hi guys.. if your LG fanthom phone touch not working just do hard reset your phone by doing following method 1 open slider 2 hold FN key and 'c' key and press soft reset botton beside of usb/charger point, press 3 at a time for 3 seconds 3 it will restart ur phone and it will ask u to tab on screen.. even ur touch not working jus keep on pressing with touch pen.. some time it will work.. i jus done with it n my touch working smoothly now.. go ahead guys all the best :)

Its an excellant phone. Im using for past TWO years.Only the problem is i cant upgrade Windows OS,b'coz im not getting in india. I have been using this phone for about 3 years. I upgraded the software since then to VS750ZV7. Thereafter it is quite user friendly with 5 page menu layout. The touch is ok as it is resistive one but touch accuracy is far better than that of present day capacitive touch screen technology. In my opinion it is more reliable than present one as I have seen & heard of capacitive touch failing on some segment of the whole capacitive touch making the phone useless until & unless the screen is replaced. I wonder why companies have not come up with some hybrid technology design so as to increase reliability of the screen, as oncoming applications require reliable and accurate touch response specially for banking and similar sectors. This phone's screen is still responding well. Except the small display of 3.2" it is wonderful phone in respect of phone connectivity & internet surfing.I have been using UC browser on this phone enabling fast internet experience. Moreover with hardware keypad also, it is fantastic and rarely seen in present phones.

It's 2014 and let's see how my VS750 is keeping up. I am using this cell phone because I have access to a lot of DRM protected MP3 that I enjoy. The OS is Windows Mobile 6.5 and it's very easy to use. I just download the file to the microSD card and then open it with Windows Player; then I have to accept the DRM certificate; this only works with old Internet Explorer, so if you have latest Opera, just switch to Explorer to go through this step. Having a Windows cell phone is the only way of doing this with a hand held device. Many MP3 players support DRM protected files but they must be opened by a Windows Player using a real PC to create the certificate before being played by the mobile gear; with the VS750 this is not required. I loan music from Goethe Institute online library and this works just as if you borrow a CD and then return it. So, being a Linux guy, I can enjoy DRM protected MP3's on the go. Sound?. It's not Hi-Fi but very acceptable using a pair of AKG headphones. On the other hand, there is no way to read my Kindle books (the screen is too small, yes, but it's just perfect to have access to my Bible and other books when I have no other gear in my pocket). No Kindle app for Windows Mobile 6.5 because there is indeed no market place available as Windows closed all support to this OS. There is no other solution as Amazon Cloud Reader does not support Opera. So that's the price of having old Windows Technology. This is still a great phone but I will upgrade it soon just for the reasons above. Yet, Opera browser is modern and works pretty well... if only Amazon supported it.

by seeing reviews i got this phone but exactly after a year my set got hanged even after several time restart and reset iam unable to make calls, now iam using it as a camera. LG service center ppl too reject to service the phone. I have been through the comments are there seems to be a given common set of problems.. I used this phone from 2011-2012.. the solutions are here : 1. No, This set is not whatsapp compatible. 2. This phone cannot be upgraded from 6.5 to 7 or 7.5 3. You cannot use marketplace as the service is discontinued by Microsoft.

go to setting-personal-phone-network select cdma- go to - cdma services-gps- select by location-save & exit again go to network switch back to gsm mode download google maps or any other gps apps it wil work google map will take some time to connect, if it dosent work select manually and change com port to com 5 or com 4 in google map setting.. gps signalls are weak try it outside buildings if it doesnt work inside.. this it all what i know.. and it is working for me.. hopefully for u also..

Apparently Microsoft has stopped supporting all the old windows phone. So, if you reset your phone or trying adding new application to the device they don't get installed. Its better to use this phone for calling, emailing and surfing the net nothing more. You can't install the new application but, you might want to wait for the WM Apollo that works on 256 MB RAM and should be able to some cooked ROM's to update to WM7.5

Sumit Ji, for video playback "Core Player" & "TCPMP" are the best. For Gps based apps, "Gpsed" & "SportyPal" are the best. No need to configure Gps in apps, gps will be detected automatically by the application. For Games, Asaphalt4 HD Touch game WVGA, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Undercover, Spiderman Toxic City....all these games run without any issues on Fathom. For Chat, Palringo is best...but the biggest con in this app is it consumes battery a lot. :( "Evernote" application for storing your Notes, Audio Notes and Pictures is also supported but an older version only will work on Fathom. And do not forget to install the great SPB Shell V3.5...you will have a rich user experience after installing Spb Shell on Fathom. :) Hope this helps.

