Meizu 15 - User Reviews

  • Would like the same phone with better internal specs and a better price.

  • Memory full but no reason can't recognize what.

  • It's an all right phone, I got it two months ago. The stereo speakers aren't great, that was one of the main reasons I was interested. But otherwise it's light, compact and runs pretty fast with the Flyme UI. Camera is great too. For £200 it's a great phone

  • just bougth the phone becuase my oneplus 3t screen broke this phone isn't good he is ok for temperory phone and nothing more

  • Xiaomi Note 3 is still better choice

  • its been layer coated, its still metal

  • I don't have any problems with worry about the latest security software update. I don't care, there's nothing sensitive on my phone, I use it to talk.

  • I personally do, I run now on an almost 5 years old LG G2 with Android 5 and will only change because its starting overheating with moderate use and battery doesn't last much anymore. For me the updates are useless as they drain more power from batteries and you get very little in return as for security, I don't use any sensitive info on my phones anyway so I don't care much.

  • This phone has the perfect dimensions that I'm looking for, even more compact than my previous best phone Meizu MX4. And front fingerprint scanner is a bonus. But 2 cons: 1) 3000 mAH is small and Meizu software is not exactly the most battery efficient. We're have appreciated atleast 3,500 mAH unit. 2) PRICE. $400 is too much. I guess I'll wait for the price to come down to less than $300 once Meizu 16 comes out.

  • As GSMArena said : "If you feel comfortable with limited support and no more software updates, it is definitely a worthwhile option"

  • The biggest weakness of this phone is : SOFTWARE !

  • yeah, 'cause the redmi note 5 has the SD 660, a 2160p camera with OIS (NOT EIS) (also, Meizu Camera has far better camera than Xiaomi), Type C usb, 24W fast charging (compared to QC 3.0 with 18W),

  • tinchow, with the Meizu 16 coming the prices are dropping every week on the 15. Aliexpress is down to $378 for the Meizu 15 right now.

  • I really 2 want this phone and hope it will be available in indonesia at the reasonable price

  • this phone looks awesome, and has very nice features, but costing more than u$400 is simply too much, I can get a Redmi Note 5 for half the price!

  • Where is the IP68? :(

  • The white version I don't think is metal because it does not have any cut outs and plastic for antennas, all other colors have and that is a proof are metal, except white.

  • Dear daocat555, Thanks a lot for your deep replay

  • I don't use either face ID or fingerprint to lock my phone. I leave it unlocked. The fingerprint scanner sure is small in size. I don't use mtouch either either and am not completely sure what it is. I think you mean navigating using that small fingerprint scanner, which I just tried so that I could respond to your question. For me not as easy as navigating using the three symbols at the bottom of the screen, left arrow for back; circle for home and a box which show the apps which are open; or I just swipe the screen to navigate, I am an old dog; not quick at learning new tricks. I can tell you for sure it does not support a micro memory card. I bought the 64 GB version of the phone, liked it so much I figured I would buy a 64 GB memory card and bought one, just being indulgent as I didn't expect the increase in memory would affect anything. When I went to install the memory card....whoa......won't fit in the SIM tray. Only room for two nano SIM cards, no room for a memory card, Yea some reviews say it supports a memory card; fooled me.

  • Daocat555.... can you tell as about fingerprint sensor is it ok to use or because the small size is not practical and what about m-touch is it helpful or not. finally GSMARENA said there is no micro SD card slot but many reviews they confirm existence of card slot.

  • Meizu 16 won't be a midrange phone like 15 is but a flagship and the price will probably be 200 euro more.

  • If you have waited this long I would say don't go for the Meizu 15, but consider the Meizu 16, which just might have an Oreo based Flyme. From the rumors about the Meizu 16 I am considering buying it.

  • Nougat, seriously?in summer 2018 ? too bad, I own a Pro6 and still on Nougat too, with was a very recent update..... for that price.... you get Oreo and faster updates on other brands. Too bad, was going to buy this one for me and one for my wife, we are both....were both Meizu fans..... But who knows, maybe Meizu will finally wake up also here in China :)

