  • I have used it in our company and private since january 2014 (over 2½ years). It has "blacked out"* twice, the first time was after a few months and the second time after about a year. Except this, the only problem is a rather weak Bluetooth transceiver. In our car, the phone has to be very close to the car radio, while my Cube Talk 7X tablet connects several meters from the car. The battery capacity is still very good, I only charge the phone once in 2 - 5 days, on the other hand, its primary use is as a mobile phone and, once in a while as a camera when my "real" camera is not around.

Then Digi said that number is invalid, but my sms is genuine, so they still charge me. The problem is i received sms from that things, it wasnt me to sent it. Have ur problem solved?   • hi.. i have the same issue with my software (rom) and i figure out how to solve them. - download flash tool v3.1344 - download stock ROM (can find in needrom.com) - download android usb driver (this is to detect your phone with PC without battery installed in phone. instruction : 1- install android usb driver 2- open flash tool 3- under scatter loading tab, choose .img file from stock rom folder 4- check DA DL ALL WITH CHECK SUM box 5- press firmware upgrade. (dont use other) 6- turn off phone, remove your battery. 7- connect phone to USB (make sure your ROM compatible with chipset, if not, new ROM cant be installed, mine MT5852, *flash tool v5 can show you your chipset version) 8- wait until green complete appear. 9- Done. my phone require to add Imei manually.If it not detecting network coverage with "red x" on your signal bar, you might have to install them manually as well. to check, Dail*#06#* your Imei number can be found behind the phone, under battery. Instruction to install to install IMEI : - open playstore - download mobileuncle mtk tool - open Mobile uncle app - choose Engineering mode --> Engineering Mode (MTK) --> connectivity "tab" --> CDS information --> radio information --> Phone 1 - put your first IMEI number AT +EGMR=1,7"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" (xxx is your IMEI number) - repeat for Phone 2 option and insert IMEI 2 Hope this will help *i've done this step and my phone work just fine.   • I don't know if my A850 has a custom rom or what... but it has spanish language, and the apps can easily be moved into sd card. Which, above all, can be used as default disk to install them. Plus, it came rooted sonce day one. And I have removed all the bloatware Telcel has piled in the smartphone. Using it for almost a year, having installed Fifa 14, GTA SA, PVZ 2, and a lot more, and no issues of memory running low. Pleas, if you don't know how to solve simple problems do not destroy a good smartphone by telling it is useless. Is the best I had so long. Even the GPS, which is crappy on almost every MT6XXX is functional.

It freezes. 2. i cant save addl apps or pictures as it keeps stating that "insufficient memory", when in fact i have only used 1/4 of the memory allocation. 3. Really a big hassle for a busy person like me, so i don't recommend it anymore.

  • Go to Settings, About phone, System Update. Before system update, move some files like pics or music to sd card. They might be erases during update. Latest software version is A850_Row_S128.

  • You need first to update your system software 3 or 4 times. Current version is A850_Row_S128. I assume your version is A850_Row_S124 or S125. Go to settings, go to About Phone and click System Update. Of course you need to connect to the internet. Please note before system update, you need transfer some files like pics or music to sd. They might be erased during system update.

  • You need to update system firmware to the latest version. I think your version is A850_ROW_S125. Latest version is already A850_ROW_S128. Then, you can download manage apps or apps2sd at google play. You can already transfer file from phone to sd.

After rooted, Battery life around 56-60 hours, 3 days 40-50% usage, chk email hourly, surf net, whatsapp, viber and sms text , only set task kill from the Lenovo internal app. Antutu score around 17000, smooth, camera 5MB ok, because I prefer DSLR camera.   • Better go for 850+. Why? The processor is octa core, although 2gb of internal memory, there's sd card slot and can install apps directly into the sd card WITHOUT rooting. The only drawbacks is the camera, other than that, the 850+ is awesome. Good battery too.

  • Make sure you set the ext storage as your pri storage in System Storage and double check with simple Apps installation(use file explorer to see where the Apps installed?) If it is installed in your ext storage sdcard then your ext>int is configured correctly. If otherwise, you need to reenable your ext>int again.

  • It has been two weeks using this phone.this is my opinion: Pro -primary camera are looking good on outdoor -the screen is fantastic.. It is so satisfying for a phablet tho -the sound, yeah its ok.. Quite clear.. -the battery calibration is so good.. It help recharge ur battery full.. -despite the aize.. Its quite light too... Cons -the secondary camera is worst enough...especially indoors.. -the size.. Its too big and i sometimes can lose my grip.. -the internal memory only support 2gb.. Which ia lame.. And you cant use sd card as default. But u can roo. All in all. Ithink its a good phone for those who are looking foor an affordable phablet.. This is the one.. But if u are looking for better camera,memory and sound. Go find other phone.. This is 50:50 phone..

