Please tell me how do you downgrade with LG up tool to Oreo? Did you do Factory reset after downgrade or you just did it like an upgrade? Because I'm not satisfated with Oreo and I'm thinking to downgrade to Nougat stock. I don't now should I ipgrade to Pie because battery life is horrible. I also have H870 DSU HKG.

With Android Pie officially released for Canadian model H873 on Oct 23, 2019 you now should be able to get the update by connecting to the Internet (via WiFi or Data), go to Settings-->System-->Update Center and download/install the Pie Update. You can also use the link in the article below to download the firmware file and flash it to your LG H873.

It should work just fine, I get 4-5 hours of ON SCREEN time, and lasts me well throughout the day. I have been using this phone for more than a year, and have not really seen any deterioration of battery life coupled with upgrade. So either your battery is faulty, for which you should get a replacement and contact your seller. OR Check if there is any rogue application that is eating battery in the background.

I went to see an LG G6 model H870 today in a shop, everything seemed right but the drawings in the front sticker said 5.7 inch HD and I do know that the LG G6 has a QHD screen. Did anyone buy an LG G6 with its front sticker saying the same thing but the phone turn out to be genuine?

I just update my LG G6 870ds HKG to pie (LG UP metod) and here is my personal opinion: - activating battery save does not dime the screen like in oreo - the navigation bar in some black apps is white and is so enoing - lock screen looks so big and ugly and has som problems whit the swipe animation - my old themes does not work whit pie - benchmarking shows oreo faster then pie - the statusbar shortcuts luck so stupid whit the rownd icons like old ux so i downgrade to oreo and i`m so happy i did!

yes the pie update is on lg bridge but it has a problem, its downgrading your phone but not for all is that valable.

You must be using a different phone cos the screen is great and largely commented about such. The rear camera's are good, love the way it auto changes between normal and wide when zooming. As for the battery is spot on as expected. If used it wears down (gaming etc). Standby / less use gets 2 days easy for me. What's the problem? Sounds like your battery is old and overused.

Yes i have G600L model south korea and i got the update yesterday 7 October and everything works fine And the displays became amazingly crazy beautiful colours are so shiny like amoled and the contens became very sharp and clear like photos texts etc .... Everything works fine here and battery doing super fine since yesterday untill today still 66% Battery improvement 30% better ..... Camera also instant fast focus are incredibly noticeable i can say update with no worries at all ..... My only concern is where to find the dark mode icon lol

LG G6 ThinQ, especially Version H870DS+ (can be used Globally) with 128GB is excellent phone but held back by its aged Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. Personally I would recommend LG G7 ThinQ , only slightly higher pricing for good used and you get Snapdragon 845

Just got hold of my G6(4GB/64GB) today as I got a very good deal here in India. Initial impression is god but the phone keeps on restarting. I've updated all the apps and updates made available by LG including some system updates. Still the phone keeps on restarting without any apparent reasons. It also does not detect the home wifi router which my wife's Xperia R1(low specs but a wonderful phone) detects like a charm. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Done with LG phones, I've had a G3 and a G6 and both eventually showed down, started crashing and support dropped after a year and half, while others still received updates (Oneplus 3T/galaxy s7). The fingerprint button on my G6 eventually stopped working altogether. Had a GPad 8.3, only one that never had issues.

I would highly recommend the G6. Maybe I'm just bias because I have one myself but there are so many things better about it. Obviously it's a bit bigger (but thinner) but it is waterproof, will get Android 9, has OIS camera, has high end 2016 specs whereas the X Compact only has mid range 2016 specs, noticably bigger battery and lastly...the display. 720p vs 1440p....the G6 has 4.5x as many pixels :O

hello everyone ...i am using Lg G6 (indian) for 1 year. sharing the experience ....firstly camera is awesome......both .....daylight photography is mind blowing....i have compare it with Galaxy S6 ( wonderful camera at that time ) and Galaxy Note 8 ....the quality is at par with them.....guality is more than its price ...night shots are gud with manual mode.....now second thing its audio....i m using Soundmagic E50C ( higher impedence) earphones.....i can say the output is wonderful though e50c are midranger.......but i m ver disappoint with LG updates. No android pie till now.....no portrait mode till now( though I have recieved june update but only AI cam Mode is there) . ......and battery life is very very bad.....i have to charge my phone twice a day.....i request LG to increse the battery life ...nd give the updates on time spaecially portrait mode which are on 10 k mobiles.....and this is LG flagship.....come on LG

You cannot. You either have to pinch in/out or you can slide the camera shutter button left or right. Or simpler: you can just use the tree icons for normal/wide modes if you don't need to be precise.

I've had this phone for 2 years and I'm just gonna leave my listed opinions here for others to see: Pros: - Good Quality Dual rear cameras. Specially the wide since its a 120* wide camera. It takes decent shots at day but definitely not at night but the Manual mode is a great help to score amazing shots! - UI is easy. I've have no problems with the UI just that Apps just opens slow. - Screen looks like Oled. Great for movies too. Vibrant colors with Dolby Vision Enhancement. -Audio is Great! A reason why I chose this over S8 is because of audio. Quad DAC and the phones speaker is capable. Also has 3.5mm jack. -Audio recording is great! Concert Mode is useful! Calls too are Great as well. Cons: -Battery Life is average. I get 1-2 charge per day with this one but maybe because I use it always. -Selfie camera is sub par. Totally not a flagship camera. blurred and artificial Idk. In other words "crap". But the rear ones are good! -The phone just cant Play. games mostly lags. Idk since Snapdragon 821 is a capable processor. But it plays not heavy games fluidly with no problems at all. -Screen Burn-in is a nightmare. Avoid using too much white in this phone. It will leave traces on grey\blue backgrounds but can be remedied by using screen filters. The hassle is unavoidable. -The rear Cameras scratches easily! put a protector on it! These are some things that I experienced with this phone. Hope this could help others!

I bought my G6 last Dec and dev ice is great apart from the very disappointing photis taking. All the photos comes out with very poor contrast colors. They are not crisp and vivid and if foggy. Even at night with flash. I tried all settings and same result. Very disappointing with the camera taking photos

great phone with OK batt life and very very good camera performance on both normal and wide angle. How i wish the screen is bigger and also the speaker is louder. Spec wise may not be very impressive but still a very great device though compare to today's low & mid tiers. Sim tray is very very tricky as it's easily broken if handle carelessly. otherwise it's a great phone.

Only difference between G6 and G6+ is the storage. G6 = 32GB or 64GB depends where you live. G6+ = 128GB Thats it. Front camera is not that good by today's standard rear cam is amazing.

Yeah it's alright. I get about 5 hours screen on time. But one of the features of Android Pie is smarter battery usage so it should improve when it gets that update theoretically.

It depends on what you want in a phone. LG G6 is much more compact and usable with 1 hand, good build quality with IP rating and a very good screen with always on display. The Redmi Note 7 is a very good deal for the price but got a much larger screen. I am not familiar with Xiaomi at all so I don't know about the build quality or the feel in hands. I only know the G6 feels sturdy and strong.

Well the G6 has a slightly better processor which might make a marginal difference, but it also has a slightly bigger battery, higher resolution wide angle camera and is waterproof. So if they are both the approximate same price, I'd pick the G6, but if the V20 is significantly cheaper, then it might be a better deal if you're financially limited. But of course it's your choice.

Hm. This is realy anoying. Similar happened to me last year vaccation. Visiting Salzburg, 5 hr in rain. Soaked jacket. Phone in pocket, sometimes taking photo with wet hands. Then hunidity warning. And next day I charged in car usb. Phone hot like hell. Battrery lost 20% and car usb no more functional. Charging problems and humidity lasted for 5 days, with last day hot day on beach sweating palm..made humidity warning and usb making graohics like cable put in. I was ready to retur to shop. But I like LG. And think they did good job. So forgave this single issue. Mind you.. LG got factory in korea south. Who else can make phone in country with 25k$ GDP per person? :) Though I never swim with this phone, like I did with xperia z3 without problem.

I got my G6 two days ago so I can't speak much for screen retention, but personally I'd definitely go for the G6. The ultrawide camera on the V20 is only 8mp so don't expect to be zooming in. Plus the G6 has a (marginally) bigger battery, IP68 and a HDR display. But at the end of the day, you gotta make a decision based on your priorities. So good luck!

Got a new update today for my G6, its H870 model. Update is about 906MB in size, and only said that this will improve functioning of the device. Seems like a security patch only to me. Not seen any change in device since the update, no visual or functional improvement noticed yet. Will keep everyone posted if I find any improvement.

If u still having problems with storage move everything to SD card music, movie , pics, then In storage go to "Android/Data" if u have built up files up to 60 or 70 files Delete it, then some of the files only reappear the apps u downloaded trust if works.....

