I suggest you to stop using whatsapp altogether and switch to an alternative which is compatible with your phone. Assuming it is running Android 4.x (if not, you should do updates, ideally install a mod with the latest Android version available for your phone), Threema looks like a serious competitor to whatsapp, as far as paid-for alternatives are concerned (the advantage being that you can invite friends by offering them the app). Otherwise, plenty of "free" options are available, depending on your and your friends' tastes and motivation to change: some provide more emoticons, some more privacy, some none of the former, but may be used by more people you know. I have this phone since november 2012 and it still work as it is new. Only difference is that the power button needs a tiny bit stronger push compared to when it was new but aside from that nothing changed. Great phone for ppl who are focused on call, classing messaging, mail checking, new apps like viber, instagram, whatsapp and othes work just fine its just that low ram memory get full easily and after closing such apps u need to wait 3-4 seconds for phone to really close them and that can be annoying. Anyway great phone for the money u pay for it.

I have been using this phone for the past two years. Never rooted it. Installed the official ICS update and enjoyed it a lot. BUT, now this phone sucks. There is a major charging problem, "Slow Charging" followed by the phone hanging every 5-10 mins. I have sent it to the service center thrice. Got my motherboard, charging slot and software restored but it doesn't help. This phone is a NEVER BUY.

My honest opinion about ics update.. absolutely flawless performance. smooth like butter. much better than gingerbread 2.3.4. no glitches,no heating problems faced during charging.. Pros: 1)very nice UI 2)power saver option 3)wifi hotspot shortcut at notification 4)slider options at notifications 5)if media volume is full and if earphones are connected.. volume automatically decreased when you play.. to save ur ears 6)notification area is deep black and lools awesome 7)keyboard is nice 8)quick memo option is added and its simply superb 9)screenshot works great and after taking screenshot it comes in notification area.. 10)Bluetooth receive or sent acknowledgment is given in notification area 11)added restart option when long press power button 12)camera interface is nice.. more options are added and photos are clear.. exposure is good.. 13)brightness 0% is much dimmer than before 14)any gmail,whatsapp etc. Msg comes.. it has got profile pic included with message in notification area 15)in notification panel font became small.. so if more notifications appeared.. panel can take upto 9 or 10 notification symbols on that panel.. 16)even though its ics, still apps can be moved to sd card 17)front cam added option inverted or original image 18)added smile,cheese etc option to take photo.. 19)added extra large font size in display options 20)Chrome browser was given along with update.. as default app and and cannot be moved to sd.. Cons: 1)big drawback is gesture option removed for tap cursor 2)haptic feedback color changed before when we touched a particular button.. now no blue color is visible 3)music lovers lost beautiful options like.. no notification area shortcut is available.. (4)equalizer settings are not available in normal mode.. its available only in earphones mode.. (5)landscape mode showed all albums.. and we can slide for our favorite album.. now that 3D view is lost.. 6)i use 8GB class 4 micro sd card and almost 100MB left in it.. when i turn ON or restart my device it takes more than 5 minutes to scan my memory card.. 7)after every boot we need to change screen timeout.. as it goes back to 15 secs as default.. for some this feature may disappoint.. 8)RAM is 512Mb but user available RAM is 477MB for gingerbread and 437MB for ics 9)no HDR option added to camera.. (i dont know weather it can be added via updates or not) 10) in gingerbread there used to be many font options as default in display settings.. in ics only 3 fonts are available(love font missing) final words: more pros than cons.. i am enjoying ics.. lets expect jellybean soon

I have LG OB almost 3 year and I must say its not so good. The first thing is the touch screen which seems to be unresponsive sometimes...tried about 12 roms for him,and the best is IZS 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich stock with moded features,stable and fast,smooth...in general phone is ok,but touch features are sometimes annoying...hope I helped!

kindly check where did you saved it (sim, phone memory?), or try this click the menu button on the lower left part (the box looking menu) >> click "more" >> display options >> you'll see in the lower part the "choose contacts to display" phone and USIM. click these to two to view all the contact numbers saved in it. after clicking them hit APPLY button. hope this would help you out :)

No my dear its not laggy and buggy. it is far better than galaxy s1, htc desire,hd, nexus s, and stable. i am using it now since kaunch date. I updated and downgraded lots of time. i have installed some apps i.e. ram manager pro, all in one tool box, advance task killer. thats it. after that you can feel the power of single core processor and 512 ram. you have to know how to use it. its damm good thing to use. Nova display light weight and stylish phone.

