Running LineageOS on it for 1 year now. (Pie 9.0 currently, but Q 10.0 build imminent) The Le Max 2 a fairly decent device. Solid alloy case. Replacement parts, e.g. new screen, for cheap prices on aliexpress.com. Speedy Snapdragon 820 SoC (14nm die), but battery life quite poor unless slowed down.

Excellent phone for tweakers!! Running Android 8.1, AOSIP rom. Benchmark scores still up there with the "big boys", bought it in 2016 and still runs like a dream! Gmod camera app gives it pixel II like performance, newest modem software really boosts the fingerprint scanner (unlock in 0.2 secs). Battery management is perfect in this mod, 11 hrs moderate use. As soon as I received the phone, I removed the EUI OS, and went for a custom ROM. As a tweakers phone, this thing blows any phone out of the water, it is sooo forgiving. And the mod community apparently has some love for the Max 2, as you can now install Android 9 (PIE) on it. The LeEco Le Max 2 still has some years to go... (6gig - 128gig) version.

The Le Max 2 is the best buy I have done regarding smartphones, only problem I have had since I bought is the fingerprint reader, but other than that a superb smartphone that's still going strong. I hope that LeEco will keep building new and powerful smartphones, because they are certainly on the right track. I Recommend this product!

I bought the lemax2 in September 16 any have faced no problems so far. Only the fingerprint reader never worked. Bryan is working f9, never leave it overnight for charging reduces bty life. Specs r good today also if u compare with any phone today. Phone is exceptional in working n very fast Overall very happy and satisfied with this phone

Heyyo, I must say... I LOVE THE LEECO LE MAX 2! It's easily the most cost effective smartphone purchase I've made. Screen is a good QHD IPS LCD, fingerprint reader works great (for Ultrasonic) and the IMX230 rear camera takes fantastic photos and the custom ROM scene is very lively and successful. Also, the included Continuous Digital Lossless Audio(CDLA) headset is really really darn good! The downsides are the battery life isn't great due to the QHD screen and SD820 SoC, the rear camera can only record FHD 30fps videos (4K UHD is also 30fps but every phone in 2016 could only do that too) and the official EUI ROM is stuck on Marshmallow with a security date of January 1, 2017... That's also if you're lucky and don't have an x829 variant that is stuck on 5.8.016s with updates disabled (mine was, only way to upgrade was to unlock bootloader and flash). Also, no 3.5mm headphone jack since LeEco was the first company to drop it in their phones and opt for USB Type-C headsets (such as the LeEco CLDA headsets). Would I recommend a LeEco Le Max 2 in 2018? Heck yeah. The SnapDragon 820 SoC is still a great performer and is faster than a SmapDragon 660 (especially in 3D games due to a better GPU) and the overall package is still a darn good deal.

In my opinion this phone have good performance and good camera and good screen and good battery after modified os and QC 3 and usb type c and good fingerprint . For me.... Only big problem is O S i using it from 6 months but it still on marshmallow . Due to his campany problems. At first my use i had many problems with it but after i found good firmware that has been modified by someone from needrom web my phone works great good battery backup it works more about 1 day for me and good camera and official firmware eui 5.9.19s with zero bug firmware and also multilingual at first he didn't make that firmware for free but after i contacted with him he tell me the password for the file and i glade to him becuse my phone is working great after this firmware.... This phone has two quite huge problems: - soft is full of bugs. One has to install custom rom or just let it be, with apps that crush quite often or lag - battery life. After 10 months battery dropped from 3100 mAh to only 2000 mAh. And even when it was brand new it could hardly last one day with an average use. Despite aforementioned, this phone is truly amazing not only considering its price, but in general. Display is great, performance is good, and, what really surprised me, camera is only Sony IMX230 but somehow it manages to take much better photos than expected; in fact, since I've bought Leeco, I stopped using my digital camera.

Yep Fingerprint Reader is not so good. It takes a full second to unlock + the accuracy is 70% (so sometimes i have to retry to unlock). Other than that though, everything else is very good. I'm happy with the phone overall.

I also have this phone. I'm using this for almost 1 year. Fingerprint scanner was not that good, it took me a couple of times for me to unlock my phone using that feature. There were several times that it stopped working, totally, then it came back then stopped again. I'm not satisfied with that experience. Another thing, Its server doesn't work well, I tried to log out my LeEco account but the server is not good. I hope this problems will be fixed ASAP.😢

The chinese browser is unconfigurable, and can't uninstall it. I have the alternative browser Google bar, but would like install a good browser APP. Can you suggest one??

Using now for more than a year. Only back camera broke - it can shoot photos but the focus became fixed and I had no luck to fix that. Besides that, the phone works perfectly fine. Battery is lasting alright as it was when it came. I'm charging it every day but haven't noticed any wear signs with the battery. Also,the phone after year of use isn't lagging at all, running very fast. I'm very happy with leeco. Defenetly would buy their new products if they would launch them.

Users from india please suggest how to get volte update for airtel and vodafone. The last update activated volte for jio in last 2016. Since then no system update or security patch. The company is no longer going to give any such update. Then how to use volte service for vodafone or airtel.... Though not a big issue as these are not volte only network... LTE, 3g, 2g are parallely available. Still will miss hd quality voice call and simultaneously data and voice without the patch update.

