I bought this because of the special price offer and 5megapixel camera but was disappointed after some use for I found to my dismay that though camera was good but when zoom was used the quality of picture was very very bad. Battery life is too short and you have to carry your charger with you as no chargers in public places are suitable for this phone. If the volume is kept high then it affects your ear. Memory is too less and unable to send messages. The Company should replace tis model free of cost

Well, i have both phones at the moment. To tell the fact, this is the strongest phone ever. It has fallen over a billion times but still strong. The only problem is the housing. It's hard to come by, the java too sucks, plus the music player ain't the best. But believe you me, this phone is solid..

Had this phone for about a year. Picture quality is OK. Accessories are hard (impossible!) to find in the Philippines. Charger has an end like the old 3com PC Card NIC dongles, breaks easy, can't replace it in this country. 5mp picture quality is good, but the focus is slow and the processor in the phone takes forever to load them. mp4 decoder is slick though, I loaded up the whole matrix trilogy onto a 1GB sd card. Unfortunately the battery life is only good enough to get about 15 minutes into the first movie. Not so good for trips/boring car rides. Overall, it's 'feature-packed' but the performance of the phone makes it impractical. Also, mine has a bug, have to select network every time the phone powers on, which takes 2 minutes or so.

Hi Friends.., Still I understand that some of you had good view about this phone...However...I was a user of this phone about 3month plus...My recommendation is "Don't waste your money". Here is the final spec..... Because the reasons are 1) Very slow camera and slow performance of each commands..... 2) Very poor pic quality. Nokia 2.0mp and Sony 2.0mp are better than this. 3) Poor operating system....for ex if you have 100 msgs in your inbox, and delete the 69th msg, it should stay at either 68 or 70, right? but it comes to 1st msg. Again you have to press 68times to go for next msg. Likewise, contacts also. 4) You cannot play music, it won't support for play list. if you hear music, you cannot work on other options. 5) Poor signal quality. it automatically disconnects from Network. Later you have switch off and switch on again. 6) Poor microphone, cannot hear people voice. 7) this is the WORST phone, I ever had in my life. DON'T waste your money. Still if you want to buy this....My comment is....Wish you good luck...!

Wow... this phone is pretty much bare bones, only bluetooth and usb wow... no 3g.... this is terrible.. you may as well just buy a 5mp camera and a $80 phone with bluetooth, usb, infrared even, and probably 3g if your lucky.. this doesnt cut the cheese..

Hi Friends.., I noticed that some of you are going to choose this phone for music....please DON't. I bought this and ended up in frustration....Because..It did not support playlist...and you cannot work on other function if you play music player like Sonyericcson.(Player cannot be minimised). If you get the call during playback...it quits player and won't restart automatically. If you have 100 songs and was hearing 67th song...you all the way need to come from 1st song...which is kind of irritating.... To know more details drop me a mail at [email protected]. Got this phone a few days ago and I get new phones often. I dont know about the other guys...maybe they got some old ones with old firmware but mine is FAST! Quick menus, quick camera speed, excellent BT. Feels GREAT in your hand..not like a cheap chunk of plastic. Exceptional build quality and great sound too! Got this phone for 98 bugs from Starhub. The camera is professional and need knowledge to deal with it. For newees, set to sport mode and auto flash to get great image all time. Wait for the blue square before pressing the shutter, else it will not shoot. The auto focus takes its time, but worth the wait. I like to exchange tips with other user. i purchased a LG KG920 silver set. while i insert mini sd memory card (1gb), it doesn't read it. the phone is working. while trying to turn on the camera or play mp3, it displays the message "please insert external memory". but i have already inserted the mcard which is working properly in other devices. i would be grateful if you suggest me a solution to this problem.

i've sold my kg920 for 450$..i've buyed it for 500..i lost 50$..but what the heck :D..i wasn't satysfied with this phone..the camera disapointed me..i have a digital camera(old) with only 2mpx..that take some pics..way better than this phone..i'm waiting for the next 5mpx or more ..lg model..atleast to try it..and if it's worth the money..i'l keep it.. but remember this !!!! do not get fooled about the 5mpx camera..is not worth it..you could buy a 3mpx digit camera..and the camera will beat lg's a** and yes it's a slow phone..even n73 wins this battle..and yes k800 takes better pics..maybe you'l reconsider and buy yourself a "lg prada" :)..or something else..untill something wirthy comes out hope that helps