Download gingerbread official rom i.e. in kdz format. download rom converter 2.1 and extract kdz file which will give you .bin and .fls files. now download smartflash tool and run. after that go into rom copy d/l and add both .fls and bin files and hit start. within 5 minutes your p970 downgrade into official gingerbread without any problem. i personally did it several times bcoz tried lot of custom roms.

After upgrading from Froyo (2.2) to Gingerbread (2.3.4) using LG's tool, the phone worked just fine for some time. At some point, it got extremely slow. I'm not sure, but I guess it might have to do with G+/Hangouts updates. After some time, I decided to hard reset the phone, but it doesn't seem to provide an in-phone recovery feature. So I tried reapplying the Gingerbread update, using the tool again. Now, the phone is working like a charm.

Ive used this ph 24 mth now..and will upgrade to another android touchscreen ph later this mth. Mine is on a redbull contract with RBM software inside. OK! for first 12 mths it worked perfectly. then suddenly it began with problems ..wouldnt connect, became slow, when typing in whattsap the curser just goes anywhere in the text and the message is a mess..plenty nonsence.. (im not a power user, hardly use any apps but do use whattsap... never been dropped or got wet). i upgraded to gingerbread, performance improved but all RBM software vanished.. ok thats no problem...now since 3 months the screen flickers ..bright and dull..no one knows why.. im not happy but ph keeps working..this ph has just survived 24 mths...WOW..still use orrig batt get 24 to 30 hrs per charge.. my pics are good.. even on my laptop.. i got no prob with hardkeys.. but sometimes the "reload" is very slow ..im unlikely to go ICS.. u guys having too many problems..Other than diff of froyo and ICS with LG L7 series 2 it seems the black is slightly more powerfull.. so ill prob get a Mini S3 or 4..Besides the price of a ph whats incl by way of mins /mg's sms/mms also applies. I'm in S Africa

guys here is the steps in installing custom firmware (cm 10.1 - jellybean 4.2.2) to your OB ! first make sure you are running official firmware gingerbread or froyo. root your device. how?. in froyo download gingerbreak and install it. in gingerbread refer in xda tutorial for more detail instructions. after you're OB is rooted install rom manager in google play, open that and choose install recovery LG P970. then download cyanogenmod 4.2.2 nightly also download google apps here then put downloaded files on your sd card. then after that reboot your phone and boot from recovery- to do that just go to rom manager that you have been downloaded and choose boot from recovery. once you are in recovery mode choose wipe data/factory reset (hold down volume button and choose by pressing power button) after that choose and select wipe cache partition also choose and select advanced menu and select wipe dalvik cache then go back and select install zip from sd card and select cyanogenmod nightly zip file. ( wait until its finish installing ) and after it is already installed choose and select from sd card google apps zip and wait until its finish installing. and after its done just select reboot your phone and yes ! you just install cyanogenmod 10.1 (jellybean 4.2.2) note: you must running official lg firmware froyo and gingerbread only or else you will get security error in rebooting from recovery . note: i am not responsible for any damage to your phone ( just follow the instructions step by step and everything will be fine )

Hi Friends, I am writing my hands on exp with LG P 970. the phone is really good and has the best features in this range. It will be better to stay in either Froyo Or Gingerbread. Bcoz if u upgrade to ICS. The smoothness and the performance are little being affected although ICS has so many improved features but as my experience its better to stay in any of these to Software versions. Another thing the Music app in Ics is really boring and the Equalizer really sucks in my view and the Led touch button turns blue from white once we touch in Froyo and Gingerbread but that is not available when you upgrade to Ics. Even though we have a lack in Notification light we can download application from android market called Lg Notification which allows the Led buttons to blink while an sms or missed call.Hope everybody like this Thank You

after root JB CyanogenMod shortcut button response difficult. but if the charger or the battery casing is opened by hand touch or anything behind it worked fine. I thought maybe it was the power-ground problem is too small in JB firmware. so I did a little experiment, loose rubber that is in the casing, and put aluminum cigarette with folded evenly from the bottom to the camera.and work faster than ever