Battery lasts around a day for me, i leave phone on overnight and dont turn anything off. If your looking though pictures, watching videos, making calls, then expect your battery to die in a few hours. Fast charge is extremely quick (15-20 mins full battery!!!) it can get hot if used for 30 minutes straight, also gets hot quickly with fast charge. I recommend getting a warranty with this phone as the internals lasted me 11 months.

220$ for le max 2 x829 I got 11 Months of use out of it. No drops, no water damage. Blue led came on while the phone was on my desk. Pretty disappointed, I spent about 15 hours reading posts, trying to flash the phone and no luck to get it back to stock phone. Other guy posted he got the blue led after a few days; unreliable. It heats up quickly if watching video or playing a game or basic charging(turn off fast charge). Positives: Fastest phone ive owned, no wait to switch programs/ screens easily comparable to 600$ phones. Extremely cheap! Conclusion: I'd say its worth the money if it lasts over 18 months but you gamble with unreliability.

Hello, try to install via TWRP AcoSlim by Arielaco, this rom is amazing is based in android 6.0.1 eui 28s and the last rom is the numer 28.161, stand by is amazing and the battery life is really nice 5 hrs sot. and very fast rom, no lag.

I love this phone, the camera takes your breath away. I record youtube videos with it too because of how good it is on both sides. The only down side is when it's on standby, it drains faster than actually using them phone. My suggestion, if you plan to not use the phone for more than an hour... power it off, standby is a battery drainer.

Heyyo, I definitely love my LeEco Le Max 2. Great hardware for the price and the Sony IMX 230 Exmor RS camera takes great shots and even better shots with Google Camera Mod. The only downside is software support. With LeEco's financial issues official EUI ROM updates have slowed down to a crawl (if going at all that is). Even so, EUI ROM 19s Indian, 26s stable and 28s beta are really solid. Luckily? The custom ROM community is thriving and Android 8.1 Oreo builds are surfacing so it's not the end of the road for Android updates.

Heyyo, this phone is a steal of a deal if you want really good hardware for the cheapest price possible. The EUI ROM is really gross IMO with the quick tiles moved to the recent apps screen for some reason being the biggest offender... but that's quickly resolved by installing a custom ROM and there's plenty of good ones to choose from since luckily the cheap price with good hardware specs has attracted quite a few software developers which shows on XDA. Would I recommend this phone though to someone who is afraid of flashing custom ROMs? No because lots of these phones come with e-tailer update locked versions of EUI ROM running 16s which isn't stable unless you're lucky enough to get an Indian x821 version with the Indian 19s EUI ROM on it... As for manufacturer warranty? It is only one year sadly but I've had my Le Max 2 for almost a year and haven't had any hardware issues minus I cracked the screen but that was replaced with a $40 replacement screen from aliexpress so the good screen is cheap to replace if you accidentally break it like me heh.

The battery life is average at best. I'm a medium user, a couple of hours surfing every day, email, instagram and maybe 30mins video and the battery will eek out to about 36hrs. It's brand new and I find I put it on charge every night. I used it this morning for 2 hours using a music app and it drained 50% of the batter in just that 2 hours.

I just bought this phone after searching as many reviews as possible. It is my first phone from an "unknown" company. For this money, I don't think I could have possibly find anything better. I have the 128Gb, 6Gb Ram, version and so far everything works smoothly. Bluetooth, headset, I haven't found anything wrong yet. Indeed the UI is a bit annoying, but you get used to that, or you can root, or just use another launcher. Looking at the review done here, I can add the fact that mine came with usb c headset, and on top of the silicon case, it has secured glass already applied on the screen.

I tried fixing it with TWRP installed more that 15 different roms already, noting worked, now I am very dissapointed, now I understand why the 250 usd cost. I do not recommend this phone.

i bought it from banggood for Rs. 12000. LEeco le max 2. 4gb variant. i got cdla earphone, screen protector all. and phone is very smooth no lags, very good ram managment and very good camera and audio too throught that cdla earphone. i played psp games through emulator, modern combat 5, aslphat 8, real racing 3. no lag issue, 4gb ram more than enough. i get around 1.7gb free out of it whatever im playing and battery backup is good to around 6hrs on screen time, lasts full day, and comes with quick charge 3.0. excellent phone. im recommending it.

I use a quickcharge 3 charger with my le max 2 and it charges much faster while using this (can toggle on and off quickcharge in power settings if you need even more charge speed) this will not harm your device.

American version has seller rom, so you cant update it. If yoy wanna update your rom, you should install china/indian stock rom. China one doesnt contain gapps, and has 26s version, indian version has gapps and less bloatware but its stuck at 19s. If you wanna install default rom, use twrp and install it after 4 wipe

I am using the Le Max 2 in the U. S. and it doesn't have any system update button in settings. When I download official rom 5.9.021, rename it update.zip and open it in file manager to update, it goes into recovery mode, starts to extract., but stops after 45 seconds and says that file is corrupt. If I do a factory reset, what will I lose in the function for 4G lte in the U. S.? Will I then be able to upgrade with the official rom? I have already backed up all of apps to another storage device. Love the phone, but it would be nice to be able to update it. Anyone help will be well appreciated. Thanks.

