily last for 3 days. It is amazing as a large screen android phone. Highly recommended.

had this for a few months. 8/10 size is excellent. it DOES fit in all but the tightest of pockets. battery is excellent. i get a whole weekend with wifi on the whole time. camera pretty good. Huawei emotion UI version of android has some lame parts, but is workable. Apps individually run fine. just opening them takes 2 seconds longer, which i can live with. RAM: there are 2 models 1GB and 2GB. I have the 1GB model, which works well almost all the time. Just means I wait for 2-3 seconds switching between big apps - but its a few hundred $$ cheaper than comparable sizes with higher RAM. bigger than note. cheaper than anything near it. Great display. Good sound. sometimes a bit slow. These things said, Asus fonepad looks even better (on the tablet side of the tablet-phone spectrum.)

i just inquired for it on pcexpress(manila) and whats written on their record, it only has 1GB of RAM with 8GB Storage capacity(internal) micro SD expansion slot up to 32gb. i havent confirmed yet if it really was 1GB ram only. im paying that its only a typo error. will definitely get one of this it its 2GB ram. else, ill just wait for the Nexus 7 2nd gen with LTE. :)

Had this phone for 2 weeks now from Harvey Norman Australia. (1GB ram + NFC version). My first one had issue with GPS, went back for a replacement, and second one has been working well so far. 1gb ram was always low in supply, but the phone runs smooth 95% of the time, and it has not been a major issue. Sound quality was not as analytic as my previous S3, but Dolby surround sound does give a good but different experience. Performance wise, it felt faster than my previous S3, possibly because my S3 was almost always in battery saving mode. This phone has a battery large enough without needing much thought about conservation. I can use it heavily for whole day with ample left at dinner time. A light user can easily find it sufficient for 2 days use. As I have a large built, I find the phone at upper limit of pocketability at first, but quickly got used to it only after a couple week of use. One hand usage would be challenging, and I found impossible to use it while I am driving (which I'm not supposed to, haha)

I can keep live wallpapers and any number of widgets without the worry of the battery loss or slow performance. I fell inlove with this device when I saw it earlier today. I got a chance to play with it and I must say that Huawei really did a great job on this one! Right now I am still eyeing on the Optimus G2 of LG or the Honami phone from Sony but if Huawei will step up in the game like using the best chipset and if they'll start making a phone with a 1080p resolution then I am in considering that they really got a nice price tag on their devices. Like somebody told over here, the screens on the other phones are smal. It's not always simple to put the mate in your pocket, but at least the sreen is very good, the battery is very good. It doesn't get to warm when you use it for a long time. Camera and speed are also good. I just need 4G on it but it's great...

Before this im using the Ascend P1 at that phone is just pure awesome. But after several month, i trade in that phone for Lenovo S890 just because it has bigger screen 5". Then, i start miss my emotion UI 1.5, but i dont want to go back for the P1 4.3" screen. After a while, this beast show up, bigger gigantic screen with emotion UI 1.5. Im totaly gonna buy this via Aliexpress.

Laggy.....K3V2 is a huawei home grown processor...good at number crunching but really bad at performing complex and 3D tasks. Think thrice before you open your wallet for this phone. Dusappoint is guaranteed.

It works with 64gb sd cards formatted in NTFS not exFAT. Camera is horrible. The worst I've seen in years, it's murky and dark. Battery is good if you are not using the phone, when screen is off. But when it's on, it consumes like a beast. Note as good as note for battery during use. Perhaps with updates they can address this. I'm on ...116 ver. Also would like to mention that this is a 2gb of ram phone. Not 1gb.

i bought the ascend mate about a week ago,, i love it,, everyone who sees it thinks it is a tablet, i can easily hold it with one hand and type on keyboard.. the camera is great., the battery lasts a long time, after 12 hrs, it will be at 50 percent,, I bought it from ALIexpress, if anyone needs more info let me know , [email protected]

JinSeul Kim, Samsung doesn't consider 6.5in their biggest phablet. You are wrong on the size. They have been making bigger phablet since 2010. They have 7in, 7.7, 8, 10.1 phablet , and are all available in the market right now. To me, a phablet are those with sim and can make calls. You may not agree me, but I am okay. I've used them all.

insider info from Huawei supplier/vendor: Ascend Mate 2 will be revealed this coming September, the confirmed specs are 13mp camera (sensor by Sony), FHD screen (join-develop with Sharp), enhanced UI (slightly different from current Emotion UI), eye movement sensor (obviously influenced by Samsung), Ultra Li-ion battery rated at 6500mah (part of cooperation with Matsushita and Sanyo), internal memory, RAM and processing chipset will be in-house production.

Will this device be water/dust resistant? I'm getting mixed messages from different sites. Some claim that it is, but they might be mixing it up with the ascend d2 that was announced with it. Also, does it have NFC? Not a deal breaker for me but if it has water/dust resistance and magic touch it's for sure my next device.

You have enlighten me sir. we won't be able to see the difference 1080p makes on a 5" screen. More pixels means more drain. Just like other figures having a 441 ppi is nothing but marketing gimmicks.

Why is everyone on here harking on about 1080p resolution, for god's sake you don't need it. Huawei have been sensible here, they have the right combination of big screen and the correct resolution together with excellent display in the form IPS+ lcd. None of you understand that you are not going to achieve anything by having a 1080p resoltion, it's so silly, all this will do is drain the battery alot quicker. 1080p should be left to the 7" tablets and above, nothing below, look at monitors, nothing under 20" is full hd and they use the same technology as on these smartphones. All you need to make sure is that the display is clear and viewing angles are good and this IPS+ will do both very well. Please don't waste your money on these stupid 5" 1080p smartphones you will regret it later when you end up recharging it 3 times a day.

Do you really use smart phone or notebook before? full HD means more dot per inch. as currently market the DVD not enough dot , so video quality is so blur , no ppl even will satisfy TV program with FUll HD TV , becuase the image all so blur. basically 800x600 image will sharp than 1920x 1080 if quality of LCD is same.

As soon as this phablet hits my town, I am going to buy it. Huawei, I'll be waiting. To some people it's big, to me it's just ordinary coz right now I am using Galaxy tab 7.7 as my phablet. I was hoping for IPAD Mini as my phablet, but very sad, IPAD Mini couldn't make phone call. Don't worry guys. I won't put this phablet in my poket. Everything is perfect, except very low resolution! It might not sharp at all when we watch movie or view picture. It's touch screen is very sensitive even when you wear glove.