Good phone, unfortunately after getting the humidity alert a few days ago when trying to charge it(seem to get that a lot, since oreo update I think, going from a warm room to a cold room set it off, I charged it overnight and was woken up by the humidity alert), it then would not switch on or charge even if I try pressing the power button and volume down or plug it into charger Not happy, But lg uk has agreed to repair it

I'm sorry to hear this, this happens. On any brand. I had 3 different Sonys all with motherboard fails. My old XZ was in service center 3 times during the first week I had it. I know the frustration but it's not LG fualt. There is always phones with problems out there. And Sony is probably the worse brand if I'm going to be honest. Not just me but had friends that had thair phone on service alot and even people waiting in line at the service center all had Sony phones hahaha. Been trying out phones from all brands and LG is one of the most solid ones. But yeah I know it sucks. Can recommend Nokia, Motorola and xiaomi. They make excellent value phones. If you don't want to spend to much. Had an xiaomi a2 before or got stolen. Really good phone and camera was very close to iPhone X only that the phone cost nothing compared.

This phone has an excellent build quality, good and strong wifi and network connectivity. Snapdragon 821 still good and takes on many midrange and some flagships from example Nokia that have mediocre processors. Camera is really good and I got this for like 170 dollars and there is nothing that beats this if you don't go up around 400-500 price range. Phones don't get that much better anymore and this is how you know it. Probably the best phone LG released and becouse of the price rigth now it's a good idea to buy it.

The battery is too quick to drain. A full charge will only last me around 7 hours (playing NBA 2k for 1 hr and data connectivity usage with average of 3 hours). is there a way to fix this?

The sim card tray broke on its own for no reason in side the phone, while getting it of the phone it broke the sd card too, the the phone wont detect or read sd cards no matter what i did, tryed another one and another one no response, restarting and master restting didnt help either, i lost my sd card reading capapility. When turning to loud speaker when on a call, the other person cant hear me, but can hear me on the regular speaker. Latley while i was talking on the phone, it came too hot, and turned off on its own, tryed turning it on using power button, no response, tryed pluging it to charger also no luck, sent it to rpaire center, they turned it on, but when trying the phone, i cannot heare audio from the loud speaker, cranked the volum all the way up to the max, still no audio, but the audio work in the jeadphone jack. I called the repaire centre they said the mother board is damaged and need another one. In my country (lebanon) we have no wrranty, and repairing phones is so expensive. So Im left with a phone with no audio and no sd card.. Its my last lg phone.

LG new chocolate had a 21:9 screen already years ago that was mocked by many including me but now they have such small bezels it looks fine. G6 looks great I like they did not make the bezels on the front black like 99% of other phones only updated LG G6 did have it too. I like my G6 and also my Nokia 6.1 plus but good phones.

Well, I've had the G6 for the last 2 year as my personal phone and it've been great for me. Fast for email, efficient editing office documents, the camera is really good. Now it has been updated to Android O and it has become much better. The battery is lasting even more, I start the day with full battery and finish it with almost 30% of charge. The interface of the camera improves and other functions were added like the QLens. In summary, now, with the sufix Thinq, it has been the best phone i ever had and I don't have any plan in the near future to replace it.

Bought LG G6 brand new in the UK for £230 which is a great price for a yesteryear flagship handset. Very well built, reliable and fast despite comparatively low processor spec. Battery life is better than I expected, easily lasts a day with moderate use. I never had bluetooth and WiFi connection issues as experienced by some of the reviewers here. Also, it's schedule to get Android 9 which will prolong its life. The only disappointment is that the UK version doesn't feature wireless charging and neither is the newer G7. LG what were you thinking?

I don't have this phone, but a family member does. While setting it up for her, I found LG's version of Android to be the easiest and most useful, compared to Samsung and vanilla (because of this, I eventually got my own LG phone, a Stylus 3). Something I'm not a fan of is the hardware design. Glass looks nice, but it's really not a practical material for the exterior casing of an electronic device (I'd never buy a laptop with a glass shell). And I imagine this phone would be a headache to disassemble, which will be necessary at some point because all batteries fail eventually. In addition, while the display is crystal-clear, a resolution of 2880x1440 is excessive for a handheld device, in my opinion. From my own experience, 1280x720 is quite adequate for Web browsing and watching videos (perhaps not for 3D gaming or VR, but I don't use my phone for that). More pixels past a certain point, and you'll only increase power consumption.

Just tested the "water resistence" which is ip 68 but when I fully submerged it for around 2 seconds I got it back out of the water and the screen flickered and then turned off. The phone still works but the screen is probably water damaged but I will update this post if it starts working again after It will dry it overnight.

It mostly happens when when there is presence of moisture in the port which may cause short circuit. So let the phone dry fully b4 charging. Also keep the cable port free from moisture. If its not working keep in touch with service center.

G6 is still a great phone in 2019. I had to open up the phone to replace the headphone jack and I have to say the phone is very durable internally (unlike iPhones) and easy to replace parts. LG won me over by their phone durability and ease of fixing. Performance is good too if you spend a little time tweaking the software. Out of the box it might seem sluggish. But if you disable the unnecessary apps, install the Pixel launcher, speed up the animation in Developer Options, then it will feel snappy. There's also the Pixel Experience theme to make it look more like stock Android. Also install the ported Google Camera to get HDR+, the photo quality is superb.

I totaly disagree. I have G6+ 128GB HKG and works perfectly without any bug. Workmanship of frame and body is 100% perfect. Muuch much better than Sony and SonyEricsson which I got 2 or 3 devices under the guarantee because of bad quality. Splashes didn't get any problems ever. You guys have faulty phones or you have damaged them. This phone will be perfect if it would have better/ new architecture components and new camera modules. This phone in Optical marine blue color outshines almost every other phone on market. Maybe V30+ violet is pretier. Maroccan blue isn't.

I think gsm arena battery endurance tests are seriously inaccurate. They do not depict real life usage. I had a Galaxy note 4 before which gsm arena say has 88 hours rating. That phone had less than average battery life. I could only get max 4 hour screen time if i tried really hard by turning everything off and only basic facebook insta usage. This lg g6 now easily gives 6 hour SOT with playing heavy games like pubg. It also gives 8 hour SOT sometimes. And gsm arena only gave it 72 hour rating. I used to rely on their tests but now i cant trust it

It might be that your wifi connection is weak now and it dissconnects from it. Got to wifi and advanced settings. Select keep wifi on during screen off option . it may work

Last year I upgraded the OS to Oreo, since then... there is no more fingerprint feature. I think that the Android 8.0 of LG disable it and I can't turn it back to the original OS. The phone is still usable and run smoothly, but still feel like an incomplete phone since I cant use the fingerprint feature anymore.

hey there, it's been 1.5 year since I bouth my LG G6 and I was absolutely satisfied with its performance, until one week ago. Out of a sudden, the Wi-Fi connection started turn off by itself. All the time. I have already upgraded the software - did not work. Same story with reset to initial settings. Does anyone know what else could be? I am afraid that maybe is motherboard problem so I might have to start thinking of buying another device. For 1.5 years everything was absolutely perfect. Camera and screen the best on the martet (regarding G6 price), battery and sound at normal levels.

I have the G6+ of ROM 128GB the phone is very good but the charge goes off drastically whenever you hit the gallery, camera and any internet connecting activities. The 3300mAh seem to be totally incompatible or adequate for the phone. You better go for the other unless you are comfortable and sure of staying close to the outlet for the whole day

This has to be the least reliable and most buggy phone i have ever owned, it gives me moisture warnings despite not having been near any source of water and commonly just refuses to charge even without the moisture warning,it will even start charging then halfway through the night stop and just drain itself. The sound also has issues that require me to restart the device all the time. Don't buy this phone.

If i would guess, I'd say the size of the update is due to gathering all updates which were not given from previous months. I too have received something similar but close to 830mb on European version. Sadly, LG itself does not know which path to take... although they announced an LG software center for faster updates....and again fails to deliver, although they only have a hand of devices on the market. That's because of the sensor in front of the phone when it senses that the surrounding is dark it will adjust itself and make the display a bit low, but when it senses that the surrounding is bright it will adjust the display to a brighter one.

Pretty good phone for these money. Fits well in hand, looks pretty good, good camera at day time, fast enough and battery is good also. But there are some minuses also. Extremely bad frontal camera, quite dynamic, you wont see anything on your display in a sunny time, display cracked on both of my G6 phones during first months of usage (never cracked on G2 and G4). So this is a pretty good phone especially for his price and a very good phone if you are not planing to take a lot of selfies and listen to the music through your phone speakers.

Today mark my 1 year with the LG G6 and i have to say this phone is amazing. I fell bad for Samsung and Apple users who got their phones slown down, with LG it's truly not the case and particularly since Oreo the phone got faster and the UI animations got improved. The G6 is the good friend who will always stay with you no matter what but obviously it's not perfect. The battery life is a bit meh, i usually got 4-5h of screen usage but it's still better than my last phone (iPhone 6s) and the camera is not that good but I love the implementation of the wide angle camera. The things i love: -The screen is just amazing and super sharp compare to the iPhone one. -IP68 -Despite being a SD821 it's still super powerful, it launchs all my apps and games without problem and i never feel that it was slow. -The size is perfect, not too big and not too small. -The durability, it falls 4 times on the screen but never shattered and I'm using it without a case since the first day and it's still clean.

No. Don’t do it. I’ve had mine for 9 months and suddenly I couldn’t connect to my cell data or WiFi. After going to my cell store 4 times and my issue being seen by even the manager, they performed a warranty claim. JUST got the new phone LITERALLY a few hours ago and it no longer works, either. Same issues. Google data and WiFi connection issues and you will see this is a problem with this phone.

