I had one of these for about a year in highschool, Winter 2013-Winter 2014. I remember it very fondly. It was a magnificent phone, if i recall it was the first phone available on major US carriers with a quad core chip and LTE. 10/10

I've had this phone for years and its been great. i added a zagg screen protector (100% would recommend if you can get the one that bakes the film onto your phone) and the screen has been perfect, not even one pixel dead or broken in all the years of dropping it or having keys in the same pocket. Mine was rooted but it did not work very well with the rom i installed. (wifi didnt work) over all the phone's UI was great and very responsive and games ran well on it.

You can check nitrogen OS and update to 7.1.2, Its very much stable and best ROM not to mention best camera performance with this ROM

Got the marshmallow update....running perfectly smooth. Download the zip file from this link Download ROM manager in the app store and install clockmod recovery..........boot ur phone to recovery... (Vol+ and power key)wipe cache option and wipe portion option and finally give on install the zip option and select the zip file....that's all done..... :)

Hi, today my LG Optimus G E970 phone crashed while I was using the stock twitter app. The phone restarted itself and I found that I had lost everything. It had reformatted itself. I was going to just reinstall everything but it keeps telling me that I don't have enough storage space. I take a look at the internal storage settings and it shows total space of 0, stock apps of 39MB, and available space 0. However, the phone has been wiped. Shouldn't I get back my internal storage space. I then do a factory data reset and the result is the same. I also do a hard reset by pressing power and vol buttons and still no luck. Internal storage space is 0. What's wrong? Is there something wrong with the internal storage? Do I need a new phone? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The north America LG optimus g didn't get the kit Kat update. The screwed Canada and United States and I assume Mexico. But the Art mod Rom and the G3 Rom both have stock LG optimus 4.0 ui. Beautiful you can't tell it's a custom Rom and everything works. Better battery life and way faster benchmark scores.

After more than a year of using the Mobile this what actually annoys me 1- wifi direct cant be utilized, although the device holds it, I try it with the samsung phone, but its only enable to make a group but cant share anything 2- NFC doesn't work, although its available. It only senses the phone but cant send anything to another phone 3-video sometimes didnt work unless I restart the phone and reset the camera thats so bad bec I missed the moment I want to record 5- the battery okay, I know it cant survive much, but for a sleep time where the device is not in use about 40% leak for a 6 hr sleep its too much I think 6- file share freezes quickly and cant use it to share files, video, photos for another phone like samsung 7- Bluetooth I thought that it will be powerful but OMG I Found that my Symbian old phone is more powerful in the area it covers to search for other devices 8- camera flash and auto focus, although its a 8 MP, but the auto focus didnt work well also I need to adjust the constrants and brightness before every capture Finally don't ever use rom with device unless you are expert in like this issues

am also running on unofficial CyanogenMod lollipop and its running smooth just that only WiFi can't connect but I hope soon they will release update to fix that. those who which to try should go here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278955­9. but make sure you have unlock your boot loader, root and have custom recovery install. good luck.

It's a good phone until the first month. My wi-fi turns off by itself and always forget wifi' passwords after turning off the phone. The default browser kicks me out every time i open it. Battery doesn't last too much, unless you keep it with 0%bright. It's actually a very good phone for gaming and high-spec programs. If you want a simple phone to do simple stuff like playing candy crush and checking facebook don't buy this phone, it has a good hardware to be exploited.

Horrible phone, my bro has gotten it half a year ago, and he's already having problems, mainly with the battery which dies at 40% and yes he got another battery and after a couple of weeks it too started dieing at 40%..I know a few people with LG phones and all of them are having some kind of problem, anyway, I do not recommend getting this phone, I'd recommend the MOTO G or HTC ONE X for this price.

I have to say this phone is great spec and performance wise, very sleek and elegant, but the reliability is just horrid. My 1st phone (brand new) had touchscreen dead zones within 3 months of use (never dropped), the 2nd phone I received as warranty had battery issues and sometimes it won't even turn on after an overnight charge. The 3rd one I accidentaly dropped it and the touchscreen function died right away, when in other phones when the glass breaks, the touch function is still functional. Also 2 work partners broke their OG's too and the touch function was useless. Pretty phone, bad engineered.

