first open the back cover, then use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws holding the phone to front cover... i forgot the rest. hope this helps. :)

I know of someone who dropped their j210i in water and it still worked. How long was yours in the water? The joystick on mine was able to be pushed to the point that it looked as though it might just fall out. Bit dodgey after a few years of use.

I have been using this fone for 1- 2 yrs. already and it is quite handy. the drawbacks are its joystick, internet, and connectivity. Mine has a glitch in its signal and it is really annoying... but still good phone. :]

I bought a second hand one, and it's working perfectly. The other thing I like about this phone is that when you take off the battery the time is set automatically after clicking yes for auto update. I got the headset and the radio reception is fantastic. When the joystick gets stuck I move it on all sides and it works better. Buy this phone if you don't like phones full of things and the like. This superfabulous!!!

This was my 2nd fon wich in bought in March 2006. Main advantages-nice screen,good preloaded games. Thankfully Sony Ericsson Included infrared port. Otherwise, u should think wisely b4 buying it. Anyway bout the disadvantages, no FM radio wich hurts, rough joystick but it won't be a problem if u have used N73. The joystick is very much better than N73.

I have one since 2 years. Works good, but the bad point for me (as I libe in a border area) is that there is no way to lock the network used. It automatically switches to another network, and potentially a one I don't want (because of roaming).

Nice colour,loads of features,excellent ringtones.But poor joystick and very poor battery.Both 'Yes' key and joystick work as 'Enter' key resulting in wrong calls being made or SMS being sent to wrong person if there is slightest slip in pushing the joystick.And J210 does not ask for a second confirmation before actual call(e.g. ref. Find and call function).How this escaped notice of SE is a mystery not befitting a reputed company.SE should compensate the hapless buyers.

yer this fone is pretty bad....after owning the fone 4 about six months the screen would blank often, the joystick wouldn't work, the speakers were stuffing up, it wouldnt charge properly and on occasions the fone would turn off even with full battery.

ya, my mobile joystick used to jam but when i gave it to the mobile repair to clean it, it really does work. now its the same new phone. i wish if this had a camera. this phone is awesome. i been using since the last 9 months. there is some problem with the hanging but its sometimes. well every cell phone does.

i love this phone i got it for 45$US but they could have replaced the joystick thing with 4 arrows(like nokia) for faster navigation.and the joystick has a hard edge hence my nick. the screen is too bright at night(cant turn the backlight off) they could have improved on the scheduler and add repetitive tasks.

I personally like this phone. As its just unsomparable with any other phone in its range,... Noone wud give irda,gprs and stuff just for 3000rs,... Its weight is just much lite,.. i can't guess y others complainin like tis,.. but ofcourse the system is bit slow compared wid others,... got to compromise wid something na,.. YES you can connect this phone to pc by using DCU-11 cable(USB) but you can only download pictures from Image Editor or so i've read. Try infrared instead.

Hey guys!! This phone is a basic cellphone! In a case you didn't notice that.. It's for users who don't need cameras and stuff in their phones. There is still many plus-features which set this model above the most simple ones: *infrared port (you can send pictures from your pc to cell, and NO, you don't need Image Editor to make it happen!) * WAP, MMS and GPRS (not all the "basic" ones have those) * What ever you morons said.. This phone has an excellent display! Or at least mine has! Yours can be crap..hahhaaa * Schedule is a great feature in this. I like it a lot! * And last but not least: It doesn't look like i had dug it from the dumpster!! So it ain't look cheap. :D Only actual minus in this mobile is the joystick. It can be slow sometimes.. :( And for those who said: "oh, i just bought this and in 2 days it went dead.." You don't know how to use a cellphone!! Idiots..sorry XD

Despite what some people may say this cellphone is simply great. It does have all the features that a mobile like this with no integrated camera should have although I must say that it seems to have a very very small delay in some functions. This is the only bad point I've found and in my opinion is not that big deal. Overall: this phone is a great piece of modern technology, sounds good, looks good and it has never failed on me when I really needed! Thank you Sony Ericsson! ahah :D

It's simple to use and yet there is enough features for me. I have no need for camera or mp3 player. I have them already. My handsfree FM radio (HPR-20) is enough for me! :D Only fault is that j210i doesn't support java..

I was given this phone as a birthday gift and I have been using it for over a month now. The only problem with the phone is the battery life and the space. 600MB cant do nothing for youngsters of now adays. Anyway, the person that was asking about handsfree, I just got one for my set yesterday and its working perfectly. The only thing is before you get the handsfree you have to take your phone to where they are selling it so you can test if its the type for your phone

I'm in Switzerland. Very very satisfied from my Sony J210i. I was only looking for phone (time to time) and SMS, o it fits perfectly my need. Moreover, it has a nice clear display, additional features useful (agenda, calculator), very good intuitive interface, very clear sound, good communication quality. It is nice to watch and easy to use. I like it :) The only cons : - Battery time seems not very good. Avoid to use too much time the display. - Joystick is not as so good as a K750i. Sometimes hard. - The timer sometimes doesn't work (it doesn't ring, though activated, so don't rely on it if you have a very important rendez-vous) - No speaker (but I don't care)

I bought this phone a few weeks ago and here are my comments: Good points: - Bright display, reasonably rigid casing, cheap, but not necessarily good for value, loud ringtone, reasonably clear sound, ok on RF, Simple to use. Bad points: - Timer does not really ring when reached zero, sticky joystick, poor battery life, if you change battery, the time/date resets, very primative address book, my phone has a bug, if you use portable handsfree, the earpiece becomes a speakerphone - very embarrasing in a meeting! Overall, i think the low scores in voting results are a good reflection of the phone.