It is a travesty of justice to mention Huawei P9 Lite and LeEco LeMax 2 in the same sentence. LeMax 2 is better than P9 Lite by leaps and bounds...no comparison really. I've both phones in hand right now. LeMax 2 - the real deal; P9 Lite - hype (And I'm a Huawei fan). NB: Even Redmi Note 3 trumps P9 Lite. LeMax 2 trumps both phones, with the only exception being that Redmi Note 3 has better battery life than the other two.

I bought leeco max 2 (820) version and I use AT&T network. I am facing lot of issues with signal and most of the time I need to restart the phone. I checked with "Leeco Customer Care" and they mentioned Leeco Max 2 any version will not support in USA. Leeco Customer care people mentioned only S3 and Pro3 only support in USA. My suggestion is not to buy Leeco Max 2 in USA especially from china (like geekbuying.com).

Been using the x829 model for about a month now in the USA. +Hardware specs are a crazy good deal for ~$200 +Incredibly fast once you put a custom ROM on it. I use Lineage OS 14.1. -Mediocre camera that becomes bad once you use custom ROMs -Modem is bad, can't maintain full bars on Wi-Fi/4G LTE even though my older phones could. Internet seems to function normally though. -Fingerprint scanner is slow and usually doesn't function anyways -Like the Axon 7, the black borders around the screen stick out like a sore thumb because the phone has no black color option. If you're tolerant of the drawbacks, it's pretty much the most powerful phone available for a person on a $200 budget. I still like it for what it is as a budget phone.

I have been using this device for a while without any issue. Super fast , Quality Camera detailing is very sharp in rear camera, I don't like beauty featured front camera blued the images after processing, but during the video call no problem. Battery last for 7 hours at a stretch while watching movie and online 4g network since it's displacing in 2k resolution with massive 5.7" screen with 515 ppi one shouldn't compare with xaomi's faded display. Some people wrote about figure print sensor issue; but no problem with phone. Only issue is bulky rear camera mount aesthetically not good. Else super phone.

Got a grey one with 6gb/128gb combo for $261. Freaking awesome!!!! The phone ticks all boxes. Battery could've been better but considering QHD it's not bad either. Performance is great so is the fingerprint. Saw a lot of complaint about the fingerprint but guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Worked for me every time. EUI is great but a bit heavy. The le max phone has a different finger print sensor, it works kind of in a weird way. The print sensor wont work in cold temperatures, so if the print sensor feels cold, it might take a bit to respond. I own a le max 2, and soo far, no problem at all

first of all its an excellent product no doubt about it. for those who are claiming that fingerscreen is not working here is solution and some facts. 1. all leeco le max 2 phones are imported on June 2016 with eui 5.6 even if you ordered them in December you will get same product imported in July even if you exchange it you will get same product imported in June 2. while as an Android developer I took close look on logs with one product purchase by my friend with fingerscan issue. I came to know that there is not a hardworking issues at all but a software issue of eui 5.6. The process that fingerscreen is using overtook by internet pushword with one of third party apps installed from playstore. To know that huge datasets of used logs needed which is impossible on personal level and can be found out on enterprise level. 3. for some of you stating that they didn't occur any issue right now because some third party apps allows peocess to execute first. but problems will exists once you uninstall that app. which are those app which cause this is still unsure with same problem mentioned above. Sometimes this process allow to use internet process first then execute fingerscreen hence there will be delay of 3 to 5 seconds 4. This issue is resolved in stable version of eui 5.8x which you need to update before using it at all 5. once you receive phone do the following process to avoid any problem with fingerscan 6. power on phone but don't do anything. keep it on charging on fast charge mode until you reached more than 60%. download eui update of 5.8x from lemall website of size 1.82 gb on computer and rename it as update.zip. Now attach your mobile in media transfer mode and copy that to root of mobile. safely removed from computer and goto setting ->update->local. it will show update available and then update it. After start of update insert sim before connecting to Wi-Fi its must thing othewise same error with fingerscan. 7. now enjoy product with great features. 8. even if you replace mobile you will see that issues remains the same hence only option is to stay patient and do the steps mentioned above. however the process executed on priority in le 2 device hence there is no issue of fingerscan on that device 9. if possible you can also check log files of fingerscan with yours and others or just ask someone who are using same device for comparison through social media or mail me your logs.

