beware of vodafone friends On 8th June my mobile was recharged with Rs. 999 for 1 year period but I was not able to make outgoing calls so I visited my account page on the net and discovered that My account was debited with Rs. 128.93 being the international roaming charges when I had visited USA during may 2019 So I made another recharge of Rs. 129 but still I was unable to make outgoing calls so I called vodafone customer care and the representative said you have recharged with unlimited plan and she had promised to convert the subsequent recharge of Rs. 129 into talk time within two days but even after 3 days I was not able to make outgoing calls so I visited vodafone store in thane and paid Rs. 145 as per the advise of vodafone representative and after that I was able to make outgoing calls. Since last few days whenever I make an outgoing call, at the end I get a pop up stating charges for that particular call and remaining balance. Today when I called your customer care I was informed that since you have made a recharge of Rs. 129 your earlier recharge of Rs. 999 has lapsed and you will not be able to avail any services under that plan as ANY SUBSEQUENT RECHARGES MAKES THE EARLIER RECHARGE REDUNDENT the same has been confirmed by vodafone through e mail received So for a debit balance of Rs. 129 so far I have paid Rs. 1273 (999+129+145 ) to vodafone and still I am not able to avail all the benefits under Rs. 999 recharge I request all dear friends to be very careful while dealing with vodafone

Worst worst worst- totally worst- Dont take Any connection of Vodafone- half of the Day Net mever work- 4G and 3G always seen but - if you check anything it never work. Made so many complaints to vodafone, TRAI, voda Senior manager and also ther people. Finally received a Mails from Mumbai Head Office - pls dont CC to TRAI, we will sort out the issue. finally they sent someone in my home to check the signals. Vodaphone could not care less about you ever. As a very long term customer, I found myself on the phone to renew my Sim only contract. It’s at this point I found out that i had an old sim contract for mobile broadband that had been running for years. Now as we all know you have to cancel this or the costs just keep on rolling, so after a short period of time I cancelled this line. but buyer beware Vodaphone did not cancel this agreement and I found out over the period of several years I have paid Vodaphone without being aware hundreds of pounds, This is now going to be a legal fight to get back this money, from a company that does not care about you as a customer. Their customer services are pointless , failing to cancel contracts or provide the most basic information, even when this breaks the telecommunications code of conduct. Also complaining to the CEO who has minions answering complaints from his office that actually do nothing but affirm their stance on the matter. Learn the word deadlock this is the name of the letter Vodaphone will have to send you when all your endeavours fail. Just before you enter any agreement with Vodaphone think of the worst pain you have ever experienced then x it by at least 10 and you will have an idea of how you will feel being a Vodaphone customer.

I have been a postpaid customer of vodafone red service in Mumbai and then as I shifted to Rajasthan I went to a vodafone store and selected a low cost data plan in may 2018.In the month of june, I received a bill for a new low cost plan which I paid after a due date with added extra charges. However by end of june, the service suddenly stopped without any intimation.Then after a few days, I received a call from the vodafone store owner that a bill of Rs 3500 is pending. I told I have already changed a plan and have paid the bill that I received thereafter. They did not send me the bill in my email but they sent their executive to my workplace who made a ruckus at my workplace saying a big bill is due from my side.I told them the bill you are saying has never been sent to me and I showed them the receipt of my last payment too so I am not going to pay the bill as its not my fault. Next month I again received a call from executive who for the first time sent me 3 bills at a time saying I have not paid these bills.I checked these bills and what I noticed was they charged me extra 250 Rs per month even with my suspended number.Finally I paid whole pending Rs 3900 bill online just to avoid their harassment at my workplace. Why I say that vodafone is the biggest cheater and looters, here are the reasons. They charged me a bill with 2 plans in same month one old plan and one new plan and did not show me a bill for 3 months. 2.They suspended all my services without intimating me or informing what the exact problem is. 3.Their so called recovery agents came at my workplace and created a ruckus about me not paying a bill. At that time I showed them the bill I received and the receipt of payment still they continued with their rhetoric. They sent me bills for 3 months together in my email which I saw for the first time in 3 months. In these bills, they charged me extra Rs 250 for every month even though my number was suspended. All this they did to a postpaid customer who was paying all the bills regularly. This was my experience with vodafone India and I would never recommend the vodafone store here or vodafone services for anybody. I am happy with Jio and Airtel prepaid services with just 150 Rs for 1.5 GB daily. I am sure vodafone will have to pack their bags soon from India with the kind of customer service they have.