I don't think LG has any interest in releasing JB. They would rather you buy a new device. It took them two years to release ICS and when released it had major issues (SD card unexpectedly removed being one of them). If you want to always have the latest version of software for your device switch to an iPhone. I did. :)

Guys why are you so disappointed? I'm using this phone since September 2012 and even though it was in service 5 times (my fault) I still give it 5*. Why? Because I like this phone. Yes, it's not as good as an S4 but you wanna know something? It was made in 2011(?) and it's working like a charm. Yes, it lags like hell in some games and even the system is lagging BUT, again it isn't an S4 or an HTC ONE. Oh and if you want it to work better just flash a custom ROM (aka System), just like CM10.1 and you will have Android 4.2.2 :D.

I have 800 MB free on my internal storage and 16 GB on my MicroSD Card... So space shouldn't be a problem... My RAM has 150 MB free space... So this isn't a problem, too... I purchased this phone through Wal-Mart's StrightTalk plan. Overall I like it. A good, inexpensive alternative to the more expensive phones out there. The money you save with prepaid makes up for the discount you'd get for signing a two year contract with one of the big carriers on the Galaxy 4 or something similar. I had Android 2.3.4. I saw on LG's site that I can upgrade to their official Android 4.0.4. I just installed LG Support Tool and click, next, click, next, very easy setup... In 10 minutes, I had Android 4.0.4 ICS on my LG P970 - pretty impressive :) Everything was working sweet, except my hard keys / hardware buttons which were / are very unresponsive... Later I've read that ICS doesn't support anymore hard keys / hardware buttons... But LG forgot to tell me that :) And this is their official ICS, no custom ROM which could brick my phone... Ok, I've said... Let's try to install Button Saviour - but, oh, wait, it doesn't work because my mobile phone isn't root / rooted :( I tried Factory Reset, battery out, SIM and Micro SD out, but all for nothing. I don't use any strange apps, just the basic ones and all verified from Google Play. I like keeping my phone very simple... Now, is there any solution out there? Anyway, I will try to go to a private store and ask the guys to install a custom ROM, maybe Android Jelly Bean. I won't do it at home - takes time and I patience and I don't have them these days :) But, LG sucks. I'll never a phone from them anymore ! I will try a Windows Phone in the future. I'm sick of Android, too. Maybe an Ubuntu mobile phone, Linux has been always great...

Try the app from Google Play store called "Tweakker APN INTERNET MMS" It sets the proper APN settings for mobile network automatically, in just one click. Download it from Google Play; Make sure you have WiFi connected before launching it; Run the program, it will adjust your settings automatically. Worked to fix my connection woes. Hope it helps!

Hi, I have been facing the issue of Wifi disconnection since I have updated to ICS (updated from the service center). As soon as the screen locks, the WIFI gets disconnected It is not until the phone is unlocked that the Wifi reconnects. I have tried reinstalling the software. Last week i've sent my LG through a shop dealer the only one agent of LG products in my hometown to upgrade to ICS and paid rm80 for the service!!!poor service from the unprofessional malay sales girl asked me to collect after 1week! download lg smartflash and the new lgp970_v30b "ap.bin" and "cp.fls" files and manually upgate via pc.. its easy you when you download smartflash, you will get detailed instructions on how to install. its so easy. even a 10 year old could do it.. ive been running the above software for about 2 months and its fine ,no bugs or anything. its the offical update version that the phone comanpies would send over the air..

To get the latest ICS u need to update for a different region. ICS for this phone in malaysia isnt out yet. That being said, I highly recommend you head over to xda forums for custom roms and other tips n tricks.

Hey, how are you? what's the problem? you can upgrade to ICS by using LG PC suit, you can find a fresh version on LG website, install it and then you follow the instruction.

i'm loving it when i upgraded it to ICS...love the camera quality with a Voice command feature: Say "cheeese" or say "LG" and it takes photos! A panorama shot is now included...Yay! Also love the Screen capture or it's called QuickMemo where you can write anything on the pic or put a caption on it. Love the Google+ video chat..it's like Facetime quality...also, the servise provider video call is so nice! Youtube HQ video is awesome...except one downside, easy battery drain..