The performance is really good. The graphics for gaming is amazing: Adreno 320. The battery, however, isn't very good. The battery only allowed me about 4-4.5 hrs of game playing nonstop. I would have recomended more battery life, but overall, the device is pretty good. 9/10 for me :D

Hello my friend, the camera is a very good, but not the best, if you need a good camera, go to get a Nokia phone in any version from Lumia, the camera of the LG E970 is a minor quality in comparison with the nokia Lumia 920 for example, however, the camera is good for normal expositions, in low light, is a little blurry, I know, you don´t interest in video, but leave me say a little thing... the video is good in any exposition, but the audio is very very bad :(... in in noisy conditions tend to distort the audio recording

You can root your phone to uninstall AT&T bloatwares(Use Link2sd from playstore to freeze/uninstall bloatwares). To make wifi tethering work follow these instructions(these are for LG Optimus G Pro, but same applies to e970): Network mode is also available in hidden menu. use 3845#*970# to open hidden menu. then goto WCDMA-Only -> Modem Settings -> RAT Selection. Now select your desired mode. I hope this helps, as I used these methods successfully on my phone.

This phone is absolutely awesome! That awesome that no matter what else I buy, I always come back to this. This beats in a price/performance wise ratio to any of the "options" I tried beside this, like the both versions of the Galaxy S3, The HTC One and the Xperia. Also the price of this thing is RIDICULOUS for its specs, got mine for $170 Brand new, Comparing it with the xperia Z which has almost the exact same expects except for the screen and goes for over $300, this is a one way deal!

Got this phone yesterday. I bought this brand new phone from amazon for $187 on sale. Its an amazing phone!!! I'm loving it! I've got this with 16GB micro SD card & Jelly Bean 4.1.2 out of box. I've rooted it by 'Framaroot' app & uninstalled all AT&T bloatware by Link2SD app. I've used Sony Experia Mini Pro, Galaxy S2 (T-mobile), Galaxy S3 (1GB RAM), Galaxy S3 LTE (2GB RAM). But this one is the best phone I've ever used!!! & I'm very much confident about it :D. Look: Just 1 word = 'Awesome'!!! No need to say anything else. Touch screen: Very much smooth. Even better than Galaxy S3. Feeling is very very good. Software: After ordering it on amazon, I downloaded cyanogenmod ROM for it. BUT! I'm not gonna flash it!! Cause, I'm loving LG's user interface!! Its great. Much more better than Samsung's touch wiz!! Performance: Man!!! Its absolutely 'lag free', because of its 2GB RAM & quad core CPU. (You can trust me blindly on that!). You don't need to clear memory for using it :P. Graphics performance is awesome!! Camera: Camera is OK. Not great, nor bad. I don't use camera much, so its not a problem form me. Photo quality is better than Galaxy S2, but not equal to Galaxy S3. Its OK. One can use it. Con: The only disadvantage is non-removable battery. But, considering its hardware, battery life is great. Standby time awesome. If you sleep at night with Wifi, mobile data disabled, you will wake up with only 1% reduction of battery percentage. But, you know it, android is battery hungry. If you surf web much with mobile data, its will drain your battery like insane!! Conclusion: A GREAT phone!!! I'm very much satisfied with it. I DEFINITELY recommend it!!!

hi buddy, yes at&t has given out 4.1.2 , but i think your cell will come to your hand updated as the update was rolled out a long ago.! if not then u can definitely update as it's OTA, but if ur cell will be rooted or d-bloated then it will give error.!

You can upgrade to Android 4.4 Kitkat, but first you need to root your terminal and flash a custom rom. Doing that, you will probably break the warranty... If you're not a expert, it's not recommended... Excellent cellphone. Amazing price on amazon...

yes this phone is better than the s3 in every aspect except for the camera result, dont get me wrong, the camera is not bad at all its just not up to par with the rest of flagship phones. performance is just flawless battery timing is not bad for a heavy spec phone like this resolution is definitely eye candy build quality is the best you can get for the price i have been using this phone for over a week now and have no regrets.

