Meizu 16 - User Reviews

  • 1) In India, the Asus Zenfone 5Z (6/128 GB) variant is available for INR 19K on Flipkart. The Meizu 16th (8/128 GB) variant is available for INR 20K on Amazon. Meizu is charging INR 1K more for 2 GB more RAM which is justifiable. It a tie here. - There is no tie in here, it's 8GB ram with fast storage. Also there is 1k discount on Amazon. 2) Both phones have similar glass sandwich construction with an aluminium frame. However Asus 5Z comes with Gorilla Glass 3 front & back where as Meizu 16th have unspecified glass which can be more prone to breaking and scratches. Asus wins here. 3) Meizu 16th has a 6 inch notch-less Samsung super AMOLED display where as 5Z has a 6.2 IPS LCD panel. Where as the 16th display is more vivid and have deep blacks, the 5Z's display is more accurate, supports 100% DCI-P3 and is brighter. Its a tie here. -This is true. 4) Meizu has in-display fingerprint scanner whereas Asus have regular scanner on the back. While Meizu's implementation is more futuristic, Asus implementation is more accurate, faster & secure. Its a tie here. -In display scanning is fast in meizu + there is face recognition which is even faster. 5) The camera performance of Asus 5Z is superior in every way over Meizu 16th. The reviewers are telling a lot of noise are present in the still photos of Meizu and the Asus 5Z is considerably better. When is comes to videos, Asus has EIS stabilized videos where as the Meizu have choppy videos recorded with its camera. This is an issue every reviewer complained and even if the 16th comes with OIS, its half baked camera software cannot use it properly to stabilize the videos. Also the camera software of 16th always forgets the last setting and goes back to default every time you use it. Asus 5Z wins hands down by a big margin. - This souly lyes on ones perception. I Didn't find any such issue with Meizu. 6) Asus 5Z gives you the option use micro-SD card and expand memory upto 2 TB. You are forever stuck with 128 GB with Meizu. Asus wins. 128GB is enough in today's world where data is stored on cloud. Google photos help me sync images and videos. While other apps have multi sync features. Mmc is out now that not most flagships have them. 7) Both supports dual 4G VoLTE. Tie here. True 8) Asus 5Z comes with a 3300 mAh battery over 3010 mAh of 16th. The 5Z gives you much better battery backup due to bigger battery. Both supports 18 watts fast charging and comes with fast wall chargers included in the box. Asus wins. 9) Both comes with dual speaker setup for loud and clear audio. However the Asus 5Z comes with 5-magnet speakers with dual NXP Smart Amp and is the louder one. Asus wins over a slight margin. -Meizu comes with 24watt charger and mcharge 1 hour to get the battery full. 10) Both comes with 3.5 mm audio jack. However the Asus 5Z have way better sound quality over headphones as it uses Qualcomm Aqstic Audio CODEC and supports Hi-Res audio 192kHz/24-bit standard. Asus 5Z wins hands down. - Meizu has its own music control which works with online streaming apps like ganna and savan. So one needs to hear before commentz. 11) Meizu is facing troubles lately and laying off hundreds of Chinese employees in the process to stay afloat. Two of Meizu's prominent figures - VP Li Nan and Systems Engineer Hong Hansheng recently exited the company. We have seen it before and Meizu is now just a dying star in the smartphone industry. They just does not have the budget to create full blown flagships. With their global support almost non-existent it is high risk to buy their phones as of now with no after sales support on a global level. - that's true. 12) The biggest gripe against all current Meizu phones are their half baked software. The 16th is running Flyme OS skin on top of age old Android Oreo (8.1) and there are no plans for future updates. Even more the old Oreo build is not stable enough with many alarming bugs remaining and unsolved which will hamper day to day activity. There are forum full of sad Meizu 16th owners who are complaining about this. We may admire construction and build quality of a phone, but as soon as you put it under a cover, the only way we are going to interact is through the software. If the software is a s buggy as Flyme OS is in Meizu 16th it will eventually lead to the decision of not buying this phone as there is no future support. Where as the Asus 5z is running on newer stable Android Pie (9.0) and is in the list to receive Android Q (10.0). Asus wins buy a huge margins. - no bugs in Flyme for India at least works well. In the end I don't think anybody will buy or praise the Meizu 16th expect for those who had made an impulsive decision to buy this phone without doing proper research about the product or does not have many options available on their region. And also Meizu fans will buy this phone as it is a Meizu. Other brand-neutral buyers will run for similarly priced and more future proof phones like Asus Zenefone 5z. -Depends on person to person, however how much support Asus has for it's phones is debatable