Antutu of over 130,000, music app included that can download most songs with lyrics and everything and no ads, camera which captures a lot of detail and charges in about an hour! Also the speaker of this phone is amazing with Dolby Atmos! The fingerprint reader might not be the most reliable that one can get but usually it recognizes my fingerprint by the 2nd try. With repeated use, it starts reading instantly. Best phone one can get for under 200 euros =D . Proud owner of Le MAX 2 X822 4gb P.S. For those asking asking what's the difference between X822 and X820, apparently the X822 has a better clocked CPU. I have the x822 and it works fine with very high Antutu benchmarks as I said before. JUst a follow up.. if you hazzled by an fingerprintscanner only taking the reading from time to time, then take two profiles to one finger- that did the trick for me, and from only getting 5 out of 10 ratio, ewen thow how carefull i was to set it up.. its now closer to 10out10. Are on the X822 dark-grey lacking OTA so the 16s buld is there t stay unless i wanne take the plunge on other roms, but its blazing fast getting around 150k in antutut and setting highest scores on graphic intensiv benchmarks like the Basemark X where im getting above 43.000 and around 37k in high setting. Qualcomm Vellamo benchapp getting 6000 & 6200 on Chrome and webUI, and around 3700 in Metal.

Rear camera is excellent. Just update it to EUI 5.8.0.16s and you will see the difference. It is the best phone at 18k at present. Anyways , xiaomi has stopped launching midrange phones like Mi Note 2 in India. So be happy with LeMax 2.

Le Eco Max 2 rear camera is hopeless. Front is cam is excellent but backside camera is worst of all. Though it is said 21 MP, the pics are worse than a 13 MP cam. Flash light is not sufficient. Even in 1 meters distance the night time pics are coming as of VGA. Second, it is not able to use wired head phones. And the cordless head phones offered by Le Eco are of high price and poor in receiving voice. I expected a lot but receive little. I had Lenovo 6000 which was far better than this worse mobile.

Hi all! I have a bit of problem with my battery. It doesnt charge fully. I leave it on charge for a night and in the morning i take it off with 99%. To get a high score keep your le max 2 in the freezer for 45 seconds and then run antutu benchmark then you will get a score around 145000 The softwear is restricting the performance of the hardware for some reasons like phone temperature,available ram and etc . Antutu benchmarks are not always the same they are fluctuating !! Lex821 is not fake

I doubt it gets more powerfull then this model with price in mind. Useally its eMMC5.1 and 1866mhz we see in the budget class, but on this model UFs2.0 and 3733 ramspeed. some of the fastest android phone in peloton, getting a little under 43k on Basemark X and 36.5k on High setting . on a Qualcomms browsermarks getting 5950 on chrome and 6129 on Webview. (pretty solid for an sd820 and ewen set sd821 on the back) I got the cheap 222US model dark grey, X822 and still trying to get familiar with it, but to some point its looks limited, can get the penasearch function to pop out (like search for things on phone) and also no upgrade-feature in settings and the 21.3mpix'cam is nothing to write home about very washed out colors, it should have OIS-feature but doesnt look like its an partically effective one, but then again an solid cam is useally a costly affaire, so fair enough with the relative extreme low price in mind carrying these specs.. a powerhouse of an phone, but it doesnt sum it all up as solid an experience as my main p8max ewen thow its way more powerfull.. but the wifi and LTE cat12 is very fast

Have also just got this phone, its the 222US X822 in darkgrey 4GB&32GB model with 16s build. And im impressed with the peformance. here after a couple of ddays checking and testing and putting apps on it, I have now checked the benchmarks and it seems im on the 16s build that according to some shoud be the slowone in regards to 18s and 19s that are out XDA. but still on 16s build im getting basemark X 42.639 and antutu 146.863 and with sub-ram score a little under 14k . Vellamo aka qualcomms own benchapp , im getting 5829 in Chrome browser score. pretty solid to say the least ram and drive score, 456read and 156 write, and 15.668 in ram speed all in all, pretty rocking scores for an 222US device, and some of them actually putting the SD821 lowe and theSD821 is both clocked higher in CPU and in the adreno GPU. sofare im impressed im getting around 230mb in wifi in upload on a old wndr4300 router placed in the other room and the 4G worls brilliantly here in copenhagen with around 90mb down and 40mb up, so the cat12lte+ seems supported. Impressed with the handset and it put my P8max 64gb 6.8inch to shame when it comes to speed. but I really like the p8max when it comes to all other factors and 4G works after EMUI4.0 so the LTEhardware was present, just not activated in 703L. and im a succer for the landscape features, and having it all orientated to landscape, like homescreen etc. a shame that aint possible in X822 or just double tap.

Fingerprint sensor will not improve even after update. After update to 5.8.0.16S , the performance , camera improved and once I got 122k. That after killing all the apps in background. But consistently it will will give 80k on antutu 6.2.1. I think that is because it has to push 2k display compared to fhd displays on other phones. Overall the phone performance became much better after update.

I had got this le eco le max in dasera sale n got it on 15 oct from Flipkart. Yes its letv......n i still dont understand d difference coz on net it says its d same brand....le n letv. Update: Battery life same as before. However, there is a catch . If you test on Antutu repeatedly over a short period of time , the antutu scores go lower and lower . from 120 to 80k again. Sustained performance is not SD820's forte. But it did touch 122k on Le Max 2 (X821). Only once.