Sumit Ji, Gps will not only work with Google Maps but also with different sports applications like Gpsed, Sportypal etc. In such applications you can measure what distance have you completed, at what speed and calories you burnt, etc. I'm using Gps on my Fathom right form the purchase of this handset. I must say, all Fathom users must install apps which uses Gps and have the excellent experience. :)

sorry for you, i also ordered from naaptol, but god saved me, i was also afraid when i read naaptol review after placing order, by te way it dosent come with headset for anyone, only have usb charger with detacheble data cable, and 4 different plug. 1 cd and few booklet. mine is imported and supplied by enext to naaptol and they shiped it only.. what about yours, dont it had akansha distributors (enext.in) seal, is it new, working properly???..

its not te actual gps, but gives u location, switch back to cdma mode, go to gps in network option and select it " by location" switch back to gsm mode. download bing from microsoft not the bing for verizon, i am experimenting on many other option but nothing seems to work..

Dear Bhakti, it should not cost you above 5.5k approx. This handset is not available with retailers anywhere in India. You have to purchase it online. Make it sure that the handset should be Gsm unlocked. Basically it is a dual mode mobile and can be used with Cdma OR Gsm functionality. Most of the online sellers in India sell the Gsm unlocked version of LG Fathom. But still it will be better to confirm about the same from them before your final order. Otherwise it will be a big headache for you to unlock this device here in India. In all, it is a good handset except the outdated OS. But many old apps still available for Windows Mobile 6.5

As soon as I inserted the headset in the jack, the Auto Voice Dial program started and then the last dialed number too redialed itself and disconnected itself hundred times until I remove the jack of Nokia Headset from LG Fathom. Anyways, I already purchased LG compatible headsets from LG Service Centre and don't have any issues now. Friends, try posting / sharing as much as you can about LG Fathom. One more thing I want to share for those who got upset due to slow resistive touch of LG Fathom. Install SPB Shell v3.5.5.10106 on Fathom and your mobile will work like charm as good as compared to any Capacitive Touch Screen Mobile phone. :) I'm sure you will not regret installing SPB Shell on your mobile. It is as customizable as Android Phones and you will feel the difference yourself. Try googling about the version I mentioned above. :)

It seems you put some non-standard headset in your LG Fathom. This is a common issue with most of the LG Fathom. Many people worldwide suffered from this issue after inserting not-compatible headsets. Start your Media Player and play a song. Obviously you won't hear any sound. Now take a small pin (like allpin etc) and insert in the headphone jack of your mobile. Try moving / touching on inner metal panels multiple times. If you are lucky enough, then your problem will definitely get solved. I too faced the same problem and resolved it like this only. Actually when you connect the headset to your mobile phone jack, your mobile works in headset mode. As soon as you remove the headset, the mode should automatically reversed to PHONE MODE form Headset mode, which in your case did not worked. The inner pins of the jack get released as soon as you remove the headset pin. But in your and many other users case this does not happen due to inserting a non-compatible headset. There are 99% chances that your problem will get solved with pin method as I described above. If it won't then you will be left with no other option to replace the headphone jack of your mobile. Also I recommend all LG Fathom users to use only LG compatible headsets with your mobile. I purchased one wired headset which LG bundles with Optimus model. It is fully compatible with Fathom. Other options is to use Bluetooth headsets. Hope this helps. :)

you can purchase it , it is a good phone but some features may bother u such as gps.... it is limited to verizon mobiles.. and one more application named VZ Navigator is unusable but all except these are best apps ever i viewed in windows phone. it is completely a touch & type full qwerty phone with 3.2 MP camera but its camera quality is so good that it seems that you clicked your picture from a 5MP camera