  • Their are many factors which are preventing me from committing to the Meizu 16th: 1) In India, the Asus Zenfone 5Z (6/128 GB) variant is available for INR 19K on Flipkart. • 1) The camera is not all that good for still photography. AI is applied everywhere and you can only disable it fully on full manual mode. Hind cameras are great. I am using this phone as of date. Night mode is excellent. 2) Video capture has no stabilization support, not even EIS. So all videos are shakey. Specwise similar and priced Asus Zenfone 5z and Xiaomi Poco F1 are miles ahead in the camera department. Not true. Videos are good, just recording on camera is mono. 3) Battery is small and backup is not all that great. 3010 mAh lasts for a day in moderate use. 4) Not for gamers as the device heats up considerably and battery drains a lot under gaming. COD and PubG are well played on this, battery isn't drained much. 5) The OS is not that mature and have many bugs. Not mature True, Bugs - false, it's similar to MIUI 6) No assurity on future android updates. TRUE

  • Yes I would recommend it. But after sales and service is not there in India I got it for a good deal from Amazon Software updates forget it, but the phone itself is a killer. My primary phones were Samsung S9 AND MiA2 Now I have all data and Sims in this meizu 16th and it's flawless. Loving it.

  • This phone still running of Android Oreo (8.0) released two years back when major manufactures are releasing Android 10 for their phones now, and are two generations ahead of Meizu 16th. My $110 Nokia 6.1 runs on Android Pie (9.0) with planned update of Android 10 by Dec, 2019. Everybody knows Meizu is now a dying star is phone industry and that is showing in the Flyme OS which so many issues. I understand Meizu have limited budget for development of their phones and hence the end product is not a complete product like that of Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, Vivo or Oppo. The phone will never be updated to Android Pie (9.0) leave alone Android 10 which vastly improves security on your phones. I read a post where after a owner of this phone created the Flyme account, the Meizu 16th got locked down and won't open even if the correct password was provided. And many owners are facing the same issues!!!! Personally I am brand neutral and i think nobody will going to buy this junk expect for die-hard Meizu fans.

  • I am from India, and I too am interested on this phone. However while going through some reviews on internet and YouTube, I found some common issues that all the reviewers are complaining about the global Meizu 16th: 1) The camera is not all that good for still photography. AI is applied everywhere and you can only disable it fully on full manual mode. 2) Video capture has no stabilization support, not even EIS. So all videos are shakey. Specwise similar and priced Asus Zenfone 5z and Xiaomi Poco F1 are miles ahead in the camera department. 3) Battery is small and backup is not all that great. 4) Not for gamers as the device heats up considerably and battery drains a lot under gaming. 5) The OS is not that mature and have many bugs. 6) No assurity on future android updates. In the end I think Asus 5z and Pick F1 are much better options.

  • I wish to purchase it, would you recommend???

  • I wish to purchase it, how would you recommend it? is it worth going for?? how is the after sales experience...

  • Never mind I am

  • Anyone from India using this?

  • better buy a nokia 3310.

  • They both have their ups and downs. The 16 has a bigger screen and better chipset, while the v30 has a higher definition screen and better audio quality (quad dac support.) Pick your poison I guess.

  • I get 4 days on average. Sometimes it pulls out 5-6 days on a single charge, minimum 3 days. But I also don't do dumb things like gaming on a smartphone nor using it as a replacement for my PC or laptop (meaning I use smartphone internet only to check messages and occasionally to check mail or weather when I'm not at home). I've set screen brightness to 50%, no automatic sync, wifi or mobile data are turned on only when I need them, GPS is turned on only when and if I need it.

  • Is there a monochrome or black and white mode in 16th. Is the secondary camera /depth sensor a monochrome sensor

  • Hi, can some one please tell me how screen on time you get with one charge? Phone is nice but I wory is so small battery good for 5 h sot. Thanks

  • My 16th is dead, suddenly off don't know why?haven't go to the SC yet.

  • My question was not about how many updates Meizu give to their product so don`t try to be smart. Was only looking for some feedback from the latest update for the global version. Since then I have updated and phone is a bit faster and smoother.