I have had the worst experience with Vodafone. I have been using Vodafone for a long time and have been frustrated after i switched to billing. I was on their so called red plan which was supposed to be cheap wherein i was to get a bill of 500 for internet n unlimited calls. Only been with Vodafone for a week - not able to access or set up my on-line account as the wrong email was the 'Username' also they have two databases (one being C-Board/See-Board) and one wouldn't show my number while the other wouldn't show my account details. After speaking to the call-centre opps (four times) and two on-line 'Live' chats, still a problem and not able to set up or log in. Ask for PAK codes to move to EE. Phoned customer service for PAK codes, told have to go to the store to get them. At the store told have to phone customer service. ???? So, got the store to phone Vodafone customer service. One assistant couldn't handle Vodafone's own menu system, so gave up - got your store assistant manager to take over, he also had problems with Vodafone own call centre. in the end he spoken to 5 operators, and spent 45 mins on the phone. I was there for an hour to get PAK codes. It seems to be a problem that vodafone has two databases, and from reviewers who say they have been charged twice, the two databases could be why. Vodafone just have not got a system in place, and you will suffer if you go with them...

Stuck in the middle ages with Android 2.1 on this phone. No updates, so a lot of modern apps don't work. Small memory is another contributing factor to this. Physically small enough to fit in almost any pocket, which is convenient, but the small screen does make it difficult to see some apps properly. RunKeeper, for example, just fails miserably to display the Google Maps properly. Had it unlocked to work on Orange (EE) and it works just fine for that. Would definitely go for something a bit bigger next time.

The internet is way too slow,unless its facebook,accepts old android apps and incapable of vewing flash games. Its pretty good at vewing pictures and songs.The battery oveheats sometimes,so better be careful when using.To sum up, its pretty useless unless you want it for proffesional use.

I'm the proud owner of this phone and haven't had many problems, I got a 2 gb card so I could download apps and thats about it. The only problem is I cannot bluetooth songs to other people. Texting and calling works fine, android market is great. Camera is a bit annoying though, it takes a while to capture. Got it for christmas in 2010, and since then I have gone through a Laptop, A camera an iPod Touch, and this seems my longest techno thing standing. (:

Android keep message in internal system memory , which share from your application. If you have install many of software and run out of system memory, then u will not able to receive or send text. Reserve at lease 20mb for internal system use .

yo dude! if u r an exprienced android user, u'll notice that it gulps battery power real fast. that's y android market has numerous apps supposed to help u manage battery power consumption better. but believe it or not, they don't really help. i guess its coz, its multi-tasking capabilities make it a guzzler. good luck.

My post of 11th August 2011 - (green dislay & streaks). I had switched on the TV with which it shared a power point. A couple of days thereafter the screen went back to its normal state. About two weeks later, I was charging the phone on my laptop when I decided to run the laptop antivirus. Same streaks and discolouration as before appeared. For some reason I took off the battery for a couple of minutes and everything was normal when I put it back again. Still going string and great phone for me - (if only the battery life was better). Just thought I owed everyone feedback.

It does have radio. Mp3 player sound quality is super bad. Eats up battery pretty fast if you use more than the basic features. Very sturdy and good for the price however.

Hi bought this phone about 6 months back, after finding my way without a manual, found that the battery life is very poor need to charge almost everyday and when useing internet keep it connected to charger or battery will go to half charge in no time. It also stopped working while I was abroad recently but started to work again when I came back to the UK. The phone has not got a loud sound to it so difficult to hear it ringing if it is in my bag. All in all I would not recommend this phone. Spend a few more pounds on a branded make.