After two months, the screen broke completely, even with a screen protector. I did not even drop my phone. I could not text or call. I had a problem. This "military grade" phone, and the promotional videos all arround tht Internet, are a bleff. Yes, after 2 days of purchase, the camera cover glass shattered without any cause (no hit nor pressure at all). A quick search revealed that indeed lots of people are complaining their camera cover broken without cause. Of course LG pretend they don´t know about this flaw and denies to honor warranty because a "physical damage caused by user". Please don´t buy without researching about this in the net.

I have had this phone for almost a year. Like the camera a lot. Battery life is average. Had the sim tray problem - new one is supposed to be shipping from LG. LG won't supply the bootloader unlock code for this model, so keeping the OS updated will be impossible once LG drops support.

Only the North American variant (Canada/US) supports wireless charging. Select Asian markets (China/Korean, etc) have a Quad DAC but no wireless charging. Every other market does NOT have wireless charging or a Quad DAC.

Before Oreo i used to get almost( ~)4 to 4.5 hours of screen on time for average to heavy usage.But now.... After Oreo i am roughly getting 2 to 2.5 hours for the same usage pattern. My doubt is, is it supposed to be like that? Or am i the only person lucky to have this wonderful Oreo update? (I live in india , hence i am using LG H870DS). since the oreo update on my lg g6 indian version i am facing this stupid issue of charging. It some how detects moisture on my mobile and blocks the fast charging, this message appears and get away randomly. This definitely is a software bug as this issue started since i updated to oreo. i hope lg fixes this.

Yes. I've had no issues with it. Ive had Oreo 8.0 on it for the last 2 weeks and no issues. Its a great phone for me, ticks all the boxes I need for Camera, Video, Browsing, Music etc. It keeps giing down in price and I think is great value when stacked up against recent Mid Rangers.

Just under a year in and I am very happy with this phone, here is a breakdown of my experience with it. The 8 main things I really like about this phone are... - Wide Angle Camera. - Water and dust resistance (ip68). - Great Build Quality (MIL-STD-810G compliancy). - Flat Screen design. - High Quality Audio DAC. - Headphone Jack. - Extra Storage (SD card) support. - FM Radio built in. Design.... The screen is flat, not curved. I prefer flat screens as less prone to getting knocked and cracked and easier to put a glass screen protector on for extra protection. No camera bump on the back. Fingerprint Scanner / Power Button on back. 5.7” screen with an 18:9 Aspect Ratio. Height 148.9mm x 71.9mm width x 7.9mm depth, 163 gms weight. Glass back and front with a metal frame. Note: I have the Black one which has the top and bottom of the screen also black. Personally I like that look better when the phone is off as the whole screen looks black (Just a Personal Preference). Build Quality... I have a screen protector and a case on it. I have had one major drop drop from about 1.5 metres and no cracks or scratches so far. I put this down to the Great Build Quality (MIL-STD-810G compliancy and the phone having a non curved screen). The odd time I’ve got it wet in the rain, no issues, I’m sure the ip68 water and dust resistance helps here. Screen... Clear and bright, no issues in sunlight. Performance... Very quick and responsive. My main usage is Browsing, YouTube, Music, Camera (Still and Video) Messaging, Texting, Calling, Notes, Maps, Calendar and Email. No issues with any of these. Battery... Easily gets me through the day. Fast charging works well. Charges quickly to 90% then at normal charge speed for the last 10%. I charge it overnight. Note: There is no wireless charging on this model (64GB/4GB RAM with the High Quality Audio DAC). (Wireless charging is available on another model without the DAC). Camera... Photos and videos are great. Love the 2nd Camera Lens set up - the Wide Angle - I use this so many times in order to get everything I want in the photo. I’m not a big user of the Selfie Camera, the odd one I’ve taken looks fine to me. Music... The High Quality DAC really makes a difference when connecting up through the headphone jack. Bluetooth works fine on my Wireless headphones. Through the speaker is good, however not much bass. I have solved this by using the custom setting on the Equaliser and set the bass to maximum (I set the far left bands (16 and 230) to max. With this setting the speaker sounds great. (Through headphones I set the equaliser back to Normal setting otherwise it’s way to bassy). The FM Radio works great, nice interface. Storage... I took my 128GB SD Card from my old phone and put it in the G6 for all my music, photos and videos. I save all new music, photos and videos to the SD Card. If I ever do need more storage I’ll probably get a 256GB SD Card, although I can’t see the need for that for a couple of years at least. The 64GB in built storage I keep free for applications and everything else. No issues with either. In summary... A year on and I am very impressed. The G6 ticked so many boxes, a great device for my needs.

The G6 has never been the best in term of battery endurance but mine make 5h or 5h 30 and ends up with 15% with normal usage but i haven't seen a real change in battery life with Oreo.

i'm like a nomade i have all my data on my SD card and in the cloud so a factory reset is not an issu many user are complaining about battery life after updating their phone thats what i'm afreid of cause i hade another lg g6 ( refurbished ) but they didn't put the glue water resist glue and i used it in the watrer so the phone was capout but i reopen it cleand it and it tuned on at that time i applied the oreo update and yes the battery life was 3 to 4 hour max i don't know if it was the update or the water how killed my batterie

I'm on oreo but seriously you need to update, since oreo the user experience is way better than before. But first put all your stuffs like musics, photos and contacts on the cloud because sometimes you will need to make a factory reset like i did but you will not regret it. My G6 is the H870 but since the update via LG bridge is H873 like yours.

I'm glad that LG improved their UI since the Oreo update because on Nougat their UI was just Terrible!! I was obligated to use Evie or Nova launcher to make it a bit clean but since i've update to oreo i'm on their UI and it's very correct and smooth now.

I own LG G6 (H870) for almost a year now and had no problems with it so far. On 1st June it got Oreo update (8.0.0) and now works even smoother and faster than before. The only issue I noticed from the last update is battery life... I've uninstalled all battery draining apps and disabled running in background for some of them, but still, no significant effect. Otherwise, it's a great phone and my third LG in a row (had G3 and G5). I'm quite sure the next one will be LG as well.

Pls do not expect Oreo update any time in India. Difiency of LG kind of OEM's is driving sales of One plus phones in India. Buoyed by this One plus has announced their OP3/3T will get android P, wihch is a third major OS upgrade after Nougat and Oreo. LG exactly this opposite way, i.e., if they delay OS updates to old devices, their G7 will be sold. I am saying this practically as I am using LG G6 and One plus 5, both phones released around same time in India. LG G6 has not even received 7.1 update whereas OP 5 is on 8.1 and received so many updates. But once trust of customer is lost, it is difficult to build. Imagine V20 the first phone launched with Nougat in Sep 2016 is yet to get Oreo update in Aug 2018. No OS update in 2 years, horrible. If people like us can stop buying LG devices, may be then they realize their mistakes. God save LG mobiles in India.

Mine is h870s. No Oreo. Almost a year of use. Still works like the first day. I'm not a selfie user so average front cam is not problem for me. Main camera and wide angle are excellent. Performance is great. No complaints. So far no problems.

Sold my g6 after 5 months after a horrible experience with it, and now I have an s8, right out the box 2 os updates and security patches. So it depends wich brand you buy when you buy an old model I think... anyway the lg g6 seemed ok at the time, just to bad lg made it with older specs and zero aftersale-service. The device was premium but had to many little issues (if your volume is to high it cuts off the mic, so try calling with no sound...). Lg lost me and back to my old love

Bought this phone 5 months ago, it's still spotless, never been dropped before. This phone has a lot of issues. Vibration somehow stopped working (check yours now), the screen is ghosting ever so frequently. It hangs a lot, it doesn't perform like how a 4gigs ram phone should. The front camera is like a vga camera, images coming out so grainy. The wide angle camera is awful as well. The sim card/sd card tray is so fragile. Earphone jack doesn't work with all earphones. Very bad experience with this LG G6.

Bought an LG G6 last August. It's keeps notifying me about moisture in the USB port. Spent the last 4 days with Sprint customer service and LG customer service. Options were to drive an hour to Sprint repair, or upgrade to a new phone with an increase in monthly fee. LG customer service could repair it but without a phone for 2 weeks. Now the charger doesn't work to my phone. Sprint lied to me. Will never buy and LG phone again and switching providers

I have to add that the battery drains a lot faster than when I've updated it to Oreo. Perhaps they should release a patch soon otherwise I will have "1 battery day phone" which is inadmissible considering its 3300 mAh battery...LG, FIX IT!!!

Using LG-H870DS and running Oreo. It's a mid-range phone but it does everything I need it to, decent camera with wide angle lens,easy to use OS, decent music quality with earphones and nice screen size for watching videos. Only real downside is the battery life and occasionally lags, but I just restart the phone every once in awhile (I usually keep it on all the time).

Today 16/7/2018 in Czechia received sw update on LG6. Size cca 740MB. Change V20a ->V20b. Podle info z instalace jde mostly o camera UI and sw change. It truly looks quite different. There is some new function for low ligt photo. And some Jump-cut mode. For me most important-the cam stay in mode which I selected last time. Not going to basic every time. Super! Well,happy they removed mistake so quickly. My phone works no problem after installation. Should happen anything else? I dont belive all that crying "oh so slow, oh so poor battery, oh so blabla".

