i used this fone once,, i helped a friend to send/recieve files via bluetooth and configure wifi. a bit annoying bec it uses windows. where i used to nokias(symbian) but of course i made it. just folow the on-screen intructions and u wont fail. and i like OS also. something different compare to other mobile OS's out there. great, even i just used it in a litle time.

I have a Imate 810f blocked (or bricked) in the main screen I use the softreset button several times and return still blocked, due this I cannot access the clearstore function, Some body know how can be done a hard reset by another way? like with some buttons combination?. actually you must avoid putting your i-mate 810-F on hot places. that makes your keypad sticky, cause i have one phone that same as yours, try to avoid putting your phone on a hot places cause its a sensitive phone..

I bought an i-mate 8502 just a few months before they went under. There was a major hardware failure and the authorized repair center told me I needed a new main board. My i-mate was in the USA repair center for almost two months waiting for the part when I was informed that i-mate went under and there would be no hope for me. I paid like $700 USD for this piece of junk and chose it over an HTC because the i-mate came with the 2 year warranty...don't make my mistake!!!! Stay away!!!!!!!

This is not just about 810F, but the company as a whole, the official website is down, the service center is no more open, and the owners at least in India are forced to get the handset serviced from local service centers that too without any surety on the quality. They should have atleast maintained the website so that customers could have got some kind of rom updates or genuine softwares. I do think that it really was a Bad Decision to go for an IMATE !!!!

I think imate phones are great, I have had other phones that cost me a pretty penny but Imate, Nokia, BB and Motorola1 has never let me down.I think HTC and Imate made a big mistake by parting ways...right now HTC has won the battle but HTC will be another imate...greed kills great things. i have red about how bad the imate 810f was. but i think that it is the world most toughest phone. because i tested it in singapore. i tested it by throwing it around the house, texting or emailing in the swimming pool or while even bathing. but it can go down in water up to 3 feet and stal in there as long as 30 min. i tested it and i think it is a good value to buy phone although the keypad is a little stiff. so if you want a waterproof phone , get an i mate 810 f.

i-mate is on compulsory leave for 2 months w/o pay- send them an email and they will inform you.They are re-branding to another stupid name - JUMA. I think any PDA that comes out and looks downsyndrome-y must be from them. For your own sake PLEASE DONT BUY THIS.

iMate used to be a very good brand. 5 years ago it is competing head-on with most phone brands specially in the Middle East. It is a pity that it is closing. How can you buy a phone knowing that you wont get any support. Worst, thinking how iMate employees was treated by the owner. This phone will never come out. Imate is in total debt because of Jim Morrison's inability to manage the company (Plus his womanizing habit). Imate will declare bankruptcy on the 10th of September and will likely be desolved. So if you got this product, good luck because you wont be getting any support.

I own an 810-F and it's a great product. It needs some upgrades on win. mobile but for a ruggedized phone with life time warranty it's a great experience

...umm let me see, 810F is lacking of card slot and that's one important thing i considered. 810F body built is superior. i've been using an i-mate JAM for 6 yrs. now (out modelled, but maximized and too efficient) it never let me down though my stylus shaft corroded into bronze and my battery have been replaced once only...it was fell many times, dented alluminum casing, screen and casing had been scratched (can you imagine that?), but this model seems tough, gets going and too alive. i've been using applications quite well downloaded in my phone, watching live news thru GPRS bec. of no wi-fi, emailing, IM's, are exellent, this old phone of mine have 1.3 MP Cam, mobile fax, and sketch pad on it that was used many times too. the windows of my mobile cannot as competent w/ windows 6.0 or 6.1 nowadays. Hm, the easily removable memory card in my i-mate jam is so functional (easily removed can easily inserted in laptop's card reader and many of my techy stuffs). Ok, too much exaggeration on my old stuff and well, maybe it's time now to replace an old phone to a new one. ...imagine tough 810F, Wi-Fi, and exellent Marvel processor....oh geez! Must have phone for a tough, adventurous guy who never failed establishing good communications w/ friends, families and love ones.. can anyone out there mind posting the price of this phone on this site? thanks in advance!

I am not too familiar with i-mate or their products but this phone is truly amazing when it comes to practicality and durability for Industrial and Commercial use. The design is subjected to personal preferences but again, where can you find a WinMo device with both a Touchscreen, a full Qwerty and in non-slide candy bar form factor? As for those who complained as to why the screen isn't offered at a higher resolution, camera modules of 2Megapixels, I believe they are looking at offering the basic specification for industrial use, rather than having a far-fetch thought that by equipping it with a bigger screen and better camera they can dethrone Blackberry Storm and IPhone from the best touchscreen PDA Phone. The offering of Lifetime warranty comes with a fine print that you need to be sure what's it truly about. But I can see that they tend to work out on the warranty faster this time around as there'll be a no frills, no question asked 1 to 1 exchange. This will save them more on the cost and turnaround time. They can even produce in excess to get a better economic of scale. This device will give devices such Motorola, Symbol and Zebra a run for the money. Take a look at Casio G'Zone and Sony-Ericcson "shark-fin" phone! They are element proof but not crush resistance like the 810F. Give this guy a chance and see if iMate can find niche in their product range and tap from the unexplored market.

I am still using the Imate JasJam. So have needed tech support when i first purchased it and never a problem. What stuffed Imate up is that HTC stopped making their products and they had to find another maker.Before that they were in top of the world. I would support them because they are still trying and haven't given up. They lost a few valuable years. But they have tried to reposition themselves with something that no one else is doing and that is waterprrof, dustproof, shock proof windows operating system which is great. So give them credit for fighting and still trying to hang in there.

i agee with previous writers regarding i-mates technical support. be warned - it is almost non existant. best to look elsewhere for any phone products. try HTC or apple for starters. you will be much better off.

Finaly a pda/phone strong enough to survive daily use of an active person. Put it in your jeans without a protection case and no worries when the kid plays a little rough with you when you're just home from work (lost a smartphone once that way). And yes.... to comply to the 810-f standard the parts in this phone are selected on toughness and this means not the most hi res display, camera etc. When this comes to market I'm defenately going to buy it.

i-mate's done... end of story. I see 2 flaws with "life-time" guarantee: 1. No one is going to have this phone for life like all fast-paced tech. Anyway, I wouldn't even own it for 5 minutes. 2. Even if you wanted to own it for life i-mate is JUST about bankrupt and once they claim it, say "goodbye" to the guarantee.