This is an update on Le Max 2 (X821 not X820 bought from Flipkart India during Oct 2016 sale). I had reported to Letv regarding low scores that I was getting on Antutu 6.2.1 , around 78-79 k (I had sent screenshots also ) 10 days back. They had assured that they are working on it. I had reported from the FEEDBACK preinstalled app in the phone itself. Now today 15.10.2016 , I tested and ran Antutu 6.2.1 for a few times. Got consistently 120-122k scores up from 78-79k. I had removed all the running apps from background thus available ram was 2.3gb. I had done this earlier also but was getting 78-79k. With or without running apps hardly made any difference to the antutu scores of 78-79k That I was getting. Now this is an major improvement . Rest was already excellent in the phone. Now I will check the battery performance and update again.

Probably the worst experience ever after buying a product online. I need to know what are my options going ahead, i hate this phone camera quality (they say 21MP) and completely pissed off with your Customer Service and Service Center response. Inferior Camera Quality, went to service center and all they did is update Software of the phone (as if we don't know how to update OS), and it made zero difference. I was complaining about this issue on day 1 and tried to return the phone from day 1 but your Customer Support didn't respond and your website Return / Refund web form never worked. Hassle Free returns? What the hell is that, all i faced is hassles only. i am not even able to submit Comment on lemall website, forget returning a product. This is plain daylight robbery. Thanks for the observation. You are correct . My Le Max 2 has Letv printed on the back and it is giving me around 78k on Antutu 6.2.1 whereas my Le 2 is giving me 82k. What a shame ! So much for SD820 chipset. Can you please tell what they have done with SD820 to make it give these kind of low scores on antutu. EUI is same as that of Le2 but cant understand the wretched performance of Lemax 2 with Letv printed on the back.

Which version is yours? Do you have 4GB RAM or 6GB? I have LeTV LeMax2. I ran Antutu Benchmark and I got 78503. I later made sure that all apps are cleared. I removed animations too. Then i achieved 100000 only once. After that, it's hovering around 88000 to 90000. I compared my phone in antutu app with LeMax2. My phone is detected as LeX821. I do not understand why my phone doesn't get detected as LeMax2.

Guys, I bought LeMax 2 from Snapdeal 2 days ago. I ignored all the user opinions and reviews here and bought it. Now, i am seeing the reality. The main reason why we are facing so many issues might be because all our phones are LeTV Lemax2 rather than LeEco Lemax2. I hope you get my point. I checked plenty of youtube videos comparing Lemax2 with S7 edge, Oneplus 3, Mi5 and the Lemax2 was awesome. What I also noticed was that all of them had LE written on their phones. Our phones have LeTV written on it. Somebody asked what is the difference between x820 and x822. I think whatever I am trying to tell, is the difference between these two models. Soon, I started reading Amazon.in reviews, started searching for Youtube videos where they have reviewed LeTV Lemax2 and they all complain like us. I hope you got my point. This is very bad. I am returning my phone after 1 day use. I am disappointed in LeTv/LeEco. I have both LeTV Le1s and Le2 at my house. They both are way better than this so called flagship. Shame on them.

Here is my user experience . Honest and unbiased. I am using LeMax 2 . Bought it on 8.10.16. Used it extensively ,non stop, for few days. Fingerprint scanner is so slow. Used the calibration for fingerprint but still slow. and not accurate also. Antutu benchmarks of Le max 2 hovering around 78k mostly ….. that is the most annoying thing. Nothing close to 130k…. once in a while it touches 97k….Again back to 78k….Just imagine SD820 powered phone giving a antutu score of 78k !!!! .I cant understand how others are getting 138k on their Le max 2. Mine is 4gb version . Maybe theirs are 6gb version. but such difference is not believable. Or maybe because of enormous bloatware . But Le2 also had bloatware and it gave me Antutu score of 82k. Phone is smooth though, like LeEco Le2Â…. I am talking about the Indian version bought from Flipkart. Bought it from Flipkart in 2 to 6 oct 2016 Sale. Got it real cheap and that is the reason I bought itÂ….SD820 powered phone at Rs 17999/- !! I checked the specs with CPU-Z and found specs are all correct. Camera is good. but little slow. Not for performance freaks. Overall EUI is fluid but that is not surprising given it is powered by SD820 and 4 gb ram. But I feel LeEco made this phone, like their other phones, for promotion of their streaming videos, TV channels . which they own and not for pure android experience which people expect from a flagship phone... Hardware is good on paper but actual experience is not that great. I have tested it with heavier games like Realracing 3, GTRacing 2, Asphalt 8, Riptide2. All high end games runs smoothly..as they did on Le2 . To be honest it is just a shade faster than LeEco Le 2 which also I own and used it for few months and still using it.. If you expect performance of typical SD820 phone you will be really disappointed. This Indian version of LeMax 2 sold on October2016 Sale does not perform like a SD820 powered phone. Horrible fingerprint reader..Takes ages to read your fingerprint. I use pattern instead to unlock. Performance is like LeEco Le 2 . Shade better. Preinstalled apps like Levidi, LIVE . mar the user experience and you cannot uninstall them unless you are rooted. Will check the battery performance and update. But within a day I could sense battery life is not great (though fast charging is there and that is also mediocre). Certainly not like Xiaomi Note 3 or Le 2 . Flipkart Sale price of Rs 17999/- is quite justified. It certainly does not deserve a higher price than this. Useless QHD display drains the battery so fast..FHD is better than QHD unless battery is above 4500mah. .Oneplus 3 is far better. Having said that( by the way, I have also used Oneplus 3) I should say that Oneplus 3 also does not deserve a pricetag of Rs 27999/- . It is actually a 23k-24k phone by today's standards of LeMax 2. Oneplus 3 did not lower the price during festive sale of 2 to 6 oct'16. That was little surprising. Xiaomi should bring their latest Mi5s plus powered with sd821 & 4gb ram to show these upstarts some lessons in phone performance.