Sony Ericsson K800 wins by a small margin here. Nokia N73 is a smartphone and is expected to be slower, but in reality is not much slower than K800 in both focusing and saving times. The auto focus reliability is very high on both 3 megapixel cameras. LG KG920 disappointed us in this aspect. Yes, it should process a lot more data, as it works with larger photos, but the saving time was just too long. The auto focus is not that reliable as in the 3 megapixel photo mobiles and the shutter works somewhat strange - it you full-press from the beginning, you might not be able to take the photo. We should also note that the shot-to-shot time of KG920 is more than 10 seconds.

Most phones nowaday equiped with hi-tech, hence it freez or slow ...etc one thing you can do switch off and remove battery wait awhile then put back turn on...should be fine. oh one more thing as well-reset setting, the setting you have customised to suit your tast, if fail then master reset ( passwoed may require on this one) otherwise take it to authorised repairer.DON't buy phone because you wanted to take a good picture! you're wrong! buy or use the real camera! the one it designed to do the job! Mobile phone mainly design for make call and receive call and relate tasks. Use your head not your hard earn money!

yes i know it has a very good speaker and all, but the camera is crap. It only take good pictures when the flash is on even so you will have to be very still otherwise you wuldnt get a good picture. Assuming you want to take a picture of someone on stage perfroming, that wont just be possible cus the person has to be really still to get a good picture. I am really gutted cus one of the main reasons why I bought this phone was to take pictures. 5MP but crap. Gutted!!!! Gutted!!!!

Steven: what ram? since when is this phone a computer? And since when does a modern phone must have wifi? Does that mean the other 90% of phones in the market are not modern? 256k colours is already good for a phone. Even the Nokia sirocco has a 256k colour screen. I'm a user of the LG kg920. I've count the buttons :P 30 buttons! (you were close with 32) The quality is good, very good, but you have to know how to use it. I've found out that a count down (example: from 3 to zero) makes the best pictures. I think that's because we move the camera/phone too much while pressing the photobutton. If you want to make a picture from someone that is moving at the time, then turn the mode 'Sport' on. Any more questions? (I don't know how to import games, anyone who does?)

i have only a small amount of knowledge of this phone as i have never owned one but i did get to preview the phone. the camera looks quality and to get best reults you just need to switch it to sports mode. this will give awesome results. the phone itself seems to be a little complicated at first but you can get used to it quickly. the only bad thing ive noticed is the quailty of the mp3 player which isnt the best. other than that its a quality phone, id be proud to own one.

to PU2{ try to connect the phone to you computer and copy files. Look how fast it goes or even better try to send a 5 mb file via bluetooth. Then you'll see that I am right. How else should I know all this if I don't have KG920? As I mentioned before this is my experience and what makes it worst is that it is not compatible with mac. Who cares if you believe me or not, this is a site where you post your opinions and I don't have a reason to lie. I am trying to make others aware of the standard of the phone, and warn some people that have macintosh or have the same expectations from kg920.

Did anyone realise that there are 2 versions of this fone excluding the CDMA ones.There is th KG920 which is the most currently used one and the KG928.The difference is the KG928 is black on the front and has VGA video at 30fps whereas KG920 has QVGA video at 30fps.But the KG928 is less powerful than the KG920.

I got an KG920 about 2 weeks ago, and I must say that I am so badly dissapointed. The camera is really bad. It takes 5 mp crapy pictures. The mp3 player is got the worst quality. The headphones are really bad too. I changed the headphones to some of the best on the market and I still can't get good sound out. When you drive the headset makes a loud noise so when I talk to other people they always complain that they can't hear me. If you have macintosh, forget about compatibility. Sync does not work accept the crapy old bluetooth which by the way is 1.2 (stoneage) ans so it is the USB connection between the phone and the computer 1.1 version. When I copy files from my mac to the phone (which takes forever), I get this weird extra file for each song. The file stats with ._ . Of course this file won't play but it ruins the whole music listening experience. I get mp3 error all the time so I have to keep restaring the mp3 player all the time. The kg920 is a very expensive phone and I expect nothing but great quality. I was really positive to the phone before I got it. I thought that could get all in one phone. I was very wrong! Now I have to buy everything separatly, and I am stuck with a phone that sucks! This is my experience!