Install LG bridge on your computer and connect your G6 to get oreo its exactly what i did. After a factory reset the phone works super smoothly with new animations, love it.

Got this for only a few days, and I'm already having that issue without having any contact with water. Tried cleaning it with tissue, tissue with alcohol, thin paper (to check if there's lint), cleaning the cache, soft reset, using another cable... nothing worked. I was able to bypass the error by charging the phone while it's off. Worked twice so far, but it is a hassle. The seller where I bought this phone from said to try hard factory reset. I have nothing in it, so might as well try. Told myself I wouldn't buy another LG after my G4's bootloop issue, but I still gave it a shot. Wrong decision. Steer clear from LG phones.

I became interested in LG when I bought g2 and g4. But unfortunately, LG uses a non-quality glass for a camera lens that cuts off on the first day and lowers the quality of the photo and needs to be rescinded. I'm asking LG to use new Sony sensors on new phones, not the low-end models !!!! LG's next issue is its low-profile display and does not even have a black color. Even though LG itself is the manufacturer of the oled display.

I've just received the June Security Update 01.06.18 for my G600LR U+ Korean G6. The 600MB update included QLens (no AI CAM) and Super Bright Camera, add Google Assistant (I've no idea what but I've already had one and been using it). The Camera is now brighter in Auto Mode, which sometimes makes it better for indoors. This is also a drawbacks since there's more grain in the photos. You can also use MF in Auto rather than having to switch to Manual in previous version, just like V30. Also, I notice that the battery drains bit quicker. I first thought the update was for 8.1 but not. Finally, when restart, it's now LG G6 ThinQ (I can't add the photo). I've this phone for about half a year and I absolutely love it! Wide-angle is much better than tele, especially for scenery.

if you're not a gamer, go for the G6 - after the Oreo update battery life has been seriously improved and it can match OP5; if you, on the other hand, crave for last year CPU and don't care about IP68 & military standard (which G6 has) go for OP5; if you are a casual user who likes taking gorgeous landscapes pictures but also lacks 70$ :) go for the LG G6. Good luck in your decision!

if you would care to search the internet, Oreo is already out there, in Canada, Freedom Mobile..for over a month now; if you're on a different network then you should probably say some "nice words" to your provider: for sure he already has the update but it's suffering modifications based on your providers applications (basically junk to be inserted with the update) - good luck!

with factory reset...without it was a nightmare...also be sure to: - enter Settings - Battery; - you will see "battery usage" - there you will see "Google Play Services" - click it and disable from Exceptions which allows it to "run in the background"; - same applies to "Google Play Store" - disable it; - check all the other apps listed there to see which one has this "run in the background" activated and disable it. (this goes also for future apps that will be installed).

I have both and I can say that LG G6 is better. A5 is good but the camera and gaming experience is better than the G6 also I notice that the screen of A5 fails to recognize my sweaty or wet hands but the G6 has no problem reading it at all. I also prefer G6 screen I think A5's Super AMOLED is overrated.

A5's only advantage is the battery life witch is much better than G6's baterry. If you can get past that and those weird modification Lg made to android, G6 it's the better option. G6 has hdr screen, better CPU,usb 3.1 (A5 only has 2.0), better display resolution. Finally if specs does not matter either is a good choose.

If you would care to search LG post, you will discover that I already have Oreo update. The problem is that newer updates (no matter if they are security or software) are VERY HARD to come by. Latest info suggests that LG is releasing a new update every "203 days" give or take a week or 2 => LG Mobile is leaking money and they can only lie to their customers, G6 ones being among the top as they want to stop updating a device which is great for customers but not so great for their pockets (yea..they realise eventually that 821 was a bust and should have waited for the 835 for G6). Stop saving your credit cards in your mobile device - have the decency to realise what century you are living in. I do not expect to get Android P on my G6 as I suspect that after 8.1 (I hope to get at least that update as they kept commended themselves that it will get it) they will issue a pitiful press release saying that Lg G6 is too old to be updated to Android P. Just look at V20 and you will realise that it has the same OS since it was released (October 2016)..

I do not know if you have received 8.0 and I am yet to receive it. Still I am patient. I had been a frustrated one plus 5 user in last one year despite clean and fast oxygen OS, frequent updates including may 2018 security patch. There was a fraud transaction of $350 on my credit card and I cannot suspect my PC with enhanced security. I guess OP 5 may be responsible and we all know security flaw got fixed recently in OP 6 and OP5/5T is just receiving an update. At least with LG it is not like this and with Oreo LG added additional security feature and ofcourse one can unlock OP with photo also. Enjoy G6 rear camera, Quad DAC and waterproofing. I am expecting 8.1 and 9 to arrive by Sep and Dec.

Alright, time for a review. I got my Oreo update on 14th of June. I'll talk about my experience with the update after my main review. I have one statement about this phone: It works, it has features, it's beautiful, I like the phone. But even though I like it, I find the volume button placement annoying. I've used many phones, but the most recent was the LG G3, which time and time again I find myself going back to. The LG G3 has both the volume buttons and the power button at the back, but on the G6 the volume button was moved to the side, where I press it accidentally. The exclusion of a notification LED is pretty hard to get used to as well. Lemme list other minor negatives: Batterylife is so-so, and it can't be saved by a replaceable battery. The battery isn't great, and I have to charge it again mid-day... But the good thing is that it comes with a fast charger, which I much appreciate. The exclusion of the IR transmitter is a little annoying, at least for me, but since I don't use it much, it's fine. App management is a NIGHTMARE(haven't tried on oreo yet...). I can't sort apps by their size and manage the apps at the same time. Keyboard can only be customized by applying a theme to everything, and that goes the same for the navigation bar and the notification panel(In oreo, you get the choice to change navigation bar colors either black or white, but the rest is non-customizable..). Streaming music through Bluetooth has this minor problem where if I skip a song in Music, I can hear a noticeable pop. Home with drawer is ugly with all that unused space between apps. The camera is great, except for the front one.. That sucks. With all those out the way, time for the good stuff. As I briefly mentioned before, the camera is great, so great that it has sort of replaced my big Nikon D7100. The normal camera is really good and dynamic, and the wide angle is really convenient as well. I say more phone manufacturers should go wide angle. The design is beautiful.. Although truthfully I chose blue by accident. I was getting this phone, but black was unavailable, so I chose blue. And good thing I did. It looks magnificent. The completely flat front screen is also a good point for me since I'm one of those that want a screen protector on, but still want perfection. The fact that I can dual-window nost anything is amazing. There IS an audio jack; HiFi Dac is a good inclusion, good enough to cover the fact that I had to sacrifice wireless charging for it. For those that disagree, try the dac with high impediance device, and the ones I found to have these are the HyperX Cloud and the Bose QC25(QC35 works as well). With the right headset, you can get the best audio experience with very noticeable difference. Fingerprint is fast and convenient, and because of that, I couldn't go back to any phone with no fingerprint sensor. The Music app's custom equalizer is really easy to configure without fiddling around much. FM radio is also sweet, since I actually use it. That is about it.. Now for the very late Oreo update. Update took 7+ hours to download, and 1 hour to install. The changes that were noticeable were the design of many apps and the layout of settings and other apps. Batterylife haven't changed noticeably. Noticeable animation is when I connect the device to power, and it gives a little animation to show that it is charging. Other than the minor stuttering that went away with time, no performance issues either. The new animations forced me to change the animation speed in developer options. Overall, Oreo gives more functions and features that should've been included with Nougat. I'm happy with it.

LG G6 was a flagship, A8 is a mid range unit. Battery wise A8 wins as it has AMOLED display compared to LG's LCD. Other than that, any video review you would watch both phones perform similar but I think G6 has the better graphic GPU of the two. But, your question is a nonsense. Go to a store and feel both devices. Choose by what you feel, not by what you read.....

I have been on Oreo for 2 weeks now and here are my findings after the update: - yes, the battery has been improved (my personal opinion, at least 30% - I easily get 2 days before I need to recharge); I do not use FB, Instagram or any other power hungry app; just emails, lots of YouTube videos, messengers and camera. - for all those who are asking if there's any programmable feature on fingerprint button - THERE IS NOT! - many of the previous pre-loaded apps like LG Health have been removed (you can easily install them from Google Play if you want); - I have not discovered yet Picture in Picture feature (that is to be available in Oreo); - overall response feels better. I recommend Oreo although I expect a newer security update than the April one which came with Oreo update.

i update my lg g6 ds to oreo and is a horror os! what is not working on oreo: 1. adw launcher 2 is not on app scaling (navigation bar is not transparent) 2. color calibrator is not on app scaling and a lot of notifications poping and cant get rid of them 3. quick pik font is pink not white 4. stupid promts (turn on, turn off) etc. SO I DOWNGRADE TO NOUGAT SO HAPPY NOW!! LG: Learn from other companies. Increase the brightness in auto mode. Lower screen resolution for better battery life and performance. This high resolution in this size doesn't really add much benefit.

Phone is actually good, fast and snappy, after Oreo update even better, main camera good if you install google camera apk. Front camera/selfie sucks ass, worst selfie camera ever but with google camera apk you can pull some more details. IPS screen not bad, outdore on the sun you can actually see what you doing on the phone. No overheating like some people saying and again battery life is good i get sometimes 30-40h. V30 or V35 not worth of upgrade.