  • are you kidding me?!?! what are you on? in which dream you seing the v30 being worse than the meizu 16th?!

  • Updates are not the most important thing and Xiaomi has bugs as well. Xiaomi's built quality is also lower than that of Meizu. Despite that, Xiaomi devices receive much more frequent updates than Meizu. Still, 95% of people don't get it that it's not so important whether you have an Android 7 (nougat), Android 8 (oreo) or an Android 9 (pie) device if it works well without major bugs. In other words, the phone IS NOT better just because it has Android 9 (pie) compared to Android 8 (oreo) or Android 7 (nougat). If you want more security, install Kaspersky for smartphones.

  • if u care for update go for xiaomi even 80$ phone of xiaomi give update regular without bugs

  • I did. It fixed just a major bug like screen not rotating in messages previously, two themes which were crashing for unknown reasons are stable now, they added new TouchPal 2019 which STILL didn't fix localization problems and they fixed some totally irrelevant face-recognition bug. So basically they fixed 2 problems plus 1 irrelevant problem out of 6 or so. That's it. Chinese users had 5 or 6 updates with all of these problems apparently being fixed but global version received just 2 updates. I doubt that they will release another global update.

  • Anyone updated to flyme 7.3.0.0G on global rom? If so what's it like?

  • Bought it recently, a 6GB version with SD 845. I'm really pleased with performance, camera and design but not with battery life and dimensions. My previous Sony Xperia XZ had slightly smaller 2900 mAh battery and still endured at least 1.5 times longer on a single charge. Seems to me like the real battery capacity is 2000 mAh but I could be wrong. The other thing is that phone feels too large in hands.

  • You must be from Indonesia coz you wrote "trims" instead of thanks :D

  • The one called meizu 16th plus is better than 16th,if you need a long support of the batterry, you can choose 16th plus.

  • 16 and 16X(710 snap) is the same but 16th(845) is different cpu

  • Trims 4 info bro...already bought it. Hope works well

  • What about bettery timing in meizu

  • An android one version of this phone would have been really good.

  • what is SAR level of Meizu 16th?

  • Recently tried Samsung s10e (good phone) and Huawei P30 (nice looking) and reverted back to meizu as overall package prefer to both. Interested in the S version doing the rumour rounds

  • Global rom support is dead, go away from Meizu.

  • I bought Meizu 16th global version 6GB+64GB. I've been using it and testing it for a few days. In short these are the benefits: - superb built quality, only metal and glass on the exterior - excellent and elegant design - excellent performance (2400+ SC and 9000+ MC in Geekbench 4.3 & 285.000+ in Antutu) - excellent screen - Samsung's Super AMOLED - very good cameras with Sony EXMOR RS sensors - speakers produce the best sound quality I've ever heard on smartphones - has 3.5 mm jack - has acceptable physical dimensions (smaller and more comfortable for use than most phones) - one of the lightest and thinnest phones on the market - has in-display fingerprint sensor - comes with Android 8.1, not 8.0 as stated here - dual SIM support - unlocked device (no mobile carrier restrictions) Phone has also a few downsides: - Gorilla Glass 5 has very poor resistance to scratches, so case and screen protector are very necessary - 3010 mAh battery isn't bad but could be bigger; still, phone can easily endure 3+ days without charging and with rational use

  • Meizu 16th, hands down. LG V30+ is not even close to Meizu 16th considering performance, built quality, screen and sound quality.

  • Meizu M16 or LG V30+? Pliz someone tells..

  • What DeltaE on display, i need to know that to compare with mi8. pls review about that if possible. Thank you sir.

  • what about it's software

  • Hey guys, I got Meizu 16th today. There's a problem, only one network courier here in the Philippines that works, only GLOBE. I tried Smart/TNT network but it keeps turning off and on. When I tried both GLOBE and SMART, both of them keeps turning off and on... Is this a software bug? I tried updating and do factory reset, still the same.

  • You can set a new fingerprint, right after the shower too, i did it, lol

  • Hi, I Got mine, 1 week ago, very good SD845 phone for the price, No Ugly Notch, perfect screen, lightweight, good Bat, (Global version bought from the official aliexpress store, 400€), Good Stereo Speakers ! Perfect user interface with NovaLauncher (I installed it from the PlayStore) Notification Led and classic headphone jack port are must-have for me (very good sound, one of the best), way to go Meizu, well done Meizu !