I lost my nokia 2300 and bought this phone. I had a choice between a nokia 3210 n this j210i. Though i really wanted a Nokia 2650. Bad points: 1.Battery life is miserable. Talk time n standby time are disappointing. 2.SE joysitcks are not user friendly in their lower segment phones. Compared to the W800i this joystick is bad. Sticks a lot. 3.When replying to an sms, if you press 'yes' or the joystick down, the message goes immediately, and I've sent many an incomplete message this way. Good points: 1. Scores high on looks. 2. Lightweight 3. Good for persons who do not use their phone frequently through the day 4. Cheap.

Good phone. I really regret buying a Nokia 1600 instead of this. For the same price, I could have had a phone that has these. :( *Excellent infrared connection *Responsive keypad (please NEVER wet the joystick!) *Crystal clear ringtones *Bigger and brighter than N1600 display *Cheap *Simple no-nonsense menus Good thing is, my friend bought one and I tried it and I liked it. Again beware of getting it (specially the joystick) wet or even moist. That's when the trouble starts with an SE phone. Buy a cover! And also you will have to make do with a slowish CSTN display, which is slower than a TFT display (K500i my other phone, K750i, etc.) in terms of refresh. But it is faster than a T290. You can set the contrast though. Themes and other bells and whistles are available for download at the SE site. Go ahead, buy one! ^_^ But if you have time to wait, Go get the SE J220 or J230 coming this year 2006. SE Philippines has not announced when yet.

I bought this phone for my son last month. Unfortunately, after two days, the phone hanged and nobody can use it. It was totally dead. It was replaced the next day with a new phone unit. However, after a week, the phone hanged again with the same problem. I was told that the dealer has to ugrade the operating system. I agreed and all data was deleted. Now, the phone has been working for three weeks without problems. I hope that the OS upgrade helped.

Overall a good basic phone. It's simple and useful primarily for calling and SMS. The keys are small and close but it does give reasonable tactile feedback. The screen is nice and bright and can be viewed outside in the sun. There is some slight delay between keying and messaging but you can't fault SE because this is a basic phone. Do check with your local operator for WAP/GPRS support. I've found some difficulties getting it configured and working correctly. The ringtones and ring volume are nice and loud - 32-polyphonic and a dedicated speaker built-in. Buy this if your telephony needs are simple.

Just bought this phone and to replace my defunct R520m, which I still love. J210i is a low cost phone so it suits me because I need a basic phone with some practice features. Similar to R520m, it has all the necessary functions. 2 things missing are bluetooth and speaker phone. I still have to try out how powerful the reception is because the Ericsson R520m can be use in a lift/elevator. For the J210, i wish it has a firmer built and the keyboard a bit bigger. Otherwise, i think it is a reasonably priced phone. I got mine in Hong Kong for about US$100.

Have the j200i must say its quite an awful phone,the joystick selects stuff at random,the phone hangs when surfing and when the clock screensaver is on..and this happens at least twice a week very poor memory especially for ringtones Had the T230 before this till it unfortunately got stolen..that was a truly nice phone

This fone is just the next best to J200. But one small advice - If u can spend a little more, for God's sake go fr the J300. Its a lot better. I'm using one right now. The joystick and other problems of J200 r completely solved.

hey i bought the j200 2 days ago and i am not quiet satisfied as i was with my n3100 j200s joysticks is starting to give prob it doesnt reponds and it has a very low memory it has a limited only 8 polyphonic rings with 30 mono 16 pics and no themes and games and it doesnt play gif images and i can only transfer only 20kb of jpeg pic and it also doesnt support bitmap and iam not quiet willing for this new version b/c of the same memory :(

I like the J200i except for the bad battery life and the very slow keyboard reaction. I sure hope the J210i addresses these problems besides having a nicer display.

I have just bought a 5.2mp digital camera so I have no use now for the SE W800 :-( so I had to find another phone with no camera to my linking. I found this one: I believe it is just what I need, no fancy camera, no mp3, no complications. Just a sleek, basic mobile phone. I am not too crazy about the green color though.. I wish they would make a pink or red cover so I'd be happy :-)

The difference between J200 and J210 is mainly colour display. J210 is having 65K and that of J200 is having 4096. What is the price difference? When it's going to lonch? According to me, it is better that j200 and comparable to LG G 1600 in color display point of view.