Had some bad days with it in the beginning. After 2 hard resets it is good. Battery is better then before. 4/5 hours sot. But it feels a bit slower and camera is not the same for me. So slow. And pictures are grainy. And the main problem I have is when a make a call it stops after about 1 min. Always. Every call. A bit annoying problem for a phone.

Install pi music player. You will get a decent music player with an equilizer that you can set to your taste. And I use a Sony headphone ( MDR-ZX310AP). The lg player-equilizer is to basic. And I dislike in-ear headphones.

So this happened to me today after oreo update. Phone powered off twice while in my pocket. Battery has full charge. First I tought it was something in my pocket but left it on my desk and after 45 min noticed it did it again. Powers off and just is dead. Needs reboot every time. Someone else with the same problem? I updated H870 yesterday via LG Bridge. Nice to get Android 8.0 but: - automatically wifi switch on/off doesn't work - picture in picture doesn't work - voLTE, Wi-Fi Calling don't work ( I know officially it need OS from network provider but other manufacturers can make it out of box without network provider modifications) - there is no promised Android 8.1 - there is no promised ThinkQ I didn't notice change in battery life, Mobile Internet works, WiFi works Whatever major features for 8.0 are automatically wifi and pip not implemented in this build

I will describe some of the tweaks needed to improve your battery after Oreo update: - enter Settings - Battery; - you will see "battery usage" - there you will see "Google Play Services" - click it and disable from Exceptions which allows it to "run in the background"; - same applies to "Google Play Store" - disable it; - check all the other apps listed there to see which one has this "run in the background" activated and disable it. (this goes also for future apps that will be installed). I've did a factory reset yesterday, charged my G6 full last night. I will come back with a future post regarding battery consumption. In future updates, LG should: - change the "green" applet of the call screen - green means ECO (at least in my opinion) but in a phone, any light color (except perhaps in devices with P-OLED or AMOLED screens) tend to consume the battery faster; - very annoying notifications when you activate Mobile Data "are you sure..."...come on LG, couldn't you have skipped this kind of notifications? are people not aware that they are activating their mobile connection?...also, when mobile data is turned off, if you enter Settings, you will see a colored yellow band saying "Mobile data is off" - for whom is that notification? And that notification remains there even if you have your WiFi turned on...very weird /strange /odd ; - the Settings menu is...more confusing than ever - if you want to change it for the better I agree, but like this...why not keep it simple? is it that difficult?; - that "Adaptive Icons" with white surrounding them is...very..white....white also a battery drainer - keep in mind that although the battery may be sufficient "on paper" reality after upgrading to Oreo is very different; - RAM management is a mess and I am afraid that if I open too many apps and leave them running in the background I will brick the phone...for real. With only 4 apps running I only have available 800 MB while prior to the update I have no issue whatsoever, meaning that I had more than 1.2-1.4 GB available and plenty of apps running in the background; - finally I think there is something wrong with automatic brightness - it does not work properly....I sometimes need to disable it and activating it again in order to get dimmer or lighter screen brightness - in Nougat I had no such problem and also this tends to decrease battery life because it's not working properly. I ask people from GSMARENA to review the LG G6 review after they've upgraded this device to Oreo and post their findings as well and compare all other findings people might find. Perhaps only then LG will make the proper correction and try to keep their decreasing customers happy.

I have observed on my previous devices that updating to a newer android version takes up more RAM and screws up the snappy performance and multi-tasking ability of the device. So this time I'm not going to update to Oreo. Oreo doesn't have any killer feature that would make me want to switch.

I believe owners should not ask or beg on various forums in regards to Oreo problems; they were generated by LG Mobile division; they had this device in testing for close to 6 months now and they still done it wrong. If they cannot do it correctly after all the complains they had maybe it would be best to exit this business and stop lying to their customers and continuing to provide faulty devices.

i did, and it.s been 3 days now, but the same problem, EVERYTHING else works fine, from camera to data and wifi. even vibrations. just the microphone, speaker, earpiece and bluetooth (when connected to speakers or headsets)

I can confirm your findings : since this morning, when I've updated the phone to Oreo, battery was 100% and now, after close to 8 hours, battery has drained 40%; I use Home&App drawer and it shows me, for that particular feature a 22% consumption - this is insane!!!; also RAM is way heavier as now I only have 700MB available while before the update I used to have 1.4 GB available. I also noticed that some feature, like round shape icons are missing from H870 (check YouTube for Oreo for G6 and there's a mini review there where the guy has that feature under display settings). I will try a factory reset this evening hoping that battery drain will disappear - if not...LG has failed again and it appears it's becoming a habit from which they cannot escape. If any of you have any other findings please post them to be aware to what's to come.

So after almost 24hours on oreo I noticed some things. Uses 20% more ram. On 7.0 I used 50 and now 70. Battery is also poorer. 1h30 of screen time and battery already at 40% (lost 60%). Face unlock works but is slow (2-3 sec). Some minor thing I dislike is the pictograms that are in a white thing that doesn't disapeare when I select original pictograms. Showes without in menu but are on the homescreen.

hi guys, need some help..i dropped my phone in a puddle on the road. back glass popped out a bit and water got to the camera and under the LCD, but after a couple of days, it went away by itself. but now, -the phone crashes with "System UI has stopped working" when I make outgoing or receive incoming calls. -Speakers and microphone doesn't work -Bluetooth file transfer is ok, but phone crashes with "System UI has stopped working" when I connect to a Bluetooth speaker -headphone jack is not working as well. don't know if this helps, but it happened after doing a factory reset. I tried to flash the Nougat firmware, still the same, then updated to Oreo, still the same. I don't know what else I can do...your inputs are super highly appreciated guys.

To be honest I'ld suggest you to take xiaomi or meizu, or just samsung s7 edge. You should check the antutu benchmark, wireless charge, DAC,... In my opinion, G serie isnt as good as V serie and soon be out of date. You can see till now V30 is still considered as the flagship while there is no G6 advertise on LG twitter. V35 will just be a minor update compares to V30.

Took nearly 1 hour for downloading the update. Download from LG Bridge is slow as hell. Overall took me more than 1 hour to fully update. After the update I reboot the phone and the speed is sweet. I let the easter egg of nougat and after update is still available in notification. It runs faster than 7.0 and camera looks good. I cant double tap the square button to fast active multiwindows. Quickmemo now can creat gif. The setting interface is complete change. Picture in picture doesnt work or I dont know how to use it with Youtube. I feel like this is just a minor update for G6.

Camera is by far worse, than I had in Nexus 5X. Both from picture quality in low light conditions and focusing speed. Fingerprint scanner is slow and not easy to find with a touch. But the worst thing is that the mic stops working during the call, so that the other side cant hear you. I notices the exact pattern: during the talk (regardless of the software used, phone, Viber, etc.) if the sound goes a bit louder on your side, i.e. you laugh or there was a noise on the street, the mic stops working. If you move the phone a bit away from you and proximity sensor detects the change and switches on the display, mic starts to work again and you can be heard on the other side again. This problem happens on new phone, which is very frustrating. Why we should them by a phone, if it can't even normally perform a call?! Phone went to service and the problem was not fixed so far.

Why o why LG wouldn't you learn from other manufacturer like apple and Samsung. Make auto brightness higher, even if it means lowering the resolution a bit to save batery. High resolution in this small screen doesn't add much benefit beside lowering battery life and slowing performance.

But why do you think they put it on sale? LG has not showed customers that they care for them.They have not updated unless they are forged to. I have budget Nokia phone with A.8.1 And that Oz is way better than 7.0.For example it shows battery status of my Bluetooth headsets. It is more fluid and battery lasts longer. In my opinion.The difference in A 8.1 ws 7.0 is more than from A6 to A7. Don't you think we should ask for the best for high end devices.(I also have new 65" lg Smart TV.Its the same there. If you have the money Buy the lg v30 or s9plus or the new oneplus 6. Otherwise if the choice is between the lg g6 or the samsung s7edge (best battery) or normal s7 buy the s7edge if you like the edge screen. Will do everything you want and has far better battery life. Specs are the same (ok g6 has the snapdragon 821 and usb-c and the s7edge the snapdragon 820 and old usb connection) but samsung is way better in updates and those little things you like on a phone (heart-beat sensor. Not something I use everyday but I miss it). The screen of the g6 is nice but in picturequality the samsungs are better. Choose wisely. Try them out in a shop and choose for yourself. My experiences with the samsung wasn't great but friends of me have those devices without any problems so I had bad luck.

Have the g6 now and had s7 edge and normal s7 in the past. S7 edge had amazing battery life in first few weeks but screen died on me after 3 weeks. Turned it in for a normal s7 (edge screen wasn't my thing). That s7 had a broken battery after 3 months and burned-in screen. So my personal experience with those samsungs isn't the best. (My old s5 was flawless for 2.5 years). The g6 has a nice screen and ok battery life. Still waiting for oreo. Call quality is average for me.I like the phone but wouldn't buy it now I know how lg treats there costumers with zero updates. Maybe look for the oneplus 6?

