Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 - User Reviews

  • To work as a phone I tried it...

  • Are you sure the MediaPad M6 LTE 8.4 inch allows to make and receive phone calls? And it also allows to send and receive SMS? There seems no one who says the LTE has this functionality. Can someone who actually has the LTE version confirm this?

  • On the alternatives: I can currently hardly use my two pieces M6 (10"). I'm expecting two Mi Pad 4 Plus (by Xiaomi). I have one already, and I love its responsiveness. However, no stylus, merely Full HD, in the Global edition no OTA updates.

  • The Mediapad M6 can be used with (at least) Huawei's M-Pen Lite. I have not yet been able to see if this combination has pressure sensitivity. (I hope so, I think so. I can't download my purchased and relevant apps from the Play Store. :-(

  • swede1961, if you posted a link, it may well have been filtered out by the comments software used on this website. Could you please try again, and maybe omit every character of it up to and including the two forward slashes? (Or whatever trick that helps the link make it to my screen...) Thanks in advance!

  • Follow this link and problem with google play is solved. Worked perfect on chines mediapad M6.

  • Is there going to be stylus support?

  • As I said no Google play store...no workaround available so far. I have installed apps from other play store alternatives.. Most of them work but some don't without the Google play store... So can't use them. Chrome, WhatsApp, Facebook, Yahoo Mail, Wynk music work. You tube and some others works only through Browser.

  • Side-Mounted fingerprint ? just like Honor 9x

  • thanks for your reply. If i can't install google play, does it mean i have to ask my local pirate to install a "workaround" to get the apps? I think its too bad that the M6 doesn't have Google Play. The specs are so good. I think unless something changes, most people would just get the Samsung Tab S6.

  • No google play store....cannot install also...

  • It depends on which model you get. If you get the 4G LTE version, then yes,...you can text & make calls

  • Can the new M6 8.4 make cellular calls and send text messages like the M5 8.4?

  • You can always opt for an adaptor, problem solved. It is not a big issue.

  • Then go for 10.4!

  • The Mediapad M6 8.4 does not have a 3.5mm or a fingerprint sensor, while the 10.4 does.

  • Talking out of experience, I found Bluetooth ear buds sound quality better that the wired headsets. So for me I don't give a damn for the 3.5mm jack. Wireless is a lot better and with freedom to move around away from the phone listening to my favorite internet FM radio while the phone is charging, tide on the wall charger. LOL!

  • Many people use? who told you? And besides, there are lots of 2 in 1 adapter(USB type C to 3.5mm and USB type C) available in the market. Means you can still use 3.5mm headphones while charging your phone. So what is the issue?

  • "standard"? Not for long, we are now in a wireless age and you have no choice but to accept the omission of the useless jack whether you like it or not. You cannot stop it whatever you do.

  • Hi, Does the M6 MediaPad come with Google Play pre-installed? I heard that it doesn't from a friend. Does anyone know?

  • unlike removable battery the headphone jack is a standard across devices which many people use

  • imagine quoting thanos

  • Truly! It's like the removable phone battery from the old days. Many users refuse and look what happened now. LOL!

  • Anyone can verify on screen fingerprint?

  • We already moving on wireless entirely, look how manufactures removing audio jack, even Samsung Note 10 does. I agree there are some people still refuse it but just like Thanos said, "As long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those, that are unable to accept what can be. They will resist" People that still demand audio jack, "Yep we're kind of stubborn". Well I don't blame them, I was them until last year but we gotta move on, wireless is the future.

  • Good. So no need for headphone jack. Use Bluetooth speakers or ear buds, they have better sound quality than wired.

  • Then why Wifi still exist if theres already data plan? You're way of thinking is funny. Both Wifi and Data are important. Yes its your money you can buy all gigabytes you want, but what about others? End users most of the time will connect to a wifi at home/office simply to save data + battery saving.

  • It is already solved, so no worry with Bluetooth ear buds while connected to WiFi.

  • At home? What is the use of 3.5mm at home. Duh! The same thing you will not use Bluetooth at home for listening to music or whatever since you have your stereo sound system. Why? Can't afford a good sound system at home?

  • lol that's not how it works mate. Data plan is limited. When it spent you cant do anything youll have to buy them again, its a waste of money. It meant for outdoor use, while wifi is almost everywhere, home, office, cafe, and wifi is unlimited. So yeah wifi is very important feature.