  • Hi everyone. This is my first mobile, Meizu 16th,it's reeeeally great quality mobile, Nice. Slim, Fast, good screen, battery, sound .. ext And I really recommend it for all.. Thanks, Meizu and go ahead for more success 👍

  • I used Meizu 16 for one month. It's really great in every thing. I recommend it for all 👌👍❤&#65039;

  • i have been using it for 2 months and it is very good. the weight is lowest among flagships (the reasong i picked up for). battery is perfect for my use. first time user meizu after using xiaomi mi5 for 2 years. in-display fingerprint is not reliable in terms of accuracy especialy after shower. but in general great phone and i am very happy with it

  • The 16th is the best smartphone ever. 160 grams and display as nice and big as an iphone Xs or as a galaxy S9+ or as a mate 20 pro which are all just fat.

  • It's a pretty phone, with a premium look and a good sound. Battery is OK, 5 hours of SOT is maximum i could get, on other side it has fast charging, that works very good. One of the worst things is a software support from Meizu. It's simply doesn't exist, for a global version. It still runs 8.1, and no news about upgrade. Flyme is a heavily costumized andoid "skin". And it shocks with inconvenience. It's pretty snappy, but not always logical or intuitive. From a budget perspective, it's a good investment, but only if you are ready to face bugs, and other things that can bring bad user experience.

  • Really good work meizu ...this phone is the best of flagship killers with 400€

  • This phone has amoled screen, ud fingerprint reader and snapdragon 845 chipset. Meizu 16 deserves to be reviewed:)

  • its your 2. time negative bs on this section, nice try "meizu"

  • good hardware. bad software support. if they just release the kernel source code, this phone will be sold like no other.

  • Tragic global rom support, very small battery, no SD card, no radio, flyme is very bungle. Never buy Meizu again.

  • 0.73

  • I hope that usb 2.0 info is wrong. With all that specs, 2.0 is like a joke on this phone.

  • Any info about sar value?

  • Wich one best for camera P20 vs 16th??? screen on time? :')

  • Is because Flyme is buggy or not so customable? Or maybe laggy? I plan to buy this mobile but wanna read some user review first because GsmArena dont review it until now -_-'

  • First of all this phone is really beautiful. It looks and feels great in your hand. I have 128/8 version, works very fast. I'm using it for 2 weeks now, mainly for reading and watching movies ( Netflix, youtube ) and it's perfect for this. Camera is OK in bright light, it's gettin worse in low light, there's no night mode and PRO mode is very poor. Sound quality is decent, on loudspeaker and on headphones, actually I like it more than my P20. Battery life is not impressive. Battery could be bigger, but this phone is very thin and light and I like it like this. Also it charges incredibly fast. It's really not a problem. Fingerprint sensor under the display is very comfortable to use but it's not as fast as in P20 . And sometimes it just doesn't work and you have to enter your code to unlock. You hands must be dry and clean to use it. The only thing I don't like about this phone is Flyme OS, but after installing Nova launcher it's bearable.

  • do not buy meizu battery drain and rom full of bugs

  • Never buy Meizu again, very bad rom support, battery is terrible, flyme is big bugs.

  • When is it available in India Amazon site?

  • It's Meizu "16th", not "16".

  • Touch screen not smooth and lags

  • Wow 92.5 screen to body ratio really makes it compact yet screen size is perfect for multimedia.

  • I am also waiting for this phone but I want to read review on gsmarena first then I want to go with this. I also used MX5 2 years ago in India mx5 was a good build quality with normal camera camera

  • no such thing as have or not

  • I would like bought this phone if I have enough money. I love the specs and the design.

  • There is no review yet, i am not Meizu fans. But I really like it if the GSMA makes a review. The most underrated cellphone.

  • dude, im from ph too. but look at the specs of the phone. yes Meizu is not that known in the PH but if you look at the stuff they put in to this phone. Its got adreno 630 which is used with the current flagship of SONY XZ's Kryo processors clocked with 2.0 + under display fingerprint. Yeah maybe not 25k.. but definitely not 14-16k. 19 - 22k would be at point.