Kenny, I'm from Birmingham in the UK! Hi Gi. (1) The best way to view your pictures and to really see the amazing quality is to upload them onto a computer, via bluetooth or the lead included in the pack. You've obviouly found the way to view the pictures in landscape on the phone but I've no idea if you can take away the name of the individual file off the picture. Can you upload onto computer? (2) The best close up picture I've taken is of a bug in my garden. However, I did this without the flash. Are the pictures important to have them taken in a dim area? Is the flash necessary? Try going into 'Close up' mode and keep trying. Don't zoom in, try putting the lense as close as you want but if the flash is on and the camera is too close, there will obviously be some of the flash that will bounce back. (3) Not sure about the problems with video settings. I have to admit that I haven't experienced any problems with my phone. The phone is no camcorder and will only ever have some of the capabilities that a camcorder will have so you will have to keep that in mind. Panning around a room in video mode is great to get used to it. Maybe alter the resolution(?) Mine current settings are:- resolution - 320x240, quality - fine, WB - auto, light metering - all. I don't have a problem. These little hints and tips don't always appear in the user manuals so it is often a case of trial and error. If anyone would like me to email them some of the pictures I've taken with my KG920 please feel free to email me and I'll forward some over. Proof is in the pudding! (1) i've tried 2 view e taken pics (all my pics r taken in landscape mode) in foto album n external memory (fotos), all pics r reflected in portrait view n worse still, both sides of pics r been trimmed off! using pan-mode (left-right scrolling) 2 view complete pics is unreasonably acceptable. i've alternatively on e cam mode n activate e centre softkey button 2 view pics in landscape mode. here, i encounter a heart-pounding problem! e bottom part of pic is being blocked out by e file name indication! is there anyway i can remove e aforesaid label? they r really an eyesore!! pls is there anyway 2 view 'real' landscape pics? (2) is there any special skills 2 take beautiful close-up pics w/o e risks of over-exposure (when flash is on) or under-exposure w flash off / brightest level being adjusted 2 brightest in dim environment? i've attempted countless of trials but all down e drain...... (3) is there anyway 2 cx e video frame rate as promoted as 30fps? when settings r tuned 2 e best, e cam doesn't seem 2 be able 2 smoothly catch up w my panning movement (i've moved steadily slow) when i tried 2 take a short video clip around my entire living rm. there's some 'trails' when w my slight movement. overall no pixelation n video looks sharp n clear (colour rendering is good!)but only when i move my cam around or e focused object moved. i envy u've successfully mastered e skill 2 takin excellent beautiful pics n videos w lg920. i 2 wish 2 be a proud owner of my fone.... alas! thinkin there's still a long way 2 go 4 me. learning 2 take still pics w super steady hand is e entry level capability i've 2 master. tq 4 spending time reading my long long posting. ve a good day.... cheers!

If you want a phone for the MP3 player I'm afraid I cannot really offer any advice as this feature wasn't one I was considering when I got my KG920. I do not really have any basis of comparison with the MP3 player as my last phones didn't really have the feature. To me though the KG920's sound quality, loud enough speaker volume, adjustment settings etc. seem great but there may be more to the MP3 player that I have not yet discovered as I have been mainly interested in the camera. My dad, who has the K800 took a cracking photo of me on his phone holding my biggest fish yet that I caught, which was good for me as I'm a girl!! But the clarity of his picture was awesome and I couldn't have asked for any better quality. Detail in the 3.2mp seemed the bees knees and I'm so proud to show people that photo, not only because of the fish but also because the shot was excellent. He had previously took video footage and I would say that I personally felt (now comparing to KG920) that this kind of let the phone down slightly. K800 has a great camera (never had the chance to see the flash in use I'm afraid) and so-so video but my personal opinion is I would buy my phone again and again if necessary. I thought I was happy with my Motorola V3 and I was going to buy a normal digital camera for my picture taking but after researching as much as I could find out about the KG920 I knew that this was something I just had to buy. I am thankful to LG for designing such a well-made device as I have a great phone and excellent camera in one. If you're after a specific feature in a phone, such as an MP3 player, see about buying an MP3 player on it's own first. It'll have all the features you want it to and won't take anything away from your next mobile. That's the advice I think I would give.