  • I have owned the Meizu 15 for over a month now. The screen is only 5.46 inches in diagonal, but it has the smallest side bezels of any phone I know of, so the width of the screen is 67.99 mm; as large as the width of the screen on the Oppo Find X which has a 6.4 inch diagonal screen. It only has a 79.8 screen-to-body ratio as the top and bottom bezels are not small. However, it's the width of the display which I find most useful, to dial a number or type in a web address. I considered the Samsung Galaxy S9, which is easy to hold with a 68.7 mm width. But the Samsung Galaxy S9 is thicker at 8.5 mm and heavier, and although the Samsung Galaxy has a 83.6% screen-to-body ratio, the width of the Samsung S9 screen is only 64.45 mm. The price of the Samsung Galaxy S9 affected my final decision on which phone to buy; and right now I would prefer the Meizu 15 if the cost of the phones were equivalent. The stereo speakers have a nice sound output during calls. The 3000 mAh battery is sufficient and charges very quickly. It comes with no bloatware at all except for the weather app, which I don't use and thus far have been unable to uninstall. The Meizu 15 has a 4-axis OIS, 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase and laser detection autofocus, and a six-LED dual-tone flash which the nova's do not have. Concerning the lack of OIS (optical stabilization) on the nova 3e gsmarena (I think) was dripping with sarcasm when they wrote, i quote: For starters, it requires about 20s instead of just 4s. And your phone should be on a tripod the whole time - handheld is not an option unless really messy is what you are after. And if you comply with everything, you will still end up with one quite dark picture. So, if you have a tripod lying around, or something to keep the phone stable, just use the Manual mode with long shutter setting or the Light Painting mode (though it's not that good, either). Honestly, I have yet to take a single photo with the Meizu 15 (it's on my "to do" list), but the other evening during a power blackout I used the flashlight to walk home, and the flashlight was quite bright. Once I got home I kept the flashlight on for over an hour until the power came back up, so I would have some ambient light in my room. The battery had no problem with this. For me, low weight and body size are important in a phone as I carry it around. Good speakers are important as I listen when I am in a phone call. The Meizu 15 does the things I want it to do well. I don't need a big screen or a powerful chipset. From the reviews that I have read since I bought the phone it sounds like the camera's are very nice, and that's good to know and I do expect to be using the camera in the future.

  • When will the full review on this come out? Looks like the perfect entertainment phone

  • When the global version of this device would be available? And will it support B20 frequency?

  • You should probably flash a clean chinse verison of Flyme on your phone, then you will be able to get OTA updates. However, you will need to install google services from the Meizu appstore in order to get Play Store.

  • How this phone with Hybrid SIM and no card slot??? any one can explain....

  • Since '15' models are using different processors, they have differences in networks. As a result, Meizu 15 supports "4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B4/B5/B8/ B20 " but does not "B7", and Meizu 15 PLUS supports "4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/ B7 /B8" but does not "B20".

  • Does this phone work with Netflix ??

  • I own this phone for 2 days. First impressions are all positive with no negatives. I like the small and light dimensions, for me even thinner like 70 mm would be better, but 72 mm is ok. The screen is nice, speakers nice, no bloatware came with it. My international seller installed multi language and google play store apps, which work. Then he cautioned me that OTA upgrades are not available and I have no idea what that means. Does that mean no OTA upgrades for the multi language? or no OTA upgrades for anything at all? If I can't get new security patches and software upgrades at all then I may regret buying it; I just don't know what will and will not be able to get OTA upgrades. Other than that worry, I am very happy with the phone.

  • how about m touch! I didn't see any about m touch on utube video. someone can share me about it's finger print support m touch function.

  • Nokia 8 Scirocco fails due to curved edges which practically make it a 18:9 phone. But yes, it looks good.

  • Not plastic, but high grade polished metal.

  • yes !!! my fav is the mx4 , had to sell it during to a shatter in the screen . totally gonna buy this :D

  • Hello, the version that is being sold of the Meizu 15 has band B7 FDD-LTE of 2600 ?? In the official website they give these: Network and carriers Open edition of Netcom 2G: GSM B2 / B3 / B5 / B8 2G: CDMA BC0 3G: WCDMA B1 / B2 / B5 / B8 4G: TD-LTE B34 / B38 / B39 / B40 / B41 4G: FDD-LTE B1 / B3 / B4 / B5 / B8 Open edition of Netcom 2G: GSM B2 / B3 / B5 / B8 2G: CDMA BC0 3G: WCDMA B1 / B2 / B5 / B8 4G: TD-LTE B34 / B38 / B39 / B40 / B41 4G: FDD-LTE B1 / B3 / B5 / B8 What 4G FDD-LTE bands do you really have, in one has B7 and the other does not? Thank you

  • This phone brings back fond memories of my Meizu MX4, which is the best designed phone in my opinion. It had a 5:3 affect ratio screen and very slim (almost non-existent) side bezels even in 2014. I've bought over 20 phones so far and the MX4 is my favorite. Hopefully this will be my next phone, but $400 send to much. Should have been $300.

  • Nice job. Great screen to body ratio with 16:9 ratio. 143 H x 72 W with a 5.4” screen feels a like a great size.

  • what about Nokia 8 Sirocco? it has slimmer bezels, 2K display, Android Oreo, clean Android and SD835 chipset and many other things that make it way better

  • finally someone that makes 16:9 with slim bezels. meizu take my money :)

  • Seems like a decent phone and a phone that i would get. The specs is pretty decent and not going overboard. Hope we can get reviews for this phone.

  • It seems to me that the blue and gold version have metal back covers while the black and white are made out of plastic is this right? I wanted a black metal :(

  • Shame it doesnt have 800 mhz 4g band

  • It should be 4000 mAh. 3000mAh is too small capacity. Very nice and compact design. I hope it would be my next device. Now i am still using meizu m6 note

  • This would've been undoubtedly a bestseller had it come at least 5 mos earlier (under a different name for obvious reasons). But this could still be relevant now if priced competitively- if the base version is $300. But of course it's Meizu, asking for a price like it's a premium brand.

  • Nougat??? Really??? Where is Oreo? What chance is there of ever getting it?

  • also it has stereospeakers

  • > Price About 200 EUR really I read about $396 for base model