  • So expensive here in Philippines, not worthy of Php 25K, it should have been 14-16K

  • Can confirm it. The battery is a bad joke. Need to charge this stupid device twice a day. I thought the iPhone is badest out there but not Meizu can make it even worse. I think mainly cased by this buggy OS. This OS, even it looks cool and for me an former iphone user appealing one, is ridiculous buggy. Basic things that work since the first smartphone came out there don't work on Meizu. For instance. On a push message the display doesn't light up. You use headphones with jack the Meizu rings still through speaker but not the headphones. If you mute the ringtone the handy doesn't vibrate anymore...A rip off selling this sh1t as a flagship. Embarrassing this company

  • The best battery for this phone is 4000mah. 3000. Is small. Meizu & flyme software is very bad.

  • Lol some autocorrect going on.. I have s9 3k mah..

  • Tragic battery? What kind of comments are this...? If 3k kaj battery is not enough then you need to get off your phone. I have so with 3k and it can do 2-3days no with 5-6hrs ost.. or if I really use it a lot 1-2days 7hrs ost.

  • battery is good

  • It is 6 inch phone and 7.3 mm thickness! Just look at Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 EE! They are 6,2 inch and 7,6 mm have the same battery capacity! MIX 3 is 6,3 inch is also just 3200 mAh. Yes the sliding factor make it harder but MIX 3 is 8.5mm thickness. Check the phone dimension before comment the nonsense thing!

  • Tragic battery very small Bad rom support, go away from Meizu.

  • Only 3010 mAh, too little

  • IR less matters to me, NFC does. Sigh~ ;_;

  • This phone doen't have NFC and IR

  • Guys? Does it have NFC perchance? I wanna get it and replace my Pro 7.

  • Don't take Pixel 3, no headphone jack. And filled with plagues.

  • Yes.. minimalis design.. No notch or sliding mechanism.. No copy of iPhone camera position.. No edge screen (expensive to replace if cracked or broken).. FP under display.. The price is quite cheap.. Maybe the minus only is the availability and the thickness.. Too thin (7.3mm) so the battery is relatively small but not bad (same as Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 EE battery capacity).. But it support mCharge (fast charge).. So it doesn't matter.. The lack of NFC is only for country which paying using NFC..

  • Hey gsm guys.. this is a best budget smartphone right now in my opinion..so what about a full review..? Sounds..build..display..etc

  • This device has the Snapdragon 845 which supports USB-C 3.1 so I suspect a typo.

  • Have no issues with battery, it is better than I expected .with all day use at moderate level usually end up at around 35/40%

  • I am really hoping for a gsmarena full review on this phone. I am HOH and trying to decide between the Meizu 16th and the Pixel 3. Hopefully gsmarena will review both (the Pixel is a sure thing) so I can decide based on audio output. The Pixel 2 was weak there but supposedly it has been improved, while my current phone, the Meizu 15 is excellent there and maybe the 16th is even better? gsmarena, please review this very relevant phone.

  • agreed!

  • how about battery? it's only 3010mah..

  • Totally agree with you. Just the right amount of bezels to keep it as compact as possible. Why are people obsessed with an all-screen front with moving/sliding hardware (or worse, a notch)? This is the perfect balance. By the way, I wouldn't mind if it were 1mm thicker for more battery. I wish there were more phones like this available in more markets.

  • Would love to see review here asap, personally love the phone and think it's fantastic value compared to Huawei, google, apple and even one plus

  • Compares well even with Mate rs and Htc 12+, decent camera and speakers, great form factor and useful options with Flyme os , smart touch etc, great phone

  • no exynos chip :(

  • The market share of Meizu is down to 2% in China this year.. Because of slow product distribution, high price (far from launched price), the chipset (they're using Mediatek n Exynos only before).. It's hard to compete with Xiaomi if they don't change this fault.. Yes Meizu is small company but Xiaomi is also small if we see them years before.

  • High demand for this phone in China, for awhile it was sold out.

  • It costs 509 euros in my country, and it doesnt even have usb 3.0.... Fak me sideways......

  • So sad that the Global version (include LTE B20 band) is sold so expensive at Aliexpress :( Though in my country dont use B20 band, the price of this phone at online retailer is quite far from the announced price -_-

  • Great phone specs, awsome screen etc, almost perfection.. too bad the Meizu skin/OS-software is horrible! im not even talking about the nasty bloadware and software support is pathetic.

  • How good is the video Stabilitation?