Pros Cheapest Android phone good response screen size is ok Cons Slow limited features not a screen to play game. Not so great memory, Angry bird runs slow. Not compatible to new Android OS. Talk time is not good enough. I calculated the talk time comes around 2 and half hour + another 20 hour or so in standby. I am ok with that except occassionaly it breaks down on the way.

I have problem on my screen. It looks like an alignment problem. 1st., I can't draw the pattern to unlock my phone. 2nd., Even though, I am able to unlock it (once in a blue moon type of thing), when I go to security and try to un-checked require to draw pattern to unlock the phone; I just can't because my whole screen alignment shifted a row down. Like when you clicking on the first row, the indicator will go one row down which is bad!!! Can somebody help? I have my phone less than a year and no warranty. =(

I have a vodafone 845 and yes having the same problem with the canvas, "(process android.process. launcher) has stopped unexpectedly". I did a update with some of the applications that I have and I think that one of them is faulty or infected. since then I have not been able to update my widgets and some now no longer work. I think that some needs to check those updates and see if their is a problem with some of them. My son and daughter have the same phones, same problems their too.

Ya i'd say you are right. I only had the phone three weeks. It is a very good budget handset. However, I have a problem with it. It's probably my fault for dropping it but everytime I wanna go back to the home screen after going into the file manager for example, the screen goes blank for a minute. Then this notice comes up 'Activity Canvas (in application canvas) is not responding' I have to press force close and the phone's home screen reloads again but then a minute or two later, the same problem occurs again. It's really annoying now. Any idea on what I need to do?

I made a call successfully this morning on my VF845 but as soon as I ended the call, the screen went blank. I can still receive calls and messages but of course I can't see the messages and can't make calls. I have tried taking out both the battery and sim card, but neither helps. Any suggestions? Please help! Before today, happy in every respect with the phone.

All the apps you can install is awesome, but personally if you want a phone to just talk and text, get a standard phone with a key pad. Phone lags badly now and then, reboots it's self sometimes and most anoying is the volume is way to low when at full, can hardly hear it when it's in my pocket.

There is a way around getting Vodafone Live on your 845. Go to this link: It will show you how to set up WAP on the 845 for Vodafone NZ customers only. Bear in mind that once you set it up, you still have to switch between browser VF Gateway and VF Live i.e. WAP. Unfortunately the 845 will not support Sky TV. The set up also has MMS Settings too.

Yes you can. Very limited stock available. Clicks is selling it for R690 [69 euro] Very decent phone for the price. The screen is a let down. install a custom rom and you are good to go. I must say there seems to be a very limited amount of stock available in South Africa. Ohh and its not network locked. Its against the law for phones to be network locked. So you will be able to use any network with it.

Ok, the good and bad about this phone. Good, build quality, metal front does not creak, better build than t-mobile pulse mini (same phone, except you lose the led flash, and gain an optical d button).. Audio very good. Nice customization with seven screens. Can have custom rom on it. Bad, does not seem to want to play many popular games, like angry birds, on SOME voda versions (software on ROM?). Screen poor, touch resistive, low res, not too bright. Slow interface, but android 2.1 There are worse phones around though, it's cute and fairly small, MEGA cheap too. But for me in this price band would go for ZTE Blade aka San Francisco.

Hi, any time you use bluetooth for sharing picx, musics or video, it will ask you for a password, and THAT IS NORMAL. this system uses which called = secure pair-devices. so if ask you forr a password, just type any 4 digits, for example type 1111, and then the other phone will ask for a password too, then type the same 1111, and THAT IS ALL. TYPE ANY 4 DIGITS (SHOULD BE THE SAME) IN BOTH DEVICES AND THAT IS ALL.