I reported to LeEco from the "feedback" App ( which is a preinstalled app on Le Max 2) Getting some response from their engineers also who are stated to be working on it. I also sent them screenshots of Antutu bench marks. How can a flagship phone powered by SD820 and 4 gb ram get scores of 78 - 79k on Antutu (6.2.1)????? This beats everything I have seen in Android market. Even in my Le2 I get 82-84k regularly. Fingerprint reader is horrible. I have stopped using it. Instead I am using pattern to unlock my phone.

The finger print sensor is a complete failure. within 2 days of buying it became dead. I called for replacement. it took one month for them to just arrive for pick up. i declined to return since i was not sure how much long will it take for them replace, customer service is pathetic. its hardware problem. I am just getting adjusted to live without sensor , since even if i get replacement , not sure that the finger print may fail again. Rest features are good but almost 70% of this phones have problem with fingerprint sensor

I don't know about the fingerprint since i don't use it but the wireless speed its quite fast and the 4g its also fast, don't have any problems about it, you have to make an update. Download this change the name to update.zip transfer it from your pc to your le max 2, then open your file explorer and open the update.zip, it will ask you if you want to update the phone and you type yes and it will update everything to the last oficial chinese rom (it has english and other languages). Don't forget to have at least 50% battery on the phone before doing this.

Have this phone since release date. Since then no problems at all. Fingerprint Sensor isn´t always accurate but it works usually the second time. After the second time it always recognizes the finger faster than the first try when you pull it out of your pocket. Other than that it is cheaper and better IMO than the Iphone6 of my sister. Best UI I´ve ever come across! Simple to adapt to. It is kinda rip-off of the Apple layout, but I don´t mind since it´s simple as hell ^^ BTW I use this phone in Germany and I choose this instead of the Xiaomi Mi5 because it supports the LTE Band used in Germany.

Its more than 2 months now and after filing a case in consumer forum service center came back saying that we are ready to refund full amount. I refused the offer and continued pursuing the case to demand severe punishment for the harassment to the several customers They cant take customers for granted to wait for so many days when policy is of max 10 days only. No spare phone for almost 2 months I have filed case against service center and company in consumer forum @ pune office I would advise you to do same and lets fight this battle legally There is not much expense and it will be recovered from company by court Go ahead and file case you can claim compensation for harassment

To all those that are complaining. Being cheap and getting the phone on flashsale you are getting the models that first made it off the assembly line with no updates whatsover. You are going to have issues. I have a Doogee and a Gionee that have LTE bands for the Americas and have not one problem with any of them at all. Search for system updates and upload them right away if offered. I look forward to getting this phone once my Gionee E8 Life(aka BLU Pure XL) stops working. You save alot over Samsung, LG, Huawei and HTC.

I've had the phone (4GB versionl) for about two weeks. There must have been a couple of good improvements on the software since the release, beaches this is the most stable device I've had, everything is fast and simple, the camera works like a charm, no need for adjusting, just great photos in a sec. However this is a Chinese version with some Chinese bloatware with I'm removing when Leeco stop updating it. Remember that these Chinese firms got staff sitting and trash talk other firms devices all day. But if you want to play it safe buy a phone in the local shop.

I purchased LeMax 2 on 28 June,2016 through Flipkart during its flash sale. Due to manufacturing defect its finger printer was not working.So I was advised to submit in Service centre named HCL Touch in Ahmedabad Gujarat & i did same on 15 July 2016. Being fed with all this on 31 Aug.2016 I had sent my complaint giving all necessary details & document to Their H.O. at Gurgaon through 'Speedpost' with a copy to Mr. Atul Jain, COO LeEco India. Reply/acknowledgement yet to receive. Even when I talked today with supervisor she mentioned that job is with related engineer & shall call me back just within an hour. Four hours are over & no call back yet. I believe all of them are employed to give false promises & assurances to the customers! Moreover customer is never told the ground realities as for what reason the related engineer is sitting on such small job? Question arises: 1. Is engineer is incompetent to handle the jobs? If so why company does not show him the door? 2. Has company not provided with spares/replacements to handle incidents of unfortunate customers who got delivered a unit with some manufacturing defect before launching any new product? 3. Has engineer informed controlling authority for unpardonable delay for contingency action like replacement with new unit? 4. If informed why controllers have failed to take remedial measure? So friends purchase any new product of LeEco company only if you too are willing to go through the ordeal I am going through! ;

Le Eco local repair agent has sent it to their main service centre. Within a week I got a call the phone is ready and collect it. But it has not come back after repair and customer care told that you would get it within clear 15 days (exc. saturday, sunday and holiday). Till now they have not returned it. Amazing phone, works smoothly! I bought myself the 6gb/64gb version and the 4/32 for my gf. 1 month passed and all the little issues we had such fingerprint sensor slow and not working, translation issues,phone heating and battery quick discharge and some little bugs were solved after the first big update at the beginning of july. Since then i had a great experience, no crashes, no freezes, everything works perfectly.