LG VS750 Fathom I have always been using Windows Mobile right from its earlier primitive version to the last 6.5 till Microsoft decided to kill this OS. As usual I bought a new Samsung Focus working on the new WM 7.0 Operative System. Wow, the OS is really nice, it hardly crashes, the screen is very responsive (for this phone) & there is hardly any lag. But then, I like to tweak programs on my own and this OS does not allow anything on that. You have to do everything through Zune & thus it was of no use to me and I had to give it away. Thus, I bought a new LG Fathom VS750, which was available very cheap on Ebay, only condition was that it is Locked on Verizon network. This is a CDMA+GSM+3G phone with AGPS & 1.0GHZ processor & sliding Keyboard. I just bought it, though a few Unlockers were not able to help me with the unlock code on it. But, anyway I took the risk and bought it and was able to unlock it through Mr.Naresh Khatri ([email protected]) who was able to assist me with the unlock code within a few minutes. He charges about $15, which I paid through Ebay. Finally I paid much less than the Unlock phones available on Ebay. About LG VS750 Fathom: The phone is quite good, though nothing to crave about its beauty. What I am satisfied that it is very fast than my previous WM6.5 phone (though it is using the same operating system) because of the 1Ghz processor. All my previous applications which were very important to me are working perfect. Since I have done so much research and hours on this telephone I thought of penning down my experiences for others. Unlocking it: I have already covered. You will have to go to menu-personal and put the unlock code in the Sim unlock. It has to be a 8 digit code. Keyboard : Sliding Perfect, though I would like to have some extra keys without the Fn button. Screen & its Response : Okay, as it is resistive. It is quite dull in the sun. Speed: Quite Fast as it has a 1GHz processor. GPS : Since this is a Verizon phone everything is locked to Verizon and its software including the GPS port. . For the GPS to work you will have to go to menu-personal-cdma settings and make the GPS on �Location only�. It is originally set on �911�. Once you do that you can revert back to GSM/UTMS network. You will have to link one of the serial ports with the physical GPS port and you will need a Virtual Serial Port for that. You can find this software at (GPS Gate). You can use it free for 15 days and then you will have to pay to buy it. However, I can confirm that all GPS applications work perfectly well by changing the settings in CDMA + the GATE Software. Though this is supposed to be AGPS, the GPS takes some time for the Fix; I am not sure if this is a OS problem or because of the GATE. GPRS : I am using this phone on Vodafone (GSM) in Maharashtra (India) and the settings downloaded automatically and my internet applications are working perfectly well. Phone: I don�t have any complains about the voice quality and it is perfectly well. The supplied phone applet by LG / Verizon is really good. General : I am quite happy with the default starting screen as it gives me everything on a Touch. Camera : It is a 3.2 mega pixel camera without flash and I can say it is just average. Music & Speaker : Nothing to rave about, just okay. Radio : Not available Memory Card: One can use micro SD up 16GB. I am using a Transcend, Class 4, 16GB & it is working fine. 3G : I don�t have a 3G sim card yet and I have not tested it on 3G, though the phone is 3G capable. Gesture Controls: I really liked this control and one can go directly to any application with a finger gesture on the screen. Updates from LG : One can update to V7 through the LG website.

Yes it does have back light on Keyboard. Internet browsing is very interesting in this hand set. I am really impressed with this set. But at the beginning its bit difficult to learn how use properly because of window phone. Using system is not as Android phone. But its good and interesting to use window system in mobile . you feel as you are using computer. Really I mean it. Another new person can not even operate this phone easily.

You can set any mp3 as ringtone if they are under 700kb and put them inside /My Documents/My Ringtones folder. (Pls read the manual don't be lazy) It can play 720p HD with x264 as video codec and aac as audio with mp4 container. (most youtube 720p vids are recorded in this format) also if you use thirdparty player such as TCPMP, core player, divx player then normal SD avis with xvid n mp3 can be easily played. For tethering PDAnet is the only option (not the best) if you are not using verizon n using it as a unlocked GSM device.