Just exchanged my LG G4 to LG G6. Why G6? Because it is now the cheapest 2017 flagship. I was a bit afraid of bad opinion here and there - especially that camera is worse than in G4. After 5 days with LG G6 I can say it's great. Absolutely the best phone at this price (300 EUR). Camera is better than G4 (especially in low light). Excellent display, better battery life...

Have average sot of 5.5 hours with youtube, internet, Facebook, instagram... On WIFI. on mobile internet the sot is 3 hours for me. Maybe bad reception in my area that causes this. But my old s7(edge) had same provider and sot was 7 to 8 hours on mobile (same for wifi). Is average but not the best.

As I've stated in me previous comments, I have yet to see any updates on my H870 despite the assurance of LG that "the update will arrive later this month" - month being April. Yes, they've released the update in their home country but I doubt that they need that much to accommodate the update or to test it again...or that their home country is on top for sales for this device; they have been testing this device since last year. Bottom line is that they failed again to deliver and I fear that G6 will only get to see no more than 8.1 (being enrolled into Google’s Android Enterprise Recommended program) as LG cannot deliver updates as they promised. I won't mention again how few updates this device is receiving as my devices is still on January security patches (I strongly believe that Google has released monthly updates and gave them to each manufacturer to implement them). Pity...

For people who read this review he clearly has a very faulty g6 as I have the g6 as I have mentioned in previous posts and it's excellent ok and it has excellent battery life and mine gives me about 5 hours SOT and I never struggle to get threw a day and I am a moderate to heavy user but my main phone is the U11 plus though but I do like my g6 alot and it has none of the issues that this person's phone has. There's nothing wrong with this phone it's a good all rounder but the person who posted this review should get there g6 fixed.

I've had the G6 since it came out. The battery life is horrible. I feel like I'm using a 50 dollar tablet..my phone dies within a few hours of no use (evem after I reset it, it still died very quickly.) When I'm using it I get maybe two hours of use at most. The sound quality is poor. The camera is grainy no matter what setting it's in. Even when I change the camera settings, it doesn't look any different. My long texts don't send for some reason on this phone. If I write a long text, it fails to send. I haven't had this issue with other phones. The lag is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if I'm checking my email or playing a game, it lags and freezes often. It gets worse when it's plugged in. Do not buy this phone! And do not trust the "professional" reviewers that show up when you search for lg g6 reviews! They haven't even used the phone, they just talk abiut how good the specs are! Ridiculous why Google even shows those as results. (and of course on top of all that, this phone is extremely expensive)

It's been a full day with the 8.0 update and I can say optimisation is great. After the update, the performance is rock solid...from temperature under load to battery life and ram management.Ithe phone is now stone cold even under average to heavy load. I guess 8.1 or Android P will be like a dream. To bad we will never find out on a G6. I was on the verge of ditching this phone but now I might keep it for a while longer. Huge performance increase but no thanks to LG Android 8 just rocks. If anything LG just kept it away from us for so long

Hello. Firstly. Salute and my respect to gsmarena team. You are doing great job. I purchased g6 in czech alza 2 months ago. Went for option 60 days for return. Paid extra 5% of phone price for that. Why? Because someone's opinions on this web about battery,cam,boot, and other bla bla. I don't return G6. Instead love it. Got 2.01mm wide. The photos fully comply with gsmarena review. May look bit less sharp. But when standing same distance only. Shure same 13M takes more area photo. When same area, photos are same lovely. Only curved. Normal (no wide) camera don't bent corners like sony, which is for me definite. Colors are almost perfect for me. Are bit stronger that reality. But better than Samsung or iPhone overcooked and overlighted photos, to which I started to be alergic, because are too far from reality. I think in evening photo should look like evening,not like day. Must name Sony for my best colors, but as noted in every review, that happens only at perfect light, in all other situation Sony damaged so many family memories. My objections to G6 cam are only:I work in automotive, so 1. prefer lenses in corner to get to narrow places of car taking pictures of parts. 2. Cam doesnt have torch option like sony, but only flash. Still G6 manages to adjust intensity and bring ok photo. Sony would be burned totals.3. Photo of car cluster rarely comes focused. Cam instead focuses on the covering glass. But I guess most phones are fooled by that. Camera UI of LG is best. Sony made me lot of pain with that swipe to get video. Samsung was good. That some saying worst battery life on earth is not my case. Normaly I finish first day with 55-70%. Most consuming appears to be camera. Other things consumption are somehow greatly managed like I never seen even on Sony. Well maybe Sony last more years with same performance, needing restart maybe every 2 years. But this is my first LG,so I will see. My Samsung s5mini was different story, finally after 25months loosing signal 4hrs a day while still displaying full signal. What else? Display is good. Sony has white white. G6 white is creamy. But I don't mind now. Somehow it makes me feel warmer. Full sun reading is no problem. I'm surprised. S5 mini after update went stupid at auto brightness and went total dark at full sun or firing that boost which is super visible but horrible. And I got tired of amoled superstrong colors. UI of G6 now my love. Sony is so cold,but samurai for work,that's right. Samsung so annoying. G6 calendar is very good. I even stopped using Google calendar,which is very good too. And there is many other small things on LG which are not too naked android, neighter too much. I don't like searching and downloading apps. Now am perfectly happy with most what I got on G6. Only am not sure about Evernote,which is integrated. Maybe I have to learn how to use. But until now am fine with LG calendar and task management. LG keyboard has great functions. Only Czech words dictionary is bit small,while learning is slow in Czech and English. How many times I had to type GDi to made it first option? I did 30 times maybe but still LG changes for 'his'. But was it different on Sony or Samsung? I don't know,because I ended with auto words off there. On LG you put finger on space bar and move to side to get to proper place of word. Wonderful. How many times I was swearing trying to hit beginning of word etc. My big pain was alarm. I miss so much Samsung angel feather style soft alarm. But recorded through Mic and somehow has similar experience now. But still would prefer if LG cared about this for customers happiness. On other hand LG can close all oncoming alarm at any moment with one press. So my backup alarms dont make me look silly at work. Loudspeaker is as said in gsmarena review. What they mean by distortion at full volume is not speaker mechanic craziness,but Koreans probably adjusted sound electronically,so you hear full volume,but some parts are limited and this makes somehow flatter,but not annoying music. Generally,speaker is so loud,I mostly play music at around 80%. Yes. Front camera is not very good. But I dont use this function except video call. So I don't care. Scratching of rear camera didnt happen to me. Face recognition works. Bit slowly,but I think I would be dead if unlocking with any blink of eye on display. And yes. LG health I prefer over Samsung. Despite Samsung counting more steps (two phones in pocket). And I like the drink water reminder. So on Saturday night know how much should I drink extra:) to be healthy. I think possibly many of that bad reviews could be faked by competition dealers. Why? Because G6 is so good.

Awesome Camera performance?? i bought this phone today mainly because of that so called good camera. and im so disapointed. low light performance (main and wide angle camera) is so bad. my old phone was 2015 LG G4, and that 3 year old had a better camera than this "awesome camera performance". LG fooled me 2 times so far - first one with G4 bootlooping and now this one - camera is just bad compare to some old phones from a few years back. shame on LG

To be honest. Have a g6 now and before the s7 and s7 edge. S7 edge has best battery life. S7 best size. Both vivid screens in color. The g6 has the worst battery life of the 3. Screen is ok. Sun light doesn't make things better. However in theory the g6 will receive the most updates of android (oreo still a no go 4 the moment). And s7 (edge) will not get one after oreo. They perform the same in games. Want a samsung? Buy a s8 or even an s9. Want an lg? Buy the v30 or wait a bit for the g7. Will give you the most for your money in terms of lifetime and updates in the future. 2 years is a long time for a phone so better buy the best now and have a good phone for 2 years then buying an old phone and be forces to buy a new 1 in a year because it's to slow. My humble opinion. Choose wisely

im sorry but they are bad with that g4 was flagship and never got it, lg v10 never got it but the T-Mobile variant 7.0, I have a g5 and it seems that ill die with f***g nougat which seems to be buggy and I wont have oreo because at this point lg g6 / lg v20 has not received the update yet so bad news for my g5 ... android p is at the corner and when ever it rolls out it will be late for my g5 and if that happens I ll never even again buy another lg phone I could understand it because of boot loop but no with sd820 which is equal to g6 sd821

Hi. I've recently started facing a reboot issue on my LG G6. This has started after I received the March update. The frequency of the restart is increasing by the day. I've also notice today that when on AOD screen the double tap or swipe is not working. This usually allowed me to enter my PIN to unlock but right now I can only unlock using fingerprint. The face recognition is also not responding well. Is this a problem that a lot of users are facing? Is there a solution without doing a factory reset? Can any one suggest something? Before you start cheering up LG for their move you'd have to consider that until today, they have done nothing. Everyone knows that they leaked pictures last year saying that G6 is being tested for Oreo in China - which makes G6 the most tested Oreo device in history: did anyone received anything: NO! Just few days ago I've read that LG has also skipped few security updates (3-4), which are monthly released by Google, but LG disregarded them as they considered that they are not that important to us, the faithful LG customers, for them we are only money bags. How are the owners of LG V20 feeling when they had ZERO updates (18 months since that device was released - the first ever with Nougat) and now its time is almost over. Yea....think twice before cheering LG for something they have yet to accomplish. And also, I strongly believe that LG will not release any updates "later this month".

