  • To upgrade go to the google the 4.0.3 update and download. It is about 355mb. Simply follow the instructions and install. I'm using ics now and so far so good. Only problems are that the phone heats up now and the battery runs down faster than with the 2.3.5.

  • I had the same problem with my U8800 about a year ago. After unsuccessfully following several of their recommendations including a factory restore (what a hassle), they agreed to send me a new SIM card. That did the trick. Fast forward to the present...the same problem is recurring. Interestingly my wife has the identical phone and she's not having any problems. So I have to think the problems is either organic to my phone or possibly due to an app.

  • very good phone... can be used with any android OS from 2.2 to 4.3 u can upgrade this phone unofficially, it has its own xda page you can get all you want for this device. although huawei doesn't support this it works very good.

  • Purchased this phone in bangalore, for it's competitive price. And repenting since. Android is great, but phone is terrible. Since the time i bought, unable to talk to anyone for over a minute. Calls gets cut every few seconds. It's not problem with network, but with phone. I put the sim in my other phone (nokia C7) and call works just fine. Now I know why we should stick to brand (anyone, like nokia, samsung LG�) Don't get lured by it's price. You'll repent when you can't use it to make calls.

  • Hy!You can check the actual Huawei ROMs here: Just choose "smartphones" and than U8800 pro. Please note that the last release of ICS (b928) has some bugs. Thats why it's "unofficial". I hope that the bugfree & official version will coming soon. :) If you need some additional information about the upgrade method just check this site: I hope that this post has enough information for you. ;)

  • well, I've upgraded to ICS and I am satisfied with a new user interface and usability features. On the other side, I am not a gamer, so can't compare how it performs in high cpu usage applications. For basic usage (communicating/web browsing/picture taking) it works perfectly

  • Great phone. Have it for one year and really enjoyed it. Browsimg is very good. Video is good, but photo is far from 5mp specs. Except that it is honest and nice made.

  • This phone is very unpolished, the software is quite/very buggy. Many people on forums write about random reboots, missed calls, and other glitchy behaviour. I'm very dissapointed by the inability or lack of desire from Huawei to fix the software bags. If my Mediapad makes me happy then this phone on the other hand makes me hate Huawei. Huawai - get your act together and fix it, or you will loose a lot of customers!!

  • Just updated ICS 4.0.3 and its working smooth with default launcher. for the price its not that bad, very good resolution could ve been better if the screen aspect ration would be HD.

  • Huawei has released the B927 version ICS in which they have fixed some bugs present in B926.It looks pretty ok. I faced one random reboot in a day.Other than that all features are working fine

  • Definitely the phone you want to buy, unless u want to wait for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. or go for the high end (high budget) phones. no issues regarding reception. As good as Nokia sets (I have reason for that comparison). and no lags no problems. one thing, the video volumes are a bit low...i think.

  • Sorry. Thought you meant internett connection. When it comes to call quality, i have nothing bad to say. Never lost connection, never had problems, clear sound. But i do have to say that the speaker is high and clear when it rings but when you talk the volume is a little lower. But it will only be a problem if you are at a loud party or something like that.

  • Internet works great! The connection errors and all that is bullshit or mabye some issues with software, which has been fixed. But the phone is not the fastest on the Internet. but for this price it is better than avrage.

  • finally i found how to fix wifi and bluetooth... when i updated my phone from huawei website to 2.3.5 vesion my wifi and bluetooth stoped working becouse that its bad version for u8800 pro i found this one and now my phone working fine!!! u need to copy stp1 (UPDATE.APP) to dload folder and step2 (UPDATE_g.APP) rename like this. i hope it helps for seomeon too. srr for bad english

  • In Greece you can get it 185 euros kmetek ;) I wan to point that it is not 2.3 Gingerbread but 2.2.2 (the deviced sold after december will have the 2.3) so you should write 2.2 upgradable to 2.3 in specs ;) Does anyone know if this phone will get an ICS upgrade? I mean in terms of hardware do you know if thr pto can run it??

  • I had U8800 X5 and I did`t have any problems, is a very good phone for that pricev .... good camera, good gps, no problems whit the battery ... 4-5 hours on 2G or 3G in 3-4 day stand-by. I want to buy the U8800 PRO ... better processor (sorry for my english)