Voice quality is worst, you will face disturbances coming when calling and talking with anyone. 2. you cannot call someone when you are on other call at the same time there is option to do that, niether there is any functionality for dialpad to change its settings for conference calling. 3. Lenovo customer support services are worst, i have called them on support number and they didn't even care they told me that we dont have service center in your city and can provide you with address of service center near your city. I mean WTF, you have to leave your work and have to go out of town just for this repairing. One thing i liked about is its customization lenovo did very well customization and haven't seen customization before in any other andriod phone. My rating - 2 star [DO NOT PURCHASE]

First the battery is ok. when im not using it the battery is still the same exaple 60%. every time i check it its still 60% because i dont use it. even if i sleep when i wake up the battery is still the same. I noticed today, every time i check my phone the battery is getting lower 1-3%. is it okay? i thought first its bec of the live wallpaper that i downloaded. i then not use it and change to static wallpaper. then its still the same the bat is getting lower. then i uninstall the wallpaper i thought maybe its bec of that. but then its still getting lower. when i charge it i always use the calibration. is it bad? and i charge it almost everyday bec at night im using it to watch or to play so its getting 15%. is it bad? to charge often? thank you.

  • This handset does not provide you feature to activate LED notification for all other things except calls and messages. So if i receive any email from gmail or a ping from whatsapp, it does not show LED notification. you have to unlock your handset and check it everytime. Battery Backup is about 16-17 hours for 2G and 12-13 hours for 3G. All other things are good in this. Internal memory though is 4 GB, it allows you to use only 2.1 GB of it. Sound quality and display clearity is good.

  • Hi,friends,I bought a 850 and now yesterday I received it.It isa good phone but I have a problem and don't know is it software or hardware.When I switch it on at the beginning the screen is dark-flashing and leaping with moving black lines.Then,after a minute,the screen gets clear and is ok.If I restart the phone everything is ok and no problem while booting.Problem appears only when I start the phone at a low temperature.When phone warms up everything is ok.Does anybody know what kind of problem is that.Please help me.

Mobile is really good at this price point.(12.5-13k max) About mobile: Display - 5.5 Incher, Quite decent, viewing angle is good. U will surely won't get disappointed..Visual treat when playing games and HD videos.. Performance - Quadcore Mediatek chipset MT6582+ 1GB RAM (Value for money) -- Really great performer.. Gives great experience while doing multiple tasks like gaming, chatting, calling and so on... No lag anytime so far.. Loudspeaker - Decent, u will surely don't miss a call and good for watching movies.. Audio: Earphone output is really bad (we need to buy a good headset); In call is clear and no issues.. Battery - 1.5 days backup for an average user with following settings: (3Gsim1+2Gsim2) -Data on; Brigtness level-1 ; Gaming-1-2 hrs; Calling 2g-3 hrs; surfing-3-4hrs; music-2hrs (to b short good battery) Camera - Don't expect much.. average for taking on the go snaps... Gaming - Played Temple Run2 and dead trigger-- worked flawlessly Video Playback: Played big files with 1080p, absolutely no jittering any where... Customised Lenovo UI is really good... Cons: -Bit heavy in hands (but surely usable) -No options to install apps in SD. (No updates from Lenovo) -No keypad light (really a drawback when using at night time) -Average camera (only 5MP + Front -VGA) -Headset is very bad provided in the box -No OTG support -No Magnetic Sensor (still v can live :) _ -Automatic brightness not working (might b a software bug..) Overall I will rate this prouct as 3.5/5 Go for it .. u will not get disappointed.

  • Boot to recovery mod (Search google how to do it).After that choos wipe data and cache and reboot your phone.It will work.

  • Don't confused. The phone has 4gb internal memory but only 2GB user available while the other 2GB are used for android OS and system apps. Same as phone equipped with 8GB internal memory that actually 6GB user available only.

  • Are you sure installing apps to external SD card because you might be confused that Android ICS and JB emulate internal memory to be SD Card as mount folder (sdcard0). Check in your file manager if your apps did actually installed on external SD by looking at folder device/extSdCard.