Hi, I have just bought Le Eco Max 2. The hardware looks great and the screen offers an excellent quality. Loaded with a lot of apps and antivirus running in the background, Antutu still runs at 115 000 (+ 20 000lower than the official score). Contrary to what is said in some review, there is no NFC device in the Le Eco Max 2 4Gb-32Gb. However, the software is not well finished. The French translation is only partially done. Using either Firefox or Chrome, it was impossible to listen to some web-radio at a time and place where my previous smartphone (Zopo ZP999) could easily do it and where internet speed test proved to be excellent (50MB/sec). The native apps like e.g. phone and contacts are basic and need to be replaced by better ones available on Google store. There are several LeEco apps only usable in China (and in Chinese) but they cannot be inactivated. The control over apps permissions is far not so extended as on my previous phone but I don't know whether it is linked to the phone or to the difference between Android 6 and 4. Camera not tested yet. Conclusion: great hardware poor software, for geeks mainly On the internet, there are some ROM in preparation but rooting and flashing the ROM is not for anybody.

For those who hesitate because no sd card slot , please note you can plug any USB key on it with a Type C adapter ( non include ) and we also easily find Type C 32gb/64gb memory , so it's not 100% same than SD card since you will have something plugged on bottom but it can help to load some music or movies for a trip ! And Flipkart have decided to refund the amount instead going for a replacement. Yes it does. I believe these bands align perfectly with T-mobiles apart from band 1700 MHz or you could wait for the US version of the phone, though I dunno and they didn't say when its going to be released. I'm planning on getting one too.

It clearly states these bands, but i have heard comments from LeTV saying they dont support US bands? I would love to get this especially surpassing the current offerings at the price of an s6, but if it does not support these bands, I'll have to settle for the HTC M9 :(

You are surely one of those rare stratospheric audiophile's who is not satisfied about sound quality until some mods are performed on his ultra expensive audio jewelry. :) Now a request. Plz do visit GSMArena on your spare time and post some read worthy posts about audio as 95% of people here use the term "audiophile" way too often without knowing anything about it. :"( Vivo, Oppo & OnePlus all belong to the BBK Electronics group of China. Believe me none of OnePlus and Oppo phones are audio worthy, as both uses the internal crappy audio codec that comes with every Snapdragon or MediaTek chipsets. Vivo on the other hand is audio centric, you will find use of discrete DACs & op-amps in their X series phones. And yes their audio tuning is also very good, the best I have seen from any smartphone manufacturer. For your information my Vivo X5Max smartphone uses the same DAC as yours DX90, the holy ESS Sabre ES9018K2M albeit in single ended configuration. As this is a current DAC it uses an ESS Sabre ES9601 op-amp designed for current-to-voltage conversion. Finally a Texas instruments OPA1612 headphone amplifier takes over the amplification job to the 3.5mm audio out jack. The phone has a separate power supplies just for audio hardware, to provide clean ripple free power to those hungry DACs and op-amps and dish out outstanding performance. Vivo calls this their HiFi 2.0 architecture, and in X5Max they were able to attain a measured 120dB SNR, 118dB dynamic range and distortion less than -100dB (< 0.001% THD). After hearing the X5Max over headphones, I now believe audio in smartphones have come a long way. Finally I admit smartphones still have some journey left when it comes to driving power, especially tough impedance loads. Lots of watts are required to drive multi-armatures earphones. That said just for your reference a Sony Xperia Z3 had a maximum headphone output volume of only -17.5dB where as the X5Max is able to pump out as high as -1.4dB. So the driving power of audio centric smartphones have improved a lot, I can use IEMs with my X5Max which were distant dreams with the Z3.

I agree, the Fiio X1 becomes obsolete after those Vivo and Oppo phones (they are from the same company along with OnePlus) have been released. But the higher-end players like Hifiman and Astell & Kern are just on another level. My rig consists of an iBasso DX90 connected to a modded Bluebird amp. Nothing high-end but you can hear the difference. A phone can not yet push out enough "power" to run multi-armatures earphones without draining the battery quickly. My DX90 uses a Samsung S3 battery and uses it up in 5 hours. It lasts a bit longer if I shut down its internal amp.

I have found there are currently many smartphones available in the market that can beat many a well known PMPs and USB-mounted sound card/amp devices, leaving those ultra expensive ones. I for one have given up using my Fiio X3 after owning a Vivo X5Max. Subjectively I have found X5Max have better audio quality than Fiio X1 and as good as X3. But then you will argue I am not an audiophile, which I am not. I am just a music lover.

Well real audiophiles won't directly line-out from a phone anyway. They either have a PMP (portable music player) or a USB-mounted sound card/amp device. I carry a iBasso if I need good quality music for my custom-molded IEM.