Congrats on getting your new phone! You've only just got your phone and don't be disheartened at not getting the picture results you hoped to get straight away. It does take some getting used to with all the settings you can select. I've taken photos indoors and outdoors and I've found that the 'Auto' setting gives me a fantastic shot. I didn't think you could adjust the brightness setting itself when taking a picture but I've just learned that you can! When first going into 'Camera mode' the bar comes up at the bottom of the screen, just like in video mode, so you can adjust how bright you want your shot. The bar does disappear after a little while though. Maybe that's something you could have a play with. The blurred pictures will improve the more you play with it. I found that when taking a picture, look at the subject your viewing, hold down the button slightly until the autofocus gets the picture's focus right, wait for the little box in the centre to turn BLUE and press the button a little more and the picture will be taken. I've noticed that if the box turns red you don't get the best picture. If your phone is turned on it's side when taking the picture, your photo will be stored as landscape and the same with video. You can then view them in landscape when looking in your external memory. Keep trying but as I said please don't be disappointed or disheartened at not getting it right straight away. One other cool thing about buying this phone is the little lense cleaning wand you get! Screw off the end to reveal a small soft brush that's just the right size for cleaning the lense. Having a lense cover on the phone as well means it's always protected. Phone cases are available (got mine off eBay although it came from Hong Kong) and you can get disks of ringtones, wallpapers etc. for your phone too off eBay.

Messaging speed seems 'normal' to me, although the keys are a little small so it may take a while sending a text until you get used to the buttons! After taking a picture you can set the option to save it automatically, which is what I do. You can then check the external memory to view your photos. This I would say does let the phone down slightly (only slightly and the only fault I would say it has) as viewing the pictures isn't very quick, whether it's in multi view, individual picture select or as a slide show. It can be a bit slow, whether that depends on what size memory card is in there I do not know. I've currently got a 256mb card in my phone, which came with the phone and is branded 'LG', and I'm actually surprised how much stuff can be stored. Having had the phone just over a month and the novelty still being there for me to play with it, I've stored lots of pictures, videos (1 of which is 8 minutes long!) and music tracks and there is still more memory left. I do eventually want to get a bigger sized memory card but not just yet. I think any size memory card can be used, but keep in mind that these cards must be the mini SD cards. Everyone's opinion will be different and it's websites like this that swayed my decision to buy the LG KG920. I think it's great to read other people's views and opinions and I hope my comments help. Ultimately the decision can only be made by yourself and I feel confident that you will like this phone. I love gadgets, electrics, technology and this phone was a 'must have' for me and I've no regrets. Although I was quite lucky in getting my phone at a very good price, I think if I were to buy this phone again I would pay up to �500 for it as the camera alone is such excellent quality and surely must beat some of the top models on the high street today. I use my camera a lot and have never experienced any problems with battery life as I always ensure my phone is fully charged. The good thing is you get a spare battery which can be charged in the docking station when you're using the other in the phone. When you have 2 fully charged batteries there's no stopping the amount of fun you can have taking photos and video. I've never noticed the battery heating up. Video quality is awesome and better than some other phones on the market. Regarding the autofocus on picture taking, I admit that this took some getting used to as there are so many different settings to choose from. My first few pictures looked a bit blurred as I was trying to take a close up shot using zoom but it somehow went a little wrong! Once you get used to the settings this phone has to offer you'll start to appreciate the capabilities of what LG have given this phone. Blowing my own trumpet a bit here, but my pictures now are top quality! I print them off my laptop onto photo paper and frame them and some are on display in my home - that's how good a quality they are! My dad has the K800i and I was thinking of getting one of those when I was waiting for the KG920 to arrive in the UK but I'm so glad I waited. Happy to help, Kel

MP3 player is great. Easy to listen to your favourite tunes in excellent sound quality. You can change the equalizer to the different modes set in the phone (pop, jazz, 3D, country, dance, normal, classic) - not sure about any other ones(?). Volume can be adjusted and you even get headphones with the phone with a control on the lead to adjust! Some people may not like this phone but I happen to love it. A couple of my last phones were a Motorola V3 and Sharp GX20 and they've got nothing compared to this one.