I recently bought and started using a Korean version of LG Optimus G E975 mobile (model Korean model LG-F180L). I am having some operation feature doubts/problems: 1)I changed the language to ENGLISH (UK) from settings. and in Keyboard option I selected only English. De-selected the Korean language too. The QWERTY keyboard is having now ENGLISH keypad only.But when using phone Dial-pad it shows Numbers in both ENGLISH and KOREAN languages which cumbersome to use. Also when typing Mobile No.s in messaging(SMS) it shows Korean numbers more prominent than ENGLISH No.s which is very difficult to use. 2) When i make a call to a contact no. which not contains country code(eg.+91) it ask options which country to call ie 1)Call to Korea 2)Call to Local which is annoying everytime i am making outgoing call. It can't be done not because of the phone but because of the android version and because app developers must write their app to be able to be written to an sd card which doesn't happen anymore because android no longer supports it. This is the only functionality lost when upgrading from gingerbread but many many errors were corrected due to the upgrade.

Yes I have considered LG Nexus but I need expandable storage option. There are mods out there to enhance the picture quality on Optimus G's camera which works great from what I've seen. Apart from its camera everything is flawless. Again, I'm just concerned about the phone lasting in the long run as I don't keep upgrading and switching my phones.

I've read reviews on both, and they both have the camera as their biggest weakness. They both make blurry photos a common occurrence, with the LG struggling with photos with strong lighting either behind the subject (it washes out far more than you'd expect) and when there is bright light in the middle of the photo it flares quite badly. The SP just takes average photo's with an optic system you'd call acceptable if you time warped back six years. It's a shame about these weaknesses as otherwise they would be quite strong candidates for my next phone, I guess I'll likely go for the HTC one. Have you considered the LG Nexus?

Awesome phone, but if you use a MVNO such as straight talk, there is a super annoying problem. EVERYTIME you go to Contacts, it will try to connect to AT&T address book, which never comes up since I am not an AT&T customer. AT&T service cannot fix this, and they said it will have to be rooted to fix it. YOu have to hit the back button each time to override. It is amazing how such an incredible phone can be ruined with a little piece of AT&T bloatware that amazingly can be removed, even with a restore!

It is unapproachable for customer suggestions sic ! Lg has introduced model G LS 970 (68.9 mms )in India which is a tad narrower than E 970(71.6 mms ) wide. Although the lg electronics website lists the name of Optimus G in India a E970 68.9.6 mms wide the truth is that this is Lg Optimus G LS 970 and not E 970. It is sad Lg thinks that it can take indians for a ride. 2.8 inch wide phone is better than 2.6 or 2.7.inches. Sonyh Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy SIV are 2.8 inch wide.

This is the best phone I've ever had. if i will own a phone that does not have a removal battery or microSD that will be an iPhone not an android device and i will tell you i exclusively use Androild phones including LGO 4x HD. i used SG ii been there too. so thats my take nothing agains this device as it may prove me wrong but thats one thing i love about Android phones. They can be anything you want their is a wide variety of phones available as opposed to iPhone. but sorry i wont buy this because of those two things are a must for me. No bashing its my own personal thing. LGO 4x HD is very nice phone and i am quite happy but why does a company have to get rid of this option blows me away. samsung got it right their devices have these options and i love it. LGO 4x was my choice over SG III which i owned it for a day and sold it because it looked very cheap plastic compated to my LG. peace thats all i got to say.

Never buy an LG phone. The hardware is great, but they have terrible support. Actually, they do not have any support. The Optimus 2X users are still waiting for the Android ICS update. All other brands released the update at least 6 months ago. Just a year ago, Optimus 2X was amazing and expensive phone. Now noone wants it, its software is outdated and all other similar phones are considered better. Even if I wanna sell it, I can not get more than 1/5 of its original price (for a phone released a year and a half ago, that is terrible). This was my 2nd LG phone. LG NEVER AGAIN!!!

looks intresting so far...now all depends how it performs, battery life, software update etc., stuff where lg used to be suck in front of competition. Not always the high specs makes a phone to be good

For a phone being released this late into 2012, it needs to come with JB installed. Now, new buyers have to wait and who knows how long it will be until LG rolls out JB.

LG makes good phones, judging by the specifications at least. The only thing they need to improve is to star issuing timely updates for their Android devices. Otherwise they'll loose many loyal customers.

It is dangerous to buy lg phones ... in a sense ..., what I mean is it won't probably be updated with new versions of android, and even if by some miracle LG will release an update it will take them ages