It is not necessary to remove the 3.5mm audio jack in-order to make a thin phone. The thinnest phone in the world Vivo X5Max (China version) came with a 3.5mm jack while having thickness of just 4.7mm. The LeEco Le Max 2 on the other hand is a fat beast at 7.99mm thickness and could have easily come with 3.5mm jack. It is just a marketing ploy that LeEco wants us to buy their headphones along with their phone. Audiophile communities have already had a big laugh at the CDLA audio transmission tech of LeEco.

Just saw that the LeEco Max 2 is already in stock at Wonda Mobile. They have a photo of the box bottom and the model name is X820. No more 3.5mm earphone plug but a USB-C converter is included, also it is dual nano SIM now.

Another phone that most likely won't have the USA frequencies. Samsung, Apple, AT&T, Verizon & the FCC have pretty much locked out the American market and limited the choice of phones consumers can use here, which keeps the price too high.

Congratulations to LeEco for producing such a wonderful trio of smartphones. In Indian context LeEco Le 2 will kill the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 straight away along with many other Chinese branded phones from Vivo, Oppo and Gionee which retails at twice its price!!! Also Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 with prices so low, it's like someone is trying to disrupt the market. The pricing kills everything. While heaping all the praise to the recent LeEco devices with stellar hardware and built quality, I for one will be the first to stay away from this trio. The main reason is the absence of the iconic 3.5 mm headphone audio jack and second being the lack of a memory expansion slot. With this trio of recent LeEco devices following digital audio transmission over USB Type-C ports incorporating CDLA tech, the lowest priced model Le 2 will have equivalent audio quality to the highest priced model Le Max 2 over the same headphone. This is a good for us end consumers but the problem lies thereafter. No matter how much LeEco touts about lossless digital audio through USB Type-C ports, the headphone speakers are analog in nature so there is a definite need to convert this digitally transmitted signal to analog audio signal for us to hear. Audiophile oriented smartphones like Vivo X5Max with its HiFi 2.0 audio architecture uses superlative in-built audio hardware to produce stellar sound quality through headphones. I own one of them. At first it bypasses the inbuilt crappy audio codec (digital to analog conversion) that comes default with every Snapdragon or MediaTek chipsets. Then the lossless digital audio from CPU goes straight through its sublime EES SABRE ES9018 discrete DAC for digital to analog conversion. Next in the audio path comes the exclusive use of ESS SABRE ES9601 operational amplifier to convert the analog current output from DAC to analog voltage output on which headphone speakers operate. And finally a high quality Texas Instruments OPA1612 headphone amplifier is used to pump up the volume, so as to simply plug in any audiophile grade in-ear headphones or ear buds and drive it to the maximum. But to drive audiophile headphones to maximum and then X5-Max's in-built audio hardware a lot power (watts) is required. It comes from the in-built battery of the phone through independent audio power supplies. Thus the output through 3.5mm female headphone jack of X5Max is analog in nature and you can plug in any headphones from Sennheiser, AKG, Audio-Technica, Shure, Grado, Sony, Koss with a 3.5m male audio jack. You do not have to worry about all the digital to analog conversion stuff as it is taken care inside the phone. For the new LeEco smartphones, they have opted to perform the digital to analog conversion and subsequent audio amplification outside their smartphones, which increases complications as adequate amounts of power needs to be channeled to the headphone along with the digital audio signal through USB Type-C port. Now the DAC and headphone amplifier needs to reside inside a special type of headphone. The additional hardware inside the headphones will gulp all the power in order to operate and then it will start converting the digital audio signal to analog audio on which headphone speakers operate and produce sound. And we have not yet touched topics like independent audio power supply of X5Max which will filter and distill the power from batteries and feed the hungry DACs and op-amps with stable, unadulterated and ripple free power to operate at maximum. Pick anyone of the LeEco devices and they will sound drastically different as the inbuilt DACs and operational amplifiers of each headphone brand will vary in quality and output. Which denotes the sound signature and tonality will also vary per headphone brand and type. On one hand you will get crappy sound with a compatible cheap headphone with Le Max 2 and then amazing sound quality if ever any audiophile headphone manufacturer in their wildest dreams thinks about making a LeEco compatible unit. In the end we are all drastically limited with the amount of headphones in offer from LeEco ecosystem and their availability. You can kiss goodbye to all your existing audiophile headphones. So as music lover current Le Eco devices are a no go for me. Next comes the topic of memory availability inside the phone. With tons of lossless audio FLAC files which are very big in size I need a minimum of 128 gigs to store my favorite songs. And the Le Max 2 only comes with 64 gigs internal (maybe around 55 gigs available) with no option from memory expansion. In the end even though I have my own share of regrets about the recent LeEco devices, I wish all the rest 90% of the smartphone buyers will be very happy with their products which have become icons for providing stellar quality smartphones at very aggressive prices in India. Cheers!!!

isn't it possible to place 2 USB-C ports on a phone? I mean, they could be on opposite sides, so, you could charge from either side and even ditch the 3.5 Jack? Totally unnecessary, but theoretically, shouldn't this setup consume less space than the standard 1 micro USB and 3.5 jack? Just open thoughts.