The camera and video quality on the U11 is excellent and audio is really very good also and I would recommend the U11 over the g6 but if you like lg phones then go for the g6 but I personally think the U11 is a excellent phone. I bought my U11 in June last year and I have had no problems with it at all and it does everything I want it to without any issues :)

I have a g6 myself and a htc u11 and I admit the U11 beats the g6 in every way except screen size and always on display of the g6 so I would say if you is interested in the U11 then go for it but if you want a big screen and always on display then buy the g6. My U11 is my daily driver whilst my g6 is merely my back up phone now but I think my next phone will be the HTC u11 plus but I do like the v30 but the single speaker of the v30 isn't good enough compared to HTC phones.

How do you mean? The phones that are the same in specs or price? It was released as an answer to the s8 but has a bit better spec then the s7. Screenwise the amoleds of the Samsung phone are better but personaly I dislike those because of the possible burn-in (what I had on my s7) and my eyes were tired an feeled burned after a while looking to those screens because the're to bright for me. So the screen of the g6 is far better for me. I think you can find phones that are the same in price or in specs, but best is don't read too much reviews and go to a shop and play around with them. When it has 4 gig of ram and a processor of the latest 2 years it will be fine for day to day use. However if you need a phone that has the best of everything to show off with, look at a s9 or iphone x or even a v30. Phones that cost twice then this phone, everything has a price, personaly to much for that small noticable diffrence in usage. If an app opens up 0,0001 sec faster on those I don't care much. Camera whise it also personal, best camera I had was on the s7 or even the s5. G6 is a 8/10 whike the s7 was a solid 9/10 for the camera. Small diffrence maybe due to software. Look at the v30, solid phone that has great reviews but as usual no-one wants it because its not a samsung or iphone. Same with the g6. Those huawei phones look good but I have zero experience with them so no opinion.

XZ1 Compact or G6? Both ~same prices, but XZ1C has an SD835 and would probably fit better in my hand. However G6 has the better camera and much better community support (custom ROMs, root) which I'll definitely use, coming from a Nexus 5x. from where I see it, LG is in "denial" when it comes to G6 news: - we know that it has been introduced in Google Enterprise Program and it will get Oreo 8.1 "soon" - this could be, in relative terms, 3 years from now; - we could speculate that, while developing Oreo for G6 they discovered that it was a huge mistake to insert 821 chip into this device because future updates are impossible or they will "brick" the device; - or, although Oreo is feasible for the G6, nu future updates are possible, which will make LG a huge liar because they promised 2 version of android, in terms of updates; Or, LG is simply trying to get out of the mobile business due to lack of innovation or people to develop their software updates. Basically your question has no answer...not even LG can answer it...they don't know what to answer!

I had the same problem. After the V10u-IND-xx Jan patch, my phone became slow, especially the phone dialer. almost unusable. Did a factory reset and everything started working fine. Try it out.

Concerning G6 I have to admit that it had its share of accidental drops but so far not a single scratch. I admit, I've applied an Alien Surface wrap (it's a self healing screen protector) and I have a Spigen cover. Regarding Mi Mix 2..not a clue, you'll have to search on google or some forums about its durability "drops". I'm sure you'll make the right choice (no matter which device you'll choose).

Thank you for the respons! My main concern is with the fragil construction of the Mix 2 (the g6 seems alot sturdier), but the front of the device is just tempting me. Updates are not something that is bodering me, as I see it the software on the G6 is good enough even without oreo update. In the end i would say, the question is: Will the Mi Mix 2 survive the ocasional fall on the ground?

Verbally we can recommend anything. You have to hold them in your hand and see their interfaces to get a proper impression. I do not know how Xiaomi updates are, but me, as an G6 owner, updates are from worse to terrible. I will probably offend some of the people reading this but today I had on online chat with LG support regarding Oreo update and they told me that they only receive memos and notifications, they are not allowed to ask "mother company" anything, especially related to G6. Basically LG is trying to get rid of all those faithful clients or trying to get out of mobile business...take your pick.

Camera glass is bad,after 4 monts of use,it looks terrible. Glass on the back of the phone is perfect,I dont understand way is this happened. Same thing is happened on my friends G6,so this is not and isolate situation.

Seriously i'm surprised by my G6!! Yesterday i accidentally drop it from 1,5 meter to the ground (bricks) and it drop on its face i was sure that i broke my screen. When i took back the phone with eyes full of tears (lol) i realized that there was nothing on the screen not even a scratch.... And for those who where saying that the glass lens was fragile the answer is No (On my G6). Proved.

I don't own one of these phones, but I am trained on how to perform repairs and refurbishment on this model of phone. These things are not the greatest, and there are certainly better phones on the market in this same price range. The cameras are similar to the ones on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but not quite as good. As far as repair and refurb goes, they have their pros and cons. Back covers remove easily enough, but a total rebuild requires quite a few parts, including conductive tapes for the various system components. Personally, I think they're an okay phone, but they are not worth the $700+ dollar price tag LG slapped on them. Being fair about it, Samsung S8, S8+, and Note8 phones aren't worth it either.

It's a nice phone with good looks and a nice feel. Signal is good, good resilient build. Battery life decent. Heats a lot during streaming and music. Overall, apart from some minor design issues, a good phone. Only one bad bad thing about it. The camera is an absolute disaster. One of nuclear proportions. Anything but the best lighting will result in messy pictures. Zoom in to actual size (pixel size) and you get an incomprehensible mess. If you need to take photos of your recent car crash to show to the Police as proof, it will do the job. For just about anything else, it's useless. For a flagship, it's a total embarrassment. I remember the Nokia slide phone with 2Mp camera I had ages ago. that one took far better pictures. If I were the president of LG, I would summon the guy who's responsible for putting this camera on the G6, kick my shoes off and chase him around, try to slap him on the head with them.

had the s7 and s7edge before my g6 and s7edge let me down after 2 weeks (phone froze all the time, needed soft and hard resets) so I switched to the normal s7 because after two weeks I realized i disliked the edge screen (my personal experience). My normal s7 was great the first month, then a lot of battery drain, a last I had 1 hour SOT and it was done. And after 2 months had a burned in screen (brownish spot in the middle of the screen, like half the size of the screen). So switched to something that looked fine, was ok in specs and was ok in price. result is that I like my g6 a lot more then the samsungs. I use my phone daily and never had anything special with it for the moment. And the screen is something I absoluty love about it. Battery life is just fine for me, 4 maybe 5 hours SOT on lte, and 6 to 7 hours when on wifi. more the enough for me. Solid phone that nobody likes because it's nor samsung branded.

I have a g6 myself as well as my U11 also and the g6 does not suffer from boot loop or anything else in my experience and its extremely well made also you cannot go wrong with it. I have had the g3,g4,g5,v10 and I think the g6 is the best of all of them and hopefully soon I'll get a v30.

My advice: go fot the G6. 1. it's the cheapest among these three phones 2. it's the most pockatble 3. very nice design, altough that's personal. I own a Note FE which is a nice phone, but only if you want the S-Pen I would recommend it. The Nokia 8 is a great phone, but the camera isn't the best. The G6 offers a very nice second wide angle camera.

You're right it is turned on now. But at launch it wasn't. And I'm not even sure if all the carriers turned it on. If I remember right only T-Mobile turned it on (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here). I personally have no use for it, but if there are folks asking for... might as well let them have their FM radio.

First, I don't get what you are blabbing about. If what you said is true, then maybe you just got unlucky. I have been using this device for a while now, and even my friend tried swapping his S8 for my LG. It's a very premuim device, and I don't even use a pouch even though it has fallen off my hands a lot. It still stays intact expect for the bumbs on the side of the phone were it took direct hit. The device is really fast, but maybe the Samsung S8 maybe just a tad bit faster, and that is only noticeable when u put both phones side by side and run apps simultaneously, and even then, some apps still open faster in the G6. The G6's display seems cooler even though the S8 may have a better display on paper. I have had the opportunity of using both phones, and they are both amazing in their own ways. Saying LG shouldn't make phones just seems like you are just here to discredit LG for Samsung.. LG G6 is amazing..

