  • it was a great phone ,for the first 6 months .... i have been using this phone from 2013 :-) it was good to have this one till i change its display .....it cost me 4000 inr to change it ....after that this phone act crazy ....its home button doesnt work from that service ... its okay ...i had another phone ....so i used it as a secondary phone ,only for gaming and surfing .....but its not working properly now ....internal memmory full,restart wenever it wants ,some keys are not working ,no app can be updated ,very low memmory allocated for apps.....so its only watsapp that runing on this machine now ..ony thing i like about this phone is its battery ....but as a secondary phone it served three years ....stil working.....and that time span i had nexus,lg g2 nd lg g3 :-)all three phones dead ...but it still works ....i never buy a lenovo phone anymore bcoz of its poor service ..... :-)

  • I have the Lenovo for a year and a half now. It's been a thorn in my arse ever since I downloaded my third app. Battery is like N.Cage in "Gone in 60secs". Gaming is mission impossible. I can use the device for warming my hands in the cold winter. I would love to say that it is decent to give workers credit. But with a failed touchscreen and inavailability to make a simple phone call at times..or pick up one. Words are useless.

This is one of the worst phone you could buy, the first 1 year use the phone is running okay, but after that the phone repeatedly lag, this phone also has a lot of bugs for examples the alarm won't turn on even if i clicked turn on, keep closing application on itself even if i didn't use the whole RAM, and also some browser issues. Please don't waste your money on this

I bought memory card 8gb but why all my apps go to internal? I have no sufficient storage anymore.   • its good at first, already had this for almost a year. now I have a problem with charging. the S890 won't charge to 100%! My battery is 10%, charge for 3 hours, its only increase like 5%. I waited for another 3 hours, its only increase 2%. 6 hours and all I got is only 17%!! In my country, there's a community for S890 user, almost everyone got the same problem!

  • THE GOOD: (a) I like the quality of the pictures, especially the close-ups. (b) I've dropped it a number of times, and it's still functioning like it's brand new (good for clumsy people like me). (c) Fast browsing. Some of my friends are using Samsung and take a lot longer than me to get to a webpage. THE BAD: (a) Phone memory is small. Like, really. And somehow can't transfer certain apps to my SD card. Sometimes I have to manually clear data / cache to clear memory space, otherwise email service stops and the phone lags. (b) My phone has switched off and on again on its own a couple of times. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this. (c) Inconsistent in detecting GPS signal. Sometimes it takes ages. I have to drive quite a distance on the road before it actually kicks in and Waze starts to move. But there was one time I turned it on in court to give it time to buffer, and it detected the GPS signal right away (Waze started speaking in court - embarrassing much lol) (d) Doesn't sync with Google automatically. I have to manually update my Calendar and Contacts everyday. It synced automatically in the first few weeks then stopped syncing. Other than THE BAD mentioned above, I don't have much problems with it, and I actually think it's value for money. =D

Beautiful design, great resolution, picture and video quality is really awesome, performance is so great, no lags, no hanging, games like temple run2,contact killer, frontline commando,nfs,Nova etc playing very well. I'm personally experienced it, great brand value. One of the must considered quality is battery backup I uses daily 2hrs music, 4hrs internet, 2hrs calls, 1hr gaming, send sms upto 300through both online and offline it sill remains 20%of battery when i go to sleep. Only negative Mark is its weight little heavier. So friends who want to buy this or galaxy grand just go for lenovo s890. You will come to know my real experience. I hope my review will helps you.   • Hello, My S890 is not using Micro SIM as stated above. Just slot in the normal SIM card, no need to cut it. But I am not so sure if there are different specs for different regions.

  • hello guys... i just want to warn you about the "yellow tint/shade" on the bottom of the screen when the background is white, it is in fact a factory defect, you can immediately notice the yellow tint/shade by closer inspection of a unit before buying it. you better checked the unit you are about to receive before accepting it. healthy units don't have any type of discoloration on its screen. if your unit have discoloration you better replace it with a good one before your replacement warranty lapses. ps: any discoloration or yellow tint/shade may soon develop into a dead pixel! beware!!