U need 2 download 2 thngs to install official ics on ur OB. The lg extract sofware nd the KDZ file. Google it nd u wil easily find them n the process of intallation too. I hav intalled ics on my OB. It is running smoothly n the battery bakup has improvd dramatically. No issues.

Screen shot's shortcut has been changed. VolumeDown + PowerButton will get u a screen shot !! There is no tapping next on music or image :( There is no Blue response in home buttons. Many presets are removed from music :( Call LG customer care and ask them to add all these features in next update patch!! I have done mine. Rest of u pls call cusomter care and tell what u all miss in ICS !!

Guys...I have updated to ICS a couple of weeks back. Until now i was not facing any issues, but recently I have got a weird issue with WIFI. Whenever the screen sleeps the WIFI gets disconnected, it reconnects when I unlock the cell. in your usb connection menu u have to choose the lg software connection then u will be able to connect to pc suite .. same with the OSP u have to grant permission from your phone to connect .. search the menus ,,, u will find it after all

just updated my P970 yesterday to ICS 4.0.4 via the official LGMobile support tool, i would say it is much much better than GB 2.3.4, now i can understand why it took them longer than initial planned to get it out. at least LG kept its promise to update the phone to ICS as announced , my Motorola Atrix got its update path canceled after their promises of an assured update, so thumbs up for Team LG for keeping its promises but next time make your updates more timely and LG will get less disgruntled customers. for the other user who are still on GB, it will reach you soon to update i believe. ~satisfied user in singapore

you have the same problem with me , the only way to decrease the temperature is install deepsleep and dont use the phone awhile. ICS V30B/C also sucking my RAM ... anyway u can try to install "OS Monitor" you will see "warning" log it means something wrong and it heating the phone but now i dnt get any heating issue cause i put my GB again ... say bye to buggy ICS.

Finally updated to ics v30c! it is awesome, my battery lasts one and a half day with heavy used. The ui are awesome, the new interface are cool. Although the blue led light doesn't work anymore and there is no lg animation during start up. Also the lock screen are cool. In over all the ics update is much better than the previous version. Must update your phone to ics! hope there will be an official update in jellybean :-)

Yes after upgrading to ICS, the battery drains very fast and also I can't play few videos which I was able to play with 2.3 Gngr Brd. Also my main concern is that my phone gets heated up very fast that I can barely catch it in my hands, it is a fact. Any suggestions......................? I know how-to operate the phone by not keeping all applications open and keeping n internal memory as empty as possible. Even if I talk for 5 mins my phone gets heated. hey buddy...i have updated my device to ICS..in my words plz dont change ur os to ICS...there are so many lags in current official ICS...main issue of fast battery drain only for 6 to 7 hours it lasts...UI is good but got disappointed...ram use also heavy for OS leaves only 100 to 75 mb for use of other applications...conclusion is dont go for it wait for lags get fixed...

There are bugs in optimus black ICS P97030C, sometimes it will refresh screen continuously until you won�t restart it won�t stop refreshing, and some of the camera feature are missing like macro, smile shot, ISO is just 400, like in GB ISO was 800. Battery drains very fast. These things have to be fixed.

Hi, I just installed v30b (europe open, I have google it so don't ask for link). Every thing seems to be ok but there are still some bugs from gingerbread left (when someone calls you the answer key is sometime a button and sometimes a slide, VERY ANNOYING!). though delayed... the v30b ICS firmware update (not the beta rom) is better... there are few lags and bugs in some applications but I noticed the reaponsiveness of the screen...

There are official ICS firmwares for optimus black, but it will take time to reach all users and it contains some noticeable bugs such as battery drains, so if u want to try u have to manually install it. But the UI is awesome, similar to optimus G.

Ics v30b with any version (italy, france, italy, germany, made my phone heating too fast, and when my 3g network very low while surfing thats made my screen blank so i had to removed the battery and that's happened around 2 times/day, and yeah like people said blue led, music widget doesnt work. so i keep on my great GB.