I have had my phone since the beginning of August and got a great deal on it thanks to the Carphone Warehouse website making a bit of a boo boo on the pricing! I'm on a �25 a month 12 month contract and got the phone for �40!! This is by far the most impressive mobile I have ever had - and I've had a few due to me being a bit of a gadget freak! The picture quality is awesome, cannot complain. Phone call quality is superb, features are great but then every model of phone is different and we always compare. I wanted a phone with a great camera and thanks to LG I have it built in to a very easy to use phone. I bluetooth ringtones, pictures etc. from my laptop and vice versa with ease. Top notch!

wow, got this phone, compared it to my 7mega pixel cyber shot (at 5mega pixel settings) and the phone is actually better!!!!!!!!!! now as soon as you zoom in the camera is better but as for the phones size.. you cant fault it, its god damm amazing and deserves all the praise it can get. exceptionaly well featured hand set, shame it has no optical zoom but that would add to the size and we dont want that now really do we! 10/10 camera phone, 8/10 camera, 8/10 mps player, seriously thinking of ditching the sony as this to be honest will probably do the job just as well.... we'll see though! thumbs up!

Dissapointing... I originaly was attracted to this fone because of the claimed internal memory. When it firt came on the scene, it clamed 256mb internal memory. Then after a week it went down 2 128mb. Now it turnz out 2 b 8mb internal memory! C'mon, wots d attraction now. My frend works in a fone shop & says the camera isnt better than the top 3MP camerafones: ie the Nokia N73, Samsung D900 & SE K800. He told me im better of gettin 1 of those...

Folks can we be for real here, if you want to spend over 600 for a phone be my guest. When a very very good, kick butt digital camera costs less, and is about the size of almost a credit card. This phone does not even have great features. I wanted a phone with a decent camera so i could take pictures of my kid that was a keeper. The real picture taking is done though with a normal camera.

Just saw a commercial on the TV for this phone ( Here in Greece ) So obviously it is already at the store's shelves. By looking at its price tag ( over 650 euros ) it is obvious that still its only for those with fat wallets ... :) In 2006 and 2007, other 5MP will also appear ( with Hard drives etc... ) and prices of such phones will surely fall. So its still to early for someone to buy it i guess.

@dane... here's what encarta says about strobe light...i guess its the same thing as a strobe flash "strobe light: high-intensity light flash, a high-intensity flashing beam of light produced by charging a capacitor to a very high voltage then discharging it as a high-intensity flash of light in a tube " so i guess a strobe flash should be a very powerful flash... at least we can say that we're lucky that LG won't be using LED flash..on a 5mpx phone loll..

Of course I'd prefer Optical Zoom but 5MPx is still going to be a decent size for photos. The review of this phone looked alright too. Why does it need 3G? As long as GSM exists this phone will be useful as a phone...and camera. The design and OS you can't judge because you haven't even had this baby yet. You're just jealous that whatever brand you "adore" can't offer this kind of handset. This one resemble Pantech PG-8000. Pantech is known for it's 'dicaphone' (digital camera phone) - instead of putting camera on a phone, they put a phone on digital camera. LG should be more creative !

Not sure how wise it is to keep the joystck on the right side. We tend to use our left hand mostly when it comes to cell phone. VK mobile tried to play around wiht the layout as well and in my opinion they got it right in their VK2200.