Had phone for 3 months. Paid $175 nzd. Vodafone was doing a promo at time so came with $100 call time. Good phone for price. Gps works quite well. Depending on usage I can get between 1 and 4 days out of battery. As for the camera it is on a par or slightly better than the Nokia 7320 I had. At the end of the day it's a good phone for what I paid for it.

Hi I had same prop. Credit being taken off me once I got this phone. Its android based so apps run in the background. I downloaded APN ON/OFF widget frm the market and problem solved. Switch it on when u goin on web if your not using WIFI, otherwise leave it off. U can still make calls, recieve/send MMS, and use wifi etc.

Huawei is a chinese company that manufactures various phone models including vodafone VF845 which is also called Huawei VF845 and it is also called "Joy" in some countries. The relationship between Huawei and Vodafone is that, Vodafone UK contracted Huawei to manufacture the phone model specifically for them and hence the vodafone logo. Vodafone UK has significant shareholding with Safaricom(K) and therefore Safaricom can sell the phone in Kenya using the same brand name. At least that is what i think.

Hi Zakmwash, I bought the Vodafone 845 from Safaricom in Nairobi, unlocked it ($19.95) and rooted it. The Safaricom version does NOT include the Market app which opens the doors up to all of the cool Android apps, thus the need to root it and install custom ROM. (Not hard at all)I had a completely open phone with Mr Edition Rom running 30 min after I got the unlock code. It is a very good phone with great capabilities. Just for the record, the reason for unlocking and custom ROM is that I travel between Kenya and the U.S.A. regularly and needed the ability to use it here in the U.S. too.

The phone is definately worth buying. The battery is just as good as any other full touch smart phone. Just be sure that on start-up to turn off all of the applications running in the background that you will not need at that time.

You must convert the .mp3 files to .amr. Inofficial upgrade is existing but its pre pre alpha, made by an individual. Processor, etc. of the 845 is not made for 2.2 and Huawei will never release a 2.2 upgrade they said. Sad... but there are so many great custom ROM's out there... no need for 2.2 :) Even App2SD is working

The phone really does not have 512 internal memory , i have mine for 3 weeks now and it shows 134mb , I have my pictures on my memory card . The battery last for half a day , whst the point of being able to play music , and go on to facebook , gmail , and the battery lasts only half a day most times less . Also the ear phones dont grip in the ear , and the sound amplification is a disaster .

Download the app Advanced Task Killer Free. The phone runs all the apps in the background so if u have been using it for a while you will have heaps open behind the scenes runing the battery dead. Once u get this app you can close all the background stuff. Before i got the app i was running my battery dry in half a day with heavy use. just got mine a few days ago. this is my first smart phone so i do not really have anything to compare it to. relatively easy to use. instruction manuals it came with didn't do much; then again it wasn't needed since you can pretty much figure everything out by tapping away. i'm used to seeing smart phones being bigger and wider, but this one is smaller. screen size is good. if you want a less bulky smart phone, this is probably your best bet. sound quality on mp3 is great, battery life is good; it lasts me a whole day (possibly a bit more) with my regular use. only downside is that i can't find any silicon protective slips for it yet. other than that, it works fabulous and i have not had a problem with it yet.

In New Zealand, this phone DOES have fm radio unlike stated in specs, phone lags a little and takes a little to get use to, but for the money ($200NZD) it's a bargin. Awesome buy for the money A++++.

I have one. It is geat! The battery lasts as long as any other smart phone with similar battery capacity. Simply close all the applications which are running in the background that you are not using. (When the phone is turned on, many applications are automatically turned on by default. Simply switch off the ones that you will not be using.)

I have to use a ball point pen to type without the ink part as its hard to get the letter to go right..sometimes gets the next letter.

Great phone, battery life seems pretty good to me compared to the old styled phones anyways. Sturdy construction, I dropped it from about eye level onto wooden foor and it did not damage. Back cover is hard to take off, which can be good or bad. Screen is a bit small to be a touchphone without stylus - typing is pretty annoying. But it has pretty much everything you'd need.