Hi dude, here is the link for all official firmwares. I have flashed v30I korean version and currently replying you.:) That means lg hardwares are not country specific for firmwares. Download france v30b and try to flash it again using smartflash tool. Unfortunatly, V30I korean version is also not so good. So now i will again switch to custom rom

Hi guys, This is me sumedh. A proud owner of lg optimus black. Here is the list of all official firmwares. Go to link, download firmware, extract using lg kdz extractor tool and flash via smartflash tool. I am a user from india-mumbai. Flashed both ICS versions v30b and v30i. ICS fr lg optimus black sucks. Gingerbread is best os fr our phone. Only good thing about ICS is lock screen. ICS is laggy which reduces performance. Its a childish look. Not much widgets are present. PPI gets reduced to 217 from 233. Music player equilisers are reduced. Also, we dont get the artwork service in ICS fr music player which is activated when we keep phone in horizontal position in gingerbread and froyo. Try ICS if you want. We can flash any available using smartflash tool. If you really need ICS or Jellybean, root your mobile and try custom roms. Those are better. Thanks guys and happy new year to all.

Some days ago I have flashed my LG optimus Black with ICS firmware European Open v30b via smart flash tool, but i didn't satisfy so I returned to Gingerbread Indian v20g. After flashing I have connect my Phone to PC and checked firmware update via LG mobile support tool I found software update and I start it. When finished my phone upgraded to v20h. Again I connect to PC and check firmware update and I found software update and I do it again, when finished the version is not updated to new it was same as previous v20h. Every time when I check firmware update it shows Update but not updating to next version what is being wrong can any one suggest me??

Dear freinds, I have spent some hour with official test firmware (European open) and i am going to posting my experience I like - Them Selector, New Video player support on portrait, Devanagari Unicode correctly support on browse & chrome, widget automatically makes space like jelly bean, screen transaction effect, new ics gallery, lockscreen customization with shortcut & wallpaper, mp4 video recording, camera capture with voice 'cheese', quick memo & screen capture, notification bar's shortcut customization, etc I dislike - less Widgets compared with gingerbread, LG optimus ui 3.0 not fancy as previous, no equalizer on music player, not correctly support Devanagari except browser, there is no option to disable background data for selected application this is a feature of ICS, no live wallpaper, etc Overall not satisfied with ICS compared to gingerbrade optimus 2.0 ui I know this is not final official firmware so hope it will be good when it will come with final

In the rest of the world, O don´t know, but here I guarantee you have the update available. Don´t believe other comments below saying it won´t be updated. Mine is, that´s what I can say to you. I connected my phone to the LG mobile update tool, and it said there was an update available. When finished the download and instalation, I saw my phone was running ICS 4.0.4. I'm experiencing choppy playback with every player out there... Every HD videos are very interrupted and laggy even whith H/W decoder. It's not a matter of available RAM (I manage that)... Hi. I don´t know where you guys live. I´m in Europe (Portugal) and here is avalilable for last couple of days the ICS update to our LG P970, through LG update tool. My phone is carrier free. I imagine the update to carrier locked devices may take a while longer, as usual... The upgrade transforms completely the phone in terms of functions and a little more speed. Regarding the battery, it´s way better, but my phone needed a week ago a new battery in warranty, so I can´t be sure if it´s because of that, or because the ICS upgrade. Just be patient, and LG should make the upgrade available world wide!!! Cheers...

Yes, ICS official update is officially released today, i had CM 10.0 installed then back for froyo 2.2.2 official for update to ICS official and accidentally i downgraded with a European ROM, LG PC Suite says ''you wiil have better expierence updating your phone on ICS'' or something else, but my original rom cames from Panama. Have a diference between P970 and P970H that not allows update the European Rom. Sorry for my Shakira's English XD.

No, it is not upgradable to ICS. It was in the schedule for second quarter 2012, but they removed it from the waiting list. There is one custom ROM that is a porting from original ICS to P970, called Lemmings 1.7.0 (I lost track of its releases) and also there is another one Zeus 7, but it is still to unstable.