  • Then don't use the WiFi, use data SIM. Why? Can't afford data subscription?

  • Pretty essential to know if they fixed the problem from m5: When using wifi and bluetooth at the same time, wifi slows waaay down because they use the same antenna. This is why you would want a headphone jack to avoid this issue.

  • When come in Pakistan?

  • No need for headphone jack, it has stereo loud speaker with Harman Kardon sound. Use loud speaker. LOL!

  • Yes

  • Someone said it has on screen fingerprint sensor. Is that there?

  • Need fingerprint for security login

  • I'm sure it is a flat panel

  • Were coming to Singapore?

  • Really? For what? LOL!

  • When is the Mediapad M6 coming to the UK

  • No fingerprint? really?

  • Can someone please test Arena of Valor on this phone? i kinda need gaming tablet and so far this is the only one that fits

  • U can sms and call using LTE version.. but no earpiece means u have to either use earphone or through phone speaker itself..

  • You don't want to carry a small dongle but you like to carry messy headset wires. LOL! Sounds ironic...

  • Does it allow to make phone calls and send sms ?

  • On the contrary wired headset sounds like crap and will not give you freedom to move around while it is charging.

  • Therefore you like bondage from your tablet. There are lots of Bluetooth ear buds with good quality and better than the messy wired headset that keeps you tied to your gadgets while it is charging. LOL!

  • I would like to know that as well.

  • Because Bluetooth sounds like crap and I don't want to carry a dongle and/or want to charge my tablet while listening.

  • Does the Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 inch LTE allows to make phone calls and send/receive SMS in Australia?

  • Why do you need head phone jack?

  • When arriving to market in Finland? Can I buy it via you in net?

  • Why do you need 3.5mm jack?

  • In response to a previous question, band 28 (700mhz) works with Telstra and Optus in Australia. I will be interested to see one of these. I have an M3 8.4 that I really like - it is great for all usual tablet functions plus book reading and movie watching. Excellent size to travel with. I avaoided the M5 as they put a curved screen on it (so no ability to install tempered glass) and they deleted the head phone jack. It seems that this one still has no head phone jack on the 8.4, but no mention is made of whether it has returned to a flat panel. They are really great machines in general with long battery life and zippy performance. They are the logical replacement for the original Samsung S 8.4 as nothing else ever replaced it

  • He just invented that band.

  • REALLY wish they opted for OLED screen. Its the only drawback of the M5.

  • What company uses that band please?

  • no support LTE band 28 (700) - no buy

  • nope which is dumb, makes using apps with finger print a pain now

  • Oh well with 5G no problem with high quality media.

  • and still essential to have HDMI output to avoid micro-stuttering . wireless bandwidth is not good enough for high quality media.

  • Come on! Still using cables? We have smart TVs and wireless mirroring technology.

  • Biggest question. Is it capable for HDMI output via USB-C? If it is the same castrated usb-c as in M5 series then sorry I will look elsewhere

  • Hey if you feel like being part of the 99% that don't know they supposedly bought something but gets dictated what they can and can't do on it, significantly reducing its functionality, go right ahead.

  • I think you are blind since this looks nothing like the iPun or the iPleb devices you compared it to... O3O

  • The 1% that actually bothers doing this? LMAO the companies actions and sales are decided by the 99%! ;D

  • 3.5mm for what?

  • Ignorant! USB type C can be use for headphone. You just need to use a USB type C to 3.5mm adaptor and it comes with the package out of the box.

  • Locked BLs were already a good reason to avoid them like an Apple plague

  • And Apple copied Microsoft tablet (2002)

  • acopy of iphone ipad so funny

  • Wonderful prince on high specs. the is the fastest pad in the market now.

  • Is stylus support confirmed for the 8.4" version?

  • Samsung s5e, mid range tablet has 6gb version... Huawei 2019 flagship tablet, touting enhanced split screen/multitasking capabilities, can perform with only 4gb?

  • Does this not have fingerprint sensor anymore ?

  • it's perfect size but 3.5 mm jack must needed

  • Lol im sure Huawei dont care what u do and u act like a spoiled kid hahahaha. Try read this u wrote again, cant u see it... Really

  • LOL no 3.5mm jack on a tablet. That's it, i'm adding Huawei to my black list and never gonna be interested in their product ever again, i'll treat them as an Apple product...