Its touch experience is not much as it should be, and sometimes it feels 1gh processor is useless but it is great phone at this price range multitasking is easy and efficient it should have long battery life but its only 24 hrs with barely using for 1 hr....

Mike, I am using unlock LG Fathom in US on ATT and on T-Mobile (both GSM). Only when there is no GSM signal the phone is offering option to be switch into "Global mode" (i.e. from GSM only into CDMA & GSM mode). It works perfect.

I'm sorry, but this is incorrect. You can export/import WM Outlook contacts very easily using a host of small tools such as PPCPIMBackup. You can also use free utilities in conjunction with online services just like any other phone platform.

Ignore all the WM6.5 bashing that goes on. This phone is excellent! You are looking at probably the last great WM6.5 phone that will ever be made! Far superior to the disappointing HTC TouchPro2, this device features a 1GHz snapdragon and it is blazingly fast. Nothing seems to stretch it at all. If you are looking for a WM device, but don't like to compromise too much (like me) then this is on par with or above most midrange-to-highend Android handsets even in 2011. The handset itself feels very well built - I would describe it as 'solid'. It is not the prettiest phone perhaps, but nor is it ugly. It is compact and professional looking, while still offering you a decent 800x480 touchscreen. The keyboard slide action is smooth with no rocking action. The keyboard itself is good to use - the ONLY annoying thing is that the '.' symbol is accessed via the Fn key. A little strange, but not a deal breaker. A dedicated number row more than makes up for it. The dpad is also something that factored into my decision to buy this phone as it can be used for games and basic navigation. One small note on that - the d-pad is on the right. I am right handed and don't find this to be a problem, but I know most of us are used to having the d-pad on the left traditionally. There is an extendable stylus for the touchscreen neatly stowed away under the microSD slot. Unlike some other devices I've had, the stylus is SECURELY held in the slot. You need to want it out, in order to get it out! The call quality is clear and I have had not a single reception issue on Three UK even though the signal in my area is pretty poor. Browsing the internet on 3G is fast - wifi also works flawlessly. The camera is not amazing, but @ 3.2 megapixels it is adaquate and I have found pictures taken both inside and outside to be pretty clear. There are a couple of cons/niggles you should be aware of though. The pinnacle of Windows Mobile appears be long gone, as developers have flocked to the new platforms abandoning Nokia and WM. There is still support out there, but while WM was always streets ahead of other Mobile OSes in the past (again - with the possible exception of S60) a lot of the software available was developed for the older devices with for example, much lower screen resolutions. I have found out the hard way that Windows Mobile does not appear to know how to scale the content of many 320x240 applications - especially games - and this can be quite frustrating. This is pretty poor support on Microsofts part in my humble opinion. If though, you are interested in emulators, you will find this to be a good phone choice as it has the d-pad, the powerful CPU and the emulators are capable of screen stretching themselves. You can choose from systems such as Megadrive, SNES, Amiga, Playstation, ScummVM and more. There are also many newer games floating around which WILL benefit from this phone however and most normal applications/utilities work perfectly. Java extends your options - you can a pretty much full blown desktop compatible Java VM for Windows Mobile called JavaFX. JBed is also a really good choice and gives you access to the last decades worth of Java development. Basically, unlike iPhones and Android where you can be a little more sure that something is going to work - on Windows Mobile you still have a lot of choice, but just have to put that little bit of work in to try things for yourself. Sometimes you will be disappointed and other times you will be amazed! One final word of advice - I think you are going to want the V7 ROM update to get the best of this machine. Mine shipped with V4 and it was ok, but lacked threaded messaging and I just COULDN'T seem to get GPS to work. After I updated the ROM - perfect! Hope this helps somebody. I really did look at and compare a LOT of phones this year before settling on this one, so e-mail [email protected] if you would like some help making yours and I will try to advise. PS - I am not a phone professional, just a longterm Windows Mobile user

The specifications look fine, the OS is the just right. Windows 7 is a new area and not many apps run on it, which are already in the market. RAM and ROM at par. the keyboard looks good. LG has a reputation of making good phones. I do not know though why the Camera resolution is kept low and not more or at par the Android phones.