Sorry yo hear LG isn't releasing updates for this phone. But there's always the root way. My neighbor has this phone with Jelly Bean (and thankfully no LG skin but Vanilla Android) via rooting and it works great. Now it's almost as fast through menus as my RAZR MAXX with ICS. I think I'll be rooting my phone soon as well

Owned this unit for 7 months now, average camera, average video recording, playing Hd games lagged a lot. Now I'm using the zeus 7.03 custom rom + the LG 3.0 ui theme and my OB looks perfect. HD Games work flawlessly now, although I must say the lack of ICS on this device sucks. Thinking of getting an S2 but if I get a second battery I wouldn't upgrade. As an entry level DROID, phone is perfect. But not good as a second or third DROID.

i'll try to answer your questions guys. First, the OB comes with stock Android 2.2 Froyo. Official Gingerbread 2.3.4 update is available via LG update. Just google it for step by step guide. (No ICS Update available!) In my experience, the gingerbread update fixed battery issues. My stock OB used to last 6 hours max. With GB it's almost 2 days. Second, for rooting guide please visit Make sure you follow the steps. There is a danger of bricking your phone. Update all drivers via LG Mobile Update. You need to have smartflash, superuser, LG P970 Rom Converter and a couple of patched files. After you root your OB, you can now install custom ROMs from CyanogenMod or NoaV4. There is still no stable Custom ICS like CM9 for our OB. You can try install nightly build CM9 Roms. But i switched back to a custom GB 2.3 Rom from NOA V.4

The optimus black got an excellent screen, but there are other things I have to state here, its edges are sharp and uncomfortable, the volume and g keys are not easy to find they need to be higher. The browser is excellent. If you upgrade to 2.3 gingerbread the touch key light will turn off in 4 seconds which is very annoying to me. The loud speaker in handsfree sound very robotic. The battery is average.

i have been using this phone for a month now. at first, the stock OB (with Froyo) is quite slow and the battery is really terrible. But once you update it to official 2.3 Gingerbread, everything seems to be fine. I already rooted my OB so I tried installing custom ICS ROMS from Cyanogen Mod. But the camera was affected. I installed NOA v4 which is a custom android 2.3 but very much similar to the official 2.3 with slight tweaks. Since then, my OB performs even better. No more lagging and the battery reaches almost 2 days without charging (i seldom play with my phone). Optimus OB almost has everything except the power of dual and quad core processors and it only has 512MB of RAM. Recommended phone for the average users. (Just be careful in rooting and installing custom roms. You might brick your phone aside from the fact that you lose your warranty). hope this helps.

go to this link by watching this video u can know the proces of rooting lg 970... also below this video description there is other link.go to that and download that root.rar file...then u can get firmwares shortcut,lg rom convertor,lg mobile drivers,smart flash tool,smart flash userguide,and superuser.zip which r important for rooting......follow the steps that r shown in the video.. in firmwares shortcut u can download the latest v20n instead of v20b which should be pasted in the root folder......

not sure for ICS but gingerbread works superfine. Guys, it is difficult to develop ICS on optimus black as the developers need to see many aspects..they need to develop ICS with the operation of the G key,volume key,sensor keys...the sensor(tap up down left right to move between text or change music)..Autofocus VIDEO recording..well, the risk of these specs not working correctly is sure for the update of ICS in OP black..it will take time to solve this..i see gingerbread 2.3 version v20E rocking on my p970..

Optimus black. Wow. What a phone. I upgraded it to gingerbread and it works better. High performance. More power optimization. More apps available. Mine is version 20 E gingerbread 2.3.4. Well i got a software(firmware updater) on the official site and the software itself search for the latest firmware. You need to put the phone in USB debugging mode in settings. I use Skype,go launcher,facebook,flashlight,twitter,speedometer­,offline dictionaries,opera mini,equaliser,pencil sketch,gitabase,ES file explorer,hanuman for android,barcode scanner,talking santa,piano perfect,badoo,messenger,hi5,jimi guitar lite,tube downloader,ebay,flv video player,call blocker,fake call me,bluetooth file,periodic table and many other apps without problems including games. I wish only if it were a dual core phone. But I don't regret, it has a nice body, perfect look and is light in weight. I bought it when it was new in market(it was expensive). Through my experience, i didn't any phone that can compare with it(combining price,apps and characteristics). Hi Friends, I heard that upgrading P970 from 2.2.2 to 2.3.X or higher than that results in problem. Thats why I am maintaining the same OS which came from factory. Has anybody upgraded it the version? does it result in any problem? Also the problem is that once the new version is installed we cannot reset back to the original factory setting. We have to take it to the services centre. 1 more problem for me is that, I got this mobile in UAE. So when upgrading there are different versions available for both UAE and India. OH, instead use the Android assistant 18 it work well on my LG OB970 than the task killer. I believe you can have that free on market. Launcher pro is good because it eat less memory on the system, yes this is android application for our phone. You can have that, the free version on the market but its more nicer if you will have the paid version. Try looking on the forum. mobilism.org site its all there free and tested. Try also the Zeaman and nesmus launcher... its good to and fast...hope this help. thanks