  • I have this phone for almost 2 weeks now, and I can say this is awsome phone for the money I paid, let me give the marks on a scale from 1 to 10: - build quality :9/10 - very good performance quick and fluid apps: 10/10 - screen resolution 8/10 (Personally I think is more than enough, good resolution great IPS colos and contrast, I`ve heard some people complaing about this. Folks, it`s quarter the price of a Samsung Note 2 did you expect fullHD? Resolution it`s ok. - camera: here comes the bad news: 5-6/10 . Camera is pretty bad both on photos and video... too much noise, no details ... don`t expect too much - battery is good 8/10 but lenovo would better made a 2500-3000mAh for this device. - no gaming review because I have no intention to use it for that. There`s one thing I don`t like: I can understand it has no Gorilla glass at this price, but I expected a harder plastic wrapping the screen, this soft plastic screen feels a little cheap. Overall I`m very pleased, I`ve bought it instead of a little tablet which fits my little bag, for internet acces both wifi and 3g. If you plan to buy it for everything else, plase reconsider.

  • this cellphone cannot directly save your downloaded application to the sd card. too slow as a quad core there promo girls and technicians here in cebu has poor knowledge on the functions of the cellular phone there promo girls and store outlets did not tell me that it cannot download and save application directly to your sd card in my opinion lenovo is concealing something from there buyers on the a850 model because i was careless in buying this lenovo unit to all future lenovo buyers beware.

  • Well mate, it's pretty easy to repartition the internal memory on mtk devices. I have a Lenovo A820 with the same 4GB ROM and my internal storage is now about 3.3GB, more than enough for apps. The only drawback (if I can call it a drawback)is that you have to set your SD card as default storage. But with a 16 or 32GB class 10 microSD... is it a drawback? Now i want to sell my A820 (it was a bargain anyway, i can easily get the full price I paid for it) and buy the A850, just because that hardware. qHD for a 5.5 IPS screen at that price isn't that bad :)

  • This phone's video recording SUCKS, when you choose HIGH (720p) or FINE (1080p) profile it basically just UP-SCALING what you see on the screen (960x540) and fit into 1280x720/1920x1080 video resolution. Which you will see "pixelised" effect on recorded HD video, it's not TRUE 720p/1080p, just UP-Scale something small into HD.

  • Anyway, I managed to move 3 apps to SD by using Mobogenie. Tweetcaster,K-9 Mail and WhatsApp. Better than nothing! :D

  • I am in Malaysia. Just bought this phone 2 days ago. What I like: Quad core.Fast with Antutu score of 16K+! Nice huge screen. Just great to read mails and some surfing.Easy on the eyes for sure. Google Play is available unlike some China versions ;) What I don't really like but ok: Screen resolution not that HD, but good on the eyes. Camera/pictures are just a okay. I am not a heavy camera user.Daylight sceneries are really acceptable. Indoors with flash.. don't bother too much. I have a better real camera for that! No compass, no orientation sensor, no gyroscope,no pressure sensor. If you can live without these, you're ok. I am not that comfortable with only 2GB memory onboard but I am not a heavy Google Play applications downloader. Yup, you can't app2sd applications to SDcard. For the time being I am ok with it. I only use Facebook, email(K9 mail), tweetcaster, whatsapp,greader and boat browser. Out of 2.11GB, I am left now with 1.40GB. Kinda okay for now. The other model that I was evaluating was the S820. Better features and spec but I picked A850 for its larger screen. So far I am pleased. My previous phone was a Sony Xperia Arc S.

Pros (Hardware): - Powerful 28nm quad-core processor MT6582"M" with underclocked GPU, M stands for MINIMUM I guess? - Antutu score 17066! - Can record upto 1080p video (slightly frame drops) - Can decode 2k video smooth using MX "software" decoder - 5.5" large screen, view angle OK, colour OK unlike Samsung's over saturated OLED. - Total RAM is 1.25GB, available RAM for user is x/973MB. - Cost only RM639 (~200USD) Cons: - Disgusting camera, too much noise, over "DE-noising" results detail lost, very poor in low light environment, Huawei Y300 is FAR MORE BETTER (my previous phone). - No button light, same like Lumia 520. - Only RED notification light. I buy this phone for its processor and huge screen, nothing more. I dislike the camera because they produce noisy, over de-noise, detail lost, darker and reddish image. I do not need full HD on my screen since I'm not gonna stick my face on the phone to looks for its pixels. As long as I can "See", that is fine. So far ok lah...China AP stock cost only RM479 without Google apps. But you can root it and install them yourself. ~ VERY CHEAP with high spec phone ~~~

  • I can see that lots of people are facing problems with preinstalled rom. In the Chinese rom there is no google paly and other G-apps. You will find lots of chinese apps also. But you can easily find lots of rom with multi language supported. For this you have to know how to install the rom.   • Should be able to when unlocked. Get someone root the phone and it takes a few minutes to do if you can't do it yourself. Try Utube, they show it how........ Without GooglePlay you are practically doomed !

  • You all bought the Chinese version. They don't have google playstore n all in Chinese as well. However starting from December they have international version with playstore already prestalled.