  • Pay attention that Mi 8 is downclock on the SoC when it on the full throttle (hot condition).. Check the Mi 8 bechmark.. It is slow.. While Meizu 16 has liquid cooler on the board.. So it's not downclock.. That's why Meizu 16 is one of the top SD845 benchmark result.. Pls be aware that Meizu 16 is also new. Maybe the OS is not optimized yet.

  • The difference isn't very big though.

  • No it won't.

  • agree, very small battery , very bad firmware support from meizu, my pro 6 plus all firmware they have a lot of bugs. GO away from this company.

  • Best large screen phone in terms of design and ergonomics, why don't other companies get this. No cancer notch, no basically useless curved screen and just the right amount of bezels on all 4 sides.

  • no but do we need it for this price, i don't

  • Meizu traditionally does not have an efficient endurance. So 3,000 mAH battery for 6.0 inch phone is a big mistake.

  • IP68?

  • Just look at Mi 8.. It has 3300 mAh but bigger display (6.2 inch).. Meizu 16 only has 3010 mAh battery but the diaplay ia also smaller (6 inch). So it will be arround the same endurance.

  • Does this phone NFC support?

  • How can I buy this on Philippines?

  • Hello all, I'm very woried for the less capacity battery... Someone test it?

  • Thank you for the answer.

  • Does it have a notification LED ???

  • In order to make it cheap and slimmest flagship (slimmer than iPhone).. For me, I can not answer call and reply msg when charging via wireless..

  • For me, what I would like to see on the Meizu 17th is wireless charging. That's a feature that might not be on any Meizu phone, but is a really handy feature. It adds a bit of weight, so throw in NFC as well and I think it will be a better phone.

  • EIS doesn't need a sensor to have a gyro. It can use the gyro of the device, since EIS is SOFTWARE based - you can do that task on the main CPU instead of sensor and it's image processing unit. You can do EIS as long as you have ANY gyro in the device. As for the battery someone is ranting here about - there's a russian battery endurance test of 2018 phones, done by Andro-news. Meizu 16th lasted longer than iPhone X, Oneplus 6, Honor 10 and Mi A2. The battery and optimization isn't anything to write home about, but it's not as bad as some think.

  • gsmarena did not particularly care for the camera of the Meizu 15 and on YouTube the very first, brief hands on reviewers did not particularly like the video of the Meizu 16th. Want more warts to whine about? The screen is not all that bright and the battery, of course, is not huge.. None the less I feel good that I have one on order, as video and battery are not all that important to me and the screen/camera of my Meizu 15 is fine to me. I like small body, lightweight, great audio, and great build quality.

  • Mabe, not a gyro.

  • So, since Meizu 15+ (the bigger version) has exactly the same sensor setup and has EIS, which can easily be seen on video samples, I guess a miracle must have happened at Meizu HQ?

  • Meizu 16th and 16th plus with camera modules IMX350 and IMX380 (IMX376) do not have Gyro EIS stabilization.

  • 6 inches 3000mah? good luck with battery life.

  • This phone looks amazing and there is good balance between price and specs.

  • Where is the IP68, Meizu?! :(

  • Having SD845 for 410 euros its good idea but only when rest of the specs are to the satisfaction but they arent this phone is joke.

  • Disappointing that it's worse than pervious model.

  • I'll just drop this from Meizu's FB page: "The #meizu16 comes with 4G FDD- LTE bands B1, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, and B20, and TDD-LTE B40, as well as all the CDMA , WCDMA, and GSM bands you could hope for!"

  • The website Kimovil (which is a gsmarena competitor so they will not accept a link to that page) has the feature that you can input a phone, then input a country, and get told what carrier bands that phone works with. Per Kimovil, it will work with Bell or Telus.

  • Will this work with bell or telus in Canada?

  • toonday.....does my link work? Do you need the name of the Store on Aliexpress which is listing the Meizu 16th. It is Hong Kong SKY-WAY. "Stop lying"? Duh.

  • Who do you think you are fooling? The phone is not available in any store on aliexpress stop lying.

  • Oh, I was going to add, Oppomart has the M16th for an okay price and they say something like, "pre-order, will ship in 5-8 days." But that "promise" from an International seller, I think, I take with a grain of salt.