I have used my Black on stock ROM/Updates and hell it does drain the battery like a fountain. But using a custom ROM has made the black a very efficient phone. This phone rocks now and dame! It is quite durable especially with a jelly case on it. My wife and I had a fight and this phone was slammed on the wall, kicked on the floor and thrown 10meters away at me. I super love this phone, It's still alive. And oh, I deliberately scratched the screen with a key and got frustrated. but after a week of use the scratch just disappeared.

Im from the philippines. I bought my LG OPTIMUS BLACK (P970) last July 21, 2012 worth 13,990(pesos). At first I have no problem with the phone but after 2 weeks used (normal use such texting, calling, mobile surfing & gaming) it suddenly came to a point that it laaaggg and sometimes the touch sensitivity doesn't respond. Another thing is that, when I was composing a message, the keyboard doesn't respond. For example, when I type letter "A" wrong letter would appear. Then, I sent it to the LG service center. Now, the phone is back to it's default settings and I am still monitoring the status of the phone. About the battery issue, it doesn't bother me that much because as we all know smartphones battery drain so fast. As for me, I'm kinda disappointed. I really like this phone because of it's NOVA display. Another thing, I hope that they would continue to upgrade this to ICS(Ice Cream Sandwich)... I still recommend this phone. Hope LG would reconsider this matter/issue or else you would lose customers.

have been using this phone for over an year now and i must tell u its an absolutely brilliant phone. the display is one of the best out there, cam also is pretty good considering its 5mp. the performance has also been very good no lag issues wen it comes to playing hd games. the only major concern was the battery backup but the latest firmware upgrade to v20g has resolved the battery issues as well. so overall its a very good phone to have. but the only complaint i have is that lg dont release the updates as promised. if that is resolved then lg can soon make it to the top

My only criticism of this phone is that it sucks current (voltage or power to some) like there is no tomorrow, other that it seems like a really good phone. I paid $300 for mine which when compared to other current phones was really good value for money at that price.

.....i later discovered that when i wanna snap a pic at nyt using default camera settings and the white autofocus box blinks red when snappin, the pic wuld nt be bright bt if it blinked green, it would be....so i tried various focus modes and sometimes the flash was bright and other times dark. It was only the manual focus mode that gave me bright pics allthrough while the others were either bright or dark...dunno why this is lyk dis, bt anytime i wanna snap at nyt nw, i use manual focus and my pics are really nyc...oh! Oh! Am begining to refall in love with my OB!

hey folks, got my p970 in february with froyo 2.2.2, d only flaw i had then was my camera flash being woeful at nyt nd my battery nt being able to last even up to 12hrs on standby...used kdz flash tool to update to stock rom 2.3.4 in May and rooted my mobile at the same time so i culd use superuser...installed easy battery saver and my battery received immense boost, going 2days on standby, replaced my 2gb sd card with an 8gb class of 2 sd card and installed about 15 games in total...then recently, lyk 3 weeks ago, my OB started lagging lyk hell. I moved all my moveable apps to sd card bt there wasnt improvements. I got so pissd that i almost smashed my OB...and looked for a swap deal with s2 to no avail. Then 3days ago, i removed my battery and left my phone for an hour without the battery in it. I placed bk d battery nd d lagging ceased. Hurray! Bt dat was nt all, my phones flash had been so horrible, to my amazement last nyt it suddenly became gud...

yeah it'll support pinch zoom n multi touch.. rear camera is 5mp n font camm is 2mp where u never find this in any mobile. super phone go n bup n brightest display 700nits.

Guys I must tell that LG Op Black is great for everything,but not for gaming,cuz its processor is less stable then snapdragon... And i Have problem...in last 3 days my phone keeps turning on screen itself in intervals about half hour idk...and its not shutting off more than 30 sec i have been set in preferences (30 sec) can someone help?