  • I bought this nice-slim-hanheld. Later, ported it with LeWa Russian Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM. Run pretty smooth with native customizable launcher. No regret at all if compared with S Grand which has higher price. It has no hardware for compass, but I don't actually need it.   • Been using my Lenovo S890 for a month now and I can say I'm totally satisfied with the performance. The first one I bought got a dead pixel on the screen. After 3 days, I asked them to replace it and they did. After reading almost all of your opinions, I noticed you guys got that yellow tint at the bottom. Luckily, I don't have it in my unit. You could've asked them to replace the unit. You have 7 days replacement and 1 year warranty. So I guess, that will solve your problem guys. About the battery, I'm using the pre-installed Lenovo Power Saving application. You can choose different predefine settings. And another tip, if you're not using your mobile data, change you SIM1 signal to GSM instead of 3G. The camera, I can say it's good. I downloaded Camera360 and very satisfied with the results.

  • i don�t think you could just tweak the setting to change the radio protocol type. sim one is natively 3g/gsm whereas sim 2 is natively gsm only. I suppose they designed it that way for better battery management, I�ve been though 3 different brands/generations of dual sim android phones and all of them are like that.

  • Well I have been able to solve the problem myself immediately after posting my complaint, I continued tinkering with my unit and finally found the culprit to be the Easy Battery Saver app which kept adjusting my screen brightness to the dimmest setting�so I uninstalled it and my problem with brightness has been solved�turns out the said app is not compatible with the S890 unlike in my old A60�at least something I can share with the other s890 users�

I noticed that when I use an apostrophe in a text message (say I begin a message with "Let's meet later"), the character count immediately zooms down to 65; if I put the apostrophe near the end of the message (a single message) with say 25 characters left, suddenly my message is worth 3 SMS's and the count is down to 65 characters left!   • i bought this phone to replace my xperia arc s. camerawise, it holds up against its other 8mp counterparts. you just have to learn what to control and you'll be taking really clear photos in no time. battery life is amazing when put side by side with other smartphones. you can actually play a high video requirement game for 3 hours straight while listening to music and still have 60% battery life after. the drawback though is charging time which is around 4 hours. it also has small but really useful features that don't come with other phones such as swipe keyboard switching and the settings you can change from the thing you can pull from the top menu. i have no problems with performance although one time it kind of kept restarting. but that's gone now. earphones are no match to the sony's but that's a given. speaker is loud enough. screen is ok since it's already big. i don't really notice much of a difference with my friends' samsungs if you ask me. all in all i'm glad i bought it. i just think it would be much better if it was waterproof.

  • Im using this phone for a week and one problem i encountered is that everytime i open my messgages its always logs. Not smooth with the other application. You will wait for a few secs if you open a new message, then wait for another secs to send a message, then wait another secs to go back to inbox.

  • i've bought s890 yesterday at bandung-indonesia Rp.2.699.000 with bonus only flip cover, without micro SD or screenguard. after check with antutu benchmarck it's scored 6829 (above kindle fire or galaxy S). HSDPA network only at SIM1, which SIM2 only GPRS. i think it's good decision to distinguish the type of network, so the battery won't drain faster. it's installed with google play, so i can download apps easily. maybe for china market it is not pre-installed with google. -imho for battery only lasting for one day. but it's depends on what kind of apps you've installed, and how long you connect internet. (i've installed whatsapp, line, fb, seesmic, gmail and ymail that will drain battery faster). so far, i've no found problem with this device and satisfy that i bought the best value for money for android with RAM 1Gb and dual core 1.2.

  • Bought one in China around two weeks ago. Unfortunately the device had an operating system that prevented you to have a Google Sign-in and it had no Google Play Store! That was really poor for a lenovo device of this price. Is there a solution out there to this problem? There seems to be an in-built system that prevents you from opening Google Play even though you try to have it installed. Once you open it.. it seems to "force close" it. Not many people in China seem to be aware of the existence of the Google Play Store. They seem to be happy to crack on with things like baidu etc and these will never be worth a Google Play Store.

  • Hi all i bought this phone yesterday.so here i am posting my first impressions. display,sound quality is good. 1gb ram is good for playing games,multi tasking. battery is good - with 1.5hrs talking,1.5 hrs music i still has 70% charging available today. what i didnt like is phone body is very glossy&too soft...chances are good to slip from your hands. Bonus:Lenovo india shipped the phone with replacable flip cover of the same color as my phone(original back cover also provided inside the box) i am satisfied with the phone so far,i will post a detailed review after using it for one week.