Battery is terrible. 2.5 hours GPS (perfect reception) and battery is dead. It takes 6 hours GPS to kill N97's battery. N97 is available at around 150 bucks on eBay.

Bought it in the U.S. 3 weeks ago. Love it! Disabling auto-sync has a big impact on extending battery life (10% power level drop vs. 30% drop overnight while I sleep).

Great phone at a great price. Have used other smartphones prior to using this one, I must say the shear availability of the Android Apps make this phone more powerful than any. As for the battery life, it all depends on the use of the extras - bluetooth, Wifi and GPS. The less you have running, the longer the battery life.

Phone works fine , battery does die down quick . But overall phone is good. On the first day it didnt send messages and i couldnt call for some reason. So i had to restart it. Slowly learning how to use this phone.Its still new in NZ so there arent many accessories for it like a proper vodafone 845 case.If anyone knows please let me know. Quite a light phone as well , might break if falls on a hard surface.

when selecting the song u are sending u have to hold press it and hold it down on the touchscreen. Only then will a window pop up to share.

YES, my phone is the same..i chrged it 3 times in a day when i got it trying out all the stuff on it..i am a lil disappointed now and i am looking the Google to try and sourse a longer battery life otherwise i might sell it and cut my losses...its a great phone otherwise but who designed a weak battery on it?

But i was trying to send my pic via bluetooth to this phone but it asks for password. I dont even have a password ? Would you know what i have to do. Usuyally in normal phones i had was to either accept or decline but this didnt have that option.

Hi, I have to admit the I am not a HEAVY cell phone user, but I am using it like the vast majorities, am charging the V845 once every 2 days, but one heavy use (like using GPS for 45min, more than 30min calls, email browsing 3G, Internet serving WiFi for 20 min) you need to charge it by the end of the day. some people said that the charge is different between plugging it into elec. socket or via USB, I use the last and have no problem. well, f you're a HEAVY cell user, or might be in Urge need for call and you're afraid of being with dead battery, my advise it to have a (Car 12V USB adapter), by that you'll charge it while you're navigating with GPS or listening to Music. The battery is Good man, I can't sad Perfect, but it is good.

I am trying out this new Vodafone 845 which i bought yesterday..you have to get used to its makeup as i havent tried a smartphone before but at $199 i thought it would save me saving a grand for the others around..for the price its quite good BUT i will say one thing against it and that is it drains the battery quite quickly..i charged it up twice yesterday but already its going to have to be charged again tonight even tho i havent used it that much..is there any heavier duty batteries that can be bought for it?