As you mention " I am a heavy user with using a tech for my work as well" perhaps this is what caused your device to succumb. The 821 works fine for my taste but in your case I would suggest a portable computer with 4G data attached to it if you have such heavy loads. A shaky hand can damage the sim tray

I am writing this review after using this product for about 10months. So here it is. This product (black variant) was a birthday gift from my father on 10th May 2017 ( I recommended after a lot of research, of course). It was worth 50k back then with an outdated processor (Snapdragon 821) whereas S8 offered Snapdragon 835. I still thought of putting my faith in it (No clue what got into me). Due to my extremely busy schedule, I set the phone on 12th May. It took about 5HRS for its first charge. I tried managing on and off until July ( because i did not wanted to switch to another phone as setting a phone takes a lot of time; At least for me). I got frustrated eventually since it lagged way too much, battery issue on charge time and drainage, visited the service center in July and they tried convincing me it was fine. After about 4 visits I managed to convince them to issue me a DOA certificate (dead on arrival). Got a new handset and damn, happy now. The new product seemed to run fine, until around October is started off to lag. Lag real bad. I am a heavy user with using a tech for my work as well. While I was off on a trip to Dubai, the sim tray broke while I was trying to switch to a local sim. It still seemed to work fine until about a week back, 21/02/2018, when the battery drained overnight. I charged my phone next morning and switched it on, it seemed to not read one of my sim cards (airtel; vodafone seemed to work fine). I tried changing the slot and still the same. I reached out to an airtel outlet and the sim worked all fine in another handset. I reached the LG service center again, the guy suggests flashing the software (thereby losing all of my data for the 3rd time for the same pathetic product). Can't explain how annoyed (and equally helpless) I feel. PROS: I would surely take time to appreciate what's good. 1. Camera- Outstanding. Can't beat the pictures clicked from it. 2. Display- Beautiful colors and real bright and immersive display. 18:9 screen ratio gives a great experience. 3. Battery- I wouldn't say good, but decent. Anywhere close to what other premium smartphones might offer. Unless, you are a one plus user. 4. Fast charge- It really charges the phone good and fast. (The experience from the replaced model). 5. Aesthetics- The phones looks premium and beautiful. Easy and comfortable to hold and operate. CONS: 1. Sim tray- Extremely fragile. Handle with utmost care. 2. Battery- At a price of 50k, offer better battery performance please. 3. Processor- Stop being outdated. When others offered SD835, you offer SD821, and let me tell you, it wasn't worth the trust I put in the product. 4. OS- It has been about a year almost, the Oreo update hasn't been rolled out. Now, when I pay 50k, I expect quality and service. I cannot wait for Android 8 when the world it prepared for the launch of Android 9. 5. Customer Service- Real bad customer service. Extremely poor knowledge of the product. No audacity or manners to behave with the customer. Keep procrastinating the work. Extremely unprofessional. JUDGEMENT: Dear LG, I have had food stored and cooked in your refrigerators and microwaves, had a TV for about 10years. I really like your products but please stop fooling and looting people by selling your phones. It is not your forte, not your genre. Please save your brand name and stick to what you are good at. You are not good at making smartphones. Face it. Dear people, thank you for reading the review. I strongly support and promote LG all products (except smartphones). They are good with it. I have the LG G6 for less then 30 days now and are having a screen issue. I will be taking the phone back to the shop on Monday as this issue occurred outside business hours. I however would like to know if anyone knows what could course this type of screen issue. My phone has color lines across the screen vertically. I haven't dropped the phone or mishandled it in any way and have and I kept the phone in a silicon cover. My phone was charging via a power bank and I was taking pictures in a park while being there with my family. I turned the screen off for a minuted while I was waiting to take the next picture. I scanned my finger and next thing I noticed was lines on the side. each time I seem to turn the screen off and back on the lines seems to be moving across the screen. I had a hard time getting back into my phone after a complete shut down and after about 2hrs managed to perform a complete factory reset but the issue remains. Has anyone had this issue or know what could course this from happening. This is my first LG after many years of being a Samsung user and I am very disappointed right now. Freaked out user!

I bought my LG G6 for just 310 EUR (382$). I like it overall, just that the battery could be a little better. I can use it the entire day (about 10 to 11 hours ) before i recharge it. Also for me the battery is not a deal breaker. This is an awsome phone with a very good camera capabilities.

I have the G4 and had the bootloop issue a few months ago. I've been using the phone for over a year then and its already out of warranty. All I had to do is call LG, I was informed that they'll repair my phone free of charge. I printed labels they sent me, shipped my phone to them free of charge and got it back after a week. LG covered even the shipping and handling. Now, that for me is great customer service. My LG G4 is still working although i'm only using it mainly now for wifi casting coz I've upgraded to LG G6 :) Been using my G6 since August and I've had no issues. I was a big fan of iPhone when it first came out, from jailbreaking since there was no app store back then and we have to rely on Cydia. Now i think iPhone is overrated and samsung is overpriced. LG isn't that cheap, but its just right for my budget and it is a great phone, not to mention that their customer service is great!

If you have upgraded the software of the phone. Example: from Android 6 to Android 7...there is no going back. You could probably root the device and flash a custom ROM...bla bla bla. The average user is not going to attempt this process. IF, the app itself updated and changed the layout..this is more easily fixed. You should be able to surf the web and find the previous APK file and install pretty easily.

You cannot ask people to recommend you devices. After all it's your money. The G6 is a flagship, but also was S7 edge, HTC 10 and LG G5. The Huawei devices you mentioned are mid range devices. S7 edge, HTC 10 and G5 will taste their last update this year. G6 is the only one which will receive Oreo and the future P android update. As for the Huawei only 7x will receive 2 major updates but I can only guess since it's newer. If you have the chance, try them in a store, see what you like and look for reviews on the internet (comparison). Best of luck in your decision!

Absolute garbage. Problems are it has a glass style back that cracks easily, mine cracked 100 yards down the mall where I purchased it because it was in my pocket with car keys while buying a coffee, could still see the kiosk where I bought it, of coarse nothing they will do about it... Fixed non removable battery, unlike most other android models when the battery goes in this one you cant just pop a replacement in... Different charging cord, throw out the 20 you had for your old phone, they wont work with this one. Now the main problem, these phones are PLAGUED with charging port issues. Mine started the "moisture detected in charging port" (so charging is cancelled) about a month after I got it even though it is in an otter box and has never been exposed to water. You have to go out and buy a wireless charger because sometimes it just wont charge on the cord. Today for instance it charged perfectly for 30 minutes and at around 60% it decided there is moisture in the charging port... Other issue is sometimes it randomly starts vibrating an alarm about something with the usb. It doesnt stay on long enough to read it but it comes on and off in about 1.5 seconds, it will do it every second for hours, on off on off on off you have to shut down the phone to stop it. Sometimes it will behave itself for a few hours, sometimes its weeks. In short, I would not recommend this phone. They will tell you they havent heard of these problems but google it, THOUSANDS of us have these problems and they dont care.

Don't compare lg g6 to samsung s8. Not the same price range. Not the same SoC (821vs835) Lg v30 is real competitor to s8. I have chosen G6 against s7 for many reasons (18:9, HDR, Type-C, Wide angle cam...) Though s7 might have better camera and cpu(exinos). I have g6 for 4 months now. No complaints. No regrets. I am a "heavy user", so battery can't make it through the day, but quickcharge makeup for it. Performans is great. Eats everything i throw on it. One time i forced it too much with instant download of 7 torrents. It started tu lag. But i think every smartphon would have the same problem. Lg g6 is great phone for a great price. Don't complain about not having yet android Oreo update, s8 did not get it either. Yet. If your wallet allows you, go for lg v30, s8, huawei mate 10 pro... Just because someone have a problem with his phone, it does not mean that it is a common problem. (Sorry about grammar. Never learned english officially)

Don't say meh performance because the g6 is as fast as my s7(exynos version) in day to day use. Sure the s8 is faster but also lots more expensive. I don't understand when people say last years tech is bad. So the s8 will be so bad next year when the s9 comes out? You get what you pay for. love the g6, the screen is great, battery is more then ok for me (2 days, 6h+ sot). Calls are cristal clear. Camera is fast. Samsung s7 was 0,1 sec faster but that one I hated because my screen turned pink and battery life was in the end 1h sot. (Bought phone brandnew 4 (four) months ago. Samsung is good in the start but lifetime is very poor.) Its my first lg, will see if it lasts longer in build quality. First impression is very positive.

LG G3 was a masterpiece, G4 classic,G5 eeer! and the G6 amazing even though I still feel it should have had a twin brother with the curvaceous screen(non flexible) named G6 curve. I hope they'll consider that in their next iteration.

Has somebody experienced bootloop with g6? Cause my g4 bootlooped 2 month ago. Also i heard g5 is already start to booloop. But still i like lg and it look like i am gonna take a chance with g6. Maybe i am silly.

Image retention issue was there with my g4 & g5. G4 finally bootlooped. I sold g5 to a very cheap price. Issues with lg comes after normally one year. So still too early to predict about g6.

There is a thread about this on XDA. This is a serious issue, as it affects one of their main selling points - wide angle camera. More trouble for LG, but they deserve it obviously.

LG G6 wide angle camera with 2 versions and the one has poor image quality.the sharper version has 2.01 mm, the blurry one has 2.09 mm focal length.Mine is 2.09,phone is H870 Europe version.my wide angle pictures are blurry ..

The Phone is Great and has a nice design. The only problem is that its too delicate especially the back. Two weeks of usage and Phones Back was broken and i didnt even know how it Broke cause am too cautious with my phone. Just removed it out of my pocket and found it that way. You have to be very careful with this phone

I am fully satisfied with this phone. I just bought it a few weeks ago and it is great value for the money. It is crazy fast, takes great photos, the display looks awesome, has good battery life, the speaker is better than S8's and the design is neat.

Yes, the European version is a so called international version so you will receive updates when LG brings them. It's not carrier dependent.

Yes, H870 is the European device and the latest update brought November security patches and Oreo upgrade is only weeks away. You also can get, if available in your country, H870DS (bigger internal memory and double SIM) which is meant for Russia market which is also weeks away from getting Oreo.

The current price of the G6 is very appealing, so personally I would go for the G6 over the OnePlus. It is a beautiful device after all and it might get even cheaper now the G7 is coming in the next couple months.