A very impressive phone, i m so glad LG finally gets the atention that always worthed. The design looks like odd (like the BORG phone), the ergonimicks sux a litle.. But these are some sacrifices to keep the compact size, want it or not the MOST important factor of the mobile is to be MOBILE, if you have unlimited space (and money) u may use more than one device (ipod+digital cam), the avdantage of the mobile phone is, its small, its one and u can easily carry it everywhere, why buy a huge smarthphone or palm, when u can buy a small laptop (Vaio notebook), u will need an extra bag for it anyway, ppl insist on N90 just because it written NOKIA on it (and maybe some more because it writes Carl Zeiss too), they will never look further than their own noses. Give LG a chance...look what they did, think of what they would, if they had Nokia's,Samsungs,SE's,Motorola's resources...

they don't take better photos by much, just the k750 show more details with backgrounds, but nokia n90 beats the k750 with macro pictures. check nokia n90 mobile review and you will see it.

the K750i (sony ericsson) takes better photos than the N90, so does the Sharp 902/903, they dont have optics as good as N90. But they do have a better sensor, and talking about mobile phones, because the sensors are so small, optics almost doesnt matter. But in this case, LG KG920 offers a 1/1.8' CCD module by Pentax, so there is virtually no way the N90 could possibly take better photos with its small sensor.

5MP doesn`t mean anything. Bad optics and good megapixels are worse than good optics and bad megapixels. I think it won`t have good optics, so I would better buy Nokia N90 with quality camera, although 2mpx.

First of all, 16million color and 256K color doesnt make a visual difference when compared- its marketing. Its the resolution/brightness/how vivid it is and viewable angle that matters most. Sharp 902/903 and panasonic VS7 have 2.4 and 2.5in TFT's, true, but the resolution is exactly the same as this phone (LG KG920) 240*320(QVGA), which means this phones lcd has higher pixle density, meaning higher quality display. and as you know your beloved 903 only has a 256K also and that is by no means worse than the 16million colour LCD by Panasonic VS7. Talking about colour reproductions, this phone uses a pentax module, which is good enough and will provide accuarate results. and the length, its cm, not sm. The keypad, although cramped, is comfortable to use. about the same size as the K750i's, which more than enough people are happy with.

TO MANY: I know that it's a mobile phone and not a professional camera (but hardly looks like a phone, because of rediculous inconvinient keypad desogn/size). This is the ultimate phone as long as they make sure its fully unlocked unlike the sharp 903, and gets rid of the asian characters on the keys for English lettering only for Europe/USA. The only possible way to improve it is quadband, radio, 3g, bigger/better keypad design, and longer battery life. Nothing else comes close, already sold 150,000 units in 6 months so hopefully it'll be out soon and force everyone else to respond with better phones. Supposedly costs $800, hopefully down to $500 in a year.

Ultimate camera phone camcorder. It's already been out since August in Korea and sold 150,000 units, so how long would a GSM version take to come out in Europe? Heard it costs $800 in Korea, maybe down to $500 by the end of the year? Once it's out in Europe then it should be sold in USA too almost immediately, right? Even the popular Samsung D600 phone of the year isn't sold in USA and I had to get a UK version through NYC based mobilebee.com. Would a UK/Europe version of KG920 have those annoying Korean characters on the keypad? Anybody have this phone, it's been sold on ebay for awhile already?

Also, they need to make the camera removable, or have a plate that comes down and conceals the camera completely. Otherwise you will not be able to enter US Federal buildings with this phone.

I like it! The two things I want to combine are my camera (good quality, not crappy 2 mp) and phone/PDA. Third most useful item would be a GPS device so I never get lost, but that's a much lower priority. So, for me, this is perfect. I also like the fact that the joystick is at one side, as it allows you to use the keypad and joystick without the fingers of each hand overlapping or interfering. That's what happens when the joystick is in the top middle. Of course, this way, it's more geared towards right handers, and I am left-handed. But I am willing to adapt. The only things remaining to be seen are battery life, processor speed, how thick it is, what its reception and sound quality are like, and most importantly, its interface. I am so used to the excellent way that my I-mate zeroes in on a contact, that I can't go back to the traditional way of looking. I really hope that becomes an industry standard. Can't wait, it is looking like my ideal phone, and prices should be at $400 or so in a few months.