HI there, I've got this phone last Oct from Vodacom -Clicks store / South Africa with only R1299.00 = US$190.00. and IT IS IMAZING!!! and I mean it. I am Mobile phone expert, having my personal experience from Nokia -> Samsung -> Chinese Double-SIMs -> Motorola -> i Mates -> i Phones -> O2 and the VODAFONE 845. Frankly speaking this phone is MONEY WORTH 110%. The package is misleading, when you see a cheap box, and you'll never believe that this tiny silly box might include one of the V good quality mobile phone in comparison with it is price. all of the specific features (Blue-tooth, WiFi, A=GPS, Android) are working perfectly. even the battery life is good I am charging it full (Using my PC-USB port) and keep using for more than 40Hrs before it turns orange for the battery indicator. the home page interface is so wonderful, I've choose the weather-clock as a main (very good climate outlook), and then chose other 8 radial applications as short-cut. the sound s not very strong but who need a nosy phone these days, and it is up to the ring tone you've added, and you can up or down any ring tone before you use it (I am using a converter to change my mp3 rings volumes). the Android application is so cute, it is a bit slow but I am not n hurry. you can't not blame or critic this mobile phone by comparing it to i Phone (that is not fair), and to me this mobile phone it better than i Phone (if you consider the size and the prise) which is less than 25% of and decent i Phone mobile . the contact manager s great and you will be able to organize ring/photo per contact. the camera is very standard but it is fine if you compare it with the Motorola or Samsung's ones. the navigation button is one of the great features, but you have to adapt it in to low or normal sensitivity (not Hight) other wise you'll be flaying with the pages - funny. the office viewer is good - like Nokia's one, but if you want an Edit Edition you need to upgrade!! the micro-SD card application s so smart, and I have installed 8GB card with no problem at all. some great features I really Like it: 1- Stand bye (answer green , or Mute red). 2- Calculator: very smart when you rotate the phone when you can make a combined calculations like 12*25(23+5-9) \25 * 234 + (23*567) without the need to stop each time and add this and remove that. 3- many of the i Phone application are available for free at Android Market application. 4- File manager very similar to the OS Symbian ones. 5- Notification bar (top of the screen) for any issue (new sms, missed call, networks, connections, reminders, SD card updates ,,,,etc. 6- Radio and voice recorder are EXIST - who said it does not contain Radio - and working perfectly. 7- Zoom-in, Zoom-out home screen - a wonderful view to the home applications and time-effective shortcuts. 8- for Muslims, Athan application is working 100%. 9- A-GPS working even with the network switched off- but less accurate then. 10- on rotation most of the applications are working n rotating - wide screen - position, it is slow to rotate especially when you play Video but still not too bad. 11- No need for CD/DVD, the PC-SUITE is already included in the phone, and all what you need to do is to Plug it to the PC and follow the simple Installation instructions and that's it. 12- Works like MODEM,,, GREAAAAAAAAAAT feature if you are using SIM as 3G. By the way this phone does have a radio This phone is a very very good phone, let alone the cheap price. Most apps on the android market are supported, the camera is quite good and the WiFi and 3G Internet are great. Skype is not currently Supported (1St Nov. 2010)

I got one too, it has some shortcomings such as poor camera and basic LCD with a resistive touchscreen versus a capacitive but for a measly NZD$200 (US$120) it's worth every cent!

the phone is standard slow but if you root it and overclock it too 600mhz with a custom rom is a very fast phone (i ve done it)

The design is great, it does have a radio. However the battery life is poor since it doesn't close applications when you exit them, they keep running in the backround, you do get Task killers that you can download from android Market.

The guy from meru who couldnt get help from safcom customer care try typing these from your browser and download the install 1. 2. ­ 3. These are not the std android apps,they are third party apps but they will still offer the android apps experience currently lacking in the kenyan market. NB: you will have to check phone settings-applications-unknown sources and highlight. also safaricom live has some apps

Should I buy it. Can't afford SE X10 Mini Pro. Other option is old Samsung Star. Not a fan of LG/Nokia or Samsung. Is Vodaphone a reliable brand? Current phone is SE W850i, so I don't mind if screen resolution is not top class. Features sound good value for money. Pity no full review on GSM Arena.

for its price this phone packs a lot of features and punches above its category. the features sometimes do slow the processor though. in kenya the phone has no market app hence no android market apps here.all in all no major regrets

Boasts a great OS, Android 2.1, it has a nice CPU with 521 MHz, which it's not a speed demon, but it's ok for a �135 Smartphone. It's browser is awesome, i think it might be one of the fastest i ever tried on. GPS system is sometimes a lil slugish but nothing to worry about too much. Wifi doesn't always finds WPA2 networks... All in all, it's a very good product in what price concerns. That's my opinion.

Hi I bought my Voda 845 yesterday, and so far I love it!!! It has CPU 528Mhz ARMv6, same as in many HTCs. GPS and WI-FI works fine. The camera is good, even in darker places. The android 2.1 on this HW runs smoothly. The screen is good enough for the money. When looking at the price, the choice was clear. I spent about 145 Euro on this and I would spend easily over 400 on some HTC, or 700 on overpriced Iphone. I dont understand why so many ppl here speaks about it like about some cheap bullsh*t. Its really good phone for really great money.