  • I ordered it from Aliexpress the day after it was announced. It has not shipped and the seller has not written me any notes, nor have I written them other than to say I want an unsealed box, don't tinker with the ROM please.. I had a problem with a different phone I ordered from Aliexpress who took 5 weeks to ship my order. And I have an order at SUNSKY for a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite for a friend and I have chatted with the seller. It is not yet in the warehouse. That can be a problem with International sellers! For sure I'll post when I get it.

  • I was referring to the 16 plus which is 78 mm wide.

  • Sorry I was referring to the 16 Plus.

  • 73.2 wide...

  • Are you blind? The width is 73.2 mm

  • Where did you buy it from

  • No thanks, too wide - 78mm, can't use this phone one-handed, max width for me is 75mm

  • Go for the 16+ 3640mAh battery Then, give us a hands-on review

  • daocat555>> Pls give us the hands-on review. Also, let us know the calling sound quality for both caller & receiver. Thanks

  • Meizu, why no NFC? ;( :( :'(

  • The true name of this phone is Meizu 16th not Meizu 16.

  • Where's the 1080p @ 60fps? or even a 720p at 60fps? h.265 player? and removing card slot is a verryy sh1tty idea

  • water resistant costs TOO MUCH making the phones with that feature very expensive,

  • I bought this phone a few hours ago from an International seller. I asked them not to root the phone and install multi language or Google play, but just to ship it to me as it arrived to them. My hope, but I do not know, is that the phone will then accept OTA upgrades to the OS. But if somebody knows about this either way I would be interested to hear from them. I have had the Meizu 15 for months now and I just love that phone. I'm hard of hearing so the clear and loud speakers are great; it's thin and light, the battery does not last all that long but always gets me through the day and charges quickly.

  • Where's "water resistant" :(

  • They probably say Internet radio is better.

  • meizu website shows galileo support.

  • Because those are specs for CHINESE version. Global launch wasn't even announced yet and half of the comments is crying because of no B20. Sit still and wait until global version comes out.

  • And missing lte band 20 - not suitable for europe

  • no galileo no deal

  • Soc hardly plays any role . Like 70% of the power consumption is the screen. This is a fell phone. Sad!

  • why no nfc

  • NFC ?

  • I'll buy one!

  • 6 inchs and 2950 mah????

  • Do not worry. So 710 is build on 10nm so battery life would be just like 3300mah battery with powerful performance

  • Do you know the reason?

  • For the price that they give, it is good for me. $400 USD for flagship? Zenfone 5Z cost much more than this.

  • I like everything about this phone except for the pathetic battery size. Anything under 3300 mAh = deal breaker for me.

  • Sadly FM radio is a no for flagships. If you go for a mid-range phone you will still get it.

  • Why no FM radio?

  • Are these China only, then?

  • No 800(20) mhz 4g band again! won't buy

  • I know that. My point was, the phone has good battery life, certainly better that the regular S9 and it's priced that way. And they both have the same battery, yet LG has the bigger and brighter display and still beats out the S9 is usage. It's tantamount to LG's capabilities

  • The battery endurance rating for LG G7 (GSMArena) is 77 hours which is average at best, certainly not great especially for a premium phone. People aren't going to buy that phone for great battery life.

  • I mean, LG has always been fantastic at making battery optimization as efficient as possible. Still, this is just too little and probably will last less than the G7 unless Meizu has some battery thing up it’s sleeve. This would’ve been fine had they gone with 5.5 to 5.7 inch screen

  • Deal breaker for me, that is why I already purchased Meizu 15.

  • I am so tired of 6 inch phones with small batteries. If huawei can fit a 4k in mate 10 pro so can everyone else.

  • Because those are specs for chinese version? Meizu 15 has B1/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20 on global version, and at least Meizu Poland tipped on an official polish release of Meizu 16- afair polish carriers use B1/B3/B7/B8/B20.

  • Well turns out it's not compact

  • Still no 4g band 20(800 mhz) its a need for people living in europe. Waste again

  • give it 18:9 and bigger battery at least! 6 inch lcd display but less than 3000mah battery? yeah, nah.

  • I agree. It seems to be a trend, look at Xiaomi A2 - 6in screen with 3,000mAh battery and its LCD screen (not even OLED which may be more energy efficient). What about LG G7? I guess software optimization and more efficient chipsets can go some ways, but bigger battery would be even better.

  • 2950 mAh what the

  • 6 inches and a less than 3000 mah battery? Imma be real witchu chief.....that's an incredibly stupid idea!
